The Rose For Emily Comparison
The GreenLeaf, by Flannery O Connor, and The Rose for Emily, written by William Faulkner, are
different in many ways but also similar. The books both have similar literary devices being used, the
era the books were staged in, and how the authors portrayed southern ideals .
Flannery used smiles, such as when O Connor wrote, ..hand would dangle from her wrist like the head
of a broken lily. , where she compared the hand of Mrs.May and a broken lily s head. O Connor also
shown symbolism by the bull stabbing Mrs.GreenLeaf in the heart with it s horn, while earlier in the
story she stated Oh Jesus, stab me in the heart! , this shows Jesus stabbing her as she said in her
demand and symbolizes the crucifixion of Jesus. In the beginning of the story, O Connor displays
symbolism by comparing the bull to Christ. So once again Flannery O Connor is bringing religion into
play. O Connor is well known for utilizing being raised Catholic in the South in her books. Miss O
Connor puts a piece of herself in all her short stories. Mrs. May shares this Christian aspect that
Flannery establishes in all her stories. She conveys this by always stating how she is a lady of God,
even though the statements that she makes do not manifest that. Mrs.May claims this on multiple
occasions as if she is trying to convince herself how christianly she is. The Rose for Emily also
contains multiple literary devices; such as, symbolism, the aged house Emily lives in shows her
isolation, she does not leave that much, because she is hiding a terrible secret in the upstairs room.
Emily only wanted a home, she could call her own and grow old with someone she loved in, which
she thought was Home Barron but tragically he died and stored his body in the upstairs room, this is
the reason why her house was smelling so horrible. The townspeople had to sprinkle lime on her lawn
to terminate the smell. The reader is to think that she killed him because she loved him and wanted the
control that she never had, because her father abused her and he was all she had before he died, so she
wanted to always have Barron.
Both short stories were set to segregation times.Because slavery has ended, both O.T. and E.T. and

Pros And Cons Of Cord Blood Banking
country are now recommending collecting the cord blood. There s only two things that (you can)
potentially buy your new baby that are lifesaving: One is a good car seat and the other is cord blood.
Dr. Marra Francis, Ob/Gyn, CBR medical consultant gives his medical and personal opinion of
collecting cord blood.
Cord Blood banking also has it s limitations. Researchers have discovered that it is actually harder for
adults to be treated with cord blood than bone marrow. Children usually receive one unit of cord blood
because their small bodies only need a small amount. Adults however need more than the one unit of
blood that children receive because their bodies are so much bigger. According to eurostemcells.org

Sick children whose parents did bank their blood sometimes cannot be used (Moniger, 67). Many
blood banks do not tell parents that if their children may develop a cancer or a disease early on in their
life that they may not be able to use the cord blood because the blood may be diseased. This risk is
one of the main risks that deter parents from paying the cost for banking. Another negative aspect of
cord blood collection and banking is that if a mother who delivers twins would like to collect and store
her children s cord blood, she would not be able to. Both babies may have a different cord tissue type
and they may be mixed during the collection process making them virtually useless (The Truth about
Cord Blood Banking Lucie s list, n.d.) . Also, If the mother ever had cancer, she can not have her child

Credibility In William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Juliet, you don t know what you are about to do.This potion could change your life forever, or even

you and wanted to marry you. At first you didn t know if it was true love since it happened so
suddenly. Even though you knew it might not be true love you married him anyway, which was
irresponsible. Your marriage caused Tybalt s death, which lead to your dad wanting you to marry
Paris. Now, your wedding to Paris is tomorrow, and Romeo is in Mantua. Juliet, you can t drink this

Oil Pollution in the Oceans
Oil
By the time the first oceanographers began widespread testing, the Industrial Revolution was well
underway and changes had already occurred. Since the industrial revolution, pollution has become a
major problem in this world. Pollutants cause damage by interfering directly or indirectly with the
biochemical processes of an organism. Some pollution induced changes may be instantly lethal; other
changes may weaken an organism over weeks or months, alter the dynamics of the population of
which it is a part, or gradually unbalance the entire community. There are many forms of pollution,
which include natural and man made. Oil is a natural pollutant that is spread by seeping, dumping and
spills.
Oil is naturally in the marine environment. Oil seeps have been leaking large quantities of oil into the
ocean for millions of years.
Because of our growing dependence on petroleum products, offshore drilling, and street runoff
carrying waste oil from automobiles, the amount of oil entering the ocean has increased greatly in
recent years. Every year more than 908 million liters of used motor oil finds its way into the ocean.
Motor oil that has been used is more toxic than crude oil or new oil because it has developed
carcinogenic and metallic components from the heat and pressure within internal combustion engines.
Spills of crude oil are generally larger in volume and more frequent than spills of refined oil. Most
components of crude oil do not dissolve easily in water, but those

The Effects Of Corporal Punishment On Student Development...
The Aftermath of a Raised Hand What is the harm of a little physical reinforcement to ensure children
know how to properly act in society? This idea of physical reinforcement is also known as corporal
punishment and is still present today in the southern American states, including some Texas school
systems. Corporal punishment defined as punishment of a physical nature, such as caning, flogging, or
beating (Corporal punishment). Some administers believe benefits include fewer student outbursts and
a quiet environment; however, this logic fails to include the psychological implications of corporal
punishment on students. Negative effects of corporal punishment negate the benefits of classroom
management, as evidenced by the Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, if a student experiences punishment from a teacher/principal at school just to get even more
punishment from a parent for the same offense, then consequently the violence is what the child will
remember most vividly. The conditions to model this violent behavior includes attention, retention,
reproduction, and motivation which can be interpreted as the attention to the fact that violence is an
adult s response causes a child to model the behavior of the adults around them resulting in more
violence (Bandura, 288).
Subconsciously most adults tend to believe that the easiest way to deal with a disobedient child or
person is to cause physical harm. This answer of violence more times than not stems from the anger a
student caused in doing wrong. Justification for corporal punishment originates from the past and is
often the defense of pro corporal punishment advocates. Physical punishment can be traced back to
ancient times exemplified in Egypt, concerning the slaves that built the pyramids. These deep roots of
physical punishment are often referred to as a form of proof that it works. To use Egyptian violence as
an example is pushing the envelope of what corporal punishment is today, regardless the reaction to
that punishment is similar because human nature is present in both time periods. Punishment in and of
itself is not inherently detrimental to a person s development; however, in the case of school corporal
punishment the extra violent input

