Manu Ginobili
Manu Ginóbili
Emanuel David Manu Ginóbili (born 28 July 1977) is a 6 foot 6 inch left handed Argentinean
professional basketball player. Coming from a family of professional basketball players, he is a
member of the Argentine men s national basketball team and the NBA.
Ginóbili spent the early part of his basketball career in Argentina and Italy, where he won several
individual and team honors. His stint with Italian side Kinder Bologna was particularly productive,
earning two Italian League MVP awards, the Euro league Finals MVP and the 2001 Euro league and
Triple Crown championships. The shooting guard was selected as the 57th overall pick in the 1999
NBA Draft and is considered one of the biggest draft steals of all time. Ginóbili ... Show more content

He helped guide them past the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals and then the New
Jersey Nets in the Finals, securing San Antonio s second championship. After the win, Ginóbili won
his first Olimpia de Oro ( Golden Olympia ) as Argentina s sportsperson of the year, and even met
Argentine president Néstor Kirchner. A gym in Bahía Blanca was dedicated in Ginóbili s honor as
well.
In the 2003 04 season, Ginóbili began featuring more regularly for the Spurs, starting in half of the 77
regular season games he played in. His statistics improved in all major categories, as he averaged 12.8
points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game. During the 2004 playoffs, the Spurs met their
perennial rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers, in the Western Conference Semifinals. Following Game 5
where Derek Fisher scored a buzzer beating jumpshot, the Spurs lost Game 6 and the series 4 2. While
Ginóbili did not start in a single playoff game as he did in 2003, his playoff statistics improved
significantly, with 13.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
After some initial issues with San Antonio over his contract, Ginóbili re signed with the Spurs and
started every game during the 2004 05 season. This was his best season yet as he was selected as a
reserve by NBA coaches to the 2005 Western Conference

Essay On Don John Deception
Interviewer: Don John s lawyer, how bad was the actions of Dong John? Don John s deception did not
break the law as it did not result in any damage to anyone that was involved in this incident. Even
though it was harmless, people misunderstood the incident as a cruel and harsh action. Borachio, one
of his workers was the one who pretended to be a man on Hero s balcony. You might think that Don
John should be ashamed of himself but I know Borachio was the real culprit behind the trickery. He
was the person who attempted to deceive Claudio which also influenced him to deceive Hero.
Borachio s plan led to a chain reaction of deception within people. If the judge decides that Don John

He was the one who came up with the idea. He was the one who intentionally planned to deceive
some, specifically aiming on Don Pedro s close friend. Don John did not intend to proceed the plan.
All the work was done by Borachio and not Don John. Starting from when Don John was little, he was
always seen as the bastard . Have you ever noticed how you treat the bastard ? You probably wouldn t
notice. People have a natural instinct to stay away from the illegitimate one without avoiding them
intentionally. Without having much attention from people and being mistreated by people around him,
the plan was also trying to help Don John to get attention. I heard that there was a child in the village
with busy parents. The child didn t have much attention from his parents due to the fact that they were
always working. He tried to annoy his parents a lot just to get some attention occasionally. Don John
is a product of society, this society. The society is failing, failing to see everyone as equal. The
inequality within our community results in cases like Don John. Deception occurs by many reasons

Hypocrisy In Tom Sawyer Finn
Even if twain is cutting in his dismissive attitude toward abstract social causes that involve hypocrisy,
he sees it as an inevitable and condonable aspect of life in a community. Adults fail to follow through
on their word regarding the several adventures Tom undertakes that involve his leaving the village. In
running away to Jackson s Island, getting lost in the cave, and tracking down Injun Joe s treasure, Tom
and his friends break serious rules, yet in each case the villagers welcome the children home again
without punishing them. The adults can hardly be condemned for their hypocrisy in desiring the
children s safety, which underscores Twain s belief in the ultimate goodness of community. The

Labelle v. Rogers Communications Inc.
Labelle v. Rogers Communications Inc. Deborah P. Labelle filed a complaint with the Canadian
Human Rights Commission on September 3, 2009 against Rogers Communications Inc. The
complainant, Labelle feels that Rogers Communications Inc. the respondent, discriminated against her
because she is a woman. This falls under section 3 of the CHRA which covers and protects against sex
discrimination. Labelle alleges she was treated differently compared to her male counterparts and was
eventually fired from her position. The complainant filed this complaint on the grounds of sex
discrimination.
The Commission on the date of April 8, 2011 announced to the Tribunal and the alleged parties that is
would not be involved in the hearing directly. They enclosed documentation and forwarded it to both
parties concerning the information about legal council should they have any questions. A mediation
date was set shortly after on April 19, 2011. At this point the Tribunal uses a courier service to contact
all parties involved. This requires the recipient to sign for the documents being delivered. This
presented an issue for the complainant from the beginning. The courier has history saved to record
when a delivery is attempted and is either successful or unsuccessful. Throughout the entirety of this
case, Labelle was unable to be contacted on over 5 attempts by the courier service.

The Marketing Plan For Avon
History It all started out with an idea in 1886, an idea that allowed women become more self
effacement and successful. A book salesman named David H. McConnell, from New York created that
idea. The idea was to give women an opportunity to sell perfume to help them become financially
independent, this idea became a dream, a company named The California Perfume Company (CPC),
currently named Avon. Avon represents a company focused on providing the additional beauty and
complimentary beauty products throughout different parts of the world. Avon ushered in a new direct
selling approach, allowing the seller to bypass the middle man and gain extra income. During the first

Avon had a plan to invest a clothing line within department/ retail stores JCPenny and Sears, but those
efforts did not last. The partnership did not happen with Sears and only lasted 2 years with JCPenny,
with that being said, the company tripled their revenue from 1999 to $846 million in 2004. In 2010,
Brazil passed the U.S. to become the biggest market for Avon when looking at sales. Avon launched a
new information management system in Brazil and ended up losing sales because the program causes
missed orders and deliveries. Next I will discuss the CEO change and change in strategy Andrea Jung
resigned as the CEO in 2011, the next CEO Sheri McCoy was appointed in 2012. McCoy resume was
impressive, she worked at Johnson Johnson where they specialize in different beauty products. McCoy
planned to focus on three critical areas of the company: executing growth platforms, driving
simplification and efficiency, and improving organizational effectiveness (Dess, McNamara Eisner,
2016). McCoy believed technology was the key so she pushed to expand their current information
technology systems, which took an investment of about $200 million. McCoy kept direct selling as the
focus point for her changes and believed that marketing was the key to success. McCoy had to manage
an internal investigation that was based on illegal activity in 2009 and 2010, both years were before

Perceptions In Psychology
On a sunny morning, Mary walks down a street in St. Louis and meets Paul and Helen as they make
their usual rounds with their dog. Later that day, she sits in a café to study a bit and sees her classmate
Peter. She finishes her breakfast and gets tired of studying, so she goes to the movies and makes a new
friend named Leonard. After a while, Mary gets hungry, and goes to a nearby diner, where she sees her
good friend Louis. Within half a day, Mary, who is named after St. Mary, has met with five others that

