Romeo and Juliet it demonstrates how fate could bring two people together. Romeo and Juliet felt they
should be together and they didn t care what it took. They were willing to give their lives. Their love
ended in death. They could then be together in heaven. Everything in life happens for a reason, and

Investing in the Stock Market
Investing in the Stock Market Matt Gonzales Abstract The purpose of this paper is to inform the
average investor of how to make money in the stock market. The stock market should be thought of as
a long term savings vehicle. Investing in the stock market should not be associated with gambling. By
investing in high quality U.S. companies, the investor in a company profits along with the company.
As a shareholder, when the company makes money, the investor also does. There are many ways to
invest in the stock market, but it is my opinion that investing in mutual funds is probably the most
appropriate way for the average person, without expertise in stock analysis, to make money. This
paper plans to inform the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, if a person contributes $2,000 to their IRA, they will receive money back on their tax
return at the end of the year. If that person is in the 28% tax bracket, they will receive $560 back
($2,000 X 28%). The second type of IRA is known as Roth IRA. After tax money is contributed to the
Roth IRA, therefore the investor does not receive income tax money back at the end of the year, but
the beauty of the Roth IRA is that when the money is withdrawn at the time of retirement (age 70), the
profit is completely tax free, both state and federal (rothirarules.net, 2011). So, it is easy to see that the
Roth IRA is an excellent vehicle for retirement investing. It makes much more sense to use a Roth
IRA for retirement than a traditional one. With a 401k account, the money that is invested is referred
to as pre tax money. With pre tax money, this money is placed into the account before it is taxed. An
example of this would be if an individual earned $100 before it was taxed by the federal and state
governments, the entire $100 would be placed in the account to be invested. After tax money means
that the same $100 would first be taxed federally as normal income (usually 28%) and then taxed by
the state (usually 6%), to leave only $66 of the original $100 to now be spent or invested. In addition
to the tax advantage, the main benefit of the 401k is

Essay On Valuation Risk And Return
Valuation, Risk, and Return
Five years ago, Laissez Faire Recliners issued $10,000,000 of corporate bonds with a 30 year
maturity. The bonds have a coupon rate of 10.125%, pay interest semiannually, and have a par value
of $1,000 per bond. The bonds are currently trading at a price of $879.625 per bond. A 25 year
Treasury bond with a 6.825% coupon rate (paid semi annual) and $1,000 par is currently selling for
$975.42. In order to find the yield spread between the corporate bonds and the Treasury bonds we
must first find the yields of both bonds. The yield is the amount of return an investor can expect to
receive from a bond. The yield for the corporate bond (found using the yield formula in excel) is
11.57%. The yield for the Treasury ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition we believe the firm is in a constant state of growth, and our required rate of return for
investments at the risk level of 18%. The firm s common stock is currently trading for $45 per share.
If we are looking at whether or not we would purchase these shares or not we must first calculate the
return on equity, which is done by net income (1,417,500) by the stockholders equity (6,000,000),
which gives us a return of equity of 15.5%. This is only accurate when calculating the present value of
cash flows method. Another method is the free cash flow method, which we calculate by looking at
the year, growth status, growth rate, FCF calculation, FCF and WACC. The growth status is given as
constant and the growth rate is given at 15.5%. This makes the FCF calculation of 1.15. The first year
FCF is also given as $109,237. In order to calculate the following years FCF we take the first years
FCF ($109,237) and multiply it by (1+WACC) the weighted average cost of capital is also given at the
appropriate discount rate of 15.83%. Using the before mentioned formula we find that the FCF of year
two is $126529.22. If Laissez Faire s common stock were to have a more fluctuated growth pater
(25% in years 1 through 6, 20% in years 7 through 10, and 15% for years 11 and beyond), the
purchase decision would change. This growth is exponentially more profitable to the purchaser and

AVO Sensitivity in a reservoir undergoing
Enhanced oil recovery using steam flood
Introduction
Steam flooding sometimes known as a steam drive is one of the most conventional thermal EOR
Enhanced oil recovery method that is applied in heavy oil reservoirs. This technique also is referred to
as continuous steam injection and steam drive, where steam is injected continuously through an
injection well or wells, while oil is produced via different wells where the oil is heat to higher
temperatures and to thereby decrease its viscosity enhancing its hydraulic properties and allowing its
flow through the surrounding formations toward the producing wells, alternatively a second

chamber. The overburden was assumed to have a constant P wave, S wave and density of 2600 m/s,
1600 m/s and 2500 kg/m3, respectively.
Background and theory
AVO results from energy partitioning‟, i.e. when a seismic wave hit a boundary, portion of energy is
reflected and the rest propagates through. If the angle of incidence is not zero, pressure wave energy is
partitioned further into reflected and transmitted as P and S components. The ratio between of the
reflected and transmitted energy amplitudes is dependent on the disparity in physical properties across
the boundary; mainly shear velocity (Vs), compressional wave velocity (Vp), and density (ρ). But, It is
also notable that reflection amplitudes also depend on the angle of progation between incidence and
the surface as shown in the figure.
The reflection coefficient of a seismic wave reflecting off a boundary separating two medias as a
product from a normal incidence, can be expressed simply as R:
R=(Z_1 Z_0)/(z_1+z_0 )
where Z0 and Z1 are the acoustic impedances of the first and second medium, respectively, although
this simple relation cannot be utilized in case of abnormal incidents, due to interchange conversion
between P waves and S waves, and can be described by Zoeppritz equations, where the amplitudes of
reflected and refracted waves at a planar interface for an incident P wave as a function of the

The Leadership Of The Organizational Leadership
The organizational leadership drivers have been historically and predominantly filled with male
leaders. Determined factors, however fictitious, in writing, as well as perceived by organizational
Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), shareholders, Owners, and
employees, female leaders were viewed through the stereotypical categories that included limitations.
Moreover, gender discriminating society professes the positions for men and women would not be
compensated equally. Correlating differences in gender leadership is not as fictional as it may appear.
The discovery of a biochemical distinction between the genders may bring some credibility to the
historical insights. While men do have higher levels of testosterone and women have higher levels of
oxytocin, men and women behaviors are directly affected in speaking up and in connectedness
(Moskowitz, 2015). Merit to these perceptions may be in question. Even though women have been
exceedingly surpassing males in scholastic academics, researchers persistently dispute the differences
in leadership abilities and capabilities. The majority of investigators believe the important differences
in genders leadership are derived from the differences in power, status, and additional influences
related to the gender over the educational level. Mindful that gender discrimination has extensively
occurred which resulted in men being linked to leadership traits; this has implied men have greater

