New Classical Macroeconomics Arose From The Monetarism And...
Introduction
New Classical Macroeconomics arose from the Monetarism and Rational Expectation School in the
1970s and follows the tradition of classical economics. If the market mechanism is allowed to play its
role spontaneously, which could solve the unemployment, recession and a series of macroeconomic
issues. Keynesian economists believe that changes in the money supply will lead to changes in
effective demand that will changes in the total economy. For economic cycle fluctuation, Keynesian
economists believe that is a disequilibrium phenomenon. In 1960s, Keynesian economists appealed to
the Phillips curve, which means monetary or fiscal policy will lead to lower unemployment rate and
cause higher inflation rate as well. However, the new classical rejected the idea, which argued that an
expansion of aggregate demand will cause lowered unemployment and economics fluctuation are
economics balance under the incomplete information. Unexpected the monetary shock is significant
reason for equilibrium change. Luca s critique take into account the Philips curve should used for

Neoclassical macroeconomists believe that the short term Phillips curve is inexistence. New classical

Critical Review of a Research Article
Manchester University MEd Educational Psychology Student Registration Number: 440880 MD699
Research Issues in Psychology Critical Review of a Research Article Pupils who exhibit gifted
characteristics along with another disability are referred to as ‘twice exceptional students (Morrison,
2001; Nielsen 2002). This term is used in the article that I have chosen to review, which analyses the
responses and perceptions through interview, of one particular individual (Andrew) who was
identified as being gifted and talented (G/T) and who had emotional and behavioural disabilities
(EBD). What the researchers aimed to accomplish through this analysis was a clearer understanding of
Andrew s community and school experiences, as they stated that ... Show more content on

In this study there was no deficit in the amount of data collected by the questions asked by the
researcher, with Andrew providing ‘depth and clarification (p.3) in some replies. The findings that
the researchers identified (p.3) form the next part of my critique. The themes which were found
through analysis of the data compare to other researchers who find that gifted children in particular
suffer from various social vulnerabilities as a result of their special needs (Porter, 1999; Lovecky
1992; Schuler 2003). What strikes me about some of the data is the bias which comes across from
Andrew s reflections. He states, They uprooted me and put me in a classroom because of my
behaviour instead of trying to deal with the behaviour in the classroom (p.3). The researchers analyse
this as being the participant s anger and frustration towards his labelled disabilities. He then goes on to
describe, I don t remember a single thing that we did in there that I considered as being educational
(p.3). Were these statements an actuality of what he would have stated at the time in question, or were
they the result of his ability to reflect from a teacher s perspective? Nevertheless the statements he
makes, which are often quite controversial e.g. We did not learn about math or science that I recall
(p.3), do seem to be conducive to the type of evidence that the researchers may have required to

Globe Theatre Impact
William Shakespeare has been known during and after his time as a literary genius. Yet, in addition to
his noteworthy plays, he also contributed to his community by increasing the fame of The Globe
Theatre. Since his influential role, the Globe Theatre has enchanted and attracted numerous visitors
through the course of the years. Yet aside from this attraction, many of these individuals are not aware
of the rich history behind this significant structure. However, with the knowledge of the Globe Theatre
s humble beginnings, rise to fame, and its role to modern day guests, the appreciation of this
architectural beauty readily increases. And armed with this awareness, one manages to grasp the
impact of the Globe Theatre on the past and present. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After its elimination, the Globe Theatre remained virtually unknown with only several individuals
recalling its glory. This obscurity lasted until the 1970s when an ambitious American actor, Sam
Wanamaker, undertook the task of rebuilding the Globe Theatre. During his project in 1989, the
original building s skeleton was uncovered and this discovery aided with Wanamaker s attempt at
replicating the original building. Wanamaker s vision was ultimately completed in 1996, but the
official opening took place the next year, much to the public s satisfaction. Plays and events continue
to occur at the Globe Theatre and do not fail to enchant theatergoers through the charm and grace of

High School Writing Analysis
Throughout my years of being a student I ve written several pieces for several different classes, some I
may flaunt just a bit while with other pieces I try to just turn in, get a grade, and then hide in the back
of a folder in order to keep others from seeing the slightly subpar work I may have produced. While I
always do try to write eloquently there has always been that one assignment in that one class in which
I just try my hardest to get a good grade rather than write something I m particularly proud of. For
example, last year for AP World History I produced a well formatted, well researched paper on the
Guatemalan genocide. While it was written properly I feel as though I could have provided more
depth and insight on the topic being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do know that these are not the types of papers that I can just write in order to please a teacher by
following an outline to get a good grade, these are papers that require a different type of
comprehension as to the topic you re writing. Being able to reflect back onto the papers I ve done in
high school, book reports in particular, it s clear as to which mistakes I ve made in my writing. One of
the errors that I am probably most guilty of is not writing to a proper audience. The first thing I m
usually thinking when writing a paper is will this appeal to my teacher? and is this good enough to
score an A? and I don t believe that s a particularly good way to go about writing when in college.
Rather than speaking solely to your professors, it s important to be sure a wider array of people can
enjoy or relate to what it is you re writing. For example I m sure this paper in particular could appeal
to many high school students, because I m sure we re all guilty of making this mistake when

Good Vs Evil In Beowulf
The constant battle between good and evil rages still rages. Good rests upon a pedestal, surrounded by
the amazing holy light from above. It remains in the positive light, often being looked up to and
sometimes even applauded. On the other hand, evil fails to maintain the same respect and honor as
good. Evil remains surrounded by the darkness. It lingers around every corner, waiting for the next
chance to seduce anyones mind and soul at any given moment. It waits for the chance to bring havoc
into one s life ,but right as the chance comes, good emerges from the distance, right on time to
interfere with the evil scheme. The battle between good and evil never ends and becomes more violent
as each day passes. It occurs everywhere and all the time. The constant battle of good versus evil
remains proven by the epic poem Beowulf, the poem Good Vs Evil which shows the ongoing battle,
and the Holy Bible that shows evidence that this battle of good and evil has always existed. The epic
poem Beowulf contains a courageous hero. He embodies the side of good and epitomizes the
characteristics of a hero. He runs into multiple perilous battles against gruesome monsters. These
monsters include ones such as Grendel, Grendel s Mother, and the fire breathing dragon. The monsters
symbolize a life filled with darkness, evil, and sin. The first monster Beowulf comes to slaughter goes
by the name of Grendel. He was a [monster] born of cain, murderous creatures banished by God (20

A Common Pathway for a Rare Disease Article Review Tyler Whitehead Cellular Biology Dr. Janick
Buckner October 2, 2014 A Common Pathway for a Rare Disease is an article published in Science, in
December 2013 and was published by Scott B. Vafai and Vamsi K. Mootha. The objective of this
article was to raise awareness of the, at the time, newly developed research regarding Leigh
Syndrome, a rare disease that effects mostly newly born and developing babies. The research linked
the effectiveness of compound Rapamycin on extending the longevity of those affected by Leigh s
Syndrome. Rapamycin, according to Vafai et al. is a compound that has been known to inhibit the
protein kinase Mechanistic Target of Rapamycin, also known ... Show more content on

The main point of confusion in this paper comes from this passage glucose restriction, an intervention
that works in part through the TOR pathway, extends the life span of yeast lacking homologs of genes
implicated in Leigh Syndrome. (Vafai et al.) The reason why this causes confusion is because it is not
clear as to how glucose restriction increases the longevity of the model yeast cells, and more so as to
how this can relate to Leigh s Syndrome in humans. It is understood that yeast cells, predominately,
produce ATP through fermentation (Morton et al.); this being said, fermentation is not commonly used
in the human body. Therefore it is difficult to understand how this relates to humans, of whom, most
commonly use an entirely different pathway for ATP production. To me, it seems as though Vafai et al.
mentions glucose and yeast fermentation then jumps straight to applying Rapamycin to the Leigh s
Syndrome model

