2. The Industrial Revolution s Influence on European Society
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries the Industrial Revolution in Europe had a
significant influence on society. There were many changes in social classes and equality. The rise of
the middle class had a momentous effect on the population of Europe and was a catalyst for many
changes in the social makeup of the region. The influence of technology and electricity changed many
aspects of social interaction and created a new class system. The migration of workers and the
separation of the classes had political and social repercussions throughout Europe. Labor unions and
political parties provided protection and a voice to many of the working class, and urbanization
provided the stage for reformers to push for modernized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another by product of the migration and urbanization was the changing role of women. As the women
left the rural areas where they had been the maternal leader of their families, they sought employment
in the new factories. Despite the new working women they remained second class citizens throughout
Europe. Regardless of their social class or setting, women remained marginalized in society. In the
nineteenth century, women faced social and legal disabilities in three areas: property rights, family
law, and education (727). As workers and unions sought a voice for the masses, women, too, were
seeking equality.
As women sought equality, the nations of Europe gradually turned to democracy and an electoral
system. With the democratic philosophy, political parties were being introduced for the first time.
Political parties were organized to help educate the new voters because many of the working class
were not educated on the process. As the political parties grew, the working class became the largest
sect of voters. The political parties also provided a spring board for the socialist party. The ideas of
socialism were rooted in the vision of equality for the working class. The utopian view of all classes
sharing across the European continent by the socialists was not shared by many of the nationalist.
European socialists badly underestimated the emotional drawing power of nationalism (738). The

Fear, one of the most powerful emotions experienced by many and has served generations after
generations of people, but while serving became an overwhelming universal symbol of disdain, a
feeling born from self preservation, where its designated function has diminished it into a subversive
role of the human condition. Where its horrifying purpose to protect has in some cases become a
burden of irrationality that can be showed in a simple word known as a phobia. A phobia is the caustic
effects of fear and attempting to treat it is going to be the goal of today where techniques will be
showed how to counteract the ill consequences of an out of control emotion.

unsatisfactory results are still met, symptoms will continue to be medicated, and an alternative
treatment plan will be made. If the methods used above are done just as mentioned, it should bring
adequate treatment to the subject, and if it doesn t, it will at least manage some of the symptoms that
are being faced. While not everything can be cured this method will provide an adequate chance to
reform the subject and bring about a favorable change in the individual, that will allow them to lead a
healthier life without worrying about their phobia and allow a world where the last thing they have to

better basketball player than him. Some basketball fans might agree and some might disagree, but at
the end of the day everyone will have their own opinion of who is better than whom. Lebron James

shots, but has only 262 career blocks, while Jordan had a 100 block just within a season. People can
go back and forth with the stats, Lebron is better than Michael in certain areas but at the end, Jordan
will overall have a better record than Lebron. Jordan and James have accomplished many things as an
individual and they both took their teams to the next level. They both won the NBA rookie of the year

It begins with Joshua and the rest of the Israelites are commanded to leave Lebanon. God tells them it
is time for them to take Canaan from the Hittites. God says that if they follow the commands of Moses
they will be successful in all their endeavors. They head over to Canaan and set up camp. Joshua
sends two spies into Jericho, a city in Canaan, to find out the weaknesses and the best way to attack.
While there, someone spots them and gets word to the King that there are Israelite spies in Jericho that
have come back to take Canaan. The spies go into the house of Rahab, the prostitute, whose house is
built into the city wall. Rahab hides them on her roof when the guards come to look for the spies. She
tells them she knows they are there to take Canaan and asks that her and her family are spared when
they come to defeat the Hittites. She says that she knows the land rightfully belongs to the Israelites
and they will kill everyone. The spies grant her and her family protection. The spies return to the
Israelite camp and report all that happened. Joshua is instructed by the Lord to have all the Israelites
walk around the walls of Jericho for seven days silently and on the seventh day, yell and blow
trumpets. They carry out the Lord s instructions and the walls of Jericho collapse. The Israelites
overtake the Hittites of Jericho and Rahab and her family stay with the Israelites for the rest of her
life. The King of Canaan hears about the fall of Jericho and sends his armies to defeat the Israelites
and take back Jericho. The Lord tells Joshua that despite the fact that the King s army is larger, God
will allow them to defeat the Hittites. The people are not afraid and win the battle. Many years later,
Joshua is dying and begins to make sure everything will run smoothly after his death. Joshua warns