Symbolism in the poem the Walrus and the Carpenter
Lewis Carroll s The Walrus and the Carpenter could possibly be just a nonsensical rhyme meant
purely for entertainment value. The fact that this is a nonsense poem inside a nonsense story makes it
all the more difficult to decipher a deeper meaning. Like the author, who had a darker side to him, so
too might his work. Carroll made this statement in a letter to an American friend,I m very much afraid
I didn t mean anything but nonsense. Still, you know, words mean more than we mean to express
when we use them; so a whole book ought to mean a great deal more than the writer means. So,
whatever good meanings are in the book, I m glad to accept as the meaning of the book. (Shaw)This

in Shaw)The youthful oysters, who have not yet dealt with such persons, agree to venture out on a
jaunt. The trip down the beach symbolizes the blind way the common man will follow the politician to
his eminent demise. The oysters gather and more and more follow the two leaders down the length of
the beach. The Walrus and the Carpenter lead the oysters a great distance until the oysters are
exhausted from the journey. Stopping on a rock that is conveniently low, the Walrus gathers up his
followers, who stand in neat rows close by, and begins a speech with the most remembered portion of
Carroll s poem. The time has come, the Walrus said,? To talk of many things:?Of shoes and ships and
sealing wax ?Of cabbages and kings ?And why the sea is boiling hot ?And whether pigs have wings.
(Carroll 61 66 qtd. in Shaw)The Walrus s speech is a remark on politicians gathering listeners and
mesmerizing them into thinking that everything they say is pertinent to them when really it is all
nonsense (De Rooy). Oysters do not care about shoes, they do not even have feet, which Carroll points
out in a previous line. Before the walk, the oysters did make sure that

The End of the Republic
Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus joined forces to form a triple leadership called the First Triumvirate. The
rulers of Rome s states and colonies suspected that one man would soon emerge as the complete ruler.
Antipater, ruler of Idumea, played one ruler against the other to seek favor. Crassus invaded Jerusalem
and stole the temple treasure while war broke out between Pompey and Caesar. Antipater sided with
Pompey until Pompey was defeated, and then switched his loyalty to Caesar. Caesar abolished the five
districts and named Antipater procurator of all. Caesar became governor of the southern strip of Gaul,
which Rome had annexed some sixty years earlier. He defeated the Celtic Gauls, conquering a huge
area corresponding to modern France ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After new victories over former troops of Pompey in Asia Minor, North Africa, and Spain, he returned
to Rome in triumph. Less than a year later, on the Ides of March, he lay stabbed to death on the floor
of the Senate at the foot of Pompey s statue, the victim of sixty senators who thought of themselves as
heroic tyrannicides. Caesar s friend, Anthony, defeated Caesar s enemies in northern Greece. He then
named Antipater s sons, Herod and Phasael, as tetrarchs (rulers of fourths) of Galilee. (Packer) When
the Parthians invaded Syria and Palestine to aid a Hasmonean attempt to regain power, Herod fled to
his fortress at Masada on the western shore of the Dead Sea. His older brother, Phasael, was captured
and committed suicide. Herod traveled to Rome, where the Roman Senate named him king of Judea.
Anthony and his troops finally overpowered the Parthians and their Seleucid allies, and Anthony
settled in Jerusalem. The strain of imperial expansion was so great that Rome took in no new
territories for least fifty years after Caesar s birth. Rome ruled most of Greece, Syria, Judea, and North
Africa. Only one Greek influenced nation remained intact. This was Egypt, ruled by Queen Cleopatra.

National Football League Players Association Case Summary
Since 1920, the year the National Football League was founded, multiple issues have come up
regarding bargaining and anti trust law. The National Football League Players Association, also
known as the NFLPA, the labor organization representing the individual players, was founded in 1956.
Its main goal was, and still is, to get the best bargaining agreement for the players, making sure all the
needs and interests have been met. However, the job of those working at the National Football League
Players Association does not end once leaving the collective bargaining table. Since founding, over 60

League Players Association, DeMaurice Smith. For a long time, however, Gene Upshaw held the

Fragile X Syndrome Analysis
In 1943 two men, Martin and Bell discovered a gene condition called Fragile X Syndrome. 2 Fragile
X Syndrome (FXS) is a genetic condition, which may cause an intellectual disability, behavioural and
learning difficulties and various other physical characterstics.1 It occurs when the female gene (X
gene) is repeated over 50 200 times, this is called Fragile X permutation. 1 In 1969, Herbert Lubs
established the chromosomal test for Fragile X Syndrome. Fragile X Syndrome is an inherited
condition in which the X chromosome is passed on from the parent to the child. If the woman has the
affect X, they will have an increased chance for passing the gene on but as men have an Y as well as
an X chromosome, if they have Fragile X Syndrome, their sons won t be affected as they have their
fathers Y chromosome. It is the most common form of inherited intellectual disability in males and a
major cause of intellectual disability in females.
There is currently no cure for this condition yet and treatment is generally based on the symptoms the
individual has.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the only examination for Fragile X Syndrome was a test in which blood
was taken to test for chromosomes.3 However, this was unreliable as not always accurate. In the
1990s scientists identified a specific gene that causes Fragile X Syndrome and ... Show more content

Generic And Name Brand Drugs
While recent advancements in modern medicine have turned it into a field of competition between
generic and name brand drugs, these drugs show very slight differences in ability while they have a
large difference in price. The FDA is in charge of overseeing the creation of these generic and name
brand drugs. Too much diversity in their results is unacceptable to FDA so they keep a close watch on
the makeup and effectiveness of the drugs and how they impact the human body. Along with the
differences in their chemical makeups shown by the results of each drug there are the social issues that
accompany the name brand and marketed drugs vs. the generic drugs which are never advertised and

Both of those companies were under another company called boots who, up until 1986, held the patent
rights to ibuprofen. After 1986 many generic brand labels began to produce ibuprofen. The rise in
generic ibuprofen completely shut out all but one of the name brand producers of ibuprofen as shown
by the disappearance of Nuprin. Generic drugs have destroyed the market for name brand drugs by
being cheaper and just as efficient When a generic drug product is approved, it has met rigorous
standards established by the FDA with respect to identity, strength, quality, purity, and potency.
However, some variability can and does occur during manufacturing, for both brand name and generic
drugs. When a drug, generic or brand name, is mass produced, very small variations in purity, size,
strength, and other parameters are permitted. FDA limits how much variability is acceptable (FDA).
This lack in difference of quality has allowed generic drugs to out sell many name brand drugs since
people understand that what they are buying are practically the same thing so why would they buy
anything more expensive. Generic manufacturers are able to sell their products for lower prices
because they are not required to repeat the costly clinical trials of new drugs and generally do not pay
for costly advertising, marketing, and promotion. In addition, multiple generic companies are often
approved to market a single product; this creates competition in the market place,