Sierra Stage Performance Analysis
I watched Sierra Stages performance of Christopher Durang s Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
on Broad Street, Nevada City, March 14, 2015. This was directed by Jeffery Mason in a proscenium
theater configuration. I will discuss how all aspects of the performance except one worked well within
verisimilitude, the creative concept for this production except one and how Each of the parts of the
play contributed to the performance. The conventions of the play were easy to determine and most of
them are familiar conventions. They include:. They were: Representational theater; relatable
characters; two act form; comedy; mythical characters allowed; set in the present; mirrors Chekov s
characters and events from his plays. For the most part, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly Vanya is the protagonist, that almost all of the action is centered around him. He is used by the
playwright to promote the importance to family through his providing of companionship and
emotional support firstly, to his mother and then to his sister. Secondly, Sonia is the confidant of
Vanya who talks, eats, and grew up with him. Sonia, by valuing appearances, contributes to the theme
of vanity of appearances and it is made obvious through her appearance loving is foolish. She also has
lots of arguments with her brother, touching on the Contentious relatives theme of Chekov s plays.
Thirdly, Masha is another confidant of Vanya, helps communicate the appearance theme by doing
what Sonia does in her heart and because she finances her sisters. Fourthly, Masha contributes to the
Contentious relatives of Chekov s plays. By choosing a boyfriend that is immature, she promotes
Chekov s theme of Mismatched lovers Fourthly, Spike serves as a protagonist who causes grief for,
betrays, and tempts Masha to sell the house. He is a mismatched lover and promotes its theme. He also
loves his appearance, so he contributes to the appearance theme. Cassandra is not a kind. Fifthly, Nina
is an antagonist who has an affair with Spike, praises Masha, and has a long discussion with Vanya.
The Idea of the play can be classified classified major categories:

Individualism In The Vikings
While the Viking Era was rather brief, these infamous Scandinavian brutes left a mark in history larger
than they themselves were tall.
The Vikings emerged from the present day area in Northern Europe known as Scandinavia, which
consists of the countries of Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Named for their legendary raids, the name
Viking is said to mean a pirate raid and originates from a dead language called Old Norse , which was
the native tongue of the Vikings.
Contrary to the widely Christian beliefs of the rest of medieval Europe, the Vikings held pagan
religious belief, meaning that they were polytheistic and believed in many gods. These beliefs were
flexible and corresponded to each individual Viking.

How Did The Weather Affect The Spread Of The Great Plague
October 1347, tewele trading ships docked on the Sicilian port of Messina after sailing across the
Black Sea. When they arrived on the dock more than half of the sailors aboard were incohesive and
the others were running high fevers. Everyone on the ship had black boils that oozed blood and pus. In
panic, the Sician authorities ordered all of ships and infected people out of the harbor.
The winter before the Great Plague was a dry one. Allowing rodents to live more freely. Since the
weather was on the more dryer side, the rodent population did not decrease as it would during any
other winter. When spring came along the air was hot and sticky, giving the female rodents a chance to
give birth to two litters. With London s hotter weather, it soonly became known as the rat infested city.
Another spreader of the Great Plague was fleas. Once the fleas had gotten ahold of the disease, they
would spread it to stray cats and dogs. These strays would then pass it to the homeless. ... Show more

Soon after there would be swelling around the armpits and private areas. These swellings would grow
between the sizes of an egg to an apple. The plague s symptoms then changed to a rash like symptom,
often breaking out on the inner thigh or arms where it would spread throughout the body. One of the
first victims of the Black Plague was St Giles in the Fields church, where their death rates began to
rise in the dry summer. If someone was detected to have the plague they were locked into their homes
for 40 days and 40 nights. Their door was also painted with a red cross to keep others out. The only
ones allowed into the homes of the victims were local women who were called nurses . These women
brought food and took care of the victims. It was often reported that the nurses would take belongings

The First Form Of Education
What was the first form of education in China? I have traced the first form of education in China back
to the Shang Dynasty (16 1405 BCE). Education was necessary to achieve desired positions in the
civil service (the administrative system of the government who ran the daily affairs in China) which
were the key to wealth. By establishing an educational system for the young of the elite, the positions
in the civil service became a cycle of the designated offspring being the most educated and the
educated being the most elite people in China. Most schools were divided into political entities to gain
social influence. The main focuses in the education of young Chinaman were the teachings of
Confucian. The curriculum was based on the philosophy of Confucianism. Confucianism is a form of
Humanism (a devotion of the humanities) with the main focus on educating people in the beliefs,
values and practices that govern life within the family and between family and state. The teachings of
Confucianism were taught from four books and the five classics. The four books are Chinese classic
texts that illustrated the core value and belief systems of Confucianism. The five classics were key text
of Confucianism; these were sacred books of traditional Chinese beliefs. Book one of the four books
was the Analects of Confucius (the saying of ideas recognized only by the Chinese), Book two was
Mencius, Mencius was a fourth century BCE (before the common/current/Christian era) Chinese

Misconceptions Of Being Naturally-Exploring Organic Compounds
Organic sulfur is found in nature in trace quantities. Although MSM is a naturally occurring sulfur
compound, the microscopic amounts occurring naturally in food are too small for extraction to be
sufficient for commercial production.
In fact, all organic sulfur is a manufactured product. There are different manufacturing processes,
some better than others.
Contrary to some misconceptions, commercially available organic sulfur does not come from wood,
plants or fossil fuels.
You simply can t just squeeze organic sulfur from a tree, extract it from plants or remove it from fossil
fuels. Rather, a chemical reaction is required to make organic sulfur.
The most natural organic sulfur would be to mimic the formation, function, and structure

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Short Story
The story of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is integral to the overall narrative of the
Israelites descent into Egypt. It also tells us that anyone can make his or her dreams come true. His
progression from dream interpreting shepherd to minister of Egypt is one of the most elaborate stories
in the Bible, the Book of Genesis. Joseph was born in a family of 12 boys and Joseph was his father s
favorite. Jacob wanted to show everyone how much he loved Joseph and decided to give him coat of
many colors. The coat of colors was a prestige gift in Canaan, because it was very expensive back
then. Joseph had a dream of 11 sheaves of corn that turned and bowed down to a golden sheaf of corn
another dream that was about the sun, moon, and sky with eleven stars bowing down before a bright
golden star. He knew that someday he was meant for more things to come that are powerful in his life.
This was God s way to show him that he will be great someday and be a ruler. With the combination
of knowing Joseph is Jacob s favorite son and Joseph s dreams of being one that he may be a ruler of
some kind, the 11 brothers become very jealous. One day, they decided that they wanted to kill him,
but before they get the chance, they came across a couple of Ishmaelite s on their way to Egypt. They
decided to sell Joseph as a slave. As Joseph is taken to Egypt, his brothers return home, told their
father that Joseph is dead; they brought back his coat stained with goat blood

Organizational Justice Impact Employee Job Commitment,...
Organizational justice is a concept that represents how fair employees feel they are being treated by
their employer. This encompasses distributive justice, perceptions around outcomes such as pay and
promotions, and procedural justice, how these outcomes are determined. Why is this important? An
organization s culture is defined by it. Organizational justice impacts employee job commitment,
satisfaction, and performance. Employees perceptions of fairness will impact how successful a
company is in their market. (Patrick, 2012) (Kreitner Kinicki, 2013)

As it sounds, pay transparency reflects on organizations decision to be open about the salary of each
employee/position. In his Ted Talk, David Burkus (2016) challenges the traditional practice of secrecy
around salaries. For Burkus (2016), pay transparency is the biggest way to combat inequity and pay
discrimination. Being open and transparent about how we compensate our team breeds trust amongst
all people involved, says Leo Widrich, CMO at Buffer (Baer, 2014). Buffer is a tech company focused
on products and services to help organizations maximize their social media campaigns. Buffer
publicly disclosed their salary formula and every employee is aware of what everyone makes, all the
way up to the CEO. They consider the move to pay transparency as an ethical imperative and
competitive advantage, highlighting their growth, profit, and company culture as proof. (Widrich,
2013)
Is pay transparency the answer to problems of inequity in the workplace? The results at Buffer seem to
point in that direction. However, larger organizations such as Google don t seem to embrace the idea
of pay transparency. An informal initiative internally publishing salaries, led by a Google engineer,
was less than welcomed resulting in the denial of the engineer s bonuses. (Weinberger, 2015)
Professor of Strategy and Strategic Leadership, Todd Zenger (2016) encourages organizations to count
the cost. According to Zenger, organizations should consider if pay

Conflict Theory
Conflict theory is the theory that human behavior in social contexts is the result of conflicts between
competing groups, as different social groups, be they class , gender or race defined, have unequal
power and access to power, yet all groups compete for limited resources. This inevitably gives rise to
tension and conflict, albeit often of the subtle variety, as oftentimes the conflicts between groups have
been institutionalized in society to such a degree that the conflicts and tensions are such an expected
part of society that the conflict, and inequality, itself disappears from public sight, and consciousness.
For example, an adherent of a world systems theory of conflict would point to the global competition
for resources, particularly the inequality between rich and poor nations struggling to provide the basic
necessities of life to their inhabitants, as evidence of global conflict. Conflict theories seek to explain
the interactions of groups within society, and assert that social order is preserved involuntarily through
the exercise of power one social class holds over another (Lindsey, 2010, 7). The conflict between
groups is not always obvious or apparent, so it must be unraveled and examined in order to identify
and establish the impact of such conflict on society as a whole, as well as individual members and
social groupings. Feminist conflict theory is concerned with the role and status of women in society,
particularly within the context of analyzing gender