I Love Ricky Relationships
The relationships in I Love Lucy center on Lucy, Ricky, and her friendships with her landlords and
neighbors, Fred and Ethel. Lucy, often the one who instigates and devises the plans, drags her willing
friend Ethel through a maze of misguided schemes in hopes of becoming famous. Feeling challenged
by Ricky, who opposes her not so brilliant ideas, Lucy retaliates with trickery and indiscretions that
never work out as she planned. Adding to the comedy, when Ricky finds out what Lucy has done, he
is so mad that he begins to yell in Spanish and it is obvious that Lucy does not understand what he is

Sandra Bland s Injustice
Sandra Bland s Injustice When I first heard about Sandra Bland s story, my heart broke immediately.
No, I did not know her personally but I had the thought that, that could have been me. On July 13,
2015 social media, the news and the internet were booming with information about the death of
Sandra Bland. Sandra Bland was arrested on July 10, 2015 for a minor traffic violation in Hempstead,
Texas while she was on the way to accept her new job at Prairie View A M. Three days later Bland
was found hanged in her jail cell in Waller County, Texas. The county coroner classified her death as a
suicide, although many believe that she was murdered by one of the officers. Until this day we still
question, What really happened to Sandra Bland? This incident has affected not only me but others as
well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sandra had no cameras inside of her cell. A camera outside her cell recorded no movement in the
hallway for 90 minutes before guards found her dead. The autopsy states that she committed suicide
and that there was no sign of struggle. Sandra s family had no reason to believe that she would take
her own life. They claimed that she was well grounded and had always been. Sandra Bland was taking
a new job at Prairie View A M University in Texas. She had graduated from Prairie View A M in 2009
and was returning there as a student ambassador. So why would this woman who had just gotten a
great job offer take her own life? As time passed during her investigation, things just were not adding
up. The video from inside Waller County jail from the camera outside of her cell had been released.
The video that was released for the press and for the world to see did not show anyone going into
Sandra s cell. Now studies state that video was edited. It also went to the extent that when Sandra
Bland took her mug shot she was already dead. There was a before and after picture released that

It s surprising how much the swimsuit has changed for women over the years. In the past, quite a bit
of material was placed into the making of the swimsuit. Today, however, this is not the case. Women

This is something that Jessica Rey intends to change. It is her belief that dressing modestly actually

Symbolism In Wonder Woman
Armed with her bulletproof bracelets and magic lasso, Wonder Woman is a popular icon of female
strength in a universe of male superheroes. Going through her history however, shows that she depicts
a complicated heroine who is more than just a female comic book character. Wonder Woman was
created by William Moulton Marston, who was a psychologist and a lawyer, and believed that women
s capacity for love, nurture, and self sacrifice would make them better leaders than men. He created
Wonder Woman in order to gain his vision of female empowerment. While the character s feminism is
unquestionably open to judgement, her creator s desires were clear. Nevertheless, Wonder Woman has

Nevertheless, Wonder Woman s costume has got multiple meanings and symbolisms. In the 70s,
women activists had protested against the oppressive nature of sexist beauty and fashion standards.
Wonder Woman s bathing suit symbolized the objectification of women for male viewers at the Miss
America Pageant. The symbolic contrast between the Pageant and her costume has been apparent in
both comic books and the TV series. It has been referred by Wonder Woman as the garb of justice .
(Ball, 2016) While the outside world judges her for the way she dresses, Diana is surprised at their
reaction and has commented on it, both in the comics and in the animated series Justice League . She
promoted the feminist argument that women s modesty should not be reduced to standards of dress.
The Amazons did not see a need to cover a woman s body completely in order for them to be
respected. To judge a woman by the male defined sense of modesty seemed unreasonable. Lynda
Carter, the actress who played Wonder Woman in the CBS s series which lasted for three seasons,
quoted in the US magazine that she hated the way men looked at her in this role, and that she never
meant to be a sexual object for anyone but her husband. (Keating,

Becoming A Drummer Instrument Analysis
Learning to become a percussionist/drummer wasn t an easy task. Learning an instrument takes quite a
lot of interest in music, as well as many hours of practice to perfect it. Learning an instrument was
always the goal in mind. I started trying to play the guitar and that did not work out for me because i
could not keep interested, I tried piano which kept me sitting down with minimal movement for long
periods of time, and finally i tried drumming which gave me what i wasn t getting out of the other
instruments. Being able to move all 4 limbs to play in time with a song, and to enjoy playing the
instrument for extended periods of time without getting bored. It s really how you want to find the

This allows you to get a feel for the instrument before you actually have to listen t someone else
telling you how to play. This helped greatly while trying to pick up an instrument because it allows
you to see what level of play you have before you start to take a lesson. When you actually go into
your lessons for the first time you ll begin to learn things like how to create a basic beat or hold a
tempo. Learning this within the lesson gives confidence to the student by being able to play there first
beat with just one lesson. Learning this allows the student to go home and explore more ways to go at
the same beat and actually keep engaged without getting bored. After about a year I started to lack on
practicing and what really kept me from dropping the instrument was joining a band of 3 other kids
with the same musical talent, to practice and actually compose songs. Keeping your practice fun is
what makes you come back and want to keep playing, and for me, having the other 3 kids push me to
better myself is what really led to me pursuing my

Essay on Causes of Crime
Causes of Crime
For centuries, the one plague that human civilization faces is a disease that has no evident cure crime.
Before one can even try to find solutions for it, one must understand what a crime is and the nature of
crime. Crime itself is defined as any offence harmful against society. The nature of crime however
deals with the motives and causes of crime, which has no one clear cut explanation. There are several
different theories on the cause of crime such as heredity, gender and mental defects, but each one is
not substantial enough to explain crime and why it takes place. The theory on heredity as being the
source of crime is based on the idea that criminal activity is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First of all, the world in which we live in depends a lot on financial standards. This includes poverty,
social classes and the simple fact that money makes the world go around. However, it is not fair
enough to say all criminals come from a poor background, but evidently a majority of crime does exist
among the projects :
...postcode areas with high levels of poverty tended to have significantly higher levels of parenting
deficients such as childe neglect; there is a strong relationship between the level of child neglect/abuse
in a postcode area and the level of juvenile participation in crime in that area,
Obviously it is implicated that children raised in the ghetto are more susceptible to crime. Youth crime
is probably the most direct link since such poor living conditions, as mentioned above, can cause a
youth to find comfort in stealing or protection and affection from gangs. The quotation also mentions
neglect and abuse through childhood, which correlates with mental defect. Since it is an economical
situation in childhood that can lead to mental defect or youth crime itself, the theory of mental
imbalance is not really needed as its own branch. Also, organized crime and their leaders usually have
poor beginnings. These leaders usually don t have a

