I am writing my appeal for the Merit Scholarship for the upcoming Fall 2015 2016 semester at Dillard
University.
In life there are many transitions and change that occurs. Coming from L.W. Higgins High School in
Marrero, I maintained a 3.0+ GPA. I had good relationships with my teachers and school was never a
problem for me. The difference is that I had brought the same mentality to Dillard University thinking
that it would be the same, but it was totally different from what I expected. I am being honest that I
was distracted and I have to learn how to balance everything that was going on in my personal life and
it was a struggle to balance my social, spiritual and my education.
With always doing well in school without studying. I learned that I do not know how to study and I