Hiv in Nigeria
The history of HIV and AIDS in Nigeria
The first two HIV cases in Nigeria were identified in 1985 and were reported at an international AIDS
conference in 19866. In 1987 the Nigerian health sector established the National AIDS Advisory
Committee, which was shortly followed by the establishment of the National Expert Advisory
Committee on AIDS (NEACA).
At first the Nigerian government was slow to respond to the increasing rates of HIV transmission7 and
it was only in 1991 that the Federal Ministry of Health made their first attempt to assess the Nigerian
HIV/AIDS situation. The results showed that around 1.8 percent of the population of Nigeria were
infected with HIV. Subsequent surveillance reports revealed that during the 1990s the HIV ... Show

He stated on the day, A great majority of Nigerians have now come to accept the reality of AIDS 17.
However, the statistics show that the Nigerian government desperately need to scale up HIV testing
rates in order to bring the epidemic under control.
Cultural practices
Women are particularly affected by the epidemic in Nigeria. In 2006 UNAIDS estimated that women
accounted for 61.5 percent of all adults aged 15 and above living with HIV18.
Traditionally, women in Nigeria marry young, although the average age at which they marry varies
between states. A 2007 study revealed that 54 percent of girls from the North West aged between 15
24 were married by age 15, and 81 percent were married by age 1819. The study showed that the
younger married girls lacked knowledge on reproductive health, which included HIV/AIDS. They also
tend to lack the power and education needed to insist upon the use of a condom during sex. Coupled
with the high probability that the husband will be significantly older than the girl and therefore is more
likely to have had more sexual partners in the past, young women are more vulnerable to HIV
infection within marriage.
Poor healthcare system
Over the last two decades, Nigeria s healthcare system has deteriorated as a result of political
instability, corruption and a mismanaged economy. Large parts of the country lack even basic
healthcare provision, making it difficult to establish HIV testing and prevention services

Shooting Stars
Shooting Stars
The poem Shooting Stars by Carol Ann Duffy tells a shocking story of a female prisoner held by
Nazis in a concentration camp around the time of the Holocaust. The poem is set in 1940, Hitler and
his Nazi party had taken control of most of Europe and had vowed to exterminate the entire Jewish
race.
Duffy s haunting use of imagery and word choice make this poem so memorable and its very strong
opening prepares the reader for the rest of the poem.
The title choice, Shooting Stars is a very effective and ambiguous title. The first meaning is that the
word Stars represent the Jewish symbol, The Star of David. Jewish people were forced to wear them
on their clothes to mark them out as targets of abuse and torment for ... Show more content on

The word gaze shows that these men are detached from their emotions as they are part of a mass
slaughtering which seems hard to believe that that is humanly possible.
Duffy then uses the literary technique, enjambment to combine the first and second stanzas. This
technique is used to emphasize the point, Mourn for the daughters / upright as statues and carry the
impact through the two stanzas. Duffy shows how the women are stood firm and even in the most
humiliating, de humanised state.
You would not look at me. / You waited for the bullet the woman is looking out for her friend as they
are waiting to be killed. For the woman to be faced with death and looking out for her friend shows
the incredibly selfless personality of the Jews. The following single word line, Fell is a euphemism for
the death of the woman and gives a strong, short impact to the reader and acts like a literary bullet
which is literally the object which killed her.
Duffy tells us to Remember these appalling days which make the world forever bad . She gives the
word Remember a capital letter to emphasize the fact that we should not forget what happened there.
Duffy believes that if the memory of this atrocity stays in our memory, we can avoid any other mass,
human caused disaster to reoccur.
Enjambment is once again used to link stanzas two and three. One saw I was alive. Loosened / his

The Real Life Example Of Shared Knowledge And Personal...
How do you gain shared knowledge? Let us take a cake for example; the cake is made up of many
different ingredients. A recipe may be said to be knowledge because it tells you how to make the cake
step by step. Looking at this shared knowledge shapes your personal knowledge and next time you
might not need the recipe because the recipe would be part of your own personal knowledge. If shared
knowledge is knowledge that has been received from people or sources around you then personal
knowledge is knowledge that is gained directly through firsthand experience or observation .
Shared knowledge usually shapes personal knowledge. Even when an inexperienced cook has a
recipe, they might still not be able to make a good cake. Looking at this example we can see that the
shared knowledge being the recipe can shape the personal knowledge of both the cooks and because
the experienced cook has more personal knowledge, he is able to come up with a better cake than the
inexperienced cook.
Let use an example from cooking to illustrate how shared knowledge can shape personal knwledge.

The Demise of Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site
Located in present day Collinsville, Illinois is Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, which was once
home to the largest city north of Mexico from 700 to 1400 A.D. Settled by the Mississippian people,
today their decline remains a mystery. First visited in 1811 by traveler Henry Brackenridge and
considered the discoverer of Cahokia only in the sense that he wrote several papers and articles about
the findings to the public s attention. After walking around the mounds, Brackenridge described that
the locations of the last inhabitants were clearly visible to him, as were fragments of their tools and
utensils. Many extensive archeological excavations and several case study theories have come about
through the years as to why this magnificent ancient metropolis faced such demise.
Many theories viable or not have come about through the years about the fall of the Cahokians,
climate change, a political falling out, a massive flood or a fire and some erroneous suggestions
involving the cosmos. Many of these theories really do not hold a torch to the climate change or
societal fall. A massive fire, a disastrous flood, although more evidence of remains would have be
revealed to be appropriate. Overcrowding and depletion of resources can hold up to the evidence and
reigns true in common sense. I will bring up these factors of cause for the demise, but I will explore
and focus mainly on the climate changes in this American Bottom region as the prime factor of the

Determination of a Rate Equation Essay
Determination of a Rate Equation
Rate equation has the form rate = k [A]x[B]y which shows how the rate of a chemical reaction
depends on the concentration of the reactants
(A B) and the rate constant k. The rate equation normally indicates what species are involved in the
rate determining step and how many species are involved.
A rate equation is used to describe how the concentration of a product increases or the concentration
of the reactants decreases with time, the equation also indicates how the concentration of one or more
reactants directly affects the rate. Occasionally it can even be the concentration of a product that
affects the rate. In general the rate equation for the reaction: A + B C + D

The Inferno And What Dante
Introduction
This paper critically analyzes the character Dante in the Comedia. The paper analyzes the nature of the
journey in the Inferno and what Dante needed to learn from it. The changes that were experienced
have been analyzed in addition to the important parts of the text that are related to the changes.
Moreover, the discussion has been keen to provide relevant illustrations as the case may be in order to
emphasize on the character and the changes that are being addressed.
Discussion
The Inferno within the context of this discussion refers to the first part of Dante Alighieri s poem. This
is a chronicle of a journey to God by the leading character in the form of Dante. It is worth noting that
the journey has been split into three classical parts, each depicting the changes that are being portrayed
throughout the journey of Dante. The first part is the inferno, which is a loose interpretation of hell
and with it comes the changes that are being portrayed in the character s story journey. The second
part is the purgatorio, which can be interpreted to refer to the purgatory of the story and the changes
that occur at this point are characterized by the ever present notion of a sense of undertaking. In this
part, Dante is confronted by a series of situations in which he has to reach a mental decision ,while at
the same time taking a purge of his internal thoughts. The last and final part of the change is depicted
in Paradiso, a reference to paradise. Here, Dante has

Summary Of The Tone Of Carrt Sandburg Grass
The Sorrowful Tone of Carl Sandburg Grass In the poem, Grass, Robert Sandburg gives a
personification to the grass, and gives us a strong message about war. Sandburg mentions several wars
and how after many years nature has done a good job on heal its fields after being extremely damaged
due to war, but the pain that leaves to us is something that will never go away. On the first line,
Sandburg starts his poem by giving us a disturbing image of the aftermath of war. The line Pile the
bodies high at Austerlitz and Waterloo tells us how there were many casualties during these two wars.
The battle of Austerlitz left more than fifteen thousand casualties not to mention the Battle of Waterloo
which left more than twenty five thousand casualties. Although these wars occurred more than two
hundred years ago, it is something still remembered in history, and at the time when all the tragedies
occurred we can infer that it left many people grieving for the loss of their loved ones. Wars have
always been disastrous, tragic events that end physically and emotionally the lives of many people,
including adults and children. Going back to the poem, the grass is the narrator of the poem and by
reading the first line we can deduce that it, the grass, tells the remaining soldiers, or the people taking
care of the dead bodies, to pile them up because having them spread out across the field would
probably would take up a lot of space that could be needed for other soldiers or medics. Now,

