The Replacement Of A Single Tooth
Introduction:
The replacement of a single tooth lost due to dental caries or trauma can be challenging for a clinician.
Traditionally several options are indicated in order to restore the edentulous space including
implant/crown, fixed partial dentures (FPD) or removable partial denture (RPD). However economic
factors, occlusal disturbances, lack of adequate bone support or excessive removal of healthy dental
structure are some of the limiting factors in the traditional treatment modalities.
One approach that is overlooked and may serve as a good treatment modality is the Fiber Reinforced
Composite Bridge (FRCB). FRCBs are minimally invasive and economic treatment modalities that
can be utilized to replace of a missing tooth and restore an edentulous space.
The ideal site for a conservative FRCB is an edentulous space spanning one to two teeth. Other
considerations include occlusion or the bite relation, periodontal status, oral hygiene, and the status of
abutment teeth.
It should be noted that this modality of treatment is the not the most ideal modaility of treatment
however, it does provide an alternative approach if the ideal modality (Implant/Crown, FPD, RPD) is
not accepted or acceptable. Patient accepting this treatment modality should be aware that there is a
risk of aspiration. Retention with FRCB cannot reach the level of FPDs; more conservative
preparations and bonded nature FRCBs are two reasons worth noting. Patients should exercise care

Comparing Two Studies on estimated HIV Incidence and Prevalence
Introduction
In the era of HIV global pandemic, estimating incidence and prevalence correctly is critical, as it
becomes a strong tool for authorities to decide next action, to mitigate infection rate and its multiple
consequences to society. 2 studies investigated HIV estimated incidence from different approaches.
Prejean et al studied the incidence estimates in the United States, by using a four year data obtained
from HIV incidence surveillance from 16 states and 2 cities, and expanded the estimated incidence to
other areas in the United States1; they used a ratio of group specific incidence at a measured area to
new AIDS diagnosis, to AIDS diagnosis in other areas1. On the other hand, Walker et al estimated
prevalence by applying two strategies; using HIV prevalence of pregnant women for countries
suffering general epidemics, and using HIV prevalence in high risk groups for countries with localized
epidemic to estimate HIV prevalence .2 After obtaining prevalence, they estimated prevalence using
ratio of number screened against the specific group in that country against the adult population, and
estimated incidence according to estimates on how long a person with HIV can survive and vertical
transmission in the area with estimated national prevalence2. While both studies are carefully planned,
some aspects pose assumptions and asks the reader the potential direction of bias.

one of the most popular travel destinations in the world. Andalucia s natural grandeur is extraordinary
by itself considering the fact that it is one of the rarest locations on earth. Andalucia is a region that
provides travelers with all of the earth s treasures all in one place. The location is blessed with pristine

My Experience At Bluefield State College
The world consists of many different cultures and ethnicities. One of the bests things about living in
America is getting to see almost every difference first hand even if you do live in Princeton, WV. I
didn t see as many cultural differences until I started to attend college at Bluefield State College. But
that isn t where I met Eduardo Henrique Pereira. We met playing soccer on my old high school s
soccer field one sunny afternoon. He is from San Paulo, Brazil and currently attends Princeton Senior
High School. He is only seven teen years old and has been in America for only nine months. I was
very eager to find out what his hobbies and interests are and just how different Brazil was from
America.
The first topic discussed was holidays. We first talked about how he celebrates Christmas Day. He said
that they all would wake up and eat breakfast together first thing that morning. They would then visit
and begin making lunch shortly after. They made rice, black beans, chicken, cakes, candies, and would
have it with wine. At first when I heard wine I was a bit thrown off guard, but he explained that the
drinking age is eighteen unlike America where it is twenty one. He then proceeded with telling me that
around eight at night they would all sit around the tree and one person will be designated to get the
presents under the tree and call out the name that was on the present much like we do here in America.
I too get up and have breakfast with my family Christmas morning but

Life Of A Multi Sport Athlete
There is a time in the life of a busy multi sport athlete (and especially the longer, time constrained,
endurance athlete) when you must eat, it must be a complete meal, and it must be quick. Your body
can only support high volume training, proper performance, and immune system strength for a limited
period of time if all your quick meals consist of microwaved meals in a box, gas station trail mix, and
even all organic food bars. You ll eventually crash. So you must make a habit of regularly eating fast
healthy meals and wholesome foods without heavy amounts of preservatives, salts, sweeteners, and
synthetic chemicals, and you must to figure out how to do it without huge amounts of time and
preparation needed. On that note, I m going to give you my top ten meals that I rely on when I need
good, nutritious food fast. That is, when I ve finished a big ride and have to be at work in 10 minutes,
when I ve gotten back from the gym and need to be in ben within an hour, or when I have just a few
minutes to make a dish to fuel a workout. Each meal includes a complete blend of protein and carbs
for recovery and performance needs, and while none of these quick healthy meals are as tasty as filet
mignon, lobster ravioli, or a loaded chopped vegetable salad, they will fulfill the physiological needs
of the busy multi sport athlete. These are all relatively cheap eats with ingredients that are budget
friendly. Here are the top 10 meals that I personally make and have ingrained

