Water Bottle Rocket Experiments
Water Rockets The north studio has been working on rocket science. We were given instruction to
conduct two experiments of our own design. For example, my first one was to test how far a balloon
rocket can go based upon the amount of air inside the balloon. Both times I tested it, the rocket
malfunctioned. My second experiment with a water bottle rocket is about how far a water bottle rocket
can go based upon the number of fins (specifically the difference between 3 and 4 fins) on the rocket
and how that affects the aerodynamics of my rocket. How do water rockets work? My rocket is made
out of two plastic bottles (preferably two liter bottles but it also works with other types of bottles) that
are cut to fit together with the cap duct

Orangutans Research Paper
In the last twenty years orangutans have lost about eighty percent of their homes, and one third of the
orangutans have died during the forest fires according to the Orangutan Conservancy. Everyday the
homes of orangutans are chopped down and destroyed leaving the orangutan homeless. The orangutan
makes its home in palms trees mainly in Indonesia and Malaysia. In an effort to harvest palm oil,
which is used mainly in toiletries and baked goods, we are causing damage to the orangutan s natural
habitat. The process by which we gather palm oil destroys the environment, hurts the orangutans
health, and ultimately puts the orangutan into extinction. When will we stop these horrible actions and

it is grown. Governments have made it illegal to clear new forests. There are new planting methods on
older plantations that can double the amount of palm oil produced. In addition, governments are using
degraded lands found suitable to grow palm trees. These areas are the size of Ohio! Seven African
countries have shown their commitment by pledging to shift to sustainable palm oil production which

Compare And Contrast The Modified Allen Test
Abstract Aim: To compare Allen s Test with modified Allen s Test and its clinical importance
Materials and Methods: Thirty students from Saveetha Dental College, Chennai were selected for this
experiment, people were chosen at random. The Allen s test is a worldwide standardized test used to
determine whether the patency of the radial or ulnar artery is normal. It is performed prior to radial
cannulation or catheterization, as a placement of such a catheter may result in thrombosis. Allen s test
is considered to be normal. The patient is asked to clench both fists tightly for 1 minute at the same
time. Pressure is applied to both radial arteries simultaneously so as to occlude them. The patient then
opens the fingers of both hands rapidly, and the examiner compares the color of both. The initial pallor
should be replaced quickly by rubor. The test may be repeated, this time occluding the ulnar arteries.
In the modified Allen test, one hand is examined at a time, the hand is elevated and the patient is asked
to clench their fist for about 30 seconds. Pressure is applied over the ulnar and the radial arteries so as
to occlude both of them. Still elevated, the hand is then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Did Hand Guns Change Modern Warfare
The invention of the handgun changed modern warfare. The handguns developed dramatically over
the Industrial Revolution. The way they were made has changed a lot since they first started making
them. Handguns were affected by the Industrial Revolution in many ways, they were made in different
ways, more durable, and a lot better accuracy and recoil. (House, Serra The Clayman Institute for
gender search. Own making and the origins of the Industrial Revolution. Web. 11. Feb. 2016.)
The Industrial Revolution, which took place from the18th to 19th centuries, was a time when rural
societies in Europe and America became industrial. This was a huge impact in modern technology and
warfare and it has been more and more advanced as time goes on and it is still being updated. The
industrial revolution has made the country a lot stronger and the factories have gotten a lot more
business since the industrial revolution has taken place. (Kirkland, K.D. America s Premier
Gunmakers. China. Book. 11. Feb. 2016)
There were many handguns that were made before the Industrial Revolution, but the one that stuck out
to me the most was the flintlock pistol. This weapon was a big help in wars that were going on around
the times it was created. The handguns that were first made did not have good sights. The modern

This means after every shot they had to reload. Modern handguns are usually made with six or more
shot reload instead of one because it is a lot more efficient and it makes it a lot easier to do whatever
you are doing. The recoil in the first handgun was very strong. It usually jolted the person using it a
good amount. Modern handguns recoil is not as bad as they were when the gun was first made. The
first handgun weighed from 8 10 compared to the modern ones that weigh 2 4 pounds. (Tong, David,

Epicurus And Epicureanism ( Pghc11181 )

Epicurus and Epicureanism (PGHC11181)
Epicurus on the Gods: Realism or Idealism? Conflict between two interpretative parties.
It is commonly accepted that in antiquity people always believed in gods regardless of their stature.
Taking into consideration the different periods of history, there have been observed cases of
incredulity and skepticism as far as the existence of Gods was concerned. The disbelief over gods and
generally divergences on the traditional way of treating gods developed into atheism, though this
atheism never resolved itself into an extravagant tendency. It was claimed that Epicurus was an atheist
himself since he was accorded the syllogism that Gods were not omnipotent since they are not able to
prevent evil and they are malevolent in case they have the power though they do not want to prevent
it. Going further, he was even accredited with the doubt of the existence of gods. On the contrary,
Epicurus disputed infamous atheists of the classical period and strongly supported that gods existed.
However, Epicurus meaning on the existence of gods was ambiguous. After a long and laborious
research on the way Epicurus and Epicureans conceived the nature of gods, the scholars were divided
into two interpretative groups up to date; the first one was characterized by its realistic approach on
the Epicurean theology while the other examined this complicated theology from a more idealistic
aspect. According to realists, Epicurus gods were

Three Pane Model
A Brief Note on Open Economy ISLM Model (Three Paned Model)
Utility for Business Managers: Firms resort to macroeconomic analysis to make rational judgments
about the effects of global events or policy shocks on the economy and thereby on the business
environment. But such analysis is often laden with possibilities for logical missteps. The Three Pane
model (open economy IS/LM model) is discussed here as a tool for explaining key relationships in the
economy while avoiding the missteps encountered in macroeconomic analysis.
What is open economy macroeconomics?
Macroeconomic analysis helps firms to explore the interrelationships among a whole host of markets,
while microeconomics focuses on variables like price and quantity, amp; cost ... Show more content

Therefore, the net capital outflow decreases, which is shown by the fall in CF from CFo to CF1.
Likewise, if there is a fall in the interest rate from ro to r2, capital outflow increases, and capital
inflow decreases, leading to an increase in net capital outflow as indicated by an increase in CF to
CF2. The Capital Outflow (CF) curve is therefore, downward sloping. This means that, higher
domestic rates of interest are associated with lower net capital outflows, and lower domestic rates of
interest are associated with higher net capital outflows.
As mentioned earlier, the three paned model plots the net export schedule (NX) with respect to the
exchange rate, E. E is defined as the foreign currency per unit of domestic currency. If we drop the
equilibrium amount of capital flows CFo from pane II to the third pane we get the equilibrium amount
of net exports, NXo, which is determined by the intersection of the perpendicular dropped from the
CF schedule with the NX schedule. This also gives the equilibrium nominal exchange rate, Eo. [Here,
we are assuming price levels at home and abroad as constant, therefore, nominal and real exchange
rates can be considered to be proportional. i.e., they won t be different].
How do we explain the model in simple economic terms?
In a closed economy, the rate of interest decided by the RBI defines the simultaneous equilibrium in
the product/goods market and the

