A Timeless Approach To Health Essay
A Timeless Approach to Health Mental health is a topic that seems to have been hidden away in
private, out of sight but still in the minds of those affected. It is not discussed much in schools,
places of business, or even in many homes, likely because it is stigmatized. Additionally, those who
suffer from mental illness may feel uncomfortable sharing their feelings and experiences with a
doctor or counselor, so they face their mental battles alone. The topic of mental health interests me
because I know so many individuals who personally struggle with mental illness, either treated with
therapy and medication or, more commonly, untreated and experiencing what I have mentioned
above. I am specifically interested in the psychological disorders... Show more content on

The problem is not an insufficient quantity of medical treatment the problem is that these
medications are not optimal for treating depression or anxiety, so even those who receive
treatment continue to struggle with symptoms of mental illness, some getting worse rather than
better. This problem is the focus of my research paper. I propose that it is not enough to present
people with antidepressants. Treatments for depression or anxiety should be thorough and work
on the root of these disorders. Of course, these are both very complex disorders and it can be
difficult to identify the root or roots. However, one significant link to mental illness that needs to
be addressed is lifestyle. So, an alternative treatment (a possible solution) for depression and
anxiety would be a change of lifestyle. It seems so basic and obvious that people need to eat a
healthy diet, exercise regularly, maintain a healthy social life, practice mindfulness, and absorb
enough sunlight everyday, but the United States and other parts of the developed world are not
living by these standards. Our lifestyle is very different from the one described here, and this
creates both physical and mental health

Development Of Novel Chemotherapy Drug Delivery Systems
Abstract:
In order to improve current chemotherapeutic treatments, the development of novel chemotherapy
drug delivery systems that increase the local effect of therapeutic drugs while at the same time
reduce toxicity and side effects for patients is needed. Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) can be
successfully used for photocontrolled targeting, bioimaging and chemotherapy. When illuminated
with near infrared (NIR) light, the UCNPs can specifically release the chemotherapeutic drug in the
malignant tumor cells. Based on the phototargeting approach, the UCNPs can serve as the vehicle
to selectively deliver chemotherapeutic drugs and possibly reducing the adverse effects from
chemotherapy.
Introduction:
Cancer is a group of diseases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients suffer from poor quality of life while in treatment and even after the treatment has
finished. Therefore, there is a need to develop new cancer therapeutics that are efficient, by
minimizing toxicity and increase the local effective effect of chemotherapy drugs, at reasonable
cost and provide patients with a high quality of life. In the past two decades, the use of
nanoparticles, such as liposomes and polymeric nanoparticles, to deliver drugs into the human body
has revolutionized the medical field. The advantages of nanoparticle drug delivery system include
the drug s longer circulation half life, reduced side effects and improved pharmacokinetics.5 As a
result, the emergence of a new field of medicine called nanomedicine is being vastly researched and
studied to advance clinical therapeutics. Currently, nanomedicine field involve the use of
nanotechnology for drug delivery vehicle, biosensoring, bioimaging and tissue engineering. For
example, photodynamic therapy destroys the cancerous tissue by changing a drug s chemistry with
the use of an external energy source, usually a

Patrick Henry Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death
Leeanne N. Weeks

American Revolution Leader: Patrick Henry
Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death this quote was said by Patrick Henry in March 23, 1775.
When Patrick Henry was only 15 years old, he had a business with his father. The business they
had didn t last that long. Then he married Sarah Shelton in 1754. He also studied to be a lawyer.
In 1757 he and his wife lost their farm house to a fire.
Patrick Henry is an American Revolution hero who played an important role during the
Revolutionary War because he was a big leader. He was a Virginialawyer and a politician.
He was an outspoken opponent in the stamp act and in the Townshend act by authority of
England. Patrick was an amazing public speaker and a big figure of the American Revolution, he
was best known for his words Give me liberty or give me death
Henry was selected in 1774 to assign the continental congress in Philadelphia. There he met Sam
Adams and they together were excited to fire for the revolution war. During the moment henry
called the colonists to come together in their position to overcome the British. The next year,
henry gave his most known famous speech of his entire career. He was one of the people to
represent the Virginia Convention in March 1775. The group was thinking how they are going to
get things over with, with the crisis of Great Britain. He wanted everything to go buy smooth full
and end with peace.

Obesity Among African Americans Essay
Fried chicken, mash potatoes and collard greens mixed with fatback meat was my family s
favorite Sunday meal. Soul food, as it has been called, is valued by many African American
families. Given the worldwide obesity epidemic that appears to be affecting most ethnic groups,
there is an appreciation that the causes of obesity among African Americanfamilies and others must
lie in the fundamental aspects of the food supply (Capers, C et al. 2011). In my opinion, African
Americans in the United Sates are more likely to be obese because there is a large number of low
income families and many are uninsured. According to the Office of Minority Health, African
American women have the highest rates of being obese compared to other groups in... Show more

According to the World Health Organization some characteristics of obesity are abnormal or
excessive fat accumulation that may impair health, a body mass index over 30 which is the most
useful population level measure of obesity as it is the same for both sexes and for all ages of adults.
Policies and regulatory issues impacting obesity and access to care in the African American
population have been limited due to the lack of financial and governmental support. However,
public schools are required to have a mandatory physical activity class for students as an attempt
to increase children recreational activity. In addition, the talk of the nationwide health care was
an attempt to ensure the decrease of health disparities among the obese population. The
government has provided financial support to some low income families by a program called
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families also known as TANF or food stamps. According to
the Department of Social Services he TANF program provides eligible families with a monthly
cash payment to meet their basic needs. For a child to be eligible he must be: under age 18, or if
18, will graduate from high school before age 19, going to school regularly if he is between the
ages of five and 18, living with a parent or other relative and a U.S. citizen or an eligible
immigrant. The Code of Virginia, В§63.1, requires that the TANF program be administered in

Case Study on the Computer Hack at Stellar University
My report will be discussing and analyzing the computer attack that happened at Stellar University
(SU). In the first part, I will give a brief about that school and outline its servers. In the second part,
I will discuss and analyze the issues that happened in IT department and finally I will add solutions,
recommendation and end my report with conclusion and references.
Stellar University (SU) is an urban university that offers amazing majors such as engineering,
business, hypnotherapy and health. SU uses many tools such as Mainframe AS 400, Unix, and
Linux etc. Also, it has networking infrastructure such as wireless and VPN (Virtual Private
Network).
The issue is that SU did not have a qualified staff in IT who could operate and run the system
clearly. Moreover, they have low skills in training and low experience that prevented them of being
IT professionals which made them walking with no direction. On the other hand, criterions of IT
system were not clear due to the tight restriction and updating password policy. These reasons
created a shortage in protecting IT system.
The server was an IBM and the upgrade were made to that server in order to maximize space and
memory. Additionally, the IBM server warranty has been expired and it did not get renewed. The
school management at SU decided to relocate all servers to be at the computer center. The SU was
on a budget which made SU laying off some staff and reducing preventive maintenance.