7. Classroom Management Is Essential For Effective Teaching...
Introduction
Classroom management is essential to effective teaching because this is what makes a classroom flow
forward in the direction of academic success and a great school year. The text states that classroom
management is comprised of the necessary processes to create and maintain a positive environment
that is conducive to teaching and learning (Newman, 2013). Classroom management plays an
important role in the setup of a classroom. Classroom management should begin on the very first day
of school. It is how efficiently a teacher can have schedules, structure, and procedures, well
maintained in the classroom. When the teacher demonstrates what the expectations are on day one and
continues to practice these routines and procedures, it sets the tone of the classroom from day one, and
is what is expected the entire year. A teacher uses classroom management to create and maintain a
learning environment. Discipline of students in a classroom has little to do with the learning
environment and overall management of the classroom. The learning environment will be functional
when there are positive expectations of the students. In a well managed classroom students are
involved with their work as the teacher facilitates instruction (N. A., n. d.). This increases student
achievement and there is little time for confusion and disruptive behavior. Harry Wong states that
students know what is expected of them and are generally successful (Wong, 1998). Expectations

My Summer Road Trip The late June Texas sun was hot as it came through the window of my Caliber.
I had begun my road trip to the lake house in Mineola early that morning. I had dressed for comfort,
wearing my blue shorts and my favorite worn out tee, I knew it was going to be a long hot drive. As I
drove down the road, I soon realized that I had never been anywhere alone before. This was a new
feeling to me, one of strength and fear rolled into one.
While fighting the traffic to get out of town, I was thinking back on the conversation Mother and I had
had the night before. But what if you have to stop, what if you have a flat tire? mother s voice was full

White clouds of dust kicked up behind my car as I drove down the tiny one lane road. I could see the
house in the distance with the shimmering blue water just behind. I pulled into the driveway and just
stared out the car window at the view. The lush green grass flowed down to the water s edge, dotted
only by a few oak trees that gave perfect shade along the way. I felt as if I could literally melt into the
scenery. I had not noticed that the neighbor s dog, Maggie, had come to the car until I heard her soft
whine to get my attention. She was sitting next to the car wagging her tail as I opened the car door,
excited to have my company.
I unpacked the car and carried the few bags I had brought with me into the house. It was dark and cool
inside despite the summer s heat. I opened the blinds and was again mesmerized by the beautiful view.
I knew in that moment my coming here alone was just what I needed to heal from the stressful events
I had just been through. I did not even bother to unpack, but instead I kicked off my shoes and
immediately went with Maggie for a walk by the lake.
We walked down the soft dirt path that leads to my special sitting rock , which juts out over the water.
I could feel the cool dirt as it dusted over my bare feet and smelled the oak leaves as I walked under

10. Negative Benefits Of Technology
In today s society, technology is looked at in usually two different ways. It can be looked down upon
or highly praised by many. Back then authors predicted and wrote about some technological
advancements that are either portrayed as a helpful or detrimental. Two prime examples of this are
There Will Come Soft Rains and Fahrenheit 451 , both pieces of literature written by Ray Bradbury.
Technology is usually praised by the masses due to the countless medical advancements, its positive
effect on the education around the world, and its assistance with certain tasks. However, some people
might think otherwise. On the technological advancements in the medical viewpoint, there are many,
benefits to society. The most obvious one is the curing or the treatment of diseases. Vaccines are one
of the greatest advancements to mankind. Visiting your Doctor is an advancement of itself, but
vaccines are very helpful to our society. Some diseases that were life threatening in the past are no
longer an issue. Furthermore, some diseases basically faded out of existence. Other technological
advancements are the machinery that hospitals use on their patients. For example, a linear accelerator
is used to perform radiotherapy on patients that have some sort of cancer. Speaking about medical
machinery, in the book Fahrenheit 451 Montag s wife Mildred overdosed on pills and was suicidal. As
a result of this, the ambulance appeared to help Mildred with her problems. Mildred got her

According to Erikson, this is when the elderly start to be proud of their accomplishments, but are also
faced with disparity of the goals they never reached (Berger, 2011). Noah is proud to be telling Allie
about their past and wants her to remember it because he is taking so much pride in it. Even though
Noah wants Allie to remember their past, he is dealing with the disparity that his wife may not ever
remember him. An example from the movie is when Allie remembers who Noah is for just a few
moments, and he is so glad and has thought she is back forever, but Allie immediately goes back into
not knowing who Noah is (Cassavetes, 2004). Noah is immediately sad and despised that his wife will