Vietnamese Nationalism
Indochina, modernly known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is located on the border of the
eastern Indochinese peninsula and it occupies, according to the online encyclopedia
(encyclopedia.com), about 331,000 kilometers squared, where in 1987, 25% of that land was under
cultivation. Vietnam is bordered by the South China Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and Gulf of Tonkin;
and it is alongside China, Laos, and Cambodia. Hanoi, Vietnam s capital since the nation s
reunification, is located in the northeast; and Vietnam s largest city, Ho Chi Minh City, also known as
Saigon, is located in the southeast of Vietnam. However, before becoming independent from Imperial

Let s take Vietnam as an example. After the conference in Geneva in 1954, Vietnam was divided at the
Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone, also known as the 17th parallel, which was established as a
separating line between North and South Vietnam. North Vietnam was ruled by Ho Chi Minh, and the
South was governed by Bao Dai. 2 years later, in 1956, elections to make Vietnam unified again were
supposed to take place, but Ngo Dinh Diem, who forcefully took power as President in South Vietnam
from Bao Dai, refused to make his nation a democratic country. The way Diem governed his kingdom
made protests arise; Where Buddhist monks would burn themselves to death in the streets, for
everyone to see, as a message. Furthermore, as a retaliation towards Diem s rule, the Vietcong, which
were communist militias who fought against the South Vietnamese and the Americans during the
Vietnam War, arose again.
Then, several years later, Vietnam reunified. According to suite101.com, North Vietnam started to
equalize with the South in terms of military strength, transitioning from Guerrilla Warfares to
Conventional Tactics. In March 1975, North Vietnam attacked the South, where the South capitulated
immediately, and the North military entered Saigon, the official city of Ho Chi Minh, in South
Vietnam; After the attack, the North took over the South, and in April 30th, 1975, Vietnam merged

Porter s five forces and extended eight forces analysis(industry profitability analysis)
Power of buyers : low but increasing
Buyers can be categorized as follows: banks, retailers, restaurants, and leisure facilities
Shopping centre industry is in oligoploly. Most of the buyers such as retailers (tenants) are
individually small and have no strong bargaining power over shopping centre owners.
There are a large number of retailers and service providers in the market. As demand for space is high,
shopping centres attract them to join in and pay more rent for the higher consumer traffic.
However, the power of buyers has been increasing as retailers can now choose locations outside of
S/Cs to save high rents, or open their own online shops. This will in turn exert pressure on S/C to
reduce lease terms and cost
Available margins will shift back to manufacturers (brands) which used to go to retailors
Threat of new entrants: low to medium
High entry barrier: shopping centers are purpose built complexes which require large capital
investment
Industry not as attractive as before for new entrants due to impact of online shopping
There is not much legally restriction for entry.
Power of suppliers: Low
Shopping centre industry s main supplier are utility providers, construction contractors, cleaning
security companies.
No switching cost as there are many suppliers in the market.

Analysis Of Ender s Game By Orson Scott Card
Ender s Game is a science fiction novel written by Orson Scott Card and was published on January 15,
1985. The story follows Andrew (Ender) Wiggin, a genius boy who is chosen to attend Battle School
in hopes of being the savior of humanity against the alien buggers. Ender s journey from an outcast
into a commander seems to follow the steps of Joseph Campbell s hero s journey. Joseph Campbell
was a writer who discovered after studying stories, religions, and mythologies, noticed similar themes
and structures and wrote The Hero With A Thousand Faces (later renamed the hero s journey ). The
Hero s Journey described the steps he observed when reading about heroic journeys. The hero s
journey is made up of several phases such as an unusual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was a Third. It was the government s idea, they were the ones who authorized it how else could a
Third like Ender have got into school? And now the monitor was gone. The experiment entitled
Andrew Wiggin hadn t worked out at all. If they could, he was sure they would like to rescind the
waivers that he had allowed to be born at all. (Card 5). The second stage of a hero s journey is the call
to adventure. Something happens that calls the hero away from their everyday life and into their quest.
For Ender, it was when Graff showed up at the Wiggin s home in chapter three. The removal of Ender
s monitor turned out to be the I.F s final test to see how Ender handled situations without the aid.
Graff arrives at the Wiggin residence to deliver the news and invites Ender to attend Battle School to
commence his training. It takes a bit to sway him but he ultimately agrees stating that he was in fact
born for the sole purpose. He leaves holding Colonel Graff s hand and Valentine crying for him to
return to her. The two steps of crossing the threshold and the challenges and trials fuse together during
the story. Ender crosses the threshold during the fourth chapter Launch, when he along with nineteen
other boys begin their journey to battle school. Already he is faced with a challenge. The two
unknown figures open up the fourth chapter discussing