Health Behavior Change Plan Essay
Behavior Change Plan Regina Martin This is a health behavioral change plan where I will
prioritize the Seven Dimensions of Wellness as they rank in my current life and includes a
rationale and details on why each category fell in particular spot when I rate it. The first
dimension of health on my list is physical but it has an emotional component. I rated this on the
top of my list because I have gained 26 pounds in about 3 years and 6 8 pounds have been in the
past 6 months. I bought new jeans before Christmas and they no longer fit me. To give context
to how I arrived here I had lost lots of weigh a few years ago but my brother died who is only 9

I researched this issue for an addictions project last semester and I ve come to understand that food
can actually activate our dopamine receptors. Furthermore, people often have emotional triggers for
overeating. I think as a future health educator it s really important to understand that distinction and
be aware of the emotional causes for overeating and binge eating disorder. I rated emotional as
number two on my list because it is emotions that are driving my overeating. It s possible it
should be number one considering since it s the underlying cause the physical behavior I want
to change. I am aware that it s mostly anxiety that is making me overeat or aggravation by
family. I ll have work on find ways to deal with these stressors. I recently changed my study area
due to lighting and other comfort issues. The biggest plus to where I was studying it that was
quiet and private. What the change of area made me notice is that most of the time, when I start to
have an uncomfortable emotion I literally whip open the refrigerator which is about four feet away
from where I am studying. Previously I had to walk up steps to get to the kitchen which

Similar Ideas of Fate in Oedipus the King, by Sophocles...
The play, Oedipus the King, by Sophocles, shares very similar ideas of fate as the movie Crash.
Fate is the idea that the outcome of events are out of our control, that your life is predetermined.
Both of these works use the idea that one cannot escape their fate, that it is set and nothing can
change it. However, in Oedipus the King, Oedipus believes that he can escape or change his fate
while the characters in Crash do not even try to. In the play, Oedipus the King, Oedipus believes
that he can control his fate, however, he realizes that he cannot so tries to escape it. Oedipus has a
tragic flaw, he does not see the truth and only believes what he wants to. When the blind prophet
Tiresias tells Oedipus that he is the cause of Thebes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This puts Daniel in a potentially dangerous situation that is out of his control. After finding his
shop in shambles, Farhad goes to Daniel s house to confront him and demands his money back.
While they are disputing, Daniel s young daughter runs out and jumps on him, shocking Farhad
and causing him to shoot. Luckily, the bullets are blanks and Daniel s daughter is completely
unharmed. This situation was out of Daniel s control, it was not his fault and he could do nothing
about Farhad, who had acted on his emotions and assumptions. This film tries to show that no
matter how hard people try to break their stereotypes, others will still judge them. Crash exposes
that racial stereotypes are still a big issue in the 21st century, which I agree with. People often do
follow stereotypes, even though they try not to. Also, people do not want to be judged according to
stereotypes but, they still participate in acts that feed them. An example of this from Crash is
Anthony s character. He complains about being stereotyped but then steals Jean s car, feeding a
typical African American stereotype. In the movie, Anthony encounters Cameron when attempting
to steal his car and fails because Cameron is not scared of him, just ashamed. Cameron says to
Anthony, Look at me. You embarrass me. You embarrass yourself. , which I can relate to my own
personal experiences. There are times when people represent my races poorly and embarrass many
others, including me. I

Elements That Make Up My Cultural Identity
There are many aspects that make up our culture that help convey our sense of identity. When I
think of culture, I think of how people live or act, but it is more than that. Some of the elements that
make up culture identity include race, religion, and even age. No one has the same cultural identity,
which makes each of us unique. Although having different cultures may cause conflict, it makes up
who we are. My cultural identity is mostly impacted by language, but that is only one of the
element that makes up who I am. Language makes up my culturebecause it is the way I

Odysseus Gods Relationship
Relationship between gods and human: An assessment of The Odysseus in the Homer s epic In the
ancient Greeks culture, the belief that was directed towards the goddesses and gods was strong,
and they influenced most of their daily operations. The activities that were conducted during their
daily endeavours were coined on the intervention of the gods and goddesses. With this strong faith
in gods, the Greeks focused on giving reverence, offering respect, and holding them with high
regards when they are facing issues. They established strong emotional and spiritual relationships
with these gods and goddesses, although there was no link between the two physically. When

The Greeks were involved in showing respect to the gods through offering sacrifices and
worshiping the gods with the intention of improving the relationship between the mortals and the
gods. As it is provided in Odysseus character, there has been development of mutual respect
between the gods and the mortals and the Odysseus is involved in positively showing the effects of
the gods. The Athena and Odysseus show a strong bond between them, and this is not a mere
mortal aspect rather it is an extensive assessment of the god human relationship. Odysseus
constantly worships Athena, and this has created a platform for influencing the decision making
process and constantly build their bond. In return, she has been helpful to Odysseus in various
issues including begging Zeus on her behalf to help her in finding his home. It shows that there is
always a connection between the gods and the mortal. Changing the norms of the activities and
influencing the family s decision can be affluent in achieving the desired comfort and improving the

Frame Narrative
The way in which a story is organized or complied adds to the ideas, themes, and character of the
story. A frame narrative is a way in which a story is told were a main story leads reader into other
stories within. Essentially a frame narrative is a story within another story. As in the story One
Thousand and One Night the frame narrative is used to tell many different stories within the main
story. Although the stories in One Thousand and One Nightsare separate from the main story the
stories are still relative to the main idea. In One Thousand and One Night the separate stories

King Shahrayar is persuaded by the frame narrative, or the stories with One Thousand and One
Nights, to revaluate his morals and unjust killing of dozens of innocent women. Just as in One
Thousand and One Nights the Canterbury tales also uses a frame narrative to add to the central
ideas and message of the story. The Canterbury tales examines a group of people who are making
a pilgrimage to Canterbury. The journey is quite a long one and it is suggested by the host that
they each tell stories to pass the time of their long journey. So each member of the group begins
to tell a separate story which is indicative of the frame narrative. Although, each stories differ
from one another they all add in some way to the overall story of Canterbury Tales. Some stories
such as the Night s Tale are about great valor and chivalry, while other are less serious and more
satirical. Here this quote is expressing what the travelers will do along their journey to pass the
time as said by the host: Each one of you, to make our journey short, Shall tell two stories, as we

for such a long journey it is nice that they get to know one another more personally. This also adds

which I have faced that most international student will experience. For all those who are planning

Speaking English as a second language in front of others can prove to be anxiety provoking and
when an international student develops this kind of fear they limit their ability to participate in
discussions of class and develop a social relationship. For entry of international student in
universities would normally consist of a TOEFL or IELTS score. However, even when the entry
level requirement is fulfilled by students, they are not acquainted with the terminology that is
technical for a subject area specialist. Difficult time is faced by international students while reading
because of lack of familiarity with English vocabulary, a weak understanding of complex syntax,
lack of background knowledge in a subject and lack of equivalent words between English and their
native language (Mertin, 2013). Criteria of language which is the only thing achieved by the
students, studying in English, especially at the level of master s, can result stressful and onerous.