Stroke volume is the volume of blood the ventricle ejects per heartbeat, and factors such as preload,
afterload, and contractility of the heart all have implications in stroke volume2. Preload describes the
extent to which the myocardial fiber stretches at the end of diastole, and afterload is the resistance the
heart must overcome for the ventricle to eject blood2. Heart failure describes a syndrome in which the
patient has a dysfunctional heart incapable of sustaining an adequate cardiac output, and this
syndrome is responsible for a large portion of cardiovascular related deaths2. There are two types of
left ventricular dysfunction, one is systolic dysfunction which has implications in defective ventricular
ejection and contraction, and the other is diastolic dysfunction which has implications in dysfunctional
ventricular relaxation and filling2. Heart failure patients with systolic dysfunction have an ejection
fraction of less than 40%, and heart failure patients with diastolic dysfunction have an ejection
fraction of greater than 40%. In the case study, the patient has a left ventricular ejection fraction of
25% which means that he is suffering from systolic dysfunction. Consequences of left ventricular
systolic dysfunction include ischemic diseases, atrial fibrillation, increased ventricular response, and
myocardial infarctions2. Some of these symptoms were seen in the patient from the case study.

FOR INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM
3.1 INTRODUCTION The increase in the usage of the computer networks leads to the huge rise in the
threat and attacks. These attackers change, steal and destroy the valuable information and finally cause
complete damage to the computer system of the victim. They affect the performance of the computer
system through the misconfiguration activities and generation of software bugs from internal and
external networks. Irrespective of the existence of various security mechanism, attackers often attempt
to harm the computer system of the intended legitimate users. Hence, security is a main factor for the
efficient operation of the network in various applications such as healthcare monitoring, military
surveillance, etc. The most common security mechanisms are firewalls, antivirus programs and
Intrusion Detection System (IDS).
Firewalls (Fehr, 2013) are the commonly used mechanism for securing the corporate network or sub

attacks. The main function is sorting of the packets according to the allow/deny rules, based on the
header filed information. But the firewalls cannot ensure complete protection of an internal network,
since they are unable to stop the internal attacks. The computer viruses can cause damage to the

The Health Of A Health Care System
A health care system is a framework of interrelated, interacting, and interdependent descriptions of
human development in a given country, region, or community. This system of human development
functions as an organized measure to promote and provide treatment in which individuals reach their
highest attainable level of physical, mental, and social well being. All health care systems are
grounded in the concept that genetic and biological factors must be taken into account to understand
the problems and behaviors of a specific population. The interconnected factors that determine an
individual s health status includes personal features, social status, culture, environment, educational
attainment, health behaviors, childhood development, access to care, and government policy.
International collaboration of ideas on the progression of transnational health is greatly endorsed for
the benefit of complete global health care. Health care has social, governmental, and financial
implications that affect all members of the health care system and in countries within the Central
American region specially, citizens have fallen victim to health disparities that have resulted from long
term neglect of the underlying factors that perpetuate this issue. It is imperative for children to develop
with healthy nutrition during their first five years of life in order to sustain a healthy well being. When

Charlemagne And The Educational Contributions In The Dark...
Many had a bad viewpoint of the Dark ages, which is stated in the Cultures and Values book as: The
popular view of the Middle ages often referred to as the Dark Ages is that of a period of isolated and
ignorant people with little outside of their own immediate surroundings (P. 187). But through research
of the Dark ages I have come to realize that the time wasn t as bad as many people made it out to be.
There were many greats to make the Middle ages great; such as, Charlemagne. Also there were
numerous architectural works that were very beautiful and magnificent. Lastly there is evidence from
the epic poem Beowulf that tells a great story that was created in the Middle ages. In these times it
may have not been the most iconic for the area, but it definitely doesn t deserve the title of the Dark
ages. Charlemagne is seen as one of the greatest Roman Emperors throughout history and has
numerous accolades to show for it. But for this essay I am only going to speak about his work on the
educational advances during his reign as emperor. Stated by Cunningham and Reich, Charlemagne
opened his famous palace school at Aachen an institution that was a prime factor in initiating what has
been called the Carolingian Renaissance (p. 278). In his school he brought in numerous teachers and

exploited Congolese wealth for their own benefit and that of their superiors at home. (Nampewo). The

Factors That Have Been Used By Managers
Introduction
There are many theories and strategies that managers used to achieve business success. The strategy
research and practical models assumes that organizations are able to adapt to their environment.
However that is not necessarily the case as there are many examples of mainstream approach that has
been criticised for not taking into account how environments can also constrain individuals and
organisations. Mainstream approach such as organizational ecology and institutional theory is argued
for not considering on how environments are also one of the factors that constrain individual and
organisations which are also known as task environment. Task environment is the external

Examples of strategies that have been used that do not take environment into account are such as
organizational ecology and institutional theory.
Organizational ecology is the combination of organizational demography and the population ecology
of organization which focus on scientific analysis and study of interactions among organisms and their
environment. Organizational ecology utilizes the insights from biology, economics, and sociology, and
employs statistical analysis to try to understand the conditions under which organizations emerge,
grow, and die. This strategy analyse the effects of the environment on organization structure
population. According to the organizational ecology theory by (Dimaggio Powell, 1983) the strategy
research and practical models assume that organizations are able to adapt to their environment.
However this is not always true as the theory did not take account of economics problems such as
sunk costs caused by environmental changes such as the case of The Celler Kefauver Act of 1950 was
just such a shock, in that it opened horizontal and vertical mergers to federal scrutiny and encouraged
firms to spend excess capital on other kinds of acquisitions. Other factors such as not enough

Developmental Disabilities Research Paper
Developmental Disabilities
Developmental disabilities include several types of conditions due to impairment in physical, learning,
language, or behavior areas. These conditions usually begin during the developmental period, may
impact daily functioning, and most of the time last throughout a person s lifetime. Most developmental
disabilities begin before a baby is born, but can also happen after birth due to injury, infection, or other
risk factors. It is very important that the mother takes care of herself during her pregnancy to prevent
or reduce the chances for her baby developing a disability. All the different types of developmental
disabilities will be explained and discussed throughout the research paper.
As previously stated most developmental disabilities are caused by a mix of factors. These factors
include genetics, parental health and behaviors such as smoking and drinking during pregnancy,
complications during birth, or infections the mother might have during the pregnancy or the baby
might have very early in life. For some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