To prepare we will create a glossary of our vectors and their magnitudes written in the proper
mathematical notation. First we list the components of each vector: a ⃑=√(.29) i ⃑+√(.00) j ⃑+√(.03)
k ⃑+√(.68) h ⃑ b ⃑=√(.10) i ⃑+√(.09) j ⃑+√(.12) k ⃑+√(.69) h ⃑ c ⃑=√(.21) i ⃑+√(.07) j ⃑+√(.06)
k ⃑+√(.66) h ⃑ d ⃑=√(.22) i ⃑+√(.00) j ⃑+√(.21) k ⃑+√(.57) h ⃑
Second we find the magnitude of each vector: ‖a ⃑ ‖=√(〖√(.29)〗^2+〖√(.00)〗^2+〖√(.03)〗^2+
〖√(.68)〗^2 )=1 ‖b ⃑ ‖=√(〖√(.10)〗^2+〖√(.09)〗^2+〖√(.12)〗^2+〖√(.69)〗^2 )=1 ‖c ⃑
‖=√(〖√(.21)〗^2+〖√(.07)〗^2+〖√(.06)〗^2+〖√(.66)〗^2 )=1 ‖d ⃑ ‖=√(〖√(.22)〗^2+
〖√(.00)〗^2+〖√(.21)〗^2+〖√(.57)〗^2 )=1
Using the definition, is the English population closer genetically to the Bantus or the Koreans?
Explain.
First we find the angle between the Bantus and the English population by plugging in the values of
their components and magnitudes into the dot product equation for finding an angle between two
vectors. Then we solve for θ. The angle is:
θ= cos^( 1)⁥
((b ⃑∙c ⃑)/‖b ⃑ ‖‖c ⃑ ‖ )=cos^( 1)⁡
((√(.1) √(.21)+√(.09) √(.07)+√(.12) √(.06)+√(.69)
√(.66))/(1∙1))≈10.272° We use the same process to determine the angle between the Korean and the
English population. The angle is:
θ= cos^( 1)⁥
〖((d ⃑∙c ⃑)/(‖d ⃑ ‖∙‖c ⃑ ‖ ))=〗 cos^( 1)⁡
((√(.22) √(.21)+√(.00) √(.07)+√(.21)
√(.06)+√(.57) √(.66))/(1∙1))≈19.857°
When we compare the obtained values for both angles

Similarities And Weaknesses Of The Civil War
The Civil War The North and South had many different weaknesses and strengths at the beginning of
the Civil War in 1861. This essay will compare the political, economic, social and military strengths
and weaknesses of the North and South at the beginning of the Civil War. There were many reasons
for the War of the States to be fought including, but not limited to slavery, separation of states, the
Constitution, and the way of life. The North and South had many political strengths and weaknesses.
The South had an amazing fighting spirit because they were fighting to preserve their way of life.
They were also defending their home against the northern invaders. While the North was just fighting
to continue the Union, and were not as inspired. Furthermore the North had the advantage of President
Lincoln being from the North, when the South did not. The South had less states in its Confederacy
with only a mere fifteen states, versus the North who had nineteen states in their Union. Lincoln
believed that secession was illegal under the law of the Constitution and he would declare war against
the rebelling states if necessary. For the first time in American history, Lincoln suspended the writ of
habeas corpus, the right of prisoners to a trial, ergo the Union could arrest citizens who might have
been southern sympathizers. The North and South had many economic strengths and weaknesses. The
South had many plantations of rice, cotton, tobacco and other cash crops, which produced

Analysis Of Flaubert s Madame Bovary
In Madame Bovary, Flaubert writes a couple of major moments in very brief and plain ways. What
Flaubert does for these moments is build up our expectations of what we think is going to happen long
before it actually occurs so that when the moment nears, he can make the current buildup and the
moment itself quick and plain. This is so that we are emotionally detached from it and the character s
experience and ours do not mix. One passage where this happens is near the beginning of part 3, on
page 208, where Emma is having a conversation with Leon. The passage is With a slight shrug, Emma
interrupted him to lament the illness during which she had nearly died; what a shame! she would no
longer be suffering now. Leon immediately envied the tranquillity of the grave, and one night he had
even written his will, requesting that he be buried in that beautiful coverlet, with its bands of velvet,
that she had given him; for this was the way they would have liked to be they were both creating for
themselves an ideal against which they were not adjusting their past lives. Besides. speech is a rolling
press that always amplifies one s emotions. But at this invention concerning the coverlet: Why? she
asked. Why? . He hesitated. Because I loved you so much! And, applauding himself for having gotten
past the difficult part, Leon watched her expression from the corner of his eye. Leon s confession is
heavily set up by the passages that came before it instead of sentences

Gastroesophageal Reflux Research Paper
Gastroesophageal reflux What is Gastroesophageal reflux? Gastroesophageal reflux is a medical
condition characterized by reflux of acidic juices into the esophagus, resulting in symptoms of
regurgitation (sour taste in mouth) and reflux (burning in the chest). This is an extremely common
condition in the United States. Factors such as obesity, alcohol use, tobacco use, certain medications,
and various diets and lifestyle decisions increase your risk of developing gastroesophageal reflux.
Long term disease can lead to a precancerous condition called Barrett esophagus. Other serious
complications include esophageal adhesions, constrictions, and cancer. Some patients may ultimately

How common is gastroesophageal reflux? What are the symptoms and signs of gastroesophageal
reflux? How is gastroesophageal reflux diagnosed? How is gastroesophageal reflux treated? What
causes Gastroesophageal reflux? Gastroesophageal reflux is caused by the reflux of acidic juices from
the stomach into the esophagus. This results in irritation of the esophageal lining leading to chest
burning and discomfort. Acid can also reach the throat resulting in the sensation of a sour taste in the
mouth (regurgitation). Symptoms often occur after meals and may be associated other features of
dyspepsia such as bloating and mild abdominal discomfort. Long term inflammation in the lower
esophagus can lead to cellular changes that are precancerous if the problem is not corrected or
reversed Barrett esophagus. Eventually chronic irritation can lead to adenocarcinoma of the lower
esophagus. Conditions that lead to acid reflux generally occur as a result of abnormal anatomic or
pathophysiologic processes. Often times it is causes by increased intraabdominal pressure, which
facilitates acid backflow from the stomach to the esophagus. Some of these can include: Obesity

Eldorado Comparison
Similar to the HG Wells story, in the poem Eldorado by Edgar Allen Poe the romance genre is
demonstrated through a place apart, and also demonstrates a serpent in the garden. This is
demonstrated through the knight and the shadow trying to find Eldorado; a place/county that was
known for having the most gold during the gold rush in 1848. In the first stanza of the poem

when the second stanza starts the knight is in the same optimistic state; that he will eventually find

Giorgio De Chirico s Art
Giorgio De Chirico s art can be viewed one that evolved tremendously over time. However, his
artwork portrayed a number of characteristics and traits that differentiated them from the works of
other artists in his time. This is probably why his art remains a puzzling factor to many from the 20th
Century to date. A wide use themes and concepts can be seen in a number of his works. He has played
a huge role in shaping the surrealist works of art.
As mentioned, Giorgio De Chirico s art differed immensely from those of artists at the time. As a
result of this difference, he appeared to be left out and his work segregated especially by the French
arts men and fellow surrealists. His art was characterized by symbolic objects. His manikins, for
example were spotted without upper body parts or faces. They appeared bizarre. Mostly, his paintings
comprised of natural inspirations. Even if he painted a building, the aspect of nature was seen in the
outcome. Additionally, he used color so as to put emphasis of particular objects. He would use
contrasting colors in his mannequins and would place them in odd sizes and relationships so as to
create juxtaposition. An example of this can be seen in The Disquieting Muses, one of his works of
art.
Enigma is one of his most widely used themes. It can be seen his use of ordinary life objects and
figures. These figures have been used in a context that does not appear ordinarily familiar. They all
appear in a position or element that has been

