Withdrawal Of The Syrian Refugee Crisis
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This policy memo addresses the current possible U.S. options to the Syrian refugee crisis. I have
identified three different options: Increase Syrian refugee resettlement commitments, establish safe
zones in northern Syria, or seal the Syrian border. As conditions continue to deteriorate in Syria and
the number of refugees continues to increase, it is critical that you strengthen the U.S. position in the
country of Syria. The establishment of safe zones would align our moral, strategic, and diplomatic
interests more than any other possible policy. Half of the electorate or more wants refugees to
establish safe homelands near or in their country, if possible, reducing the perceived risk of increasing
potential terrorism in the United States, the notion grounded in reality or not. Also, historically,
refugees have been allowed safe harbor in United States and we could continue in such tradition, in
the safest possible way.
BACKGROUND
The conflict in Syria between the government of Bashar al Assad and various other forces, which
started in the spring of 2011, continues to cause displacement within the country and across the region.
By the end of 2014, approximately 7.6 million people were internally displaced and 3.7 million
Syrians had fled the country since the start of the conflict. Over 21.5 million people, or half of the
country s pre war population, have been displaced. The refugee situation is urgent, and it has placed an
enormous burden on

Organic Macromolecules Of Life Lab Report
Organic Molecules of Life
Introduction
There are four classes of organic molecules found in living organisms, namely carbohydrates, lipids,
proteins, and nucleic acids. (Simms, 2017) This experiment will only be focusing on carbohydrates
(reducing sugar and starch), lipids, and proteins. Biological macromolecules are large molecules
formed from many smaller units and are (usually) polymers of precise length and specific sequence.
(Cooper, 2011) In this experiment, the independent variable is the type of macromolecule and the
dependent variable is the detecting reagent. This experiment has both positive and negative controls.
The positive control is a substance that contains the molecule that is being tested for. The negative
control is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The photoelectron experiment helped to study the electron structure of different biological molecules.
The aim of the project was to obtain a comprehensive catalogue of photoelectron spectra, and the
photoelectron spectra of small organic molecules was collected. (Bieri, Asbrink, 2011) This study of
electron structure relates to this experiment because in this experiment the structure and bonds of
molecules were studied. By knowing the electron structure, it would help to know where bonds are
between which molecules are located and to further look at the structure of biological

Kim Souzzi Religion Analysis
Kim Souzzi was 23 when she succumbed glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer that is incurable;
however, her legacy lives on through what in the past was just science fiction. Kim s brain is
cryogenically frozen in the hopes that it one day can be mapped and her conscious be uploaded to a
computer. Experts in the field of neuroscience disagree whether or not the process is possible as time
and technology are potent variables. Despite being riddled with moral, fundamental, and scientific
questions Kim raised funding via her online blog and Reddit. There were mixed comments on Kim s
blog, many supportive of her endeavor and many on the contrary. Ideals clash when it comes to human
mortality. For centuries religion and science are in constant conflict, ... Show more content on

Kim s passion was neuroscience and studying the brain and it is only appropriate that she sought a
higher cause following her death. Kim was denied a legacy dying so young so she hopes for a second
chance with the advance of technology. It is therefore no question of science, religion, or morals;
rather it is that her dying wishes right or wrong. We all have our own rituals surrounding death.
Whether it is burial, cremation, cast into the ocean, or even used to further science, there is a purpose
in the final rite. Kim s story is a touching one because like she states in the video on New York Times,
she could just be buried and nothing more would come from that. Furthermore, she decides to
continue sponsoring her passions even after death. No matter what paradigm or perspective one takes,
Kim pursued what she truly loved in the hope that one day she will be a part of something greater than
herself. Technology and science are not ready for the ambitions of Kim; however, time is the
dependent factor in which science fiction will become science reality. I support her decision and what
she is doing, she follows her ambitions and although peculiar and eccentric, they are however her final
wishes and the opinions of the masses are irrelevant. The question of whether or not the computer
with Kim s conscious is her or not, because that is a clash of science and philosophy. People are afraid
of what they do not know. Virtual Mortality may be the key to preserving ideas of great minds,
musicians, philosophers, inventors and innovators. Death will not be overcome by the prospect of the
digital conscious rather life will continue. What was once history will continue to the future. Kim s
endeavor represents progress and if possible and successful will change the way death is

Jeffrey Dahmer Quotes
I made my fantasy life more powerful than my real one ( Jeffrey Dahmer AZ Quotes ). This quote was
said by Jeffrey Dahmer in court. Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21st 1960. His parents were Lionel

brother who was born when Dahmer was 7 years old. Dahmer parents went through a brutal divorce
which was very hard on Jeffrey. Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most deranged serial killers that ever

be of the corpses or of the dying victims Dahmer captured. Dahmer went after minors specifically men
who were African Americans. Jeffrey would find his victims at a bar or any low profile place where
people would not notice the victim missing. After finding a victim he would drug his victims and take
them back to his apartment. In his apartment he would kill the victim photograph the body and then
rape the corpse. The men Dahmer drugged would sometimes go outside and walk around with
handcuffs. Cops would fine them confused and in a daze from getting heavily drugged. Some of
Dahmer s neighbors have reported several young african americans wondering the streets and going to
Jeffrey s house. Some of his neighbors also complained of the offensive smell from his apartment.
Dahmer told them his refrigerator was out of order, and he would take care of the problem the stench

Oxygen is one of the key nutritional inputs to the process of life specifically energy. Sleep apnea
disrupts your breathing while you sleep.
This disruption limits the oxygen that gets into the body which limits the body s ability to produce
energy. This course also provides background information that helps one to understand the article and
the larger issue surrounding it in several ways. From the molecule of life, to cell structure, to how the
body captures and releases energy all provides the basic foundation for understanding the inns and
outs of biology (The study of life). Just like most cells have similar pieces and parts; it is fair to
hypothesis that through research, the rote cause for sleep apnea may be similar to other health issues.
This article caught my attention due to myself being diagnosed with sleep apnea. I have always been
told that I snored. My snoring has been compared to having a running diesel lawnmower in the bed
room. I never thought much of this criticism. Reading this article made realized that I have always had