Allie is trying to remember what her life was like. Unfortunately, Allie comprehends the story Noah is

There is multiple ways to determine the age of fossils. Two well known techniques are relative dating
and radioactive dating. Even though they are similar, they both come at the situation a different way.
They are both different and they have their own techniques. Relative dating uses the location within
the rocks layers. Radioactive dating uses information that they gather from the decay of radioactive
substances within an object. What s the difference in relative and radioactive dating? All though, both
of these techniques are used for the same thing, they are very different from each other. They both use

They were able to learn about dinosaurs and how old they were and when they were discovered by
radioactive dating. Radioactive dating allows scientist to record things in the past. In order to do this,
they have to use the ratios of isotopes to determine the age of the rocks and fossils. Some chemicals
that they use in radioactive dating are Carbon, uranium and potassium. Each one of these elements are
made up of atoms. In each atom, there is a nucleus. Inside of that, we find a neutron, and when they
become unstable, they let go of energy. When they let go of this energy, it is called radioactivity. It
occurs when the nucleus has an excessive amount of neutrons. The variation of neutrons are called
isotopes. Isotopes are a form of an element that are unstable. When going through radioactivity, the
unstable isotopes break down and form a new element. The isotopes are never destroyed but they turn
into something else. As far as the accuracy goes, people are proven to believe that this is a very
accurate method. They say this because radioactive dating is based on radioactive decay of unstable

Along with the demands of the field, to become successful in the business of real estate, it is essential
that I have certain skills. Skills I would need as a real estate agent are communication/interpersonal
skills, networking, and self motivation. In the real estate business, you have to be able to sell yourself,
in order to sell property. Agents have to make clients believe in them, believe that everything they re
saying is true, smart, and that the client is making the best decision by choosing you as a realtor. As a
real estate agent, according to state law, you must work with a broker, so this is where being
communication comes in handy. Another skill that is a major plus to have, is networking. As everyone
says, it s not what you know, it s who you know. So it s smart that you network in this business,
because the more people you know, the more potential clients there could be, and the more sales could
be made. Generally, communication, interpersonal, and networking skills will take you a long way, as
well as self motivation. It is known that in the real estate industry there could be more down days than
ups, due to dramatic, unexpected fluctuations in the economy, it makes sales more difficult for agents,
so if you have self motivation, it could bring something positive to the business, and gives you drive

My conformed profile is ENTJ, stands for Extravert, Intuitive, thinking, and judging. This means that
in business and school I am very open to the external world, I like receiving information from internal
and imaginative world, I am very logic so all the decisions I make are based on logical facts and
reasons, and I like organizing, planning, and ordering everything before starting doing something. In
other words, as an ENTJ, I do like to plan and organize, and I do not need the support of anyone to
build up my plan and perform it. I am really determined to achieve my plan once I have created it. I

One of my friends is often boring about reading and spending time taking notes in class. She has a
penchant for adventures and she always thinksthat learning while being in the heart of experience is
better than staying behind a book, just read and listing to the tone of your voice and then nothing else
happens. She expresses great feelings when she is at ease of doing something. It is like she plunges

personality.

I faced some difficult situations, and I am going to recall two of them. I had a friend, he was

20. Examples Of Conflict In Father And Son
The clash between ideas of one generation and the ideas of the next creates conflicts between parents
and children. In this case, between fathers and sons. For example in Ivan Turgenev s novel Father and
Sons (1862), the central conflict is depicted through the motif of generational differences, which are
revealed through the portrayal of each character and his or her relationship to others.
In Father and Sons, Turgenev reveals this conflict between the traditionalists Pavel in contrast to the
modernist, Bazarov. This conflict is raised because of each characters generation and belief. For
example Pavel is from an older generation who follows an old traditional Russian ideology. However,
Bazarov rejects the old traditional Russian ideologies and concentrate on the modern thinking of
Nihilism. Because of the two very different ideologies and beliefs, it is inevitable that there will be a
sense of tension and hatred building between the two characters which will eventually lead to climax
when one of the characters goes overboard, which is shown during the duel of Bazarov and Pavel.