In figure 1 (Bartley), shown above, ninety eight percent of test subjects agree that Shape A is Kiki
while Shape B is Bouba. From studies of sound symbolism, one can infer that before knowing
anything about a person or subject, most people already have predetermined feelings about the person
or subject. Due to sound symbolism, among other factors, a person s name could potentially affect his
or her personality. This is because outside perceptions of one can influence one s self perception
(Deluzain). In his book about psychology, Alter mentions every name is associated with demographic
baggage (Drunk Tank Pink 9). Different names can indicate a person s age or ethnicity; coupled with
the idea that children tend to follow expectations set for them (Bryner), this provides a reason why
names can affect a person s personality. When children are met repetitively by a certain expectation,
they start to believe what is said about them, that others perception of them is correct, and follow this
expectation. Adults too, when in the outside world and met with different biases due to their names,
may act the ways others believe them to act, and not how they might naturally act. Names also have
different connotations, influencing a person to act a certain way. For example, children with names
that are closer to the opposite gender version of the name are influenced to act differently

Income Distribution and Economic Growth in LDC s Essay
Income Distribution and Economic Growth in LDC s
INTRODUCTION
In recent years, one of the major concerns of economic development is the study of poverty, the
income distribution and growth in the less developed countries (LDC s) or Third World countries.
Economists from all over the world have been doing researches and studies on how to induce a growth
in those underdeveloped countries. However, countries differentiate in historical backgrounds, cultural
believes and natural resources. As a result, the government would implement different strategies to
attain a much fairer distribution of income among the society. The relationship between the income
distribution and growth in the LDC s is a significant factor that would affect ... Show more content on

The major concern of the policies would be the approach to provide human basic needs (HBN) for
each and every one of the people in the country. In nearly all of the LDC s, majority of the people are
living under absolute poverty. This means that they are not able to provide a standard level of living
for themselves. Different policies to improve the income inequality and also procure an economic
growth include land reform, redistribution of saving and investment, education for all, progressive
taxation, public expenditures from tax revenues and birth control.
Some people think that there existed a trade off between growth and equity. They think that
distributing income too equally would undermine incentives and thus lower everyone s income. They
believed that the rich needed special encouragement to save and invest more in order to cause a
growth in the economy. Recent evidence suggests that this conventional wisdom is wrong. Many
economies in Asia Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan
(province of China) and Thailand have had both rapid growth and relatively low inequality. Between
1960 and 1993 the East Asian economies,

The City of Constantinople and Warfare of the Byzantine...
Constantinople was the newfound Christian capital of the eastern Roman Empire, otherwise known as
the Byzantine Empire. Throughout its long history, there have been many different attacks on the
religious capital city. Over a period of 1123 years, Constantinople was a solid city controlled by the
Byzantines apart some small upsets. Multiple attacks and sieges were attempted to overthrow the city,
however, most failed miserably. It wasn t until 1453 that the city finally fell to the Ottoman Empire.
Some victories of the Byzantines may have been caused by a weapon called Greek fire, believed to be
invented around the 650 s AD (Groller). The weapon was similar to today s weapon, napalm. Out of
the many sieges against Constantinople, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the new invention of Greek fire, the Byzantines had a relatively easy time winning the wars.
These two failed sieges stopped the expansion of the Arab Empire for more than 30 years. However, if
the Arabs won, it could have started a chain reaction causing the Byzantine Empire to dissolve and
jump start the Arab expansion into England 700 years early. The Byzantine Empire fought wars
differently then most at the time. Instead of using mass amounts of soldiers to overwhelm the enemy,
the Byzantines used strategy and intelligence gathering to find their enemies weaknesses and expose
them. The genius of Byzantine grand strategy was to turn the very multiplicity of enemies to
advantage, by employing diplomacy, deception, payoffs, and religious conversion to induce them to
fight one another instead of fighting the empire. ... In the Byzantine scheme of things, military
strength was subordinated to diplomacy instead of the other way around, and used mostly to contain,
punish, or intimidate rather than to attack or defend in full force. (Luttwak, 2009, p.415)
These strategies, not far off the ones used today, saved the Empire money and soldiers, a vital resource
to the Empire. In order to maintain the level of soldiers in their army, commanders were expected to
try and find a way to avoid open battles against the enemy s main attack force. They

The Role of Abuse in British India in Forster s Passage to...
In a Passage to India the author, E. M Forster sends the message of India s mistreatment and
misrepresentation by Britain. Throughout the novel, the reader is able to observe how British and
Indian characters are treated differently. The author demonstrates the British perspective of Indians
being the ignorant characters in the novel, whose company leads to troubles. Another aspect of the
British perspective is that Indians are being treated as inferiors to the British in their own country,
because if it were not for the British, the social and political order in India will descend into chaos.
The author demonstration of the British perspective encourages the reader to feel sympathetic towards
Indians. Whenever Aziz and Ronny meet, Ronny ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Adela and Mrs. Moore take a neutral position towards Indians, the author provides their reaction to
the British behavior at the bridge party as a catalyst to encourage the reader to feel sympathetic
towards Indians. Adela says at the bridge party this party today makes me so angry......Fancy inviting
gusts and not treating them properly. (pg.47). Adela s reaction reinforces the picture that the author
draws of how Indians are being treated improperly, despite the fact that they show all sort of respect
towards the British colonialists. Adela s reaction also provides a clarification that not every British
colonialist thinks that Indians should be treated as inferiors to the British, which serves the author well
as it questions the validity of the author s betrayal to his country. Another situation where the British
perspective is demonstrated is when Ronny learns that his mother, Mrs. Moore has met Aziz in the
mosque. Despite the fact that Ronny does not even know who has his mother met at the mosque, it
angers him that his mother was talking to a native Indian, and he begins to question her in a serious
tone of voice as if she has disgraced him. Later on Ronny and his mother get into an argument about
how Ronny should treat Indians, and Ronny says what do you and Adela want me to do? Go against
my class, against all the people that I respect and admire out here? (pg.51).

The American Revolution Research Paper
The American Revolution
The American Revolution was a political separation between Britain and the original Thirteen
Colonies. It occurred between the years 1765 and 1783, resulting in a lot of bloodshed and casualties.
With tension building between the two powers, the revolution was a battle that formed what America
is today. The Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre, and the many taxes imposed are factors to what
lead the colonists to form together and fight Britain. The reason why America won against its former
owner is because of the alliance with France, the knowledge of the terrain, and the determination that
the soldiers had. The colonies were furious and tense, boycotts and riots filled the streets in the year of
1765. The new act, which put ridiculous amounts of taxes on common household necessities such as
tea, left the colonists broke and turning the cold shoulder to Great Britain. The years progressively got
worse, seen on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the colonists rebelled against Parliament s decisions of passing new laws, they were angered
by the creation of the Tea Act, and rebelled by dumping 18,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor,
which was known as the Boston Tea Party. The colonists were determined to get their independance
from Great Britain, so after the battles of Lexington and Concord, the Second Continental Congress
met to decide what was to be done next. For example, Americans had a grand cause: fighting for their
rights, their independence and their liberty (American and British Strengths and Weaknesses). This
shows that the colonists were not just fighting to win, they were fighting for their freedom, their
rights, and their independance from Great Britain. Most of the American military were civilians that
were fighting because they wanted freedom and they were determined to do

Band Over Sports
A number of sources repeatedly claim that music is essential to a child s growth, and that it boosts
math and social skills (CNN). However, Fayette County, along with many other counties, are cutting
down on art funds to make room for sports indulgences. Instead of new sousaphones for the marching

You also have to take props, permission to use music, and uniform cleaning into consideration. If you
add those to the cost, it totals to around $400,000 per year. That s an enormous amount to pay with