In the future many types of technology will change and comes with new ideas. That is whey every
country takes care of the technology. Oman is also go ahead for this and it want to be the best. In this
project I will talk about the future of technology in Oman and how it will be effective .
when we talk about technology ,that means we human are talking about something that made the life

As we know, Oman has good technology and it provides the citizens with technology. But we want do
this plan improve technology and develop it by studding it here in Oman and making new inventions
by support the students. If we do this plan, we will have great strong technology in future. That what

imagery, diction, and irony to develop a relationship between the speaker and the swamp. These
techniques are used to show the relationship between the speaker and the swamp. In Crossing the
Swamp imagery is a technique used by the author to develop a relationship between the speaker and

The Triangle Shirtwaist Massacre
It is March 28, 1911, you wake up, make your coffee, and begin reading the newspaper, you notice a
large printing at the top, reading, 148 leap to death or perish in fire. As you read on, you come to
realize that three days ago, women and men that lived on your street, are now dead due to a fire at the
Triangle Shirtwaist Factory.
The Triangle fire became one of the many greatest history stories in the United States, but at the time
it happened, it built up not only in newspapers and rumors, but the streets filled with many people as
they watched young women jump to their deaths, though hoping they would live. 200 women were

Essay On Critical Elements Of IDEA
Critical Elements of IDEA
Take a moment and imagine that you are a parent of a disabled child, and as his/her parent, you want
what is best for your child. The same as all parents do. The time has come for your child to begin
his/her education, a bitter sweet movement for most parents, but a milestone, a time to branch out, and
be exposed to a formal education. Now, imagine that you have just been informed that your child is
not allowed to attend public school, due to his/her disability. I know, it seems outrageous and unfair.
However, in the United States prior to 1975, this was not a scenario that parents of disabled children
had to imagine. This was their reality. Not only were this children deprived of admission to public
school, sometimes they were even institutionalized. However, in 1975 Congress would enact laws to
change the education system for children with disabilities. The Education for All Handicapped
Children Act, now known as Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) specified that all children
including those with disabilities formally excluded from school were entitled to a free, appropriate
education (FAPE) (Mastropieri Scruggs, 2018, 3). Now, under IDEA, schools were not only required
by law to provide an education to children living with disabilities, schools were also required to
identify students with disabilities and provide them with special education services if needed.
Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)
As stated above FAPE is a big

The Party s Manipulation In Oceania
8. The Party is almost in complete control over the citizens in Oceania because of all of the
psychological manipulation that they have done to them. The Party has basically turned the people in
Oceania into robots that aren t allowed to think for themselves and do the things that they feel is right
because the Party has manipulated them into thinking a certain way. One way that the Party
psychologically manipulates the people is by overworking them, because when people are overworked
they are not able to think as well as they would when they were rested so it is easier to manipulate
them at their stage of weakness. For example this happened during Hate Week when all most of the
people in Oceania were overworked because of the change from ... Show more content on

The difference between Julia and Winston in terms of their resistance is that Julia is more educated
about the rebellion and that she has more experience with it. Julia is frustrated with the Party and she
wants to do something about it but she first learns all that she can about the Party to learn how to
defeat it, Winston on the other hand is just frustrated and wants to destroy the Party he does not really
think about the details that are involved. Winston is also very unhappy and angry in the novel but he is
not able to pinpoint why he is very unhappy and angry, he knows that he is because of the Party but he
does not know what aspects f the Party are making him feel this way. On the other hand Julia knows
what is wrong with the Party and she actually analyzes why the Party does the things that it does and
how the Party is helping itself out by doing these things. For example, in the novel Julia is able to
think about things like why the Party took away love and passion and her reasoning is that maybe
when they take away love and passion they can channel that into a massive love for the Party. Julia is
also very skilled at be undercover, she knows how to work the system and not get caught, but Winston
does not understand this. Winston is not as sneaky as Julia and wants to involve other people in his
rebellion before he knows that he can trust them whereas Julia takes time so she knows that it s safe.
Even though their two paths of resistance are different when they are paired together they make a
pretty strong team. Because Julia is so knowledgeable she is able to help Winston with his rebellious
ideas so that he will not get caught and Winston is able to help Julia be more rebellious in different
ways with his young mind of resistance. From this you would think that this team would be invincible
but they are not because they both end up getting caught because they were not sneaky

Human Trafficking And The United States Essay
Human trafficking doesn t happen in third world countries only. It doesn t just happen to poor people
and it certainly doesn t solely happen to women. It is present here in the USA but it is hidden, and
even worse, so are their victims. They are everywhere yet invisible. They are silently crying for our
help through their eyes and smiles. According to Polaris, ...the prevalence of sex trafficking in the
United States is still unknown, we do know that women, children, and men are being sold for sex
against their will in cities and towns in all 50 states . Human trafficking can happen to anyone even to
Theresa Flores, the author of The slave across the street ( Sex trafficking 2015). An average 15 year
old American girl, coming from a privileged background and a respected family became a victim of
sex trafficking and through her book, she convinces us that human trafficking doesn t have a specific
demographic.
Theresa was a good catholic girl. Her faith was important to her. She went to mass on Sundays, her
mom was very involved in the community and her dad had a very important job. Her family was the
normal American family. Her dad s job required them to move around a lot and because of that she
never had true friendships. One day her family moved to Birmingham and her life changed
dramatically.
In her new school, Theresa had a crush on an older Chaldean boy named Daniel, little did she know