David depicts Leonidas and his men in the final moments before battle. At the center and focus of the
painting, David has placed Leonidas sitting on a rock. He seems to be thinking about the fate of
himself and his men. While Leonidas is looking stoically at the viewer, flurries of activity are
occurring around him. To Leonidas s right, sentinel trumpeters sound the call to arms increasing the
sense of the movement. Seated at his feet is his wife s brother Agis, awaiting orders. Behind Leonidas,
are three figures lifting up wreaths about two altars to Hercules and Aphrodite. Two very young
warriors are by Leonidas after refusing to carry a message so that they could stay and fight. A man

Assignment 1: Variance Analysis Report
In order to perform a variance analysis report Jenkins calculated the actual revenues and expenses and
found the difference which was $296,610 in profits. Then Jenkins did the same with budgeted values
and found the budgeted profits to be $606,350. The variance amount in turn is $309,960 under budget.
Also, the variance amount for revenues is $32,100. This number is favorable due to the fact that they
made more than what they had budgeted for. But on the contrary, the variance amount for expenses
was $342,060, which was unfavorable because they spent far more than what they had budgeted for.

The total expense variance was found to be $342,060. The extra hours worked created more costs than
the extra revenue acquired.
This puts the company in an awful position. The budget was not planned out very well. The price of
the billed labor decreased while more labor was done and less was billed for. This is an equation for
disaster as you can see. More planning must be taken when figuring out a budget and Software
Associates must stick strictly to the budget for reasons like this. Numbers can add up quickly.
Assignment 3: Expense Analysis: Spending and Volume Variance Analysis of Operating Expenses
Jenkins then needed to analyze the expense analysis. Many of the expenses for Software Associates
were not entirely fixed costs or variable costs. Rather, many of the expenses were a combination of
fixed and variable costs. Therefore, Jenkins evaluated the overhead of the company and prepared
Exhibit 3, which shows her judgment about each expenses degree of variability. Due to the increased
expenses per consultant, it is also important to study how costs change with the additional consultant.
In order to examine the relationship of overhead costs and number of consultants, Jenkins found the
amount of the budget, which was deemed variable, and which was deemed fixed. The budgeted
variable amount was obtained by multiplying each expense s budgeted amount by the percent in which
was expected to be variable. Then, she subtracted the budgeted

Technology Into Early Childhood Education
Matters to Consider when introducing Technology into Early Childhood Education
Introduction
Earlier research was more concerned with weather or not technology; including computers were, in
fact, beneficial to children s learning. Current research is concerned with how technology can be used
to support children s learning and development (Morrison, 2009). Acronyms like PC, CD, DVD, PDA,
DSL, eBay, and .com, are part of our professional vocabulary right alongside ECE... technology has
changed the way we teach children (Donohue, 2003). This author takes the position that technology is
beneficial to early childhood education. This paper will outline how technology is beneficial to early

It needs to be acknowledged that technology and media are social icons, and, most importantly,
children are active consumers of these products (Weddell, 2001). There is little wonder why
technology is being viewed as becoming, if not already, common place in the educational setting.
Zevenbergen (2010, p. 1) states, This generation has been immersed in technology since their
emergence into the world. Their homes have computer technology in all facets of gadgetry the remote
control for the television, the programmable microwave, the mobile phone computers, digital games
(such as Xbox, as well as those on the computer) .
Early childhood is a period of growth and rapid development. During this time, many children attend
preschool, where they have access to technology as a learning tool (Chen amp; Couse, 2010). There is
increasing interest and belief in the need to start this education [technology] at an earlier age, possibly
as soon as children begin formal schooling or even nursery school or kindergarten (Stables, 1997). In
a survey conducted by Flynn et, al. (2010), the results showed more than half of the educators
surveyed think that children should be introduced to technology between ages 3 and 4. Perhaps one
reason the findings would indicate this is due to the motivational

Nicole s Behavior In The Classroom
I enjoyed reading all of the cases that we were allowed to choose from. I found this story to be an
example of the role of us as educators. We are often detectives that must find solutions with our
students to help them learn, grow, and mature. I think that Ms. Johnson s idea to keep Nicole inside to
complete her work while recess was going on was an appropriate punishment for Nicole. Although
this punishment was not putting the disruptive behavior to a halt, it ultimately led to the reason behind
this behavior. I believe that is Ms. Johnson did not do a little more investigating into the reasons
behind Nicole s behavior that would have been a horrible injustice to not just Nicole, but the entire

talking. Ms. Johnson then took this opportunity to provide tools for Nicole to use that would help
remind her to remain on task and talk less in class. I really enjoyed this case study. Ms. Johnson
handled the punishments of Nicole in the ideal manner. Sitting out for part or all of her recess time
was not too harsh, nor was it not harsh enough. After different placements within the classroom did
not work, Ms. Johnson realized she needed to do more to figure out the problem. I like how Ms.

Why Recycling Is Important
Why is Recycling of CFLs Important?
Fluorescent bulbs emit dangerous gas and mercury into the environment when they break. Dumping
these bulbs in the trash or compactor often break these bulbs. In the end, these bulbs reach a landfill or
incinerator after thrown into a dumpster. Recycling is the safest and highly recommended method to
treat these bulbs instead of throwing into a dumpster. In this way, CFLs will not release any harmful
gas or mercury to the environment. Plus, the materials used for making these bulbs can be reused too.
In addition, all components of a fluorescent bulb can be easily recycled.
How to recycle the CFLs?
It is important to learn your state and local jurisdiction rules before opting for recycling. Based on

St Thomas Aquinas Influence On Religion
Have you ever wanted to pray before a test, but didn t know who to pray to? Saint Thomas Aquinas is
the patron saint of students and education. Throughout his life, he taught us various ways on how to
believe in what we believe in. He also taught us to chase our dreams, even when it is not approved by
the people around us. Saints are those who follow Christ and live their lives according to his
teachings. They are known as the standard operating models for human beings. Catholics, however,
also use the term narrowly to refer to special holy men and women who entered Heaven through
extraordinary lives of virtue. Because a saint is holy, they know both the bad news of sin and the good
news of salvation. Catholics honor the saints because they are known as model Christians and
practiced great virtue during their life on Earth. We can honor the saints by imitating their holy lives,
praying to them, and by showing respect for their relics and images. St. Thomas Aquinas was born in
1225 in Roccasecca, Italy. At the age of 4, Thomas was sent to the Abbey of ... Show more content on