A Prostitute A Servant And A Latina In Humanities Chapter...
Living as a latina in the United States of America is tough. Racial stereotypes follow minorities
everywhere they go, even in the classroom. The average American has a typical image of what a
professor should look like. What should they look like? These perceived images should not exist
because professors could come from all around the world. In A Prostitute, A servant, and a

portray the issue amongst her classroom. As she mentions in her essay, That is why my position
within both U.S. society and academia is an important component of this discussion, a position
that is described something like this: I am a women. A woman who is of color. A woman of color
who is a Puerto Rican (which means I am viewed as a latina). And those markers mean something at

The Life Of Thomas Jefferson s Most Trusted Servants

his renown family and unique skills, became one of Thomas Jefferson s most trusted servants. Son
of Elizabeth Hemings, a half African, half European slave, and John Wayles, Jefferson s Father in
Law, James was a half brother of Martha Jefferson. James and his direct siblings, although
considered to be black based on the ethnicity of their mother, were actually only one fourth African,

Addressed by Annette Gordon Reed and primary sources directly from Jefferson, James Hemings
return to America can be supported as the smartest path for his future. While James Hemings was
deciding whether to stay in France as a free man, conflict emerged throughout the country. James
stay in France spanned from 1784 to 1789, and at the very end of his time there, on July 14th,
1789, tensions between the rich, upper class government and the bourgeoisie erupted into conflict
when the Bastille, a nearly vacant prison , was raided. Economic crisis had caused famine among
lower class citizens over previous years, and the general populace had grown weary of the
incompetence of the government. While the government s, specifically King Louis XVI s, plan to
restore the economy involved heavy increases in taxes, the bourgeoisie believed that the best
solution was, To abolish internal customs duties and establish a national market. To abolish guild
and government restrictions on entry into particular trades and businesses and establish freedom of

Hate In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a name synonymous with the most illustrious and well recognised plays of
all time. Written by easily the most remarkable playwright of the English language, William
Shakespeare, this tragedy portrays the dire narrative of two star crossed lovers from feuding
families whom are engrossed in a taboo love. Despite often playing as a drama of love, Romeo and
Juliet is truly a play that details the complex and bilateral relationship between love and hate. This
relationship without doubt shows that in this context, neither love nor hate could exist without the
other. Romeo and Juliet often allude to the reciprocal relationship between love and hate, it could
even be said that the mutual hate their two families share further intensifies their love. This clash of
the two powerful emotions of love and hate ultimately leads to the triumph of love over hate....

love and hate is in the play. A key point in the tragedy is where Juliet states rather bluntly; My only
love sprung from my only hate (I, v, 138). This candid statement from Juliet exhibits that even she
recognizes the relationship between love and hate. In speaking these words, Juliet apprehends this
relationship, and is aware of the fact that without Romeo (a person of the very house she is
supposed to hate), she would not be in love. Simply put, this quote shows that Juliet understands the
relationship between love and hate. It could even be said that the common hate between the two

Stigma Is An Interesting Concept In Social Psychology Because
Stigma is an interesting concept in social psychology because it not only studies the experience of
marginalized people (who already do not receive enough attention in science) but dissects the inner
workings of power imbalances, internal dynamics, and interpersonal conflicts. Arguably the most
important foundational text in stigma research, across all disciplines, is Goffman s Notes on the
Management of Spoiled Identity. Goffman s perspective and definition of stigma has been revised
many times since its publication, but it remains one of the most influential works in the field.
Goffman suggests that stigma is an attribute which sets an individual apart from others in a
negative way, which leads to social outcasting or unacceptability. He... Show more content on

Socially, stigmatized individuals are usually met with opposition from normal people there is a
severe lack of acceptance and alienation that result from stigma, and with these also comes
discrimination. Goffman notes that even within the first few minutes of a conversation, a normal
person can find fault in stigmatized individuals and entirely shift the tone of the encounter.
However, Goffman makes sure to note that stigmatization isn t always a bad thing. Outgroup
perceptions and prejudice are definitely detrimental, but stigmatized individuals are often able
to form an identity around their stigma or at least positively integrate it into their self concept.
As a result, stigmatized people may be able to find support in people with a similar stigma, and
can also accept their blemishes. Some, Goffman says, insist that their socially undesirable
attributes are actually a blessing in disguise as it has changed their world view or personality for
the better. Other scholars have taken Goffman s work, which is truly a foundational stigma text,
and dissected and revised his conceptualization. For the purpose of this paper, four articles by
Link and Phelen (2001), Major, Kaiser and McCoy (2003), Chen and Bargh (1997), and Scott

because they all build on one another and consistently link back to prior concepts. Each text is able

The Equal Opportunity Refinance Initiative
Foreclosure is a dangerous issue that has swept our nation in the last few years. Americans are
losing their homes due to jobs being lost, home values falling, and banks lending out more money
than homeowners can afford. Despite the multitude of issues that arise out of foreclosure, the main
problem at hand can be almost solely traced to the economy. The recession has put many people
out of work, made taking out loans more difficult, and has caused a nationwide panic. Therefore, to
completely solve the foreclosureproblem, it is necessary to trace the issue back to its roots, being
the economy. This would take fifty pages to discuss, so this paper seeks to solve one aspect of
foreclosure. Refinancing is an option that has become... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since this paper only touches upon the basics of this plan, it will only explain three priority
groups (keeping in mind that various subgroups can be created for a broader variety of situations).
The highest priority group (Group A) must meet the requirements that follow. Homes must have
been bought before January 1st, 2009, and the loans must have been financed by Fannie Mae or
Freddie Mac. Borrowers must be current on their payments, and must not have missed a payment
for one year before requesting the refinance. The group with the second highest priority (Group B)
could have purchased their home either before or after January 1st, 2009. However, if the loan was
taken out after the date, residents must wait one year (with no missed payments) to apply. Those
who qualify for Group B must not have any delinquencies yet, but they can have missed two
payments at the most. Therefore, while they do not have to be current on their payments, if they
exceed missing two payments, resulting in a delinquency, they must be eligible for Group C.
This lower priority group must have a delinquency, before or after the bank starts the process of
foreclosure. This group would need to be behind on their payments, missing at least three. While
all of these groups are eligible for a refinance, Group A will be able to refinance for the greatest
volume of customers at the highest loan