Maguire s Rebellion Research Paper
The spark that ignited Maguire s discontent into open rebellion was the appointment and ensuing
depredations of Captain Humphrey Willis. This was the same Willis, who had previously been driven
out of Donegal by Hugh Roe O Donnell in February 1592. He was appointed sheriff in the spring of
1593 and quickly re established his pattern of raiding and spoiling that was familiar to the inhabitants
of Tirconnell the previous year. Willis had no legal reason for spoiling Maguire s lordship, and the
authorities in Dublin offered no justification. Hiram Morgan suggested that it may have been an
attempt to suppress a major client of the Hugh O Neill, second earl of Tyrone at a point when he was
cementing his power in Ulster. Nonetheless, Maguire was initially unable to oppose Willis with the
troops at his immediate disposal, but he was quickly reinforced with 100 shot, pikes and Scots
bowmen led by Tyrone s brother, Cormac Mac Baron, and then 120 shot under the commands of
Donnall and Donough O Hagan. Willis and his men took refuge in a church for six to seven days until

father taking paternity leave could reduce the stress among family and improve the relationship with

Constitutional Law And The Legal System
With the media giving cost play to the term Constitutional , in reference to ongoing discussions
between the Executive Branch and the Legislative Branch, some confusion concerning the power of
Constitutional Law and its foundation for our legal system is understandable. Constitutional law is not
confined to the founding document as the sole source of our legal system. It includes the past rulings
of the Supreme Court, as well as guidance given in the various writings of the original founding
fathers and the precedence of Common Law. Thus Constitutional Law encompasses the entire sphere
of American Jurisprudence and its continued evolution will have a resounding effect on both the rights
and liberties of the individual for generations to come. Division and Enumeration of Powers The first
three articles of the U.S. Constitution describe the division of power among the three branches of the
Federal Government. Article I, Sections 1 10 enumerate the powers and duties of the Legislative
branch. Article II, Sections 1 4 concern the powers and duties of the Executive Branch and Article III,
Sections 1 3 enumerates the duties and powers of the Legislative Branch. Significantly, the
enumerated powers are not an exhaustive list. Not all powers are delimited in relation to the other
branches nor to that of the States. Thus, the powers of each branch has been further determined by
Supreme Court rulings, under the guise of specific powers outlined in these three Articles. Therefore,

Comparison Of Faith And The Ethics Of Belief
Some people believe that there is an existing conflict between faith and reason, but not all. This is not
limited only to those who identify as religious nor does it apply strictly to those who deny the
existence of God. As written in the Bible, We are to have good reason for what we believe, and we are
to be always ready to share that reason with other people (1 Peter 3:15). The argument of faith and
reason is seen in numerous philosophical writings such as Blaise Pascal s Faith is a Logical Bet or
W.K. Clifford s The Ethics of Belief. In both we find strengths and weaknesses which defend their
individual beliefs based on reasoning and logical thinking.

Clifford s The Ethics of Belief, Clifford offers an argument which differs from Pascal s argument. In
The Ethics of Belief, Clifford argues that simply having belief in a Theistic God is unethical without
having sufficient evidence to support ones belief. This argument does not focus solely on faith but it
demands that reason be included in the decision to believe in anything not just in deciding whether a
Theistic God does in fact exist or not. Clifford begins his argument telling a story about a ship owner
who was about to send his emigrant ship to sea knowing the ship was old and not in the best shape as
it once had been. Even though it had been suggested to the owner that the ship was not seaworthy, the
doubts were not enough for the owner to have the ship inspected and repaired if necessary. Instead, the
ship owner make the decision to set aside all doubts without having sufficient evidence to do so, he
allowed the ship to set sail. In the end, the ship did not make the voyage, all those aboard were killed,
and the ship owner collected the insurance money when for the ship (Clifford). As an outsider looking
in, the ship owners decision to ignore previous suggestion to inspect and repair the ship was unethical.
As the owner it was his responsibility to ensure safety and a successful voyage. Of course unexpected
situations, issues, and events could have resulted in the same outcome of the passengers losing their
lives, however, this was not the case. From the

Recidivism Is The Act Of A Person
Recidivism is the act of a person repeating an undesirable behavior after they have experienced
negative consequences. Recidivism refers to a person s relapse into criminal behavior and is measured
by criminal acts that resulted in rearrest, reconviction or return to jail within a three year period
following the criminal s release. Approximately 6 in 10 released inmates are rearrested or
reincarcerated within three years of release from prison (The Bureau of Planning, Research and
Statistics, 2013). Many criminals go to jail after doing time because they find it hard to fit back in with
the normal life due to returning to high risk places and finding a job. In order to eliminate high
recidivism with the jail system, it is necessary to provide education and vocational training. Drug
addiction typically propels the criminal behavior of inmates whom recidivate soon after release. Many
prisoners report commit their offense while under the influence of drugs. Recidivism rates for drug
offenders are depressingly high (Hynes). Rapper Gucci Mane, a lean addict has been arrested many

Essay On Due Process
The term due process of law is in the 5th amendment of the U.S Constitution. It states No person shall
. . . be deprived of life, liberty or property, without due process of law (The V Amendment of the U. S
Constitution). Due process also comes from the sixth and fourteenth amendment of the U.S
Constitution. This term means that it s a constitutional law that is guaranteed that every citizen gets
every legal proceeding. They will be treated equal and the individual will be noticed of those
proceedings, the individual is given the chance to be heard before the government does take life,
liberty, or property away. It gives guarantee that a law isn t unreasonable or arbitrary. In the sixth
Amendment it guarantees the seven specific rights to any person getting charged. The seven rights are
right to speedy trial, to a public trial, to be judged by an impartial jury, right to know the accusers are
and to know the nature of the crime being committed and evidence held against you. This connects to
due process by giving a notice of the individual rights and being able to have those rights, however on
the upside that notice will better help a criminal find a lawyer or make themselves think about there

