The Civil Rights Movement And The Federal Government...
I took another visit to the Library of Congress, located in Washington D.C. I went to James Madison
building. My purpose at the library was to research The Civil Rights Movement and the Federal
Government Records of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Police Community Relations in Urban
Areas, 1954 1966 and obtain information from the Newspaper and Current Periodical reading room. I
was really disappointed that the librarian directed to me to ProQuest periodical. There was no other
access of information. When I enter the manuscript room, it was the first time for me using microfilm
and I was watch intensely by the staff when I was using the reel machine. The microfilms are located
in the Madison building. The records focused on Black Americans, civil rights, Commission on civil
Rights, police, race relations, racial discrimination, and urban area. The records were generated to
disclose the tense relationships between police enforcement and the black communities they served in.
This collection included reports on police brutality, dishonest arrests, and police failure to act for
protection, race relations, and police training programs in cities including Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit,
New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Baltimore. I focused on the city of
Baltimore. Some of the materials were written or received by Roy Littlejohn, he was the staff attorney
for the Commission on Civil Rights. Some of the other materials were issued by local

colleagues and friends help sustain accurate self reflection and the emotional and psychological

Shakespeare s Use of Aristotle s Guidelines to Tragedy in...
Throughout time, the tragedy has been seen as the most emotionally pleasing form of drama, because
of its ability to bring the viewer into the drama and feel for the characters, especially the tragic hero.
This analysis of tragedy was formed by the Greek philosopher Aristotle, and also noted in his Poetics
(guidelines to drama). As a playwright, Shakespeare used Aristotle s guidelines to tragedy when
writing Othello. The play that was created revolved around the tragic hero, Othello, whose tragic flaw
transformed him from a nobleman, into a destructive creature, which would inevitably bring him to his
downfall. This transformation follows an organic movement of the complex plot from the beginning,
middle, to the end of the drama while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third, was thought, which was used to show the characters motives, either through soliloquy or direct
conversation. After those came diction, song and spectacle, which were used to contribute to the unity
of the play s plot. By using these guidelines, Shakespeare created one of his greatest Aristotelian
tragedies. This is because he applied the Poetics guidelines to complex plot, the tragic hero, and the
establishment of pity, fear, and catharsis of the audience s emotions. The complex plot follows Othello
and his transformation from nobleman to monster through the exploitation of his tragic flaw. As the
plot moves from exposition, complication, challenge, conflict, climax, and finally to dénouement,
Othello goes through a recognition scene which leads to a reversal in his fortune and his scene of
suffering. As noted by Aristotle, a complex plot must be able to move organically from beginning to
end while still staying universal and probable. Also, as the plot moves on there should be a clear
movement from exposition to denomount. Finally, the tragedy should have a recognition scene, a
reversal of fortune, as well as a scene of suffering. In Othello, the organic movement of the play is
achieved by following Othello s transformation. At the beginning of the drama, the audience finds out
about the marriage between Othello

Computer Networks And The Internet
Why me? The simple fact of having an unprotected computer network, law enforcement not up to par,
and a challenge is all a hacker needs to cash in; sometimes personal, but for the most part, just
business as usual. Hackers once admired in the 1960 s are now dangerous and a threat to big box
corporations, small businesses, and personal computer users. Data breaches are the most lucrative
business for hackers still. An example of data breaching is Computer Memory Racking or also known
as memory consumption or memory corruption. Basically, an adversary gains unauthorized access to a
computer or computer s network through a network s hole to deploy malicious code and gain access to
the volatile data stored in memory.
Hackers are constantly probing corporations to acquire system information. Buffer overflows and OS
stack overflow are commonly caused by hackers when the buffer is not flushed regularly. A hacker
causes a Denial of Service (DoS) which are too many access requests at once so the webserver gets
confused and crashes opening the doors for the hacker. Once they are in the damage can be endless.
From web server over stacking (deployed script to make changes to settings) to sequel injections,
executed code typed beyond the password, e.g. I_like_toast and 1:1;select*from SYS.Objects. (2016,

achieve by decorating his or her bedroom. Surely, the foremost thing you ought to do is ask your kid