Children Of Dune Analysis
Children of Dune
Is it wise to save somebody, but harm them in the process. Frank Herbert s Children of Dune explores
this idea. Leto, the boy who will soon be emperor, has a vision of the future in which he believes that
he can save humanity from destruction, but would harm them in the process. He intends to lead
humanity along a Golden Path , but will have readers questioning if he will do more harm than good.
Despite the fact that Leto s intentions are good, he is actually evil.
Leto begins his path to ruling the universe by destroying the changing ecology of Arrakis, the main
planet in the empire. The ecology is being changed so that the planet will be more livable, because it is
brutal desert planet. Tomorrow I ll raid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

sand; and he had two horns like a lamb, but his mouth was fanged and fiery as the dragon and his
body shimmered and burned with great heat while it did hiss like the serpent revised Bible (Herbert).
This passage from the revised Bible of Dune is a foreshadowing to Leto rising up as the emperor,
because is is an almost exact description of a sandworm. The natives of the planet worship the
sandworms as a physical representation of God, and Leto makes himself partially sandworm in the
book. Leto does another act of evil by proclaiming himself to be a god. Leto knows that he will be a
brutal ruler, and that it will be hard for humanity to survive. Leto told his father, Paul Your jihad will
be a summer picnic on Caladan by comparison (Herbert). Pauls jihad was a successful attempt to
make his rule absolute, but it caused the death of 61 billion people. Leto understands what his rule will
do, but he will continue anyways. Leto knows he will be a tyrant, and shows that he is evil by
continuing anyways.
Despite being the protagonist of the novel, Leto is really a villain. He believes that by being a tyrant,
he can benefit all of humanity. To him, the billions of deaths, the disruption of a planet s
transformation, and him wanting to be a god show that he is inherently evil. He believes that he can
save humanity by oppressing and harming them. Leto is the true villain of Children of

The Effect Of Activated Yeast On Hydrogen Peroxide
The Effect Of Activated Yeast on Hydrogen Peroxide

Period 1; 21 October 2015
Abstract
The topic of this lab is on biochemistry. This experiment was conducted to show how cells prevent the
build of hydrogen peroxide in tissues. My group consisted of Lekha, Ruth, and Jason. There were used
two different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide through this experiment , 1.5% and 3%. By testing
two different types it is easier to understand how the H2O2 and catalase react with one another. To do
this both the yeast, which was our catalase, and H2O2 were mixed together in a beaker. Each
concentration was tested out twice for more accurate results . 1.5% concentrated H2O2 had an average
reaction rate of 10.5 seconds while 3% concentrated H2O2 had an average reaction rate of 7.5
seconds. From this experiment we learned that by increasing the concentration of H2O2 and
chemically combining it with a catalase it will speed up the reaction. Enzymes speed up chemical
reactions . The independent variable in this experiment was the concentration of the H2O2. Some key
vocabulary words are Catalase, enzyme, hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2), and concentration.
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to determine how the body prevents the build up of H2O2 in
tissues. During the process of cellular respiration Carbon Dioxide and water are produced but

of how to act when at church. Before going to church we had to get clothes and what I got was a white
shirt, black pants, and any color tie and a vest was optional. The first time we went to church it was
boring at first but it was kind of fun and exciting. After that we were getting visits from the

The new remote lockout feature is now available which switches off the radio receiver while one is on
vacation or away for a long time.
The availability of a variety of accessories has increased in the market which provides features like
wireless keypads, solenoid operated deadbolts to lock the door itself and keychain remotes.
Additional advanced features like an integrated carbon monoxide sensor to open the door in case of
the garage being flooded with exhaust fumes or systems providing door activation over the Internet to
allow home owners to open their garage door from their office for deliveries.
Another recent innovation in the garage door opener is the fingerprint based wireless keypad which
can be attached to the outside of the garage door on the jamb and allow users to open and close their
doors with the press of a finger from the outside itself rather than creating a personal identification
number (PIN). Such a feature is especially helpful for families with children who may forget a code.

Abstract The Method of Loci is a mnemonic device, often employed as a study aid or a means of
recalling a lot of information, used to visually organize and recall previously stored ideas, data or
learned information. It works by associating a concept or piece of information with a location. This
experiment tests if employment of the Method of Loci, colloquially known as the Memory Palace or
Mind Palace technique, improves memory retrieval of random letters combinations of varying
complexity, and if there is a significant effect for either location of the letter combinations or
complexity of the letter combinations (combinations of 2 letters versus 4 letters). The results of our
study illustrated no significant effect on accuracy for complexity, location or complexity and location.
Thus, the results of this experiment suggest that the Method of Loci may not be an effective
mnemonic method for strengthening memory accuracy and retention.

Football Programs Should Have Athletic Scholarships
In my opinion, all football programs should have Athletic scholarships regardless of division. They all
are considered NCAA athletes and all abide by the same rules and regulations. Football is one of
America s favorite pass times and through this sport many athletes have been able to attend Colleges
and Universities, all over The United States, for free. Although there are currently 72,788 National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Football players, only the few that have the opportunity to
play Division 1 football are eligible to receive these full athletic scholarships also known as full rides .
Division 2 is an assortment of more than 300 NCAA colleges and universities that provide thousands
of student athletes the opportunity to compete at a high level of scholarship athletics. Some Division 2
schools also give their athletes full scholarships but these cases are rare, instead, they give partial
athletic scholarships to help lighten the load. Athletes that play Division 3 football are often seen as
playing For the love of the game or Love of completion and receive no sort of athletic scholarship for
playing a college sport. Players that decide to take the Junior College or JUCO route are playing, more
times than not, to attract the attention of Division 1 coaches in order to seize the opportunity of
attending college for free. The differences among the divisions emerge primarily in how schools
choose to fund their athletics programs. Division 1 is the

How Does GPS Use Trilateration To Pinpoint An Unknown...
This simplified 2D example will demonstrate how GPS uses trilateration to pinpoint an unknown
location. Once a receiver has locked in onto a satellite, the unknown position may be anywhere within
the radius of 1000 km of satellite one. The receiver picks up a signal from a second satellite and
calculates the range as 1200 km. The position has been narrowed down to two positions; where the
ranges intersect. If the receiver picks up another satellite, the unknown position can be found by
calculating where all three distances are possible.

question pending as to what should the situation be inside a classroom. Nobody has yet come up with

Most students especially those younger need to be attracted to a particular subject or topic, one that
just grabs their attention, in order to pay attention and to learn from that subject. One such example is
when I entered the 8th grade with a hate for mathematics, but after being taught by a very well
educated professor, I managed to start liking algebra and becoming more and more intrigued as the
course went on.
When I used to be in elementary school, I would only find interest in those topics I thought were
exciting and interesting such as science and drawing. Whenever a teacher would tell us to draw or
sketch a picture, a smile immediately grew on my face and I lightened up with joy since I loved to
draw. My love of art made me one of the most talented kids at school with that gift. I believe that a
dedicated person must push his or her limitations to the maximum of their potentials to be educated
and to succeed even though he or she may not like what theyre being taught, but that person must still
push themselves to become interested in order to do well in that subject at the same time.