God Bless The Usa Analysis
The artifact that expresses my view of America is the song, God Bless the USA written and sung
by Lee Greenwood. Although written in the 1980s, this song rose to popularity after the 9/11
attack on the World Trade Center. God Bless the USA is a motivating song that I believe
reassured the American people and gave them hope after such a traumatic incident. The musical
qualities of God Bless the USA help to construct Greenwood s vision of America. The song begins
with clear piano and guitar notes, which creates a slow and reflective feel. However, as the song
continues, the music builds up until it is proud symphony of violins. This transition shows the
moral strength of the American people. As the music gets closer to the chorus, there... Show more

In God Bless the USA, Greenwood mentions that he won t forget the men who died [in the
army], and who gave [freedom] to me. In Greenwood s perspective, fighting for the USA is
idealistic and in line with the American values. However, in Born in the USA, Springsteen notes
that the military is sent off in a foreign land to go kill the yellow man. In this statement,
Springsteen is highly unfavorable to having American soldiers go and kill in the name of what is
right. He believes that Americans are violent. While God Bless the USA is uses a rhythmic drum
beat to display American pride, Born in the USA uses those same music qualities as irony.
Springsteen s mesh of anthemic music and disheartening lyrics conveys his message about the

How Does Flannery O Connor Use Realism
Finding a New Way to Use Realism Authors in America have been using realism since the 19th
century. They are going against the literacy normalcies of romantic views for stories. American
authors take a realistic approach to their story lines by using irony, placing heroes in realistic
situations, or not having a hero in their story. Realismis often used in the form of which common
people are portrayed; average people or poor people are usually the focus. Flannery O Connor
also used realism in her short stories yet she a much different style to express realism. O Connor
was born in 1925 in the deep southern city of Savannah, GA. She grew up a single child and her
father died when she was still young. O Connor grew up well off and lived in a historical house.
She learned about late 19th century southern culture while she was among the wealthy that she
used later in her literature (Baym 436). These childhood events lead O Connor to base a lot of
her writing on the Deep South and took a very grotesque approach to her stories. A Good Man is
Hard to Find was written by O Connor, published in 1953, and is one of her most famous works.

Bourdieu s Theory Of Cultural Development
Pierre Bourdieu s cultural reproduction has transformed as well as influenced the literature field,
following Alice Sullivan s statement on the successful results of Bourdieu s theory: Bourdieu s
theory of cultural reproduction has been highly influential, and has generated a great deal of
literature, both theoretical and empirical (144). According to Bourdieu s theory, based on his book
Distinction: A Social Critique of the Judgment of Taste, makes the declaration that higher levels of
education will result in perceiving and comprehending the world around them much differently than
a person with a much lower educational level. Bourdieu s theory attributes this claim to the terms:
cultural capital, cultural arbitrary and habitus, which are developed through education and
rationalize how the higher social classes are made up of these different forms of capital. Also, this
critical analysis of these different forms of capitals has been one of Bourdieu s major contributions
to the study of educational processes: The concept of cultural capital is one of Pierre Bourdieus
major contributions to the study and critical analysis of educational processes and the ways in
which they are associated with socially unequal outcomes (Moore 445). Given the success of
Bourdieu s theory in both literature and education, Bourdieu s theory of cultural reproductioncan be

Overview Of The Superannuation Industry
Overview of the superannuation Industry The introduction of superannuation funds is to provide
retirement and death benefits to its members as the increase in Australia s ageing population has

directed towards pensions and enhance the living standards of retired Australians (ALRC, 2013).

ever since the year of 2009, up to 2015 the growth exceeds the annual gross domestic product.
The trends seen in recent year indicates that by lowering the cost, members benefit from greater
values, which leads to a lower fee being passed onto its members. The main objective of the
Australian superannuation industry is to come up with solutions that mainly focus the needs of
a retired individual. However, this objective is restricted as the industry is meeting the demands
of individual with limited capacity (KPMG,2015). Members of Australian Super have access to

Due to the market; bargains were more important to consumers. Fifty six of Costco warehouses
exceeded $200 million in sales in fiscal 2010, and two of these units each did more than $300
million. This rate of revenue is highly attributable to the strong entrepreneurial culture that
encourages its employees and management s teams to be creative and contribute new ideas to
allow the company to constantly evolve and improve. It has been well publicized that Costco
rewards and compensates its employees well. It is a well oiled machine that reciprocates its success
with its customers and employees.
Industry Overview
The US warehouse club and superstore industry includes about 20 companies; however the major
competitors that Costco faces are Sam s Club (owned by Wal Mart), BJ s Wholesale Club, and
Meijer. The club superstore industry is so competitive that these four companies alone hold over
90 percent of sales. These superstores are able to offer competitive pricing because as large
companies they can offer a wide selection of products and have purchasing, distribution, marketing,
and financing advantages. Due to low margins, the profitability of these individual superstore
companies depends on high volume sales and efficient operations. This is where Costco has been
able to succeed and set itself aside from the competitors.

Essay 1 Reflective Essay Final

The surprizing thing that I recognized when I studied at college is the way people greet each
other around the world. After asking someone about name, we usually inquire about where he or
she is from. I believe that we ask, not just to indentify the location of where our acquaintances live,
but because we realize that their answers tell more about them. My answer for the question where
are you from? is always Vietnam, my home country. For every Vietnamese like me, home is an
important and meaningful part of our life. It becomes a vital part in our culture. The more I live far
away from my house, the more I know how it is important to me. Moreover, I acknowledge that
not only our homes define who we are but we also define our homes.
In the essay Peeling bananas , Wendy Lee uses reflection to support her argument that it is hard to
live in two different cultures. By using her own experiences and comparing the life in two cultures,
she shows us her difficulties of living in America. In the same way, my essay reflects on the various
perspectives of people from Vietnam and America about the meaning of home; and then I apply
compare and contrast method in my essay to point out how cultures affect our opinion about home.
I still remember a year ago, in the cold winter day when I first came to America; I and my sister
looked so tiny in thick, coarse sweaters. In the middle of

It is often debated whether or not the Space Race was necessary. People have viewed it as a

Earth, and that they should not explore space. Those people only saw the disadvantages that it had

Americans can use the knowledge obtained during the Space Race for countless purposes including

Oskar Schindler was as you would call it, the protagonist of the film. He was the man looking to

As you are introduced to Schindler you see him picking out each part of his outfit. The suit, tie,
shoes and pants. Right down to the pin and how much money was in his pocket. This came off

only cared about his personal gain. He was not faithful to his wife and had many mistresses. His