Mercury Surface
Mercury
The surface of Mercury is littered with craters. These craters are believed to have been created by
collisions from debris. Mercurys craters range from small circular craters to multi ridged impact basin.
These basin are formed either when there was a large collision followed by a few small collisions or
from many smaller collisions. The largest known crater on Mercury is called the Caloris Basin. This
crater has a diameter of approximately 1500 kilometres across and surprisingly resides in a rather flat
part of Mercurys surface.
However we see that the full surface of Mercury is not cratered and that there is sections of Mercurys
surface that looks untouched we call these sections smooth plains. These plains are not believed to
have been created by volcanic activity on Mercurys surface.
Venus
Venus atmosphere and climate has been studied carefully as it is believed this is what our atmosphere
may come to be in the future. With an atmosphere made up of approximately 96.5% carbon dioxide
and 3.5% nitrogen it has an astonishing atmospheric pressure of about 1352 pounds per square inch
which is approximately 90 times that of Earths.

Disadvantages Of Multimedia
Multimedia has been considered as an effective media for enhancing teaching and learning process.
This new tool, with its various forms, is now common to find in many schools, from elementary to
university. The word of multimedia is a relatively new and can be defined as the combination of
different media (Cutting, 2011: 4) such as text, sound, image and video to convey information. To be
more précised, Marshall (1999) states that multimedia is the field concerned with the computer
controlled integration of text, graphics, drawings, still and moving images (video), animation, audio,
and any other media where every type of information can be represented, stored, transmitted and
processed digitally.
Multimedia may be defined in multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pea (1991: 2 3) states that multimedia functions to help students for several reasons, among them are:
first, it s much better that written text so that student can understand the material well. Second, it
provides the context for the abstract word or explanation such as different emotion on human face.
Third, it may overcome the individual needs and preference so that students can learn the material
accordingly. Therefore, Teoh and Neo (2007: 28) state that multimedia offers an alternative way of
instruction to the current or traditional learning process.
The new function of multimedia has led the programmer to develop new software for teaching and
learning process. Within language learning, such as in the Computer Assisted Language Learning
(Hartoyo, 2012: 45 65), many programs for improving speaking, vocabulary, grammar, and writing
skills are easily found within internet. A lot of resources can be accessed to get these materials; the
most common is the IELTS or TOEFL practices which can be obtained from, for example, British
council website. Furthermore, a more interactive program such as story, animation and games has

The Problem Of A Economic Crisis
The aim of this report is to understand what happened globally in economy for the last 7 years in order
to build an affective and precise managerial strategy for Global Hotel in to generate profitability and
create a successful business.
What is the meaning of crisis and economic recessions?
Business Dictionary is defining crisis as a situation in witch an economy experiences a sudden
downtown brought on by a financial crisis (BusinessDictionary.com, 2014).
The major sign of an economic crisis is the falling of GDP, the drying up of liquidity and rising or
falling of prices generated by inflation or deflation. One form of economic crisis is the recession.
The National Bureau of Economic Research is defining economic recessions as a significant decline in
economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in real
gross domestic product (GDP), real income, employment, industrial production and wholesale retail
sales . More specifically, recession is defined as when businesses cease to expand, the GDP diminishes
for two consecutive quarters, the rate of unemployment rises and housing prices decline. (Morah,
2009)
The reasons of world recession?
The actual economic crisis were starting in 2008 with a financial crisis that had spread though the
USA and became quickly almost global, affecting world economy.
David Kotz, considered that world economy faced not just a severe economic and financial crisis, but
structural, neoliberal

Kitchen Storage Systems Have Evolved Tremendously
Over time, kitchen storage systems have evolved tremendously. While years have passed and
technology has changed, kitchens and household appliances have changed alongside it for the better.
Back then and still in some kitchens today, a cabinet would easily slam shut when it was pushed
closed or a drawer would make a loud bang when it needed to be closed. Even the slightest push on
the cabinet door or drawer handle would create an unintentional slam and disrupt the peace of the
kitchen or area. Everything inside those cabinets or drawers would get shaken up and
discombobulated when it was hit with impact. Things would be misplaced and shifted and not be
organized when that cabinet was slammed. Nowadays, kitchen cabinets and drawers can now be
controlled based on a hydraulic system, where the cabinet is caught by a spring or some sort of lever
to prevent the cabinet from slamming closed. It is an innovative kitchen storage system and can be
beneficial for many reasons. Majority of the time, these types of cabinets or drawers are called soft
close drawers. The drawer system can work the same way as the cabinets, where the drawer is caught
by the spring before closing it back into place, easing the drawer or cabinet door slowly to its closed
position. One of the major factors that can be successful for this new system, is its emphasis on
silence. Without disrupting the equilibrium of a kitchen atmosphere, the new cabinet and drawer
system can factor into that. With

Alice In Quantumland 2014
Alice in Quantumland, speaks about a law of the quantum world, which shows that electrons have no
distinguishing features except for their spin. This law being all electrons are identical, except that
some spin up, whereas others spin down. The electrons even spin at the same speed. This allows them
to interact harmoniously with each other and to find pairs within their space based only on each other
s spins. In the novel, Alice noted that nearby was another similar looking figure to the electron, to
which the new acquaintance explained was a different electron. In the story, this principle is illustrated
by some electron beings carrying umbrellas which are either pointed up, and some electron beings

The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle states that no particle can have well defined clear values for
both position and speed; consequently, no particle can be stationary because any stationary particle
would have a clearly defined speed value of zero. In the analogy presented by Gilmore, electrons are
able to obtain loans of energy from their local bank, allowing them to exist. The energy they are
loaned becomes their rest mass energy. This principle, perhaps, is the most difficult to compare to the
macro world. The idea that there exists a quantity or measurement for lack of a better word that cannot
be measured is difficult to reconcile with the average human mind. Though there exist equal realms of
ambiguity and no definite in the macro world, such as justice and legality, or emotion and rationality
(as provided by Gilmore), the notion of an immeasurable quantity is one many cannot grasp. This
places the Heisenberg uncertainty Principle most at odds with the macro world, as in the real world,
humans go about their existence with definite: For example, the bus will arrive to take a man to work
at 09:05; a day is 24 hours long, America gained its independence in the year 1776, and there are 8
periods in our school day. That is to say, humans take solace in the definite of numbers as a source of
definite when all else is seemingly variable and perhaps even more so when everything