famous by making pointless, catchy songs. Tinie Tempah became famous off the song Pass Out . The
song doesn t have any meaning and is pointless but it made his career. Bashy, another UK rapper,
made a song called Black boys that discussed the success of black men in the UK but it didn t make
onto the UK charts. The only way to make it big is to make pointless or offensive songs therefore to
outsiders hip hop portrays a negative image as the music they know about is the offensive or pointless
ones. Hip hop doesn t portray a negative image of the black society to those that love and have grown
up on hip hop as there are beautiful, powerful images that are displayed in hip hop. Hip hop is seen as
a voice for black people therefore showing society that black people can say what they think without
resorting to violence. Hip hop is criticised for its violent images but violence is displayed all over the
media e.g. Rock music talks about violence, pop music is very sexualised, movies are filled with sex
and violence. It isn t right to condemn one genre for what other

Physics of Ice Skating
Many everyday activities, and sports involve physics. During the Olympics, you saw the graceful
performance done by the figure skaters. Figure skating involves a lot of physics. These principles
include friction, momentum, and Newton s Third Law. These core principles plays a big impact on the
performance of figure skaters. Before understanding the physics of the ice skater s motion, the first
thing to comprehend is the skates itself.
The major parts of figure skates are the boot itself, and the blade. A figure skater performs a spin by
rotating the blade backwards as the skater spins on a fixed point. This fixed point, is also known as the
balls of their feet. The skater also has the toe pick, a rigid part of the blade located at the front of the
blade, touching the ice. This allows the skater to put a forward pressure down without sliding forward
and falling backwards. It also helps keep the skater s balance. When the skater performs a jump, he or
she pushes off the toe pick, jumps, lands on the toe pick, and then rocks down to the blade. This also
adds stability. The design of the blade allows the skater to rock down to the blade from the toe pick
due to the curvature of the blade. This is called the rocker. The skater imparts the momentum from its
opposite leg, back into his lower foot and then continues to move. This leads to the movement of the
figure skater and the laws and principles of physics used to perform them.
Figure skating involves ice, which means there

Relationship Between The Old And New Testament
Relationship between the Old and New Testament
The relationship of the Old Testament and the New Testament has been the cause for a series of
debates for many generations. In some cases, the Bible is believed to be just a random assortment of
individual scrolls brought together in no precise fashion and for no particular reason, with the Old and
New Testament being completely separated from one another, this is of course false. The Bible is, as a
whole, the given Word of God brought together by a variety of human authors under the Divine
Inspiration of the One True Divine Author, God Himself. Similarly, the Old Testament should not be
neglected and replaced by the New Testament, as the New Testament is deeply rooted within the Old
Testament and the Old Testament is brought into full manifestation, through Jesus Christ, within the
New Testament. Therefore, the New Testament cannot exist without the Old Testament and the Old
Testament cannot become fulfilled without the New Testament. Throughout the world, in many
different religions, the Bible is used as a guide for life during our time on earth, however, some have
taken it upon themselves to edit the Word of God and remove parts of scripture that they believe to be
false or irrelevant. The Catholic Church understands that the Bible exists without error, because of
God s intervention and inspiration during its development, and that we are to accept and become
educated on all parts of the Bible in order to

The Legal System Of The Law
The law is worldwide; it affects almost every aspect of our everyday lives and also has an impact on
every individual. There are many types of laws such as laws that deal with crimes and laws that
govern activities within the community; there are also specific laws in certain portions of the legal
system. Laws are made in order to give us rules of conduct that protect everyone s individual rights
(Canada Department of Justice). How law is dealt with is seen to vary throughout different countries
for the reason that each country contains different laws that are based to fit their culture and customs.
However, when law is dealt with, regardless of the area it is enforced in; if the crime of the accused is
serious enough it will go through a trial system which is also seen to vary depending on the country. A
trial system is the process of examining a case in the court of law and deciding if an individual is
innocent or guilty of what they are being accused for (Macmillan dictionary). Trial systems are an
important part of the legal system for the reason that everyone is entitled to the right of a fair trial
procedure which allows the individual that is being accused to be determined innocent or guilty
through the rule of law so that if the individual is in fact innocent then there will be no consequences
and all will be forgotten and if guilty they will be dealt with properly. Trials are held accordingly
depending on the trial system that is being used in that particular court

Dependence By Octavia E. Butler
Dependence in Fledgling Dependence is a very broad term that encompasses multiple different aspects
of peoples lives. It can be defined in a wide range of subjects including, but not limited to, obsessions
compulsions, material reliance, and financial dependency. However, dependence is most commonly
used in terms of interpersonal relationship and substance addiction. An intertwined combination of
these two types of dependency is explored in Fledgling, a science fiction vampire novel written by
Octavia E. Butler. In her novel, Butler portrays dependence as a natural component of symbiotic
relationships with many varying forms of expression. Based on this, she also shows a connection
between co dependence and addiction while still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like so, the experience is described as beneficial to both people. After Shori reunites with her father,
Iosif, both Shori and the readers are informed that human blood is most satisfying to [them] and
fortunately, [they] don t have to injure the humans [they] take it from (63). Based on this quote, the
Ina symbiont relationship would be better classified as commensalism, where one organism benefits
while the other is not affected. However, Butler further stresses the mutualistic relationship between
the Ina and their symbionts by noting the other positive effects from the venom injected during
feeding. For example, the venom strengthens their immune system, lengthens their lives by around
100 years, and makes them heal faster. In other words, they will become much healthier, stronger and
harder to kill than they would be without [their Ina] (63). In this mutualistic relationship, the Ina
depends on their symbionts as a source of fuel just as much as the symbionts depends on their Ina for
health, but mainly feelings of pleasure and alleviation. However, when Ina misuse their abilities to use
humans as weapons and tools, it can be viewed as a parasitism (257). Parasitic symbiotic relationships
involve one organism benefiting at the cost of another organism. For instance, Iosif bit Raleigh Curtis,

how they stop every step of the attack model.
Answer:
Among the defense models that can be used to address both the threat of attack from above is to use
the concept of defense in depth . Rocky Summit can build up layers of defense against cybersecurity,
so there will be layers that protect IT resources and systems in the Rocky Summit, as firewall,
intrusion detection system (IDS), authentication, patch operating system updates, anti virus, turning
off services that have not been used and so forth.
To stop the various steps in an attack :

often targets of social engineering leading them to providing tidbits of information which, over time,
act to provide a picture of potential soft spots. To make it much harder for an attacker, we can:

John Knowles s A Separate Peace
In the first few chapters of A Separate Peace alone, Gene Forrester is John Knowles. In the first
chapter, Gene is a grown man fifteen years in the future. He describes Devon School in the summer
session in 1942. Devon School is rarely mentioned in the book. In A Separate Peace: The War Within
the chronology states that in 1943, a year older than the book, he too went to a summer session at
Exeter Academy (Bryant, xi). Knowles, too had a tree that he and other boys jumped off of, but he
broke his foot and had to be on crutches (Bryant, xi). This book is a rough autobiography of his life.
Gene and the author John Knowles will be explained as WWII in their eyes, the symbolism of
Phineas, and the school and the older Gene. In A Separate Peace, the summer session is for seniors
who are training for the war. Gene and Phineas are sixteen and not eligible for the draft. As the book
states, they jump off the tree used for diving in the river. Gene says in the book The tree was
tremendous, an irate, steely black steeple beside the river. I d be damned if I climbed it (Knowles, 14).
Similar to the book, Knowles probably thought the same thing after he broke his foot.
In The War Within, Bryant states that A Separate Peace can be read as a war book. With this in mind,
it was only about two boys who were not of drafting age, but one to two years before it. In the summer
session, the teachers are a little less strict, but only to the boys under eighteen. Even then, the boys

