Breast Health Care at Magee Women International
Intro
As an intern with Magee Womancare International (MWI), the international humanitarian outreach
arm of Magee Womens Hospital, my primary goal was to provide breast health education to
underserved African Americans and Latino women throughout the Pittsburgh area, to navigate and
support these women through the breast health continuum of care, and to facilitate clinical and
mammography screenings through the Breast Health Equity and Circulos de Amigas programs. As a
male intern, my role in this program was to engage local and predominantly male led grassroots
organizations and religious groups in breast health education to promote healthy families and
ultimately healthy and safe communities. I was also required to assist my fellow undergraduate intern
Maddie with her work in the programing and execution of the South Asia Youth Summit (aka SAYS)
program. In addition I was expected to assist my Suporvisiors with grant writing and miscellaneous
task regarding running our several ongoing current grant initiatives. By the end of my internship at
Magee Womencare International I developed a much more fundamental and in depth understanding of
MWI s history, goals and objectives, the concrete steps involved in successful grant writing and the
concrete steps involved in successful event planning among a plethora of other things. ...

Analysis Of The Killer Angels By Shaara
War is a complex event. Many different aspect go into the complicated planning of a war from amount
of troops or supplies, layout of land and more. The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara gives a
unquestionable vivid image of the Battle of Gettysburg. In this novel it took place in the span of three
days and gives us the points of views from both the Union and Confederate armies. Mr. Shaara s
historical accuracy is spot on from the innermost thoughts of the characters to the geographical
location and weather descriptions to allow the readers to get a taste of the novel s to the real life
events. Passages like It rained all that night. The next day was Saturday, the Fourth of July. ( ) really

The book was historically accurate in all perspectives. This is shown from the location, characters and
the thoughts of them. One thing that was a big part of the entire battle was loyalty. In many parts of
the book loyalty is shown from the generals and commanders. For example even though Longstreet
did not agree with the decisions of Lee he still stayed loyal to his commander and they army by going
in with the plan. Shaara captured the essence of the battle that I ve never seen before. Honor without
intelligence is a disaster. Honor could lose the war. (p.133). The one thing I really admire about the
way the book was written in such of way that you can change the perspective of the North and South
to see how each is reacting to the events going on at the same

The third strategy, focus is when a firm chooses a narrow segment within its industry and tailors its
offerings (strategy) to that segment (Porter, 1980). Focus strategies involve achieving cost leadership
or differentiation within niche markets in ways that are not available to more broadly focused players.
Finally, Porter labels firms that follow each generic strategy, but do not achieve any of them as stuck
in the middle . Porter asserted that the three strategies were distinct mutually exclusive alternatives.
He argued that firms may be able to successfully pursue more than one of these strategies
simultaneously, but this is rarely possible. (Porter, 1980: 35). A firm which failed to follow one of the
strategies was stuck in the middle, which guaranteed the firm low profitability. This objective of this
paper is to thoroughly explain the three generic competitive strategies as presented by porter. The
paper further analyses the competitive strategy of apple Inc and the application of porter s generic
competitive strategy before drawing vital conclusions on the subject. 2.0 Porter s three Generic
Competitive Strategies Generic strategies were used initially in the early 1980s, and seem to be even
more popular today. They outline the three main strategic options open to organization that wish to

Butler Way Research Paper
The Butler Way demands commitment, denies selfishness, accepts reality, yet seeks improvement
everyday while putting the team above self ( Butler ). The preceding quote is the motto for the entire
Butler University Athletics department. Every team, player, and faculty member must adhere to it if

Horace s Adversity
Horace states, Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would
have lain dormant, meaning that differences in a person s life, meaning misfortunes as a whole, has the
ability to change a person s personality and character. This can go two separate ways though, it can
make them into a better person, or a worse person. But the overall idea that Horace stated is easy to
agree with.
Some people will use a negative part of their life, and do their best to make it into a way to benefit
their life. For example, a youtube sensation has gone viral for a vlog he made when he went to Japan
and made a joke about a body he discovered in the Suicide Forest. He gained so many followers and

speak now is filled with crores of smart things, collecting rich amount of data. This paper is a general
survey of all the security issues existing in the Internet of Things (IoT) along with an analysis of the
privacy issues that an end user may face as a consequence of the spread of IoT. The survey is mostly
focused on the security loopholes arising out of the information exchange technologies used in
Internet of Things. Countermeasures are discussed for only some of these security drawbacks in this
paper. Keywords: Internet of Things; Security; Privacy. 1. INTRODUCTION IoT technology mainly
focusses on applications that are aimed at improving quality life of people while saving costs for
companies and public authorities. We live in real world and some of activities we perform here cannot
be fully implemented with the help of services provided by virtual approaches. It is the limitation of
such approaches that confines the development of Internet to offer better services. To overcome such
restrictions, a new technology has come into limelight which integrates the features of virtual world

