Background literature: Previous studies about gender stereotypes enforced on people include; Effect of
infant s perceived gender on adolescents ratings of the infant by Degelman, Dvorak, and Homutoff
and Cowan (1983). These studies highlight feminine and masculine traits. They ask middle school
students to rate a baby on each of those traits.
Rationale: Our group decided to examine the differences in how boys and girls are described. We used
a baby, whose gender is not mentioned, as the control. We knew that specific sets of expectations
based on gender are enforced at a young age. We thought adjectives used to describe a baby could
highlight stereotypical gender roles.
Aim / Hypothesis: We believe it is more likely for the baby to be described based on appearance when
told it is a girl and when told it is a boy to be described based on their potential and whether they
looked smart . Our aim is to highlight the differences between males and females using stereotypical
gender roles.
Method
Design: 15 students were each asked the same question, could you tell us 5 words or phrases that

I was born and raised in America, my native language is English, I love rock music and American
food; people often think I am white because of the way I look and act. However, my ethnicity is
Hispanic American. My parents were born and raised in El Salvador, I have only been there once
when I was younger and I remember it like it was yesterday. I was hit with a bit of culture shock
because there were things I was not used to. As a kid, my Spanish was not that great so being in a
country where everyone speaks perfect Spanish and little to no English was difficult. If we wanted to
ride the bus it would not come to a full stop instead you would have to hop on while someone helped
you up. People often walked around with huge guns for protection and every restaurant, even the fast
food places, had a doorman with a gun. I was only there for two weeks and the first few days I showed
a bit of ethnocentrism because I was not used to those kind of things. In America the majority speak
English, guns are usually illegal, and busses usually stop for you to get on so experiencing all these

Plants are an essential part of survival for humans and animals and contribute significantly to various
areas of the lives of organisms. In order to better understand the different plants and its requirements
the growth and germination rates were investigated. The hypothesis stated that if the dicotolydeons
and monocotyledons are placed in the same environment and watered regularly, then the dicotyledons
will have a faster growth and germination rate.
In order for plants to survive, it is a necessity for the process of photosynthesis to occur.
Photosynthesis is the process wherein plants create oxygen and food for themselves (glucose) using
carbon dioxide, water and energy from the sun. Once this process is completed, plants are able to grow

different events. The duties I have as an intern have been very easy with to complete with no issues
because I have had experience and prior knowledge working inside of an athletic department. For
example, I have a lot of experience with working in Microsoft Excel. When it came to creating
budgets for each sport team I was able to create the proper worksheet to allow my supervisor to make
adjustments.
During an internship you would want to learn about the business that you are interning for. You
wouldn t want your experience to just be about answering phone and pushing papers. My time that I
have spent thus far interning in the Athletic Department has not been a waste of time. I have learned
that even though the Athletic Department is part of the school, it is still operated as a normal business.

I thought about the city of Baton Rouge. In the article from Detroit the author pointed out the
diversified group of participants at the rides that they put on, and how much fun was had by all. In my

There is a bike out there for anyone and everyone that wants to get out there and have some fun, get a
little exercise, and fresh air. There is no rule that says that you should become an all day, everyday
cyclist. Being a weekend rider or leisure cyclist is great fun, you have a hobby, you are getting some
exercise and having a good time at it. Commuting to work or school is not something that everyone
can do. Those of us who are fortunate, enough to be able to do so, know how lucky we are. Bike