Commentary on Feet
Analysis on Feet Feet is a prose talking about a little child looking at his sister s death. The story is set
in a post war period, when poverty and diseases are everywhere. We can know this by looking at the
date written under the title, September 1948 . The story happened in a working class family in Ireland.
We can know that it is set in Ireland from the little sister s name. From the sentence in line 7, Una. My
younger sister, Una. We know that her name is Una, which is an Irish name, so we can know that it is
an Irish family. It is showed that the family is in working class by looking at the descriptions of the
uncles work and the mother s feet. In paragraph 4, it mentioned that the uncles are working in a
building site as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It appear in line 17, Pain and pressure , which are plosives and also appear in line 44, cough crying ,
which are fricatives. The author uses quite a lot of sensory appeal in the third paragraph where the
narrator is imagining things about the diseases names. They are mainly sounds and smells. There is a
lexical choice of vocabulary in line 25, IT had a fright and hiss in it , this sentences has the word hiss
which we usually uses to describe snakes. This shows that the disease is as danger as snakes. Imagery
can be found in the prose too, in the last paragraph, line 48, the autumn air darkening using the image
of autumn being the period when most living things die to describe the dying image. Last but not least,
rhetorical questions can be found in the last paragraph. What ideas did the author expressed through
the passage? Poverty is showed in the passage through the shoes of the characters, knowing how harsh
the lives of the mother and the uncles have. However, the main idea of the passage is the child
learning about the nature of death. We know that the child doesn t know much about the disease nor
death, having all those questions that have no answers. He has fear and is too sudden to him that he
can hardly accept. He is far too young that limited his view point which is expressed by limiting the
view point to only seeing feet when being under a table. Feet thoroughly showed how the little boy go

Human Justice In 12 Angry Men
12 Angry Men is is about 12 selected people who have to run a juror sentence for a man who has been
convicted about killing his father. It starts off in the courtroom where the 12 members hear the mans
statement. After this is done, they all make their way into the room where they discuss. What makes
this story so interesting, is the fact that all 12 people are complete opposites off each other. This also
ties in the conflict of the story, is that no one can all agree on the same claim. Fights break out and
people get angry at each other. In the story 12 Angry men, it shows people can always second chance
their first opinion. By having a little argument over something or discussing something, it can
influence props decisions. For example, this happened when a certain juror kept changing his vote
constantly, after hearing everyone s claim. 12 Angry Men shows that human nature and personal
experience can influence the effect on justice. To start it off, we have juror number 2. Juror number 2
is a very hesitant man who doesn t have an opinion on his own. He is very quiet and doesn t have
much to say. During the story he constantly kept changing his mind whenever the last person spoke.
Well, sure, I ve heard of it. I know what it is. I . . . what I meant . . . well, anyway, I think he was
guilty. (Juror 2) This quote is the juror thinking he was guilty in the beginning but later on he changes
his mind. His past experiences have influenced his opinion on the