The Women s Suffrage Movement Essay
Women s Suffrage Movement On the 19th of September, 1893, New Zealand women experienced a
monumental change in political status when the right to vote in parliamentary elections was extended
to them. Prior to this it was only men who were permitted to vote. Intense protest against such came at
full force in the late 19th century, from women who were seeking political and legal reforms.
Achieving franchise for women was the primary focus of the first wave of feminism in New Zealand.
This was of massive importance because it was the first major step in achieving gender equality in
New Zealand. The suffragists directly opposed and managed to rid New Zealand of a manifestation of
the prevalent gender based discrimination that women have dealt with throughout history. The idea
that women should be barred from participating in the political sphere while men are able to is
seriously misogynistic. When voting, people elect representatives who will make laws and policies
that will govern their lives; it is the opportunity to put forward an opinion which could aid in solving
the issues that an individual cares about. To deny women this right is to say that women s beliefs and
opinions have basically no worth. Enfranchisement, (as a result of extensive campaigning by
suffragists) was recognition of the fact that women s ideas are just as valid as men s. This event is also
significant as gaining the vote was an instigator for more feminist development, like the second wave
of feminism

American Automobile Industry
American Automobile Industry
As we move towards a globalized business world, new competitors have risen from developing
nations. These nations now pose a threat to the many industries still stuck in their old ways. One
industry in particular is the American auto industry that has seen a large fall in their earnings. Japan is
one nation who has revolutionized the auto industry through Toyota. The world is growing and with
this growth we see a need for energy and with it has come a high price at the pump. Ford Motor Co.

Ford seems to be attempting to do just that with its recent hiring Moray Callum, previous general
manager of design at Mazda Motor Corp. Callum is credited with reviving Mazda s product portfolio
(The Wall Street Journal, 5/1/2006).
Beyond planning, cutting costs, globalization these automakers need leadership. In the long run we
may see new technologies that improve the American auto industry s power but for now what the
industry is a leadership. In recent months ford hired a number of new executives to head key areas
related to North American operations, such as product development, marketing, engineering and
manufacturing. GM has done the same. One person shaking things up at GM is their newest director,
Jerome York. The 67 year old former auto executive has helped engineer turnarounds at Chrysler and
International Business Machines Corp. He has been going over financial statements, seeking new
engines and transmissions, and has even met with GM s labor relations executives to deal with the
tense negotiations with the United Auto Workers, which is another ongoing problem for the company.
Outside directors are increasingly looking to him to set the tone and agenda (The Wall Street Journal,
5/1/2006). That is what GM needs, leadership that understands the automobile business and is willing
to fight for survival. Both Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation are in the midst of
restructuring. The American auto industry is beginning to

Technology Has Influenced The Way Of Communication
Advanced technology has influenced the way we communicate with each other; It also has negative
influences. Modern technology has helped people get in touch with their loved ones Within seconds.
Fifty years ago, people sent letters to communicate with their relatives and friends. In today s
generations, people use many forms of communication, such as calling, texting, emailing, video

Bacteria Growth Comparison at Severn School
Introduction The purpose of this lab is to observe bacterial growth between a water fountain and door

to determine which surface grows more bacteria. Bacteria are single celled organisms without a

and are the simplest forms of life. They grow/divide thorough Binary Fission, a type of asexual
reproduction. During Binary Fission, the material of one cell separates in to two cells.
In order for this to happen, the original cell must copy it s genetic material so both daughter cells have
a

and responsibilities of an occupational therapist include many aspects of helping someone recover
from a variety of health issues. As an occupational therapist you treat injured, ill, and disabled patients
through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. The activities help patients recover and improve to
be able to function for daily living. Therapists show patients how to use adaptive equipment such as

The Impact Of The Declaration Of Independence
On July 2, 1776, John Adams wrote a letter to his wife Abigail, a date that will be the most memorable
epoch in the history of America (202). On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress adopts the
Declaration of Independence, marked as the official statement of the American position (202).
Thirteen of American colonies severed their political connection to Great Britain. The Declaration
summarized the colonists motivations for seeking freedom an independence. The formal declaration of
independence automatically established the new American revolutionary government and officially

Have you ever wondered where majority of the air pollution comes from and how it s caused since
half of the population here in the San Joaquin Valley are affected due to the contamination of the air.
Many people around the world question themselves of air pollution but don t know where it comes
from. It s noticeable for example pesticides, ozone levels rising, vehicle pollution, toxic waste
burning, wildfires, and the list goes on. The San Joaquin Valley for many have been battling for better
air quality but instead of getting better it seems to be getting worse. The air quality can contribute to
dangerous health issues and environmental effects. We humans aren t the only ones who are suffering
from these devastating chemicals being used on a daily basis. Humans in general, Environmental
Protection Agency, or California have to find ways or solutions to limit the usage of any type of air
pollution being spread all around the world. However, air pollution contributes to several health

The Life Of A Soccer
The life of a soccer (overlap lesson) I do not know whether it has been out of our little childishness or
foolishness at a young age, but for some reason, I was never able to see nor relate the future to
whomever I was or what I was doing at the present not until they happen to me; the point where it is
impossible to ignore them. I remembered the laugh and sweat out in the plain, in that sunny day, not a
green or regulated field, but a beautiful barren and grassless field, a virtual desert, but I always rather
chose to spend my time on that wrenched and beautiful than other place. From far a distance, one will
be able to see something like a pile of rectangular shape at the end of the field and to the other field as
well. Sometimes, a circulation of dirt and people almost smashing into each other. My mom knew that
I would rush to the field rather than to home when every kid at the village would quicken to home at
the end of school. I would quicken to the field to enjoy the sweat and laughter. On that sunny day, no
one will not be able to find water other than on my shirt that is filled with the wet of a sweat. Then, I
did lie down on the field and laugh after all the run and playing soccer. This constant action of rushing
to the field, generating sweat and going home at the dawn of the night is an continuous activity that I
did while growing up. And though, I think it of as a child s hobby, it may be far more than that.
Unbeknownst to me was that playing soccer was not a