The Contemporary Role Of The Nurse Practitioner
Abstract This paper explores the contemporary role of the nurse practitioner in the care of U.S.
veterans within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) system. The VHA is is one of the largest
employers of advanced practice providers (APPs) in the United States. Currently some role confusion
exists between nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs) and physicians within the system.
In addition to role confusion, NPs are practicing at various levels across the country demonstrating a
lack of standardization of care within the VHA. Additionally, not all practitioners are currently
practicing to the full scope of their training and are often unfamiliar with the scope/role of their
colleagues. The data suggests that all three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
About the time of WWI, Congress began the work to create a system that would provide U.S. veterans
with programs for disability compensation, insurance for veterans and service personnel, and
vocational rehabilitation for the disabled (The Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015a). At the time the
goals were established, the programs were managed by three fractured agencies: The Veterans Bureau,
the Bureaus of Pensions of the Interior Department and the National Home for the Disabled Volunteer
Soldiers. The first of two agency consolidations took place in 1921 creating the Veterans Bureau (VB)
(The Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015a). The new organization combined all WWI services with
the Public Health Service Hospitals. In 1930, the recently formed Veterans Bureau would be elevated
to federal agency status and the VA is born. The purpose of the agency at this time was to consolidate
and coordinate government activities affecting war veterans (The Department of Veterans Affairs,
2015b). Included in the first consolidation was the transfer of the 1,400 nurses working within the
Public Health Service Hospitals to the Veterans Administration. With the addition, the VA Nursing
Service now employed 2,500 registered nurses (The Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015b). The VA
Nursing Service followed a similar trajectory of expansion and evolution as the agency itself did. The
role of the nurse within the VA system has included calls to combat, serving as military

Welcome The Monkey House Kurt Vonnegut Analysis
Kurt Vonnegut Through the compilation of short stories in the novel Welcome the the Monkey House
Kurt Vonnegut uses a myriad of techniques and characteristics. Because of the wide range of audience
and genre Vonnegut uses many contrasting themes between his different short stories. Some of which
are light hearted and optimistic others, contrasting with darker themes. All of which can embody the
Vonneguts main characteristics irony, persuasion , satirist outlook, and humor. Both sides of the his
writing reflect the versatility in character and voice. In the short story Who am I This Time? Vonnegut
shows the lighter side of his work. Although he keeps the story line light he still uses irony. Helene
Shaw was a really good looking, really young girl perfect for the part and to be seen on stage, but

definite terms such as perfect , nobody and everyone the reader can see the satire, because almost
nothing is definite (7). Hazel and George Bergeron are representative of a conformist society, going

Fallacy Arguments
In the literary exposition, finding the good argument or why bother with logic, Rebecca Jones,
demonstrates how to invent and recognize good and bad arguments. Jones advances her demonstration
by providing the different models of rhetoric. These arguments are demonstrated as well through ideas
such as ethical behavior is necessary, fallacy of public argument in mainstream media, as well as the
three appeals using the power of emotion to persuade us.
Fallacies in argumentation occur in many different situations. One such situation where this is
apparent is fallacy of public argument in the mainstream media. These fallacies can be unintentional
though described by this quote, While fallacious arguments, if purposeful, pose real ethical problems,

She speaks on many different topic but her major premise is augmentation and what makes a good or
bad argument, as well as the nature of argumentation itself, She begins with discussing the idea that
argument is war, where she goes on to say further The war metaphor offers many limiting
assumptions: there are only two sides, someone must win decisively, and compromise means losing.
Jones describes how Americans see argumentation as a battle or war that can be won or lost. Jones
then goes on to talk about fallacies in the public and in media, she illustrates this with her usage of a
cartoon and a video link leading to a debate between john Stewart and a talk show host. Jones later
speaks upon classical rhetoric, rhetoricians such as Aristotle and Gorgias, and the nature of a good
citizen. She subsequently begins to introduce and elaborate upon deductive reasoning, inductive
reasoning and syllogisms, afterwards moving on to the three appeals. She then goes on to describe
Toulmin who views argument as it appears in a conversation, in a letter, or some other context because
real arguments are much more complex than the syllogisms that make up the bulk of Aristotle s logical
program, meaning that he sees arguments in

Three Standards Of Evidence
The three standards of evidence are preponderance of evidence, clear and convincing evidence, and
beyond a reasonable doubt. In the Cruzan case the court stated that they did not have convincing
evidence of Nancy s wishes because she did not have a living will. In the Cruzan case they only had
Preponderance of evidence when they first decided they wanted to disconnect Nancy s feeding tube.
Preponderance of evidence means that there is more evidence one way than the other. Preponderance
of evidence differs from the first two evidences because you need little to no evidence to win a case.
Most of this evidence is based off who is more believable. In this case the only evidence the Cruzan