Morality vs. The rule of Law The article When Mercy Collides with The Law is a very interesting
piece, on a man living in a Chicago suburb who opened his basement to the homeless on cold nights.
The city came in and stopped him, on the grounds that he violated municipal regulations . Greg
Schiller, 53, had set up a shelter for the homeless during the recent cold spells, allowing them to stay
the night when it dropped below negative 15. He provided cots and hot food and drink for them. The
city of Elgin shut him down because his basement didn t meet certain safety requirements. The side I

Video games in today s society have become very popular. Every new game that comes out to be
played and conquered by the average gamer has its own category. There are several other types of
genres of games that people play but because of big hit titles and the new popular game systems like
the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, people become more interested in a game that is well known than a
game they have never even heard of before. Every game has its own storyline and own way of how it
unfolds and where the game ends according to game play. Some of the biggest reasons people sway to
certain genres of games is because of the game titles released under them and the demand of people
who want a good game under that category. The top three most ... Show more content on

Unlike action/adventure games, people don t have to run to a particular spot in the game to get that
special item they wanted, instead, they just simply unlock it when he or she has accomplished the
necessary requirements to get the item.
Action/Adventure categories of games are very unique. These types of games generally feature long
term obstacles that must be overcome using a tool or object that is acquired at the beginning of the
game. These types of games are generally a more item gathering, simple puzzle solving, and combat
game. Games such as Assassins Creed and Ratchet and Clank are perfect examples of this category of
games. Assassins Creed is a bit more puzzle solving and more stealth like than Ratchet and Clank
whereas Ratchet and Clank is more of an action pack filled game with more item gathering and small
obstacles along the way encountering combat in every turn that is made. Another famous
action/adventure game would be Super Mario. The perfect storyline of saving a princess and while
looking for her one would encounter different but strong enemies in each level he or she would go in;
along the way he or she would also benefit from picking up certain items and having to complete
certain obstacles to obtain that item that does later on become very handy when used it at the right
time. Role playing games play similar to action/adventure games but has a much more difficult way of
how the game is completed.

CLIMATE CHANGE SHOULD BE A POLITICAL AND NOT A SCIENTIFIC PROBLEM
Introduction
Global warming has become one of the most important scientific, political and economic issues.
According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the period between 1995 and
2006 seems to have been one of the warmest yet recorded since 1850 relevant variables such as
changes in ocean temperatures, changes in terrestrial ecosystems, the decrease in the extent of snow
and ice in the northern hemisphere, the shortening of the cold seasons, melting glaciers, reduction in
the extent of permafrost and rising sea level, provide clear evidence of that the world is warming
(Miller, 2013). Delay and limit climate change requires long term, large international effort. The most
important is the current via the United Nations Convention on Climate Change has given, but it is also
important to take preventive measures at national level (Gonzales, 2013). Industrialized countries have
made some progress, albeit limited, in curbing GHG emissions (greenhouse gasses) recognizing the
urgent need to develop specific policies, such as the use of emissions permits, taxes energy and
environmental, industrial voluntary measures, regulatory

However, there is still contention over its existence, prevalence, and severity; this is evidenced by
recent articles and court cases contesting its relevance [3,7] . It is problematic that almost every
mention of this phenomenon goes back to a single study in 1995 that failed to put the issue to rest [6].
Forensically, this research has multiple implications. The presence and level of alcohol in a victim or
perpetrator s system has great bearing on their behavior and frame of mind. As a result, the amount of
alcohol in a person s blood can serve as a strong piece of evidence. From a sentencing standpoint, the
level of legal consequences assigned to an individual is also be dependent on the amount of
intoxication detected [1]. With these consequences in mind, it is imperative that the test used to
measure ethanol levels is reliable and accurate. If there is a possibility that the enzymatic assays used
widely throughout hospitals can be inaccurate under certain conditions, it is necessary that the users
and interpreters of those assays know that interference can occur and when it might happen. If markers
can be developed to determine when further testing for ethanol should be done, the reliability of the
test will be greatly increased. In this study, the aim will be to determine if lactate and LDH in
clinically possible antemortem concentrations can cause a significant