The Confederate Wins and Losses
On April 12,1865 Confederate warships bombed the union at Fort Sumter in South Carolina and this
marked the beginning of one of the worst and deadliest wars fought in the world. It was a war that
only lasted around four years but yet took 620,000 of our brothers, sisters, and children with it.
Families were torn apart, sons had lost their fathers, mothers lost their sons, and whole towns lost
every man they had to give. A war that we fought on our land, a war that made brother fight brother,
killed almost as many men as every war America has fought since combined. At First the Union
believed they were going to fight at least a couple battles and it would all be over with, but oh was the
Union wrong. They under estimated the wholeheartedly fighting Confederate soldiers, the
Confederates were not going to give up that easily what they needed, what they wanted, and their way
of life. Between the battle of Fort Sumter a Confederate victory and the First battle of Bull Run anther
Confederate victory, there were nine other smaller battles many not large enough to truly be called a
battle. Of those nine battles three were won by the Confederates and two were inconclusive. At the
first battle of Bull Run, the Union still believed that this is going to be a very short war, they believed
it so much that spectators came and lined the sides of the battlefield to watch the Union smash the
Confederate Army. Of the spectators most we re just common folk or people near that community, but

Argumentative Essay On Invasive Beauty
Reality of a Real Life Princess
On August 31st, 1997, Princess Diana s death from a fatal car crash left the world stunned. Paparazzi
that were later sighted as the main cause of the crash were among the first to arrive on the scene of
Diana s death, making apparent how invasive news and media can be for people especially the royal
family. In Banksy s exhibit Dismaland ,which itself is a play on Disneyland , one can find a sculpture
of Cinderella hunched over a crashed pumpkin carriage, under a tunnel, only illuminated by the lights
of crowding paparazzi. Here, Banksy makes a compelling argument and statement about how invasive
media can be in a person s live by showing a third party depiction using a national icon depicting a
national tragedy.
Banksy is a street artist known for his controversy and this art installation is one of his more
controversial pieces of artwork Making art pieces depicting brutal events in history is nothing new, yet
what makes this piece so shocking is how Banksy portrays it. He depicts it using Cinderella, an iconic
fairy tale character who little girls dream about one day being.Cinderella has the connotation of
innocence and nostalgia, thus using her this attacks our ethos by taking this symbol of innocence and
nostalgia and twisting it into a dark reminder of what a real life princess s life is like. The image of
Cinderella s white pumpkin carriage toppled over pays homage to Diana s crumpled up Mercedes, her
blonde hair flowing out of the

The Middle Ages Essay
The Song of Roland is the Emblem of the Middle Ages
The Middle Ages was an era of invasions. It was a dark time in England and across Europe. Where
Islam was taking over, the crusades had to take action against that and spread Christianity instead.
Values and beliefs were driven from the church. On the other hand, Feudalism, which stands for the
power of the land was taking over. All these incidents and more inspired the poets and writers to create
literature that expressed what was happening in the Middle Ages. One of these productions was the
Song of Roland it is one of the oldest epic poems that was written in France. In my view the following
points taken from this magnificent poem, focus on the values of this era: church was spreading wrong
conceptions against Islam in order to spread Christianity; rules and values in society were imposed by
the church, when people where believers in god ; land owners are the most powerful in society, that
lead to feudalism; one of the knights merits is complying to orders; noble knights fight alone when in
need for help till the last breath; vicious sins like falsehood and betrayal are dammed by the kingdom.
The Church was spreading wrong conceptions about Islam in order to spread Christianity; The Song
of Roland purposely draws negative images about the faith of Islam and semi Muslims. And
associated them with devils, in (laisse 78) Rain does not fall nor dew collect. There is no stone,

Why Does The Butterfly Population Decline
butterflies are traveling pollinators that migrate over 3000 miles in the winter when the weather begins
to get cold (Smith). The National Geographic article and video by Lindsay N. Smith says that the
butterfly population has decreased 90% in size over the last twenty years (Smith). Population decline
comes from a variety of aspects, but the most impactful is the food that the caterpillars are eating and
a lack of food on their migration. Monarch caterpillars are born in milkweed plants and eat the leaves
before they grow into butterflies. In 20 years milkweed plants have dropped to 21% the amount of that
they were previously (Smith). Many scientists are attributing this to the massive monoculture fields
throughout the migration pattern that