Even though physicians were legally against taking Nancy off of the feeding tube because they were
afraid of what would happen if they did in the state of Missouri. This also ties to how much money
that was spent taking care of Nancy through out the years in the hospital because the family was
fighting the court. In our text at the end it states the family would have had more evidence if her
friends would have known her maiden name was Cruzan verses Davis. I think that this was their
convincing evidence. However it is sad that it took so long for her friends to recognize that she was in
this state for the pass five months. Once the court received her friends testimony, they legally removed

Essay On College Athletes Are Not Paid
College athletes have always been worked beyond imagine, and it is ridiculous to think that even in
today s society, college athletes are not paid. Unlike regular college students, student athletes are not
able to work jobs or make extra money because they put over forty hours a week in to their respective
sport. More often than not college athletes are taken advantage of because they put their bodies at risk
for injury and have no insurance or income to make it worthwhile. Of course, some college athletes do

According to Allen Sack, athletes are already essentially paid to play, by getting to go to college for
free, but they also deserve the same rights and benefits as other employees, which could include
medical benefits, workers compensation when injured, and the right to build financial security for
their family while in college, and the denial of these rights is morally unconscionable (Sack). It does
not make sense that college athletes are not paid because these athletes are the sole reason for
popularity in the college athletic apparel market, which brings in millions of dollars a year, yet college
athletes do not see a dime, even though they are the reason for sold jerseys and other apparel. Even
worse is the fact that college athletes are prone to getting injured and a rising star with a great future
ahead of him or her can have their contract (scholarships) canceled once a school realizes that they
will no longer be bringing value or money to their school. Of course, this sounds cruel, but it is the

Religion in Ancient China and Egypt Religion has played a very important role in society and the
history of mankind for over thousands of years. Originally created by ancient peoples as a way to
explain the unknown, religion has greatly evolved and spread across the globe. As new religions have
formed and spread, the diversity and similarities between these new religions have also increased,
especially due to their geographic locations. Two civilizations in particular with both similar and

The people who lived under the Shang Dynasty strongly believed that whenever their ancestors died,
they became similar to gods, and deserved to be worshipped as if they too were gods. Each family in
the Shang Dynasty would not only worship the gods, but would also worship their own ancestors.
Along with ancestor worship, during the late Shang Dynasty, people in ancient China also began to
use written oracle bones to try to predict the future and also to communicate with the gods. Ancient
China and ancient Egypt were both two sophisticated civilizations that created a religion as a way to
explain the natural phenomena they encountered and the unknown. Although different in many ways,
their religions do share many similarities with each other. One of these similarities is that both of the
religions are polytheistic. In both Chinese and Egyptian religion, there are many different gods, and
each god rules in their own domain. However, not only do both religions have more than one god in
them, but also many of the gods from both religions are very similar to each other in the sense that
they rule over the exact same thing. For example in ancient Chinese religion there is a sky god, just

Introduction
This report shows the differences and the similarities between Dundee University s heat energy
systems and those that are employed by Hillcrest Housing Association. The main technologies used in
the university are gas fired engines, whereas the Hillcrest building which has a biomass boiler. As far
as models of ownership are concerned, the University has established a wholly owned operating
company DUUSCo to undertake the Project. While, although owned by Hillcrest the biomass system
is operated and maintained under a 10 year agreement by Angus Biofuels who sell the energy to
Hillcrest. Finally, comparing the risks associated with security of energy delivery we can say that they
are similar. Even if the two heating systems are different, both of them had the same goal, reducing the
energy used and achieve low energy consumption. And move a step closer to sustainable and zero

Visual And Verbal Components Of An Organization Essay
Introduction
Culture is something like behavioral rules which are unwritten and unspoken that is produced when
group of people comes at a place to work together. Culture is created by the attitude, the values,
beliefs and important assumptions as well as performance and activities shared by a group of people.
Organizational culture is made up of every sort of experiences that all employee brings to the work
place. Organization culture is particularly introduced by the organization s founder, executives, and
other managerial staff because of their role in decision making and strategic direction.
The visual and verbal components of an organization s culture are evident every day at work. Whether
you are walking through a work area, sitting in an office, attending a meeting, or eating in the
lunchroom, the organization s culture surrounds you and permeates your working life. Culture is
represented in groups by: language, decision making, symbols, stories and legends and daily work
practices. Your bulletin board content, the company newsletter, the interaction of employees in
meetings, and the way in which people collaborate, speak volumes about your organizational culture.
Culture is how organizations do things . Robbie Katanga. Culture is consistent, observable patterns of
behavior in organizations. Aristotle said, We are what we repeatedly do. This view elevates repeated
behavior or habits as the core of culture and deemphasizes what people feel, think or believe.