Stephen Dedalus Childhood
The entire book, Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, is written about a young man named Stephen
Dedalus and his transition into an artist throughout his childhood and adolescence years. Stephen s
childhood was not typical, as during his younger years he experienced more terror and tribulation,
then innocence and wonder. Unlike the other children of his time, Stephen cared more about literature
and religion, and normally strayed far from his group. Not only were Stephen s social interactions the
cause of his terrorizing and painful childhood, but Stephen also faced many religious and family
complications along the way. The experiences and challenges that Stephen faced during his childhood
helped contribute to the meaning and understanding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the book Stephen s relationship with his parents is described as complicated and complex.
At the beginning of the story, Stephen starts to get frustrated with his parents after having to move
multiple times due to not being able to pay the bills. During one of Stephen s school changes, it is
stated that he had felt the slight changes in his house; and these changes in what he had deemed
unchangeable were so many slight shocks to his boyish conception of the world (74). This proves that
these constant changes not only in houses, but also in schools, affected Stephen s childhood. These
instinaces made Stephen s relationship with his parent s complicated, as he was two young to fully
understand what was going on. Since Stephen did not fully get along with his parents, it allowed him
to use school as his way of escaping them. Being able to get away at school then allowed Stephen to
develop his own beliefs and opinions about religion, politics, and the world. When Stephen returns
home from school, his parents test him again, with his dad calling him a lazy bitch and his mom
telling him he will rue the day (179). If Stephen would not have had a complicated and difficult
relationship with his parents, then he would have never ventured out into the world, discovering his

Truth Evident in the Many Beliefs of Al Ghazali and Aquinas
At first glance the words Tradition and tradition may appear to be identical concepts. Upon further
study, examination, and contemplation, however, these two words differ in their precise definitions.
Tradition carries more weight and meaning than the word tradition. Similarly, Truth and truth do not
denote the exact same principle. In fact, philosophers and religious scholars have been debating the
origins of the latter two doctrines since the Middle Ages. The major dispute associated with Truth with
a capital T and truth with a lower case t focuses around the field of study in which each is used.
According to two prominent thinkers of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The general stance of Al Ghazali is that he eventually departs from philosophy and becomes a Sufi
mystic (Inglis).
Within Sufism, Al Ghazali defined the difference between Ilham (inspiration) and Ta allum (reasoning
or learning). He believes that inspiration and revelation in union with religion hold a superior position
than reasoning that originates from philosophy. Rational knowledge, according to Al Ghazali, is
always relative to the senses. The knowledge of the senses, however, cannot be trusted as valid. True
knowledge, known as the Truth, only comes through inspiration and revelation (McCarthy 378). Al
Ghazali introduces the aspect of God, or Allah, in the acquisition of perfect knowledge. Inspiration
can bring one closer to Allah than philosophical learning alone (Inglis). Ultimately, this idea of Ilham
brings with it the Supreme Reality which is equivalent to Truth (McCarthy 378). In practical terms, Al
Ghazali believes that the necessary Truths of the intellect begin from a light which God most high cast
into my breast. That light is the key to the greater part of knowledge (Al Ghazali 25). An individual
can only experience this light of God if he or she has reached the state.
According to Al Ghazali, when an individual is in the state, the Truth is revealed to him or her by the
divine workings of Allah, and the knowledge of reason has no value. So how does one achieve this
great state? This

The Technology Of Communication Systems
Abstract:
Technology is increasing rapidly. Various new technologies in various fields are emerging day by day.
Among them Communication Systems is the branch in which most part of the scientists are focused
on. CDMA, GSM, 3G, 4G are examples of the technologies that are developed in this field. Behind all
the components included in the technology of communication system, Antennas take the most part.
Smart antenna system received a greater interest for its involvement in performance improvement of
wireless radio systems. Many techniques are included in this system such as enhancing received signal
strength, reducing the interference and increasing capacity, etc. The main purpose of this paper is to
provide how scientists approached and achieved towards smart antenna. Thus, this paper includes
problems in communication, how it is overcame by smart antenna, its working like beamforming,
adaptive system etc.
Introduction:
A decade ago, Communication systems haven t been able to properly exploit the spatial component of
mobile radio channel. Communication systems has been facing two main problems. One is using very
small amount of energy and second is interference problem i.e., mixing of main signal with signal
from other communication links. Here, the solution is eliminating interference and collecting total
radiated energy. It may sound simple, but yes it is the solution. The system which can able to do these
two works is smart antenna system.

Reasons Why Guns Should Be Banned
Violence is out of control, and guns are a major cause Should Guns Be Banned? introduction. This is a
belief many Americans now share. This belief is fueling a nationwide movement that could result in a
total prohibition on private gun ownership in the near future. Just imagine if every handgun owner was
made to dispose of their gun, how much more peaceful the U. S. or rather the world would be?
Ownership of private guns is being banned one step at a time.
The recently enacted Brady Bill mandates a national five day waiting period and background check
for all handgun purchases (Wollstein par. 1). Maryland has just passed a law that requires a state
license for any handgun purchase and limits purchases to one per month. Also, President Clinton
banned the importation of most foreign made, semiautomatic rifles (Reynolds 1). On February 28,
1994, Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen announced that several 12 gauge semiautomatic shotguns
were being reclassified in the same category as machine guns (Wollstein par. ). The Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms simultaneously announced that they would trace the owners of 18,000
of these shotguns and order them to be fingerprinted and to register their guns with the ATF within 30
days or face ten years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine (Wollstein par. 4). On the same day that
semiautomatic shotguns were reclassified, Senator Howard Metzenbaum introduced legislation that
would require all handgun owners to get a federal license, pass a safety test, and register their weapons
with police (Reynolds 3).
Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan has proposed legislation that would raise the tax on some
ammunition up to 10,000 percent. The price of a single box of Winchester 9 millimeter hollow tipped
cartridges would increase to $15,000( ). Would banning guns reduce crime? According to recent polls,
most Americans now support gun licensing as a way to reduce crime. Crime has certainly been
increasing particularly violent crime. Between 1960 and 1980, robberies nationwide increased by 300
percent. In the same period, both the number of handguns and the national murder rate doubled
(Wollstein par. ). But is the proliferation of guns the cause of violence or a response to violence?

Short Story Endings In Short Stories
Closure and Endings found in Short Stories Every story must start somewhere, but not every story has
to have a complete ending, or even a clear one. With the development of the short story, the variation
between short story endings has gradually increased as time has gone on, like the difference between a
final ending in Flannery O Connor s A Good Man is Hard to Find or John Cheever s The Swimmer.
However, the endings of some short stories also depend on the style of how the story is written, like
Amy Tan s Two Kinds, which is a part of a larger novel, and Kate Chopin s The Blind Man, which is a
new branch of short fiction writing called microfiction. The ending also comes about based on the
subject matter found in the story. For example, Tan is a second generation Chinese American like her
character, June, in Two Kinds. Cheever lived through the Great Depression, and his family went
through a similar fall from grace like his character Neddy did in The Swimmer. They say to write what
you know, and these authors come to their endings through their own experiences and the type of style
that they write in. Flannery O Connor was a writer on rented time. Confined to her house throughout
the final days of her illness, critics theorize that she spent a good amount of time thinking about how
her life was coming to a close. Andre Bleikasten, author of Beginnings and Endings in Flannery O
Connor, believes that the reason why many of her stories end with such a finality

beneficial yet may still have consequences with it. One of the main advantages of digital writing is
that it is so easy to get your ideas, opinions, and knowledge out to the world. Anyone with one