The World Of The Korean War
Before the Korean War took place, a significant historical event that led to the partitioning of Korea
into two is the later part of the Japanese occupation, where Japan colonized Korea during World War
II. Korea was under Japanese control for 35 long years, from 1910 to 1945. The nation was able to
gain its independence when Japan surrendered on August 15 in 1945. The main factor which aided
Korea towards freedom from Japan was the Allies of World War II, also known as the United Nations
today. The Allies included 20 nations, with the United States, the Soviet Union, China, and the United
Kingdom being the larger entities. The Allies joined forces against the Axis powers, which mainly
comprised Germany, Italy and Japan, who were trying to protect nations against communism
(promoted by the Soviet Union and China) and plutocratic capitalism (promoted by the United States).
On August 6, 1945, the United States launched its first atomic bomb attack on Japan in the city of
Hiroshima, causing devastating effects to the city. On August 9, 1945, the United States launched their
second atomic bomb attack on Japan in another city, Nagasaki, while the Soviet Union invaded
Manchukuo, which was under Japanese control at that time. The series of events left Japan in a state of
shock and bewilderment that they had no choice but to surrender to the Allied forces. At that time, the
Soviet Union had conquered the northeastern part of Korea, while the United States was still attacking

Compare And Contrast Walter And Mama In A Raisin In The Sun
In the book A Raisin in the Sun by Larraine Hansberry, Walter and Mama are the two most influential
characters to the plot. Walter is obnoxious and always thinks about himself while Mama is forceful
and very strict. They both play a major role in the story. Both have changed or impacted the plot and
characters feelings and or thoughts. Without them in the story it would be very different. Walter is a
very important character and impacts everybody by his actions and what he says and does. Walter
changes a lot throughout the story. He begins to become very hostile and short tempered towards his
family. He starts to lose all his family values and only starts to worry and care about the check that is
coming in. He says, did it come? will somebody please listen to me today!!! This shows that he wants
everyone to listen to his idea about what he wants to do with the money. While he wants this, he
shows no care or regard to anyone else s ideas or thoughts about it. The quotes show how selfish and
rude he is, also it shows how he has lost of all his family s values because he won t even listen to
anybody else. Walter has changed his whole family. He has started so much conflict with all his
family. His family at this rate will be better off without him. You ain t looked at it yet and you don t
aim to speak on that again? You ain t looked at it and you have decided well, you tell that to my boy
tonight when you put him to sleep on the living room couch. This just shows how much he wants to
have HER money for himself because he is selfish and a shallow person. He is the reason why the
family is tearing apart. Also, Walters actions show how edgy and inpatient he is. (Violently flinging
the coat after her) He starts to get very violent, he flings things, slams doors, yells at mama, and starts
to get verbally abusive towards her. He doesn t know how to let things go and how to think in another
person s perspective. He only wants to do what he wants, he doesn t care what the other family
members want he just knows what he wants to get and forces the decision upon them all. In this book
Mama plays a very important role. She is the head of the house and has a major part in what people

Climate Change In The Arctic
Environmental change in the Arctic has been a subject of recent interest within the discourse of global
warming, climate change, and indigenous rights; however, scholars have yet to examine the
importance of 20th century racial, cultural, and environmental interactions within Northern Canada.
Specifically, the Northern areas of Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba provide interesting and important
issues that are critical to current discussions of global warming, climate change, and water rights and
quality because of their location to the Hudson Bay and the intertwined environmental experience.
Unlike other areas of Northern Canada, areas in Northern Quebec, Manitoba, and Ontario are subject

major book The Canadian Identity (1961) and his address to the Royal Society of Canada in 1970, The
North in Canadian Historiography, directly addressed the defining and representation of the North in
historical writing. Following, Canadian historians began examining the environment and the north in
new and crucial ways. Crosby (1986) deals with the global history of European imperialism and
ecological repercussions of biological imperialism; Nuttall (1998) explores the ways that indigenous
peoples have engaged in political activities concerning environmental and sustainable development as