The Science of Soccer
Soccer is my favorite sport. Soccer is a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a
circle shaped ball. This game is played on a rectangle shaped field with a goal at each end. The
object of the game is to score by using any part of the body (besides arms and hands) to get the
soccer ball into the opposing goal. There are so many things that go into making a soccer game
function. Science, math, and many other things help this game run properly. Weight and massplay a
big part in soccer. Weight is a forcethat is always directed towards the center of the earth. The
weight of an average MLS (major league soccer) ball is about one pound. If the ball weighs more
than it s supposed to, then it will be harder to kick. If a player is weighs more, than their kick is
going to be a lot harder but, they will be slower than the lighter kids.
A soccer ball is hollow and inflated with high pressure air. The weight of the ball is distributed
on single point the outside. Most of us think of the weight a collected and acting through a single
point called the center of gravity. The center of gravity is the average location of the weight of an
object. The center of gravity on a soccer ball is located in the exact middle of the ball. When the
ball is in flight the ball rotates around the center of gravity.
Friction prevents the ball from rolling on forever. The ball rubs against the ground which causes
resistance. That resistance slows the ball down. Eventually, no matter

Analysis Of The Movie Return Streak And Winning A...
Manassas is an inner city high school in North Memphis Tennessee with a poorly funned football
program that holds a 110 year losing streak. Each individual athlete faces internal and external
challenges of growing up in a poor and dangerous neighborhood with little or no parental guidance
at all. Coach Bill Courtney devotes the majority of his time to Manassas s football program and
also steps in as a father figure to many of these boys and unites the team. In return, this causes the
team to perform better on the field, thus, breaking Manassas s losing streak and winning a playoff
game. In this documentary there was a mental skill that stood out the most, in particular, group
dynamics/ cohesion. Throughout the team s football season coach Courtney helps the boys feel
closer with their fellow teammates, thus, resulting in each individual to look out for one another.
With that said, in the movie the team worked together to achieve a common goal which was to win
a playoff game while also working on individual interpersonal relationships with other teammates.
With that in mind, different elements of task and social cohesion are emphasized in this
documentary. The theoretical development of group dynamics/ cohesion was exhibited through
O.C. Brown. To illustrate, in the beginning of the film O.C. Brown was a short tempered kid who
only looked out for himself, however, throughout this documentary O.C. Brown begins to improve

A Research Study On School Psychology
I have always pictured myself working with children, for as long as I can remember. Thus, for the
proposed career group project (part 1), my group presented information on the child life specialist
profession. However, after much thought, I have decided to change my emphasis from child life to
child development and pursue a career as a school psychologist, once I graduate. School psychology
is a wide ranging practice and health service provider concerned with offering an assortment of
psychological diagnosis, assessments, and interventions, et cetera to all learners (i.e. children,
youth and families) (American Psychological Association (APA), (2015). The educational
requirements, as described by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), consists
of the completion of a 60 graduate semester specialist level program in school psychology plus a
1200 hour internship, for a majority of states (2015). Therefore, upon receiving my bachelor s
degree in child and family development, I plan to attend a graduate program that meets the NASP
standards for approval, and as stated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2015), clinical, counseling,
and school psychologists earn an annual median of $74,030.
What Are the Personal Philosophy, Values, and Beliefs? I feel as if school psychology is a great
fit for me. It will allow me to provide counseling and support for those students facing emotional
distress and/or difficulties that may affect their academic performance.

Abstract
This paper explores the plays, movies, books, and awards that have been accomplished around the
world over Arthur Miller s The Crucible. The Crucible is a fictionalized story written by Arthur
Miller about the Salem witch trials that took place in Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692
through 1693. From France to the broadway theaters in New York the The Crucible appears
conveying its message to all who witness this piece of work. The Crucible is still one of Arthur
Miller s most produced plays today.

Broadway Arthur Miller s has appeared on Broadway numerous times. The first original production
opened at Martin Beck Theatre, January 22, 1953 in Viking (New York, NY) (Arthur,2007).
Reviewer Brooks Atkinson, of the New York Times, noted how the cast members were dressed in
accurately reproduced costumes from early Massachusetts (Atkinson, 1953). Atkinson also stated
Boris Aronson s scenic design was stripped bare and merciless, creating gaunt, pitiless sets of rude
buildings that came to characterize the stage described in most editions of the text today. Atkinson
noted that Arthur Kennedy as John Proctor and Beatrice Straight as Elizabeth offered clear and full
performances, highlighted by the moments the two spent alone together on stage (Atkinson, 1953).
Then a Broadway revival directed by Richard Eyre and presented at the Virginia Theater (later
renamed the August Wilson Theater), opening on March 7, 2002, nearly fifty years later
(Rabkin,2002). The set design is crucial for Richard Eyre to get right because The Crucible uses the
surrounds to give off certain tones. The large wooden sets that isolate the characters and seem
claustrophobic, cutting out the brief visages of the countryside. The lighting design similarly cuts
through the set, forcefully reminding the audience that this town would allow little mercy for its
inhabitants.

Media Reaction Of Political Issues On Immigration
Media Reaction to Political Issues on Immigration

Introduction
Political issues relating to immigration have long been a concern since migrating into the United
States became so called illegal in the late 1880s. In reality, immigration was barely regulated until
the early 1920s when congress passed a Quota Law limiting the amount of people allowed to enter
the country annually. Just how immigrants stormed into the United States then, we continue to
struggle today in enforcing immigration laws and procedures, protecting our borders from
undocumented personnel and, most recent, terrorist threats. The following will describe the current
political issues regarding immigration and will focus on a few aspects of the problems the U.S is
attempting to adapt and overcome.
Media Reaction to Political Issues on Immigration In recent weeks, the United States has been
swamped with illegal aliens attempting to enter the country illegally from Mexico, South and
Central America, through South Texas, the high majority being unaccompanied alien children. The
United Nations report found that the main reasons children made the dangerous trips to the border
were to join relatives in the United States, they wanted to flee violence in their countries and flee
abuse in the home ( Undocumented immigrants to leave El Paso while cases are pending El Paso
Times ). In 2012, President Obama enacted the Deferred