Artificial Neural Network Advantages And Disadvantages
ABSTRACT An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is an information processing paradigm that is
inspired by the way biological nervous systems, such as the brain, process information [1]. Artificial
Neural Networks (ANN) also called neuro computing, or parallel distributed processing (PDP),
provide an alternative approach to be applied to problems where the algorithmic and symbolic
approaches are not well suited. The objective of the neural network is to transform the inputs into
meaningful outputs. There are many researches which show that brain store information as pattern.
Some of these patterns are very complicated and allows us to recognize from different angles. This
paper gives a review of the artificial neural network and analyses the techniques in terms of
performance. Keywords ANN, PDP, ITNN, CPN, CNN, CCNN, HN, TSP, RNN, Bi ANN, CDR, LRN
INTRODUCTION The objective of the neural network is to transform the input to meaningful output.
Neural networks are often used for statistical analysis and data modeling. Neural network has many
uses in data processing, robotics, and medical diagnosis [2]. From the starting of the neural network
there are various types found, but each and every types has some advantages and disadvantages. Deep
learning and neural network software are the categories of artificial neural network. The parallel

The Pros And Cons Of Year-Round Education
Gone are the days of children getting off of school to help their family farms during the summer. Now,
children as well as the teachers get out for some much needed relaxation. So why do we still follow
the same schedule? It seems every school year the discussion of year round education captures the
attention of the general public. Is it time for year round education (YRE) to be the new norm?
Ultimately, there are not that many pros for year round schooling to be the new thing and the
traditional 180 day schedule should be kept.
Many schools across the America have tried implementing year round education. However, some
school districts that tried YRE go back to the 180 day schedule (Sardo Brown, Deborah, and Michael
Rooney 1). When year round education is proposed most of the time opposition is met. In 1992,
parents of a possible pilot school were surveyed on their thoughts. 59% of the parents responded.
There was an overwhelming amount of rejection. Just 10% of those surveyed favored YRE where
83% were against (Sardo Brown, Deborah, and Michael Rooney 1).
So why is there such opposition for year round school? The concerns seem to arise with the idea of
taking away summer vacation. Most cite that both the students and the teachers need a break from
school. This also the time where many families have vacation. Summer is the time where family spend
time together without homework and project due dates looming over the students. This looming

Pandemic Death Monologue
Pandemic Death So It started when I was young about nine years of age and it was early in the year
1350. It started a little like this, there was a knock on the door and I got up to go see who it was. When
I opened the door there was a man on his horse. The man asked my parents were home, they were, so I
said I could go and get them. Once I had gotten my parents the man asked if they are willing to go on
a trip through the sea to Kwillining, London. They said they would, so they put in there few overalls
and dirty old jeans into a small waggon that are going to have to hall 46 miles to get to the ship. I have

Her mother had just died of plague and Elizabeth needed somewhere to go so, I invited her over.
Brett said,
We all went inside and ate some soup. Once we were done we told each other a little about what we
liked to do for fun. After that we drew things in the dirt. WE were having so much fun together...Until
there was a deep voice outside our door.
The voice was booming, dark, and scary. They then suddenly I saw the door split in two. A man about
twice the height as me then thundered in. The man started rambling on about how everyone is dieing
and that the world was going to end. I noticed there were swollen oval shaped things the size of an
apple.
The man then asked, I ve traveled a long way and i m so tired of seeing dead bodies everywhere I go I
was also wondering if I could sit a while here. Just about everyone is dead around here.
I told him he could stay a while and I got him some fresh water. The man said he would replace our
door and he was very sorry for hacking it down.
He got up and was getting ready to leave when he fell to the floor weakly and started coughing up
blood. We knew exactly what this meant. He had the

The Room Hall By Ash Essay
Hustling through the school hallways, Ash could see the Dining Hall several feet away in his sight.
When he was about to reach his destination, a new voice belonging to a young female called out to
him. Hey you! He immediately skidded to a halt and glances over his shoulder to the source of the
voice, noting that two shady characters were running up to him.
The girl who called out to him moments ago had brown skin with dark red eyes and light, mint green
hair styled with a straight fringe and bangs, as well as two long locks on each side, in the back. She
wears an exotic looking white top, a shallow cut olive undershirt, white pants, and brown chaps that
end at her calves, along with an overlong belt.
Her partner in crime was a pale skinned, young man with silver gray eyes and gray hair, dressed in a
gray and black zip jacket, black pants, along with a single notched belt, and a bandana draped over it.
Protecting his arms were sets of rerebraces and vambraces.
Um, hi, is there something you two want with me? the black haired teen asked awkwardly, keeping his
eyes glued on the duo with narrowed eyes.
There was something about them he couldn t trust.
You could say that, said the dark tanned girl with a smile. By chance, are you Ash?
Y Yes...?
So Her friend had a smug expression on his face. you re the one they were talking about. Huh. We
didn t expect we would come across you sooner than we expected.
Ash furrowed his brows in suspicion.

First Day Of High School Essay
September 6th, the day we return back to school and sit within the walls of York High School. As I
walk through the door, I see all the familiar faces whom I have not seen since the day school got out. I
walk by the seniors, who are older but not too intimidating, and remember my days as a freshman
where I was scared to even walk by an upperclassmen. On the other side of the lunchroom is the
freshman. All huddled up and quiet, they are anxious yet scared for their new high school experience.
Chatter started in every which way as more and more students entered the cafeteria to gather before
the school day officially started. Oh my gosh, hi! I missed you, how was your summer? This was the
friendly and half fake phrase many of the girls said to each other as they entered the room. The first
bell rang at 7:45 AM, and every student stood up and one big cluster emerged. One by one students
entered the quiet classroom, where everyone sat silently trying to make a good first impression on
their new teacher. I picked out a seat, in the front, where I know I will be able to see the board, and not
get too distracted. The teacher stands up and does the typical first day of school introduction along
with the syllabus speech. Although going back to school is horrible, the first day is always the easiest.
The first day consists of teacher s standing and talking the whole block, and our only homework is
gathering supplies or getting papers signed. I d say that it is a pretty easy first

Ringworm Essay

animals skin. Ringworms can also be called tinea corporis. Children, athletics, and people who change
in locker rooms, are the most commonly people that can get affected by this infection. People who has
weakened immune system have more problem fighting off ringworms. Pets can also have ringworm
infection. People believe that ringworms is an infection that has something to do with real worms, but
we know that this is a fungal infection and has nothing to do with real worms, it is just a rash on the
surface of the skin, that is shaped like a ring. This infection can be track back to at least 1800s,
because the population of this infection was so little, and doctors did not know how to cure it or what
was causing it. This infection was more commonly on poor people, this people were the most infected,
because the lack of hygiene. As we know this infection is not only common on humans, also on
animals. Although the ringworm infection has been around for a long time, most studies were not
conducted on ringworm until men in the military began to get it during World War II. The humid
conditions in the South Pacific were responsible for the soldiers contracting this infection of
ringworm. In the 1900s doctors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cholera Outbreak
In 1849 London experienced a major outbreak of cholera due to the polluted water, which claimed the
lives of about 15,000 residents. William Farr believed that cholera traveled through the air instead of
the water. Also he conducted many analysis of several variables in relation to the outbreak and their
relationship to death from cholera. From these findings he developed detailed statistics from the
environmental conditions that he observed from the local bodies of water. Working with William Farr
s findings, John Snow was a physician which came to the conclusion that there was a relationship
between the water sources and the cholera outbreak ( John Snow The Father Of Epidemiology ).
Due to the fact that Snow believed that contaminated water

Informational Constraints
1. Chapter eight describes three broader goals of one s audience in addition to those discussed earlier
in the textbook. One of these is security. Another is professional growth. As the textbook notes, people
want to develop and grow on the job...they want to learn more skills and assume new duties...and they
want to work for an organization that is developing and growing (Markel, 2012). 2. Constraints within
technical writing are things such as the amount of information that can be gathered for a paper, the
required length and format, the due date, etc. (Markel, 2012), that impact the writing process. These
often help a writer compose a document however they also can be a hindrance as well. An example of

A commonsense argument is one that appeals to a person s understanding and experience of how the
world works. The textbook notes, if your audience s commonsense arguments match yours, your
argument is likely to be persuasive. Often, people can act in mysterious ways, and this is an effective
way to present an argument. Like the University of Maryland s University College notes on their
website, Clear thinking requires that you state your claim and support it with concrete, specific facts.
This approach appeals to our common sense... ( Writing Arguments, 2011). 7. One type of argument is
one that argues against the writer themselves, instead of against the writer s argument. This is known
as a ad hominem argument, or an argument against the speaker (Markel, 2012) according to the
textbook. Ad hominem arguments are useful in convincing someone to do something or of a side of
something because of a characteristic they possess. These arguments are logical fallacies that are
colloquially known as mistakes in reasoning ( What is..., n.d.) that are often not mistakes that can help
writers and speakers win persuasive