Sherman s Part In The Atlanta Campaign
During the 1860s, the United States was divided during a time known as the American Civil War. One
of the most bloodiest wars of all time. Although the Union cavalry was well manned and well
equipped, the improper placement and deficient senior leadership caused the union to have an
unsuccessful and detrimental part in the Atlanta Campaign. U.S. General Sherman halted the offensive
while he resupplied his army and repaired the railroad from Kingston to Acworth. This was a good
move on Sherman s part. On June 14, the first day of sun after eleven days of rain, Sherman made a
personal reconnaissance of the Pine Mountain are to determine how to dislodge Johnston without
attacking the confederate fortified position on Pine Mountain, one mile in advance of the confederate
main line, occupied by CS General Bate s Division (Atlanta Campaign 1). When Sherman spotted a
group of confederates on the mountain, he commented, How saucy they are. He ordered three volleys
fired at the group, which included Johnston, CS General Hardee, and CS General Polk. The fire from
the 5th Indiana Battery killed Polk. On June 15, the XX Corps attacked the confederate center at

Southerners perhaps faced inevitable defeat. On July 10, the Yankees crossed the Chattahoochee
River, forcing the Rebels to abandon their works North of the stream. The Chattahoochee was the last
natural barrier between Sherman s troops and Atlanta, which lay 6 miles from the river. Throughout
these weeks, Davis and Johnston exchanged numerous telegrams concerning the conduct of the

The Influence of Organisational Structure on...
The success or failure of an organisation can often be attributed to the sum of their parts such as staff,
profit, products, strategy, technology, environment, structure and culture. These parts or factors can
directly contribute to the strengths or weaknesses of an organisation and they are all interrelated. This
essay will examine organisational structure and organisational culture and the influence mechanistic
and organic structures have on organisational culture.
Organisational structure, as defined by Hodge, Anthony Gales (1996), is the sum total of the way in
which an organisation divides it s labour into distinct tasks and then coordinates them (p.32). It is a set
of structural elements used to manage the total organisation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
A major weakness of this structure can be its effect on communication. Communication in this model
often travels vertically from teams to senior management rather than across all functional groups. This
can cause a duplication of efforts, where multiple teams are trying to achieve the same objective or
doing the same work, a lack of cooperation between groups where they only focus in what is in their
own best interests and the change of focus from the business goals to the individual groups goals
(Banner Gagne, 1995).
Divisional and conglomerate designs have some similarities. Both are based on separate businesses
operating under the larger framework of a parent company or organisation, however, in a divisional
structure the businesses are directly related to each other whereas with a conglomerate structure the
businesses are unrelated separate entities. Both structures are based on product departmentalisation,
which is where each business is responsible for producing their own service or goods, responsible for
profits and losses and have their own independent general managers (Davidson et al, 2009).
A divisional design will often report into a central head office and is able to utilise shared services
such as human resources, site services and payroll. This structure allows each separate business to
focus solely on their specific objectives,

Disadvantages Of Newspaper Article
In research, there is a wide variety of ways in which researchers and journalists go about presenting
their, or others, findings. Because many of these findings have the possibility to have significant
impact on the general populace, it is important to know the context from which this information is
being published, as many findings may be influenced by source, representation, bias, outside funding
or goals, and many other extraneous factors. In this case, the Lillienfeld et al (2014) article and The
Telegraph article are both presented in vastly differing ways, both with their own advantages and
disadvantages. These two articles bring to the forefront many differences in the ways that scholarly
and popular media formats address findings. The article by Lillienfeld et al (2014) serves as a great
example of the general advantages and disadvantages held by scholarly articles. One of the most
pronounce advantages of scholarly articles is that they often go into more depth in their definitions
and explanations of the variables and findings of their research. In the Lillienfeld et al (2014) article, a
great example of this is in their goal statement near the beginning of the article. They very clearly
explain that there is very little research into the implications of [psychopathic] traits for everyday
functioning with large amounts of citation, leading into their goal, in which they try to determine the
extent to which [psychopathic] traits display response penetration in