Negro Spirituals
Negro Spirituals
Spirituals, a religious folk song of American origin, particularly associated with African American
Protestants of the southern United States. The African American spiritual, characterized by
syncopation, polyrhythmic structure, and the pentatonic scale of five whole tones, is, above all, a
deeply emotional song. Spirituals are really the most characteristic product of the race genius as yet in
America. But the very elements which make them uniquely expressive of the Negro make them at the
same time deeply representative of the soil that produced them. Spirituals were long thought to be the
only original folk music of the United States, and research into its origin centered mainly on the nature
and extent of its African ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From this point of view we have essentially four classes, the almost ritualistic prayer songs or pure
Spirituals, the freer and more unrestrained evangelical shouts or camp meeting songs, the folk ballads
so overlaid with the tradition of the Spirituals proper that their distinctive type quality has almost been
unnoticed until lately, and the work and labor songs of strictly significant character. Indeed, in the pure
Spirituals one can trace the broken fragments of an evangelical folk liturgy, with confession,
exhortation, mourning, conversion and love feast rejoicing as the general stages of a Protestant folk
mass. It is not a question of religious content or allusion, for the great majority of the Negro songs
have this more delicate question of caliber of feeling and type of folk use. The distinctiveness of the
Spirituals after all and their finest meaning resides in their musical elements. The characteristic beauty
of the folk song is harmonic, in distinction to the more purely rhythmic stress in the secular music of
the Negro, which is the basis of ragtime and jazz ; while regarding the one as the African component
in them, and the other as the modifying influence of the religious hymn.
In the United States the rhythmic element, though still dominant, has ceded measurably to the
melodic, the dance having given way to religious worship,

Social Policies In The Poor Law ( 1834.
Social policies the fundamental principles in which a society is based. Created to tackle poverty,
protect society addressing issues such as social welfare, justice and individual wellbeing. By 1834 the
government were under fierce criticism due to rising and mounting costs of looking after the poor, it
became clear a change was needed to fix problems in society. The government brought in an
amendment act titled the Poor Law (1834) which was designed to reduce the cost of looking after the
poor, passed by parliament this new law meant anyone seeking relief from poverty had to now enter a
workhouse (BBC Bitesize, 2017). In the early 1800 s the population was rapidly rising, an industrial
revolution, the development of towns and the first experience of modern unemployment caused
problems within British society (Spicker, 2017). There was suspicion from middle and upper class
taxpayers that their money encouraged the poor to be lazy and avoid work, Squandering money on
alcohol and tobacco. In addition, this encouraged the poor to have more children in which they could
not afford to support causing resentment and dividing society (Murray, 2013).
Prior to the Poor Law Amendment Act there was the Elizabethan Poor Law 1601 which was more
generous towards the poor. It was becoming impossible for the government to sustain this law due to
the growing costs. Statistics show that in 1802 the expenditure on poor relief was costing the
government £4,078,000, this figure continued to

Roles Of Women In Roman Women
In my civilization of Rome, women in society have the duty of taking care of the home and family.
Love has almost nothing to do with a Roman marriage. It exists so that wives may produce children to
be heirs to their father s property. Every man wants a son to care for them in old age and eventually
take over the estate, since there are no retirement homes or pension plans. Age fourteen is an average
age for a young girl to get married. Women have weak judgment, so they are prohibited from
attending, speaking in, or voting at political assemblies. They also cannot hold any governmental
position. Egypt treats its women very differently in comparison to my civilization. Egyptians believe
that joy and happiness are legitimate goals of life and take home and family very seriously. Women of
Egypt are almost completely equal to men in regards to the law. They can own property, borrow
money, sign contracts, and initiate divorce. The men and women here love children, and do not
conceive children just to produce an heir to property. We Romans have a practical attitude towards
religion. The upper elite classes hold the priesthood positions. There is no separation of church and
state. We consider ourselves highly religious and our practices and beliefs are our own. It is a part of
our daily lives, and each home has a household shrine in which families can pray to. We credit our
religious customs to its founder Numa Pompilius, the Sabine second second king of Rome. He

How Would Arcite Die In The Handmaid s Tale
1. In the anthology book, The Canterbury Tales (1478), Geoffrey Chaucer asserts that control and
rules do not always work out how they were envisioned to play out no matter how much someone tries
to enforce them. The author supports this claim by showing how Palamon and Arcite s knightly oath
to be loyal to each other did not work out how they thought when they both fell in love with the same
girl, Emily. The author purposely chooses to have Arcite die in the end just as he was about to win the
girl of his dreams in order to show that nothing can be perfect no matter how much someone tries as
disorder and entropy will always exist. The intended audience appears to be those who easily get upset

Narrative Essay On African American Culture
As Americans, we are privileged with diverse experiences. With this comes a perceived understanding

My grandfather was born and raised in the backwoods of Louisiana during a turbulent time for African
Americans. As a black man he lived in perpetual danger. Through race riots, physical exploitation, and
attempted rape, he has developed a much different opinion about gun reform than mine. So much so
that my mother carries the many of the same opinions. My great aunt, on my grandfather s side, was a
beautiful woman in her time. She was a tall 5 5 with long french hair that rested in little curls at the
ends. Her skin was a light coffee color much like mine. Her facial features displayed an
uncharacteristically delicate quality for her environment. she was a nexus for all types of attention,
good and bad. When she was at the ripe age of sixteen a man, almost twice her age arrived to the front
porch. He intended to inquire about a date. when the doorbell rang he crooked a sly smile, not

Ausiological Differences In Emotional Processing In...
Although there is a continuous debate, it is commonly assumed that emotion recognition difficulties
are present in individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (Uljarevic Hamilton, 2013). In this
review several neuroimaging (fMRI) and electrophysiological (EEG) papers of facial processing are
reviewed in attempt to explore neurological differences in emotional processing in people with ASD
(Table.1)
There are relatively few studies carried out measuring electrophysiology, specifically the event related
potentials (ERP) compare to fMRI studies, in the field of emotional processing. ERP is measuring
current cortical activity, while fMRI subcortical activity e.g. amygdala. The use of eye tracking
devices in fMRI studies allow to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Predominantly all fMRI studies show reduced activity in amygdala area, area associated with
emotional processing, including FER (Ashwin, Baron Cohen, Wheelwright, O Riordan Bullmore,
2007; Pelphrey, Morris, McCarthy LaBar, 2007) and neutral face processing (Hadjikhani, Joseph,
Snyder Tager Flusberg, 2007). Reviewed Corbett et al. 2009 findings are consistent with the majority,
while Dalton et al. 2005, same as Monk et al., 2010 did found higher activation in amygdala (see table
3). Interestingly, Monk et al. 2010, to insure participants attended to faces, did use an attention cueing
paradigm (Monk et al., 2010). Overall, evidence suggests that there is decreased automatic activation
of amygdala when emotional faces are processed, although there is a possibility of this be due to
diminished attention to faces (Harms, Martin Wallace, 2010).
Previously reported increase in attention load (Wang, Dapretto, Hariri, Sigman Bookheimer, 2004)
may help to explain the amount of variance in left amygdala activation between AS (52%) and control
group (3%) and right anterior fusiform, AS (56%) versus control group (22%) (Dalton et al., 2005).
Nevertheless, abnormalities in ASD during FER can be observed in variety of brain regions apart from
FG and amygdala e.g. cerebellum (Critchley et al., 2000), inferior frontal gyrus (Greimel et al., 2010),
orbito frontal and medial frontal cortices (Loveland, Steinberg, Pearson, Reddoch Mansour, 2008).

