in the US. Children suffering from asthma encounter a recurrent cough, wheezing, shortness of breath
and decrease response to their medication. These children often are unable to participate in physical
activities, have increased absenteeism from school, are withdrawn and have decreased self confidence.
It is important that families are educated on the appropriate preventions and treatments for asthma in
order to prevent mortality. There are a number of contributing factors in the increase of childhood
asthma; for instance, sensitization of allergens, cultural beliefs, and environmental factors, gas and
diesel emissions due to the high volume of traffic from the interstates in the surrounding areas.
Furthermore, behavioral choices made by parents and other adults are added factors in the increase of

The environmental challenge facing society that I have chosen to discuss is Acid Rain. The effects of
acid rain were first noticed 150 years ago in Britain, and to this day are still an issue. The pH scale
allows us to decide whether a substance is acidic or basic. If the substance has a pH of 7, it is neutral,
below seven it is acidic, or above seven it is basic. Precipitation normally has a pH of 5.6, slightly
acidic due to the CO2 in the atmosphere mixing with the rainwater to create a weak carbonic acid.
Human induced pollution also plays a role in acid rain by releasing harmful gases such as sulphur
dioxide and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere. This is mostly done by the burning of fossil fuels and

Formally, classified natural satellites or moons include 176 planetary satellites orbiting six of the eight
planets. Of the inner planets, Mercury and Venus have no natural satellites; Earth has one large natural

The second day of the show, On October 11th, 2017. I had an opportunity of seeing one of Tennessee
Williams s playwright, A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Stephen Thomas. Performed excellently
at Tarrant County College Northeast Playhouse. The purpose of my visit was to learn about all aspects
of theatre, from basic acting skills to technical designing. Also, this was my first time attended to
watch a live performance by the college student.
A Streetcar Named Desire is the story about of a girl named Blanche DuBois, travels from the town of
Laurel to live with her sister in the New Orleans French Quarter. Her sister, Stella live in a two room
flat with her brother in law, Stanley Kowalski. She finds Stanley vulgar, boisterous, and dominant
husband. However, Stanley does not like her presence and thinks that Blanche comes with a secret.
Unfortunately, they do not like each other. Stanley feels that while she is staying with them, Blanche
tries to convince Stella that he is loud and rough as common. He wants Blanche to leave, so he gives
her a bus ticket back to Laurel for her birthday. Later on, Stanley gossips to Stella that he has gathered
on Blanche, telling her about what did Blanche do in the past. At the end of the play, he brutally rapes
Blanche, while Stella is at the hospital with their first child. Blanche becomes psychotic crisis by
destroying her both physically and mentally from what Stanley did to her. Blanche tells the truth about
Stanley s assault to Stella, but her sister disbelieves her. Blanche has suffered a complete mental
breakdown and is to be committed to a mental hospital.
The genre of the play is the domestic drama that mentions the concept of human desire in the form of
an adult content and situations. A technique such as physical acting, suspense, and the violence are
used throughout the play. All these techniques need to be applied successfully in order to create the
atmosphere intended. By using the technique of suspense, it builds up a state of mental insecurity,
