Animal Husbandry And Hygiene Behaviors Associated With...
Calf diarrhea or scours is a commonly reported disease and a significant cause of economic losses and
decreasing productivity of dairy producers. Disease prevention and management is important from
both a calf and public health perspective due to positive association between exposure to domestic
animals and human diarrheal disease. The aim of the community report and scientific review is to
identify the zoonotic enteric diseases of neonatal calves and identify animal husbandry and hygiene
behaviors associated with calf rearing linked to infection and outline recommended interventions to
mitigate the transmission to people working in the dairy industry. This topic is relevant as it s

Cryptosporidium is wide spread in Australian dairy calves with prevalence as high as 100% in some
herds. Infected calves can be asymptomatic, however, typical clinical signs include: loose, watery
diarrhea, straining, anorexia, weight loss, depression, dehydration. Humans can be infected either
directly or indirectly by consuming food or water contaminated with ooysts or by inadequate hand
washing practices after exposure to infective feces or animals. Many people do not develop illness
after exposure. Individuals with the greatest susceptibility to cryptosporidiosis include the young
childeren, elderly, malnourished, disease impaired (i.e. those with diabetes, or chronic disease), and a
broad group of immunocompromised individuals (i.e. AIDS patients, transplant recipients, and those
receiving chemotherapy) who may become infected with lower number oocysts. For those individuals
that show clinical signs, explosive watery diarrhea and abdominal pain are common. Vomiting,
nausea, fever, and muscle cramps can also occur. The symptoms usually resolve in 7 to 14 days in an
immunocompetent host. Oocyte excretion may continue to occur for up to an additional 1 to 4 weeks
post resolution of clinical signs. Cryptosporidium are able to survive for prolonged periods in the
environment under favorable conditions (temperatures from 0°C to 65°C) and are resistant to most
common disinfectants (including chlorine bleaches and alcohol). Cryptosporidium loses its infectivity

The Glass Castle Stylistic Analysis
Dream big or be realistic Some people don t like to dream big for they just choose to be realistic,
however being realistic is a good thing. In my opinion, i believe that being realistic is the best option
you can have. For example, in the novel The glass castle the little girl will always think about the glass
castle she would live in, however she ended up living in an apartment in New York City. This made
her realize that was just one of her dreams and that it won t come true because of this, she would
always predict what would happen before it occurred. Being able to see things how they really are is
good. For example, my sister would always be getting after me because i will always expect great
things from the future, however

Abolish Death Penalty
Fifty eight countries in the world participate in the use of the death penalty, in 2010 the United States

The death penalty is inhumane and you can argue it violates the constitution by using cruel and
unusual punishments, that said The death penalty has many flaws with the system and it it should be
abolished because it has a risk of discrimination and wrongful execution, it is not effective, and the

The death penalty was established in the eighteenth century BC, two main reasons the death penalty
was put into place was with the hope of reducing capital crime because of the result being in death and
the believe that criminals who did a crime so bad that qualify for death row did not deserve to live, but
that system is no longer believed to be effective anymore. According to U.S Newswire fifty seven
percent of police chiefs agreed that the death penalty does little to prevent violent crimes because
perpetrators rarely consider the consequences when engaged in violence(2). The death penalty is also
ineffective because ninety percent of offenders can not afford an adequate criminal defence lawyer.
This shows that only ten percent of offenders are getting the right defence against higher punishments
and charges. Some people argue that the death penalty is effective because people who qualify for
death row deserve to die, but many can also argue that the death row violates the constitution by using
inhuman and crucial punishments. People also use the quote An eye for an eye but would anyone
really be left on earth if that was the case? Times are different now then they were back in the

Rose For Emily
In William Faulkner s short story A Rose for Emily the story of an eccentric southern aristocrat from
the view of the community she lives in. the story opens with the death of the main character, Miss
Emily Grierson. Faulkner described Miss Emily s life circumstances through a series of flash backs.
Faulkner explains his story is an example of a person having their hopes and aspirations for their life
dashed over time, and only later to realize how through poor decision making, they have broken every
value and belief they hold, then proceeding to punish themselves indefinitely.
Brooks and Warren begin by approaching the story from the psychological mindset of Miss Emily.
They point out without finding the meaning behind Miss Emily s actions, the story is merely a story of
abnormal psychology. By being able to understand where the motives came from for Miss Emily s
actions the reader is much more able to see that Miss Emily was not just a mentally disturbed
individual with no real cause for her condition. The idea that Miss Emily refuses to submit to the

Fetterley contends that the story is that of a male dominated past and future, and a woman who is
oppressed and victimized by her society systems. In life, Miss Emily s father had been able to keep
her as a possession and control her life. In his death, the community of Jefferson stepped into that role.
Miss Emily was more considered as an object than a person to most everyone her entire life. Fetterley
points out the real wrong done to Miss Emily was in making her a Miss . In the act of making Emily a
lady certain characteristics and beliefs are immediately associated with Miss Emily. It is these beliefs
of what a lady is and does that allows Miss Emily to murder Homer with poison bought at the drug
store without so much as a raised eyebrow. The thought of a lady committing murder never crosses the

Rachel Carson An Environmental Activist
Those who dwell as scientist or laymen, among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone

In 1932 she received a master s degree in zoology from Johns Hopkins University. She worked for the
Bureau of Fisheries to writing radio scripts and she wrote articles on natural history for the Baltimore

for the U.S. fish and wildlife service (Linda Lear). Not only was Carson an environmental activist, she
was a writer, a poet and she was family oriented. In 1953 Carson put her life on hold to support her
mother and her sister s two daughters that were orphans (biography.com). When going back to support
her mother in Southport Island, Maine, Carson made a friend named Dorothy Freeman that would last
the rest of her life. They had a very close friendship that some described as a romantic friendship .
Carson and Freeman both had a passion for nature. There is a book written by Freeman s
granddaughter in 1995 as Always, Rachel: The Letters of Rachel Carson and Dorothy Freeman, 1952

What is communication? We often define communication as the act of talking to one another via
different platforms, be it face to face, via emails or even through videos. Through this act, we are
trying to pass a message or relate something to the intended audience. We face this every day in our
lives, even if we do not leave the house and talk to anyone. For example, even reading a cooking
recipe is counted as a form of communication. It is a form of communication between the reader and
the writer. The reader is trying to comprehend and follow the steps given by the writer whereas the
writer would be writing in a form whereby the steps is simple yet precise. So here are some

Many people would know of this unfortunate incident, but not many would know that it was probably
the cause of an ineffective communication. The incident goes as follows, In July of 1945, the allied
leaders had a meeting in Potsdam and they submitted a stiffly worded declaration of surrender terms
to the Japanese. These terms had included a statement to the effect that any negative answer would
invite prompt and utter destruction. The allied leaders (Harry S Truman, Winston Churchill and Stalin)
also stated that they hoped that Japan would agree to surrender unconditionally and prevent
devastation of the Japanese homeland and that they patiently awaited Japan s answer. This was known
as the Potsdam Declaration. The Japanese Premier at that time, Kantaro Suzuki answered using the
Japanese word mokusatsu , which is derived from the word for silence . Yet, this word had a second
meaning which also means not worthy of comment . In the heat of the moment, the meaning was
thought to be the second one, which may be true as the Japanese were very prideful, as we can see
from the Kamikaze spirit. To rather die than be captured. After the allied leaders knew of this reply,