Organic Essay Vs Organic Farming
The topic that I chose to focus on for my research paper is on the practices used in both organically
and conventionally grown foods. More specifically, I focus on the sustainability of the two different
methods and whether or not one is more sustainable than the other in terms of soil health and crop
output/production. The question that I asked in order to help develop my research is Is organic
farming more sustainable and healthy than conventional farming methods? My stance on the matter is
that organic farming methods are not only healthier than conventional methods but they are also more
sustainable for future farming. Before reading my research paper, my readers will have to understand
the different farming techniques and methods used in both conventional and organic farming. They
will also need to know the types of pesticides used during both practices and whether or not these
pesticides and chemicals are harmful to the human body. This can be best explained by Paul Maders
article Soil Fertility and Biodiversity in Organic Farming. In this article he discusses the farming
methods used in organic foods and conventional foods. This article also discusses the nutritional
difference between the two types of growing foods and effect that both have on soil, crop yields and
biodiversity within organic farms. This article helps the reader to understand the process in which
these two different methods produce food and the many factors that go into the production of both.

  • 2. The Rose For Emily Comparison The GreenLeaf, by Flannery O Connor, and The Rose for Emily, written by William Faulkner, are different in many ways but also similar. The books both have similar literary devices being used, the era the books were staged in, and how the authors portrayed southern ideals . Flannery used smiles, such as when O Connor wrote, ..hand would dangle from her wrist like the head of a broken lily. , where she compared the hand of Mrs.May and a broken lily s head. O Connor also shown symbolism by the bull stabbing Mrs.GreenLeaf in the heart with it s horn, while earlier in the story she stated Oh Jesus, stab me in the heart! , this shows Jesus stabbing her as she said in her demand and symbolizes the crucifixion of Jesus. In the beginning of the story, O Connor displays symbolism by comparing the bull to Christ. So once again Flannery O Connor is bringing religion into play. O Connor is well known for utilizing being raised Catholic in the South in her books. Miss O Connor puts a piece of herself in all her short stories. Mrs. May shares this Christian aspect that Flannery establishes in all her stories. She conveys this by always stating how she is a lady of God, even though the statements that she makes do not manifest that. Mrs.May claims this on multiple occasions as if she is trying to convince herself how christianly she is. The Rose for Emily also contains multiple literary devices; such as, symbolism, the aged house Emily lives in shows her isolation, she does not leave that much, because she is hiding a terrible secret in the upstairs room. Emily only wanted a home, she could call her own and grow old with someone she loved in, which she thought was Home Barron but tragically he died and stored his body in the upstairs room, this is the reason why her house was smelling so horrible. The townspeople had to sprinkle lime on her lawn to terminate the smell. The reader is to think that she killed him because she loved him and wanted the control that she never had, because her father abused her and he was all she had before he died, so she wanted to always have Barron. Both short stories were set to segregation times.Because slavery has ended, both O.T. and E.T. and Miss Emily have an African American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Pros And Cons Of Cord Blood Banking country are now recommending collecting the cord blood. There s only two things that (you can) potentially buy your new baby that are lifesaving: One is a good car seat and the other is cord blood. Dr. Marra Francis, Ob/Gyn, CBR medical consultant gives his medical and personal opinion of collecting cord blood. Cord Blood banking also has it s limitations. Researchers have discovered that it is actually harder for adults to be treated with cord blood than bone marrow. Children usually receive one unit of cord blood because their small bodies only need a small amount. Adults however need more than the one unit of blood that children receive because their bodies are so much bigger. According to eurostemcells.org there are serious complications ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sick children whose parents did bank their blood sometimes cannot be used (Moniger, 67). Many blood banks do not tell parents that if their children may develop a cancer or a disease early on in their life that they may not be able to use the cord blood because the blood may be diseased. This risk is one of the main risks that deter parents from paying the cost for banking. Another negative aspect of cord blood collection and banking is that if a mother who delivers twins would like to collect and store her children s cord blood, she would not be able to. Both babies may have a different cord tissue type and they may be mixed during the collection process making them virtually useless (The Truth about Cord Blood Banking Lucie s list, n.d.) . Also, If the mother ever had cancer, she can not have her child s blood collected. This is because doctors do not want the possibility of the cord blood to be contaminated with the cancer which in turn will contaminate the patient receiving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Credibility In William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Juliet, you don t know what you are about to do.This potion could change your life forever, or even end your life. This all started when you and Romeo met at the party. Romeo instantly fell in love with you and wanted to marry you. At first you didn t know if it was true love since it happened so suddenly. Even though you knew it might not be true love you married him anyway, which was irresponsible. Your marriage caused Tybalt s death, which lead to your dad wanting you to marry Paris. Now, your wedding to Paris is tomorrow, and Romeo is in Mantua. Juliet, you can t drink this potion, it may kill you, your family will be devastated, and your brain is not fully developed to make this decision. You believe that Friar is completely reliable and trustworthy, but he may be out to kill you. Friar wasn t responsible or reliable when he married you and Romeo in secret. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Such a changing balance might provide clues to a youthful appetite for novelty, and a tendency to act on impulse (NIMH). At your age, your brain will act on impulse. The first thing you thought of is killing yourself, then you went to Friar and he talked about the potion. You did not even think about it or the consequences of it, you just agreed to the first thing he said. You have only known Romeo for a few days and you are already willing to kill yourself for him. You don t have much time to think and that is understandable, but you need to think this through. The potion could change your life, and any adult would take the time to think about the right decision. • 6. Oil Pollution in the Oceans Oil By the time the first oceanographers began widespread testing, the Industrial Revolution was well underway and changes had already occurred. Since the industrial revolution, pollution has become a major problem in this world. Pollutants cause damage by interfering directly or indirectly with the biochemical processes of an organism. Some pollution induced changes may be instantly lethal; other changes may weaken an organism over weeks or months, alter the dynamics of the population of which it is a part, or gradually unbalance the entire community. There are many forms of pollution, which include natural and man made. Oil is a natural pollutant that is spread by seeping, dumping and spills. Oil is naturally in the marine environment. Oil seeps have been leaking large quantities of oil into the ocean for millions of years. Because of our growing dependence on petroleum products, offshore drilling, and