  • 3. Investing in the Stock Market Investing in the Stock Market Matt Gonzales Abstract The purpose of this paper is to inform the average investor of how to make money in the stock market. The stock market should be thought of as a long term savings vehicle. Investing in the stock market should not be associated with gambling. By investing in high quality U.S. companies, the investor in a company profits along with the company. As a shareholder, when the company makes money, the investor also does. There are many ways to invest in the stock market, but it is my opinion that investing in mutual funds is probably the most appropriate way for the average person, without expertise in stock analysis, to make money. This paper plans to inform the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, if a person contributes $2,000 to their IRA, they will receive money back on their tax return at the end of the year. If that person is in the 28% tax bracket, they will receive $560 back ($2,000 X 28%). The second type of IRA is known as Roth IRA. After tax money is contributed to the Roth IRA, therefore the investor does not receive income tax money back at the end of the year, but the beauty of the Roth IRA is that when the money is withdrawn at the time of retirement (age 70), the profit is completely tax free, both state and federal (rothirarules.net, 2011). So, it is easy to see that the Roth IRA is an excellent vehicle for retirement investing. It makes much more sense to use a Roth IRA for retirement than a traditional one. With a 401k account, the money that is invested is referred to as pre tax money. With pre tax money, this money is placed into the account before it is taxed. An example of this would be if an individual earned $100 before it was taxed by the federal and state governments, the entire $100 would be placed in the account to be invested. After tax money means that the same $100 would first be taxed federally as normal income (usually 28%) and then taxed by the state (usually 6%), to leave only $66 of the original $100 to now be spent or invested. In addition to the tax advantage, the main benefit of the 401k is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay On Valuation Risk And Return Valuation, Risk, and Return Five years ago, Laissez Faire Recliners issued $10,000,000 of corporate bonds with a 30 year maturity. The bonds have a coupon rate of 10.125%, pay interest semiannually, and have a par value of $1,000 per bond. The bonds are currently trading at a price of $879.625 per bond. A 25 year Treasury bond with a 6.825% coupon rate (paid semi annual) and $1,000 par is currently selling for $975.42. In order to find the yield spread between the corporate bonds and the Treasury bonds we must first find the yields of both bonds. The yield is the amount of return an investor can expect to receive from a bond. The yield for the corporate bond (found using the yield formula in excel) is 11.57%. The yield for the Treasury ... The firm s common stock is currently trading for $45 per share. If we are looking at whether or not we would purchase these shares or not we must first calculate the return on equity, which is done by net income (1,417,500) by the stockholders equity (6,000,000), which gives us a return of equity of 15.5%. This is only accurate when calculating the present value of cash flows method. Another method is the free cash flow method, which we calculate by looking at the year, growth status, growth rate, FCF calculation, FCF and WACC. The growth status is given as constant and the growth rate is given at 15.5%. This makes the FCF calculation of 1.15. The first year FCF is also given as $109,237. In order to calculate the following years FCF we take the first years FCF ($109,237) and multiply it by (1+WACC) the weighted average cost of capital is also given at the appropriate discount rate of 15.83%. Using the before mentioned formula we find that the FCF of year two is $126529.22. If Laissez Faire s common stock were to have a more fluctuated growth pater (25% in years 1 through 6, 20% in years 7 through 10, and 15% for years 11 and beyond), the purchase decision would change. Background and theory AVO results from energy partitioning‟, i.e. when a seismic wave hit a boundary, portion of energy is reflected and the rest propagates through. If the angle of incidence is not zero, pressure wave energy is partitioned further into reflected and transmitted as P and S components. The ratio between of the reflected and transmitted energy amplitudes is dependent on the disparity in physical properties across the boundary; mainly shear velocity (Vs), compressional wave velocity (Vp), and density (ρ). But, It is also notable that reflection amplitudes also depend on the angle of progation between incidence and the surface as shown in the figure. The reflection coefficient of a seismic wave reflecting off a boundary separating two medias as a product from a normal incidence, can be expressed simply as R: R=(Z_1 Z_0)/(z_1+z_0 ) where Z0 and Z1 are the acoustic impedances of the first and second medium, respectively, although this simple relation cannot be utilized in case of abnormal incidents, due to interchange conversion between P waves and S waves, and can be described by Zoeppritz equations, where the amplitudes of reflected and refracted waves at a planar interface for an incident P wave as a function of the ... Determined factors, however fictitious, in writing, as well as perceived by organizational Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), shareholders, Owners, and employees, female leaders were viewed through the stereotypical categories that included limitations. Moreover, gender discriminating society professes the positions for men and women would not be compensated equally. Correlating differences in gender leadership is not as fictional as it may appear. The discovery of a biochemical distinction between the genders may bring some credibility to the historical insights. While men do have higher levels of testosterone and women have higher levels of oxytocin, men and women behaviors are directly affected in speaking up and in connectedness (Moskowitz, 2015). Merit to these perceptions may be in question. Even though women have been exceedingly surpassing males in scholastic academics, researchers persistently dispute the differences in leadership abilities and capabilities. The majority of investigators believe the important differences in genders leadership are derived from the differences in power, status, and additional influences related to the gender over the educational level. Mindful that gender discrimination has extensively occurred which resulted in men being linked to leadership traits; this has implied men have greater ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fact that this is a nonsense poem inside a nonsense story makes it all the more difficult to decipher a deeper meaning. Like the author, who had a darker side to him, so too might his work. Carroll made this statement in a letter to an American friend,I m very much afraid I didn t mean anything but nonsense. Still, you know, words mean more than we mean to express when we use them; so a whole book ought to mean a great deal more than the writer means. The trip down the beach symbolizes the blind way the common man will follow the politician to his eminent demise. The oysters gather and more and more follow the two leaders down the length of the beach. The Walrus and the Carpenter lead the oysters a great distance until the oysters are exhausted from the journey. Stopping on a rock that is conveniently low, the Walrus gathers up his followers, who stand in neat rows close by, and begins a speech with the most remembered portion of Carroll s poem. The time has come, the Walrus said,? To talk of many things:?Of shoes and ships and sealing wax ?Of cabbages and kings ?And why the sea is boiling hot ?And whether pigs have wings. A major catalyst for the onset of depression is the suppression of emotions, and Chief has suppressed many emotions throughout his life. The forced loss of freedom is reason enough for anyone to become depressed. Depression is ubiquitous, usually easily recognized, and in most cases rapidly responsive to modern treatment (Miller 262). Fragile X Syndrome Analysis In 1943 two men, Martin and Bell discovered a gene condition called Fragile X Syndrome. 2 Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) is a genetic condition, which may cause an intellectual disability, behavioural and learning difficulties and various other physical characterstics.1 It occurs when the female gene (X gene) is repeated over 50 200 times, this is called Fragile X permutation. 1 In 1969, Herbert Lubs established the chromosomal test for Fragile X Syndrome. Fragile X Syndrome is an inherited condition in which the X chromosome is passed on from the parent to the child. If the woman has the affect X, they will have an increased chance for passing the gene on but as men have an Y as well as an X chromosome, if they have Fragile X Syndrome, their sons won t be affected as they have their fathers Y chromosome. It is the most common form of inherited intellectual disability in males and a major cause of intellectual disability in females. There is currently no cure for this condition yet and treatment is generally based on the symptoms the individual has. During the 1970s and 1980s, the only examination for Fragile X Syndrome was a test in which blood was taken to test for chromosomes.3 However, this was unreliable as not always accurate. In the 1990s scientists identified a specific gene that causes Fragile X Syndrome and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Generic And Name Brand Drugs While recent advancements in modern medicine have turned it into a field of competition between generic and name brand drugs, these drugs show very slight differences in ability while they have a large difference in price. The FDA is in charge of overseeing the creation of these generic and name brand drugs. Too much diversity in their results is unacceptable to FDA so they keep a close watch on the makeup and effectiveness of the drugs and how they impact the human body. Along with the differences in their chemical makeups shown by the results of each drug there are the social issues that accompany the name brand and marketed drugs vs. the generic drugs which are never advertised and only sold. Both of those companies were under another company called boots who, up until 1986, held the patent rights to ibuprofen. After 1986 many generic brand labels began to produce ibuprofen. The rise in generic ibuprofen completely shut out all but one of the name brand producers of ibuprofen as shown by the disappearance of Nuprin. Generic drugs have destroyed the market for name brand drugs by being cheaper and just as efficient When a generic drug product is approved, it has met rigorous standards established by the FDA with respect to identity, strength, quality, purity, and potency. However, some variability can and does occur during manufacturing, for both brand name and generic drugs. When a drug, generic or brand name, is mass produced, very small variations in purity, size, strength, and other parameters are permitted. FDA limits how much variability is acceptable (FDA). This lack in difference of quality has allowed generic drugs to out sell many name brand drugs since people understand that what they are buying are practically the same thing so why would they buy anything more expensive. Generic manufacturers are able to sell their products for lower prices because they are not required to repeat the costly clinical trials of new drugs and generally do not pay for costly advertising, marketing, and promotion. In addition, multiple generic companies are often approved to market a single product; this creates competition in the market place, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Explain. First we find the angle between the Bantus and the English population by plugging in the values of their components and magnitudes into the dot product equation for finding an angle between two vectors. Then we solve for