The end of the eighteenth century was a dangerous time to be a child living in England; common folk
everywhere were struggling to get by. Parents could not afford to feed and care for their children, so
mothers and fathers had no choice but to sell their sons and daughters. Unfortunately, the career that
children were forced into was chimney sweeping, which had a terrifyingly high mortality rate. The
poem, The Chimney Sweeper , written by William Blake, tells the heartbreaking story of a child who
is sold into chimney sweeping at a young age and leads a devastating life. After reading Blake s poem
about the sweepers, one may begin to wonder how it was possible for children to be treated so poorly,

cardiovascular abnormalities. About 10% of the patients present with intracranial aneurysms and 8%

efficiency for decolorization of direct brown and direct yellow dyes. Decolorization percentage of
immobilized P. citrinopileatus in Direct Brown and Direct yellow reach to 95% and 90% respectively
after 8 days at 28oC. Peroxidase activity for (1 KGy) irradiated P. citrinopileatus is more than

The first drawback is we do not know the names of the plants. If we knew the names of the plants or at
least what families they are in we could gain a lot more from our research. Secondly, how we counted
the moss may lead to incorrect results. We counted the plants by number but originally we just wrote
down, for example, one patch of moss. We then had to go back and assign it a number based on the
percent of area we thought the moss was covering. Thirdly, our sample sizes were small. If they were
larger we would have had a bigger picture of the biodiversity in the area. For example, in Monteverde
if we had a larger sample size it may have reached to where the plants were denser farther off the trail.

human bias. I chose my spots and many things influenced where I chose such as quantity of plants and

This paper represents the yen and yang criticisms of Ian McEwen s novel Saturday and discusses its
strengths and weaknesses. Critics rave about this novel and others don t share the same enthusiasm.
McEwan s novel is astonishing and deserves gratitude from its readers according to The Literary
Analyst. Agreeably when the plot is told from a third party it is a fantastic story of the complexity of
one man s life and the madness that happens to him in one 24 hour period. The novel loses its appeal
with the blistered use of detail. McEwan attempts to dazzle his readers with his descriptive ability. He

The story feels lethargic due to the overuse of details and background. Bit by bit the character portrait
is built up (The Literary Analyst) The plot moves along too slow unable to keep the reader focused on

Scenes are written too jam packed with description. When Perowne comes home and is preparing
dinner the reader is again bombarded. McEwan goes off on a detour his control of his material is too