Alcoholics Anonymous ( A.a )
Founded in 1935, Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) is a 12 step spiritual program for those who have a
desire to stop drinking. It is open to all those who seek help all over the world. Thousands of
alcoholics have become victorious because of the spiritual foundation it was built on. In 1939 the first
book, Alcoholics Anonymous, was published. It held all of the struggles and hope filled stories of
some of the first alcoholics that joined the group. This book, later called The Big Book , would lay
down all of the suggestions for an alcoholic if he or she wanted to live a sober life. The program
focuses on the 12 steps to help newcomers adjust to this way of life. Upon entering the program, it is
suggested that the newcomer pick a sponsor to help guide them through the steps. Furthermore,
service work within the fellowship is also recommended. The sole purpose of Alcoholics Anonymous
is to help someone achieve sobriety. As a non alcoholic, it is easy to look at a fellowship as big as A.A.
and think there may be other motives. There is no other purpose in A.A. In the Big Book, it states, Our
primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. To have any other
mission would be to destroy the foundation this program was built on. Alcoholic Anonymous is for
any sex, race and religious background. The program targets anyone with an alcohol problem. In some

Thales Of Miletus And The Elastic School Of Philosophy
From Thales of Miletus, the first ancient Greek philosopher, to Socrates and Aristotle, ancient Greek
philosophy has set the standard for modern intellectual and rational thought. They developed new
ways of reasoning and logic to explain the natural phenomena that surround them. Reality, existence,
and the essence of things were the basis of what these philosophers sought to rationalize. In this paper,
I will be discussing the epistemology and ontology presented by The Eleatics, the Pluralists, and The
Atomists. These three Pre Socratic schools often opposed one another s epistemological and
ontological views. However, each critic resulted in even more theories and laws that we still use to
this day. Their works also improved the standard for argument which became of great use to the future
Classical and modern philosophers.
The Eleatics
The Elastic School of Philosophy, established by Parmenides in the fifth century, was best known for
the development of early philosophers including Zeno of Elea and Xenophanes of Colophon. The
Elastics works often pointed to their use of logic and reason rather than sense experience to find the
ultimate truths . These ultimate truths were concerned with the Being and Becoming of things rather
than the origin of the things themselves. In this section, we are going to focus primarily on the school
s prominent advocates: Parmenides, writer of On Nature, and Zeno, founder of the dialectic method.
Together, Parmenides and Zeno laid the

The Middle East Is Clearly Out Of Hand Essay
Jeffrey A. Beery
Professor Carlin Mackie
English 102
9 November 2016
Introduction:
The Middle East is clearly out of hand. Why is this region prone to so much bloodshed? All we need
to do is refer back to our history books. In preparation for the Collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the
end of WW1 the Sykes and Picot agreement was signed, which called for British and French influence
in the region and the creation of states. This agreement was to benefit French and British interests and
had very little concern regarding the ethnic and religious makeup of the region. After analyzing the
region it is evident that the current border situation is ineffective and causing much of the problems.
The current foreign policies the Western world has towards the Middle East need to be seriously
reconsidered.
The Vision of T.E. Lawrence:
The Sykes and Picot agreement was conceptualized as a great idea among western leaders at the time,
however according to Yassamine Mather in his article titled The Fall of the Ottoman Empire and
Current Conflict in the Middle East even then the agreement had its critics: T.E. Lawrence, who knew
a lot more than Sykes about national and religious differences in the Arab world, warned of conflicts
within the region (471). Time has proven that T.E. Lawrence made a rather accurate prediction.
Lawrence was a rather popular man regarding this period, and is still very much so today. In fact,
Lawrence s book titled Seven Pillars of Wisdom has become a must

The Five Twenty By John Cheever
The short story The Five Forty Eight by John Cheever is a fantastically told story about a mentally ill
woman done wrong by a successful man and how she gets her vengeance. The story is both thrilling
and satisfying. Elements are what make any story what it is, from the complex characters to worry for
and grow with, to the conflict keeping the reader on the edge of their seat, mind racing at how it will
be resolved. All of the elements made this story a good read, but in this case one stands out in
particular. The setting really give this story the excitement and thought provoking substance that could
enthrall anybody. The setting proves to be so important it controls character actions. Everything that
happens is determined on the setting of this story. This literary work is started out with a setting of
New York on a rainy, gloomy day. New York is known to be an exciting city that never sleeps, full of
successful people such as Blake, the main character, or people struggling just to get by, like Miss
Dent. The city being so crowded and loud makes it hard for people to really think and calm
themselves down. He noticed now how much louder the rain made the noises of the street... horns
were blowing urgently... The sidewalk was crowded... he wondered if she was following him.
(Cheever 2) Even on these rainy days the streets are still full of sounds and people. These many noises
give Blake a serious case of paranoia. Blake saw Miss Dent earlier and now the many distractions

Depletion of natural resources was responsible for the falloff civilization of the past, and it still will be

Natural resources have been existent due to its capacity of regeneration. But we are living at the time
when we are using the natural resources at a rate when compared to natural resources regeneration
rate. Previous civilizations that have already fallen had the luxury of exploiting its natural resources
without fear of extinction. These civilizations lived in the times when they existed expansive spaces

The moral fanatic and religious fundamentalist, Giralamo Savonarola, inhibited the development of
the Renaissance in Florence and brought the city back into the Middle Ages.
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Through scholarly research of Florentine politics and daily life during the rule of the Medici, it is
affirmed that Giralamo Savonarola used religion and fear to inhibit the progression of the Renaissance
in Florence.
INTRODUCTION
Religion provides hope for those who are hopeless. It aims to welcome those who are alienated and
feel that their life has no purpose. Religion served the same function in the Middle Ages and
Renaissance as it does today. However, religion was embraced more during the Middle Ages by

Lorenzo and his humanist circle had a great influence on artist in patronized including Botticelli.
During the Middle Ages, the church commissioned most of the art being produced which limited the
subject matter and censorship. Now, however, the Medici were the chief patrons using art as a political
declaration rather than a religious idea. Commissioned by the Medici, Donatello s David was the first
free standing nude sculpture completed since antiquity (Gilmore 83). The work symbolized the shift of
the arts from the church to the political forum. As art and learning thrived, morals and grace declined
in the eyes of the church. Many religious traditionalist viewed Florence as an evil and godless city.
These fundamentalists eagerly waited for a great reformed to restore Florence to a religious city.
PREACHER AND REFORMER Giralamo Savonarola was born in Ferrara in 1452. He was brought
to Florence by Lorenzo after Pico della Mirandola encouraged him to bring Savonarola to the city. In
Ferrara, Savonarola was a traditionalist and a moralist and renowned as a preacher and a prophet.
Upon his arrival, Savonarola did not intend on reforming the city and returning it to a religious
centered state. Yet, after witnessing the atrocities of Florence, he became a reformer and an outspoken
enemy of the Medici family. Savonarola believed with a passionate conviction that God ruled the
world and he personally felt responsible to turn people away from sin towards God.