Lafayette High School, the cost is $1,000 per year per student. This adds even more money to pay
with school costs, and can put stress on families economy. In fact, this year at Lafayette, some families
couldn t pay their fees, and we are now unable to attend a major competition we had planned because
of our budget.
This put a huge damper on the band. The competition that we cancelled was going to be the biggest

Enlightenment Vs Romantic Era Essay
The Enlightenment, or Age of Reason (1647 1789), and the Romantic Era (1790 1832) were two
contrasting yet consecutive periods in history that consisted of fundamentally opposing works. While
Romantics believed that the Enlightenment era created an oppressed and conformist society,
Enlightenment thinkers regarded the Romantics as naive and too emotional. Although the
Enlightenment and Romantic periods were at odds in distinct ways, both aspired to improve humanity,
liberate the self, and emphasize their unique values through referencing Greek mythology. Both the
Romantics, who loved nature, and the Enlightenment thinkers, who valued rational thought and
moderation, believed their movements would help humanity thrive. In William Wordsworth s ... Show

and danger, the reader may feel a sense of freedom since she is not restrained by rational thought; an
Enlightenment value, which the Romantic writers despised. In Alexander Pope s Enlightenment poem,
The Rape of the Lock, the speaker declares that The hungry judges soon the sentence sign / And

suggesting that the judges and juries put their own physical needs like hunger, above justice. This
satirical element was common in the Enlightenment, and shows increased individual liberty because
the writer is exercising his right to say whatever he wants in a clever way. By challenging people in
power, Pope is demonstrating how humans have the right to govern their own lives and be free. The
Romantic thinkers believed that liberation of self could be attained through exciting one s emotions

Hashanah, the first day of the jewish calendar. The only problem was, we couldn t celebrate with our
family and our friends from Nozyk Synagogue, due to us being fearful of the Germans invading
Poland. It was more of a day of sadness; I was going to have to enlist in the polish army soon to fight
the germans on the front lines. My grandfather had died in the great war during the battle of the
somme, and my parents didn t want me to suffer a similar fate. Unfortunately for them, my country
needed me, and I would have to go whether I wanted to or not. Today was my wife and I s 3rd
anniversary, and we planned to go on a trip to Czechoslovakia. We also went there on our honeymoon,
and decided to go there every other year afterwards. I still remember our wedding day, my father was
crying tears of joy, proud of how much his son had grown up. The test to get into the army was
nothing special; just a physical and a few questions, and some training for a few days. I still remember
my last day of training in the army, our drill sergeant was talking about ... Show more content on

After that was finished, I was sent with a group of prisoners away from the others. I asked a soldier
where we were going, and he told me that if I asked him again, my head would no longer be resting on
my shoulders. We were marched for around an hour to a group of tents away from the main camp.
They told us that this was where we were staying, which was odd. Everyone else was in cabins, while
we were given tents. We thought maybe they ran out of room, but then we noticed some of the cabins
looking empty and lifeless, while we could clearly see our other comrades inside warm cabins. We
soon realized that everyone in the tents was jewish, and found out that the germans were putting us

Bodybuilding And The Subculture Of Bodybuilding
Introduction Bodybuilding is the process that involves development of muscle fibers which is
facilitated through special exercises, increased diet (calorie) as well as having the recommended
amount of rest. I believe that in the current century bodybuilders have formed subcultures that are very
unique in the sense that they have their own values, beliefs as well as traditions that are enshrined
within their cultural provisions.
Description of the Subculture This paper is basically going to look into the subculture of
bodybuilding. The field site will be the local gym where those who are involved in bodybuilding do
train. In most cases, I do interact with the trainees at the local gym and therefore this is indeed a
strategic fit for my research as the environment presumably is friendly. Consequently, these are people
who I have interacted with before and as such they are very friendly. This would really provide me
with an ample time so that I could undertake my research in the best possible way. It is important for
us to understand the subculture that we are to cover. By bodybuilding, I mean the drive that
individuals have so as to maintain the perfect physique as well as ensuring that they have low fat
levels in their bodies. It is true that all that is involved in bodybuilding is hardcore. Most people often
enroll for the bodybuilding so that they could have an appealing physical outlook. Bodybuilding
makes the muscles to expand and as such those involved with the

A Common Motif Of Mutual Death Essay
We are all the same, no one is better no one is less. We are all struggling to survive; be kind. That s the
rhetoric my parents so heavily ingrained in my mind. I was raised to take this passive ideology and
grow my life out of well intended passivism. Same became the degradation of different; Struggles
became insignificant and rooted in the pretense that everyone faces the same challenges. So, I went
through the motions stagnant and unmoved. Racism became unreal, unfathomable and unlogical. I
looked at St. Louis, my home, without truly seeing the deep existence of division the deep truth of
what it really holds. Like the Van Boucle painting, a common motif of mutual death can be seen in the
life of my home town. His strokes paint dead turkeys all vaguely touching each other, as they are set
up in different positions. Some are further away from others, but all are at least a part of a pair. Like
this image, the oil spills into blood and death touches us all; linking our existence; linking the streets
of St. Louis.
Separate is not equal Brown v. Board The legacy of slavery and Jim Crow was something I never
understood or clearly saw as a child and teenager. As a young child I lived in the areas now more
associated with the racist term ghetto . My parents tell me about the influence of gangs and crime that
overcame their older neighborhoods. Then the idea of black and these neighborhoods became
subconsciously and problematically synonymous. But my nomadic

Type Of Luxury Consumers By Robert Frank
In the article Type of Luxury Consumers , the author, Robert Frank, tries to deal with the issue of the
behaviour of luxury consumers. He introduces the readers that the consumers will spend their money
lavishly to show wealth and status based on their economic ability. They are willing to buy expensive
items with a good branding compared to the low end product that lack of explicit markers. The author
argues every type of luxury consumer has their own desire and taste to follow the trend and the effect
of these consumers towards the brand management. The author agrees with the research made by the
USC Marshall School of Business about this issue. This can be proved when his thought is always
parallel with the study. There are a few types of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The example of inductive reasoning is based on paragraph VII, he states the Gucci s brand use
bamboo on its product to discreet their uniqueness compared to the counterfeit items. Then the author
gives a few effects to the manufacturer if they do not make a brand ubiquitous such as Burberry faced
in the 1990s, when its trademark checked plaid became ubiquitous and was fashioned into everything.
Based on the article, we can make the inference that non patrician gives bad effect towards the brand
management. Because non patrician is the one who is willing to buy cheaper items to being updated as
long as they can afford it without bothering the quality.
Based on paragraph IV, we can conclude that there are 4 types of consumers which are patrician,
parvenus, poseurs and proletarians. Every consumers has their own desire and taste to follow the
trend. They want to be looked wealth by their belonging items. Thus, non patrician is the one who
contributes the most in counterfeiting as long as they follow the trend and being

Descartes Ontological Argument For The Existence Of God

Descartes Ontological Argument for the Existence of God
The Ontological Argument for the existence of God is an a priori argument that aims to demonstrate
that God s real world existence follows necessarily from the concept of God. In Meditation V of
Discourse on Methods and Meditations on First Philosophy, Descartes presents his version of the
Ontological Argument for the existence of God. In this essay, I will argue that this argument fails
because necessary existence for a concept does not entail its real world existence.
Descartes argument for the existence of God relies on two key assertions:
1. His understanding of God as an infinite, independent being.
2. His claim that existence is a perfection.
In Meditation III, Descartes clarifies his understanding of God to be a substance that is infinite,
eternal, immutable, independent, supremely intelligent, supremely powerful, and which created both
myself and everything else (if anything else there be) that exists. It is important to note that in
speaking of God as infinite, Descartes seems to mean that God is infinitely perfect. He asserts God, I
take to be actually infinite, so that nothing can be added to his perfection. (p. 32) Descartes
understands God as a uniquely infinite and independent entity that exists by its own nature. By
contrast, all other entities are finite and contingent beings that must depend on another entity for their
existence. This