Effects Of Civil Disobedience
For a country to be recognizable as a nation it must consist of population, sovereignty, a governing
body, and a defined territory. In a federal government like the United States, the people exist to run the
government; however, the government exists to ensure that the people are under control and are free
from anarchy. The government also exists to ensure that itself remains under control from becoming
tyrannical. The United States government is a two party system made up of republicans and
democrats. These party members become state legislators, governors, national congressmen and
women, and the president of the United States and his or her cabinet. These are the people who

Many of these demonstrations have been uncivil and have had very negative impacts on the country
by further pushing the wedge of divisiveness between classifications of American people. Most of
these demonstrations are in protest of our newly sworn in Commander in Chief Donald Trump. Many
of these specific protests have turned to riots where the protestors turn violent and harm others with
differing beliefs and break into and loot businesses. That is unethical disobedience which should not
be tolerated. Another protest which was a negative representation of civil disobedience was the
Million Women March which occurred the day following President Trump s inauguration. This march
was exclusive, somewhat violent, and consisted of very limited vocabulary. In Washington, D.C., the
pro life feminist group New Wave Feminists were removed from the march by the people who
claimed to be pro woman. In D.C., there were some people dressed in right wing representing attire
and were physically harmed by the tolerable and pro woman protestors. At many of these marches
across the country and the world, people chanted vulgar words and expletives. Another example of
very unjust disobedience was the demonstration by the students of UC Berkeley just last week.

Anne Bradstreet Influence
Anne was the first poet of America. Her writing style reflected things and events that occurred during
her lifetime. For her, writing poetry was an outlet for stress being that she was a Puritan and they did
not allow women to be educated. Anne Bradstreet s poems directly reflected her emotions and how
she processed the events around her. A lot of her poetry is sad and somber. Being that she is a Puritan
she has a lot of biblical references in her poems. In The Flesh and the Spirit Anne takes these two
objects and personifies them. She created an environment Where the Flesh and the Spirit where two
sisters arguing, Spirit says, Sisters are we, yea, twins we be, yet deadly feud twixt thee and me; for
one father are we not, thou by old Adam wast begot, (223) she tells the sister that their feud has not
been resolved. Flesh took interest with earthly things while Spirit indulged in meditating and trying to
get to heaven. Sprit mentions the old Adam part because the Puritans thought that man lost to sin after
the fall of old Adam but then man was redeemed when Jesus was sacrificed. ... Show more content on

she notes that those were God s possessions and not hers. Though she says this at the end of the poem

she submitted to God, she stills feel sorrow because of her house burning down. Though Bradstreet is

The Dangers Of The Polar Bear
The polar bear ia a large bear that lives in the north. They are the second largest bear in the bear
family, and they ha a unique white fur that differentiates them from the rest of the bears. This white fur
is not only their unique characteristic, but also an amazing tool that God has given them so that they
can survive in the wild. In order to better understand polar bear, pwople must understand their habit,
their characteristics, and the dangers they are facing. First of all it s a question that everyone cares,
what do they eat? Their diet is depend on high fat content in the seal fat, this is one of the few stuff
that can provide them enough calary to maintain their survival and to pass down their specie. The
types of seals that they eat are usually seals. Ringed seals for the females and little ones, and for the
males, they will hunt the bearded seals which are bigger than the ringed seals. In the good times when
they have access to a lot of food, they may only eat the bludder and the skin of the seal because that s
the fattest part. However, when the time is not that good, they will also eat other stuff if they are
avaliable. They will hunt whales if they are trapped, they are also acceptable with small animals and
carcass within their reach. Unlike some bears, they don t have the habit of storging food. After they
finished eating, they will leave the rest of the body for scavengers. Sometimes the scavengers might
be other polar bears that failed their hunt. And it

The Theory Of The World
The concept of the world is significant as one s interaction with the world could be either demanding
or perhaps obstructive (Giles, 1982), as an adolescent s interaction with the world are formed around
loss and defeat (Giles, 1982). This idea of defeat and loss can cause much trauma for the adolescent,
resulting in feelings of worthlessness, rejection and loneliness.
The last fold of the triad is the future . Beck (1967) alludes to the idea that a depressed individual s
thoughts about the future embody those of negative experiences (Giles, 1982). This notion can be seen
in the life of adolescents as they may have encountered a previous event in which they have struggled
with, perhaps in early childhood, now directly impacting their performance in every day life and the
future. The concept of the future can be hard to change or alter as the depressed person may find it
hard to look so far ahead or to work for change and improvement. A sense of future outlooking can put
a direct strain on the adolescent, potentially causing suicidal thoughts due to feelings of hopelessness
and a sense of pessimism (Beck, A. T., Weissman, A., Lester, D., Trexler, L., 1974). There can be
unrealistic perceptions of the future as the individuals may have previously fixated on the past and the
present.
It has only been in recent years that the idea of depression in adolescence has been acknowledged.
Anna Freud is seen as a pioneer in her own right when compared to her father Sigmund

What Is The Theme Of The Lion King Movie

The movie starts with a sunrise of African grasslands. As dawn breaks, all the animals of the Pride

Heroic Perspective
Challenging elements of the heroic and tragic perspective from a cultural and political level raise
tensions in culture and individuals. An artist, for example, will create their entire lives but go through
different stages of expressions that make art in both an heroic and tragic perspective. The artist will
continue to do work for when it s still interesting to them and to others, until not is when they develop
change for new meaning in their lives. They create continuously in various ways because they don t
stop shaping their lives as they different periods depending on how the time element and society
differs around them. Life has no object meaning and individual will get involved in an agonistic way
of meaning. Culture is part of many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following this is the death of Greek tragedy as we see the dionysian be eliminated from the greek
world and the three waves of exhaustion. Relating back to Homer s stylized poems that initially
created the greek world into a tragic culture perspective demonstrated an individual lived in someone
else s world or fantasy. Poems were being incorporated into the society and structured based on these
meanings in a hierarchical authority. Nietzsche found it sad that these poems were used and people
lived in someone else s world instead of their own. For example, in society a hard working person
such a farmer who would do all the manual labor while the aristocrats decided upon the ways how
institutions should be structured was living in someone else s world. The poor worked hard and the
rich stayed rich; which continues today if Nietzsche saw it now. A world of heroes is unstable, who
engaged in agonistic struggle in a moral, political and cultural level. The culture didn t change much
as most us live in someone else s world, not making our own decisions in life. Power isn t available
for some individuals that they could not redefine it or assert it. Consequences leading to an individual
aspect and the elements that lead up to the elimination of the Dionysian from the Greek world.
Nietzsche states, Greek tragedy met her death in a different way from all the older sister arts: she died
tragically by her own hand, after irresolvable conflicts, while the other died happy and peaceful at an
advanced age . Main reason tragedy dies is because metaphysics eliminates the dionysian. Real
implications relating to agon of instability from heroic and tragic culture because they keep getting
caught up between the tension of apollonian and dionysian as it demonstrates irresolvable conflicts.
Exhaustion proved it led to the death of tragedy as truth will exist. Instability