Figurative Language In Macbeth
Marjorie Garber immediately evokes her insight of Shakespeare s work Macbeth in the book
Shakespeare After All. The first couple of paragraphs interprets the meaning of the witches dramatic
role in this creative work. In addition, fate was symbolized in a human and nonhuman form a
persuasive psychological reality of their own , according to Gaber. She also strongly suggests that
equivocation is the running theme throughout the play. Garber s idea that Shakespeare s had the ability
to bring forth ambiguity while connecting the plot emulating real events during Queen Elizabeth and
King James I reign in the 17th Century through figurative language. The play s quality has the ability
to be opened to more interpretations as well by displaying a political trend of the 21st Century. ...

I can argue that Starnes disagreement displays the open interpretation of his Trump s rhetoric, in
addition to the mistrustful undertone from the opposing political party. Macbeth s valiancy, and
trustfulness would have had no basis of argument in Duncan s sensible conclusions just as Todd

ABSTRACT
Web is a collection of inter related files on one or more web servers while web mining means
extracting valuable information from web databases. Web mining is one of the data mining domains
where data mining techniques are used for extracting information from the web servers. The web data
includes web pages, web links, objects on the web and web logs. Web mining is used to understand
the customer behaviour, evaluate a particular website based on the information which is stored in web

1. INTRODUCTION Web mining is the application of data mining technique which is an unstructured
or semi structured data and it automatically discovers and extracts potentially useful and previously
unknown information or knowledge from the web. The significant web mining applications are
website design, web search, search engines, information retrieval, network management, E commerce,
business and artificial intelligence, web market places and web communities. Online business breaks
the barrier of time and space as compared to the physical office business. Big companies around the
world are realizing that e commerce is not just buying and selling over Internet, rather it improves the
efficiency to compete with other giants in the market. This application includes the temporal issues for
the users. []
Web mining has three classifications namely, web content mining, web structure mining and web
usage mining. Each classification is having its own algorithms and tools. Web content mining is
nothing but the discovery of valuable information from web documents and these web documents may
contain text, image, hyperlinks, metadata and structured records. It is used to look at the information
by search engine or web spiders i.e. Google, Yahoo. It is the process of retrieving the useful
information from the web content or web documents. Web structure mining is also a process of

others deer hunting may seem like nothing but a slaughter that hunters take part in for free meat and
somehow find an enjoyment in the process, however these individuals do not realize that hunting is in

Fish and Wildlife). This makes deer hunting crucial for environmental conservation and protection.
While deer hunting may benefit the environment by providing environmental agencies with funding
for their programs it also serves as effective and carefully controlled means to cull and maintain deer
populations. What some may not realize is that deer can have a very negative effect on the
environment when they become over populated. Deer overpopulation has heavy consequences for
environment and species that dwell within the affected area. According to Sharon Levy s A Plague of
Deer the entire Eastern US has been over browsed for many decades by Deer due to an uncontrolled
deer population resulting in a decline of plant diversity within the area (718) and this decline in plant
life along with the high deer population has had negative effects on the population and diversity of
many creatures within these forests as well. These include insects, mice, and canopy dwelling birds
(Levy, 719), but the negative effects aren t just limited to that of other species. Deer

The Role Of Active And Passive Portfolio Strategies And...
Discuss the general features, differences, advantages and disadvantages of active and passive portfolio
strategies and their link with the theory of efficient capital markets.
Introduction and Definitions:
Depending on whether believing in the Efficiency Market Hypothesis, portfolio strategies are
classified as either active strategies or passive portfolio strategies. Active portfolio strategy doesn t
believe Efficiency Market Hypothesis, it uses available information and forecasting techniques to seek
better performance than the average market, the aim of this strategy is also known as beat the market .
Whereas passive portfolio strategy treats the market as efficient and believes it is not possible to beat
the market returns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Passive portfolio strategy believes in market efficiency, which means information that affects the
markets is available to all investors. Therefore those who go with this theory accept that there is not
possible to consistently beat the market averages. Passive portfolio strategy, which is called index
investing, can only take advantage of the efficient market by using index funds, directly invest in an
index. Usually hold each stock in the proportion it represents of the index, or mathematically from a
portfolio of not more than a specified number of stock, which best tracks the index historically. Rather
than the index fund, returns of passive portfolio strategy can be optimized through diversification and
asset allocation, and by minimisation of investment costs and taxes.
Difference:
Iintuitionally, some difference can be concluded from the features of active and passive portfolio
strategies. The objectives of the two strategies are different. Active portfolio strategy might best be
described as an attempt to apply human intelligence to find good deals in the financial markets.
(Steven, 2014) The strategy wants to make a profit, achieve outperforming an investment benchmark
index. While believing the market efficiency, the passive portfolio strategy is aimed to obtain a similar
market investment performance.
The processes for making reruns of the two strategies are different. Active portfolio

