This document provides guidelines for coding diseases of the genitourinary system using ICD-10. It describes the organs included in the genitourinary system and outlines sections for coding various diseases. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) coding is based on disease stage from N18.1 to N18.5, with end-stage renal disease coded as N18.6. When a patient has had a kidney transplant, codes for CKD stage and kidney transplant status (Z94.0) should both be included. The document lists sections for coding different types of diseases affecting the kidneys, ureters, urinary system, male and female genital organs, and breast.
