have taken many steps in the right direction. Yet, with every new frontier they approach, new

change into the 3D model was a bit jarring and could have been done better. Using a different way to
deliver the opening monologue, or even changing the dialogue so it didn t have to be read as if it were
a storybook could have fixed this issue.

have a cutout sequence at the beginning of the film that has a completely different design. I feel that
the best way to fix this issue is by choosing between the necessary styles. The 2D animation works
better with the 2D in my opinion, while I feel like the cutout animation is out of place. If they wanted
to have the opening in a different style I would suggest sticking with only 2 styles of animation in the

I cannot believe this is week four already. This class has gone by so fast! While I am still in the
process of completing my final essay, I believe I am far enough along that I can discuss my writing
process. I have writing anxiety and I am sure I am not the only one in here that feels that way. When I
wrote the Generating Ideas assignment on my writing process, I compared my writing anxiety to what
a person feels prior to a dental procedure or having surgery. I used to cope by avoidance. I would
procrastinate until the very last minute. That level of deadline stress combined with the apprehension
of writing in general compounded my panic level. This is not a good thing and the results were less

It does effect the story because it was a time of great struggle for many families and Anchee. In the

This book gave me a better understanding of this time period in Shanghai because Anchee Min is