Mozart And Haydn Comparison
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Joseph Haydn are two of the many great classical composers of
their time. Although some of their work may have been underappreciated at the time, their music is
greatly acknowledged, if not well known, today. Both composers were from Austria, and both created
beautiful classical music. However, there are notable differences in their pieces. This could be due to
their personalities, historical context, or instruments of preference. Franz Joseph Haydn is called the
Father of the Symphony. He displayed talent in music from a very early age and at eight years old he
was accepted as a choirboy at Stephen s Cathedral in Vienna. This was just the beginning of his
lengthy career, since he lived to be seventy seven years old. According to the textbook, in total Haydn
composed twelve operas, more than a hundred symphonies, around seventy string quartets, more than
fifty keyboard sonatas, and a large amount of choral music, songs, and chamber music. When it comes
to Haydn s music, the people of his time would say that he composed lively music. This could be
labeled as underappreciation since Haydn s compositions included quite innovative and unique
qualities, which were admired by many composers after him (including Mozart). Haydn s operas were
also special in that he explored emotions in a wider range. Haydn also invented what is called false
recapitulation, which meant that he would arrange the music in such a way that it seemed

Rick Deckard Character Analysis
According to the book, the line that interests me the most was You re a murderer hired by the cops.
(1). It makes me wonder what the protagonist has as an occupation. In the beginning, Rick Deckard is
introduced as a young man who hunts androids that are on the loose. One machine quality that humans
have is the desire to survive. Robots are programmed to do their job in the best way possible, and this
applies to Rick Deckard because he will do whatever it takes to accomplish his goal. Rick Deckard
fails to express his concern for androids because he believes that they are not people with feelings.
Because of his actions, Rick Deckard questioned his ethics when he wondered if he would be able to
recoup enough for the job ahead (33). Even though he knows that it is morally wrong to kill androids,
he does not have a choice because this is his job. Rick Deckard receives money in exchange for
catching and retiring androids. In other words, money is power because it motivates him to work hard
at his job. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe machines have the ability of detecting the emotions of a person by using technological
advances, but they can never understand how one truly feels. According to Phillip K. Dick (1968),
androids had no regard for animals, which possessed no ability to feel emphatic joy for another life
form s success or grief at its defeat that, for him, epitomized The Killers (13). The author explains that
machines are products instead of living creatures because they lack emotions. One human quality that
androids have is intelligence. Despite the fact that androids do not have feelings, they are very smart
in everything that they do. The mood organ is the perfect example. It makes a person feel a certain
way (happy, sad, etc.) by activating the mood

Theme Of Identity In The Absolutely True Diary Of A...
Many times in life, difficult decisions have to be made regarding one s future. It is difficult for people
to find a balance between pursuing their dreams and remaining true to themselves and those they care
about. This struggle is commonly evident when one is caught between two cultures. These cultures
often include a level of loyalty that is hard to break, but is necessary in the pursuit of dreams and
potential. My mom felt this struggle in her life between her mexican heritage and her decision to move
to America. She struggled with deciding to leave her home and those she loved, however when she did
she found a greater sense of self and new opportunities. To this day she feels loyalty to her mexican
heritage and remains a citizen of Mexico to demonstrate her patriotism. She found a greater identity
between the two cultures. In Sherman Alexie s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian the
protagonist, Junior, experiences an internal struggle between his loyalty to his tribe and his desire to
leave and pursue his future. Junior s internal conflict enhances the theme of identity by demonstrating
how even after leaving the reservation, he remained true to his roots while developing his sense of
self. The internal conflict that Junior faces with leaving his tribe to pursue his future at Reardan adds
to the discovery of his identity. The reservation was both heaven and hell for Junior although he felt a
sense of belonging there, he also found himself lacking

Many gap year students specifically take a break from school to visit or live in another region of the
world. Exploring different cultures, learning new things, and having fun are one of the many benefits
that traveling comes with. Many people taking a gap year use this time to learn another language in a
different country. The experience can also inspire new interests that can influence your choice of
profession. Ninety percent of gap year students reported to have developed a greater understanding of
other countries, cultures and peoples.
In addition, this experience can benefit you in other ways too. Gap years can acquire you with many
experiences that can spark up your resume. According to a survey conducted by YouGov in 2011, 53%
of HR professionals agreed that a constructive gap year makes a job application stand out. Employers
often view those who decide to take a gap year as more employable because of the skills that they
acquire abroad. In a sense, they are more prepared to enter the working world than those without the
experience.
Furthermore, many senior students still don t know what they want to be when they grow up. Not
knowing what major you want to pursue may mean you need to explore options in the world prior to
beginning your college career. A gap year allows you to follow your interests and discover what you
truly enjoy. In a study shown by AGA, 77 % of gappers believed that taking a gap year has greatly

