The sequencing of the human genome has been compared to putting a man on the moon, and it will certainly change health care, but the most important work lies ahead, in determining how to put the information to medical use. In this context, applications such as gene therapy are being explored. What was once seen as a science fiction dream is now becoming a real possibility.
Gene therapy is a new form of drug delivery that leads the patient's own cells to produce a therapeutic agent. It could potentially eliminate the need for repeated administration of proteins or drugs. Applications of gene therapy not only include rare inherited diseases but extend to common acquired disorders, including tumours (predominantly malignant melanoma) and haematological disorders, cardiovascular disease, and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Gene therapy therefore could be a key element of medical practice in the future. Gene therapy is the insertion of genes into an individual's cells and tissues to treat a disease, and hereditary diseases in which a defective mutant allele is replaced with a functional one. Although the technology is still in its infancy, it has been used with some success. Antisense therapy is not strictly a form of gene therapy, but is a genetically-mediated therapy and is often considered together with other methods.
This presentation is based on genetic disorders. It is a vast topic and I have tried to focus on autosomal disorders along with a general introduction.
DNA replication is a semiconservative process. It means that each strand acts as a template for the synthesis of a new complementary strand. Therefore, this process takes us from one parent molecule to two daughter molecules, with each newly formed double helix containing one new and one old strand.
Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

4. DNA sequence is useful in the study of biological processes, for example the mitochondrial diseases, which are disorders resulting from deficiency of one or more proteins located in mitochondria and they are unspecific diseases. The B-DNA form of DNA, can be transformed into the form Z-DNA in a nucleosome, forming a Z-nucleosome that could contribute to the regulation of protein expression.

9. I think it is a wonderful technological advance in the area of health, because it contributes to good medical practice to become an indispensable ally in diagnosing a mitochondrial disease, which is a delayed process if it is realized with the conventional methods. With the technique of DNA sequencing, the identification process of mitochondrial diseases is not only 100% sure, it is extremely fast, which also allows to implement in a treatment in the right time to those who suffer from this disease that entails severe repercussions as blindness, seizures, respiratory diseases and even death.

This new is evidence that if we use science, technology and knowledge as essential tools of the foundations of medicine, medical practice taking into account ethical considerations necessary for each particular case, it becomes an art where combine the forward and the clear principle of beneficence that is inherent in medicine. Here explain interesting situations in which intervention is possible in the genome of an individual, delaying or advancing natural processes of genetic origin, that for many people is unethical, but when it comes to the welfare of a person and improve their physical and mental condition, I personally say that we should not think twice about taking action and taking part in the fantastic studies such as Z-DNA form of DNA for helping them.