  • 2. Withdrawal Of The Syrian Refugee Crisis EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This policy memo addresses the current possible U.S. options to the Syrian refugee crisis. I have identified three different options: Increase Syrian refugee resettlement commitments, establish safe zones in northern Syria, or seal the Syrian border. As conditions continue to deteriorate in Syria and the number of refugees continues to increase, it is critical that you strengthen the U.S. position in the country of Syria. The establishment of safe zones would align our moral, strategic, and diplomatic interests more than any other possible policy. Half of the electorate or more wants refugees to establish safe homelands near or in their country, if possible, reducing the perceived risk of increasing potential terrorism in the United States, the notion grounded in reality or not. Also, historically, refugees have been allowed safe harbor in United States and we could continue in such tradition, in the safest possible way. BACKGROUND The conflict in Syria between the government of Bashar al Assad and various other forces, which started in the spring of 2011, continues to cause displacement within the country and across the region. By the end of 2014, approximately 7.6 million people were internally displaced and 3.7 million Syrians had fled the country since the start of the conflict. Over 21.5 million people, or half of the country s pre war population, have been displaced. The refugee situation is urgent, and it has placed an enormous burden on ... • 3. Organic Macromolecules Of Life Lab Report Organic Molecules of Life Introduction There are four classes of organic molecules found in living organisms, namely carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. (Simms, 2017) This experiment will only be focusing on carbohydrates (reducing sugar and starch), lipids, and proteins. Biological macromolecules are large molecules formed from many smaller units and are (usually) polymers of precise length and specific sequence. (Cooper, 2011) In this experiment, the independent variable is the type of macromolecule and the dependent variable is the detecting reagent. This experiment has both positive and negative controls. The positive control is a substance that contains the molecule that is being tested for. The negative control is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The photoelectron experiment helped to study the electron structure of different biological molecules. The aim of the project was to obtain a comprehensive catalogue of photoelectron spectra, and the photoelectron spectra of small organic molecules was collected. (Bieri, Asbrink, 2011) This study of electron structure relates to this experiment because in this experiment the structure and bonds of molecules were studied. By knowing the electron structure, it would help to know where bonds are between which molecules are located and to further look at the structure of biological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Kim Souzzi Religion Analysis Kim Souzzi was 23 when she succumbed glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer that is incurable; however, her legacy lives on through what in the past was just science fiction. Kim s brain is cryogenically frozen in the hopes that it one day can be mapped and her conscious be uploaded to a computer. Experts in the field of neuroscience disagree whether or not the process is possible as time and technology are potent variables. Despite being riddled with moral, fundamental, and scientific questions Kim raised funding via her online blog and Reddit. There were mixed comments on Kim s blog, many supportive of her endeavor and many on the contrary. Ideals clash when it comes to human mortality. For centuries religion and science are in constant conflict, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kim s passion was neuroscience and studying the brain and it is only appropriate that she sought a higher cause following her death. Kim was denied a legacy dying so young so she hopes for a second chance with the advance of technology. It is therefore no question of science, religion, or morals; rather it is that her dying wishes right or wrong. We all have our own rituals surrounding death. Whether it is burial, cremation, cast into the ocean, or even used to further science, there is a purpose in the final rite. Kim s story is a touching one because like she states in the video on New York Times, she could just be buried and nothing more would come from that. Furthermore, she decides to continue sponsoring her passions even after death. No matter what paradigm or perspective one takes, Kim pursued what she truly loved in the hope that one day she will be a part of something greater than herself. Technology and science are not ready for the ambitions of Kim; however, time is the dependent factor in which science fiction will become science reality. I support her decision and what she is doing, she follows her ambitions and although peculiar and eccentric, they are however her final wishes and the opinions of the masses are irrelevant. The question of whether or not the computer with Kim s conscious is her or not, because that is a clash of science and philosophy. People are afraid of what they do not know. Virtual Mortality may be the key to preserving ideas of great minds, musicians, philosophers, inventors and innovators. Death will not be overcome by the prospect of the digital conscious rather life will continue. What was once history will continue to the future. Kim s endeavor represents progress and if possible and successful will change the way death is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For these reasons, further research and treatments should be funded. The USA Today article entitled Sleep Apnea Booming; New Treatments Offer Alternatives (Weintraub, 2013, p. 1)brings to light the growing numbers of Americans that are undiagnosed and untreated for sleep apnea. Oxygen is one of the key nutritional inputs to the process of life specifically energy. Sleep apnea disrupts your breathing while you sleep. This disruption limits the oxygen that gets into the body which limits the body s ability to produce energy. This course also provides background information that helps one to understand the article and the larger issue surrounding it in several ways. From the molecule of life, to cell structure, to how the body captures and releases energy all provides the basic foundation for understanding the inns and outs of biology (The study of life). Just like most cells have similar pieces and parts; it is fair to hypothesis that through research, the rote cause for sleep apnea may be similar to other health issues. This article caught my attention due to myself being diagnosed with sleep apnea. I have always been told that I snored. My snoring has been compared to having a running diesel lawnmower in the bed room. I never thought much of this criticism. Reading this article made realized that I have always had but had been totally unaware of the symptoms for sleep apnea. As a United States Marine, I was always in great physical shape, but yet, I was always tired and took daily naps. Speaking to a fellow Marine about my constant fatigue, he made me aware of the disorder called sleep apnea. Up until that point, I had never heard of it. I then realized ... Mary Oliver s Use Of Imagery In Crossing The Swamp DocViewer Page of 2 Zoom Pages Gerzog 1 Jeffrey Gerzog Ms. Shaw AP Literature January 26, 2018 Crossing the Swamp In the poem Crossing the Swamp, the poet Mary Oliver uses techniques such as imagery, diction, and irony to develop a relationship between the speaker and the swamp. These techniques are used to show the relationship between the speaker and the swamp. In Crossing the Swamp imagery is a technique used by the author to develop a relationship between the speaker and the swamp. An example of this relationship being developed through imagery is when the author says, I feel not wet so much as painted and glittered with the fat grassey mires, the rich and succulent marrows of earth. As you read on, you come to realize that three days ago, women and men that lived on your street, are now dead due to a fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. The Triangle fire became one of the many greatest history stories in the United States, but at the time it happened, it built up not only in newspapers and rumors, but the streets filled with many people as they watched young women jump to their deaths, though hoping they would live. 200 women were trapped in the building, fewer than 20 women had actually escaped the building, when the doors had been locked on ... • 10. Essay On Critical Elements Of IDEA