Manorialism Dbq
Economic systems have been enforced in society to create order. Therefore various systems have
influenced many nations, regions, and groups of people throughout the course of history. Manorialism
is one primary example that demonstrates the influences an economic system can have on a nation. It
was a prominent system throughout the Middle Ages in Western Europe. Manorialism is considered
the economic side of feudalism, a political system where kings in Europe gave away land to nobles in
return for their loyalty, military service and labor.
Another essential example is mercantilism which was dominant during the Age of Exploration.

Gold and silver brought the great wealth of European nations as well as the enslavement of the African
people. This is demonstrated in an excerpt from a letter written in 1559 by Michele Soriano he states,
...great quantities of gold and silver are no longer found upon the surface of the earth, as they have
been in past years; and to penetrate into the bowels of the earth requires greater effort... the Spaniards
are not willing to do the work themselves, and the natives cannot be forced to do so... it is necessary to
acquire negro slaves [enslaved Africans], who are brought from the coasts of Africa . Spain s
interactions with its colonies in the Americas were frequent, therefore resources such as gold and
silver began to reduce, this is why they had to dig deeper into the earth. Therefore it was essential for
Europe to get laborers to work in the mines colonies because Spaniards were unwilling to do the work
and the Native Americans were unable to do work due to the Emperors freed them. Michele Soriano
also writes, The fifth part of all that is produced goes to the king, but since the gold and silver is

A Comparison Of Christianity In Two Epistles Of Virginity...

means nothing, and that works are meant to further their walk with God. Through faith and trust in
God, the true virgin becomes a divine ambassador of Christ; the rewards that follow his or her walk
will prevail over all evil. All Christians can learn who to be in Christ by following the walk of the
virgin. Christians do not enter the kingdom of God through beauty or eloquence nor does their faith
get displayed by these things. The followers of Christ in the Two Epistles of Virginity demonstrate

Engineering Application Essay
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The course of the evolution of my interest in engineering dates back to my childhood. It has begun in
my high school. The kind of environment in which I grew up is, both my parents were graduates in
Mathematics and were proficient in the field of teaching Mathematics in engineering level and high
school level. So, due to their influence on me, I had developed my interest in the subject and maths
was at my fingertips. At that point, I was enthusiastic to learn about the applications of Mathematics.
This lead to the important stage in my life, the field of engineering.
My high school education and my performance in various competitive exams laid the path for me to
pursue my bachelor of technology degree in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering
which suited me better because of my fondness for mathematics and my interest to study the
applications of the subject. The place of study is Amrita School of Engineering, a college under

founder, Joseph Smith. Smith was said to have been visited by God, the Father, and Jesus Christ after
retreating to the woods to pray for guidance. At the time there were multiple competing facets of
Christianity and Smith was unsure which to join. To answer his question, God and Jesus Christ told
him not to join any of the churches, but to restore the one true church. After Jesus s crucifixion, Latter
day Saints believe the original church fell after followers argued over his teachings leading to the loss
of his true message. Later, Smith was visited by an angel named Moroni, who announced the
existence of two gold plates for him to find. The plates were in an unknown language so, through God
s assistance, Smith translated the plates into English. Once they had been translated, the plates were
taken back by the angel. The translation of the plates came to be known as the Book of Mormon,
which is the groundwork of the church for Latter day Saints. Smith and his followers, due to the
hostility from the local population in New York, left to settle westward where they could practice their
religion freely. Along the journey, Smith was murdered by a mob for his religious beliefs, but his
follower continued on and settled in Utah. On February 14th, I interviewed Kevin Anderson at The

Baroque Period Research Paper
Baroque Period, during which a few of the greatest composers on this planet were born, brought
classical music onto a whole new level. The word Baroque , which came from the Portuguese for the
imperfect pearl , implies strange, extravagant and overblown. Toccata, fugue, chorale, ortario, and the
concerto Grosso, all of these special musical forms were created and represent this period. The six
main characteristics: increased emotional expression, contrast, use of basso continuo, continued
harmonic development, use of ornament, and the emphasis of improvisation, molded the unique style
of music of the Baroque period.
First of all, one of the most important characteristics of music in this period was the increased
emotional expression. During the Renaissance, emotions of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

At this period, composers rarely wrote out ornaments because they expected performers to add them
on their own. Thus, sometimes the same piece sounds different because performers add ornaments on
their own. Additionally, long treaties about proper usage of ornaments were written.
Finally, the last element is the emphasis on improvisation: the ability to extemporaneously compose
on an existing melody. This is often considered as a chance to show off for the performers. Through
improvisations and ornaments which were both elaborated by the extemporaneously composition of
performers added interest and differences between music and even the same piece of music might
sound different.
All of these elements constructed the unique structure and texture of the Baroque music. Without any
one of them, music would not be as interesting as it is now, and the signature of each composer and
characteristic of each piece would not be as different as they are now. Through understanding these
characteristics, one can further understand the texture of Baroque music and understand what the
composer thought while composing this

Primary Sources Of Law Essay
There are four primary sources of American law that establish rights, duties, and privileges that are
consistent with the values and beliefs of a society or its ruling group (Miller, 2014). One of the oldest
sources of primary law is the U.S. Constitution, which was ratified by delegates from 12 states on
September 17, 1787 (The Constitution of the United States, 2015). The document has stood the test of
time and been a model for many other nations with its emphasis on a strong government with
maximum human freedom while avoiding tyranny (The Constitution of the United States, 2015).
Since each state also has its own constitution, this would be in the same category as a primary source
of American law. The second primary source of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Case law is one area of the law that is constantly developing and changing in reaction to changing
perceptions and further court rulings that may supersede previous case laws (Legal dictionary case
law, 2015). Stare Decisis is a common law doctrine based on practicing law by referencing former
decisions or cases (Miller, 2014).
Chapter 1: Question 2 A legal precedent is a court decision that becomes a reference of authority to
deciding future cases involving similar scenarios (Miller, 2014). Precedents are set when the judicial
system interprets a principle of law as it applies to a particular set of facts; when similar facts are
present in future cases, the courts will adhere to the previous decision in the original case as the basis
for ruling in the same fashion. Lower courts are subject to precedents and cannot overrule. A
precedent can by overruled by the Supreme Court when historical conditions change or the philosophy
of the court undergoes a major shift (Legal dictionary precedent, 2015). An often used example in this
instance is the Brown vs. Board of Education, 347 U.S. 483, 74 S. Ct. 686, 98 L. Ed. 873 (1954), in
which the Supreme Court repudiated the separate but equal doctrine of Plessy v. Ferguson, 163 U.S.
537, 16 S. Ct. 1138, 41 L. Ed. 256 (1896) (Legal dictionary precedent, 2015). For sixty years, the