street runoff carrying waste oil from automobiles, the amount of oil entering the ocean has increased greatly in recent years. Every year more than 908 million liters of used motor oil finds its way into the ocean. Motor oil that has been used is more toxic than crude oil or new oil because it has developed carcinogenic and metallic components from the heat and pressure within internal combustion engines. Spills of crude oil are generally larger in volume and more frequent than spills of refined oil. Most components of crude oil do not dissolve easily in water, but those ... • 7. The Effects Of Corporal Punishment On Student Development... The Aftermath of a Raised Hand What is the harm of a little physical reinforcement to ensure children know how to properly act in society? This idea of physical reinforcement is also known as corporal punishment and is still present today in the southern American states, including some Texas school systems. Corporal punishment defined as punishment of a physical nature, such as caning, flogging, or beating (Corporal punishment). Some administers believe benefits include fewer student outbursts and a quiet environment; however, this logic fails to include the psychological implications of corporal punishment on students. Negative effects of corporal punishment negate the benefits of classroom management, as evidenced by the Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, if a student experiences punishment from a teacher/principal at school just to get even more punishment from a parent for the same offense, then consequently the violence is what the child will remember most vividly. The conditions to model this violent behavior includes attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation which can be interpreted as the attention to the fact that violence is an adult s response causes a child to model the behavior of the adults around them resulting in more violence (Bandura, 288). Subconsciously most adults tend to believe that the easiest way to deal with a disobedient child or person is to cause physical harm. This answer of violence more times than not stems from the anger a student caused in doing wrong. Justification for corporal punishment originates from the past and is often the defense of pro corporal punishment advocates. Physical punishment can be traced back to ancient times exemplified in Egypt, concerning the slaves that built the pyramids. These deep roots of physical punishment are often referred to as a form of proof that it works. To use Egyptian violence as an example is pushing the envelope of what corporal punishment is today, regardless the reaction to that punishment is similar because human nature is present in both time periods. Punishment in and of itself is not inherently detrimental to a person s development; however, in the case of school corporal punishment the extra violent input ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lucy, often the one who instigates and devises the plans, drags her willing friend Ethel through a maze of misguided schemes in hopes of becoming famous. Feeling challenged by Ricky, who opposes her not so brilliant ideas, Lucy retaliates with trickery and indiscretions that never work out as she planned. Adding to the comedy, when Ricky finds out what Lucy has done, he is so mad that he begins to yell in Spanish and it is obvious that Lucy does not understand what he is saying. The nature of crime however deals with the motives and causes of crime, which has no one clear cut explanation. • 29. Why Recycling Is Important Why is Recycling of CFLs Important? Fluorescent bulbs emit dangerous gas and mercury into the environment when they break. Dumping these bulbs in the trash or compactor often break these bulbs. In the end, these bulbs reach a landfill or incinerator after thrown into a dumpster. Recycling is the safest and highly recommended method to treat these bulbs instead of throwing into a dumpster. In this way, CFLs will not release any harmful gas or mercury to the environment. Plus, the materials used for making these bulbs can be reused too. In addition, all components of a fluorescent bulb can be easily recycled. How to recycle the CFLs? • 30. St Thomas Aquinas Influence On Religion Have you ever wanted to pray before a test, but didn t know who to pray to? Saint Thomas Aquinas is the patron saint of students and education. Throughout his life, he taught us various ways on how to believe in what we believe in. He also taught us to chase our dreams, even when it is not approved by the people around us. Saints are those who follow Christ and live their lives according to his teachings. They are known as the standard operating models for human beings. Catholics, however, also use the term narrowly to refer to special holy men and women who entered Heaven through extraordinary lives of virtue. Because a saint is holy, they know both the bad news of sin and the good news of salvation. Catholics honor the saints because they are known as model Christians and practiced great virtue during their life on Earth. We can honor the saints by imitating their holy lives, praying to them, and by showing respect for their relics and images. St. Thomas Aquinas was born in 1225 in Roccasecca, Italy. • 32. Negro Spirituals Negro Spirituals Spirituals, a religious folk song of American origin, particularly associated with African American Protestants of the southern United States. The African American spiritual, characterized by syncopation, polyrhythmic structure, and the pentatonic scale of five whole tones, is, above all, a deeply emotional song. Spirituals are really the most characteristic product of the race genius as yet in America. But the very elements which make them uniquely expressive of the Negro make them at the same time deeply representative of the soil that produced them. Spirituals were long thought to be the only original folk music of the United States, and research into its origin centered mainly on the nature and extent of its African ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this point of view we have essentially four classes, the almost ritualistic prayer songs or pure Spirituals, the freer and more unrestrained evangelical shouts or camp meeting songs, the folk ballads so overlaid with the tradition of the Spirituals proper that their distinctive type quality has almost been unnoticed until lately, and the work and labor songs of strictly significant character. Indeed, in the pure Spirituals one can trace the broken fragments of an evangelical folk liturgy, with confession, exhortation, mourning, conversion and love feast rejoicing as the general stages of a Protestant folk mass. It is not a question of religious content or allusion, for the great majority of the Negro songs have this more delicate question of caliber of feeling and type of folk use. The distinctiveness of the Spirituals after all and their finest meaning resides in their musical elements. The characteristic beauty of the folk song is harmonic, in distinction to the more purely rhythmic stress in the secular music of the Negro, which is the basis of ragtime and jazz ; while regarding the one as the African component in them, and the other as the modifying influence of the religious hymn. In the United States the rhythmic element, though still dominant, has ceded measurably to the melodic, the dance having given way to religious worship, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Social Policies In The Poor Law ( 1834. Social policies the fundamental principles in which a society is based. Created to tackle poverty, protect society addressing issues such as social welfare, justice and individual wellbeing. By 1834 the government were under fierce criticism due to rising and mounting costs of looking after the poor, it became clear a change was needed to fix problems in society. The government brought in an amendment act titled the Poor Law (1834) which was designed to reduce the cost of looking after the poor, passed by parliament this new law meant anyone seeking relief from poverty had to now enter a workhouse (BBC Bitesize, 2017). In the early 1800 s the population was rapidly rising, an industrial revolution, the development of towns and the first experience of modern unemployment