θ. The angle is: θ= cos^( 1)⁥ ((b ⃑∙c ⃑)/‖b ⃑ ‖‖c ⃑ ‖ )=cos^( 1)⁥ ((√(.1) √(.21)+√(.09) √(.07)+√(.12) √(.06)+√(.69) √(.66))/(1∙1))≈10.272° We use the same process to determine the angle between the Korean and the English population. There were many reasons for the War of the States to be fought including, but not limited to slavery, separation of states, the Constitution, and the way of life. The North and South had many political strengths and weaknesses. The South had an amazing fighting spirit because they were fighting to preserve their way of life. They were also defending their home against the northern invaders. While the North was just fighting to continue the Union, and were not as inspired. Furthermore the North had the advantage of President Lincoln being from the North, when the South did not. What Flaubert does for these moments is build up our expectations of what we think is going to happen long before it actually occurs so that when the moment nears, he can make the current buildup and the moment itself quick and plain. This is so that we are emotionally detached from it and the character s experience and ours do not mix. One passage where this happens is near the beginning of part 3, on page 208, where Emma is having a conversation with Leon. The passage is With a slight shrug, Emma interrupted him to lament the illness during which she had nearly died; what a shame! she would no longer be suffering now. Leon immediately envied the tranquillity of the grave, and one night he had even written his will, requesting that he be buried in that beautiful coverlet, with its bands of velvet, that she had given him; for this was the way they would have liked to be they were both creating for themselves an ideal against which they were not adjusting their past lives. However, his artwork portrayed a number of characteristics and traits that differentiated them from the works of other artists in his time. This is probably why his art remains a puzzling factor to many from the 20th Century to date. A wide use themes and concepts can be seen in a number of his works. He has played a huge role in shaping the surrealist works of art. As mentioned, Giorgio De Chirico s art differed immensely from those of artists at the time. As a result of this difference, he appeared to be left out and his work segregated especially by the French arts men and fellow surrealists. His art was characterized by symbolic objects. His manikins, for example were spotted without upper body parts or faces. They appeared bizarre. Mostly, his paintings comprised of natural inspirations. Even if he painted a building, the aspect of nature was seen in the outcome. Additionally, he used color so as to put emphasis of particular objects. He would use contrasting colors in his mannequins and would place them in odd sizes and relationships so as to create juxtaposition. An example of this can be seen in The Disquieting Muses, one of his works of art. Enigma is one of his most widely used themes. It can be seen his use of ordinary life objects and figures. These figures have been used in a context that does not appear ordinarily familiar. They all appear in a position or element that has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Effect Of Activated Yeast On Hydrogen Peroxide The Effect Of Activated Yeast on Hydrogen Peroxide Kashish Pandey Lekha Pillarisetti, Ruth Rauca, Jason Tran Period 1; 21 October 2015 Abstract The topic of this lab is on biochemistry. This experiment was conducted to show how cells prevent the build of hydrogen peroxide in tissues. My group consisted of Lekha, Ruth, and Jason. There were used two different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide through this experiment , 1.5% and 3%. By testing two different types it is easier to understand how the H2O2 and catalase react with one another. To do this both the yeast, which was our catalase, and H2O2 were mixed together in a beaker. Each concentration was tested out twice for more accurate results . 1.5% concentrated H2O2 had an average reaction rate of 10.5 seconds while 3% concentrated H2O2 had an average reaction rate of 7.5 seconds. From this experiment we learned that by increasing the concentration of H2O2 and chemically combining it with a catalase it will speed up the reaction. Enzymes speed up chemical reactions . The independent variable in this experiment was the concentration of the H2O2. Some key vocabulary words are Catalase, enzyme, hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2), and concentration. • 39. The Relationship Shared Amongst Students and Teachers Essay Relationship Shared amongst Teachers and Students Nowadays, there is much controversy plaguing our society as to how the perfect relationship between teachers and their students should be. One pupil might be favored more than another in the classroom by the teacher, making this extra attention unfair to the other students. Almost always, there is a question pending as to what should the situation be inside a classroom. Nobody has yet come up with a solution to solve the problems facing our societys school system and the relationship the students hold with their teachers. An equal balance of fairness, dedication, and hard work should come from both teachers and students. Once we achieve this goal, our classrooms will have teachers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most students especially those younger need to be attracted to a particular subject or topic, one that just grabs their attention, in order to pay attention and to learn from that subject. One such example is when I entered the 8th grade with a hate for mathematics, but after being taught by a very well educated professor, I managed to start liking algebra and becoming more and more intrigued as the course went on. When I used to be in elementary school, I would only find interest in those topics I thought were exciting and interesting such as science and drawing. Whenever a teacher would tell us to draw or sketch a picture, a smile immediately grew on my face and I lightened up with joy since I loved to draw. My love of art made me one of the most talented kids at school with that gift. I believe that a dedicated person must push his or her limitations to the maximum of their potentials to be educated and to succeed even though he or she may not like what theyre being taught, but that person must still push themselves to become interested in order to do well in that subject at the same time. Another example is how I am studying to go into the pharmacy field by taking classes I may dislike such as biology, physics, and calculus. I may loathe these classes, but in order for me to become a pharmacist and be successful in life, I must learn to have an interest in these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Physics of Ice Skating Many everyday activities, and sports involve physics. During the Olympics, you saw the graceful performance done by the figure skaters. Figure skating involves a lot of physics. These principles include friction, momentum, and Newton s Third Law. These core principles plays a big impact on the performance of figure skaters. Before understanding the physics of the ice skater s motion, the first thing to comprehend is the skates itself. The major parts of figure skates are the boot itself, and the blade. A figure skater performs a spin by rotating the blade backwards as the skater spins on a fixed point. This fixed point, is also known as the balls of their feet. The skater also has the toe pick, a rigid part of the blade located at the front of the blade, touching the ice. This allows the skater to put a forward pressure down without sliding forward and falling backwards. It also helps keep the skater s balance. When the skater performs a jump, he or she pushes off the toe pick, jumps, lands on the toe pick, and then rocks down to the blade. This also adds stability. The design of the blade allows the skater to rock down to the blade from the toe pick due to the curvature of the blade. This is called the rocker. The skater imparts the momentum from its opposite leg, back into his lower foot and then continues to move. This leads to the movement of the figure skater and the laws and principles of physics used to perform them. Figure skating involves ice, which means there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Relationship Between The Old And New Testament Relationship between the Old and New Testament The relationship of the Old Testament and the New Testament has been the cause for a series of debates for many generations. In some cases, the Bible is believed to be just a random assortment of individual scrolls brought together in no precise fashion and for no particular reason, with the Old and New Testament being completely separated from one another, this is of course false. The Bible is, as a whole, the given Word of God brought together by a variety of human authors under the Divine Inspiration of the One True Divine Author, God Himself. Similarly, the Old Testament should not be neglected and replaced by the New Testament, as the New Testament is deeply rooted within the Old Testament and the Old Testament is brought into full manifestation, through Jesus Christ, within the New Testament. Therefore, the New Testament cannot exist without the Old Testament and the Old Testament cannot become fulfilled without the New Testament. Throughout the world, in many different religions, the Bible is used as a guide for life during our time on earth, however, some have taken it upon themselves to edit the Word of God and remove parts of scripture that they believe to be false or irrelevant. The Catholic Church understands that the Bible exists without error, because of God s intervention and inspiration during its development, and that we are to accept and become educated on all parts of the Bible in order to ... Laws are made in order to give us rules of conduct that protect everyone s individual rights (Canada Department of Justice). However, when law is dealt with, regardless of the area it is enforced in; if the crime of the accused is serious enough it will go through a trial system which is also seen to vary depending on the country. A trial system is the process of examining a case in the court of law and deciding if an individual is innocent or guilty of what they are being accused for (Macmillan dictionary). Trial systems are an important part of the legal system for the reason that everyone is entitled to the right of a fair trial procedure which allows the individual that is being accused to be determined innocent or guilty through the rule of law so that if the individual is in fact innocent then there will be no consequences and all will be forgotten and if guilty they will be dealt with properly. He describes Devon School in the summer session in 1942. Devon School is rarely mentioned in the book. In A Separate Peace: The War Within the chronology states that in 1943, a year older than the book, he too went to a summer session at Exeter Academy (Bryant, xi). Knowles, too had a tree that he and other boys jumped off of, but he broke his foot and had to be on crutches (Bryant, xi). This book is a rough autobiography of his life. Gene and the author John Knowles will be explained as WWII in their eyes, the symbolism of Phineas, and the school and the older Gene. In A Separate Peace, the summer session is for seniors who are training for the war. Gene and Phineas are sixteen and not eligible for the draft. As the book states, they jump off the tree used for diving in the river. Gene says in the book The tree was tremendous, an irate, steely black steeple beside the river. I d be damned if I climbed it (Knowles, 14). Similar to the book, Knowles probably thought the same thing after he broke his foot. In The War Within, Bryant states that A Separate Peace can be read as a war book. With this in mind, it was only about two boys who were not of drafting age, but one to two years before it. In the summer session, the teachers are a little less strict, but only to the boys under eighteen. Even then, the boys ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