The Conquest Of Doukas Analysis
I found Doukas first person account of what happened during the conquest of Constantinople in 1453
to be very interesting. It is not that common in history to get a person s complete view and
interpretation on an event and I think that is why this one seems to be so appealing to me. Douglas
begins his account by mentioning the choice Mehmed had given the men before they had started the
excruciating battle. Mehmed had given the men the option to go home and end their quest or to
continue to fight for the city of Constantinople. Although I am sure it was a tough option, the men
decided to continue fighting. The Turks largest obstacle was how they were going to get over the
walls. At first, they thought that trying to light the city on fire would be the best option but soon
realized it was going to take more than that. The Romans had an underground sally port and it was
their only option for survival at the time. However, it is not until later on that the ... Show more

was still open, and so they entered the city via the door. This part of Doukas account was a little
confusing and difficult for me to understand because I could not picture in my head how the location
of the battle was set up. I understand that there was an entire wall around the city, but I am not sure
how they spotted the underground sally port. Not only did the Turks discover a passage way into the
city, they were also more experienced in warfare and the Romans were enormously outnumbered.
Eventually, the Turks were able to conquer the city of Constantinople. The aftermath of the battle was
absolutely shocking. Approximately 2,000 Roman men were slaughtered. The amount of bodies was
so drastic that it blocked an entrance to a gate. I found that absolutely

Maybe they know something I don t know phenomenon. An example, could be choosing to eat at a

Hunting Rifle Ammunition Based on Game Size Essay
Every type of hunting ammunition is designed for different sizes of game. In fact there are several
different types to choose from, but which one is the right choice? For instance there are many different
ways to decide what ammo to use. Specifically the best way to decide is to choose by the size of the
animal that is to be hunted. For instance there are three different size groups that all hunters can use to
help them choose the best ammunition for their hunt.
First of all we have the class known as small game. In example, small game includes animals such as
squirrels, rabbits, birds, snakes, varmints, coyotes, ETC... While any rifle will work for taking out
small game, some larger caliber rounds provide unnecessary overkill. ... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly we have the mid sized game. Which is bigger than most varmints, but still smaller than most
deer; this is what makes antelope, mountain goats and sheep a unique challenge compared to hunting a
deer or a similar large animal. Thus using a round that ranges from a .25/06 to a .270, is preferred with
this size game. Hence it is recommended to use bullets that weigh somewhere around 100 grains.
Since they have a lower weighing lead, it causes the bullet to travel faster which would be ideal for
longer shots. Generally shots of 200 300 feet are needed when hunting antelope and mountain goats,
because of their habitat being in areas with open terrain and usually having cliffs.
Next we have the third and final class of game sizes, which would be the big game. While hunting
smaller animals may be fun, most hunters choose to step it up a bit and to hunt big game. For instance,
big game includes animals such as deer, bears, elk, boar, and more. For this type of hunting, the best
rounds to use are those ranging from a .243 Winchester up to a .338 win magnum. For instance, a
good example would be a .30 caliber which is probably one of the best choices for this area. For
instance, the heavier bullet generates more momentum that gives it a brush breaker type of effect,
which allows the bullet to continue on its path through dense woodland areas.
After all, hunting is a great sport

Demand For Medical Care Essay
Demand for Medical Care
The demand for medical care is derived from our demand for good health. Michael Grossman was the
first to do econometric research on this topic. Grossman s work established two approaches for
consideration. In the first, medical care is viewed as an input in the production function for health, and
in the second, as an output produced by medical care providers (Henderson, p.142). There are two
main factors that determine the demand for medical care. The first is the patient factor. This includes a
patient s health status, demographic characteristics and economic status. The second is the physician
factor. This is an interesting topic because it introduces the principal (patient) agent (physician)

chipped in as well. The public health authorities improved sanitation. Which in return all lead to a
decrease in diseases. An increase in technology also helped the cause. Diseases like cancer where

(Henderson p.145) Genetics also play a major role in determining our health. Half of your genes come

the individual to resist the disease (and recover from its consequences) once exposed (Henderson
p.144). If your father has high blood pressure then his siblings are susceptible to high blood pressure
too. Now we will look at the determinants in the demand for medical care. Henderson defines demand
as the sacrifice an individual is willing to make in order to obtain a given amount of a particular good
or service. In other words you can t always get what you want. Need rarely equals demand. Need is
almost always greater than demand.

Class Learning Will Provide Higher Grades
Yes, I agree with the statement that there are issues. Schools will have their own limitations and it will
create less tendency for ideas to be generalized for different students or same nature of settings.
2. Are there any cause and effect statements you canmake that you believe would be true in most
schools? Would you say, for example, that a sympathetic teacher causes elementary school students to
like school more?
The cause and effect statement that will be true in most cases include,
Class learning will provide higher grades
Such statement will be true as there will be the more effectiveness in mentioned status and the
standards for the school settings.
3. Are there any advantages to having more than one independent variable in an experimental design?
If so, what are they? What about more than one dependent variable?
Yes, it can be the best tools to have more than one independent variables as there is no limitation for a
single variable to be affecting entirely on the dependent variable. It is thus, the way to manage and
check more than one variables for which one is more effectively causing relationship.
4. What designs could be used in each of the following studies? (Note: More than one design is
possible in each instance.)
a. A comparison of two different ways of teaching spelling to first graders.
The design for this research will be based upon comparative analysis through questionnaires and

The Enigma Of Nationalism By Yael Tamir
Nationalism has become one of the most powerful uniting and occasionally separating powers of the
modern age. Throughout history, there were numerous countries that exemplified both sides of this
classic European belief. However, as time has passed, this pride and promotion of one s country has
developed far beyond the scope of Europe. Nationalist feelings fester in all parts of the globe now, and
with that comes more complicated expressions of the sentiment, as well as carefully crafted
governments that exist for the sole support of nationalist fervor.
According to Yael Tamir, author of The Enigma of Nationalism, a nation.., may be defined as a
community whose members share feelings of fraternity, substantial distinctiveness, and exclusivity, as
well as beliefs in a common ancestry and a continuous genealogy (4). During this period, many classic
liberals used this idea of a nation to support change throughout all of Europe. By insisting that nations
come together, they achieved huge social upheaval and reform, of which the aristocracy and
conservatives were completely against. However, the use of this unifying force had its consequences.
For example, the creation of the first Prussian constitution at a National Assembly in 1848 granted a
larger, unified Prussia (the German empire) built on a somewhat democratic model. However, along
with the democracy came the development of a three class system. This ensured that the Junkers, the
wealthiest men who paid the most taxes,

Ficer Corps And The Noncommissioned Officer
Abstract The officer corps and the noncommissioned officer corps in the Army go all the back to
before the founding fathers formed the country. Both of these corps have adapted and changed
according to wars and conflicts the nation has participated. The success of the Army is dependent on
the ability of officers and noncommissioned officers to work together. Training, education and
mentorship lead to officers and noncommissioned officer serving as the cornerstone of the Army.
Establishing roles and responsibilities It is important to understand the roles that officers and non
commissioned officers hold in the Army. Without this understanding, officers and non commissioned
officers become stranded and confused. The Army has continuously updated regulations, field
manuals, and other doctrine to keep up with the ever changing operational environment the Army
operates in. Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6 22 and Army Doctrine Reference Publication
(ADRP) 6 22 clearly establish the roles of the officer and the non commissioned officer. Additional
Army doctrine provides for other miscellaneous tasks or responsibilities that officers and non
commissioned officers either share or work together to accomplish. A simple example is Training
Circular (TC) 3 21, Drill and Ceremony. The non commissioned officer has the bulk of the
responsibility to conduct but the officer does have a role as the commander of troops. Although Drill
and Ceremony not does specifically address a

