The World s Largest Solar Collectors And Energy Storage...
We have many different kind of energy source in our world and the ocean is a big part of one of
thought energy source. The ocean makes up more than 70% of the Earth s surface and it collects a lot
of sun s heat and energy. This will make it the world s largest solar collectors and energy storage
system and the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) will probably seems like a great tool to
have [7]. This energy source works is by using the solar energy collected from the sun by the ocean
and converting that energy into electric energy. The OTEC uses the warm ocean water that was heated
up from the sun (around 77 degrees Fahrenheit) to vaporize a working fluid with a low boiling point.
The working fluid expands and spins a generator, creating electricity. From there, the vapor is then
cooled down from the cold ocean water (around 41 degrees Fahrenheit) that is pumped up from the
deep parts of the ocean layer. This cause the vapor to turn back into the working fluid from before and
condenses back into a liquid. Because of this, the whole system is reusable and is a continually
electricity generating cycle [7]. This is only one type out of three OTEC systems, known as closed
cycle system. The other two systems will be explain later on in the paper. This paper will explain
different aspects of the OTEC systems, from the different types that are currently being used to the
costs and environmental effect to the pros and cons of the OTEC systems.
In OTEC, there are three different

A Transgenic Lines
Three independent homozygous transgenic lines with significantly higher Os08g01480 expression
were selected for further characterization. In early stages of vegetative growth on
Soilrite, no phenotypic difference was observed in transgenic lines in comparison to WT.
However, there was clear difference in bolting time between WT and transgenic lines
(Supplementary Fig. S2). The visible changes in early plant growth between WT and transgenic lines
were analyzed through measuring root length after growth on ½ MS plates for 11 days. All the
transgenic lines showed significantly increased root length compared to
WT plants. To study whether increase in root length was due to early germination, germination rate of
WT and transgenic lines was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the same time, significantly lower (~25%, 20%, 40%, and
7%, decrease) root length inhibition in transgenic plants was recorded in comparison to root length of
NT transgenic plants. (Fig. 1).
For salt and osmotic stress, WT and transgenic line were grown on NaCl (50 mM) and mannitol (150
mM) for 11 d. Root length of WT showed significant decrease (70%) as compared to transgenic line
(30% 50%) during salt stress as compared to NT; WT and transgenic seedlings, whereas in osmotic
stress, ~50% and up to 40% decrease was observed in WT and transgenic lines compared to NT; WT
and transgenic plants. It is concluded that in WT there was ~40% and 20% more reduction in case of
salt stress and osmotic stress respectively (Fig. 2).
For studying effect of cold and heat, after stratification seeds were kept at 20˚C and
37˚C respectively for 4 h and then transferred to control conditions. As much as ~60% and
40% decrease in root length of WT was noted during cold and heat stress, respectively when
compared to NT; WT plants, while ~25% and ~15% decrease of root length was recorded in
transgenic lines at time of heat and cold stress, respectively when compared to NT transgenic plants.
This result indicated ~40% and ~20% reduction in root length of WT compared to transgenic lines
subjected to cold and heat stresses (Fig. 3). These studies

50-50 by Langston Hughes
50 50 by Langston Hughes In the poem 50 50 by Langston Hughes, the theme is about a lonely
woman seeking love. She might be a young woman who left her family in the South and moved North
during the Great Migration for better opportunities, and that might be the reason why she feels she is
all alone in this world. Or, she might be a widow or someone who has lost a partner, or boyfriend. She
feels she is all alone because she has no man in her life. The monologue has a dual persona, a woman
and a man having a conversation. The first character in the poem is the woman who expresses the
things she does not have, and the second character is the man giving her advise on how to obtain the
things she is searching for. The woman is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He wants a relationship with her but it has to be 50 50 if she is willing. To be in a 50 50 relationship
with the woman he would be providing her the things she ain t got. She would have a man to hold her
hand, share her bed, and she would have regained the lost of her head. He is actually telling her to
trust him. He is willing to give up his time to spend with her, and she must be willing to share her bed
and money. Money is the power symbol, which indicates she might be a woman with some wealth.
The man wants a relationship with the woman, but he does not want to carry the full financial burden.
He wants a woman who will help support the union on a 50 50 basis. She must be willing to work to
share her money with him. In today s world it is such a financial burden when the man has to support
the family on one paycheck. When a woman works, she provides extra income to the household,
releasing the pressure of the man being the sole financial provider. The author is saying that in a
relationship both parties the man and the woman must have something to bring to the table, and it
should be on equal terms. Every human being wants to be loved and share love, but we have to speak
up and state what we want. In some cases we have to compromise, but we also have to be careful that
we don t compromise more than we re getting. As a black woman who has strived to live a

A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry
Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun is a remarkable play written in 1959 by an African American
author about an African American family. This time period was in the early days of the modern
awakening of civil rights awareness. It was a timely play challenging the then current stereotypical
view of a black family by depicting a realistic portrayal of a specific black family with aspirations,
hopes, dreams, dignity, and ambition as would be expected from all families regardless of race. The
play is also timeless because it presents relevant themes of preserving family unity and breaking
through racial stereotypes that still challenge current society. Robin Bernstein s critical analysis
Inventing a Fishbowl: White Supremacy and the Critical Reception of Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin
in the Sun , cites a reviewer from the Philadelphia Inquirer who asserts that this play is both timely
and timeless. We do not know if Miss Hansberry has written a timeless play ... but she has certainly
written a timely one. (Bernstein 23), furthermore Bernstein cites George Murray noted in the Chicago
American that the play couldn t be better timed for box office success. Its advent coincide with a
rising wave of general interest in the Negro. (Bernstein 23). Bernstein also notes Before long, the
votes swung overwhelmingly in the direction of dubbing A Raisin in the Sun timeless, that is, a
masterpiece. (Bernstein 24). This comment is supported by the fact this play is still

Double Love Story
So far, there is nothing substantial in the journal that would indicate Lacey had an affair. She never
mentioned being in love with Thomas or any other man for that matter. From what Casey had read so
far, Lacey was still enamored with Sean and wanted to work on repairing the relationship. It was
strange how similar Lacey s life was to her own. So what happened to cause the double homicide?
Without having sufficient evidence whatever she came up with as a plausible reason would be nothing
more than speculation. The sound of heavy footsteps walking up the stairs disrupted her musing. She
was alone, wasn t she? Did Ray come home? No. He said he would call her later tonight unless

With features distorted in pain, he looked directly at her. The longing in his eyes was unmistakable.
His mouth began to move. She couldn t hear any words. There was only silence. His hand rose

The Important Role Of Bureaucracy In The United States
I strongly believe that the bureaucracy is the real government. We the people just have a person in
office claiming to get things done. While congress passes laws, it would be somewhat impossible for
congress to make all the decisions that have to be made to translate the laws into action or to make
policies and choose actions on how the laws are to be carried out and enforced. So, then it looks like
bureaucrats run our country. Bureaucrats serve an important role by working with interest groups to
help get legislation presented to congressional subcommittees. Now with bureaucrats they all come
together from different agencies to form government policies. We Americans still have no clue as to
what really happens in those meetings or what anyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Interest groups ae known to have a great influence over the policies that are made in areas that affect
them. They all get what they want at the end of the day. However, the public eye does not see the
amount of money that is being spent supporting certain groups. An example of a huge iron triangle
would be the American Association for Retired People (AARP), the House Subcommittee on Aging,
and the Social Security Administration all working together to set government policy on Social
Security. They have a goal of keeping the elderly all together and looking out for their well being.