Description of an Off-Campus Event
Stepping outside of one s own comfort zone is not an always an easy accomplishment. It can be
very uncomfortable to do something that would never usually be a part of your normal everyday
life, especially when it involves your religion and beliefs. On the flipside of all the lack of
comfort, doing something you usually would not do has many great benefits, such as learning new
ideas and facts, meeting new people, and overall broadening your knowledge of the world. As a
non denominational Christian, I decided to challenge myself by attending a religious event that I
would never typically attend. On Sunday, March 30th, I attended a Mass service at a Roman
Catholic Church; specifically St. Gabriel Parish in Norwood, Pennsylvania with a Catholic friend
of mine that I was visiting for the weekend. This was the first time I ever attended an actual
Sunday morning service that was Catholic, and I found it to be quite the interesting experience,
even though it was not as unusual for me as I had originally presumed it would be. I grew up in
Norwood right near St. Gabriel, and passed it every day to go to my good friend s home that was
a football field length away from the churches front doors, but I have never attended a Mass there,

Timothy Webster And The American Civil War
In his career, Timothy Webster served as a New York City policeman in the earliest days of the
department, worked as a private detective in the most famous private detective agency ever, acted
as a Union spy during the American Civil War, and generally lived a life of adventure and daring.
There is no telling what Webster would have accomplished had his life not been cut short.
Timothy WebsterJr. was born on March 22, 1822, in Newhaven, Sussex County, England, the
fourth of eleven children born to Timothy and Frances Webster. Two of the children died in infancy
and one at the age of two. The Websters immigrated to the United States in 1830 and settled in
Princeton, New Jersey. Timothy was eight.
For a time Webster s life was typical enough. At nineteen he married twenty three year old
Charlotte Sprowls. A year later their first child, a son, was born. They would have four children in
all.
Sometime in the 1840s they moved to New York City and Timothy, now with a family to support,
embarked on a career in law enforcement, joining the city s then fledgling police force.
Before 1845, the force was simply too small for the large metropolis. The Municipal Police Act,
signed into law in 1845, set up a larger department, based on London s department. It laid the
foundation for the modern New York Police Department.
In 1853, Webster was assigned to work at the Crystal Palace exhibition, which became known as
America s first world s fair. It was while he was policing

Othello the Outsider
Shakespeare portrays Venice as incredibly advanced for its time. This is seen especially though
its democratic justice system, as we are shown that in Act One everybody has a voice regardless
of their colour or sex. The fact that Othello has obtained the high position of general within the
army suggests that his chances have by no means been restricted by the colour of his skin. Also
the fact that he is treated with the utmost respect from the Duke, the highest authority in Venice,
shows that the colour of ones skin is not seen as a disadvantage in Venetian society. We are aware
of its reputation as a very sexual city through the booming sex trade and it is viewed as a very
cosmopolitan city due to its importance as a trading port.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shakespeare used the comments of Iago, Brabantio and Roderigo at the beginning of Act One,
so that we had preconceived ideas of Othello and were prepared to observe him as different ,
however as we learn about his true personality we feel terrible about forming such prejudiced
opinions and therefore we place Othello high up on a pedestal. This is Shakespeare s intention
for his Tragedy, as this provides the central character, Othello, with a further distance to fall,
adding significance to his disintegration later on in the play. We learn that the Duke, the highest
authority in Venice, holds the utmost respect for Othello proving that the words of Iago,
Brabantio and Roderigo do not reflect the opinion of all Venetians: Valiant Othello . We now
begin to unravel that these particular characters are all biased against Othello, due to personal
problems. Brabantio s discovery of Othello s marriage to his daughter sparks a hatred within him
and his references to piracy and witchcraft exposes a racist element in his character: O thou foul
thief! Where hast thou stowed my daughter? Damned as thou art, thou hast enchanted her .
Although he was happy for Othello to dine at his house with his daughter many times before, the
intimacy of marriage proves a step too far for Brabantio and aided by Iago s manipulation, he turns
against

We will not waver; we will not tire; we will not falter, and we will not raise taxes, which would

Environmental Scarcity And Food Insecurity
A.
According to the FAO estimation, there are 840 million undernourished people in the world, and
95% of them are from developing countries.
B.
Environmental scarcity and food insecurity are critical factors that intensify the issue of
malnutrition among people in most developing countries.
C.
d. Evidence health issue:
protein energy malnutrition (PEM) refers to a form of malnutrition where there is lack of calories
and protein intake. There are two kinds of PEM: the nutritional edema and starvation. They affect
children the most because children have less protein intake than adults. PEM is a fairly common
issue across the world and accounts for 45% of children s death in the global level, which can be
attributed to insufficient food intake.
Second hair illness is also a common deadly form of malnutrition of which kwashiorkor and
marasmus are extreme manifestation.
Marshall Island becomes a dietary colony of US. US provides cheap and unhealthy food to locals
from Marshall Island, which results in their malnutrition with high rate of obesity and high
possibility of getting cardiovascular disease.
Factors:
Globalization [looks like] improving the economies of poor countries (Guest), yet it accelerates in
inequity and weakens nations ability to achieve food security in local communities. More

Essay On Madame Defarge
The French common people were squashed by the wealthy leading to an unjust social system. As
the common Frenchmen s oppression continued, their anger festered eventually leading to the great
revolt known as the French Revolution. The book Tale of Two Cities written by Charles Dickens, is
about the poverty stricken French peasants as they rise up to fight against the rich and haughty
nobleman. The peasants had grown irritated by the haughty regime of the noblemen. While the
nobleman made up only two percent of the French population, they controlled the majority of the
wealth in France. This caused the common people to obtain minimal amounts of money throughout
their lives. The scarce amount of currency lead the Third Estate to a world of hunger and death,
however, the wealthy were oblivious to their pain.
After decades of suffering, the peasants grew uneasy and eventually protested their unfair treatment,
and they thought they were spreading justice as they were truly contaminating France with
retribution. The common people of France were tired of being mistreated by the noblemen, they

Madame Defarge had been knitting this list for what seems like an eternity, Vengeance and

retribution is a common theme. The LORD God said to the serpent, Because you have done this,
Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you
will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life; (English Standard Version, Genesis 3.14)

The Holocaust, And Art Spiegelman s Night And Maus
The word Holocaust refers to the mass murder of 6 million European Jews by the German Nazi
regime during World War II. It began in 1933 and ended in 1945. The ruler of Germany during
this time was Adolf Hitler. He and the Nazis put the Jew in concentration camps, where thousands
were killed everyday. This was one of the worst if not the worst genocides in history. Many books
have been written to document survivors testimony of this horrific event. Elie Wieselshares his
story and Art Spiegelman shares his father s story in the books Night and Maus. Comparisons can
be drawn between Maus and Night through the author s purpose for writing , the survivor s
experiences, and the author s perspective.
Elie Wiesel s reason for writing Night was personal, but it was also to keep the world aware of
the damage that was caused. He is a messenger to mankind , the nobel peace committee had said
as they gave him the prize. Elie doesn t want history to repeat itself. The best way to do that is
for the world to know what happened and learn from their mistakes. The personal half of his
reason was that Elie wanted to protect his child. My son changed me. Once you bring a life into
this world, you must protect it by changing the world. These were Elie Wiesel s own words. One
of Art Spiegelman s reasons was almost the same. He was eager to share his father s story with
the world. At the beginning of Maus I, Art describes how he asked his father over and over to tell
him his story. This