Salisbury Cathedral
Constructed from 1220 to 1258, Salisbury Cathedral is a prime example of early English Gothic or
High Gothic architecture and is arguably one of the most important cathedrals in all of England.
Located in Salisbury of Wiltshire, England, the cathedral was constructed due to the move of the
bishopric from Old Sarum Cathedral to Salisbury, under the tenure of Bishop Richard Poore. Because
the majority of the cathedral was built in only 38 years, the building exemplifies a single architectural
style and although the spire, chapter house and cloisters were built at a later date, they still seamlessly
match the English Gothic architecture of the original structure. Directly adjacent to the Avon River,
the Salisbury, like all Christian cathedrals, is positioned so that the ... Show more content on

Walking from downtown Salisbury, one finds him or herself approaching the cathedral from the
northeast at an oblique angle. Although there is one sidewalk that approaches the façade straight on,
all other paths lead to the building at some sort of oblique angle, giving the building a sense of
plasticity or three dimensionality. This concept of plasticity and approaching the building at and angle
dates back to the Greeks, and causes the viewer to think more about the form and scale of the building
than if they were to approach the structure from a 90 degree angle. In contrast, if one were to approach
the cathedral from the west, he or she will notice the planar west façade and its horizontality, which
clearly resembles the screen type façade seen at Wells Cathedral. In both Salisbury and Wells
Cathedrals, the west facades

Essay On Stuffed Crust
To find the amount of inches of stuffed crust put around the edge of pizza A, you must find the
perimeter. To do so, you can use the formula p = 2 (l+w). Since pizza A has both a length and width of
5 inches, you can multiply 2 by 10 to get a perimeter of 20 inches. To find the perimeter of pizza B,
you can also use the same formula. Since pizza B has a length of 4 inches and a width of 8 inches, you
can multiply 2 by 12 to get a perimeter of 24 inches. To find the circumference of pizza C, you can use
the formula a = pi (d), as d represents diameter. Because the diameter of the pizza is 9 inches, you can
multiply pi, or 3.14, by 9 to get a circumference of 28.26 inches. To figure out the length of stuffed
crust around the edge of a square pizza with an area of 36 square inches, you must first find the length
of each side. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The square root of 36 is 6, so that means each side is 6 inches. 4 sides that are each 6 inches long is a
total of 24 inches, so the perimeter of the pizza is 24 inches. To design two rectangular pizzas each
with an area of 36 square inches, you can simply just find the factors of 36. One pair of factors are 4
and 9, so these numbers can represent the length and width of the pizza. Now to find the perimeter of
this pizza, you can use the same formula we used for pizza A and B in number 1. Since this pizza has a
length of 4 inches and a width of 9 inches, you can multiply 2 by 13 to get a perimeter of 26 inches.
Another pair of factors of 36 are 3 and 12, so these numbers can represent the length and width of
pizza 2. Once again, you use the same formula to find the perimeter. Since pizza 2 has a length of 3
inches and a width of 12 inches, you can multiply 2 by 15 to get a perimeter of 30 inches. To find the
circumference of a round pizza with an area of 36 square inches, you must first find the radius of the

Causes Of Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an idiopathic, chronic inflammatory process. Individuals with
this condition often experience periods of symptomatic relapse and remission. (Lehmann et al., 2015)
IBD encompasses two disorders: Crohn disease (CD) and Ulcerative colitis (UC). Ulcerative colitis is
an ulcerating inflammation of the mucosal layer largely restricted to the colon. Crohn disease is a deep
transmural inflammation that generally occurs in the terminal ileum but can occur anywhere from the
mouth to the anus (Davies and Abreu., 2015). CD can affect any part of the GI tract but has a
particular tendency to affect the terminal ileum. In CD, the involved bowel is normally narrowed and
thickened. Deep ulcers and fissures in the mucosa

Observing Social Behavior In Better Call Saul
Observing Social Behavior Social behavior is everywhere in society, hence why I didn t go far to
observe it. I observed social behavior by watching the first episode of Better Call Saul with no sound,
observing only the characters actions and the setting, to try and decipher the plot. By doing this, I have
gathered what I trust to be, the plot of the show. I believe it s a flashback to a young lawyer, James
McGill, trying to make it in his field. Between the struggle to make it and present day, something has
gone wrong. He is very skittish and afraid someone is going to come after him. We see this when he is
working at his present job, as a Cinnabon employee, and a man is staring at him. James starts
panicking, you can see him gulp down his spit, he is afraid this man is after him, but then the man
goes to greet his others outside the entrance and James is relieved. He then goes home to an empty
house which is nicer than what a Cinnabon worker could afford and then the scene changes and the
flashback begins. At the time, I couldn t tell this was a flashback, originally believing it was just
another character. Throughout careful observation, I came up with the theory of the show being a
flashback of James McGill s life.
The flashback starts in a court room and the entire room of people look annoyed, as if they are waiting
for someone. The lawyer is pacing back and forth, talking to himself, showing his nerves about the
case in the men s restroom. When he finally enters the

How the Media Portrays the Occupy Wall Street Movement
The fact that media can influence politics is readily evident from the campaign trail, to the passing of
laws, to grass roots campaigns such as Occupy Wall Street. The Occupy Wall Street campaign has
been portrayed negatively by the mainstream media outlets. Newspapers, radio, television, and the
internet have painted the movement with offensive undertones, reporting the lows of the movement
rather than the revolutionary aspects of the movement. A possible reason that the media has
consistently framed this movement in a negative manner is that the movement is operating against the
forces of society. This opposing issue between the rich conservative mass media and the Occupy Wall
Street movement has drawn the interest of the public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This rather magnetic push and pull has kept many in the audience, like me, who are otherwise
oblivious to political issues, tuned in to watch the story unfold. Tuning into these news media outlets
has prompted me to dig deeper to learn more about what is not being said. The Occupy website links
to another site called We are the 99 percent where individuals from a vast array of backgrounds have
posted their own stories about their struggles in this economy (Occupy, 2011). It is hard not to be
moved by the difficult situations that individuals have found themselves in through no fault of their
own. When these stories are read it is hard not to want change, through any form, for the better. It is
unfortunate that the media does not share these stories; rather they focus on the punk aspect of the
movement rather than the greater equality or less corruption (Scherer, 2011, p. 22). Media outlets
frame a different spin, one that effectively detracts from the fact that the reason some of these
Occupiers are so absorbed in the movement because that is all they have left, is the charity of others in
their efforts to promote greater equality. It also detracts from the issue that started the movement; that
the one percent is thriving, while the rest of America is starving, all because big business controls
politics in America