Quarterback Mobility And Its Impact On College Football...
The 2012 NFL season is over, and fans are left with little to do, except follow player cuts while
awaiting free agency and the rookie draft. While flipping through the latest news, I came across the
following headlines: o Titans looking to add zone read elements to offense o Quarterback mobility
takes on greater focus at Scouting Combine
The basis of these reports is that an influx of young quarterbacks has entered the NFL over the last
two years with new skill sets from those of the past. These players are QB / RB hybrids with decent
but not exceptional passing skills. Teams such as Carolina, Seattle, Washington, etc have been
modifying their offense to best utilize the players skills, namely by implementing the zone read option

The Pros And Cons Of Bronx Family Law
Bronx family court lawyers Family law includes all statutes and case precedents that cover paternity,
child custody, child and spousal support, marriage and divorce, and violence as well as other issues
that may arise in a family setting. It also covers grandparents rights. Basically, these cases involve
different parties who share a marriage or blood as well as those in casual arrangements. So, there
could be several contracts that you and your spouse may enter in the course of your marriage. You
may enter into a premarital agreement before tying the knot, a postnuptial agreement while married,
and a separation agreement to end your relationship. And, if the marriage is invalid, then annulment
might be the better option. New York family laws have few grounds for initiating an annulment such
as cases of an underage spouse, unresolved issues regarding previous marriages or marriage by force.
With the above in mind, you and your spouse have several options if you decided that the marriage is
not working. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In most instances of divorce, partners usually distrust each other. As a result, they will tend to worry
about the safety and overall well being of the children. In such circumstances, a family attorney will
argue for your case and, most importantly, ensure the best interest of the children is respected.
Fortunately, New York child custody laws are compliant with Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and
Enforcement Act. In New York, there are two types of custody: physical custody and legal custody.
Physical custody involves a parent living with the child or children. A common trend among divorced
families in New York is one spouse spending time with the children on weekdays while the other
spouse stays with them over the weekend. Even if a parent is not living with a child he or she should
have legal rights i.e. having an influence on important decisions regarding the

Whitney Houston Hero s Journey Essay
When Whitney Houston decided to be a singer, her mother warned her she d be alone a lot (Mitchell).
Despite this, Houston was able to realize that we all are no matter what we do. Loneliness is a thing
that comes with life. In order to deal with this feeling of isolation that her mother had warned her
about, Houston turned to drugs and a destructive marriage. You d think that with all her fans and huge
career Houston would be happy, but it s easy to tell from her example that even those who seem the
strongest can break into something no one can imagine. Joseph Campbell first outlined his thoughts of
a journey all mythical heroes followed as steps in 1949 and, despite the time difference, these steps
can still be compared to the lives of modern day heroes. From her birth to her death, Houston
managed to follow these steps of the Hero s Journey to prove herself as a hero who fought for her

was brought by a herald, Houston was her own herald by producing her call by herself. Her interest in
singing pushed her into wanting to have her own career like her mother. She was able to start pursuing
this call when she was 11 by singing solos as a member of a junior gospel choir at her church.
Houston then began to perform with her mother at a few gigs as a teen and later went on to be a

The Rise Of Post Impressionism
Impressionism was an art movement that started in the mid Nineteenth Century and peaked during the
1870s. Although Impressionism was also apparent in mediums like music and literature, its most
prominent influence was painting. As it progressed towards Post Impressionism, it opened up the art
world to stylistic rendering, deviated from realism, and introduced the world to modern and avant
garde art. This essay will discuss how it managed to do so and specifically how the movement
advanced into Post Impressionism.
To understand how Impressionism came about, we must first understand how Academic Art rose to
power. Academic Art was introduced in the Renaissance period, Old Masters such as Leonardo and
Michelangelo emphasized the need for painting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Impressionism peaked in 1870 artists such as Cézanne and Seurat started to opt out from
exhibiting altogether, and had produced their own styles. In the eighth and final Impressionist
exhibition, it was suggested that the title Impressionist be dropped as the artists who aligned with its
characteristics were not present, and pieces were judged by its own merit rather than as a group.
Manet s death in 1883 had also signaled the breakup of the Impressionists, being one of the initiators
of the movement. Therefore, the lack of common ideas between the artists led them to work
independently, form new ideas and techniques which led to Post Impressionism.
In conclusion, Post Impressionism itself was not a singular style, but was unified through the rejection
of Impressionism and many post impressionist artists served as inspiration for many movements to
come such as Fauvism, Symbolism, Expressionism and avant garde art in general.
The inherent limitations and discontent in forms of expression was what drove artists from academic
art into Impressionism. It became the first movement to question and redefine what was acceptable
and considered as art. Similarly, the same was done to progress from Impressionism into Post
Impressionism. People have realized the need for constant reevaluation and experimentation to
innovate new ideas fitting for the progressive