America s High Tech Sweatshops

Final Paper
How America s High Tech Sweatshops could lead to Brain Drain in the tech industry
Economic globalization has created an international skilled labor race, where developed countries,
compete for best and brightest human capital to advance their economies. By utilizing selective
immigration policies, these economically advanced countries target highly educated, and skilled labor
in foreign countries to meet their changing economic needs. The United States is no different and has
utilized special guest worker programs to strengthen its workforce. These guest worker programs have
sparked a host of controversial debates, especially during the 2016 presidential election.

workforce and not to replace it, but employers, especially in the information technology sector have
been hiring a large number of cheaper skilled labor from India. These skilled laborers are often
exposed to horrific working conditions or high tech sweatshops [footnoteRef:3] There have been
many proposed legislations to revamp the program in order to better protect American workers.
[footnoteRef:4] It is undeniable that domestically, the protections of American workers need to be
prioritized, but a hidden dimension to the debate is the potential for a massive exodus of foreign
workers since; the current U.S. climate and legislation, mainly through the current president s
executive orders, have been laced with anti immigrant sentiment. [3: Moira Herbst and Steve Hamm,

A Comparative Study Of The Integrated Kinnetic Energy In...
Review of A comparative study of the Integrated Kinetic Energy in the tropical cyclones in the north
east Pacific and the north Atlantic basins
Summary: The authors compare 2004 2013 TCs in the North Atlantic and East Pacific basins, using
IKE (TC extended best track data set) and rainfall (TRMM 3B42). The introduction defines the
concept of IKE and explains that a comparison of IKE in the EP and AL basins will be carried. The
following analysis provides the seasonal cycle of IKE and TC count, then shifts the focus to: the
relationship between IKE and TC genesis location the differences between the upper and lower
terciles of IKE in terms of:

TC location at maximum IKE
TC genesis location the relationship between IKE ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why is the analysis focused on genesis (Fig 2 and 5, Table 3)? Is there a hypothesized difference
between AL and EP when it comes to the relationship between location of genesis and maximum IKE?
What would that hypothesized difference tell us? What does the seasonal cycle of IKE and TC count
(Fig 1) tell us that is new? Are there expected differences with Fig 1 from Misra et al. (2013)? If TC
size explains most of IKE, the fact that IKE peaks in the fall should not come as a surprise: Liu and
Chan (1999) and Merrill (1984) have provided analyses of the size of TCs and have already
established that their size peaks in the Fall (Sept Oct). Note that the direct assertion that IKE is more
sensitive to TC size than peak wind speed is nowhere to be found in either Powell and Reinhold
(2007), Misra et al. (2013) or Kozar and Misra (2015). In fact, Misra et al. (2013) state that the peak in
TIKE is associated with a corresponding peak in larger sized storms in September because they also
determined that there is a tendency to larger TCs in September. Kozar and Misra (2015) note that IKE
is also tied to storm size and the many different processes that govern it. Besides the geometry of the
basin and the climatological atmospheric state, are there any other effects that could explain the
differences between AL and EP? It seems that parts of the analysis were designed

Importance Of Confucianism In The Film IP Man
In the film IP man directed by Wilson Yip, we are taken on an adventure with Master IP he lives In the

Everything is going wonderfully for the town until World War 2 starts and the Japanese invade China.
With this invasion comes General Miura who wants Master IP to teach the Japanese Wing Chun
because Admires his talent. He refuses and IP man and general Miura have a fight in front of the entire

Has some correlation and similarities to Confucianism. When Master IP states you abuse military
power, and turn it into violence to oppress others, (IP Man, Donnie Yen) this phrase was simply said to
help the viewer understand specifically how the Japanese don t understand Confucianism. To be more
specific in Confucianism there is a value called Rén (Chinese: 仁), ( Confucianism ) this value simply
states treat other s how you would want to be treated.
Bushido or in other words way of the warrior plays a huge role in how this film is displayed and
shown. Now I understand that the word Bushido specifically applies to Samurai. But there are still
some similarities to how Master IP did things compared to a Samurai, we will also look at how
Bushido affected the Japanese in this film. Now Master IP demonstrates all of the 8 virtues of Bushido
( The Bushido Code: The Eight Virtues of the Samurai ) throughout this film, but I have decided to
focus on just 2. Benevolence or Mercy ( The Bushido Code: The Eight Virtues of the Samurai ) and
Character and Self Control ( The Bushido Code: The Eight Virtues of the Samurai ). The Bushido
Code: The Eight Virtues of the Samurai define benevolence/mercy as A man with the power to

Abina and the Important Men Essay
Abina and the Important Men
Abina and the Important Men: a Graphical History was written by Trevor R. Getz and Liz Clarke. The
story of Abina Mansah is somewhat an inspiring graphical history based on an 1876 court transcript.
Abina, a woman of West Africa, was wrongfully enslaved and as a consequence, she took her former
master, Quamina Eddoo, to court. The overall setting took place on the Gold Coast during the 19th
century. The main scenes take place in the court room, which is filled with many important men. The
men included a British judge, two Euro African attorneys, countrymen, and an entire jury of wealthy,
high class local town leaders. This book is broken down into several parts; the graphical history,

Davis reminded Abina that even though all were free, Eddoo was an important man and the British
didn t like to alienate important men. Following, the magistrate, William Melton, agreed to hear the
case and sent at Quamina Eddoo on the charge of slavery. The trial started and Abina was questioned
as to why she believed she was a slave. Abina responded saying, They held me down, and cut my
beads, and I was told that I was to be their amperley their slave. (Chapter 2, page 24) Throughout the
court case and Abina s flashback to the court, the men of the court strived to somehow imposed their
own meanings and understandings of slavery upon Abina and silence her.
As mentioned earlier, Abina wanted to punish her master, Eddoo for wrongly enslaving her. Abina
wasn t as educated as the important men hearing her case, but she truly believed she was a slave. She
expressed herself in her own language which wasn t clearly understood by the important men of the
court. Because she lacked education causing her to contradict, become confused or inaccurately
answer the questions, Eddoo s lawyer and the men began to create a difference between being a slave
and acting upon free will like a slave. The magistrate, Mr. Melton, asked Abina if during her stay with
Eccoah and Quamina Eddoo, was she compelled to work against her will. (Chapter 3, page