Gender Aspects Of Gender Roles
Gender roles are social and behavioral norms that are considered generally appropriate for a man or a
woman. America, as some describe it, is the land of great and equal opportunities for all, but the fact is
that women are somewhat degraded and reduced to stereotypical gender roles such as being seen as
only house wives instead of working, active women. Gender roles, he strong views of how a man and
a woman are supposed to act, work, and live all still exist in our day to day lives. They are deeply
embedded to most cultures. In some cultures it is so strong that, in certain circumstances, a man could
control a woman s life because of the deep beliefs in the pre modern gender roles. Women are
typically degraded in many places across the world. We see a lot of that in both The Namesake and
The Only Daughter. In The Namesake, Ashima was very lucky. She once thought to herself about how
other the Bengali wives do not have the amount of liberty she has. Ashoke gave Ashima the liberty to
pretty much do what she wanted as long as she fulfilled her role as his Bengali wife. Ashima is
portrayed as a woman who follows and respects Bengali s rules and culture, by taking care of her
children and husband. Even though Ashoke gives her a lot of liberty, she still follows Bengali gender
roles. In Bengali culture, there is a lot of male superiority. The wives have to do everything their
husbands tell them to. In Indian tradition, they have arranged marriages. The woman does not even get
to pick who she wants to boss her around for the rest of her life. Ashoke and Ashima s marriage was
arranged like most Bengali Indian marriages. Ashoke then had to move back to the US to finish his
education and pursue his career. Since Ashima was now a married Bengali woman she had to drop
everything and move to the United States with him. In Calcutta, Ashima was working toward a college
degree. She did not get to finish her degree due to getting married and having to move to the United
States so Ashoke could finish his degree. In The Only Daughter, the daughter was not paid attention
to. Her father only ever paid attention to the brothers. The daughter tried to impress her father to get
his attention. The daughter eventually

Customer Service At Dunmore Home Improvement Essay
Dunmore Home Improvement Philosophy
Customer service here at Dunmore Home Improvements is not just a person sitting at a desk,
answering a phone and directing the caller. We believe customer service needs to be embedded in all
aspects of our company principles and seen as an opportunity to gain achieving tactical economical
advantage.
So what does this mean? From the first phone call to our last interaction with the customer we want
them to feel as this has been the best experience possible. It begins with our face of the company. That
could be a greeter at the front door, or our team member answering a phone call. At that initial point of
contact it is our goal to invite the customer in to a friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating
atmosphere. Secondly, we want all internal customers to assist our external customers with any help or
guidance they need without making them feel as if they have inconvenienced us. Listening to our
customers will help improve the customer experience and lead to quicker solutions. Finally, we want
our customers to not only come back, but to promote our business through word of mouth. That is
where we will gain our economic advantage. It s 5 times harder to get a new client than it is to get
repeat business from an existing client (Sivers). We need to utilize all aspects of customer service to
not only retain the customers we do have but also to create an experience that invites new customers
to our store.
Internally, we want to motivate

Mental Illnesses And Mental Health
Mental illnesses lead to more disability than any other chronic illnesses and contribute significantly to
the burden of diseases worldwide; moreover, the number of patients with mental illnesses and co
occurring physical illnesses are on the rise (SAMHSA, 2012; WHO, 2011). To meet this challenge,
more psychiatric nurses with appropriate mental health training are needed, especially in the United
States and China. Psychiatric mental health nurses work with individuals and families to assess their
mental health needs, diagnose mental disorders, and offer a range of treatment plans and services. The

State of Mental Health Nursing in United States and China
In the United States, mental disorders are common, often serious, yet treatable disorders that have a
major impact on the United States population. Mental disorders are prevalent among one in four
Americans and are second only to cardiovascular diseases as the leading disease burden in the United
States (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2006). According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration (SAMHSA), in 2009 almost 20% of the United States adult population
experienced acute mental illnesses (AMI) (excluding substance use disorders) in the previous year;
and 4.8% of adults had serious mental illnesses (SMI), which equates to approximately 11 million
adults annually (SAMHSA, 2012). Serving the mental health needs is a growing challenge worldwide.

Renewable Energy Sources Of Energy
The worldwide demand of energy has been increasing considerably. Up to 2030, it is supposed to be
60% higher than today (B. SCHMITZ, 2013). Currently, non renewable energy sources, like coal and
oil, are more commonly used, since they are cheaper than renewable energies. In the European Union,
80% of the energy consumption demands are covered by fossil sources (B. SCHMITZ, 2013). But,
non renewable energy sources are running out and they are also very harmful for the environment,
since they generate greenhouse gases. So, it is very important to discover more renewable ways to
generate energy.
For a very long time, the only energy source that mankind had was the human muscle. After that they
discovered the fire and the animal domestication providing them a source of heat and help from horses
to plough their fields. The only other accessible sources of energy that they could explore were wind
and water. Sails were used on ships allowing people to move across water, windmills and water
wheels were used to grind grains and pump water. At the end the 18th century Europeans discovered
the power of non renewable energy sources and started to use fossil fuels, first coal then oil and
natural gas. With these new energy sources, a lot of new technologies were invented over the years
until in 1700 and 1800 when the industrial revolution occurred. These new technologies based in
fossil fuels allowed an exponential increase in the population and living standards. But, this increase

The Causes Of The American Revolution And The English...
The English Revolution from 1640 to 1660 Although the English Revolution began in 1640, there was
discontent and conflict during the Stuart dynasty which lasted between 1603 and 1640. Between 1603
and 1625 King James I ruled England. He was unsuccessful in unifying Scotland and England, there
was steep religious division between the Church of England, which was Anglo Catholic , and the
Protestant Nonconformists, political division between the crown and parliament consistently
disagreeing over the constitution, fiscal policy, taxation, religious policy, and foreign policy, and
England s beginning colonization of North America and the Caribbean. In 1625, King James I dies
and King Charles succeeds him. King Charles begins his reign with lack of money, religious
disagreement and a European war, the Thirty Years War which King James I attempted to keep out of.
From 1629 to 1640, King Charles I tries to rule without parliament and raises revenue outside of
Parliament through his prerogative powers. This revenue was mainly through customs taxation,
granting monopolies, and ship money. This not only irritated parliament, but also many of his subjects.
Parliament and the landed elite that it represents see his actions as the exercise of arbitrary power , a
power which threatens their personal liberties and private property. He adopted a non Calvinist,
ritualistic form of Protestantism that seemed to have similarities to Catholicism. This infuriated radical
reformers, such