The Effects Of Alcohol Abuse And Binge Drinking
College students will always encounter some type of problem during their college experience. A
problem can be something simple such as a lack of adequate parking or more complex such as sexual
harassment. A new report from Student Monitor asked college students to identify the biggest
problems on campus, and their top three answers were cost of education, stress, and alcohol abuse,
(Jacobs, 2014, p.1). College students will be affected by a number of problems during their college
career. As a professional in student affairs it is our duty to help students decrease their problems and
help them have a successful experience. Andrews University is experiencing one of the top three
biggest social issues on their campus, alcohol abuse and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be due to the fact that when students attend a four year college they most often are exposed
to new experiences, friends, and they may also have less parental supervision. Attending college can
be a major transition for young adults which in return can lead to trying new things such as, alcohol.
It is my job to change this social issue that has become a major problem on campus. The first step I
am going to take is make awareness of developing and enforcing alcohol campus policies. Colleges
and universities are mandated by the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989 to put into
practice a program to prevent the use of illicit drugs and the abuse of alcohol by students. (Marshall et
al, 2011). This is a great way to inform students about their college or university campus rules
regarding alcohol. Andrews University has policies set however, since alcohol abuse and binge
drinking is a major concern on campus, I will have to develop and reinforce these polices. When
developing and changing these policies it is important to remember to include the entire student body
as well as the surrounding community. Campuses typically have a diverse student population therefore
it is important to target approaches specifically to various groups (Anderson et al, 1997). For example,
messages and certain approaches regarding alcohol abuse will be different

In a period of six months, seven of the most dominant financial institutions in the country crashed.
Seven Goliaths were downed by stone shots right to the sweet spot but there were no Davids in this

that cut so deep that they crushed the American Dream for some with each passing day. In this essay I

downturn since the infamous Great Depression of the early 20th century.
The 1930s, the period of the Great Depression is perhaps the most unstable financial time in United

Disadvantages Of Strawberry Legs
Strawberry legs: Spoiler! How to get rid of it?
What Are Strawberry Legs?
Try observing a strawberry. Do you see the small seeds they have? You can notice black pores on your
legs after shaving that look similar. That is why this condition is called strawberry legs. Sometimes the
pores are hardly noticeable, and other times, they are so conspicuous that you start feeling self
conscious to show off your legs.
What are the causes of strawberry legs? Listed below are some potential causes of dark spots on legs:
Sun Exposure
Sun exposure is the top cause of dark spots on legs and other exposed parts of the skin. Our skin
contains special cells called melanocytes. These cells produce a pigment called melanin.
Melanin determines the color of our skin, eyes, and hair. Dark skinned individuals, for example, have
higher levels of melanin in the skin than their counterparts with light skin. Melanin also helps to
protect the skin against sun damage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because melanin is not always produced uniformly, a condition known as hyperpigmentation often
occurs.
This is manifested by dark spots on legs and other parts of the body. These spots are referred to as sun
spots, age spots, liver spots, or solar lentigines. Hyperpigmentation can affect anyone regardless of the
race or skin color.
Hormonal changes e.g. during pregnancy tend to enhance hyperpigmentation. It is thus even more
imperative to protect your skin while pregnant.
Aging
For most people, old age means years of accumulated sun damage. This usually manifests itself in
dark spots on legs, arms, and other exposed parts of the skin in old age. These patches tend to appear
after 40 years. They can occur on any exposed part of the skin including the lower

Extinction of Dinosaurs due to Asteroid Impact Essay
Extinction of Dinosaurs due to Asteroid Impact
Nobody knows for sure exactly how the dinosaurs became extinct. However scientists have speculated
for decades about possible events that caused the dinosaurs to die out. Possibilities range from
asteroids, to volcanoes, to climate changes. One of the more popular or well known extinction theories
involves the belief that an asteroid struck the Earth, causing devastating effects, and triggering mass
extinctions around the end of the Cretaceous period.
The asteroid impact extinction theory began in 1980 with Luis and Walter Alvarez, a father and son
team. They theorized that an asteroid struck the Earth at the close of the Cretaceous period, causing

Gerta Keller, professor of geosciences at Princeton University, has recently conducted research on the
Chicxulub asteroid in which she analyzed new core samples taken from the asteroid site (Botzer
2004). These samples indicate that the impact that occurred at Chicxulub actually predated the mass
extinction of the dinosaurs, which occurred at the Cretaceous Tertiary boundary about sixty five
million years ago. Keller claims that the Chicxulub impact occurred approximately 300,000 years
before the extinction (Keller 2004). Although previous researchers estimated that the Chicxulub
asteroid was the cause of the extinctions, there had always been doubts about the exact age and size of
the crater, and about the origin of the mega tsunami deposits that were located within the crater (Keller
2004). The focus of Keller s recent research was on finding some answers to these questions. To do so
she analyzed Cretaceous limestone, dolomite, and anhydrite deposits as the site of the Chicxulub
crater (Keller 2004).
The fossil deposits at the Chicxulub site suggest that the mineral layer in the crater was deposited after
the impact, but before the extinction of the dinosaurs and other species. Keller proposes two possible
explanations for this. The first explanation is that the sediments were deposited as the backwash of a
giant tsunami that occurred after the impact (Keller 2004).

Externalization In Mire
From Kumare we have seen how a religion or a set of beliefs can be created and maintained from
scratch. The person, Kumare, produced a set of ritual practices that included meditation (blue light
meditation) and yoga that he taught to his followers. He made himself into a clear symbol for his little
group. Form the film we learn that he made up or used previously created rituals to synthesis his very
own brand of religion. Using externalization, objectivation, and internalization as a basis into the
Kumare film, we see how his own religion was constructed socially by himself and more importantly
his disciples. Externalization is the continuing of the perception into the world, both in the physical
and mental sense. This is the process

Sports And Sports For Constructive Alternatives
This March, the Center for Constructive Alternatives series dealt with the topic of Sport and Character.
In today s age, sport and sporting events have become pinnacles of American entertainment, money,
and paparazzi. One is inundated with constant updates regarding football scores, feuds between
athletes, and controversy over refereeing. With sport being such a focus in media and society, it often
seems that sport and character are incompatible. Too often one sees an athlete get caught using illegal
performance enhancing drugs, having an affair, or lying and cheating. Sport appears to be just like any
other secular and commercial entertainment: decadent, impaired, and ultimately characterless. This

Novak then criticized the current news and sports media of today. Upset at how the media were
currently portraying sports, he derided the journalists as amateur social scientists. Instead of trying to
pigeon hole sports into some social science or social experiment , sport should be seen as rituals
concerning human survival on this planet: liturgical enactments of animal perfection and the struggles
of the human spirit to prevail. As Mr. Novak showcased throughout his lecture, sport captures the
struggle of man throughout history. This struggle is personified through the linebacker tackling the
halfback, the pitcher recomposing himself after giving up a run, or a runner shaking off cramping as
she attempts to complete the marathon. Sports are the human experience.
Mr. Schilling s talk set a tone unlike any other. That night, he presented a striking case for why
character is influenced by sport. Drawing on his own personal experiences, Mr. Schilling said that he
has come to learn that you can only gain wisdom through experiences. The experiences through sport
that Mr. Schilling went through ultimately lead to the formation of the man that he is today. Sport also
provides example of and experience with good leadership. Mr. Schilling talked about leadership,
noting that while anyone can be a leader, there are very few leaders in the world. Although Mr.