caused problems within British society (Spicker, 2017). There was suspicion from middle and upper class taxpayers that their money encouraged the poor to be lazy and avoid work, Squandering money on alcohol and tobacco. In addition, this encouraged the poor to have more children in which they could not afford to support causing resentment and dividing society (Murray, 2013). Prior to the Poor Law Amendment Act there was the Elizabethan Poor Law 1601 which was more generous towards the poor. It was becoming impossible for the government to sustain this law due to the growing costs. Statistics show that in 1802 the expenditure on poor relief was costing the government £4,078,000, this figure continued to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Roles Of Women In Roman Women In my civilization of Rome, women in society have the duty of taking care of the home and family. Love has almost nothing to do with a Roman marriage. It exists so that wives may produce children to be heirs to their father s property. Every man wants a son to care for them in old age and eventually take over the estate, since there are no retirement homes or pension plans. Age fourteen is an average age for a young girl to get married. Women have weak judgment, so they are prohibited from attending, speaking in, or voting at political assemblies. They also cannot hold any governmental position. Egypt treats its women very differently in comparison to my civilization. Egyptians believe that joy and happiness are legitimate goals of life and take home and family very seriously. Women of Egypt are almost completely equal to men in regards to the law. They can own property, borrow money, sign contracts, and initiate divorce. The men and women here love children, and do not conceive children just to produce an heir to property. We Romans have a practical attitude towards religion. The upper elite classes hold the priesthood positions. There is no separation of church and state. We consider ourselves highly religious and our practices and beliefs are our own. It is a part of our daily lives, and each home has a household shrine in which families can pray to. We credit our religious customs to its founder Numa Pompilius, the Sabine second second king of Rome. He negotiated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. How Would Arcite Die In The Handmaid s Tale 1. In the anthology book, The Canterbury Tales (1478), Geoffrey Chaucer asserts that control and rules do not always work out how they were envisioned to play out no matter how much someone tries to enforce them. The author supports this claim by showing how Palamon and Arcite s knightly oath to be loyal to each other did not work out how they thought when they both fell in love with the same girl, Emily. The author purposely chooses to have Arcite die in the end just as he was about to win the girl of his dreams in order to show that nothing can be perfect no matter how much someone tries as disorder and entropy will always exist. The intended audience appears to be those who easily get upset when things do not go their way such as Arcite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Theseus takes things into his own hands and feels like it is his duty to punish Creon s savagery. Theseus feels like it is up to him to bring balance by killing Creon. With this comes a perceived understanding of many cultures and their influences but in fact full cultural literacy is impossible to achieve. My grandfather was born and raised in the backwoods of Louisiana during a turbulent time for African Americans. As a black man he lived in perpetual danger. Through race riots, physical exploitation, and attempted rape, he has developed a much different opinion about gun reform than mine. So much so that my mother carries the many of the same opinions. My great aunt, on my grandfather s side, was a beautiful woman in her time. She was a tall 5 5 with long french hair that rested in little curls at the ends. Her skin was a light coffee color much like mine. Her facial features displayed an uncharacteristically delicate quality for her environment. she was a nexus for all types of attention, good and bad. When she was at the ripe age of sixteen a man, almost twice her age arrived to the front porch. He intended to inquire about a date. when the doorbell rang he crooked a sly smile, not expecting to be greeted by the stoic face of my great grandfather. • 37. Ausiological Differences In Emotional Processing In... Although there is a continuous debate, it is commonly assumed that emotion recognition difficulties are present in individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (Uljarevic Hamilton, 2013). In this review several neuroimaging (fMRI) and electrophysiological (EEG) papers of facial processing are reviewed in attempt to explore neurological differences in emotional processing in people with ASD (Table.1) There are relatively few studies carried out measuring electrophysiology, specifically the event related potentials (ERP) compare to fMRI studies, in the field of emotional processing. ERP is measuring current cortical activity, while fMRI subcortical activity e.g. amygdala. The use of eye tracking devices in fMRI studies allow to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Predominantly all fMRI studies show reduced activity in amygdala area, area associated with emotional processing, including FER (Ashwin, Baron Cohen, Wheelwright, O Riordan Bullmore, 2007; Pelphrey, Morris, McCarthy LaBar, 2007) and neutral face processing (Hadjikhani, Joseph, Snyder Tager Flusberg, 2007). Reviewed Corbett et al. 2009 findings are consistent with the majority, while Dalton et al. 2005, same as Monk et al., 2010 did found higher activation in amygdala (see table 3). Interestingly, Monk et al. 2010, to insure participants attended to faces, did use an attention cueing paradigm (Monk et al., 2010). Overall, evidence suggests that there is decreased automatic activation of amygdala when emotional faces are processed, although there is a possibility of this be due to diminished attention to faces (Harms, Martin Wallace, 2010). Previously reported increase in attention load (Wang, Dapretto, Hariri, Sigman Bookheimer, 2004) may help to explain the amount of variance in left amygdala activation between AS (52%) and control group (3%) and right anterior fusiform, AS (56%) versus control group (22%) (Dalton et al., 2005). Nevertheless, abnormalities in ASD during FER can be observed in variety of brain regions apart from FG and amygdala e.g. cerebellum (Critchley et al., 2000), inferior frontal gyrus (Greimel et al., 2010), orbito frontal and medial frontal cortices (Loveland, Steinberg, Pearson, Reddoch Mansour, 2008). ... • 39. Organic Essay Vs Organic Farming The topic that I chose to focus on for my research paper is on the practices used in both organically and conventionally grown foods. More specifically, I focus on the sustainability of the two different methods and whether or not one is more sustainable than the other in terms of soil health and crop output/production. The question that I asked in order to help develop my research is Is organic farming more sustainable and healthy than conventional farming methods? My stance on the matter is that organic farming methods are not only healthier than conventional methods but they are also more sustainable for future farming. Before reading my research paper, my readers will have to understand the different farming techniques and methods used in both conventional and organic farming. They will also need to know the types of pesticides used during both practices and whether or not these pesticides and chemicals are harmful to the human body. This can be best explained by Paul Maders article Soil Fertility and Biodiversity in Organic Farming. In this article he discusses the farming methods used in organic foods and conventional foods. This article also discusses the nutritional difference between the two types of growing foods and effect that both have on soil, crop yields and biodiversity within organic farms. This article helps the reader to understand the process in which these two different methods produce food and the many factors that go into the production of both. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