A Streetcar Named Desire Symbolism
What do you think about when you hear A Streetcar Named Desire? When Tennessee Williams was
28, he moved to New Orleans, where he changed his name and revamped his lifestyle, soaking up the
city life that would inspire his work, most notably the later play, A Streetcar Named Desire. (
Tennessee Williams Biography ). William won his first Pulitzer Prize for this play. The play takes
place in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the late 1940s. This tragic play revolves
around the lives of Stanley Kowalski, his wife, Stella Kowalski, and Stella s sister, Blanche DuBois.
Williams relies greatly on symbolism and themes, throughout his play. In literature, symbols represent

Alcohol can also be used to demonstrate a character s personal flaws by attempting to conceal the
abuse of it. It can reflect the moral and social standings of individual characters; both by the amount
and by type of alcohol consumed. Both Blanche and Stanley seem to rely heavily on alcohol. Alcohol
is used as both a crutch and an excuse for poor behavior. When Stanley comes home, he asks Blanche
if she would like a drink. She reluctantly accepts and proceeds to drink two or three more glasses
before she finally stops. Blanche says, No, I rarely touch it. (85). Then Stanley says, Some people
rarely touch it, but it touched them often. (85). Blanche hides her alcoholism, constantly claiming that
she rarely drinks while secretly sneaking multiple shots. She uses drinking as an escape mechanism.
Alcohol helps her get rid of bad memories. However, Stanley does not hide his drinking like Blanche.
Stanley makes a show of drinking and openly pouring himself shots. Stanley, in his alcohol fueled
rage, throws the radio out of the window. It is because of this male behavior that Stanley uses alcohol
to establish himself as the dominant figure in any situation. When he gets drunk, he grows

Cute, fun, loving, cuddly, outgoing; these are only a few words to describe the animals that we have
come to know and love as a part of our families. Dogs have been man s best friend for hundreds of
years and were the first animal to be domesticated because they are great as companions, highly
intelligent, and were found to be very useful in human s everyday lives. Even though they made
excellent house pets they were highly successful at working side by side humans as well. They are not

This grab is strong and hard. There is always a large possibility that the suspect/criminal can/will be
bitten if they attempt to fight off the dog but when thinking about it even the dog gripping onto the
suspect will inflict a bite. They would not be able to hold the suspect as well if they did not apply
pressure into their grip. Before any dog has to be turned loose, they try to intimidate the person first by
giving them a warning that if they start to run, the dog will be released and will chase after them. A
barking tactic is also used to scare the person into not running away. Even in a case where the officer
and dog seem to have the upper hand, there are many situations where the tables can be completely
turned. Both the officer and the dog are trained to work together as a team. They must be able to fully
trust and understand one another especially when they are placed in extremely dangerous and stressful
situations. It is the responsibility of the officer the dog is being handled by to only use the dog when
the situation absolutely calls for it. Any other way would be very inappropriate and would be a terrible

The American Dream Is Overrated Essay
The American Dream is overrated. Let s just face it, it is dead. Not only is this a dream that is almost
lusted after by many Americans, this is a widely desired illusion that is far out of reach for most
working class people. The American Dream is more than the lifestyle of white picket fences that hold
backyard barbecues with your neighbors. It s earning a living wage that creates a comfortable quality
of life, having the security of retirement, and giving your children the opportunity to live a successful
life. The American Dream doesn t run on magic and fairy dust, it is fueled by hard earned American
dollars, persistence, and hope. Most modern, working class families can t expect to receive a
reasonable income to cover things such as medical expenses and emergencies. With that said, the stay
at home parent trying to reach the goal of a perfect oasis is even more taboo. It s hard to achieve this
dream , when you re the only breadwinner in your household. Parents can no longer live comfortably,
and in some cases even survive, on one person s income. The costs of homes, transportation, and
education combined with incredibly low wages often leaves families in a crippling financial situation,
making it virtually impossible to, keep up with the Jones s. Speaking realistically, most people live in
the moment. We focus on things happening in our lives now. Life itself is a constant quest for
happiness and security in a world that is very often uncertain, and even

Monologue Of Richard III
In Shakespeare s play Richard III he presents the story of the Duke of Gloucester, Richard, and his
continuous killing spree to become the king thus taking the spot of Edward III, which currently holds
the crown. This included the killing of all the royal male blood necessary for Richard to take the
crown. Right at the start of the play Shakespeare doesn t hide Richard s evil scheme in anyway, but
rather lays out the premise for the whole play through the mouth of Richard himself. RICHARD. And

devil and dissembling looks, And yet to win her, all the world to nothing! Ha! (1.2.236 38) which is to
be seen as a mockery because of the feat he just accomplished. Later we see how manipulative
Richard is and his ability to pretend to be timid and remorseful with the Mayor. RICHARD. My lord,
there needs no such apology. I do beseech your Grace to pardon me, Who, earnest in the service of my
God, Deferred the visitation of my friends. But, leaving this, what is your Grace s pleasure? (3.7.103

using another deceitful scheme to get the Mayor s approval. The Mayor is quick to fall into Richards

crown. This manipulative power that Richard has is not only used on the Mayor but on Buckingham