If a student performing lab 5 accidently used acetone as the reaction solvent instead of diethyl ether
the acetone will react with the Grignard reagent and form a tertiary alcohol. As mention earlier,
Grignard reaction is carried out by a solvent that stabilizes the Grignard reagent. So, diethyl ether are
aprotic as it cannot hydrogen bond with themselves therefore, it is capable to solvate and stabilize the
reagent with the helped of Mg Br bond containing partial positive charge and the diethyl ether C O
bond containing partial negative charge. Whereas, acetone which is a polar solvent as well as aprotic
could not be used because the electrophilic double bond on the carbonyl carbon would attack the
nucleophilic Grignard reagent giving a tertiary product. Acetone is a simplest form of ketone and as
mention earlier, ketone reacted with Grignard reagent form tertiary alcohol as their final product.
Thus, it is very important that the solvent should not only be polar and aprotic as well as have the
ability to stabilize the Grignard reagent by acting as Lewis base. Acetone is not capable of stabilizing
the reagent leading it to react with

Why I Don t Go For A Run
A lot of people dislike running and the thought of getting up super early in the morning to go for a run
can seem even more daunting. However, I hold a different view because if I don t go for an early
morning run, I feel tired and terrible for the whole day. It all began in high school, when i joined Cross
country and track in my freshmen year. I really started to enjoy running and was quite good at it.
During winter break, we didn t have practices and we were supposed to run on our own. Therefore, I
used to make time to run in the evenings everyday during the break. One day on break, I was supposed
to be busy the whole day and decided that I wouldn t find time to run, so I decided to wake up early
and finish my run. This was one of the best decisions I had ever made, because It helped me
developed a good habit that i follow till this day and helps me stay healthy. That morning getting up
was hard but once I got out of the bed it was easy. I drank a glass of water and ate a banana. Since it
was winter, I also put on my gloves and a warm hat. With my bright blue shoes laced up, i left my
house and the experience I had is the reason I wake up early to run everyday. Right off the bat during
my run, it felt strange. There were no sounds of cars! It was oddly quiet except for a few birds
chirping here and there. It felt really peaceful. There was a mild fog that made the scene even more
interesting. Since it was winter the houses were decorated with Christmas lights as well

Most developed nations do not consider GMOs to be safe. In more than 60 countries around the world,
including Australia, Japan, and all of the countries in the European Union, there are significant
restrictions or outright bans on the production and sale of GMOs. In the U.S., the government has
approved GMOs based on studies conducted by the same corporations that created them and profit
from their sale. Increasingly, Americans are taking matters into their own hands and choosing to opt

The answer to whether they are good or not is: It depends on the situation (Carroll, 2015). There is a
great debate going on right now on the subject of genetically modified foods, or GMOs. For some, the
idea of GMO food is a good one because the modifications allow crops to become resistant to drought
and infestations, letting more people have more regular meals. Some research even shows that the
world produces 17% more food than it needs to produce to provide each current human with three
squares per day (Healthcare Articles and Infographics, 2013)! Others look at genetically modified
foods as a dangerous proposition. From allergic reactions to potential intestinal damage, many people
wish to avoid GMO foods because of animal studies that have shown changes in internal cell
structure, abnormal tumor growth, and unexpected deaths that have occurred (Healthcare Articles and
Infographics, 2013). By 2050, farmers must produce 40% more food to feed an estimated 9 billion
people on the planet. Either current yields will have to increase or farmland will expand farther into
forests and jungles. In some cases, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) would offer an alternative
way to boost yields without sacrificing more land or using more pesticides (Maxmen, 2013). Soy, corn
and cotton are the most common genetically modified crops. In the late 1990s, the agriculture

The Land Of Opportunity By Loewen
Millennials form the majority of the United States population, outnumbering Baby Boomers by eleven
million. Higher education is now more crucial for securing a middle class lifestyle than ever before,
yet for the majority, the cost for a bachelor s degree has become prohibitively expensive. In The Land
of Opportunity , Loewen contends that high school education methodically avoids a critical dialogue
of socioeconomic inequality in America. The social class to which a student belongs greatly influences
their capacity for upward mobility. If higher education is a requirement for improved economic status,
then students in the lower class are already disadvantaged. Loewen quotes Theodore Sizer, If you are
the child of low income parents, the chances are good that you will receive limited and often careless
attention from adults in your high school (qtd. in Loewen, 203). High school students cannot look to
the classroom to prepare them for real world power dynamics. If left to their own devices, adolescents
may be influenced by skewed allegories in fictional entertainment media. Parents must use
educational resources to prompt critical thinking about socioeconomic inequality in order to prepare
America s youth for securing their futures. Though there may be little to no exposure to these ideas in
the classroom, students will encounter them as they consume mass entertainment media. Social class
disparity has long been a reoccurring theme in film. Adolescents and young adults

Essay about History of the Eartly Christian Church
Throughout the early centuries of the church s existence, the Roman government suppressed the
spread of Christianity. Many emperors did their absolute best to try to stop the Christian populace
from spreading with none succeeding (demonstrated by the fact that Christianity is still in existence
today). It was not until 322 A.D. when Constantine united all of Europe under his throne that
Christianity could be spread without threat of persecution. Under Constantine, Christianity, in terms of
numerically, thrived. Councils were held, doctrine developed, and great strides were taken in order to
have Christianity be one catholic church. However, in the next couple centuries, the church would

The eastern half of the empire believed that the center of the church should be located in
Constantinople with the emperor, but the western half believed that Rome should be the center of
church life. Rome believed that the church center should be located there because, according to the
bishops of Rome, Peter is claimed to have been the first bishop of Rome. Therefore, since Peter, who
was given the keys to the church by Jesus, was the first bishop of Rome, the Roman Bishop was over
the other bishops and was the head of the church at large. Under this truth, various bishops have risen
to power with eventually taking on the title of Pope.
The first Roman Bishop to claim direct Apostolic succession from Peter was
Damasus I. Damasus went to great lengths to attempt to convince the other churches and cities of this
so called truth but to no avail. However, his work was not in vain. The next bishop of Rome, Siricus,
held the same stance as Damasus; however, he took the desire for authority from the other cities
farther. Siricus claimed inherent authority without consideration of the
Scriptures. He believed that because he was Bishop of Rome, he was a direct descendant of Peter
(instead of simply having the same position as Peter), which, according to Siricus, gave him authority
over the rest of the church as Peter was supposedly given. In addition to Siricus belief in his authority,
he also was the first bishop to give himself the title of

The Great Fire of London was an enormous fire that burned down almost all of London. It started on

of where the famous bakery was (Eyewitness 1). The city thought the bakery was the most up to date
thing at the time, so no one ever perceived it catching aflame as a possibility. At one o clock in the
morning, a servant woke to find the bakery aflame, and the baker and his family escaped, but a fear
struck maid perished in the blaze (Jokinen 1). The baker escaped unharmed but, did not tell any of the
bystanders about the timely growing fire. This would just be the beginning of a colossal fire that
would test the city of London.

