History:-
• In 1860 scientist Florescence Nightingale was perform first model of systemic collection of hospital
data.
• In 1893 French scientist Jacques Bertillon was perform classification of cause of death.
• In 1898 American public health association recommended revision of ICD in every 10 years and then
handover to the WHO it is responsible to revise it periodically
Providing a system of diagnostic code for classifying diseases it includes-

• Social circumstances
• External cause of injury or diseases.

mortality data on death certificate & morbidity data from patient & clinical records.
• The core of the ICD-10 uses one single list of Four alphanumeric character codes from A00.0 to Z99.0
First letter of code is designates for different chapter (22 chapters)