On my first journal, I asked myself who was the evil Riis referred to. I did not know the Evils Riss

thirteenth, Riis clearly says that the evils are disgusting, careless, and unlawful landlords. The Negros
as Riis referred were charged higher rents than the white immigrants. However, The Negros was
considered cleaner than white European. They maintain their shanty habitation clean. On the contrary,
the poor white European people had bad and dirty habits. Chapter fifteen, Riis described how badly
the children of the East Side tenements were treated. The adults did not care. Some kids would go

Process Essay On Dog Groomers
Dog owners have to put in a lot of effort to keep their dog healthy, happy and looking good. In
addition to feeding and bathing your pet, you will have to trim their nails. You may be tempted to trim
your dog s nails yourself to save yourself a couple bucks, but when looking at the many ways you and
your dog can benefit from you allowing a pet groomer to tackle this task, you may actually change
your mind.
Safer for your dog: Your dog has a blood supply, also known as the quick, in his or her nails that you
will have to steer clear of when trimming the nails. Since most pet owners aren t exactly sure how to
avoid this blood supply, they end up cutting it, which can be quite painful for your dog. A groomer

Even with a regular nail clipper, you run the risk of not trimming your dog s nails to the appropriate
size when you do it yourself or hitting the blood supply. Dog groomers will always have the proper
grooming supplies, including nail clippers specially made for trimming dogs nails that will allow them
to get your dog s nails trimmed down to the perfect size.
Less stress for you: By now, you may have realized nail trimming is a difficult task to complete. On
top of you possibly not knowing how to properly trim your dog s nails, your dog will likely not make
this task easy. An antsy or hyper dog who won t still for a nail trim can stress you out, and this isn t
something that a lot of pet owners want to deal with, which is why they look to professionals for help.
Less stress for your dog: It is fairly easy for dogs to become stressed or feel uncomfortable. Nail
trimming is not something dogs are really interested in letting their owners do, so getting them to relax
can be more time consuming than actually trimming their nails. Pet groomers understand how dogs
think and how to calm them down when they are excited, scared or anxious, which is helpful when
you are trimming a dog s

Precipitation Of Crystallisation
What precipitated the crystallisation of the Sunni and Shi a sects?
Although the Sunni and Shi a sects are both Islamic and share a basic understanding of the Prophet,
theological differences developed and precipitated the crystallisation of them as separate sects.
Undeniably the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 636 triggered the crystallisation, as from this
tragic event contrasting ideologies about Islamic empire rule developed. In understanding this
question to mean, what caused two very distinct entities to form out of a larger group through
increasing political polarisation, religion plays a central role. However, as daily life proved there was

The Buyids did not claim to be Imams or descendants of the Alids, nonetheless they promoted the

of diagnosed thyroid cancers are classified as differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). More specifically,
these cancers are either papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) or follicular thyroid cancers (FTC), with 80.2%
being diagnosed as papillary and 11.4% as follicular (Avram, 2012). DTC is the fifth most common
cancer among females and has ten year survival rates of 97% for PTC and 94% for FTC (Khan et al.,
2015; Marcus, Whitworth, Surasis, Pai, Subramaniam, 2014). The majority of patients diagnosed with
DTC receive a near total or total thyroidectomy. Some patients also have lymph nodes or surrounding
tissue removed as well dependent on metastases (Avram, 2012). After removal of the thyroid gland,
patients can undergo radiographic scintigraphy in the nuclear medicine department to obtain
functional and anatomical information. Imaging the patient after the administration of I 123 or I 131
can identify precise locations of radioactivity in the entire body, which can identify distant metastases
or any remaining thyroid tissue. The size and location of radioactivity can influence whether doctors
chooses surgical excision, radioactive iodine therapy (RAI), or external radiation therapy for those
areas. Planar imaging has a sensitivity of 41%, specificity of 68%, and an accuracy of 61% compared
to SPECT imaging having rates of 45%, 89%, and 78%. With the combining of SPECT/CT,

Essay on Computer Unit 1 assignment
Kayja Billups Professor Davidoff CGS 1060C 6 January 2015 1. What is the difference between a
software application and an operating system? A computers operating system (OS) is the core of the
computer and is more than just software. The OS controls the computer s memory and processes as
well as its hardware and software. It is the brain of the computer. Software applications on the other
hand perform a certain task. Ex. Google Chrome provides internet and Adobe allows PDF files to be
read (among other things). The OS is what makes all of these applications work successfully and
accomplish whatever the application is designed to accomplish. 2. Describe a use for a software ...

hardware availability and other plugin options. Updating your software is crucial to the health of
computer. Software updates provide fixes for any holes in your security as well as general bug fixes
for your software to make it run more smoothly. Ex. Screen glitches, the OS being slow or lagging,
etc. Sometimes when new hardware comes out an update to your OS and other software will be
required in order to use the new hardware. Updates specific to your security software provide
protection against new malware that has been found. 6. Give an example of a typical software update
that you perform or that your computer provides for you. Be detailed in what software is being
updated and whether it is automatic or if you are required to provide a disk or file. Everytime Adobe
Acrobat releases an update my computer pops up with a nessage asking if I want to update it now or

The Reform Is Called System Of Social Protection And The...
In today s society life expectancy at birth is much higher than before. In Mexico the life expectancy at
birth is less than the United States. Mexico s life expectancy average is 74.6 years and in the United
States the average life expectancy is 78.8 years. The reason Mexico has a lower life expectancy has to
do with the healthcare system and the non communicable diseases like diabetes. It is the opposite in
the United States; Mexican Americans have a longer life expectancy than the Mexicans living in
Mexico. About fifty million Mexicans are uninsured and Mexico is trying to fix that by creating a
health care system reform. The reform is called System of Social Protection in Health (SSPH); it was
created to insure new financial rules for public health care. Also, to have community services and
provide personal health care. The funding used for the reform comes from federal taxes and some
states give contributions. The new SSPH was passed in April of 2003 and it was effective as of
January 1, 2004. The reason for the reform was to establish Universal Health Care in Mexico by 2010
(Frenk, 2006, 1528). Mexico has achieved Universal Health Care but it is still not enough for the poor
communities. The poor communities now have health insurance but it is not effective because they do
not receive the same quality of care. The community does not receive enough funding which means
not enough medication to provide. Individuals are more prone to receive medical services from