Coaches And Doctors Should Take More Caution With...
Coaches and doctors should take more caution with concussed athletes when they get injured because
concussions can affect their brain and functionality further in life. The most research is being taken
from the adults who suffer concussions, but what about these adolescents? I think it would be harder
to diagnose a concussion from adolescents so they should check these kids more and the way they
play sports so the doctors can improve the injuries for further on in life.
A concussion is traumatic brain injury, usually caused by a person hitting their head on something or
sudden movement that can cause the brain to rattle in the skull. A way a person gets a concussion is a

When does an athlete know how they can come back from a concussion? There are 22 different
written guidelines for concussion severity and determining return to play. In a grade 1 concussion,
most common yet most difficult to recognize the seriousness of the concussion the athlete does not
lose consciousness and has only one transient or momentary confusion for less than 15 minutes
(Heads Up). A grade 2 concussion is when the athlete also does not become unconscious but sees
signs of confusion or other differences in their normal self for longer than 15 minutes. Grade 3
concussions are the most easily recognized as the athlete loses consciousness, either briefly or for
more prolonged periods of time (Heads Up 3).
We should be exploring new ways to keep athletes safe from concussions. Public advocates are trying
to find new ways to prevent traumatic brain injuries. These include difficulty concentrating or thinking
clearly, headaches, irritability, anxiety, or sadness. These injuries have also been linked to sleep
problems, vision problems, and sensitivity to light and noise. Concussions can also include long term

Hell s Angels By Hunter S. Thompson Summary
Hunter S. Thompson was the author of Hell s Angles published in 1967 by Random House. In this
book Thompson follows Hell s Angles for a two year period, focusing on the Oakland and San
Francisco chapters. The Hell s Angels were known for their violent nature and disregard for authority.
Thompson illustrates this by saying, when you re asked to stay out of a bar you don t just punch the
owner. You come back with your army and tear the place down, destroy the whole edifice and
everything it stand for. No compromise. If a man gets wise, mash his face. If a woman snubs you, rape
her. This is the thinking, if not the reality, behind the whole Hell s Angels act. The Hell s Angels were
an infamous motorcycle gang. Hell s Angels were founded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This style of journalism is a first person narrative to report on personal experiences and emotions,
compared with traditional journalism, which relies on some degree of detachment and with its use of
facts and quotations. Hell s Angels should be regarded as an important piece of journalism because,
Thompson reported on events that were relevant to the counter culture and the struggles of defying
social status in the United States. Furthermore the events that are covered in this book were of interest
to people throughout the nation. This book would be of interest to a wide variety of people. For
instance, motorcycle enthuses would likely take interest because, the book is about a notorious
motorcycle gang. People interested in counter culture might also take an interest in this book due to
the fact that the Hell s Angles questioned the social class system. Even people interested in sociology
could also take an interest in the book because, sociology is the study of the development, structure,
and functioning of human society ad social problems. A sociology professor could use this book as an
example for their class to understand a subculture, similarly to the Street Corner Society by William

Racial Diversity in Jury Selection
Racial Diversity in Jury Selection
Barbara Sigler
Unit 3
American Intercontinental University
Abstract
The selection process of juries was designed to select citizens that were equal peers of the person
involved in the trial. However, many disparities exist and the selection process at times seems to be
disproportionate relating to race or ethnicity. Reform of the legislature would benefit those that are not
being properly served.
It is the right of every citizen in this nation to have his or her case decided by a fair and impartial jury.
The selection of the jury panel is one of great importance and one that can have a great effect on the
outcome of the case. Therefore, it is obvious that the attorneys have a ... Show more content on

Bali 9 Clock Ticks Analysis
Written by Cindy Wockner, the Bali 9 Clock Ticks newspaper article appearing in the Herald Sun
serves as a neat, professional update on the predicament of Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan.
Written in typical newspaper fashion, the article underlies themes of desperation, hopelessness and
fear in a detached string of paragraphs. The article catches our attention with a suspenseful, desperate
title Bali 9 Clock Ticks. The phrase Clock Ticks paints a picture in our minds of time running out, and
having to do something drastic before it s too late. This theme of despair is continuously highlighted
throughout the text through phrases such as all but in their executioners crosshairs , effectively signing
his death warrant , the end is nigh , and quickly running out of options . The audience ... Show more