Moreover, although these findings were not consistent with earlier work into the theory of evaluative
conditioning such as that shown by Chen et al. (2012) cited in Brace (2014, p.160) and Hollands et al.
(2011) cited in The Open University (2014), many factors might be present into why this study did not
accurately support this work. For example, choosing participants from amongst family and friends
might make them feel pressurised, to give answers that they believed were wanted. Thus, giving false
results when the data is analysed. This is a limitation as participants should be unconnected to the
researchers running the experiment. Yet the number of participants selected not being too many or too
small struck the right balance between size and effectiveness, this being a strength. Additionally, only
having a Yes or No answer, might limit the kind of data collected, and is another limitation. However,
if participants also wrote a short explanation of why they either disliked or liked the Logo, then more
precise data may have been obtained. Also, it can be argued, the subject matter used may not have
been a positive enough reinforcement image to show participants, for them to reinforce a positive
pairing with the DE100 IPTV logo. Since it could be proposed that participants may have some form
of bias towards liking celebrities over other reinforcing images, as celebrities are constantly seen on

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Hell House By Richard Matheson
Rhetorical Analysis Context and Reception Draft Hell House by Richard Matheson creates a haunting
story by utilizing not only the house and whatever it inhabits, but also the characters in order to cause
transgression in the story for the reader as well as highlight how horror can come from many
unexpected places. Matheson creates a horrifying setting with the history behind the Belasco house
and its past residents which causes an initial harsh reception from an indirect source many would not
expect. The book continues to do the least expected by creating many sexual descriptions and scenes
from the characters during times that don t seem normal and progressively get more horrific. By the
end of the story, Belasco, the man who was haunting the whole group, is revealed to be the least
menacing character to show how the horrific actions can come from just about anywhere and anyone.

Fischer describes how in the house, debauchery became the norm (20), and so did, brutality and

in this house are from being normal. The history Matheson created for the house makes it cross the
boundaries most people have and that is not including the fact that the house is now also a home to
evil spirits. Some might even feel that the history behind the house is more haunting than the house

Extracurricular Experience In High School

If you had something that you loved, something that made you successful, would you want to share it?
I did. I know some awesome athletes in my high school that just needed a little push. They needed a
little more time with a coach, a little more encouragement. I knew I was someone that could do that.
Over the summer, I helped out three young women from my high school with javelin technique and
workout habits they should get into. I met with each of them once or twice a week for practice. Addie

Leadership Theories And Its Impact On The Leadership Process
Followership Leadership theories have been, throughout history, well covered and studied by
researchers. The main characteristic of a leader is having followers, therefore, it is interesting to notice
that the importance of followership has been undermined by academics (Uhl Bien, Riggio, Lowe,
Carsten, 2014). The followers behaviors affect the leaders behaviors, and vice versa, therefore it is
beneficial to managers to understand followership theories.
Followership is the study of the nature and impact of followers in the leadership process (Uhl Bien et
al.). It is interesting to notice that followership has a negative connotation in today s society, as it is
mistakenly considered as the simple ability to follow the directions of people in charge. The term
follower is linked to a passive, weak, conforming, and negative image (insert Bjugstad, Thach,
Thompson, Morris, 2006); therefore, individuals in organizations avoid being labeled as followers. In
contrast, the term leadership has appeal and is linked to positive images which increase the
motivations to be leaders instead of followers. However, individuals in organizations are very likely to
play both roles (as he/she has both bosses and subordinates) so the ability to be effective followers is
vital to the success of the organization.
Qualities of Followers
Robert Kelley (1988) identified four essential characteristics of positive followers:

sexual contact without proper prevention can put us at risk of an STI. This is part of the reason why
that there are twenty million new cases of STIs every year. In 2015, it was discovered that teens ages
thirteen to twenty four account for over twenty three percent of all HIV cases in the US. According to
the CDC, half of all STI cases are from teens. Even with sharing a water bottle STIs can spread from
person to person. Some STIs are incurable, while others can be cured with a doctor s help. All people
who are educated in health know the risks, and are informed on how some STIs last a lifetime. Some
teens think that STIs are only now ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meanwhile, fifteen point seven percent of teens aged fourteen to nineteen have HSV 2. This strain
causes mild skin irritations or painful lesions. When herpes spreads to the genitals, it is known as
genital herpes. One can be infected in the genitals with both forms of herpes in the genitals. This
infection has always been extremely common, and is usually not noticeable.
Technological advances have allowed some STIs to become curable. Gonorrhea is one of these.
Gonorrhea is a bacteria that infects different membranes in the genital area. Some are the urinary tract
and cervix. It can also possibly infect the eyes and throat. The CDC shows that around five hundred
and fifty thousand new Gonorrhea cases in the United States were from people aged fifteen to twenty
four in 2016. To spread Gonorrhea, ejaculation does not need to occur. It causes genital pain and
abnormally colored discharge. These symptoms aren t why Gonorrhea can be dangerous. In women, if
spread to the fallopian tubes, Gonorrhea can cause PID, which causes pain. PID, if untreated, could
lead to permanent infertility. In rare cases, Gonorrhea can also affect a man s fertility. If a pregnant
women has it, she can pass it on to the child. To cure it, the CDC recommends a mix of two different
medicines. This treatment plan can get rid of the disease, but cannot replace damaged body parts.
Some Gonorrhoeae strains are what is known as antimicrobial resistant.

Nursing As A Career Essay
There are many external factors that have influenced my choice in the career I wish to go into, these
are the area of nursing so adult or children, my qualification are they the best I can get and what else
can I do but also the university I wish to go to, the money side so do I have the money to do the course
do I have to get a loan or can I get a bursary and also my family as their opinion matters and do I wish
to be close to them. This will discuss why I have picked nursing as a career and what I think is right
for me.
Firstly, the type of career I have always wanted was to be able to help and care for others in a busy
environment, where something is always happening. I felt adult nursing was best as I could work in
hospitals and nursing homes, schools and colleges, HM Forces, and the prison services (national
careers service, 2012). I have also wanted to work within the army and I would like to become medic
within the T.A as it is very hands on. I mainly would like to work in the aeroplanes that go to front line
to bring the injured back to safety and get them back to full health. I have also considered working in
rehabilitation in Headley court, to help servicemen and women get back to their unit as quickly ...

When doing my BTEC I had to save up for tuition fees: £1100 (Carshalton College, 2015) which I
worked hard to save so I could pay it in full, as I did not want to get a loan at such an early stage
specially as I wish to go university. For university I have calculated bursary and looked into the
different loans I may able to receive, so I am able to pay all my bills, get to and from placements and
to afford the equipment I may need, I worked it all out on the Student Bursary Calculator (NHS
business services authority, 2012) it is not 100% accurate but it is a way of planning out

Film Analysis Story vs. Film
Film vs. Short Story Analysis The Curious Case of Benjamin Button In reviewing the Paramount film
adaptation of The Curious of Benjamin Button, directed by David Fincher and screenplay by Eric
Roth, with the original story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, one may conclude that there are more differences
than there are similarities. The film version does maintain the main premise of the story, in that, it tells
the tale of a man born old that grew up to be young, a story on aging. I will attempt to provide you
with my view of the two mediums regarding their characters, settings and elements in the film that
enhance or distract from the story. First, let s review the characters in the main story, of which there
are few in the literary story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film version contained two mothers , actually; the birth mother who dies giving birth to him that
we later find out was named Caroline, her maiden name being Murphy. We catch a brief glimpse of
her just after the birth when she makes the father promise that Benjamin would have a place in his life.
Of course he is upset and he looks at what may be a monstrosity for a son, blaming the child for her
death and dumps Benjamin on the stairs at the old folk s home where an African American woman,
named Queenie, becomes his surrogate mother. Here is a loving and nurturing individual that raises
him in the film where there is no loving or nurturing female in the literary story. Now in the literary
story Benjamin has a grandfather who at the start was antagonized, became to enjoy his grandson s
company. It is a brief account of his grandfather but a meaningful one as this was the first one who
gave him a sense of acceptance. The film version gave him acceptance through Queenie and we never
get to know a grandfather; though one could say the patrons at the old folk s home could have been
grandparent surrogates for Benjamin. The patrons at the old folks home taught him many things but
his experience living there taught him not to fear death and what loss was about which, in a sense,
desensitized the character so that when Queenie passes he is not visibly upset. The last characters that
I will discuss will be the love

Becoming A Physical Therapist
In my navigation through life, I have narrowed down my career paths to two choices. The first choice
being becoming a physical therapist, and the second choice being becoming a veterinarian. I would
like to be a physical therapist because I am familiar with the type of work they do and enjoy helping
people get back on the feet achieve their goal of recovery. I would like to specialize in helping athletes
to recover as I myself know how important it is for athletes to recover quickly, and, more importantly,
to receive the correct treatment to prevent a single injury that can be rehabilitated from becoming a
life long issue. My overall goal would be to one day own my own practice. I also can see myself
becoming a veterinarian to study and learn