The progressive era during the 1890 s and 1920 s in the Unites States saw an economic expansion
with the aid of the industrial capitalists, a growing population with immigrants coming to the United
States seeking a better life through labor with American industrialization, and government corruption
being eliminated progressively by political reforms like the Sherman Antitrust Act. This era also had
complications such as racial tension between immigrants, poor working and living conditions amongst
the American public, society division based on different characteristics such as ethnicity and average
working revenue. As the works of Howard Zinn, Thomas C. Leonard, and David Montgomery specify
the endeavor America as a society underwent during the Progressive Era. Through the economic
expansion during the Progressive Era companies wanted to keep costs down while maintaining profits
high with low wages, poor working conditions, and long hours at the expense of immigrants. The
underrepresented individuals faced with these problematic issues consisted of blacks, whites, Chinese,
Europeans, and female labors. Wages in America during the Progressive Era had been based on race,
sex, and social class. Mary Stovall author of the article The Chicago Defender further expands on the
issue of class favoritism by elaborating in his work how blacks were charged higher rents than whites
for comparable housing . These problematic matters often caused a heated argument and in some

The history of the United States is full of unsolved mysteries. One of the greatest mysteries which
occurred in 1953 was the electrocution of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg under the Espionage Act. They
were convicted for giving the secret information about the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union. The anti
communist sentiment that characterized the Cold War and McCarthyism led to their trial and

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. (Moss,220 222)
On July 17, 1950 Julius Rosenberg was arrested for spying and giving secrets about the atomic bomb
to Russia. On August 11,1950 his wife Ethel Rosenberg was arrested on the charge of aiding her
husband in spy activities.(Moss, 225) On Friday, June 19, 1953 Ethel and Julius were electrocuted in
New York State s Sing Sing Prison. Their sons, Michael who was ten and Robert who was six were
sent to foster homes and later were adopted by Anne and Abel Meeropol in 1957.(Moss, 224) How did
the FBI find out that the Rosenbergs were spying and how did the investigation begin?
The investigation began when the FBI found a name, Klaus Fuchs, written in a notebook of a Russian
spy. Dr. Fuchs had worked on Manhattan Project (the secret name for the project which worked on the
development of the atomic bomb) from 1943 to 1946. When Dr. Fuchs was arrested, he confessed that
he was giving the information about the bomb to the Soviet Union. However, Fuchs was not the only

the same rhetorical patterning and reasoning to show how these arguments are not productive, because
all they are doing throughout these passages are attacking the other side through pointing out their
wrongdoings. In both passages, there is a question of illegitimacy and skepticism brought into light.
The [environmental] wackos have a broad and mostly hidden agenda that always comes from the left

Franz Liszt was a virtuoso pianist, composer and conductor. He contributed greatly to the harmonic
expressiveness of the 19th century. He was a leader in the art of the symphonic poem, and using

Also around this time he met Frederic Chopin, who used a poetic style in his compositions. They

each section stays in place so your curl look equally wavy from top to bottom.

method!
Step 3. Grab a piece of tinfoil and wrap each loop of hair in it. Don t use too much or too little
aluminum foil for those purposes your hair should be fully covered, but you don t need many layers of
foil on top of your loop.
Step 4. Using a flat iron, scrunch the foil 3 4 times. Be careful, the foil will be very hot for the next
few seconds so either use heat protective gloves or make sure you arrange your foils in a way that
those do not touch your face.
PRO TIP: While you can put tinfoil all over your hair and then warm up each of the foil cocoons I
recommend heating your foils one by one. That way, you ll allow each piece stay warm for a longer
period of time (read: your curls will last longer!).
Step 5. Take out the foils one by one. Spritz with some hair spray and you are all set!

On first and second glance, it may appear impossible to draw any concrete connection between the
philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard, a seventeenth century Danish Philosopher who worked heavily on
existential themes, faith, and Christianity, and the Soviet Union. On one hand, Kierkegaard himself
lived his life almost solely in Denmark, rarely leaving his own hometown, so his experience of the
World outside of Denmark was extremely limited and focused on his world, especially the world of
the Danish National Church. On the other hand, the Soviet Union embraced Communism, and with it