Different Types of Change Management Models
Introduction:
In this week literature synthesis different types of change/models of change were introduced. Many
change management models are adapted from natural science models such as chaos theory or the
behavior of living organisms to nature (Dooley, 1997). The application of these theories will be used
as a Meta theory for better understanding change management behavior in theory and practice.
Therefore change management models have evolved over the last decades.
In addition, change models can be used for changing a strategy (Gioia and Chittipeddi, 1991) or
changing an organization (Caldwell, 2003). The change itself can be done episodically or continuously
(Weick and Quinn, 1999).
Single, double and triple loop learning in change management
In my opinion an important feature of many models of change is that they underline single and double
loop learning rather than triple loop learning. Gioa and Chittipeddi (1991, p. 444) notes that the
Sensemaking and Sensegiving model contains a re visioning loop which is from my point of you a
typical double loop learning process according to Agrys and Schön (1978). Additionally, Weick and
Quinn (1999) describe single loop learning as a first order change and follow the typology of the life
cycle and evolution approach according to Van de Ven and Poole (1995). Further, Weick and Quinn
(1999) claim that a first order change creates only a minor alteration in a current conviction. Torbert
(1999, p.202) adds that the Meta theory

Political, Economic, And Political Changes In The Middle Ages
In the High Middle ages (after 1000 A.D) and beyond there were major political, economic and
intellectual changes that happed across Europe. The changes helped bring about new eras to the
European landscape. As Europe was brought into these new eras, it thus brought upon the end of the
Dark Ages. Looking first at the political changes that took place across Europe we can break it down
into four key areas, the first of which is England. England had suffered more from Viking invasions
than any other part of Europe and eventually fell under Viking rule with Viking Canute (McKay 254).
Until Canute passed away and William of Normandy claimed the throne, the English kings had little
power outside of calling for war. After William of Normandy took control of the throne, he limited the
power of the nobles and church officials, and built a unified monarchy to help centralize England
(McKay 255). Along with this he created laws, including a centralized tax system, and took control of
the judicial system. This centralizing of England continued with William s successors. In 1215, King
John was forced to sign the Magna Carta which limited the power of the king and later became the
basis for Parliament. The next area is France, which was known as the most powerful kingdom within
Europe, but the kings themselves lacked power. Again this changed once it fell under a new ruler,
Philip II. Philip II began waging war and expanding their territory starting with Normandy. Along with
this,

Fall Crocus Research Paper
Fall Crocus
Fall crocus (Crocus speciosus) starts its display of blue cheery blooms weeks before the foliage
appears starting in early fall and making it a suitable choice for adding color to gardens in autumn.
The perennial corm producing plant is hardy in USDA zones 4 through 9 located in moist soil that
drains well and situated in a sunny site. Plants grow about 6 inches tall and will multiply and
naturalize into the planting site, adding years of color to the garden. This is a tough and low
maintenance plant requiring little care other than keeping the planting site moist to promote the best
performance. Pump up the fall color by using it in mass plantings, as a ground cover, or in the front of
mixed borders.
Monkshood
Gardeners in USDA zones 3 through 7 can fill their fall gardens with tall shoots of bright purple blue
flowers by growing monkshood (Aconitum carmichaelii), a herbaceous perennial. It gets it common
name due to the flowers upper part resembling a hood. It blooms in late summer throughout early fall
and trimming off the spent flowers after a summer bloom encourages another round of flowering.
Growing up to 5 feet tall and almost as wide, monkshood grows best planted in a site receiving full
sun to partial shade and in fertile, well drained soils kept moist. It makes an attractive and hardy

Sports Artwork Research Paper
Artworks are frequently collected for personal gratification, while others choose art for its resale
value. You may actually have an interest somewhere in between the two. Sports art is one area where
both ends of the art appreciation spectrum are evident. If you take pleasure in sports art for the resale
value, you need to appreciate a few things when projecting resale value. What is Sports Art? Sports
Art is any painting, sculpture, or framed photographic image that depicts sports figures, or sporting
events. The types and numbers of pieces are extensive. Artwork with a base theme in sports ranges
from paintings of golf courses, to busts of famous sports figures. The more valuable pieces of sports

famous venue and an historic game that was played there. Famous Events Finding value in sports art
can include a blending of the two previously discussed subjects. Paintings and unique photography
from some of the most famous games, matches, or other types of sports events combine both the
venue and the players. There are a few oil prints of Muhammad Ali fights for instance, that are more
valuable than any single print of the celebrated boxer. Researching some of the famous events in
sports will expose you to a number of the more noteworthy participants and the venues where they
performed. If you have an interest in sports art the American Sport Are Museum Archives (ASAMA),

Nerinx Hall s Heagney Theatre Concert Report
I watched Aida at Nerinx Hall s Heagney Theatre. Because there is an ensemble, there are many
characters in this musical. However, the main eight characters in Aida are Aida, Amneris, Nehebka,
Radames, Zoser, Pharaoh, Mereb, and Amonasro. Aida begins in a modern museum that contains a
statue of a female pharaoh. The female pharaoh, Amneris, tells the audience a story, so the setting is
transported to Ancient Egypt. The settings in Ancient Egypt varies from a dock, a marketplace,
Amneris dressing room, a tombstone that is underground, and more. During this time, Egypt is at war
with Nubia. As the Egyptian soldiers are capturing Nubian women, Radames notices that Aida is

the entire musical, there was a spotlight on the characters the audience was supposed to focus on. The
spotlight is important when the audience has to shift their view from one character to another. For
example, Aida and Radames are talking in the middle of the stage, but Mereb comes on the far right of
the stage. In addition, he starts to speak. Without the spotlight, people who are watching the musical

dramatic scenes. For example, Zoser s soldiers end up killing a copper mine worker. The worker
eventually ends up dying in front of the triangle, and the triangle turns bright red. The color change

Attachment Theory And Children Of Divorce
Brittany Almony 05/10/2015 Social Psychology Attachment Theory and Children of Divorce
Attachment theory, or styles, is the way we describe relationships and bonds between people. In this
particular case it will be about the bond between two parents and the child as they struggle through the
troubles of divorce. In Dean McKay s article The Trauma of Divorce: Reducing the Impact of
Separation on Children we see that he identifies divorce for children as trauma, and that because of
trauma they become less secure in attachment. He begins to show the multiple ways that divorce can
cause an impact on children, if the child is going through an attachment stage. McKay also begins to
tell of how attachments can become weakened through divorce (McKay, 1997). His main area of
concern though is that if the attachment is weakened as a child how does it both them as an adult? In
the article McKay states, Divorce is a time of tremendous upheaval in families. Given the disruption,
should the divorce process occur at a point where the child s attachment style is not fully developed, it
stands to reason that the likelihood of secure attachment...is reduced. This shows that in order to
provide for the child they need to create a balance between them where the child can grow to have a
more stable environment, even if both parents aren t in the same living quarters. Then he begins to go
through the multiple stages of a child and their styles of attachment to their parents. According