The next story, again regarding a woman, is made to push us into a position of anger rather than
regret, preparing us for the greater injustices to come later in the text. Wockner casually details how
another woman s co accursed including the drug ring mastermind won clemency back in 2012.
Wockner is subtly showing us the unjustness of the legal system, in the example of a woman who was
simply a pawn being sentenced to death while her boss is set free. Anecdotes like this appeal to our
sense of justice, inciting feelings of rage towards those who caused the injustice in this case, the

How To Write A Personal Reflection Essay
My body is 75% Dr.Pepper and that s all thanks to the free market Noah Clay Dawson. My sophomore
year of high school was a normal year for the most part for me except for one person that really struck
a chord with me and changed my way of thinking, and my entire view of the world a single person, a
person who could drink two liters of Dr.Pepper everyday a person I m proud to call my mentor, Noah
Clay Dawson. The start of sophomore year and the new beginning of my Speech Debate season when
After listening to some Tame Impala he asked Have you ever heard of Ron Paul? after I responded
with a no he started telling me about economist and politicians such as Milton Friedman, Murray
Rothbard, Friedrich Hayek, Rand Paul, and Gary Johnson. Naturally at first I was confused, but
instead of blowing it off I started asking questions started listening more and started to read more of
what he told me to read and after a while, I started to apply everything I was learning into Debate
Congress, where I did surprisingly well, Noah saw this and got two other seniors Zack Wall and
Morgan Taylor to help me understand the event better and explain rules and procedures although I was
an entire semester behind to gain enough points for State I came close roughly missing State by five
points. Throughout the remaining semester I started to question a lot more of what was being
provided, and asking myself Is this necessary, a necessary evil, or unnecessary, and what can I do to
change that?

All too often, people use products without really paying attention to the ingredients. If a person does
some research, he or she would be absolutely amazed at what they put on or in their bodies on a daily
basis. If a person researches the side effects of the chemicals in the products they use, they would
realize why there is a movement out there to go to more natural products. Some of the most chemical
laden products out there are hair products, such as shampoos and conditioners. There are chemicals in
these products that, over time, can do significant damage to hair. Luckily, there are hair products out
there that use natural ingredients that do a much better job of keeping hair healthy and they often don t
have any of the nasty side effects of the chemicals.

Access Control System Analysis
As a business owner, you want to make sure you keep your business secure both during and after
working hours. One tool you can use to keep your business as secure as possible is an access control
system.
An access control system can provide you with greater control over who enters your building and
when they enter your building. It can also allow you the power to remotely monitor access to your
business.
#1 Track Movement Through Your Business
One of the biggest benefits of installing an access controls system to regulate who has access to your
business is that you will be able to monitor who enters your building and when they do so. There are
two different ways you can set up your access control system to store this information, either ... Show

You will be able to access this information from any web browser that allows you access to the
system. The information should be stored on a main controller with the company that manages you
access control system.
Server Based
If you choose to go with a server based information system, all of the entry and exit data collected
from your access points will be stored on a local server. This could be a server located on site or a
remotely located server. With server based storage, only an individual who has access to your server
will be able to access the entry and exit information for your business.
If security is a concern for you, a server based system to store information about who accesses your
building is the way to go. If having access to that information regardless of where you are at is
important to you, a browser based information storage system may be best.
#2 Control Who When People Have Access to Your Business
Installing an access control system to your external and internal doors within your business will allow
you to control who has access to your business and when they have

and the overall wellbeing of the people living in that time were and how education was virtually
nonexistent. The book then shifts to the second section, entitled The Shattering, this section describes
the intellectual movements and activities, such as the Protestant Reformation, that ended up destroying
the Medieval Mindset and replacing it with a mindset that questions everything about authority. The