Canadian Bilingualism Essay
A nation is made up of people with similar beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, values, histories, cultures, and
languages. In many ways, a nation should be a foundation of identity, depending on what it is, to the
extent that individuals also have their independent characteristics.
The linguistic aspect of a nation can impact its citizens. For example, China includes any dialects of
Chinese language and Mandarin is one of the most spoken languages. Languages are what bind people
together socially and personally. Language is what allows people to have an individual identity. On the
other hand, Canada has two dominant languages, English and French and these languages have

Culture is closely related to ethnicity, although they are not the same thing. For example, Aboriginals
might be united ancestrally, but Inuit culture is different compared to Iroquois culture and Cree
culture. Canada is known as a multination state, meaning that Canada does not support any culture
over another. When immigrants come to Canada, they are free to express their culture and values in
public. This multiculturalism also makes Canada unique.
Some factors of nations can directly affect their citizen, like language, while other factors only affect
them through exercise. Patriotism is an example shown through love for one s country. For example,
people can show patriotism through joining Canada s armed forces or respecting their national
anthem. One can even criticize their government s actions or policies, if they are seen wrongly, to
show patriotism.
Religion is used in nations to unify citizens and create the collective identity. For example, Hinduism
is a dominant religion in India, which gives India a sense of identity. However, religion can also divide
people, because it might brew conflict. An example being the crisis in Syria, where there is conflict
between Muslims and the other minority religions. People also may have spiritual connections to their
land, the Aboriginals of Australia they have spiritual connections to their land. To the aboriginals, their

Analyzing Beyoncé s Countdown
I can remember when Beyoncé first released Countdown, it was monumental because she was telling
the public about her pregnancy and we did not even realize it yet. I can remember vividly what year it
was and where I was. It was 2011, I was a Sophomore in high school, and it was Homecoming for us.
We chose this song to represent the Sophomore class and we created a used a dance that we found
online. The new choreography was a bit harder than what was being done in the video but we made it
work. In addition to using the song for Homecoming, I always liked the music video to it because of
the color pop and quick movements. It never crossed my mind that this music video was a rendition of
a dance movie/video that was created before. After watching Rosas then Countdown, it changed my
appreciation for the work overall.
With being instructed to watch Rosas by Keersmaker first, I immediately had a feeling that the two
videos were similar in how they looked. For the first five minutes for Rosas, the dancers were just
frantically walking around. As the video progresses, I started to notice a lot of quick movements when

Beyoncé s rendition was like an ode to the past infused with the new. She took some of the past dances

that came off as sharp were edited to look that way. Most of Beyoncé s movements were to go along
with the song and mimic the fast pace of it compared to Rosas. In Countdown, there was some
individuality with all of the dancers including Beyoncé, for the most part, they all had on different

Selective Faith Maxim Essay
The book talks about two kinds of decision maxims when a situation presents itself. But before all
this, we must understand that the very nature of human being s existence is to find out the truth in
every situation. Living a life based on a lie goes against the very fabric of human nature. Therefore,
these two maxims are the just the means to achieve the real truth ultimately. The maxims are careful
scrutiny maxim and selective faith maxim. In careful scrutiny, the person would carefully evaluate all
options before settling for the best one. Minimization of risks and maximum results is what the careful
scrutiny aims to achieve.
Whereas, in selective faith maxim; the person would be a little more adventurous by exploring all
possible avenues before settling down for the one . Risk appetite here is more, the learning is given

eight inches wide. These differences in the deck give the unique uses for each. The smaller build of a
skateboard allows it to be maneuvered easily for tricks. On the other hand, longboards are built for

while providing his own opinion on the matter. He begins by defending former Air Force pilot Milo

The only variable evidence that McCarthy possesses for this claim is the knowledge that Murrow has

This meager piece of evidence lacks enough substance to make a bold claim labeling a pioneering
journalist such as Murrow into Communism territory. Though he may have been a member of this
union, accusing Murrow of being a Communist solely due to his membership is very narrow minded.
The fact of the matter is that McCarthy continuously fails to attest genuine testimony as to why he
makes accusations again and again. Even though he may seem outspoken in his approach, Murrow
proves a valid point as he reveals the error in McCarthy s thinking as he falsely accuses Radulovich of
being a Communist. Due to lack of solid evidence, McCarthy has no stance while accusing
Radulovich. Though his sister s political leanings suggest Communism, Radulovich can only speak for
himself and not his sister. (Clooney) Labeling Radulovich a communist, solely based on his family s
alliances is synonymous with claiming that Murrow is a Communist due to his membership in a leftist
union. It seems like McCarthy is on a witch hunt of sorts, out to call out anyone who goes against the
government or spoke ill of government practices. McCarthy orders the interrogation of Pentagon
communication worker Annie Lee Moss, solely based on her name appearing on a blacklist.