Nail Polish Research Paper
Nail polish originated in China, and dates back to about 3000 BC.Nail polish wasn t nearly as
advanced as it is now, and the Chinese used it for many different reasons than we do nowadays. The
different colors they made represented different things to them, as opposed to today where we just
paint our nails for fun. Red, gold, and silver were the main colors used at that time with red
representing more powerful people in the higher classes. Beeswax, gum arabic, egg whites, natural
dyes and gelatin were the ingredients used to make nail polish before chemicals were introduced.
Petals from flowers such as roses gave the polish color. In nail polish, there are plasticizers. The
plasticizers are what makes the polish stick to your nail. Some main chemicals that are found in the
plasticizers are acid and castor oil, which also makes the nail polish flexible, preventing cracks in the
nail polish and therefor making it also last longer. Nitrocellulose dissolved in a solvent is mainly what

The Battle Of Luzon And The Pacific Theater
The Battle of Luzon, fought in the Pacific Theater in early 1945, is remembered as the World War Two
battle which had the highest net casualties. After Luzon, the largest island of the Philippines, was
captured by the Japanese in 1942, General MacArthur believed that it was extremely important to
recapture it. This took some time, but in 1944, a new campaign to recapture the Philippines was
created. The campaign started with attacks on Leyte and Mindoro, which prepared for Luzon. The US,
working together with the Commonwealth of the Philippines, successfully used multifaceted assault
tactics including the use of air force, naval, and ground troops to advance from the Lingayen Gulf to

Although Allied troops encountered many Japanese kamikaze planes which destroyed some warships,
the Allied Air Force successfully supported their troops on the ground. While the Sixth Army landed
more troops on the beach, the I Corps protected them and advanced eastward, and the XIV Corps
moved south toward Manila. Because of central Luzon s geographical features mostly open plains the
XIV Corps was able to quickly advance toward Manila. Around this time, another amphibious landing
of the Eighth Army occurred to the south of Manila. From there, the 11th Airborne Division also
advanced on Manila. While the XIV Corps was advancing southward, the I Corps switched to
defending their left flank. Meanwhile, General Yamashita had his strongest forces deployed in north
Luzon and around the Clark Air Base. However, the Japanese were disorganized because of lack of
communications and were not prepared for many US attacks. On their southward journey, when the
XIV Corps reached Clark Air Base, they battled for control until it was captured on January 29, which
also gave the US more supplies found within the base. Following this, the XIV Corps pushed towards
Manila and started the attack on January 31 from the north and south of the city. On February 4th the

2015). The goal of regenerative medicine is to restore function through therapy at levels such as the
gene, cell, tissue, or organ. For stem cells, physicians will obtain a patient s own stem cells by
aspirating tissue from the patient s hip bone or from their fat cells. These cells are centrifuged down to
identify and separate specific primitive cells that will help heal tissues (Alessandri et al., 2004). For
PRP, a patient s own blood is used and centrifuged down to obtain healing growth factors and the
platelets (Pantou et al., 2012). These are rich in protein to help stimulate healing. Once these products
are obtained, doctors are able to re introduce them into the patient s injured tissues. Regeneration of
tissues and ligaments have accomplished significant improvement in patient outcomes without
surgical intervention.
Discussion
Stem Cells Stem cells are unique cells that have self renewing properties and are able to differentiate
into one or many different specialized cell types. Pluripotent stem cells are generally abundant in
embryonic or fetal tissues, but the use of discarded embryos as sources of these cells raises many
ethical problems. Thus, adult stem cells are commonly used because they can differentiate into a wider
variety of cell types: bone marrow, adipose tissue, and skin tissue cells (Alessandri et al., 2004). The
use of adult stem cells has resulted in several advantages including a low

Du Pont Kevlar Aramid Industrial Fiber (Abridged) Essay

Kevlar is a fiber which Howard W. Swank, general manager of Du Pont s Textile Fibers Department,
and other Textile Fibers Department s managers were keen on. Kevlar is based on the former products
of Du Pont, such as nylon, and Nomex Aramid fiber. Kevlar s development was closely related to that
of Nomex. It is a much stronger and stiff fiber than nylon and steel, and can be stable at high
temperatures. After the Fiber B first came out in 1960s, Du Pont found some problems with it. Two

In 1969, the Textile Fiber Department sent Fiber B s samples to tire companies and aerospace
companies, and it got good responses. When Fiber B 1 was developed, the Textile Fiber Department
thought they understood how customers in the tire and aerospace industries would evaluated the new,
better material, so the department did not do any preliminary assessments. Even though Fiber B 1 is
superior to Fiber B, it still needs to be tested before putting it into the market in order to make sure it
works well. The customers feedback is very important to a new product. Du Pont did not continue to

When Du Pont invented Kevlar, it did not have a specific target market, and it just followed its history
market without creativity. Du Pont always wanted to produce a stronger fiber than before, and its
market has always been tire and aerospace industries. After the promotion, Du Pont focused on the tire
cord market. I think Du Pont chose the right market. The tire market is an existing market with large
potential. From 1970 to 1973, the tire cord consumption was increasing from $539 million of pounds
to $683 million of pounds. As radial tires entered the tire market, the older materials could not satisfy

An Exploration Of The Omnipotence Of Death
Amanda Stevenson Dr. Sigler EN 317 5 April 2016 An Exploration of the Omnipotence of Death
Initially, it seems as if the Death presented in Emily Dickinson s Because I could not for Death was
meant to parallel a suitor. In fact, Chris Semansky claims that Death in the poem is personified as a
suitor who takes his potential bride away from her busy life (Semansky). However, with further
investigation, it becomes evident that Death is actually a representation of God, extinguishing the
possibility of a romantic aspect. Death does not show any definite affection toward the speaker, but
rather, He is kind and respectful, which confirms that Death does not have to be seen as a suitor.
Although there is no explicit mention of spirituality within the poem, given Dickinson s Christian
background, along with her consistent poetic themes involving life and death from a religious
standpoint, an extended metaphor of God as Death is feasible. Death initially stops for the speaker
because she is unable to stop for herself, revealing the inabilities of mankind and the need for help in
some form. In Because I could not stop for Death , Dickinson reveals that man s short fallings are
consolidated through the manifestation of God s power. This is done through the illustration of a
carriage ride as well as the strategic use of a flashback. In alignment with Dickinson s other poems,
Because I could not stop for Death does not actually have a title. By taking the