The Church was beginning to replace imperial
Rome when Rome fell in A.D. 476 and shortly after in A.D. 493 the Franks were the first people as a
nation to accept Christ and be baptized.
As the Church gained traction, one of the key concepts that they wanted to expunge was the influence
of pagan religions. St. Augustine wrote The City of God about the actions of the Roman people on the
very topic that the people because of their sins had gotten themselves into their own mess. Another
way that the Church helped to expunge pagan influences was to build churches and cathedrals on
pagan temples. They also came up with religious feasts to replace pagan feasts that would be going on
at the same time. Another problem that had arisen for the Holy See was the struggle with royalty. An
example, is when Gregory VII excommunicated Emperor Henry IV and he was only absolved by
spending three days and nights prostrate outside the papal castle. A great wound to the Vatican that
was self inflicted was when Pope Clement V moved the papacy to France where it remained for nearly
sixty years before Pope Gregory XI returned it to Rome. This altercation led to a problem, for the next
nearly forty years, there were two Vicars of Christ, one in Rome and an antipope in France.
As earlier stated mostly all of the people at this time were illiterate so they never really knew what
was going on since they were unable to read or write. There was also no concept of

activities to enhance understanding and usage. Nowadays, CALL and CALT have developed from
traditional ones to web based ones. There are several new features frequently used in CALL and
CALT, including hypertext, hypermedia and multimedia. Hypertext refers to links among textual
items, often indicated by key words set in underlined blue type. Hypermedia refers to similar links as
those used in hypertext, but instead of simply linking text to text, hypermedia involves linking various
media such as sound, images, animation and/or video. Multimedia refers to many of the same ideas
associated with hypermedia, but hypermedia might only use of two types of media (e.g. text+sound or

Physical Properties Of A Compound
The melting point is just one of the physical properties of a compound. The melting point helps
identify a compound and the purity of a compound. If a compound is truly pure, it ll have a higher
melting point than a compound that is mixed with another substance. Also if a substance is truly pure,
it ll have a narrow melting point range. In order to identify a compound, small amount of the
compound is heated in a device that has thermometer, a heating bath and a magnifying glass. The
second the compound or substance starts to melt, that s the first point. The second point is when the
compound or substance is completely melted. These two points makeup the melting point. The
purpose of the experiment is to determine the melting point of different ... Show more content on

According to Drexel, Trans Cinnamic Acid has a melting point 133 134. The melting points that were
obtained in the lab were very close to the true melting points of each substance. The color ofeach
substance did not change however the state of the substances changed. The substances went from a
solid to a liquid and then back to a solid. The process of using a digimelt to melt different substances
and finding their melting points is a useful technique because it allows chemists to identify substances
and if that substance is pure. This technique could be used when a chemist discovers a compound. The
chemist could use the digimelt to melt the compound and to identify the melting point. The chemist
could thencompare the melting of the compound to a list of compounds. This helps the chemist to
identifywhat compound he found. One way to improve this lab would be to test all the equipment and
make sure it works beforeusing it. By testing all the equipment, like the digimelt, this would prevent
any mistakes or errors in the data. A way to test the digimelt would be to melt a known substance and
see if the melting point obtained from the digimelt matches the melting from a trusted chemical
source.Another way to improve this lab would be to use a new spatula every time a

General Accepted Accounting Principals Essay
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Health care organizations financial statements are the key
tools to show the economic stability of an organization and guide leadership in making informed
decisions. The Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is basic assumptions, and
principles of accounting to determine the financial position of an organization. These principles offer
consistency across health care organizations, and businesses maintaining track of the organizations
fiscal returns, detailed balance, and outstanding debt. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles help

Cost Principle The accounting for purchases of a health care organization must be at cost price and not
the fair market value at time of purchase. An example, if an asset is purchases, entering the price paid
for the purchases is considering be base for all future accounting.
Object Evidence Principle This principle states accounting will be on the basis of objective evidence.
If different people are looking at the evidence all will arrive at the same conclusion for the transaction.
This means objective accounting entries on facts and not personal feelings, or opinions. The source
document for transactions is usually the best objective evidence available (Finkler Ward, 2006).
Materiality Principle Materiality principle allows accountants to use generally accepted principles for
determining immaterial cost in a budget. An auditor tracking individual staples or gem clips is a
mundane task; materiality permits certain transactions to be left out of the organizations financial
statement because of the insignificance (Cleverly Cameron, 2007).
Consistency Principle Health care organizations using the consistency principle refers to the state of
accounting rules, concepts, principles, and practices consistently. When consistency is there, the
results and stability of information from one period to the next auditors can easily make comparisons.