Out of Our Right Minds discusses issues such as the stereotypes and damaging myths that have

When marketed as an energy drink there is the Pros of being a drastically growing market which has
grown by 40% already and is projected to hit 13.5 billion by 2018 as well as no single product being

the market average. The con of an energy drink market would be that current news stories are
highlighting the health risks of Energy drinks and the diminishing number of consumers who are now
drinking them. The sports drink market have a much larger population of consumers ranging from
younger ages of 12 24. Also with the average sports drink being much cheaper people may not be

increase in childhood obesity who make up a large portion of the sport drink market the option of just

During and after the recessions associated with these crises, traditional banks and mortgage lenders

Essay on Death Of Celilo Falls by Katrine Barber
The purpose of this essay is to examine and analyze Katrine Barber s book, Death of Celilo Falls . In
this book, Barber successfully seeks to tell the story of a momentous event in the history of the West,
the building of the Dalles Dam in 1957. Celilo Falls was part of a nine mile area of the Long Narrows
on the Columbia River. Despite the fact that the Celilo Village still survives to this day in the state of
Oregon (it is the state s oldest continuously inhabited town), the assembly of The Dalles Dam in 1957
changed the way of life for the surrounding areas forever. Barber tells this story very well, and as it is

She also explains the differences in thinking between the two communities. The Dalles wanted the
increased modernity and economic security that a federal dam and professional river management
promised. (pg.14). The mid size town was on the verge of expansion and growth (pg. 27) and
supported the projects that would make the city the gateway between Portland and the cities of the
interior Northwest. (pg. 27). The Celilo Village and other surrounding Indians, however, saw the
building of the dam as an encroachment upon their resources. The building of the dam would
adversely affect the fishing industry which was vital to the native people s interests. She goes on to
describe the natives belief that they had a right to decide how the resources were used as well,
describing on pages 20 through 25, the ancient, thriving community that the natives had prior to white
settlement. According to Barber, the relations between the two communities were not entirely friendly,
especially since The Dalles and its non Native residents displaced older Indian communities, both
economically and culturally. (pg. 27) The interactions between the two communities were laced with
racism and there was not much inter mingling. Therefore, when the proposal of the Dalles Dam came
through, the people of The Dalles did not see the rights of the Indians as important, especially since

year after treatment. This could be associated with caregivers expectation that the patient would
quickly revert back to the role of partner (Schmid Buchi et al, 2011; Moreira et al, 2013). Providing
care for more than twenty hours a week was significantly associated with depression among
caregivers. Greater impact on caregivers schedule also predicted to increase guilt (Jaafar et al, 2014;
Spillers et al, 2008). However, Tang et al (2013) found providing end of life care for a relative, guilt
was derived from lacking time to provide care. Therefore caregivers who spent 17 24 hours a day may
have felt less deprived than those who provided 8 hours as the patient death approached. Carers
distress increases as patients cancer progresses to more advanced and terminal stages, where the
patient experiences more physical symptoms like pain. Given et al (2004) found a linear relationship
existed between higher numbers of patients symptoms (pain, nausea, distress, deterioration) and
caregivers level of depressive symptoms. Caregivers of patients receiving palliative care have high
prevalence of psychological distress during bereavement. Six

Freshman Year Transcripts
Transcripts Throughout my four years of high school, my GPAs have been pretty good. Spring
semester of freshman year was by far the best because I managed to end the year with a 4.0. However,
my classes started to get a little more challenging to me and after that semester, my GPAs started to go
down. I would have to say that my worst year was junior year. I ended the year off with four B s and
only three A s. I would definitely have to say that I let my classes get the best of me that year. Now
that it s my senior year, I now know to never let stress interfere with my grades because it is not worth
it. I hope I can achieve my goal of ending the year with a 4.0.
Attendance
Overall, my attendance has been good. I have only missed school if

Charolis Research Paper
When searching for the various breeds of cattle for the 2016 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, I
came crossed a couple different breeds from Herefords, and main Anjou, but then I came crossed the
Charolais. During my researching and talking to my FFA advisor I found out that the Charolis can be
an easy to handle and they adapt to a new environment pretty quick. I chose to raise a Charolais

Sunday, which started a good day, where I found the one I wanted. Unfortunately he still had horns but
I wanted him because of his beautiful body structure. This breed also was originated from France. The
breed of the Charolais was first introduced in Mexico and the southern states of America in the early
1946 and then introduced to the New England states by Canada In 1965. The cattle where used for
their draft, milk and meat. They are one of the oldest breed from France cattle breeds in existence.
They were built back then with lots of muscle and the had lots of the bulls were weighing in at around
2000 to 2500 thousand pound sand the cow were weighing in at 1250 to 2000 pounds. The bulls and
females are known for their muscling, correctness and size. There was a guy that was in ... Show more

There for that mean we will have to keep his coat of fur nice and silk and nice and shining. The
Charolais have more of the Smokey grey coloring on them and maybe a few white marking but it just
depends on the calf genetic and their hair like Cooper has big white marking in his stomach. The
Charolais calf has a very slow growth rate and the have lots of birth weight. When the come out the
mom cow they are about 90 pound and then when there about time to buy they range from 400 to 600
pound. They do well in the cold and warm summers and they are able to go to the pasture and eat
grass and gain weight and get muscle