Signal processing within the amygdala is further regulated by interactions with a network of external
structures. In particular, the dMT and its projections to the CeL have been demonstrated to play a role
in fear memory retrieval. Notably, the dMT is assumed to be extensively modulated by opioids

The Core Components Of The Social Exchange Theory
Social Exchange Theory is grounded in the idea that people assess their relationships from an
economic perspective when pertaining to costs and rewards that are identified amongst different
relational partners. It is within this paper that we discuss the core components that make up the theory,
the possible advantages and disadvantages of its use, as well as touch base on a real world
communication example the Social Exchange Theory can be associated with.
There are multiple core components that have been identified and further constructed in which make
up the Social Exchange Theory. West and Turner (2014) further explain that costs are the factors that
contribute to the negative value we place on relationships while rewards are rather the positive values.
Additionally, West and Turner proceed with the idea that we evaluate all types of relationships by
using the following equation:
Worth = Rewards Costs
When rewards are greater than the costs, or the final amount is a positive number, it is considered to
be a positive relationship, whereas a negative number would indicate the relationship to be negative.
The Social Exchange Theory then acknowledges the worth of these relationships and the outcomes
that will be endured, or whether or not relationships will hold stable or instead be terminated. It is the
idea that individuals enter into and maintain relationships as long as it is satisfying both person s self
interest. Social Exchange Theory is based on the idea that

Descriptive Essay On Auschwitz Concentration Camp
The outstretched, everlasting field of grass flew past my eyes as I was driven across the cracked
bumpy road with 10 other prisoners. The old rusted truck making noises every time we hit a crack in
the road. In the distance I could see the huge flag of the Nazis. The blood red background and jet black
lines crossing each other was the symbol of this terrible time. Hours passed and we came to a
screeching stop. Their it was, Auschwitz concentration camp. Located near the industrial town of
Oswiecim in southern Poland... (Berenbaum). The ruthless soldiers grabbed us out of the bed of an old
truck. Clank, clank . Our shackles hitting each other as we were forced to shuffle in a straight line.
Back off! I shouted at the ruthless soldier as he manhandled me onto the ground.
Watch it! I don t think you understand the power I have against you. Really, I questioned. You think
your tough and all?
Just shut your mouth and walk... he managed to get out.
Day grew into night and the sun went down. The orange and red sky above me was breathtaking. The
camp was so big that it was spread out into smaller sections. Auschwitz, also known as the Auschwitz
Birkenau, opened in 1940 and was the largest of the Nazi concentration death camps ( History ). Wake
up everyone, screamed the Nazis, it s time for work! Ugh... I whispered under my breath. The sun rose
high in the sky beating down on everyone. A loud, ear piercing bell sounded. The soldiers that were
watching over us

Assignment Title/Brief: Case Not Bring Evil: Google
Introduction:
The case study will provide a brief history of Google and will seek to outline the struggle by Google
and the challenges faced by them to abide by their informal corporate motto Don t be Evil . The
purpose of the report is to utilise a real life example to illustrate theories of human behaviour at work.
In addition, this case study will encourage the reader to think critically about the issues and debates it
outlines. The structure of the report will be a clear layout and will demonstrate the influence of

Removing unnecessary layers of management.
Lower overall costs.
Increased resolution times for decision making and responses.
(b)
The company s development has stemmed from a Matrix Structure.
A cross functional organizational structure i.e. a matrix organizational structure such as Google could
typically have three main characteristics:
Function based
Product based
Openness
Function would be used as a basis to group employees together for example grouping together Sales,
Engineering Design teams and Product Managers.
Staff could be group for a specific task such as the development of their Nexus devices.
Google s structure because of its open source cultural core resulted in it seeking out bright recruits
who can think quickly, imaginatively and unconventionally.
Their structure also evolved to allow teams to effectively bypass middle management and report
directly up to and including their CEO.
2. Doing no Evil

The Great Transformation Of Japan After World War II
After World War II a large of Japans transportation systems and cities industries were extremely
harmed (Japan guide.com, N.D). In contrast with China, Japan did not participate in a civil war,
however the effect of World War II killed 3 million individuals, cities destroyed from atomic bombs
from the United States which left a large number of citizens homeless. Regardless of this, great
transformation started. From 1945 and 1952 the United States and its ally s forces, Great Britain,
Republic of China and Soviet Union set out in the restoration of Japan. The US possessing powers,
drove by General Douglas A. MacArthur, enacted widespread military, political, economic and social

If Beale Street Could Talk By James Baldwin
If Beale Street Could Talk Analysis Essay In the novel, If Beale Street Could Talk, James Baldwin
uses many rhetorical strategies to emphasize the unfair treatment that African Americans faced in
early US history. Through the point of view, imagery, and time elements, the situations of which the
characters find themselves in are more effective. Each device is place and used to allow readers to feel
as if they are going through the difficulties and the happiest moments as another character in the book,
and raises awareness to the trials that they faced. Right from the start, Baldwin catches readers
attention by using a point of view as if the reader is the character. I look at myself in the mirror (3). It
is not Tish looking in the mirror, it is the reader. This makes the reader think of what they see when
they themselves look ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also help add depth to the story, giving readers a glimpse of what happened even before the story
had begun. I never really noticed Fonny until once we got into a fight, after school. This fight didn t
really have anything to do with Fonny and me at all (10). This small moment of looking back allows
readers to know that they weren t always friends, but through hard times, found each other and
became friends, which led to them being lovers. Tish and Fonny talking in the jail is not where the
story really starts, it is just a part of it, because the true beginning is where they met, and where their
friendship began. One of the most important memories mentioned is the time when Fonny and Tish
admitted their love for each other. He said, not moving, And you ve always been mine no? I nodded
again... I just know that I love you (75). This let their hearts be open to the readers, and for the readers
to feel joy and excitement for something they knew from the beginning, but just wished to be said

Diomedes Poetry Analysis
Then, when the Achaeans start loosing, Athena and Hera harness Heras chariot and put on their armor.
When they get Zeus approval to aid the Acheans, they fly to the battlefield, and Hera gives courage to
the Achaean forces.Athena flies to Diomedes to remind him that she will protect him and that there
should be no reason to be afraid, in fact, she criticizes him. Diomedes replies that Ares is dominating
the battle resulting Athena to get into Diomedes chariot to attack Ares. With Athena s help, Diomedes
spears Ares; In a panic, Ares flies away. The gods constantly intervene in the war, and to some extent,
the tides of war can be measured by a gods intervention. Usually, when a god arrives, it changes the
outcome on the battlefield, as soldiers will are given new courage. With Athena s help, Diomedes
glory reaches its peak as he spears the god of war himself. The passage is interesting because it
suggests the relationship between free will and divinity in the poem. Diomedes deemed a strong
fighter, and yet he s dependent upon the gods for support. He not a free agent: instead, he needs the
help of gods and goddesses. In this way, the passage reinforces why religion and divine worship are so
important in the poem: without the gods maneuvering them, the characters couldn t accomplish much.
Finally, the gods intervention is a reinforcement that the battle between Achaea and Troy is a battle
between groups of gods in conflict. At the beginning of book four, the