  • 2. The Civil Rights Movement And The Federal Government... I took another visit to the Library of Congress, located in Washington D.C. I went to James Madison building. My purpose at the library was to research The Civil Rights Movement and the Federal Government Records of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Police Community Relations in Urban Areas, 1954 1966 and obtain information from the Newspaper and Current Periodical reading room. I was really disappointed that the librarian directed to me to ProQuest periodical. There was no other access of information. When I enter the manuscript room, it was the first time for me using microfilm and I was watch intensely by the staff when I was using the reel machine. The microfilms are located in the Madison building. The records focused on Black Americans, civil rights, Commission on civil Rights, police, race relations, racial discrimination, and urban area. The records were generated to disclose the tense relationships between police enforcement and the black communities they served in. This collection included reports on police brutality, dishonest arrests, and police failure to act for protection, race relations, and police training programs in cities including Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Baltimore. I focused on the city of Baltimore. Some of the materials were written or received by Roy Littlejohn, he was the staff attorney for the Commission on Civil Rights. Some of the other materials were issued by local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Shakespeare s Use of Aristotle s Guidelines to Tragedy in... Throughout time, the tragedy has been seen as the most emotionally pleasing form of drama, because of its ability to bring the viewer into the drama and feel for the characters, especially the tragic hero. This analysis of tragedy was formed by the Greek philosopher Aristotle, and also noted in his Poetics (guidelines to drama). As a playwright, Shakespeare used Aristotle s guidelines to tragedy when writing Othello. The play that was created revolved around the tragic hero, Othello, whose tragic flaw transformed him from a nobleman, into a destructive creature, which would inevitably bring him to his downfall. Third, was thought, which was used to show the characters motives, either through soliloquy or direct conversation. After those came diction, song and spectacle, which were used to contribute to the unity of the play s plot. By using these guidelines, Shakespeare created one of his greatest Aristotelian tragedies. This is because he applied the Poetics guidelines to complex plot, the tragic hero, and the establishment of pity, fear, and catharsis of the audience s emotions. The complex plot follows Othello and his transformation from nobleman to monster through the exploitation of his tragic flaw. As the plot moves from exposition, complication, challenge, conflict, climax, and finally to dénouement, Othello goes through a recognition scene which leads to a reversal in his fortune and his scene of suffering. As noted by Aristotle, a complex plot must be able to move organically from beginning to end while still staying universal and probable. Also, as the plot moves on there should be a clear movement from exposition to denomount. Finally, the tragedy should have a recognition scene, a reversal of fortune, as well as a scene of suffering. In Othello, the organic movement of the play is achieved by following Othello s transformation. At the beginning of the drama, the audience finds out about the marriage between Othello ... • 8. Computer Networks And The Internet Why me? The simple fact of having an unprotected computer network, law enforcement not up to par, and a challenge is all a hacker needs to cash in; sometimes personal, but for the most part, just business as usual. Hackers once admired in the 1960 s are now dangerous and a threat to big box corporations, small businesses, and personal computer users. Data breaches are the most lucrative business for hackers still. An example of data breaching is Computer Memory Racking or also known as memory consumption or memory corruption. Basically, an adversary gains unauthorized access to a computer or computer s network through a network s hole to deploy malicious code and gain access to the volatile data stored in memory. Hackers are constantly probing corporations to acquire system information. Buffer overflows and OS stack overflow are commonly caused by hackers when the buffer is not flushed regularly. A hacker causes a Denial of Service (DoS) which are too many access requests at once so the webserver gets confused and crashes opening the doors for the hacker. Once they are in the damage can be endless. From web server over stacking (deployed script to make changes to settings) to sequel injections, executed code typed beyond the password, e.g. I_like_toast and 1:1;select*from SYS.Objects. • 11. The World Of The Korean War Before the Korean War took place, a significant historical event that led to the partitioning