  • 2. The Replacement Of A Single Tooth Introduction: The replacement of a single tooth lost due to dental caries or trauma can be challenging for a clinician. Traditionally several options are indicated in order to restore the edentulous space including implant/crown, fixed partial dentures (FPD) or removable partial denture (RPD). However economic factors, occlusal disturbances, lack of adequate bone support or excessive removal of healthy dental structure are some of the limiting factors in the traditional treatment modalities. One approach that is overlooked and may serve as a good treatment modality is the Fiber Reinforced Composite Bridge (FRCB). FRCBs are minimally invasive and economic treatment modalities that can be utilized to replace of a missing tooth and restore an edentulous space. Comparing Two Studies on estimated HIV Incidence and Prevalence Introduction In the era of HIV global pandemic, estimating incidence and prevalence correctly is critical, as it becomes a strong tool for authorities to decide next action, to mitigate infection rate and its multiple consequences to society. 2 studies investigated HIV estimated incidence from different approaches. Prejean et al studied the incidence estimates in the United States, by using a four year data obtained from HIV incidence surveillance from 16 states and 2 cities, and expanded the estimated incidence to other areas in the United States1; they used a ratio of group specific incidence at a measured area to new AIDS diagnosis, to AIDS diagnosis in other areas1. On the other hand, Walker et al estimated prevalence by applying two strategies; using HIV prevalence of pregnant women for countries suffering general epidemics, and using HIV prevalence in high risk groups for countries with localized epidemic to estimate HIV prevalence .2 After obtaining prevalence, they estimated prevalence using ratio of number screened against the specific group in that country against the adult population, and estimated incidence according to estimates on how long a person with HIV can survive and vertical transmission in the area with estimated national prevalence2. One of the bests things about living in America is getting to see almost every difference first hand even if you do live in Princeton, WV. I didn t see as many cultural differences until I started to attend college at Bluefield State College. But that isn t where I met Eduardo Henrique Pereira. We met playing soccer on my old high school s soccer field one sunny afternoon. He is from San Paulo, Brazil and currently attends Princeton Senior High School. He is only seven teen years old and has been in America for only nine months. I was very eager to find out what his hobbies and interests are and just how different Brazil was from America. The first topic discussed was holidays. We first talked about how he celebrates Christmas Day. He said that they all would wake up and eat breakfast together first thing that morning. They would then visit and begin making lunch shortly after. They made rice, black beans, chicken, cakes, candies, and would have it with wine. At first when I heard wine I was a bit thrown off guard, but he explained that the drinking age is eighteen unlike America where it is twenty one. He then proceeded with telling me that around eight at night they would all sit around the tree and one person will be designated to get the presents under the tree and call out the name that was on the present much like we do here in America. Dogs have been man s best friend for hundreds of years and were the first animal to be domesticated because they are great as companions, highly intelligent, and were found to be very useful in human s everyday lives. Even though they made excellent house pets they were highly successful at working side by side humans as well. There is always a large possibility that the suspect/criminal can/will be bitten if they attempt to fight off the dog but when thinking about it even the dog gripping onto the suspect will inflict a bite. Before any dog has to be turned loose, they try to intimidate the person first by giving them a warning that if they start to run, the dog will be released and will chase after them. A barking tactic is also used to scare the person into not running away. Even in a case where the officer and dog seem to have the upper hand, there are many situations where the tables can be completely turned. Both the officer and the dog are trained to work together as a team. They must be able to fully trust and understand one another especially when they are placed in extremely dangerous and stressful situations. It is the responsibility of the officer the dog is being handled by to only use the dog when the situation absolutely calls for it. Any other way would be very inappropriate and would be a terrible miss use of the animal. • 24. The American Dream Is Overrated Essay The American Dream is overrated. Let s just face it, it is dead. Not only is this a dream that is almost lusted after by many Americans, this is a widely desired illusion that is far out of reach for most working class people. The American Dream is more than the lifestyle of white picket fences that hold backyard barbecues with your neighbors. It s earning a living wage that creates a comfortable quality of life, having the security of retirement, and giving your children the opportunity to live a successful life. The American Dream doesn t run on magic and fairy dust, it is fueled by hard earned American dollars, persistence, and hope. Most modern, working class families can t expect to receive a reasonable income to cover things such as medical expenses and emergencies. With that said, the stay at home parent trying to reach the goal of a perfect oasis is even more taboo. It s hard to achieve this dream , when you re the only breadwinner in your household. Parents can no longer live comfortably, and in some cases even survive, on one person s income. The costs of homes, transportation, and education combined with incredibly low wages often leaves families in a crippling financial situation, making it virtually impossible to, keep up with the Jones s. Though he may have been a member of this union, accusing Murrow of being a Communist solely due to his membership is very narrow minded. The fact of the matter is that McCarthy continuously fails to attest genuine testimony as to why he makes accusations again and again.