The Contribution Of Victoria Claflin Woodhull
Victoria Claflin Woodhull was born on September 23rd, 1838 in Homer, Ohio. She was an extremely
talented and gifted individual who received little to no education throughout her lifetime. She did not
attend school until much later, when she was about eight or nine years old. Nevertheless, Victoria
knew at a very young age that it was her destiny to accomplish great things. She was typically admired
by women because of her courageous acts of individualism. She was fearless and was not afraid to
stand up for what she believed in which was shocking at the time, because women s issues were not
taken into consideration. She was truly a remarkable and a powerful figure during the 19th century in
the United States. She is notably recognized for being the first woman in history to run for president in
the United States in 1872, as well as the first woman to ever address Congress regarding women s
suffrage in 1871. She was a passionate feminist, an advocate for equal education for women, civil
rights, she supported women s right to vote, and believed that women should have the right to be in
control of their own lives and have the freedom to make their own decisions. She also believed in the
concept of free love , which gave women the freedom to marry, divorce, and have children if they so
pleased without the government, or anyone else for that matter, controlling them or telling them what
to do in their situation. Victoria had vowed to become a leader in the fight

The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe Analysis
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe have many themes of religion. Most of those themes are related
to Christianity. The most important themes are that Turkish delight is like sin, the Queen of Narnia is
the Devil, and Aslan died to save Edmund from that sin just like Jesus did for us.
Turkish delight
Turkish delight is a lot like sin in the real world. The witch gave Edmund the Turkish delight and once
he had a taste he was addicted and when he was done he was left wanting more. Edmund was so
addicted that he betrayed His own family just to get more Turkish delight. This directly reflects sin. In
the book is says:
that this is enchanted Turkish Delight and that anyone who had once tasted it would want more and
more of it, and would even, if they were allowed, go on eating it until they killed themselves. (Lewis,
1950)
This is found in real life in real life when people will do anything to get more and more and they will
neglect what is important in life; they may even kill themselves.
The Queen is the Devil
The Queen of Narnia has many links to the Devil of the Christian faith. The Queen is the ruler of
Narnia and has tried to block out Aslan. Comparatively the Bible says: The god of this world has
blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is
the image of God, should shine on them. (Corinthians 4:4 MEV)
The Queen and the Devil both tempt and manipulate people. The Queen says It is dull, Son of Adam,
to drink without eating, what would you like to drink? (Lewis, 1950) to get Edmund to eat her food
which is cursed. In addition The queen and the Devil both disguise themselves to appear better on the
outside, but on the inside they are bad. (Wagner, 2017) Edmund betrayed his own family so he
belongs to the Queen and needed to be killed at the stone table for the crime which is the exact same
thing that happens when one betrays God one then belongs to the Devil and deserves to die. The
evidence is clear that the Queen of Narnia is a representation of the Devil
Aslan died like Jesus
Edmund betrays his family and Narnia and deserves to die, but Aslan takes his place. Jesus did the
same, but he died to save the whole world not just one person. Both

Terrorism Is A Threat Of Terrorism
Well known peace activist Mhatma Gandhi once preached, Terrorism and deception are weapons not
of the strong, but of the weak. Ghandi dedicated his life to independence for each and every person on
Earth. We live in a world where countries biggest fear is the threat of terrorism. To many, terrorism
may only seem to be stories in the history books, but in reality in today s world terrorism is a
heightened menace. Terrorism, when defined by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, means any
activities that involve of violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law,
appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, to influence the policy of a
government by intimidation or coercion, or to effect the conduct of a government by mass destruction,
assassination, or kidnapping (Federal Bureau of Investigation). While some attacks are far more
infamous than others, there have been countless terror attacks on the United States of America alone.
Not to mention surrounding countries, territories, etc. all over the world. Terrorism rears its ugly head
in all different sizes and I believe all measures should be taken to stop this despicable act. Throughout
research, I ve discovered many factors relevant to the history, current, and future threat of terrorism,
along with the different perspective groups of the functionalists, conflict theorists, and symbolic
interactionists.

Saying Goodbye To A Teacher
Saying goodbye to a my choir teacher They say people never know how important something is, until
it s gone. When I said goodbye to my choir teacher, it opened my eyes to how influential she was.
Jami Lercher pursued the job of my choir teacher freshman and sophomore year at Roseville Area
High School. She played a significant role in my life as my mentor and a great friend. She also invited
me to join her outside of school choir, VOX and we grew even closer through that experience.
Everywhere she went, merriment and exhilaration followed her. She assisted me with the ability to
read notes and read music. Unfortunately, the jubilance of the choir department would come to a halt.
Mrs. Lercher received the opportunity of a lifetime and was accepted into the university of Miami
Florida to pursue her doctorate degree. She would depart from RAHS, taking that merriment and
exhilaration with her to Miami that she had constructed for the choir department. The choir students
were grieving, but we supported her decision and knew that this would aid her immensely when she
would come back to teach. The night I said goodbye to Mrs. Lercher was a night of waterworks,
compliments and the hardships of expressing our goodbyes.
That night my choir, Bel Canto, just finished our final concert of the year, making the waterworks
pump double of what they should. The crowd roared when we finished our final song called Sail Away

Susan Cain s Introvert
Introversion is a common characteristic among many people today. It is the tendency to favor a quiet,
peaceful environment. Introversion, though, as Susan Cain claims, is being perceived as an irregular
lifestyle. Susan Cain is a self described introvert and a notable author of the book Quiet: The Power of
Introverts in a World That Can t Stop Talking. She believes society sees extroversion as the more
admirable trait when compared to introversion, even though introverts are just as good, she says, in
influencing and bringing change. In her speech, The Power of Introverts, Cain asserts that the
educational systems command a bias against the introverted lifestyle, pushing people in an
uncomfortable setting that prevents them from maximizing their creativity and critical thinking. The
2012 speech was given at one of the TED Talks conferences, an organization that promotes the spread

Health Care Reform For The United States
Many ways are used to measure how much Americans values life. Obviously, good health is a major
factor of being happy and satisfied with an Americans life. People also place family and friends very
high on the list of value for health care insurance. Health care has become the stress to every person s
life. Health care controls everything a person does due to the drawbacks of not having it when it is
necessary; like breaking an arm or coming down with a deathly illness. With these issues, it is said
that reforms are on their way. Health care reform will be on the agenda for future sessions of
Congress, because the economic pressures of rising health care costs on the federal government,
business, and individuals are not going to abate (King). Health care has become a pain for many
reasons. It takes up time, money, and security. Having health care in the United States is a necessity;
without this many hospitals do not admit a patient or, if done so, the patient becomes flooded with
bills for everything. But just because health care is a necessity in the United States does not mean it
comes easily. With so much that goes into health care, loads of information and research must be

information about human rights in regards of health care, what other forms of health care are out there,