The fire was put out on Pie Corner where also a monument stands in honor of the fire that burned
down London (Eyewitness 2). The fact that the fire burned down a bakery to begin and end with is
ironic in part to the fire could have started anywhere. The city of London would be in what is called
today as a rebuilding era, because eighty percent of the infrastructure in the city burned down
(National 2). The fire would was not well documented due to everything that was written about the
fire was burnt in the fire. The Great Fire of London may have not been well recorded, but only the
victims would know the real effects of the

There are numerous numbers of novels and books that offer different portrayals of the female gender
and femininity in the early nineteenth century, each novel shedding a different light on women, their
gender role, and the definition of femininity during this time period. The first thought that pops into
most people s minds is Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman or any Jane
Austen novel. People do not typically think of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Nonetheless Frankenstein
offers us the reader an extremely well portrayal of the female gender in the early nineteenth century
while also providing us with the cautionary tell on why no man should ever attempt to play God for
the reason that only God can play God. In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In more common terms femininity is to be passive, eager to please, male dependent, and
unenlightened. However the characteristic of femininity and being a women most stressed is that
women and femininity are own by men and masculinity, in short all women belong to men. While
reading her daughter, Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein it can be argued that she used Wollstonecraft
s definition of femininity to create characters such as Elizabeth Lavenza, Justine Moritz, and Caroline
Frankenstein. Each of these female characters displays more than one of the characteristics of
femininity. One character that displays all of the characteristics is Elizabeth Lavenza. Elizabeth is the
only female character to appear in all three volumes of the novel. She is also the cousin, and wife to
Frankenstein s main character Victor. She embodies every characteristic of femininity and the female
gender described by Wollstonecraft. This description of Elizabeth is She was docile and good
tempered, yet gay and playful as a summer insect. . (Shelley, Pg. 20) That was Victor s description of
Elizabeth when they were children; she remains that way throughout the entirety of the novel. That
quotation easily supports Wollstonecraft s argument that women are taught from infancy that they are
to remain docile. The description describes Elizabeth as being

A Source Of Ongoing Confusion
There are many fonts named Garamond and it s a source of ongoing confusion. What most Garamond
fonts have in common is that they are more or less accurate reconstruction either of a type cut by
Claude Garamond in the late 15th century, or of a type cut by Jean Jannon in the mid 16th century.
Claude Garamond was born in Paris, France 1490. He began his career through obtaining an
apprenticeship with a Parisian punch cutter and printer, Antoine Augereau, a protestant printer and
scholar whom is similar to Geoffroy Tory; which promoted the usage of human oriented Europe s
Roman s type instead of the Gothic black letters that popular among the French printers. When he was
around 20 years old. During the early phase of the 16th century Garamond found that in order for the
typography industry to function it needs the cooperation of various unique and multi talented
individuals, thus being able to create a well printed and bound book. The printers of this era were able
and talented individuals that were able to master, if not all, most of the artistic or technical skills
concerning the process of book production. This could range from type design to the fundamental of
bookbinding. Claude Garamond became one of the few to specialize in punch cutting, type design,
and type founding, which he display his skill in Paris to several famous publishers. After his fame
became more evident in Europe, Garamond was commissioned by King Francois I of France to create
a Greek typeface.

Health Information Exchange And The Medical Record And...
Interoperability means the ability to share the medical record and exchange of data between
information systems, which helps to achieve quality care. What is health information exchange? It is
aimed to provide a complete view of patient s information for clinicians who have the responsibility to
make decisions for treatment for the better outcome. HIEs would enable the sharing of record between
doctors offices, hospitals and laboratories, and security levels would be determined by the level of
data needing to be exchanged. One thing is for real there is no perfect world. HIEs are happening, it is
up to the EHRs and administrators to figure out how best to assist the process. We all should know the
reason for HIEs is to improve patient outcome, design new patient care and delivery system and
decrease the cost of medical care. About 75 million Americans suffer from multiple chronic
conditions, which means they require multiple providers for their care. HIEs is the key like these
situations for proper diagnosis and there should be adequate communications between the providers.
They require communication or exchange of data for coordination of care for this patient. In these
instances, health care providers and patients frequently lack pertinent and useful information where
treatment decisions are made. In today s advanced technology, EHRs offer the substantial part to
capture and share health information. The vendors, IT developers, and coordinators of health

How Is Mr Ware Character Analysis
Mr. Warren is a very interesting and unique character who appears in the short story A Kind of Murder
by Hugh Pentecost. The new teacher, Mr. Warren comes to Morgan Military Academy to replace a
chemistry teacher who died halfway through the term. As a partially deaf man, he finds it hard to
adjust to the new school, especially since he came in the middle of the term. The strict academy does
not promote his physical condition at all, and he isn t treated well because of that. Mr. Warren gets
pushed around but chooses not to confront the challenges posed upon him by others. That s his own
way of showing courage. His beliefs may be peculiar, but if anyone knows anything about courage, it
d be him. Mr. Warren may not present himself in the best light, but he s definitely a man who
showcases bravery, empathy, and kindness at times. Physically, Mr. Warren is a skinny man with
stooped shoulders and tattered clothes. His posture doesn t do him much justice. It demonstrates a lack
of confidence in himself. The way Mr. Warren dresses shows that he is not a very wealthy man at all.
He wears summer topcoats in the middle of Winter, uses borrowed shorts, and owns the same black
shoes and black socks. Maybe he saves his money, but the clothes he wears definitely points to a lack
of wealth. Despite his state of finance, Mr. Warren is always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Warren can be seen by most as a weak, poor, and hopeless man on the surface, but know that he has a
lot more depth than that. People judging Mr. Warren based on how he appears is how Mr. Warren died
in the first place. Even when he acted with true heart, Mr. Warren was still oppressed by almost
everyone he knew. No matter how courageous you are on the inside, being bullied from every corner
can have a big effect on you. It s not his fault that his career at Morgan Military Academy ended the
way it did, because despite his best efforts, Mr. Warren cannot convince the pupils of the school that
he is a good

Technical And Administrative Vulnerabilities
Vulnerability
The United States critical infrastructures normally utilize both private and public networks. Public
network risks are well known; however, private networks can be just as vulnerable. Many people
believe they are safe by using private networks; however, the number of vulnerabilities is increasing
quickly. Despite the increasing risks, the United States critical infrastructures require a high level of
expertise in order to exploit due to their highly customized control systems.
There are two types of vulnerabilities we face at our company today, technical and administrative
vulnerabilities. Technical vulnerabilities consist of improper configuration of software and hardware, a

Reflection On Group Processes And Dynamics Essay
A Reflection on Group Processes and Dynamics
Working within a group or team is unavoidable for most people. We are involved in sports teams,
assignment groups, work teams, social groups and a variety of other groups and teams. Each of these
groups share one thing in common, that is each requires us to communicate in some way in order to
reach a shared goal or target. Therefore, it is imperative to know and understand how to work and
communicate effectively with others to maximise outcomes and productivity.
Tuckman proposes that groups develop via five stages; forming, storming, norming, performing and
finally adjourning (Archee, Gurney, Mohan, 2013a). The first stage, known as forming, involves
clarifying the task and purpose of the group, and identifying boundaries of both the task and
interpersonal behaviour (Archee et al., 2013a). For the presentation task we were randomly allocated
into groups. This worried me greatly as I have struggled in the past with group members who do not
contribute equally or see the task as important as other group members. To avoid this problem, the
group collectively determined and agreed upon a number of ground rules. For example, we decided
that all group members were expected to contribute equally to the presentation, all group members
were expected to attend and contribute at all group meetings, and all group members would adhere to
agreed upon deadlines. Having failed to do this in previous group assignments, this clarification stage