Recycling in Retail
Retail Management Changes Like any other sector of the market, the industry of recycled merchandise
has undergone a range of changes in Australia, just like anywhere else in the world. For example, one
of the biggest changes involves the creation and evolution of new technology and network
development, such as the concept of eBay and the online flea market arena. For example, eBay in
Australia has been around for just 13 years, and has undergone a complete evolution from the time
that it first began to the type of things its selling right now at the greatest level of popularity. Ebay
began as an online marketplace strictly for collectible toys and hard to find items from Americana or
yesteryear: The weird and wacky is what eBay s bread and butter was for many years. Now the
biggest selling categories are similar to what you would find in a shopping centre clothes, homewares,
consumer electronics and motors, which is a really big category particularly in Australia . The most
expensive item sold on eBay Australia was the last ever Holden Monaro to come off the car maker s
production line. It was auctioned for $187,600 in February, with all proceeds going to the Leukemia
Foundation (news.com, 2009). Ebay is not the only website for the online shopping of used materials
that has become popular. For example, a website like recycleaustralia.swapspace.com allows people to
post pictures and descriptions of their old items so that they can swap or exchange them with other

The Effects Of Huey Long s Bills Affecting Our State
Has anyone here ever stopped and wondered why LSU is the size it is today or why there never seems
to be a shortage of schools wherever you go in the state. Whether you have or not, these are both
causes of Huey Long s bills affecting our state, also known as the reign of the Kingfish. Huey Pierce
Long was born on August 30, 1893, in the town of Winnfield located in Winn Parish to Mrs.
Caledonia Long and Mr. Huey Long, Sr. The young Huey was the seventh of nine children (his
younger siblings being named Earl and Lucille), and he lived the life of a farmer s child. Although he
lived in an environment that offered little time for leisure or even education, Huey s parents
emphasized education in each of their children s lives along with individual expression and
competition. The family was also a group of astute Christians with their daily Bible studies, attending
church twice a week, and frequent attendance to gospel revivals.
As Huey grew, there was no school for him to go too. Therefore, his mother home schooled him with
his eight siblings until a formal education was accessible. While being homeschooled, Huey studied
penmanship, writing, math, history, classic literature, and poetry along with the Bible being the
mainstay of his teachings. By age eleven, Long started going to a public school in fourth grade. He
was far ahead and bored by the teachings. He eventually persuaded his teacher to let him skip seventh
grade. He further continued onto the completion of