In order to attempt this sort of analysis, there are a number of factors that must be addressed first, with
the most crucial being the understanding of Kierkegaard, his relevant works, and his Philosophy.
Søren Aabye Kierkegaard was born in 1813 in Copenhagen to Ane Sørensdatter Lund Kierkegaard
and Michael Pedersen Kierkegaard, the latter a pastor of the Danish National Church. According to
Daniel Conway, a professor of Philosophy and the Humanities at Texas A M, although influential
today for his diverse contributions to the fields of philosophy, theology, rhetoric, literary theory, and
depth philosophy, Kierkegaard was widely known in his own day as a provocative social critic
(Conway 2015, 1). He was highly critical of the church in his hometown, and the Danish National
Church in general, in addition to Christianity and what it meant for one to have faith in the almighty.
Thus, much of Kierkegaard s work deals with faith and Christianity to some extent, as seen with Fear
and Trembling, the work that will be most heavily sourced within this thesis. Kierkegaard s Fear and
Trembling was written and published in 1843 under the pseudonym Johannes de Silentio. Kierkegaard
often wrote and published his works under different pseudonyms, each often having some sort of
significance to the work in which it is situated. The significance of the pseudonym of Fear and
Trembling, according to the author of

case, he is stuck in an imperfect relationship with his wife Ruth, and he cannot divorce her because
they have a twelve year old son to care for and a baby on the way. This faulty relationship is best
shown in the first scene when Walter casually says to his wife, But you wouldn t do nothing to help,
would you? You couldn t be on my side that long for nothing, could you? (Hansberry 32) This
morning conversation between the two is an average, typical talk, which shows that the relationship is
certainly in decline. Even during the middle of the play, when they go to the movies and hold hands,
this love does not even last until the end of the play. Walter s relationship with his wife brings a
feeling of sympathy upon him because he cannot avoid it and that he is past the ideal age for finding a

40. Gap Between Literary Gothic and Pornography
As a society, we are confronted daily with pornographic images, they feature in our newspapers, on
our film screens, and even in our novels. This voyeuristic obsession the media holds has for a long
time been desensitizing us to depictions of violence and sex, but has it also disabled us in being able to
see the difference between what is carefully constructed satire and what is merely pornography? There
is probably no text this discussion embraces more in modern gothic literature than that of Brett Easton
Ellis American Psycho. The novel was surrounded with controversy, ecen before its publication in
1991. Originally, cited to be published by Simon Schuster, the company forfeited from the
engagement, including its £300,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sexual control of women by men is a major system within pornography, but it is not achieved
through the same extreme level of violence used by Bateman, in my locker in the locker room at
Xclusive lie three vaginas I recently sliced out of various women I ve attacked in the past week. Under
his psychopathic control body parts cease to contain any sign of female sexuality or personal identity
and instead they become trophies of his violent sexual encounters. The image of the disembodied
vagina acts to cause an extreme level of shock and horror within the reader, and it is not an image that
stands alone within the book. These highly disturbing scenes of sexual violence against women
surpass that of pornography, this does not account the novel as being a particularly horrifying piece of
pornography, but instead it sets the novel from pornography completely.
In order to understand this, we must consider that not all of society receives pornography in such a
negative matter as so far discussed, for many people pornography is a private matter that is for the
purpose of arousal. Therefore in order for the gap between American Psycho and pornography to be
truly irrelevant, the text would have needed to be produced for the purpose of arousal. Although there
are some scenes that explicitly serve as seeming only pornographic, the level of the violence coupled
with sexual acts that progresses in

42. Reflection of Prague State Opera’s Performance of Verdi’s...
Prague State Opera s March 12th performance of Verdi s Rigoletto was one of great power and
emotion. Though the opera was sung in Italian and subtitles were only available in Czech, the
language barrier did not hinder enjoyment of the performance in any way. Throughout the entire
opera, the emotions were portrayed brilliantly and could be felt by the audience. The opera begins
with a short prelude that continues as a main theme throughout the entire opera. In contrast to the
rather solemn prelude, Act 1 begins with upbeat dance music. The Duke begins flirting with Countess
Ceprano with the first song Questa o quella. The strophic form and simple tune portray the
shallowness of the Duke. The song reflects the Duke s idea that all women are the same and his lack
of moral character. Count Monterone then enters the scene very distraught because his daughter was
seduced by the Duke. He begins singing Voi congiuraste which has a lurching, jumpy quality about it.
He then curses both the Duke and Rigoletto. As Rigoletto walks home, he is approached by
Sparafucile, an assassin, who offers his services. Rigoletto then begins an aria reflecting on his current
situation and his similarity to the assassin. The string and woodwinds help to convey the solemn mood
and we begin the to see the depth beyond Rigoletto s facade. When Rigoletto enters his home he is
greeted by his daughter Gilda. Afraid that the courtiers will discover her, Rigoletto then tells his
daughter not to go outside