Due to sound symbolism, among other factors, a person s name could potentially affect his or her personality. This is because outside perceptions of one can influence one s self perception (Deluzain). In his book about psychology, Alter mentions every name is associated with demographic baggage (Drunk Tank Pink 9). Different policies to improve the income inequality and also procure an economic growth include land reform, redistribution of saving and investment, education for all, progressive taxation, public expenditures from tax revenues and birth control. Some people think that there existed a trade off between growth and equity. They think that distributing income too equally would undermine incentives and thus lower everyone s income. However, if the Arabs won, it could have started a chain reaction causing the Byzantine Empire to dissolve and jump start the Arab expansion into England 700 years early. The Byzantine Empire fought wars differently then most at the time. Instead of using mass amounts of soldiers to overwhelm the enemy, the Byzantines used strategy and intelligence gathering to find their enemies weaknesses and expose them. The genius of Byzantine grand strategy was to turn the very multiplicity of enemies to advantage, by employing diplomacy, deception, payoffs, and religious conversion to induce them to fight one another instead of fighting the empire. ... In the Byzantine scheme of things, military strength was subordinated to diplomacy instead of the other way around, and used mostly to contain, punish, or intimidate rather than to attack or defend in full force. Another aspect of the British perspective is that Indians are being treated as inferiors to the British in their own country, because if it were not for the British, the social and political order in India will descend into chaos. Adela s reaction reinforces the picture that the author draws of how Indians are being treated improperly, despite the fact that they show all sort of respect towards the British colonialists. Adela s reaction also provides a clarification that not every British colonialist thinks that Indians should be treated as inferiors to the British, which serves the author well as it questions the validity of the author s betrayal to his country. We were marched for around an hour to a group of tents away from the main camp. They told us that this was where we were staying, which was odd. Everyone else was in cabins, while we were given tents. • 20. Bodybuilding And The Subculture Of Bodybuilding Introduction Bodybuilding is the process that involves development of muscle fibers which is facilitated through special exercises, increased diet (calorie) as well as having the recommended amount of rest. I believe that in the current century bodybuilders have formed subcultures that are very unique in the sense that they have their own values, beliefs as well as traditions that are enshrined within their cultural provisions. Description of the Subculture This paper is basically going to look into the subculture of bodybuilding. The field site will be the local gym where those who are involved in bodybuilding do train. In most cases, I do interact with the trainees at the local gym and therefore this is indeed a strategic fit for my research as the environment presumably is friendly. Consequently, these are people who I have interacted with before and as such they are very friendly. This would really provide me with an ample time so that I could undertake my research in the best possible way. It is important for us to understand the subculture that we are to cover. By bodybuilding, I mean the drive that individuals have so as to maintain the perfect physique as well as ensuring that they have low fat levels in their bodies. It is true that all that is involved in bodybuilding is hardcore. Most people often enroll for the bodybuilding so that they could have an appealing physical outlook. Bodybuilding makes the muscles to expand and as such those involved with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. A Common Motif Of Mutual Death Essay We are all the same, no one is better no one is less. We are all struggling to survive; be kind. That s the rhetoric my parents so heavily ingrained in my mind. I was raised to take this passive ideology and grow my life out of well intended passivism. Same became the degradation of different; Struggles became insignificant and rooted in the pretense that everyone faces the same challenges. So, I went through the motions stagnant and unmoved. Racism became unreal, unfathomable and unlogical. I looked at St. Louis, my home, without truly seeing the deep existence of division the deep truth of what it really holds. Like the Van Boucle painting, a common motif of mutual death can be seen in the life of my home town. His strokes paint dead turkeys all vaguely touching each other, as they are set up in different positions. Some are further away from others, but all are at least a part of a pair. Like this image, the oil spills into blood and death touches us all; linking our existence; linking the streets of St. Louis. Separate is not equal Brown v. • 22. Type Of Luxury Consumers By Robert Frank In the article Type of Luxury Consumers , the author, Robert Frank, tries to deal with the issue of the behaviour of luxury consumers. He introduces the readers that the consumers will spend their money lavishly to show wealth and status based on their economic ability. They are willing to buy expensive items with a good branding compared to the low end product that lack of explicit markers. The author argues every type of luxury consumer has their own desire and taste to follow the trend and the effect of these consumers towards the brand management. The author agrees with the research made by the USC Marshall School of Business about this issue. This can be proved when his thought is always parallel with the study. There are a few types of ... Based on the article, we can make the inference that non patrician gives bad effect towards the brand management. Because non patrician is the one who is willing to buy cheaper items to being updated as long as they can afford it without bothering the quality. Based on paragraph IV, we can conclude that there are 4 types of consumers which are patrician, parvenus, poseurs and proletarians. Every consumers has their own desire and taste to follow the trend. • 23. Descartes Ontological Argument For The Existence Of God Section 6 Matthew Shields Word Count: 10/30/2014 Descartes Ontological Argument for the Existence of God The Ontological Argument for the existence of God is an a priori argument that aims to demonstrate that God s real world existence follows necessarily from the concept of God. In Meditation V of Discourse on Methods and Meditations on First Philosophy, Descartes presents his version of the Ontological Argument for the existence of God. In this essay, I will argue that this argument fails because necessary existence for a concept does not entail its real world existence. Descartes argument for the existence of God relies on two key assertions: 1. His understanding of God as an infinite, independent being. 2. His claim that existence is a perfection. In Meditation III, Descartes clarifies his understanding of God to be a substance that is infinite, eternal, immutable, independent, supremely intelligent, supremely powerful, and which created both myself and everything else (if anything else there be) that exists. It is important to note that in speaking of God as infinite, Descartes seems to mean that God is infinitely perfect. He asserts God, I take to be actually infinite, so that nothing can be added to his perfection. (p. 32) Descartes understands God as a uniquely infinite and independent entity that exists by its own nature. By contrast, all other entities are finite and contingent beings that must depend on another entity for their existence. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This can be due to the fact that when students attend a four year college they most often are exposed to new experiences, friends, and they may also have less parental supervision. Attending college can be a major transition for young adults which in return can lead to trying new things such as, alcohol. It is my job to change this social issue that has become a major problem on campus. The first step I am going to take is make awareness of developing and enforcing alcohol campus policies. Colleges and universities are mandated by the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989 to put into practice a program to prevent the use of illicit drugs and the abuse of alcohol by students. (Marshall et al, 2011). This is a great way to inform students about their college or university campus rules regarding alcohol. Andrews University has policies set however, since alcohol abuse and binge drinking is a major concern on campus, I will have to develop and reinforce these polices. When developing and changing these policies it is important to remember to include the entire student body as well as the surrounding community. Campuses typically have a diverse student population therefore it is important to target approaches specifically to various groups (Anderson et al, 1997). You can notice black pores on your legs after shaving that look similar. That is why this condition is called strawberry legs. Sometimes the pores are hardly noticeable, and other times, they are so conspicuous that you start feeling self conscious to show off your legs. What are the causes of strawberry legs? Listed below