Some of our ships were in Africa and were being attacked by a group of pirates called the Barbary
Pirates. marines would fight a great battle against them on the shores of Tripoli. later Marines would
fight in WWII and would be fighting in planes and these battles would be called dogfights. One pilot
was especially remembered for his squadron and he was Major Gregory Pappy Boyington whose
squadron would account for over 203 planes damaged or destroyed during WWII. Major Boyington
would later receive the Medal of Honor our nation s highest award. Later Marines would be fighting
in Vietnam and would fight in some of the bloodiest battles during the Tet Offensive. Marines would
fight house to house and building to building to clear out the Viet Cong who would literally split the
country in half with their attack during the celebration of Tet in Vietnam. These are just a few of the
stories that would solidify the Marine Corps ability and willingness to fight on land, sea, and in the air
(Eplore the Story, 2011)
Marines are often called another name for what they do, and from the beginning of the Cold War to
now the Marines have come to be known as America s 911 Force (Frakes, 2011). America has several
interests at home and abroad and for this they also set up embassies in foreign countries. The ones
who have the distinct honor of guarding our embassies are none other than United States Marines.
This ensures that in a crisis Americans who are caught up in

Introduction New Classical Macroeconomics arose from the Monetarism and Rational Expectation School in the 1970s and follows the tradition of classical economics. If the market mechanism is allowed to play its role spontaneously, which could solve the unemployment, recession and a series of macroeconomic issues. Keynesian economists believe that changes in the money supply will lead to changes in effective demand that will changes in the total economy. For economic cycle fluctuation, Keynesian economists believe that is a disequilibrium phenomenon. In 1960s, Keynesian economists appealed to the Phillips curve, which means monetary or fiscal policy will lead to lower unemployment rate and cause higher inflation rate as well. However, the new classical rejected the idea, which argued that an expansion of aggregate demand will cause lowered unemployment and economics fluctuation are economics balance under the incomplete information. Critical Review of a Research Article Manchester University MEd Educational Psychology Student Registration Number: 440880 MD699 Research Issues in Psychology Critical Review of a Research Article Pupils who exhibit gifted characteristics along with another disability are referred to as ‘twice exceptional students (Morrison, 2001; Nielsen 2002). This term is used in the article that I have chosen to review, which analyses the responses and perceptions through interview, of one particular individual (Andrew) who was identified as being gifted and talented (G/T) and who had emotional and behavioural disabilities (EBD). What the researchers aimed to accomplish through this analysis was a clearer understanding of Andrew s community and school experiences, as they stated that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this study there was no deficit in the amount of data collected by the questions asked by the researcher, with Andrew providing ‘depth and clarification (p.3) in some replies. The findings that the researchers identified (p.3) form the next part of my critique. The themes which were found through analysis of the data compare to other researchers who find that gifted children in particular suffer from various social vulnerabilities as a result of their special needs (Porter, 1999; Lovecky 1992; Schuler 2003). What strikes me about some of the data is the bias which comes across from Andrew s reflections. He states, They uprooted me and put me in a classroom because of my behaviour instead of trying to deal with the behaviour in the classroom (p.3). The researchers analyse this as being the participant s anger and frustration towards his labelled disabilities. He then goes on to describe, I don t remember a single thing that we did in there that I considered as being educational (p.3). Were these statements an actuality of what he would have stated at the time in question, or were they the result of his ability to reflect from a teacher s perspective? Nevertheless the statements he makes, which are often quite controversial e.g. We did not learn about math or science that I recall (p.3), do seem to be conducive to the type of evidence that the researchers may have required to ... • 4. Globe Theatre Impact William Shakespeare has been known during and after his time as a literary genius. Yet, in addition to his noteworthy plays, he also contributed to his community by increasing the fame of The Globe Theatre. Since his influential role, the Globe Theatre has enchanted and attracted numerous visitors through the course of the years. Yet aside from this attraction, many of these individuals are not aware of the rich history behind this significant structure. However, with the knowledge of the Globe Theatre s humble beginnings, rise to fame, and its role to modern day guests, the appreciation of this architectural beauty readily increases. And armed with this awareness, one manages to grasp the impact of the Globe Theatre on the past and present. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. High School Writing Analysis Throughout my years of being a student I ve written several pieces for several different classes, some I may flaunt just a bit while with other pieces I try to just turn in, get a grade, and then hide in the back of a folder in order to keep others from seeing the slightly subpar work I may have produced. While I always do try to write eloquently there has always been that one assignment in that one class in which I just try my hardest to get a good grade rather than write something I m particularly proud of. For example, last year for AP World History I produced a well formatted, well researched paper on the Guatemalan genocide. I do know that these are not the types of papers that I can just write in order to please a teacher by following an outline to get a good grade, these are papers that require a different type of comprehension as to the topic you re writing. Being able to reflect back onto the papers I ve done in high school, book reports in particular, it s clear as to which mistakes I ve made in my writing. One of the errors that I am probably most guilty of is not writing to a proper audience. The first thing I m usually thinking when writing a paper is will this appeal to my teacher? and is this good enough to score an A? and I don t believe that s a particularly good way to go about writing when in college. Rather than speaking solely to your professors, it s important to be sure a wider array of people can enjoy or relate to what it is you re writing. • 6. Good Vs Evil In Beowulf The constant battle between good and evil rages still rages. Good rests upon a pedestal, surrounded by the amazing holy light from above. It remains in the positive light, often being looked up to and sometimes even applauded. On the other hand, evil fails to maintain the same respect and honor as good. Evil remains surrounded by the darkness. It lingers around every corner, waiting for the next chance to seduce anyones mind and soul at any given moment. It waits for the chance to bring havoc into one s life ,but right as the chance comes, good emerges from the distance, right on time to interfere with the evil scheme. The battle between good and evil never ends and becomes more violent as each day passes. It occurs everywhere and all the time. The constant battle of good versus evil remains proven by the epic poem Beowulf, the poem Good Vs Evil which shows the ongoing battle, and the Holy Bible that shows evidence that this battle of good and evil has always existed. The epic poem Beowulf contains a courageous hero. He embodies the side of good and epitomizes the characteristics of a hero. He runs into multiple perilous battles against gruesome monsters. These monsters include ones such as Grendel, Grendel s Mother, and the fire breathing dragon. The monsters symbolize a life filled with darkness, evil, and sin. The first monster Beowulf comes to slaughter goes by the name of Grendel. He was a [monster] born of cain, murderous creatures banished by God (20 22). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vafai and Vamsi K. Mootha. The objective of this article was to raise awareness of the, at the time, newly developed research regarding Leigh Syndrome, a rare disease that effects mostly newly born and developing babies. The main point of confusion in this paper comes from this passage glucose restriction, an intervention that works in part through the TOR pathway, extends the life span of yeast lacking homologs of genes implicated in Leigh Syndrome. (Vafai et al.) The reason why this causes confusion is because it is not clear as to how glucose restriction increases the longevity of the model yeast cells, and more so as to how this can relate to Leigh s Syndrome in humans. It is understood that yeast cells, predominately, produce ATP through fermentation (Morton et al.); this being said, fermentation is not commonly used in the human body. Therefore it is difficult to understand how this relates to humans, of whom, most commonly use an entirely different pathway for ATP production. To me, it seems as though Vafai et al. mentions glucose and yeast fermentation then jumps straight to applying Rapamycin to the Leigh s Syndrome model ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The First Form Of Education What was the first form of education in China? I have traced the first form of education in China back to the Shang Dynasty (16 1405 BCE). Education was necessary to achieve desired positions in the civil service (the administrative system of the government who ran the daily affairs in China) which were the key to wealth. By establishing an educational system for the young of the elite, the positions in the civil service became a cycle of the designated offspring being the most educated and the educated being the most elite people in China. Most schools were divided into political entities to gain social influence. The main focuses in the education of young Chinaman were the teachings of Confucian. The curriculum was based on the philosophy of Confucianism. Confucianism is a form of Humanism (a devotion of the humanities) with the main focus on educating people in the beliefs, values and practices that govern life within the family and between family and state. The teachings of Confucianism were taught from four books and the five classics. The four books are Chinese classic texts that illustrated the core value and belief systems of Confucianism. The five classics were key text of Confucianism; these were sacred books of traditional Chinese beliefs. • 13. Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Short Story The story of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is integral to the overall narrative of the Israelites descent into Egypt. It also tells us that anyone can make his or her dreams come true. His progression from dream interpreting shepherd to minister of Egypt is one of the most elaborate stories in the Bible, the Book of Genesis. Joseph was born in a family of 12 boys and Joseph was his father s favorite. Jacob wanted to show everyone how much he loved Joseph and decided to give him coat of many colors. The coat of colors was a prestige gift in Canaan, because it was very expensive back then. Joseph had a dream of 11 sheaves of corn that turned and bowed down to a golden sheaf of corn another dream that was about the sun, moon, and sky with eleven stars bowing down before a bright golden star. He knew that someday he was meant for more things to come that are powerful in his life. This was God s way to show him that he will be great someday and be a ruler. With the combination of knowing Joseph is Jacob s favorite son and Joseph s dreams of being one that he may be a ruler of some kind, the 11 brothers become very jealous. One day, they decided that they wanted to kill him, but before they get the chance, they came across a couple of Ishmaelite s on their way to Egypt. They decided to sell Joseph as a slave. • 14. Organizational Justice Impact Employee Job Commitment,... Organizational justice is a concept that represents how fair employees feel they are being treated by their employer. This encompasses distributive justice, perceptions around outcomes such as pay and promotions, and procedural justice, how these outcomes are determined. Why is this important? An organization s culture is defined by it. Organizational justice impacts employee job commitment, satisfaction, and performance. Employees perceptions of fairness will impact how successful a company is in their market. As it sounds, pay transparency reflects on organizations decision to be open about the salary of each employee/position. In his Ted Talk, David Burkus (2016) challenges the traditional practice of secrecy around salaries. For Burkus (2016), pay transparency is the biggest way to combat inequity and pay discrimination. Being open and transparent about how we compensate our team breeds trust amongst all people involved, says Leo Widrich, CMO at Buffer (Baer, 2014). Buffer is a tech company focused on products and services to help organizations maximize their social media campaigns. Buffer publicly disclosed their salary formula and every employee is aware of what everyone makes, all the way up to the CEO. They consider the move to pay transparency as an ethical imperative and competitive advantage, highlighting their growth, profit, and company culture as proof. (Widrich, 2013) Is pay transparency the answer to problems of inequity in the workplace? The results at Buffer seem to point in that direction. However, larger organizations such as Google don t seem to embrace the idea of pay transparency. An informal initiative internally publishing salaries, led by a Google engineer, was less than welcomed resulting in the denial of the engineer s bonuses. • 16. Conflict Theory Conflict theory is the theory that human behavior in social contexts is the result of conflicts between competing groups, as different social groups, be they class , gender or race defined, have unequal power and access to power, yet all groups compete for limited resources. This inevitably gives rise to tension and conflict, albeit often of the subtle variety, as oftentimes the conflicts between groups have been institutionalized in society to such a degree that the conflicts and tensions are such an expected part of society that the conflict, and inequality, itself disappears from public sight, and consciousness. For example, an adherent of a world systems theory of conflict would point to the global competition for resources, particularly the inequality between rich and poor nations struggling to provide the basic necessities of life to their inhabitants, as evidence of global conflict. Conflict theories seek to explain the interactions of groups within society, and assert that social order is preserved involuntarily through the exercise of power one social class holds over another (Lindsey, 2010, 7). The conflict between groups is not always obvious or apparent, so it must be unraveled and examined in order to identify and establish the impact of such conflict on society as a whole, as well as individual members and social groupings. Feminist conflict theory is concerned with the role and status of women in society, particularly within the context of analyzing gender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Traditionally, women in Nigeria marry young, although the average age at which they marry varies between states. A 2007 study revealed that 54 percent of girls from the North West aged between 15 24 were married by age 15, and 81 percent were married by age 1819. The study showed that the younger married girls lacked knowledge on reproductive health, which included HIV/AIDS. They also tend to lack the power and education needed to insist upon the use of a condom during sex. Coupled with the high probability that the husband will be significantly older than the girl and therefore is more likely to have had more sexual partners in the past, young women are more vulnerable to HIV infection within marriage. The poem is set in 1940, Hitler and his Nazi party had taken control of most of Europe and had vowed to exterminate the entire Jewish race. Duffy s haunting use of imagery and word choice make this poem so memorable and its very strong opening prepares the reader for the rest of the poem. Duffy shows how the women are stood firm and even in the most humiliating, de humanised state. • 20. The Real Life Example Of Shared Knowledge And Personal... How do you gain shared knowledge? Let us take a cake for example; the cake is made up of many different ingredients. A recipe may be said to be knowledge because it tells you how to make the cake step by step. Looking at this shared knowledge shapes your personal knowledge and next time you might not need the recipe because the recipe would be part of your own personal knowledge. If shared knowledge is knowledge that has been received from people or sources around you then personal knowledge is knowledge that is gained directly through firsthand experience or observation . Shared knowledge usually shapes personal knowledge. Even when an inexperienced cook has a recipe, they might still not be able to make a good cake. Looking at this example we can see that the shared knowledge being the recipe can shape the personal knowledge of both the cooks and because the experienced cook has more personal knowledge, he is able to come up with a better cake than the inexperienced cook. Let use an example from cooking to illustrate how shared knowledge can shape personal knwledge. Usually one does not simply cook but they learn to cook from other people ... Settled by the Mississippian people, today their decline remains a mystery. First visited in 1811 by traveler Henry Brackenridge and considered the discoverer of Cahokia only in the sense that he wrote several papers and articles about the findings to the public s attention. After walking around the mounds, Brackenridge described that the locations of the last inhabitants were clearly visible to him, as were fragments of their tools and utensils. Many extensive archeological excavations and several case study theories have come about through the years as to why this magnificent ancient metropolis faced such demise. Many theories viable or not have come about through the years about the fall of the Cahokians, climate change, a political falling out, a massive flood or a fire and some erroneous suggestions involving the cosmos. Many of these theories really do not hold a torch to the climate change or societal fall. A massive fire, a disastrous flood, although more evidence of remains would have be revealed to be appropriate. Overcrowding and depletion of resources can hold up to the evidence and reigns true in common sense. I will bring up these factors of cause for the demise, but I will explore and focus mainly on the climate changes in this American Bottom region as the prime factor of the Cahokian ... The paper analyzes the nature of the journey in the Inferno and what Dante needed to learn from it. The changes that were experienced have been analyzed in addition to the important parts of the text that are related to the changes. Moreover, the discussion has been keen to provide relevant illustrations as the case may be in order to emphasize on the character and the changes that are being addressed. Discussion The Inferno within the context of this discussion refers to the first part of Dante Alighieri s poem. This is a chronicle of a journey to God by the leading character in the form of Dante. It is worth noting that the journey has been split into three classical parts, each depicting the changes that are being portrayed throughout the journey of Dante. The first part is the inferno, which is a loose interpretation of hell and with it comes the changes that are being portrayed in the character s story journey. The second part is the purgatorio, which can be interpreted to refer to the purgatory of the story and the changes that occur at this point are characterized by the ever present notion of a sense of undertaking. In this part, Dante is confronted by a series of situations in which he has to reach a mental decision ,while at the same time taking a purge of his internal thoughts. • 25. Summary Of The Tone Of Carrt Sandburg Grass The Sorrowful Tone of Carl Sandburg Grass In the poem, Grass, Robert Sandburg gives a personification to the grass, and gives us a strong message about war. Sandburg mentions several wars and how after many years nature has done a good job on heal its fields after being extremely damaged due to war, but the pain that leaves to us is something that will never go away. On the first line, Sandburg starts his poem by giving us a disturbing image of the aftermath of war. The line Pile the bodies high at Austerlitz and Waterloo tells us how there were many casualties during these two wars. The battle of Austerlitz left more than fifteen thousand casualties not to mention the Battle of Waterloo which left more than twenty five thousand casualties. Although these wars occurred more than two hundred years ago, it is something still remembered in history, and at the time when all the tragedies occurred we can infer that it left many people grieving for the loss of their loved ones. Wars have always been disastrous, tragic events that end physically and emotionally the lives of many people, including adults and children. Going back to the poem, the grass is the narrator of the poem and by reading the first line we can deduce that it, the grass, tells the remaining soldiers, or the people taking care of the dead bodies, to pile them up because having them spread out across the field would probably would take up a lot of space that could be needed for other soldiers or medics. Truth Evident in the Many Beliefs of Al Ghazali and Aquinas At first glance the words Tradition and tradition may appear to be identical concepts. Upon further study, examination, and contemplation, however, these two words differ in their precise definitions. Tradition carries more weight and meaning than the word tradition. Similarly, Truth and truth do not denote the exact same principle. In fact, philosophers