Critical Elements of IDEA Take a moment and imagine that you are a parent of a disabled child, and as his/her parent, you want what is best for your child. The same as all parents do. The time has come for your child to begin his/her education, a bitter sweet movement for most parents, but a milestone, a time to branch out, and be exposed to a formal education. Now, imagine that you have just been informed that your child is not allowed to attend public school, due to his/her disability. I know, it seems outrageous and unfair. However, in the United States prior to 1975, this was not a scenario that parents of disabled children had to imagine. This was their reality. Not only were this children deprived of admission to public school, sometimes they were even institutionalized. However, in 1975 Congress would enact laws to change the education system for children with disabilities. The Education for All Handicapped Children Act, now known as Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) specified that all children including those with disabilities formally excluded from school were entitled to a free, appropriate education (FAPE) (Mastropieri Scruggs, 2018, 3). Now, under IDEA, schools were not only required by law to provide an education to children living with disabilities, schools were also required to identify students with disabilities and provide them with special education services if needed. • 11. The Party s Manipulation In Oceania 8. The Party is almost in complete control over the citizens in Oceania because of all of the psychological manipulation that they have done to them. The Party has basically turned the people in Oceania into robots that aren t allowed to think for themselves and do the things that they feel is right because the Party has manipulated them into thinking a certain way. One way that the Party psychologically manipulates the people is by overworking them, because when people are overworked they are not able to think as well as they would when they were rested so it is easier to manipulate them at their stage of weakness. For example this happened during Hate Week when all most of the people in Oceania were overworked because of the change from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The difference between Julia and Winston in terms of their resistance is that Julia is more educated about the rebellion and that she has more experience with it. Julia is frustrated with the Party and she wants to do something about it but she first learns all that she can about the Party to learn how to defeat it, Winston on the other hand is just frustrated and wants to destroy the Party he does not really think about the details that are involved. Winston is also very unhappy and angry in the novel but he is not able to pinpoint why he is very unhappy and angry, he knows that he is because of the Party but he does not know what aspects f the Party are making him feel this way. On the other hand Julia knows what is wrong with the Party and she actually analyzes why the Party does the things that it does and how the Party is helping itself out by doing these things. For example, in the novel Julia is able to think about things like why the Party took away love and passion and her reasoning is that maybe when they take away love and passion they can channel that into a massive love for the Party. Julia is also very skilled at be undercover, she knows how to work the system and not get caught, but Winston does not understand this. • 13. Maguire s Rebellion Research Paper The spark that ignited Maguire s discontent into open rebellion was the appointment and ensuing depredations of Captain Humphrey Willis. This was the same Willis, who had previously been driven out of Donegal by Hugh Roe O Donnell in February 1592. He was appointed sheriff in the spring of 1593 and quickly re established his pattern of raiding and spoiling that was familiar to the inhabitants of Tirconnell the previous year. Willis had no legal reason for spoiling Maguire s lordship, and the authorities in Dublin offered no justification. Hiram Morgan suggested that it may have been an attempt to suppress a major client of the Hugh O Neill, second earl of Tyrone at a point when he was cementing his power in Ulster. Nonetheless, Maguire was initially unable to oppose Willis with the troops at his immediate disposal, but he was quickly reinforced with 100 shot, pikes and Scots bowmen led by Tyrone s brother, Cormac Mac Baron, and then 120 shot under the commands of Donnall and Donough O Hagan. • 15. Constitutional Law And The Legal System With the media giving cost play to the term Constitutional , in reference to ongoing discussions between the Executive Branch and the Legislative Branch, some confusion concerning the power of Constitutional Law and its foundation for our legal system is understandable. Constitutional law is not confined to the founding document as the sole source of our legal system. It includes the past rulings of the Supreme Court, as well as guidance given in the various writings of the original founding fathers and the precedence of Common Law. Thus Constitutional Law encompasses the entire sphere of American Jurisprudence and its continued evolution will have a resounding effect on both the rights and liberties of the individual for generations to come. Division and Enumeration of Powers The first three articles of the U.S. Constitution describe the division of power among the three branches of the Federal Government. Article I, Sections 1 10 enumerate the powers and duties of the Legislative branch. Article II, Sections 1 4 concern the powers and duties of the Executive Branch and Article III, Sections 1 3 enumerates the duties and powers of the Legislative Branch. Significantly, the enumerated powers are not an exhaustive list. Not all powers are delimited in relation to the other branches nor to that of the States. Thus, the powers of each branch has been further determined by Supreme Court rulings, under the guise of specific powers outlined in these three Articles. Therefore, ... As written in the Bible, We are to have good reason for what we believe, and we are to be always ready to share that reason with other people (1 Peter 3:15). The argument of faith and reason is seen in numerous philosophical writings such as Blaise Pascal s Faith is a Logical Bet or W.K. Clifford s The Ethics of Belief. Clifford s The Ethics of Belief, Clifford offers an argument which differs from Pascal s argument. In The Ethics of Belief, Clifford argues that simply having belief in a Theistic God is unethical without having sufficient evidence to support ones belief. This argument does not focus solely on faith but it demands that reason be included in the decision to believe in anything not just in deciding whether a Theistic God does in fact exist or not. Clifford begins his argument telling a story about a ship owner who was about to send his emigrant ship to sea knowing the ship was old and not in the best shape as it once had been. Even though it had been suggested to the owner that the ship was not seaworthy, the doubts were not enough for the owner to have the ship inspected and repaired if necessary. In the end, the ship did not make the voyage, all those aboard were killed, and the ship owner collected the insurance money when for the ship (Clifford). As an outsider looking in, the ship owners decision to ignore previous suggestion to inspect and repair the ship was unethical. As the owner it was his responsibility to ensure safety and a successful voyage. • 24. The Women s Suffrage Movement Essay Women s Suffrage Movement On the 19th of September, 1893, New Zealand women experienced a monumental change in political status when the right to vote in parliamentary elections was extended to them. Prior to this it was only men who were permitted to vote. Intense protest against such came at full force in the late 19th century, from women who were seeking political and legal reforms. Achieving franchise for women was the primary focus of the first wave of feminism in New Zealand. This was of massive importance because it was the first major step in achieving gender equality in New Zealand. The suffragists directly opposed and managed to rid New Zealand of a manifestation of the prevalent gender based discrimination that women have dealt with throughout history. The idea that women should be barred from participating in the political sphere while men are able to is seriously misogynistic. When voting, people elect representatives who will make laws and policies that will govern their lives; it is the opportunity to put forward an opinion which could aid in solving the issues that an individual cares about. To deny women this right is to say that women s beliefs and