Alice plans to create a platform/adventure video game for her project. She enjoyed the creative aspects of frame animation in a previous project. For her new game, she will design characters and backgrounds set in a jungle environment. The game may include challenges like collecting objects and crossing bridges. Alice will allow players to choose from animal or human characters. She will also create additional selectable characters. Objects like coins and mushrooms could be collected during gameplay. Alice has created a schedule to design characters, backgrounds, and program character and object movement over five weeks. She has researched popular mobile and video games like Temple Run and Super Mario Bros to inform her project plans.

The world is being changed fundamentally by AI and we are constantly faced with newspaper headlines about its harmful effects. However, there is also the potential to both ameliorate theses harms and use the new abilities of AI to transform society for the good. Can you make the difference?
Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

2. Initial Reaction
In this project I feel like creating video games isn’t my strong point, I enjoy more of the print project and
camera work. However, when I first used frame animation in my Iron Bru Advergame I did quite enjoy the
artistic and creative side of it when designing the different characters and backgrounds. I also enjoyed
moving around the different characters and objects on each frame to make it look like everything was
moving. It was always interesting to see the outcomes. For my Irn Bru Advergame I made a platform type
of video game where the player had to get through small challenges by following the instruction. I have
considered making a game like this for my video game project.
I do remember that I used to get quite confused when it came down to arranging the layers as I made so
many of them and sometimes layers overlapped, etc so things got complicated. Most of the time I did
manage to figure a way around it though. When doing my game production I will try and make sure my
layers are all set up correctly, and I will even name the layers if it helps me understand what each one
represents.
At first I didn’t really know what sort of game to choose for my project, whether it would be adventure,
platform, action, mind game, etc. I have played different video and mobile games in the past and the
type of ones I would usually play are platform games so therefor for my project my main focus would
probably be on a platform/adventure kind of game. I played games like super Mario Bros, Doodle Jump
and also never ending running games on mobile like Temple Run and Subway Surfers.
6. Mood Board Analysis
The main theme when designing my mood board
is pictures of pixelated jungles/rainforests. I like
the idea that my video game will have the theme
of being in a jungle or a forest environment.
This image is an example of the type of
background I could design for my video game as
it wouldn’t be that complicated to create in my
animation.
For my video game I think I may
add scenarios or backgrounds
where the character has to cross
over a bridge or a platform. I could
add in challenges such as collecting
objects. In this image from an
existing game you can can see that
there is an end goal after crossing
the bridge. In my video game I am
going to add an end game that the
player has to work towards.
The visual effects are also quite
interesting in this existing video game
and the theme is similar to the theme
I want to use for my final product.
Characters:
For my production I will have a
selection of characters that the
player can choose from. I could let
the players decide whether they
want to have an animal as a
character or a person. I will
probably make a character that
looks like an adventurer, but I will
also create a couple of other
characters that you can chose from
In my video game production I will probably place
small objects that can be collected while playing
the game. This may include coins, leaves,
mushrooms, etc. The objects give the game
another objective as the player has something
they can collect as the game goes on.