Essay On Ear Cropping
For years, society has the controversy of allowing veterinarians to legally perform ear cropping and
tail docking as a cosmetic surgery on dogs or perceived as crossing the line of animal cruelty; yet, the
aspect of animal cruelty comes into action after surgery, during the recovering process of taping and
bandaging that sometimes needs to be done after the surgery amounts to animal cruelty and is
indefensible (Dunn) [Figure 1]. In other words, your companion has to go through a painful recovery
that is inhumane in order for the results to turn out normal , and it cannot be denied. This does not
include the unexpected future risk and problems that could arise at any moment just to change your
dog s appearance. Although animals cannot express their opinion, research suggests not to allow
owners to perform tail docking and ear cropping procedures on their dog because of the risk and
health problems affiliated with this painful procedure.
The practice performed by a professionally trained veterinarian is greatly debated, but it gained a
major breakthrough in 2008 when the AVMA announced it has denounced the practice of ear cropping
and tail docking, due to the concern of performing such an intense surgery for a cosmetic purpose
instead of an advised medical reason that contains no benefits determined by a professional (Becker).
The United States recently has been under much pressure and scrutiny by surrounding nations for not
restricting or banning entirely the unnecessary

  • 2. The World s Largest Solar Collectors And Energy Storage... We have many different kind of energy source in our world and the ocean is a big part of one of thought energy source. The ocean makes up more than 70% of the Earth s surface and it collects a lot of sun s heat and energy. This will make it the world s largest solar collectors and energy storage system and the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) will probably seems like a great tool to have [7]. This energy source works is by using the solar energy collected from the sun by the ocean and converting that energy into electric energy. The OTEC uses the warm ocean water that was heated up from the sun (around 77 degrees Fahrenheit) to vaporize a working fluid with a low boiling point. The working fluid expands and spins a generator, creating electricity. From there, the vapor is then cooled down from the cold ocean water (around 41 degrees Fahrenheit) that is pumped up from the deep parts of the ocean layer. This cause the vapor to turn back into the working fluid from before and condenses back into a liquid. Because of this, the whole system is reusable and is a continually electricity generating cycle [7]. This is only one type out of three OTEC systems, known as closed cycle system. The other two systems will be explain later on in the paper. This paper will explain different aspects of the OTEC systems, from the different types that are currently being used to the costs and environmental effect to the pros and cons of the OTEC systems. • 4. 50-50 by Langston Hughes 50 50 by Langston Hughes In the poem 50 50 by Langston Hughes, the theme is about a lonely woman seeking love. She might be a young woman who left her family in the South and moved North during the Great Migration for better opportunities, and that might be the reason why she feels she is all alone in this world. Or, she might be a widow or someone who has lost a partner, or boyfriend. She feels she is all alone because she has no man in her life. The monologue has a dual persona, a woman and a man having a conversation. The first character in the poem is the woman who expresses the things she does not have, and the second character is the man giving her advise on how to obtain the things she is searching for. The woman is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He wants a relationship with her but it has to be 50 50 if she is willing. To be in a 50 50 relationship with the woman he would be providing her the things she ain t got. She would have a man to hold her hand, share her bed, and she would have regained the lost of her head. He is actually telling her to trust him. He is willing to give up his time to spend with her, and she must be willing to share her bed and money. Money is the power symbol, which indicates she might be a woman with some wealth. The man wants a relationship with the woman, but he does not want to carry the full financial burden. He wants a woman who will help support the union on a 50 50 basis. She must be willing to work to share her money with him. In today s world it is such a financial burden when the man has to support the family on one paycheck. When a woman works, she provides extra income to the household, releasing the pressure of the man being the sole financial provider. The author is saying that in a relationship both parties the man and the woman must have something to bring to the table, and it should be on equal terms. Every human being wants to be loved and share love, but we have to speak up and state what we want. In some cases we have to compromise, but we also have to be careful that we don t compromise more than we re getting. • 8. A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun is a remarkable play written in 1959 by an African American author about an African American family. This time period was in the early days of the modern awakening of civil rights awareness. It was a timely play challenging the then current stereotypical view of a black family by depicting a realistic portrayal of a specific black family with aspirations, hopes, dreams, dignity, and ambition as would be expected from all families regardless of race. The play is also timeless because it presents relevant themes of preserving family unity and breaking through racial stereotypes that still challenge current society. Robin Bernstein s critical analysis Inventing a Fishbowl: White Supremacy and the Critical Reception of Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun , cites a reviewer from the Philadelphia Inquirer who asserts that this play is both timely and timeless. We do not know if Miss Hansberry has written a timeless play ... but she has certainly written a timely one. (Bernstein 23), furthermore Bernstein cites George Murray noted in the Chicago American that the play couldn t be better timed for box office success. Its advent coincide with a rising wave of general interest in the Negro. (Bernstein 23). • 10. The Important Role Of Bureaucracy In The United States I strongly believe that the bureaucracy is the real government. We the people just have a person in office claiming to get things done. While congress passes laws, it would be somewhat impossible for congress to make all the decisions that have to be made to translate the laws into action or to make policies and choose actions on how the laws are to be carried out and enforced. So, then it looks like bureaucrats run our country. Bureaucrats serve an important role by working with interest groups to help get legislation presented to congressional subcommittees. If TC size explains most of IKE, the fact that IKE peaks in the fall should not come as a surprise: Liu and Chan (1999) and Merrill (1984) have provided analyses of the size of TCs and have already established that their size peaks in the Fall (Sept Oct). Note that the direct assertion that IKE is more sensitive to TC size than peak wind speed is nowhere to be found in either Powell and Reinhold (2007), Misra et al. (2013) or Kozar and Misra (2015). In fact, Misra et al. (2013) state that the peak in TIKE is associated with a corresponding peak in larger sized storms in September because they also determined that there is a tendency to larger TCs in September. Kozar and Misra (2015) note that IKE is also tied to storm size and the many different processes that govern it. In Mexico the life expectancy at birth is less than the United States. Mexico s life expectancy average is 74.6 years and in the United States the average life expectancy is 78.8 years. The reason Mexico has a lower life expectancy has to do with the healthcare system and the non communicable diseases like diabetes. It is the opposite in the United States; Mexican Americans have a longer life expectancy than the Mexicans living in Mexico. About fifty million Mexicans are uninsured and Mexico is trying to fix that by creating a health care system reform. The reform is called System of Social Protection in Health (SSPH); it was created to insure new financial rules for