The questionnaires from Greek parents and teachers in the second year of the Erasmus+ H.A.P.P.E.N.S project show improvements in nutrition, personal time, quality time, physical health and well-being. Among teachers, reading for relaxation increased from 20% to 40% and finding time to rest during the day increased from 53% to 65%. Parents and teachers both increased their daily water consumption and physical activity. They also reported better ability to handle stress and improved overall health and well-being.

Studyingthe 2ndyear questionnaires of the Erasmus+ H.A.P.P.E.N.Sprojectwe see a
great improvementinparents’ andteachers’nutrition,personal andqualitytime andof
course theirphysical healthand well being.
More specificallyinthe secondyear specimenof the teachers’group, readingwasincreased
as a way of relaxation(40%of the questionnaire participantschose readingwhereasinthe
1st year onlya 20%). Alsomore teacherstryto findtime torelax/restduringdaytime (A
53% lastyearcomparedto a 65% in the 2nd year.
Apart fromthe noticeableimprovementof eatinghabits,the amountof waterconsumed
dailyhasincreasedsignificantly:50% of the participantsdrink7-9glassesdailycomparedto
a 6, 7% of the participantsthatdrankthe same quantity.
As regardsphysical activitythe participantshave increasedthe daysperweektheyexercise.
Thisyear a 50% of the participantsexercises3-5daysa week. Moreoverthe participationin
physical orathleticactivityhasbecome more frequent.Lastyear40% of people answered
that theyexercise rarely butthishaschangedtoa 50% of people exercisingveryoften.
Finallythere isanimportantchange inthe teachers’ abilitytohandle stressful situations
froma 53% who answeredaffirmativelylastyear toa 70% thisyear.
In the parents’resultsnowwe observe thatatthe endof the project theyevaluate higher
theirwellbeingandhealth,frommoderate toverygood(59, 2%).The numberof parents
aware of the qualityof foodthe familyconsumesdailyhasincreasedfroma40% to a 63,
2%. At the same time, people answeringthattheyhave switched toa healthierwayof
eatinghave remarkablyincreasedfroma20% to a 43%.
We mustconsiderimportantsuccessof the programme the adoptionof drinking7-9glasses
of waterdaily-somethingthatmanydieticiansare tryingtopasson.
Aboutwell beingandphysical activity we mustnote downthatthe percentage of people
walkingorrunningor usingthe bicycle asa dailymeansof transporthas increased toa 33%.
At the beginningof the projecta 66% answeredthattheyneverwalk, runoruse a bicycle to
getto work whereasatthe end of the projectthe percentage hasdroppedto a 30, 3% who
answeredthattheystill haven’tmanagedtochange.Alsothe participationtoathleticor
otheractivities hasincreasedfroma40% of never takingpartin anyof the above to a 34, 2%
of often doingso.
In conclusion,we couldnotleave outthe factthat at the endof the project 57, 9 of the
parents answeringthe questionnaire (comparedtoa 30% at the beginningof the project)
believetheyhave goodphysical healthand a positive view of themselves