and religious scholars have been debating the origins of the latter two doctrines since the Middle Ages. Within Sufism, Al Ghazali defined the difference between Ilham (inspiration) and Ta allum (reasoning or learning). He believes that inspiration and revelation in union with religion hold a superior position than reasoning that originates from philosophy. Rational knowledge, according to Al Ghazali, is always relative to the senses. The knowledge of the senses, however, cannot be trusted as valid. True knowledge, known as the Truth, only comes through inspiration and revelation (McCarthy 378). Al Ghazali introduces the aspect of God, or Allah, in the acquisition of perfect knowledge. Inspiration can bring one closer to Allah than philosophical learning alone (Inglis). Ultimately, this idea of Ilham brings with it the Supreme Reality which is equivalent to Truth (McCarthy 378). In practical terms, Al Ghazali believes that the necessary Truths of the intellect begin from a light which God most high cast into my breast. That light is the key to the greater part of knowledge (Al Ghazali 25). An individual can only experience this light of God if he or she has reached the state. • 30. Reasons Why Guns Should Be Banned Violence is out of control, and guns are a major cause Should Guns Be Banned? introduction. This is a belief many Americans now share. This belief is fueling a nationwide movement that could result in a total prohibition on private gun ownership in the near future. Just imagine if every handgun owner was made to dispose of their gun, how much more peaceful the U. S. or rather the world would be? Ownership of private guns is being banned one step at a time. The recently enacted Brady Bill mandates a national five day waiting period and background check for all handgun purchases (Wollstein par. 1). Maryland has just passed a law that requires a state license for any handgun purchase and limits purchases to one per month. Also, President Clinton banned the importation of most foreign made, semiautomatic rifles (Reynolds 1). On February 28, 1994, Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen announced that several 12 gauge semiautomatic shotguns were being reclassified in the same category as machine guns (Wollstein par. ). The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms simultaneously announced that they would trace the owners of 18,000 of these shotguns and order them to be fingerprinted and to register their guns with the ATF within 30 days or face ten years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine (Wollstein par. 4). On the same day that semiautomatic shotguns were reclassified, Senator Howard Metzenbaum introduced legislation that would require all handgun owners to get a federal license, pass a safety test, and register their weapons with police (Reynolds 3). Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan has proposed legislation that would raise the tax on some ammunition up to 10,000 percent. The price of a single box of Winchester 9 millimeter hollow tipped cartridges would increase to $15,000( ). Would banning guns reduce crime? According to recent polls, most Americans now support gun licensing as a way to reduce crime. Crime has certainly been increasing particularly violent crime. Between 1960 and 1980, robberies nationwide increased by 300 percent. In the same period, both the number of handguns and the national murder rate doubled (Wollstein par. ). • 31. Short Story Endings In Short Stories Closure and Endings found in Short Stories Every story must start somewhere, but not every story has to have a complete ending, or even a clear one. With the development of the short story, the variation between short story endings has gradually increased as time has gone on, like the difference between a final ending in Flannery O Connor s A Good Man is Hard to Find or John Cheever s The Swimmer. However, the endings of some short stories also depend on the style of how the story is written, like Amy Tan s Two Kinds, which is a part of a larger novel, and Kate Chopin s The Blind Man, which is a new branch of short fiction writing called microfiction. The ending also comes about based on the subject matter found in the story. For example, Tan is a second generation Chinese American like her character, June, in Two Kinds. Cheever lived through the Great Depression, and his family went through a similar fall from grace like his character Neddy did in The Swimmer. They say to write what you know, and these authors come to their endings through their own experiences and the type of style that they write in. Flannery O Connor was a writer on rented time. Confined to her house throughout the final days of her illness, critics theorize that she spent a good amount of time thinking about how her life was coming to a close. Andre Bleikasten, author of Beginnings and Endings in Flannery O Connor, believes that the reason why many of her stories end with such a finality ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now, children as well as the teachers get out for some much needed relaxation. So why do we still follow the same schedule? It seems every school year the discussion of year round education captures the attention of the general public. Is it time for year round education (YRE) to be the new norm? Ultimately, there are not that many pros for year round schooling to be the new thing and the traditional 180 day schedule should be kept. Many schools across the America have tried implementing year round education. However, some school districts that tried YRE go back to the 180 day schedule (Sardo Brown, Deborah, and Michael Rooney 1). When year round education is proposed most of the time opposition is met. In 1992, parents of a possible pilot school were surveyed on their thoughts. 59% of the parents responded. There was an overwhelming amount of rejection. Just 10% of those surveyed favored YRE where 83% were against (Sardo Brown, Deborah, and Michael Rooney 1). So why is there such opposition for year round school? The concerns seem to arise with the idea of taking away summer vacation. Most cite that both the students and the teachers need a break from school. • 41. Pandemic Death Monologue Pandemic Death So It started when I was young about nine years of age and it was early in the year 1350. It started a little like this, there was a knock on the door and I got up to go see who it was. When I opened the door there was a man on his horse. The man asked my parents were home, they were, so I said I could go and get them. Once I had gotten my parents the man asked if they are willing to go on a trip through the sea to Kwillining, London. They said they would, so they put in there few overalls and dirty old jeans into a small waggon that are going to have to hall 46 miles to get to the ship. I have two brothers ... A man about twice the height as me then thundered in. The man started rambling on about how everyone is dieing and that the world was going to end. I noticed there were swollen oval shaped things the size of an apple. The man then asked, I ve traveled a long way and i m so tired of seeing dead bodies everywhere I go I was also wondering if I could sit a while here. Just about everyone is dead around here. I told him he could stay a while and I got him some fresh water. The man said he would replace our door and he was very sorry for hacking it down. He got up and was getting ready to leave when he fell to the floor weakly and started coughing up blood. We knew exactly what this meant. He had the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The Room Hall By Ash Essay Hustling through the school hallways, Ash could see the Dining Hall several feet away in his sight. When he was about to reach his destination, a new voice belonging to a young female called out to him. Hey you! He immediately skidded to a halt and glances over his shoulder to the source of the voice, noting that two shady characters were running up to him. The girl who called out to him moments ago had brown skin with dark red eyes and light, mint green hair styled with a straight fringe and bangs, as well as two long locks on each side, in the back. She wears an exotic looking white top, a shallow cut olive undershirt, white pants, and brown chaps that end at her calves, along with an overlong belt. Her partner in crime was a pale skinned, young man with silver gray eyes and gray hair, dressed in a gray and black zip jacket, black pants, along with a single notched belt, and a bandana draped over it. Protecting his arms were sets of rerebraces and vambraces. Um, hi, is there something you two want with me? the black haired teen asked awkwardly, keeping his eyes glued on the duo with narrowed eyes. There was something about them he couldn t trust. You could say that, said the dark tanned girl with a smile. By chance, are you Ash? Y Yes...? So Her friend had a smug expression on his face. you re the one they were talking about. Huh. • 43. First Day Of High School Essay September 6th, the day we return back to school and sit within the walls of York High School. As I walk through the door, I see all the familiar faces whom I have not seen since the day school got out. I walk by the seniors, who are older but not too intimidating, and remember my days as a freshman where I was scared to even walk by an upperclassmen. On the other side of the lunchroom is the freshman. All huddled up and quiet, they are anxious yet scared for their new high school experience. Chatter started in every which way as more and more students entered the cafeteria to gather before the school day officially started. Oh my gosh, hi! I missed you, how was your summer? This was the friendly and half fake phrase many of the girls said to each other as they entered the room. The first bell rang at 7:45 AM, and every student stood up and one big cluster emerged. One by one students entered the quiet classroom, where everyone sat silently trying to make a good first impression on their new teacher. I picked out a seat, in the front, where I know I will be able to see the board, and not get too distracted. The teacher stands up and does the typical first day of school introduction along with the syllabus speech. Although going back to school is horrible, the first day is always the easiest. The first day consists of teacher s standing and talking the whole block, and our only homework is gathering supplies or getting papers signed. I d say that it is a pretty easy first ... • 46. Informational Constraints 1. Chapter eight describes three broader goals of one s audience in addition to those discussed earlier in the textbook. One of these is security. Another is professional growth. As the textbook notes, people want to develop and grow on the job...they want to learn more skills and assume new duties...and they want to work for an organization that is developing and growing (Markel, 2012). 2. Constraints within technical writing are things such as the amount of information that can be gathered for a paper, the required length and format, the due date, etc. (Markel, 2012), that impact the writing process. These often help a writer compose a document however they also can be a hindrance as well. An example of an informational constraint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