are some potential causes of dark spots on legs: Sun Exposure Sun exposure is the top cause of dark spots on legs and other exposed parts of the skin. Our skin contains special cells called melanocytes. These cells produce a pigment called melanin. Melanin determines the color of our skin, eyes, and hair. Gerta Keller, professor of geosciences at Princeton University, has recently conducted research on the Chicxulub asteroid in which she analyzed new core samples taken from the asteroid site (Botzer 2004). These samples indicate that the impact that occurred at Chicxulub actually predated the mass extinction of the dinosaurs, which occurred at the Cretaceous Tertiary boundary about sixty five million years ago. Keller claims that the Chicxulub impact occurred approximately 300,000 years before the extinction (Keller 2004). Although previous researchers estimated that the Chicxulub asteroid was the cause of the extinctions, there had always been doubts about the exact age and size of the crater, and about the origin of the mega tsunami deposits that were located within the crater (Keller 2004). The focus of Keller s recent research was on finding some answers to these questions. To do so she analyzed Cretaceous limestone, dolomite, and anhydrite deposits as the site of the Chicxulub crater (Keller 2004). The fossil deposits at the Chicxulub site suggest that the mineral layer in the crater was deposited after the impact, but before the extinction of the dinosaurs and other species. Keller proposes two possible explanations for this. The first explanation is that the sediments were deposited as the backwash of a giant tsunami that occurred after the impact (Keller 2004). ... So, diethyl ether are aprotic as it cannot hydrogen bond with themselves therefore, it is capable to solvate and stabilize the reagent with the helped of Mg Br bond containing partial positive charge and the diethyl ether C O bond containing partial negative charge. Some research even shows that the world produces 17% more food than it needs to produce to provide each current human with three squares per day (Healthcare Articles and Infographics, 2013)! Higher education is now more crucial for securing a middle class lifestyle than ever before, yet for the majority, the cost for a bachelor s degree has become prohibitively expensive. In The Land of Opportunity , Loewen contends that high school education methodically avoids a critical dialogue of socioeconomic inequality in America. The social class to which a student belongs greatly influences their capacity for upward mobility. If higher education is a requirement for improved economic status, then students in the lower class are already disadvantaged. Loewen quotes Theodore Sizer, If you are the child of low income parents, the chances are good that you will receive limited and often careless attention from adults in your high school (qtd. in Loewen, 203). High school students cannot look to the classroom to prepare them for real world power dynamics. Each of these female characters displays more than one of the characteristics of femininity. One character that displays all of the characteristics is Elizabeth Lavenza. Elizabeth is the only female character to appear in all three volumes of the novel. She is also the cousin, and wife to Frankenstein s main character Victor. She embodies every characteristic of femininity and the female gender described by Wollstonecraft. This description of Elizabeth is She was docile and good tempered, yet gay and playful as a summer insect. . (Shelley, Pg. 20) That was Victor s description of Elizabeth when they were children; she remains that way throughout the entirety of the novel. That quotation easily supports Wollstonecraft s argument that women are taught from infancy that they are to remain docile. The description describes Elizabeth as being ... • 41. A Source Of Ongoing Confusion There are many fonts named Garamond and it s a source of ongoing confusion. What most Garamond fonts have in common is that they are more or less accurate reconstruction either of a type cut by Claude Garamond in the late 15th century, or of a type cut by Jean Jannon in the mid 16th century. Claude Garamond was born in Paris, France 1490. He began his career through obtaining an apprenticeship with a Parisian punch cutter and printer, Antoine Augereau, a protestant printer and scholar whom is similar to Geoffroy Tory; which promoted the usage of human oriented Europe s Roman s type instead of the Gothic black letters that popular among the French printers. When he was around 20 years old. During the early phase of the 16th century Garamond found that in order for the typography industry to function it needs the cooperation of various unique and multi talented individuals, thus being able to create a well printed and bound book. The printers of this era were able and talented individuals that were able to master, if not all, most of the artistic or technical skills concerning the process of book production. This could range from type design to the fundamental of bookbinding. Claude Garamond became one of the few to specialize in punch cutting, type design, and type founding, which he display his skill in Paris to several famous publishers. Interoperability means the ability to share the medical record and exchange of data between information systems, which helps to achieve quality care. What is health information exchange? It is aimed to provide a complete view of patient s information for clinicians who have the responsibility to make decisions for treatment for the better outcome. HIEs would enable the sharing of record between doctors offices, hospitals and laboratories, and security levels would be determined by the level of data needing to be exchanged. One thing is for real there is no perfect world. HIEs are happening, it is up to the EHRs and administrators to figure out how best to assist the process. We all should know the reason for HIEs is to improve patient outcome, design new patient care and delivery system and decrease the cost of medical care. • 43. How Is Mr Ware Character Analysis Mr. Warren is a very interesting and unique character who appears in the short story A Kind of Murder by Hugh Pentecost. The new teacher, Mr. Warren comes to Morgan Military Academy to replace a chemistry teacher who died halfway through the term. As a partially deaf man, he finds it hard to adjust to the new school, especially since he came in the middle of the term. The strict academy does not promote his physical condition at all, and he isn t treated well because of that. Mr. Warren gets pushed around but chooses not to confront the challenges posed upon him by others. That s his own way of showing courage. His beliefs may be peculiar, but if anyone knows anything about courage, it d be him. Mr. Warren may not present himself in the best light, but he s definitely a man who showcases bravery, empathy, and kindness at times. Physically, Mr. Warren is a skinny man with stooped shoulders and tattered clothes. His posture doesn t do him much justice. It demonstrates a lack of confidence in himself. The way Mr. Warren dresses shows that he is not a very wealthy man at all. He wears summer topcoats in the middle of Winter, uses borrowed shorts, and owns the same black shoes and black socks. Maybe he saves his money, but the clothes he wears definitely points to a lack of wealth. Despite his state of finance, Mr. Warren is always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People judging Mr. Warren based on how he appears is how Mr. Warren died in the first place. Even when he acted with true heart, Mr. Warren was still oppressed by almost everyone he knew. No matter how courageous you are on the inside, being bullied from every corner can have a big effect on you. It s not his fault that his career at Morgan Military Academy ended the way it did, because despite his best efforts, Mr. Warren cannot convince the pupils of the school that he is a good ... • 45. Reflection On Group Processes And Dynamics Essay A Reflection on Group Processes and Dynamics Working within a group or team is unavoidable for most people. We are involved in sports teams, assignment groups, work teams, social groups and a variety of other groups and teams. Each of these groups share one thing in common, that is each requires us to communicate in some way in order to reach a shared goal or target. Therefore, it is imperative to know and understand how to work and communicate effectively with others to maximise outcomes and productivity. Tuckman proposes that groups develop via five stages; forming, storming, norming, performing and finally adjourning (Archee, Gurney, Mohan, 2013a). The first stage, known as forming, involves clarifying the task and purpose of the group, and identifying boundaries of both the task and interpersonal behaviour (Archee et al., 2013a). For the presentation task we were randomly allocated into groups. This worried me greatly as I have struggled in the past with group members who do not contribute equally or see the task as important as other group members. To avoid this problem, the group collectively determined and agreed upon a number of ground rules. For example, we decided that all group members were expected to contribute equally to the presentation, all group members were expected to attend and contribute at all group meetings, and all group members would adhere to agreed upon deadlines. Having failed to do this in previous group assignments, this clarification stage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