Calf diarrhea or scours is a commonly reported disease and a significant cause of economic losses and decreasing productivity of dairy producers. Disease prevention and management is important from both a calf and public health perspective due to positive association between exposure to domestic animals and human diarrheal disease. The aim of the community report and scientific review is to identify the zoonotic enteric diseases of neonatal calves and identify animal husbandry and hygiene behaviors associated with calf rearing linked to infection and outline recommended interventions to mitigate the transmission to people working in the dairy industry. Cryptosporidium is wide spread in Australian dairy calves with prevalence as high as 100% in some herds. Infected calves can be asymptomatic, however, typical clinical signs include: loose, watery diarrhea, straining, anorexia, weight loss, depression, dehydration. Humans can be infected either directly or indirectly by consuming food or water contaminated with ooysts or by inadequate hand washing practices after exposure to infective feces or animals. Many people do not develop illness after exposure. Individuals with the greatest susceptibility to cryptosporidiosis include the young childeren, elderly, malnourished, disease impaired (i.e. those with diabetes, or chronic disease), and a broad group of immunocompromised individuals (i.e. AIDS patients, transplant recipients, and those receiving chemotherapy) who may become infected with lower number oocysts. For those individuals that show clinical signs, explosive watery diarrhea and abdominal pain are common. Vomiting, nausea, fever, and muscle cramps can also occur. The symptoms usually resolve in 7 to 14 days in an immunocompetent host. Oocyte excretion may continue to occur for up to an additional 1 to 4 weeks post resolution of clinical signs. In my opinion, i believe that being realistic is the best option you can have. For example, in the novel The glass castle the little girl will always think about the glass castle she would live in, however she ended up living in an apartment in New York City. This made her realize that was just one of her dreams and that it won t come true because of this, she would always predict what would happen before it occurred. The death penalty was established in the eighteenth century BC, two main reasons the death penalty was put into place was with the hope of reducing capital crime because of the result being in death and the believe that criminals who did a crime so bad that qualify for death row did not deserve to live, but that system is no longer believed to be effective anymore. According to U.S Newswire fifty seven percent of police chiefs agreed that the death penalty does little to prevent violent crimes because perpetrators rarely consider the consequences when engaged in violence(2). The death penalty is also ineffective because ninety percent of offenders can not afford an adequate criminal defence lawyer. This shows that only ten percent of offenders are getting the right defence against higher punishments and charges. Some people argue that the death penalty is effective because people who qualify for death row deserve to die, but many can also argue that the death row violates the constitution by using inhuman and crucial punishments. Rose For Emily In William Faulkner s short story A Rose for Emily the story of an eccentric southern aristocrat from the view of the community she lives in. the story opens with the death of the main character, Miss Emily Grierson. Faulkner described Miss Emily s life circumstances through a series of flash backs. Faulkner explains his story is an example of a person having their hopes and aspirations for their life dashed over time, and only later to realize how through poor decision making, they have broken every value and belief they hold, then proceeding to punish themselves indefinitely. Brooks and Warren begin by approaching the story from the psychological mindset of Miss Emily. They point out without finding the meaning behind Miss Emily s actions, the story is merely a story of abnormal psychology. The incident goes as follows, In July of 1945, the allied leaders had a meeting in Potsdam and they submitted a stiffly worded declaration of surrender terms to the Japanese. These terms had included a statement to the effect that any negative answer would invite prompt and utter destruction. The allied leaders (Harry S Truman, Winston Churchill and Stalin) also stated that they hoped that Japan would agree to surrender unconditionally and prevent devastation of the Japanese homeland and that they patiently awaited Japan s answer. In 1939 the first book, Alcoholics Anonymous, was published. It held all of the struggles and hope filled stories of some of the first alcoholics that joined the group. This book, later called The Big Book , would lay down all of the suggestions for an alcoholic if he or she wanted to live a sober life. The program focuses on the 12 steps to help newcomers adjust to this way of life. Upon entering the program, it is suggested that the newcomer pick a sponsor to help guide them through the steps. Furthermore, service work within the fellowship is also recommended. The sole purpose of Alcoholics Anonymous is to help someone achieve sobriety. As a non alcoholic, it is easy to look at a fellowship as big as A.A. and think there may be other motives. There is no other purpose in A.A. • 9. Thales Of Miletus And The Elastic School Of Philosophy From Thales of Miletus, the first ancient Greek philosopher, to Socrates and Aristotle, ancient Greek philosophy has set the standard for modern intellectual and rational thought. They developed new ways of reasoning and logic to explain the natural phenomena that surround them. Reality, existence, and the essence of things were the basis of what these philosophers sought to rationalize. In this paper, I will be discussing the epistemology and ontology presented by The Eleatics, the Pluralists, and The Atomists. These three Pre Socratic schools often opposed one another s epistemological and ontological views. However, each critic resulted in even more theories and laws that we still use to this day. Their works also improved the standard for argument which became of great use to the future Classical and modern philosophers. The Eleatics The Elastic School of Philosophy, established by Parmenides in the fifth century, was best known for the development of early philosophers including Zeno of Elea and Xenophanes of Colophon. The Elastics works often pointed to their use of logic and reason rather than sense experience to find the ultimate truths . These ultimate truths were concerned with the Being and Becoming of things rather than the origin of the things themselves. In this section, we are going to focus primarily on the school s prominent advocates: Parmenides, writer of On Nature, and Zeno, founder of the dialectic method. • 11. The Middle East Is Clearly Out Of Hand Essay Jeffrey A. Beery Professor Carlin Mackie English 102 9 November 2016 Introduction: The Middle East is clearly out of hand. Why is this region prone to so much bloodshed? All we need to do is refer back to our history books. In preparation for the Collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the end of WW1 the Sykes and Picot agreement was signed, which called for British and French influence in the region and the creation of states. This agreement was to benefit French and British interests and had very little concern regarding the ethnic and religious makeup of the region. After analyzing the region it is evident that the current border situation is ineffective and causing much of the problems. The current foreign policies the Western world has towards the Middle East need to be seriously reconsidered. The Vision of T.E. Lawrence: The Sykes and Picot agreement was conceptualized as a great idea among western leaders at the time, however according to Yassamine Mather in his article titled The Fall of the Ottoman Empire and Current Conflict in the Middle East even then the agreement had its critics: T.E. Lawrence, who knew a lot more than Sykes about national and religious differences in the Arab world, warned of conflicts within the region (471). Time has proven that T.E. Lawrence made a rather accurate prediction. Lawrence was a rather popular man regarding this period, and is still very much so today. • 12. The Five Twenty By John Cheever The short story The Five Forty Eight by John Cheever is a fantastically told story about a mentally ill woman done wrong by a successful man and how she gets her vengeance. The story is both thrilling and satisfying. Elements are what make any story what it is, from the complex characters to worry for and grow with, to the conflict keeping the reader on the edge of their seat, mind racing at how it will be resolved. All of the elements made this story a good read, but in this case one stands out in particular. The setting really give this story the excitement and thought provoking substance that could enthrall anybody. The setting proves to be so important it controls character actions. Everything that happens is determined on the setting of this story. This literary work is started out with a setting of New York on a rainy, gloomy day. New York is known to be an exciting city that never sleeps, full of successful people such as Blake, the main character, or people struggling just to get by, like Miss Dent. The city being so crowded and loud makes it hard for people to really think and calm themselves down. He noticed now how much louder the rain made the noises of the street... horns were blowing urgently... The sidewalk was crowded... he wondered if she was following him. (Cheever 2) Even on these rainy days the streets are still full of sounds and people. These many noises give Blake a serious case of paranoia. The kind of environment in which I grew up is, both my parents were graduates in Mathematics and were proficient in the field of teaching Mathematics in engineering level and high school level. So, due to their influence on me, I had developed my interest in the subject and maths was at my fingertips. At that point, I was enthusiastic to learn about the applications of Mathematics. This lead to the important stage in my life, the field of engineering. My high school education and my performance in various competitive exams laid the path for me to pursue my bachelor of technology degree in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering which suited me better because of my fondness for mathematics and my interest to study the applications of the subject. • 22. The Church Of Jesus Christ Commonly referred to as Mormons, though they prefer to be known as Latter day Saints. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was formed in the first half of the nineteenth century by its founder, Joseph Smith. Smith was said to have been visited by God, the Father, and Jesus Christ after retreating to the woods to pray for guidance. At the time there were multiple competing facets of Christianity and Smith was unsure which to join. To answer his question, God and Jesus Christ told him not to join any of the churches, but to restore the one true church. After Jesus s crucifixion, Latter day Saints believe the original church fell after followers argued over his teachings leading to the loss of his true message. Later, Smith was visited by an angel named Moroni, who announced the existence of two gold plates for him to find. The plates were in an unknown language so, through God s assistance, Smith translated the plates into English. Once they had been translated, the plates were taken back by the angel. The translation of the plates came to be known as the Book of Mormon, which is the groundwork of the church for Latter day Saints. Smith and his followers, due to the hostility from the local population in New York, left to settle westward where they could practice their religion freely. Along the journey, Smith was murdered by a mob for his religious beliefs, but his follower continued on and settled in Utah. On February 14th, I interviewed Kevin Anderson at The ... The word Baroque , which came from the Portuguese for the imperfect pearl , implies strange, extravagant and overblown. Toccata, fugue, chorale, ortario, and the concerto Grosso, all of these special musical forms were created and represent this period. The six main characteristics: increased emotional expression, contrast, use of basso continuo, continued harmonic development, use of ornament, and the emphasis of improvisation, molded the unique style of music of the Baroque period. Thus, sometimes the same piece sounds different because performers add ornaments on their own. Additionally, long treaties about proper usage of ornaments were written. Through improvisations and ornaments which were both elaborated by the extemporaneously composition of performers added interest and differences between music and even the same piece of music might sound different. All of these elements constructed the unique structure and texture of the Baroque music. One of the oldest sources of primary law is the U.S. Constitution, which was ratified by delegates from 12 states on September 17, 1787 (The Constitution of the United States, 2015). Stare Decisis is a common law doctrine based on practicing law by referencing former decisions or cases (Miller, 2014). Chapter 1: Question 2 A legal precedent is a court decision that becomes a reference of authority to deciding future cases involving similar scenarios (Miller, 2014). Precedents are set when the judicial system interprets a principle of law as it applies to a particular set of facts; when similar facts are present in future cases, the courts will adhere to the previous decision in the original case as the basis for ruling in the same fashion. Lower courts are subject to precedents and cannot overrule. A precedent can by overruled by the Supreme Court when historical conditions change or the philosophy of the court undergoes a major shift (Legal dictionary precedent, 2015). An often used example in this instance is the Brown vs. Board of Education, 347 U.S. 483, 74 S. Ct. 686, 98 L. It is often when we care about getting the right answer and trying to be rational. It also deals with the Maybe they know something I don t know phenomenon. In fact there are several different types to choose from, but which one is the right choice? For instance there are many different ways to decide what ammo to use. Specifically the best way to decide is to choose by the size of the animal that is to be hunted. For instance there are three different size groups that all hunters can use to help them choose the best ammunition for their hunt. First of all we have the class known as small game. In example, small game includes animals such as squirrels, rabbits, birds, snakes, varmints, coyotes, ETC... While any rifle will work for taking out small game, some larger caliber rounds provide unnecessary overkill. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly we have the mid sized game. Which is bigger than most varmints, but still smaller than most deer; this is what makes antelope, mountain goats and sheep a unique challenge compared to hunting a deer or a similar large animal. Thus using a round that ranges from a .25/06 to a .270, is preferred with this size game. Hence it is recommended to use bullets that weigh somewhere around 100 grains. Since they have a lower weighing lead, it causes the bullet to travel faster which would be ideal for longer shots. Generally shots of 200 300 feet are needed when hunting antelope and mountain goats, because of their habitat being in areas with open terrain and usually having cliffs. Next we have the third and final class of game sizes, which would be the big game. While hunting smaller animals may be fun, most hunters choose to step it up a bit and to hunt big game. For instance, big game includes animals such as deer, bears, elk, boar, and more. For this type of hunting, the best rounds to use are those ranging from a .243 Winchester up to a .338 win magnum. For instance, a good example would be a .30 caliber which is probably one of the best choices for this area. For instance, the heavier bullet generates more momentum that gives it a brush breaker type of effect, which allows the bullet to continue on its path through dense woodland areas. The quality of life was one of the major factors. There was an increase in income as well as education. The living standards and nutrition chipped in as well. The public health authorities improved sanitation. Which in return all lead to a decrease in diseases. An increase in technology also helped the cause. Diseases like cancer where slowed due to Chemotherapy and stricter regulations directed to corporations on dumping waste. (Henderson p.145) Genetics also play a major role in determining our health. Half of your genes come from your father and the other half from your mother. There are two factors that play a critical role in determining the health of an individual: the risk of exposure to a particular disease and the ability of the individual to resist the disease (and recover from its consequences) once exposed (Henderson p.144). If your father has high blood pressure then his siblings are susceptible to high blood pressure too. Now we will look at the determinants in the demand for medical care. Henderson defines demand as the sacrifice an individual is willing to make in order to obtain a given amount of a particular good or service. In other words you can t always get what you want. Need rarely equals demand. Need is almost always greater than demand. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Are there any advantages to having more than one independent variable in an experimental design? If so, what are they? What about more than one dependent variable? Yes, it can be the best tools to have more than one independent variables as there is no limitation for a single variable to be affecting entirely on the dependent variable. It is thus, the way to manage and check more than one variables for which one is more effectively causing relationship. 4. What designs could be used in each of the following studies? • 42. The Enigma Of Nationalism By Yael Tamir Nationalism has become one of the most powerful uniting and occasionally separating powers of the modern age. Throughout history, there were numerous countries that exemplified both sides of this classic European belief. However, as time has passed, this pride and promotion of one s country has developed far beyond the scope of Europe. Nationalist feelings fester in all parts of the globe now, and with that comes more complicated expressions of the sentiment, as well as carefully crafted governments that exist for the sole support of nationalist fervor. According to Yael Tamir, author of The Enigma of Nationalism, a nation.., may be defined as a community whose members share feelings of fraternity, substantial distinctiveness, and exclusivity, as well as beliefs in a common ancestry and a continuous genealogy (4). During this period, many classic liberals used this idea of a nation to support change throughout all of Europe. By insisting that nations come together, they achieved huge social upheaval and reform, of which the aristocracy and conservatives were completely against. However, the use of this unifying force had its consequences. For example, the creation of the first Prussian constitution at a National Assembly in 1848 granted a larger, unified Prussia (the German empire) built on a somewhat democratic model. However, along with the democracy came the development of a three class system. This ensured that the Junkers, the wealthiest men who paid the most taxes, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Ficer Corps And The Noncommissioned Officer Abstract The officer corps and the noncommissioned officer corps in the Army go all the back to before the founding fathers formed the country. Both of these corps have adapted and changed according to wars and conflicts the nation has participated. The success of the Army is dependent on the ability of officers and noncommissioned officers to work together. Training, education and mentorship lead to officers and noncommissioned officer serving as the cornerstone of the Army. Establishing roles and responsibilities It is important to understand the roles that officers and non commissioned officers hold in the Army. Without this understanding, officers and non commissioned officers become stranded and confused. The Army has continuously updated regulations, field manuals, and other doctrine to keep up with the ever changing operational environment the Army operates in. Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6 22 and Army Doctrine Reference Publication (ADRP) 6 22 clearly establish the roles of the officer and the non commissioned officer. Additional Army doctrine provides for other miscellaneous tasks or responsibilities that officers and non commissioned officers either share or work together to accomplish. A simple example is Training Circular (TC) 3 21, Drill and Ceremony. The non commissioned officer has the bulk of the responsibility to conduct but the officer does have a role as the commander of troops. Although Drill and Ceremony not does specifically address a ... • 44. Salisbury Cathedral Constructed from 1220 to 1258, Salisbury Cathedral is a prime example of early English Gothic or High Gothic architecture and is arguably one of the most important cathedrals in all of England. Located in Salisbury of Wiltshire, England, the cathedral was constructed due to the move of the bishopric from Old Sarum Cathedral to Salisbury, under the tenure of Bishop Richard Poore. Because the majority of the cathedral was built in only 38 years, the building exemplifies a single architectural style and although the spire, chapter house and cloisters were built at a later date, they still seamlessly match the English Gothic architecture of the original structure. Directly adjacent to the Avon River, the Salisbury, like all Christian cathedrals, is positioned so that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Walking from downtown Salisbury, one finds him or herself approaching the cathedral from the northeast at an oblique angle. Although there is one sidewalk that approaches the façade straight on, all other paths lead to the building at some sort of oblique angle, giving the building a sense of plasticity or three dimensionality. This concept of plasticity and approaching the building at and angle dates back to the Greeks, and causes the viewer to think more about the form and scale of the building than if they were to approach the structure from a 90 degree angle. In contrast, if one were to approach the cathedral from the west, he or she will notice the planar west façade and its horizontality, which clearly resembles the screen type façade seen at Wells Cathedral. • 47. Essay On Stuffed Crust To find the amount of inches of stuffed crust put around the edge of pizza A, you must find the perimeter. To do so, you can use the formula p = 2 (l+w). Since pizza A has both a length and width of 5 inches, you can multiply 2 by 10 to get a perimeter of 20 inches. To find the perimeter of pizza B, you can also use the same formula. Since pizza B has a length of 4 inches and a width of 8 inches, you can multiply 2 by 12 to get a perimeter of 24 inches. To find the circumference of pizza C, you can use the formula a = pi (d), as d represents diameter. Because the diameter of the pizza is 9 inches, you can multiply pi, or 3.14, by 9 to get a circumference of 28.26 inches. To figure out the length of stuffed crust around the edge of a square pizza with an area of 36 square inches, you must first find the length of each side. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The square root of 36 is 6, so that means each side is 6 inches. 4 sides that are each 6 inches long is a total of 24 inches, so the perimeter of the pizza is 24 inches. To design two rectangular pizzas each with an area of 36 square inches, you can simply just find the factors of 36. One pair of factors are 4 and 9, so these numbers can represent the length and width of the pizza. Now to find the perimeter of this pizza, you can use the same formula we used for pizza A and B in number 1. Since this pizza has a length of 4 inches and a width of 9 inches, you can multiply 2 by 13 to get a perimeter of 26 inches. Another pair of factors of 36 are 3 and 12, so these numbers can represent the length and width of pizza 2. Once again, you use the same formula to find the perimeter. Since pizza 2 has a length of 3 inches and a width of 12 inches, you can multiply 2 by 15 to get a perimeter of 30 inches. To find the circumference of a round pizza with an area of 36 square inches, you must first find the radius of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Causes Of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an idiopathic, chronic inflammatory process. Individuals with this condition often experience periods of symptomatic relapse and remission. (Lehmann et al., 2015) IBD encompasses two disorders: Crohn disease (CD) and Ulcerative colitis (UC). Ulcerative colitis is an ulcerating inflammation of the mucosal layer largely restricted to the colon. Crohn disease is a deep transmural inflammation that generally occurs in the terminal ileum but can occur anywhere from the mouth to the anus (Davies and Abreu., 2015). CD can affect any part of the GI tract but has a particular tendency to affect the terminal ileum. In CD, the involved bowel is normally narrowed and thickened. • 49. Observing Social Behavior In Better Call Saul Observing Social Behavior Social behavior is everywhere in society, hence why I didn t go far to observe it. I observed social behavior by watching the first episode of Better Call Saul with no sound, observing only the characters actions and the setting, to try and decipher the plot. By doing this, I have gathered what I trust to be, the plot of the show. I believe it s a flashback to a young lawyer, James McGill, trying to make it in his field. Between the struggle to make it and present day, something has gone wrong. He is very skittish and afraid someone is going to come after him. We see this when he is working at his present job, as a Cinnabon employee, and a man is staring at him. James starts panicking, you can see him gulp down his spit, he is afraid this man is after him, but then the man goes to greet his others outside the entrance and James is relieved. He then goes home to an empty house which is nicer than what a Cinnabon worker could afford and then the scene changes and the flashback begins. At the time, I couldn t tell this was a flashback, originally believing it was just another character. Throughout careful observation, I came up with the theory of the show being a flashback of James McGill s life. The flashback starts in a court room and the entire room of people look annoyed, as if they are waiting for someone. The lawyer is pacing back and forth, talking to himself, showing his nerves about the case in the men s restroom. When he finally enters the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. How the Media Portrays the Occupy Wall Street Movement The fact that media can influence politics is readily evident from the campaign trail, to the passing of laws, to grass roots campaigns such as Occupy Wall Street. The Occupy Wall Street campaign has been portrayed negatively by the mainstream media outlets. Newspapers, radio, television, and the internet have painted the movement with offensive undertones, reporting the lows of the movement rather than the revolutionary aspects of the movement. A possible reason that the media has consistently framed this movement in a negative manner is that the movement is operating against the forces of society. This opposing issue between the rich conservative mass media and the Occupy Wall Street movement has drawn the interest of the public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This rather magnetic push and pull has kept many in the audience, like me, who are otherwise oblivious to political issues, tuned in to watch the story unfold. Tuning into these news media outlets has prompted me to dig deeper to learn more about what is not being said. The Occupy website links to another site called We are the 99 percent where individuals from a vast array of backgrounds have posted their own stories about their struggles in this economy (Occupy, 2011). It is hard not to be moved by the difficult situations that individuals have found themselves in through no fault of their own. When these stories are read it is hard not to want change, through any form, for the better. It is unfortunate that the media does not share these stories; rather they focus on the punk aspect of the movement rather than the greater equality or less corruption (Scherer, 2011, p. 22). Media outlets frame a different spin, one that effectively detracts from the fact that the reason some of these Occupiers are so absorbed in the movement because that is all they have left, is the charity of others in their efforts to promote greater equality. It also detracts from the issue that started the movement; that the one percent is thriving, while the rest of America is starving, all because big business controls politics in America ...