opinions have basically no worth. Enfranchisement, (as a result of extensive campaigning by suffragists) was recognition of the fact that women s ideas are just as valid as men s. This event is also significant as gaining the vote was an instigator for more feminist development, like the second wave of feminism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I remembered the laugh and sweat out in the plain, in that sunny day, not a green or regulated field, but a beautiful barren and grassless field, a virtual desert, but I always rather chose to spend my time on that wrenched and beautiful than other place. From far a distance, one will be able to see something like a pile of rectangular shape at the end of the field and to the other field as well. Sometimes, a circulation of dirt and people almost smashing into each other. My mom knew that I would rush to the field rather than to home when every kid at the village would quicken to home at the end of school. I would quicken to the field to enjoy the sweat and laughter. On that sunny day, no one will not be able to find water other than on my shirt that is filled with the wet of a sweat. Then, I did lie down on the field and laugh after all the run and playing soccer. This constant action of rushing to the field, generating sweat and going home at the dawn of the night is an continuous activity that I did while growing up. And though, I think it of as a child s hobby, it may be far more than that. Unbeknownst to me was that playing soccer was not a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Confederate Wins and Losses On April 12,1865 Confederate warships bombed the union at Fort Sumter in South Carolina and this marked the beginning of one of the worst and deadliest wars fought in the world. It was a war that only lasted around four years but yet took 620,000 of our brothers, sisters, and children with it. Families were torn apart, sons had lost their fathers, mothers lost their sons, and whole towns lost every man they had to give. A war that we fought on our land, a war that made brother fight brother, killed almost as many men as every war America has fought since combined. At First the Union believed they were going to fight at least a couple battles and it would all be over with, but oh was the Union wrong. They under estimated the wholeheartedly fighting Confederate soldiers, the Confederates were not going to give up that easily what they needed, what they wanted, and their way of life. Between the battle of Fort Sumter a Confederate victory and the First battle of Bull Run anther Confederate victory, there were nine other smaller battles many not large enough to truly be called a battle. Of those nine battles three were won by the Confederates and two were inconclusive. At the first battle of Bull Run, the Union still believed that this is going to be a very short war, they believed it so much that spectators came and lined the sides of the battlefield to watch the Union smash the Confederate Army. Of the spectators most we re just common folk or people near that community, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Argumentative Essay On Invasive Beauty Reality of a Real Life Princess On August 31st, 1997, Princess Diana s death from a fatal car crash left the world stunned. Paparazzi that were later sighted as the main cause of the crash were among the first to arrive on the scene of Diana s death, making apparent how invasive news and media can be for people especially the royal family. In Banksy s exhibit Dismaland ,which itself is a play on Disneyland , one can find a sculpture of Cinderella hunched over a crashed pumpkin carriage, under a tunnel, only illuminated by the lights of crowding paparazzi. Here, Banksy makes a compelling argument and statement about how invasive media can be in a person s live by showing a third party depiction using a national icon depicting a national tragedy. Banksy is a street artist known for his controversy and this art installation is one of his more controversial pieces of artwork Making art pieces depicting brutal events in history is nothing new, yet what makes this piece so shocking is how Banksy portrays it. He depicts it using Cinderella, an iconic fairy tale character who little girls dream about one day being.Cinderella has the connotation of innocence and nostalgia, thus using her this attacks our ethos by taking this symbol of innocence and nostalgia and twisting it into a dark reminder of what a real life princess s life is like. The image of Cinderella s white pumpkin carriage toppled over pays homage to Diana s crumpled up Mercedes, her blonde hair flowing out of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Middle Ages Essay The Song of Roland is the Emblem of the Middle Ages The Middle Ages was an era of invasions. It was a dark time in England and across Europe. Where Islam was taking over, the crusades had to take action against that and spread Christianity instead. Values and beliefs were driven from the church. On the other hand, Feudalism, which stands for the power of the land was taking over. All these incidents and more inspired the poets and writers to create literature that expressed what was happening in the Middle Ages. One of these productions was the Song of Roland it is one of the oldest epic poems that was written in France. In my view the following points taken from this magnificent poem, focus on the values of this era: church was spreading wrong conceptions against Islam in order to spread Christianity; rules and values in society were imposed by the church, when people where believers in god ; land owners are the most powerful in society, that lead to feudalism; one of the knights merits is complying to orders; noble knights fight alone when in need for help till the last breath; vicious sins like falsehood and betrayal are dammed by the kingdom. The Church was spreading wrong conceptions about Islam in order to spread Christianity; The Song of Roland purposely draws negative images about the faith of Islam and semi Muslims. And associated them with devils, in (laisse 78) Rain does not fall nor dew collect. There is no stone, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Why Does The Butterfly Population Decline butterflies are traveling pollinators that migrate over 3000 miles in the winter when the weather begins to get cold (Smith). The National Geographic article and video by Lindsay N. Smith says that the butterfly population has decreased 90% in size over the last twenty years (Smith). Population decline comes from a variety of aspects, but the most impactful is the food that the caterpillars are eating and a lack of food on their migration. Monarch caterpillars are born in milkweed plants and eat the leaves before they grow into butterflies. In 20 years milkweed plants have dropped to 21% the amount of that they were previously (Smith). Many scientists are attributing this to the massive monoculture fields throughout the migration pattern that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Life on Mars World of Science Science can be found all around you, everything you look at contains some aspect of science within it. Tracy K. Smith uses her poems to draw our attention towards the science used in everyday life. Throughout her book of poems Life on Mars she uses mystical beings or characters to help portray the science around us. Smith starts off the book with a poem called Sci Fi (pg7); having science plainly in the name of the poem she gets the point across that the poem does involve science. With science already in the mind of the reader Smith is able to make any connection she wants in science and literature. This poems focus is on history and the future; History, with its hard spine amp; dog eared Corners, will be replaced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scientists look over the same calculations everyday looking for that one similarity or difference between them to connect the two and make a new discovery. They write and rewrite all of their work hundreds of times until they whittle it down and smooth it over making it law. Science will always be rushed; we are trying to be the first, the best, at anything and everything. We want to be able to find that knew unknown and once we do we want to know more, so science doesn t even have time to celebrate their discoveries before we ask, what else from them. Science can not only explain the past on how and why events happened when they did, or how they did. Science can predict the future and what it may hold for us. We are in such a need for science that not many people even realize it is in everything all around them, science played a part of everything that has and will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