  • 2. A Timeless Approach To Health Essay A Timeless Approach to Health Mental health is a topic that seems to have been hidden away in private, out of sight but still in the minds of those affected. It is not discussed much in schools, places of business, or even in many homes, likely because it is stigmatized. Additionally, those who suffer from mental illness may feel uncomfortable sharing their feelings and experiences with a doctor or counselor, so they face their mental battles alone. The topic of mental health interests me because I know so many individuals who personally struggle with mental illness, either treated with therapy and medication or, more commonly, untreated and experiencing what I have mentioned above. I am specifically interested in the psychological disorders... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The problem is not an insufficient quantity of medical treatment the problem is that these medications are not optimal for treating depression or anxiety, so even those who receive treatment continue to struggle with symptoms of mental illness, some getting worse rather than better. This problem is the focus of my research paper. I propose that it is not enough to present people with antidepressants. Treatments for depression or anxiety should be thorough and work on the root of these disorders. Of course, these are both very complex disorders and it can be difficult to identify the root or roots. However, one significant link to mental illness that needs to be addressed is lifestyle. So, an alternative treatment (a possible solution) for depression and anxiety would be a change of lifestyle. It seems so basic and obvious that people need to eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, maintain a healthy social life, practice mindfulness, and absorb enough sunlight everyday, but the United States and other parts of the developed world are not living by these standards. Our lifestyle is very different from the one described here, and this creates both physical and mental health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Development Of Novel Chemotherapy Drug Delivery Systems Abstract: In order to improve current chemotherapeutic treatments, the development of novel chemotherapy drug delivery systems that increase the local effect of therapeutic drugs while at the same time reduce toxicity and side effects for patients is needed. Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) can be successfully used for photocontrolled targeting, bioimaging and chemotherapy. When illuminated with near infrared (NIR) light, the UCNPs can specifically release the chemotherapeutic drug in the malignant tumor cells. Based on the phototargeting approach, the UCNPs can serve as the vehicle to selectively deliver chemotherapeutic drugs and possibly reducing the adverse effects from chemotherapy. Introduction: Cancer is a group of diseases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Patients suffer from poor quality of life while in treatment and even after the treatment has finished. Therefore, there is a need to develop new cancer therapeutics that are efficient, by minimizing toxicity and increase the local effective effect of chemotherapy drugs, at reasonable cost and provide patients with a high quality of life. In the past two decades, the use of nanoparticles, such as liposomes and polymeric nanoparticles, to deliver drugs into the human body has revolutionized the medical field. The advantages of nanoparticle drug delivery system include the drug s longer circulation half life, reduced side effects and improved pharmacokinetics.5 As a result, the emergence of a new field of medicine called nanomedicine is being vastly researched and studied to advance clinical therapeutics. Soul food, as it has been called, is valued by many African American families. Given the worldwide obesity epidemic that appears to be affecting most ethnic groups, there is an appreciation that the causes of obesity among African Americanfamilies and others must lie in the fundamental aspects of the food supply (Capers, C et al. 2011). Stellar University (SU) is an urban university that offers amazing majors such as engineering, business, hypnotherapy and health. SU uses many tools such as Mainframe AS 400, Unix, and Linux etc. Also, it has networking infrastructure such as wireless and VPN (Virtual Private Network). The issue is that SU did not have a qualified staff in IT who could operate and run the system clearly. • 8. Similar Ideas of Fate in Oedipus the King, by Sophocles... The play, Oedipus the King, by Sophocles, shares very similar ideas of fate as the movie Crash. Fate is the idea that the outcome of events are out of our control, that your life is predetermined. This situation was out of Daniel s control, it was not his fault and he could do nothing about Farhad, who had acted on his emotions and assumptions. This film tries to show that no matter how hard people try to break their stereotypes, others will still judge them. Crash exposes that racial stereotypes are still a big issue in the 21st century, which I agree with. People often do follow stereotypes, even though they try not to. Also, people do not want to be judged according to stereotypes but, they still participate in acts that feed them. An example of this from Crash is Anthony s character. He complains about being stereotyped but then steals Jean s car, feeding a typical African American stereotype. In the movie, Anthony encounters Cameron when attempting to steal his car and fails because Cameron is not scared of him, just ashamed. Cameron says to Anthony, Look at me. You embarrass me. You embarrass yourself. , which I can relate to my own personal experiences. There are times when people represent my races poorly and embarrass many others, including me. I ... The Canterbury tales examines a group of people who are making a pilgrimage to Canterbury. Despite often playing as a drama of love, Romeo and Juliet is truly a play that details the complex and bilateral relationship between love and hate. This relationship without doubt shows that in this context, neither love nor hate could exist without the other. Stigma Is An Interesting Concept In Social Psychology Because Stigma is an interesting concept in social psychology because it not only studies the experience of marginalized people (who already do not receive enough attention in science) but dissects the inner workings of power imbalances, internal dynamics, and interpersonal conflicts. Arguably the most important foundational text in stigma research, across all disciplines, is Goffman s Notes on the Management of Spoiled Identity. Goffman s perspective and definition of stigma has been revised many times since its publication, but it remains one of the most influential works in the field. However, Goffman makes sure to note that stigmatization isn t always a bad thing. Outgroup perceptions and prejudice are definitely detrimental, but stigmatized individuals are often able to form an identity around their stigma or at least positively integrate it into their self concept. As a result, stigmatized people may be able to find support in people with a similar stigma, and can also accept their blemishes. Some, Goffman says, insist that their socially undesirable attributes are actually a blessing in disguise as it has changed their world view or personality for the better. Other scholars have taken Goffman s work, which is truly a foundational stigma text, and dissected and revised his conceptualization. • 30. Analysis Of Wendy Lee s Peeling Bananas Son Tra Do English 1A: Tuesday/Thursday 2pm 4pm Professor Haviland Essay 1 Reflective Essay Final Home The surprizing thing that I recognized when I studied at college is the way people greet each other around the world. After asking someone about name, we usually inquire about where he or she is from. I believe that we ask, not just to indentify the location of where our acquaintances live, but because we realize that their answers tell more about them. My answer for the question where are you from? is always Vietnam, my home country. For every Vietnamese like me, home is an important and meaningful part of our life. It becomes a vital part in our culture. The more I live far away from my house, the more I know how it is important to me. Moreover, I acknowledge that not only our homes define who we are but we also define our homes. In the essay Peeling bananas , Wendy Lee uses reflection to support her argument that it is hard to live in two different cultures. By using her own experiences and comparing the life in two cultures, she shows us her