Breast Health Care at Magee Women International Intro As an intern with Magee Womancare International (MWI), the international humanitarian outreach arm of Magee Womens Hospital, my primary goal was to provide breast health education to underserved African Americans and Latino women throughout the Pittsburgh area, to navigate and support these women through the breast health continuum of care, and to facilitate clinical and mammography screenings through the Breast Health Equity and Circulos de Amigas programs. As a male intern, my role in this program was to engage local and predominantly male led grassroots organizations and religious groups in breast health education to promote healthy families and ultimately healthy and safe communities. The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara gives a unquestionable vivid image of the Battle of Gettysburg. Mr. Shaara s historical accuracy is spot on from the innermost thoughts of the characters to the geographical location and weather descriptions to allow the readers to get a taste of the novel s to the real life events. The third strategy, focus is when a firm chooses a narrow segment within its industry and tailors its offerings (strategy) to that segment (Porter, 1980). Focus strategies involve achieving cost leadership or differentiation within niche markets in ways that are not available to more broadly focused players. Finally, Porter labels firms that follow each generic strategy, but do not achieve any of them as stuck in the middle . Porter asserted that the three strategies were distinct mutually exclusive alternatives. He argued that firms may be able to successfully pursue more than one of these strategies simultaneously, but this is rarely possible. (Porter, 1980: 35). A firm which failed to follow one of the strategies was stuck in the middle, which guaranteed the firm low profitability. This objective of this paper is to thoroughly explain the three generic competitive strategies as presented by porter. The paper further analyses the competitive strategy of apple Inc and the application of porter s generic competitive strategy before drawing vital conclusions on the subject. 2.0 Porter s three Generic Competitive Strategies Generic strategies were used initially in the early 1980s, and seem to be even more popular today. • 17. Mozart And Haydn Comparison Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Joseph Haydn are two of the many great classical composers of their time. Although some of their work may have been underappreciated at the time, their music is greatly acknowledged, if not well known, today. Both composers were from Austria, and both created beautiful classical music. However, there are notable differences in their pieces. This could be due to their personalities, historical context, or instruments of preference. Franz Joseph Haydn is called the Father of the Symphony. He displayed talent in music from a very early age and at eight years old he was accepted as a choirboy at Stephen s Cathedral in Vienna. This was just the beginning of his lengthy career, since he lived to be seventy seven years old. According to the textbook, in total Haydn composed twelve operas, more than a hundred symphonies, around seventy string quartets, more than fifty keyboard sonatas, and a large amount of choral music, songs, and chamber music. When it comes to Haydn s music, the people of his time would say that he composed lively music. This could be labeled as underappreciation since Haydn s compositions included quite innovative and unique qualities, which were admired by many composers after him (including Mozart). Haydn s operas were also special in that he explored emotions in a wider range. Haydn also invented what is called false recapitulation, which meant that he would arrange the music in such a way that it seemed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite this, Houston was able to realize that we all are no matter what we do. Loneliness is a thing that comes with life. In order to deal with this feeling of isolation that her mother had warned her about, Houston turned to drugs and a destructive marriage. You d think that with all her fans and huge career Houston would be happy, but it s easy to tell from her example that even those who seem the strongest can break into something no one can imagine. Joseph Campbell first outlined his thoughts of a journey all mythical heroes followed as steps in 1949 and, despite the time difference, these steps can still be compared to the lives of modern day heroes. Although Impressionism was also apparent in mediums like music and literature, its most prominent influence was painting. As it progressed towards Post Impressionism, it opened up the art world to stylistic rendering, deviated from realism, and introduced the world to modern and avant garde art. This essay will discuss how it managed to do so and specifically how the movement advanced into Post Impressionism. To understand how Impressionism came about, we must first understand how Academic Art rose to power. After Impressionism peaked in 1870 artists such as Cézanne and Seurat started to opt out from exhibiting altogether, and had produced their own styles. In the eighth and final Impressionist exhibition, it was suggested that the title Impressionist be dropped as the artists who aligned with its characteristics were not present, and pieces were judged by its own merit rather than as a group. Manet s death in 1883 had also signaled the breakup of the Impressionists, being one of the initiators of the movement. Therefore, the lack of common ideas between the artists led them to work independently, form new ideas and techniques which led to Post Impressionism. In conclusion, Post Impressionism itself was not a singular style, but was unified through the rejection of Impressionism and many post impressionist artists served as inspiration for many movements to come such as Fauvism, Symbolism, Expressionism and avant garde art in general. The inherent limitations and discontent in forms of expression was what drove artists from academic art into Impressionism. It became the first movement to question and redefine what was acceptable and considered as art. Similarly, the same was done to progress from Impressionism into Post Impressionism. (2012) cited in Brace (2014, p.160) and Hollands et al. (2011) cited in The Open University (2014), many factors might be present into why this study did not accurately support this work. For example, choosing participants from amongst family and friends might make them feel pressurised, to give answers that they believed were wanted. Thus, giving false results when the data is analysed. This is a limitation as participants should be unconnected to the researchers running the experiment. Yet the number of participants selected not being too many or too small struck the right balance between size and effectiveness, this being a strength. Additionally, only having a Yes or No answer, might limit the kind of data collected, and is another limitation. However, if participants also wrote a short explanation of why they either disliked or liked the Logo, then more precise data may have been obtained. Also, it can be argued, the subject matter used may not have been a positive enough reinforcement image to show participants, for them to reinforce a positive pairing with the DE100 IPTV logo. Matheson creates a horrifying setting with the history behind the Belasco house and its past residents which causes an initial harsh reception from an indirect source many would not expect. The book continues to do the least expected by creating many sexual descriptions and scenes from the characters during times that don t seem normal and progressively get more horrific. • 41. Leadership Theories And Its Impact On The Leadership Process Followership Leadership theories have been, throughout history, well covered and studied by researchers. The main characteristic of a leader is having followers, therefore, it is interesting to notice that the importance of followership has been undermined by academics (Uhl Bien, Riggio, Lowe, Carsten, 2014). The followers behaviors affect the leaders behaviors, and vice versa, therefore it is beneficial to managers to understand followership theories. Followership is the study of the nature and impact of followers in the leadership process (Uhl Bien et al.). It is interesting to notice that followership has a negative connotation in today s society, as it is mistakenly considered as the simple ability to follow the directions of people in charge. The term follower is linked to a passive, weak, conforming, and negative image (insert Bjugstad, Thach, Thompson, Morris, 2006); therefore, individuals in organizations avoid being labeled as followers. In contrast, the term leadership has appeal and is linked to positive images which increase the motivations to be leaders instead of followers. However, individuals in organizations are very likely to play both roles (as he/she has both bosses and subordinates) so the ability to be effective followers is vital to the success of the organization.