public health care. Also, to have community services and provide personal health care. The funding used for the reform comes from federal taxes and some states give contributions. The new SSPH was passed in April of 2003 and it was effective as of January 1, 2004. The reason for the reform was to establish Universal Health Care in Mexico by 2010 (Frenk, 2006, 1528). • 23. Different Types of Change Management Models Introduction: In this week literature synthesis different types of change/models of change were introduced. Many change management models are adapted from natural science models such as chaos theory or the behavior of living organisms to nature (Dooley, 1997). The application of these theories will be used as a Meta theory for better understanding change management behavior in theory and practice. Therefore change management models have evolved over the last decades. In addition, change models can be used for changing a strategy (Gioia and Chittipeddi, 1991) or changing an organization (Caldwell, 2003). The change itself can be done episodically or continuously (Weick and Quinn, 1999). Single, double and triple loop learning in change management In my opinion an important feature of many models of change is that they underline single and double loop learning rather than triple loop learning. Gioa and Chittipeddi (1991, p. 444) notes that the Sensemaking and Sensegiving model contains a re visioning loop which is from my point of you a typical double loop learning process according to Agrys and Schön (1978). Additionally, Weick and Quinn (1999) describe single loop learning as a first order change and follow the typology of the life cycle and evolution approach according to Van de Ven and Poole (1995). Further, Weick and Quinn (1999) claim that a first order change creates only a minor alteration in a current conviction. Torbert (1999, p.202) adds that the Meta theory ... Political, Economic, And Political Changes In The Middle Ages In the High Middle ages (after 1000 A.D) and beyond there were major political, economic and intellectual changes that happed across Europe. The changes helped bring about new eras to the European landscape. As Europe was brought into these new eras, it thus brought upon the end of the Dark Ages. Looking first at the political changes that took place across Europe we can break it down into four key areas, the first of which is England. England had suffered more from Viking invasions than any other part of Europe and eventually fell under Viking rule with Viking Canute (McKay 254). Until Canute passed away and William of Normandy claimed the throne, the English kings had little power outside of calling for war. After William of Normandy took control of the throne, he limited the power of the nobles and church officials, and built a unified monarchy to help centralize England (McKay 255). Along with this he created laws, including a centralized tax system, and took control of the judicial system. This centralizing of England continued with William s successors. In 1215, King John was forced to sign the Magna Carta which limited the power of the king and later became the basis for Parliament. The next area is France, which was known as the most powerful kingdom within Europe, but the kings themselves lacked power. Again this changed once it fell under a new ruler, Philip II. Philip II began waging war and expanding their territory starting with Normandy. Along with this, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, Aida and Radames are talking in the middle of the stage, but Mereb comes on the far right of the stage. In addition, he starts to speak. Without the spotlight, people who are watching the musical may wonder where the voice is coming from. Lastly, lighting engages the audience by creating very dramatic scenes. • 28. Attachment Theory And Children Of Divorce Brittany Almony 05/10/2015 Social Psychology Attachment Theory and Children of Divorce Attachment theory, or styles, is the way we describe relationships and bonds between people. In this particular case it will be about the bond between two parents and the child as they struggle through the troubles of divorce. In Dean McKay s article The Trauma of Divorce: Reducing the Impact of Separation on Children we see that he identifies divorce for children as trauma, and that because of trauma they become less secure in attachment. He begins to show the multiple ways that divorce can cause an impact on children, if the child is going through an attachment stage. McKay also begins to tell of how attachments can become weakened through divorce (McKay, 1997). His main area of concern though is that if the attachment is weakened as a child how does it both them as an adult? In the article McKay states, Divorce is a time of tremendous upheaval in families. Given the disruption, should the divorce process occur at a point where the child s attachment style is not fully developed, it stands to reason that the likelihood of secure attachment...is reduced. This shows that in order to provide for the child they need to create a balance between them where the child can grow to have a more stable environment, even if both parents aren t in the same living quarters. Then he begins to go through the multiple stages of a child and their styles of attachment to their parents. According ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The goal of regenerative medicine is to restore function through therapy at levels such as the gene, cell, tissue, or organ. For stem cells, physicians will obtain a patient s own stem cells by aspirating tissue from the patient s hip bone or from their fat cells. These cells are centrifuged down to identify and separate specific primitive cells that will help heal tissues (Alessandri et al., 2004). For PRP, a patient s own blood is used and centrifuged down to obtain healing growth factors and the platelets (Pantou et al., 2012). These are rich in protein to help stimulate healing. Pluripotent stem cells are generally abundant in embryonic or fetal tissues, but the use of discarded embryos as sources of these cells raises many ethical problems. • 39. An Exploration Of The Omnipotence Of Death Amanda Stevenson Dr. Sigler EN 317 5 April 2016 An Exploration of the Omnipotence of Death Initially, it seems as if the Death presented in Emily Dickinson s Because I could not for Death was meant to parallel a suitor. In fact, Chris Semansky claims that Death in the poem is personified as a suitor who takes his potential bride away from her busy life (Semansky). However, with further investigation, it becomes evident that Death is actually a representation of God, extinguishing the possibility of a romantic aspect. Death does not show any definite affection toward the speaker, but rather, He is kind and respectful, which confirms that Death does not have to be seen as a suitor. Although there is no explicit mention of spirituality within the poem, given Dickinson s Christian background, along with her consistent poetic themes involving life and death from a religious standpoint, an extended metaphor of God as Death is feasible. Death initially stops for the speaker because she is unable to stop for herself, revealing the inabilities of mankind and the need for help in some form. In Because I could not stop for Death , Dickinson reveals that man s short fallings are consolidated through the manifestation of God s power. This is done through the illustration of a carriage ride as well as the strategic use of a flashback. In alignment with Dickinson s other poems, Because I could not stop for Death does not actually have a title. By taking the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are multiple core components that have been identified and further constructed in which make up the Social Exchange Theory. West and Turner (2014) further explain that costs are the factors that contribute to the negative value we place on relationships while rewards are rather the positive values. Additionally, West and Turner proceed with the idea that we evaluate all types of relationships by using the following equation: Worth = Rewards Costs When rewards are greater than the costs, or the final amount is a positive number, it is considered to be a positive relationship, whereas a negative number would indicate the relationship to be negative. The Social Exchange Theory then acknowledges the worth of these relationships and the outcomes that will be endured, or whether or not relationships will hold stable or instead be terminated.