Introduction Potential hydrogen, what is it? These two words may appear as taboo for some people but
when you abbreviate it, it comes out to be better known as pH. Potential Hydrogen (pH) is the
measure of any solutions hydrogen ion concentration. The range for pH is generally from zero to
fourteen, with seven being neutral. If you measure any solution, if it is lower than the neutral amount
of seven than that would be considered as it being more acidic and having less oxygen in its fluid but
if it is higher than seven on the pH reading it will be considered as being oxygen rich and contains
more of the alkaline product. Everything above seven is alkaline were as everything less than seven is
acidic. As human we have to maintain our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Body I will consume various drinks over a day time span. After each drink I will then wait for about
10 15 seconds for the drinks to be in my system completely, and then I will take a single pH testing
strip that I will get at my local pharmacy and place a sample of my saliva into a spoon and dip the
testing strip into it. The strip should immediately change colors or stay the same depending on the pH
balance. I will then retrieve the color indicator from the testing strip box to see what my current pH is
and record my discoveries. If the color meter indicates that my saliva is over the neutral mark of 7.0 I
am opt to indulged less in the consumption of alcoholic beverages, caffeine, coffee (decaffeinated and
caffeinated), and soft drinks. This doesn t mean cut them completely out of my diet but reduce them
slowly out of my diet, over time. After I see my pH reading I can then have a mind to increase the
consumption of clean, filtered water and milk, preferably goat s milk. Also I can then determine if my
own saliva is acidic, neutral or alkaline (base). In advance to doing the actual pH test of consuming
the drinks I intend on doing a before test so I can compare the differences in results if I there is any.
Over the period of my experiment it will probably take up not much time because I want to give my
saliva a chance to absorb the drink solution yet still be testable when I use my pH testing strips. I am
going to test out three different

The For Terminally Ill Cancer Patients
Sarah Broom was a mother diagnosed with lung cancer and given a life expectancy of a couple of
months. Darshak Sanghavi, a doctor who communicated with Broom throughout the last couple of
years of her life shares how access to experimental drugs first through a clinical trial and then through
compassionate access gave her four more years with her children after standard treatment failed.
Stories like Broom s raise the question of whether cancer patients should be able to use drugs that
have not finished testing. According to the Food and Drug Administration s website use of an
experimental drug outside of clinical trials is called expanded (or compassionate access) and is
possible if a company agrees to provide the drug, a doctor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was diagnosed with skin cancer and his tumors were not responding to his current treatment. There
was a new drug in testing that held promise to control the cancer, but although the drug s clinical
testing process had been quickened by the FDA because it showed promise as a breakthrough therapy ,
Auden was not given access to it and he died. His anguish over his lack of time is evident when he
said, Why can t [Merck] supply me now [with the drug] rather than missing me by a couple of
months? Similar appeals for immediacy are at the heart of the argument for access. Terminally ill
patients argue that the disease in their body is developing faster than the drugs to fight the disease and
that they do not have the time to wait until the drug is released or has passed another phase of the trial.
Patient also feel that only allowing drugs to be used for clinical trials to encourage greater
participation in testing is unfair. Being a part of a drug trial is not easy for patients. Chahal points out
that tests are often conducted in major cities, requiring many patients to spend significant amounts of
time away from their hometown (368). Leaving home requires extra expenses for travel, lodging, and
food and extra emotional strain from being away from family and friends. However, many deem these
hardships as necessary for the moment in exchange for the

Effects Of The Enlightenment
Due to the rapid pace at which the world changes, it may be surprising to learn that Enlightenment
ideas that originated centuries ago are still present in modern society. Despite their age, Enlightenment
ideas regarding how the government should function are still in use in various places, such as the
United States government. The past effects of these ideas are also still visible in the present, as their
appearance supported and helped trigger revolutions in places such as France and the American
colonies. At the time of their conception, these ideas proposed a different kind of government than
existed in most any country, and were considered by some to be too liberal, while others advocated in
favor of them due to the various ways they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Up to this point in time, it was not uncommon for monarchs and rulers to infringe upon these rights in
favor of their own satisfaction; monarchs forced taxes upon their subjects in order to fund their own
projects and lifestyles, and some were known to oppress their people in an attempt to maintain power
for an indefinite amount of time. Under this Enlightenment idea, the government was tasked with
preventing these occurrences from taking place, therefore protecting these basic rights and, by
extension, the people s quality of life.
One Enlightenment idea that is visible in more countries than most actually came about due to a
misunderstanding: Baron de Montesquieu incorrectly assessed the responsibilities of the various
components of the British government, thus leading him to the conclusion that the powers of the
government should be separated between multiple branches, though Montesquieu proposed three. In
doing so, the government, as well as rulers and monarchs, would be unable to abuse their power due to
the system of checks and balances that would be created by the separation, consequently solving
problems various people had with their rulers abuses of power. This is arguably one of the more
popular Enlightenment ideas, as differing versions of it have been implemented in countries across

The Benefits Of Athletes In College Sports
Division three athletics may not be what most power hungry athletes strive to play in, however, for
those that seek a rich academic career while playing collegiate sports, division three may be the place
to achieve that. Division three athletes have the opportunity to focus more on academics while not
being pressured by athletics, such as having more time throughout the week to study and more
leniency when it comes to completing homework. Furthermore, athletes have the chance to interact
more often with the rest of the student body as well as enjoy a life outside of sports. To continue, this
experience may not be accomplished if improper standards are met. Wesleyan College has issues
funding athletics, along with identity/participation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike other institutions in the conference, Wesleyan only provides five sports and obviously they are
women sports. Other institutions have either the same amount or more of women s sports plus men s
sports.
Wesleyan isn t going to become co ed just to receive more funding for sports, however, since
Wesleyan is an all women s college, it is possible that it can contact organizations that focus on
women s active lifestyles such as the Women s Sports Foundation and the Global Women s Project. In
return for their support, Wesleyan athletes can volunteer with the organizations to promote the
statement each one represents. This will allow for more funding as well as provide exposure for
Wesleyan student athletes. Another possibility is to promote athletics more around the surrounding
community and have partnerships from local family owned facilities, restaurants, and etc. This will
allow Wesleyan student athletes to interact with people from the community as well as create bonds,
which in return will help out game attendance. Teaming up with local sports teams can also help, for
example if Wesleyan was able to have a night at the Macon Coliseum, where the Macon Mayhem
play, a Southern Professional Hockey League team and a portion of the proceeds went towards
athletics, it would help athletics tremendously. In addition to funding, Wesleyan struggles with helping
athletes find their identity as well as participation.