difficulties of living in America. In the same way, my essay reflects on the various perspectives of people from Vietnam and America about the meaning of home; and then I apply compare and contrast method in my essay to point out how cultures affect our opinion about home. I still remember a year ago, in the cold winter day when I first came to America; I and my sister looked so tiny in thick, coarse sweaters. In the middle of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those people only saw the disadvantages that it had (Biddle, 2009). However, the Space Race was beneficial to humanity in various ways. He was the man looking to make a fortune off the German invasion in Poland, he could be considered as callous or greedy. As you are introduced to Schindler you see him picking out each part of his outfit. The suit, tie, shoes and pants. Right down to the pin and how much money was in his pocket. This came off to me as being a narcasist, or pompass. Schindler began as a womanizing and immoral man who only cared about his personal gain. He was not faithful to his wife and had many mistresses. However, the lack of change in his basic nature does not render him a one dimensional character; Goeth is a complicated and conflicted man, as well. He lusts after his Jewish maid, Helen Hirsch, and actor Ralph Fiennes skillfully conveys both the strength and ambivalence of this passion. Goeth attempts to seduce Helen, and when she shows no reaction, he turns on her, blames her for trying to tempt him, calls her names, and beats her savagely. Later, when Schindler wants to buy Helen to put her on his list, Goeth refuses. He tells Schindler he will never let her go, that he wants to bring her back to Vienna and grow old with her. • 33. The Science of Soccer Soccer is my favorite sport. Soccer is a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a circle shaped ball. This game is played on a rectangle shaped field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by using any part of the body (besides arms and hands) to get the soccer ball into the opposing goal. There are so many things that go into making a soccer game function. Science, math, and many other things help this game run properly. Weight and massplay a big part in soccer. Weight is a forcethat is always directed towards the center of the earth. The weight of an average MLS (major league soccer) ball is about one pound. If the ball weighs more than it s supposed to, then it will be harder to kick. If a player is weighs more, than their kick is going to be a lot harder but, they will be slower than the lighter kids. A soccer ball is hollow and inflated with high pressure air. The weight of the ball is distributed on single point the outside. Most of us think of the weight a collected and acting through a single point called the center of gravity. The center of gravity is the average location of the weight of an object. The center of gravity on a soccer ball is located in the exact middle of the ball. When the ball is in flight the ball rotates around the center of gravity. Friction prevents the ball from rolling on forever. The ball rubs against the ground which causes resistance. That resistance slows the ball down. Eventually, no matter ... Manassas is an inner city high school in North Memphis Tennessee with a poorly funned football program that holds a 110 year losing streak. Each individual athlete faces internal and external challenges of growing up in a poor and dangerous neighborhood with little or no parental guidance at all. Coach Bill Courtney devotes the majority of his time to Manassas s football program and also steps in as a father figure to many of these boys and unites the team. In return, this causes the team to perform better on the field, thus, breaking Manassas s losing streak and winning a playoff game. In this documentary there was a mental skill that stood out the most, in particular, group dynamics/ cohesion. Throughout the team s football season coach Courtney helps the boys feel closer with their fellow teammates, thus, resulting in each individual to look out for one another. With that said, in the movie the team worked together to achieve a common goal which was to win a playoff game while also working on individual interpersonal relationships with other teammates. With that in mind, different elements of task and social cohesion are emphasized in this documentary. The theoretical development of group dynamics/ cohesion was exhibited through O.C. Brown. Thus, for the proposed career group project (part 1), my group presented information on the child life specialist profession. However, after much thought, I have decided to change my emphasis from child life to child development and pursue a career as a school psychologist, once I graduate. School psychology is a wide ranging practice and health service provider concerned with offering an assortment of psychological diagnosis, assessments, and interventions, et cetera to all learners (i.e. children, youth and families) (American Psychological Association (APA), (2015). Broadway Arthur Miller s has appeared on Broadway numerous times. The first original production opened at Martin Beck Theatre, January 22, 1953 in Viking (New York, NY) (Arthur,2007). Reviewer Brooks Atkinson, of the New York Times, noted how the cast members were dressed in accurately reproduced costumes from early Massachusetts (Atkinson, 1953). Atkinson also stated Boris Aronson s scenic design was stripped bare and merciless, creating gaunt, pitiless sets of rude buildings that came to characterize the stage described in most editions of the text today. Atkinson noted that Arthur Kennedy as John Proctor and Beatrice Straight as Elizabeth offered clear and full performances, highlighted by the moments the two spent alone together on stage (Atkinson, 1953). Then a Broadway revival directed by Richard Eyre and presented at the Virginia Theater (later renamed the August Wilson Theater), opening on March 7, 2002, nearly fifty years later (Rabkin,2002). Media Reaction Of Political Issues On Immigration Media Reaction to Political Issues on Immigration Marvin Cornejo Instructor: Eddie Trevizo 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm Introduction Political issues relating to immigration have long been a concern since migrating into the United States became so called illegal in the late 1880s. In reality, immigration was barely regulated until the early 1920s when congress passed a Quota Law limiting the amount of people allowed to enter the country annually. Just how immigrants stormed into the United States then, we continue to struggle today in enforcing immigration laws and procedures, protecting our borders from undocumented personnel and, most recent, terrorist threats. The following will describe the current political issues regarding immigration and will focus on a few aspects of the problems the U.S is attempting to adapt and overcome. Media Reaction to Political Issues on Immigration In recent weeks, the United States has been swamped with illegal aliens attempting to enter the country illegally from Mexico, South and Central America, through South Texas, the high majority being unaccompanied alien children. The United Nations report found that the main reasons children made the dangerous trips to the border were to join relatives in the United States, they wanted to flee violence in their countries and flee abuse in the home ( Undocumented immigrants to leave El Paso while cases are pending El Paso Times ). It can be very uncomfortable to do something that would never usually be a part of your normal everyday life, especially when it involves your religion and beliefs. On the flipside of all the lack of comfort, doing something you usually would not do has many great benefits, such as learning new ideas and facts, meeting new people, and overall broadening your knowledge of the world. As a non denominational Christian, I decided to challenge myself by attending a religious event that I would never typically attend. On Sunday, March 30th, I attended a Mass service at a Roman Catholic Church; specifically St. Gabriel Parish in Norwood, Pennsylvania with a Catholic friend of mine that I was visiting for the weekend. This was the first time I ever attended an actual Sunday morning service that was Catholic, and I found it to be quite the interesting experience, even though it was not as unusual for me as I had originally presumed it would be. Also the fact that he is treated with the utmost respect from the Duke, the highest authority in Venice, shows that the colour of ones skin is not seen as a disadvantage in Venetian society.