of Korea into two is the later part of the Japanese occupation, where Japan colonized Korea during World War II. Korea was under Japanese control for 35 long years, from 1910 to 1945. The nation was able to gain its independence when Japan surrendered on August 15 in 1945. The main factor which aided Korea towards freedom from Japan was the Allies of World War II, also known as the United Nations today. The Allies included 20 nations, with the United States, the Soviet Union, China, and the United Kingdom being the larger entities. The Allies joined forces against the Axis powers, which mainly comprised Germany, Italy and Japan, who were trying to protect nations against communism (promoted by the Soviet Union and China) and plutocratic capitalism (promoted by the United States). On August 6, 1945, the United States launched its first atomic bomb attack on Japan in the city of Hiroshima, causing devastating effects to the city. On August 9, 1945, the United States launched their second atomic bomb attack on Japan in another city, Nagasaki, while the Soviet Union invaded Manchukuo, which was under Japanese control at that time. The series of events left Japan in a state of shock and bewilderment that they had no choice but to surrender to the Allied forces. • 12. Compare And Contrast Walter And Mama In A Raisin In The Sun In the book A Raisin in the Sun by Larraine Hansberry, Walter and Mama are the two most influential characters to the plot. Walter is obnoxious and always thinks about himself while Mama is forceful and very strict. They both play a major role in the story. Both have changed or impacted the plot and characters feelings and or thoughts. Without them in the story it would be very different. Walter is a very important character and impacts everybody by his actions and what he says and does. Walter changes a lot throughout the story. He begins to become very hostile and short tempered towards his family. He starts to lose all his family values and only starts to worry and care about the check that is coming in. He says, did it come? will somebody please listen to me today!!! This shows that he wants everyone to listen to his idea about what he wants to do with the money. While he wants this, he shows no care or regard to anyone else s ideas or thoughts about it. The quotes show how selfish and rude he is, also it shows how he has lost of all his family s values because he won t even listen to anybody else. Walter has changed his whole family. He has started so much conflict with all his family. His family at this rate will be better off without him. You ain t looked at it yet and you don t aim to speak on that again? You ain t looked at it and you have decided well, you tell that to my boy tonight when you put him to sleep on the living room couch. This just shows how much he wants to have HER money for himself because he is selfish and a shallow person. He is the reason why the family is tearing apart. Also, Walters actions show how edgy and inpatient he is. (Violently flinging the coat after her) He starts to get very violent, he flings things, slams doors, yells at mama, and starts to get verbally abusive towards her. Although the Union cavalry was well manned and well equipped, the improper placement and deficient senior leadership caused the union to have an unsuccessful and detrimental part in the Atlanta Campaign. U.S. General Sherman halted the offensive while he resupplied his army and repaired the railroad from Kingston to Acworth. This was a good move on Sherman s part. The success or failure of an organisation can often be attributed to the sum of their parts such as staff, profit, products, strategy, technology, environment, structure and culture. These parts or factors can directly contribute to the strengths or weaknesses of an organisation and they are all interrelated. This essay will examine organisational structure and organisational culture and the influence mechanistic and organic structures have on organisational culture. Communication in this model often travels vertically from teams to senior management rather than across all functional groups. This can cause a duplication of efforts, where multiple teams are trying to achieve the same objective or doing the same work, a lack of cooperation between groups where they only focus in what is in their own best interests and the change of focus from the business goals to the individual groups goals (Banner Gagne, 1995). Divisional and conglomerate designs have some similarities. Both are based on separate businesses operating under the larger framework of a parent company or organisation, however, in a divisional structure the businesses are directly related to each other whereas with a conglomerate structure the businesses are unrelated separate entities. Both structures are based on product departmentalisation, which is where each business is responsible for producing their own service or goods, responsible for profits and losses and have their own independent general managers (Davidson et al, 2009).