For example, my first one was to test how far a balloon rocket can go based upon the amount of air inside the balloon. Both times I tested it, the rocket malfunctioned. My second experiment with a water bottle rocket is about how far a water bottle rocket can go based upon the number of fins (specifically the difference between 3 and 4 fins) on the rocket and how that affects the aerodynamics of my rocket. How do water rockets work? My rocket is made out of two plastic bottles (preferably two liter bottles but it also works with other types of bottles) that are cut to fit together with the cap duct ... Compare And Contrast The Modified Allen Test Abstract Aim: To compare Allen s Test with modified Allen s Test and its clinical importance Materials and Methods: Thirty students from Saveetha Dental College, Chennai were selected for this experiment, people were chosen at random. The Allen s test is a worldwide standardized test used to determine whether the patency of the radial or ulnar artery is normal. It is performed prior to radial cannulation or catheterization, as a placement of such a catheter may result in thrombosis. Allen s test is considered to be normal. The patient is asked to clench both fists tightly for 1 minute at the same time. Pressure is applied to both radial arteries simultaneously so as to occlude them. The patient then opens the fingers of both hands rapidly, and the examiner compares the color of both. The initial pallor should be replaced quickly by rubor. The test may be repeated, this time occluding the ulnar arteries. In the modified Allen test, one hand is examined at a time, the hand is elevated and the patient is asked to clench their fist for about 30 seconds. Pressure is applied over the ulnar and the radial arteries so as to occlude both of them. Still elevated, the hand is then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Modified Allen s test. The way they were made has changed a lot since they first started making them. Handguns were affected by the Industrial Revolution in many ways, they were made in different ways, more durable, and a lot better accuracy and recoil. (House, Serra The Clayman Institute for gender search. Own making and the origins of the Industrial Revolution. Web. 11. Feb. 2016.) The Industrial Revolution, which took place from the18th to 19th centuries, was a time when rural societies in Europe and America became industrial. This was a huge impact in modern technology and warfare and it has been more and more advanced as time goes on and it is still being updated. The industrial revolution has made the country a lot stronger and the factories have gotten a lot more business since the industrial revolution has taken place. (Kirkland, K.D. America s Premier Gunmakers. China. Book. 11. Feb. 2016) There were many handguns that were made before the Industrial Revolution, but the one that stuck out to me the most was the flintlock pistol. • 6. Epicurus And Epicureanism ( Pghc11181 ) B099785 Epicurus and Epicureanism (PGHC11181) Epicurus on the Gods: Realism or Idealism? Conflict between two interpretative parties. It is commonly accepted that in antiquity people always believed in gods regardless of their stature. Taking into consideration the different periods of history, there have been observed cases of incredulity and skepticism as far as the existence of Gods was concerned. The disbelief over gods and generally divergences on the traditional way of treating gods developed into atheism, though this atheism never resolved itself into an extravagant tendency. It was claimed that Epicurus was an atheist himself since he was accorded the syllogism that Gods were not omnipotent since they are not able to prevent evil and they are malevolent in case they have the power though they do not want to prevent it. Going further, he was even accredited with the doubt of the existence of gods. On the contrary, Epicurus disputed infamous atheists of the classical period and strongly supported that gods existed. However, Epicurus meaning on the existence of gods was ambiguous. After a long and laborious research on the way Epicurus and Epicureans conceived the nature of gods, the scholars were divided into two interpretative groups up to date; the first one was characterized by its realistic approach on the Epicurean theology while the other examined this complicated theology from a more idealistic aspect. Three Pane Model A Brief Note on Open Economy ISLM Model (Three Paned Model) Utility for Business Managers: Firms resort to macroeconomic analysis to make rational judgments about the effects of global events or policy shocks on the economy and thereby on the business environment. But such analysis is often laden with possibilities for logical missteps. The Three Pane model (open economy IS/LM model) is discussed here as a tool for explaining key relationships in the economy while avoiding the missteps encountered in macroeconomic analysis. What is open economy macroeconomics? Macroeconomic analysis helps firms to explore the interrelationships among a whole host of markets, while microeconomics focuses on variables like price and quantity, amp; cost ... Likewise, if there is a fall in the interest rate from ro to r2, capital outflow increases, and capital inflow decreases, leading to an increase in net capital outflow as indicated by an increase in CF to CF2. The Capital Outflow (CF) curve is therefore, downward sloping. This means that, higher domestic rates of interest are associated with lower net capital outflows, and lower domestic rates of interest are associated with higher net capital outflows. As mentioned earlier, the three paned model plots the net export schedule (NX) with respect to the exchange rate, E. E is defined as the foreign currency per unit of domestic currency. If we drop the equilibrium amount of capital flows CFo from pane II to the third pane we get the equilibrium amount of net exports, NXo, which is determined by the intersection of the perpendicular dropped from the CF schedule with the NX schedule. This also gives the equilibrium nominal exchange rate, Eo. [Here, we are assuming price levels at home and abroad as constant, therefore, nominal and real exchange rates can be considered to be proportional. i.e., they won t be different]. Mercurys craters range from small circular craters to multi ridged impact basin. These basin are formed either when there was a large collision followed by a few small collisions or from many smaller collisions. The largest known crater on Mercury is called the Caloris Basin. This crater has a diameter of approximately 1500 kilometres across and surprisingly resides in a rather flat part of Mercurys surface. However we see that the full surface of Mercury is not cratered and that there is sections of Mercurys surface that looks untouched we call these sections smooth plains. • 12. Kitchen Storage Systems Have Evolved Tremendously Over time, kitchen storage systems have evolved tremendously. While years have passed and technology has changed, kitchens and household appliances have changed alongside it for the better. Back then and still in some kitchens today, a cabinet would easily slam shut when it was pushed closed or a drawer would make a loud bang when it needed to be closed. Even the slightest push on the cabinet door or drawer handle would create an unintentional slam and disrupt the peace of the kitchen or area. Everything inside those cabinets or drawers would get shaken up and discombobulated when it was hit with impact. Things would be misplaced and shifted and not be organized when that cabinet was slammed. Nowadays, kitchen cabinets and drawers can now be controlled based on a hydraulic system, where the cabinet is caught by a spring or some sort of lever to prevent the cabinet from slamming closed. It is an innovative kitchen storage system and can be beneficial for many reasons. Majority of the time, these types of cabinets or drawers are called soft close drawers. The drawer system can work the same way as the cabinets, where the drawer is caught by the spring before closing it back into place, easing the drawer or cabinet door slowly to its closed position. One of the major factors that can be successful for this new system, is its emphasis on silence. Without disrupting the equilibrium of a kitchen atmosphere, the new cabinet and drawer system can factor into that. With ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This law being all electrons are identical, except that some spin up, whereas others spin down. The electrons even spin at the same speed. This allows them to interact harmoniously with each other and to find pairs within their space based only on each other s spins. In the novel, Alice noted that nearby was another similar looking figure to the electron, to which the new acquaintance explained was a different electron. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle states that no particle can have well defined clear values for both position and speed; consequently, no particle can be stationary because any stationary particle would have a clearly defined speed value of zero. In the analogy presented by Gilmore, electrons are able to obtain loans of energy from their local bank, allowing them to exist. The energy they are loaned becomes their rest mass energy. This principle, perhaps, is the most difficult to compare to the macro world. The idea that there exists a quantity or measurement for lack of a better word that cannot be measured is difficult to reconcile with the average human mind. Though there exist equal realms of ambiguity and no definite in the macro world, such as justice and legality, or emotion and rationality (as provided by Gilmore), the notion of an immeasurable quantity is one many cannot grasp. This places the Heisenberg uncertainty Principle most at odds with the macro world, as in the real world, humans go about their existence with definite: For example, the bus will arrive to take a man to work at 09:05; a day is 24 hours long, America gained its independence in the year 1776, and there are 8 periods in our school day. That is to say, humans take solace in the definite of numbers as a source of definite when all else is seemingly variable and perhaps even more so when everything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For her, writing poetry was an outlet for stress being that she was a Puritan and they did not allow women to be educated. Anne Bradstreet s poems directly reflected her emotions and how she processed the events around her. A lot of her poetry is sad and somber. Being that she is a Puritan she has a lot of biblical references in her poems. In The Flesh and the Spirit Anne takes these two objects and personifies them. The Theory Of The World The concept of the world is significant as one s interaction with the world could be either demanding or perhaps obstructive (Giles, 1982), as an adolescent s interaction with the world are formed around loss and defeat (Giles, 1982). This idea of defeat and loss can cause much trauma for the adolescent, resulting in feelings of worthlessness, rejection and loneliness. The last fold of the triad is the future . Beck (1967) alludes to the idea that a depressed individual s thoughts about the future embody those of negative experiences (Giles, 1982). This notion can be seen in the life of adolescents as they may have encountered a previous event in which they have struggled with, perhaps in early childhood, now directly impacting their performance in every day life and the future. The concept of the future can be hard to change or alter as the depressed person may find it hard to look so far ahead or to work for change and improvement. A sense of future outlooking can put a direct strain on the adolescent, potentially causing suicidal thoughts due to feelings of hopelessness and a sense of pessimism (Beck, A. T., Weissman, A., Lester, D., Trexler, L., 1974). There can be unrealistic perceptions of the future as the individuals may have previously fixated on the past and the present. America, as some describe it, is the land of great and equal opportunities for all, but the fact is that women are somewhat degraded and reduced to stereotypical gender roles such as being seen as only house wives instead of working, active women. Gender roles, he strong views of how a man and a woman are supposed to act, work, and live all still exist in our day to day lives. They are deeply embedded to most cultures. In some cultures it is so strong that, in certain circumstances, a man could control a woman s life because of the deep beliefs in the pre modern gender roles. Women are typically degraded in many places across the world. We see a lot of that in both The Namesake and The Only Daughter. In The Namesake, Ashima was very lucky. She once thought to herself about how other the Bengali wives do not have the amount of liberty she has. Ashoke gave Ashima the liberty to pretty much do what she wanted as long as she fulfilled her role as his Bengali wife. Ashima is portrayed as a woman who follows and respects Bengali s rules and culture, by taking care of her children and husband. Even though Ashoke gives her a lot of liberty, she still follows Bengali gender roles. In Bengali culture, there is a lot of male superiority. The wives have to do everything their husbands tell them to. In Indian tradition, they have arranged marriages. The woman does not even get to pick who she wants to boss her around for the rest of her life. Ashoke and Ashima s marriage was arranged like most Bengali Indian marriages. Ashoke then had to move back to the US to finish his education and pursue his career. Since Ashima was now a married Bengali woman she had to drop everything and move to the United States with him. In Calcutta, Ashima was working toward a college degree. She did not get to finish her degree due to getting married and having to move to the United States so Ashoke could finish his degree. Currently, non renewable energy sources, like coal and oil, are more commonly used, since they are cheaper than renewable energies. In the European Union, 80% of the energy consumption demands are covered by fossil sources (B. SCHMITZ, 2013). But, non renewable energy sources are running out and they are also very harmful for the environment, since they generate greenhouse gases. So, it is very important to discover more renewable ways to generate energy. For a very long time, the only energy source that mankind had was the human muscle. • 31. The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe Analysis The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe have many themes of religion. Most of those themes are related to Christianity. The most important themes are that Turkish delight is like sin, the Queen of Narnia is the Devil, and Aslan died to save Edmund from that sin just like Jesus did for us. Turkish delight Turkish delight is a lot like sin in the real world. The witch gave Edmund the Turkish delight and once he had a taste he was addicted and when he was done he was left wanting more. Edmund was so addicted that he betrayed His own family just to get more Turkish delight. This directly reflects sin. In the book is says: that this is enchanted Turkish Delight and that anyone who had once tasted it would want more and more of it, and would even, if they were allowed, go on eating it until they killed themselves. (Lewis, 1950) This is found in real life in real life when people will do anything to get more and more and they will neglect what is important in life; they may even kill themselves. The Queen is the Devil The Queen of Narnia has many links to the Devil of the Christian faith. The Queen is the ruler of Narnia and has tried to block out Aslan. Comparatively the Bible says: The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (Corinthians 4:4 MEV) The Queen and the Devil both tempt and manipulate people. The Queen says It is dull, Son of Adam, to drink without eating, what would you like to drink? (Lewis, 1950) to get Edmund to eat her food which is cursed. In addition The queen and the Devil both disguise themselves to appear better on the outside, but on the inside they are bad. (Wagner, 2017) Edmund betrayed his own family so he belongs to the Queen and needed to be killed at the stone table for the crime which is the exact same thing that happens when one betrays God one then belongs to the Devil and deserves to die. The evidence is clear that the Queen of Narnia is a representation of the Devil Aslan died like Jesus Edmund betrays his family and Narnia and deserves to die, but Aslan takes his place. Jesus did the same, but he died to save the whole world not just one person. Both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I said goodbye to my choir teacher, it opened my eyes to how influential she was. Jami Lercher pursued the job of my choir teacher freshman and sophomore year at Roseville Area High School. She played a significant role in my life as my mentor and a great friend. She also invited me to join her outside of school choir, VOX and we grew even closer through that experience. Everywhere she went, merriment and exhilaration followed her. She assisted me with the ability to read notes and read music. Unfortunately, the jubilance of the choir department would come to a halt. Mrs. Lercher received the opportunity of a lifetime and was accepted into the university of Miami Florida to pursue her doctorate degree. She would depart from RAHS, taking that merriment and exhilaration with her to Miami that she had constructed for the choir department. The choir students were grieving, but we supported her decision and knew that this would aid her immensely when she would come back to teach. The night I said goodbye to Mrs. Lercher was a night of waterworks, compliments and the hardships of expressing our goodbyes.
