The Watergate Scandal Of Lyndon M. Nixon
On November 5, 1968 Richard M. Nixon was elected the 37th president of the United States. While in
office Nixon dealt with an unstable economy and oversaw reforms in welfare, civil rights and more. In
foreign affairs Nixon helped end the Vietnam War, reestablish contact with china and improve
relations with the Soviet Union. In 1972 Nixon was reelected in a landslide victory. However, His
undoing was already in the works. A few months prior to Nixon s reelection a group of men linked to
the Nixon administration were arrested in the Democratic party headquarters in Washington s
Watergate complex and what followed was one of the biggest scandals in presidential history. The

1 The Watergate Scandal
I. Introduction In 1968 Richard M. Nixon a 55 year old former vice president who lost the presidency
for the Republicans in 1960 reclaimed himself by defeating Hubert Humphrey in one of the closest
elections in United States history. On July 23, 1970 Nixon approves for a plan for greatly expanding
domestic intelligence gathering by the FBI, CIA, and other agencies. He later has second thoughts
though. A few days later he resends his approval. On September 9th 1971 the Whitehouse plumber
unit named for the orders to plug leeks in the administration steals files on Daniel Ellsberg, the former
defense analyst who leaked the pentagon papers from a local physiology office. On the evening of
August 8th 1974 President Richard Nixon gave his last speech ever as the face of the United States.
His resignation changed the ideas of political trust in the country. The Watergate scandal destroyed the
reputations and revised the rule of law and politics.
II. The Infamous Watergate Scandal In 1972 Washington police arrest five burglars with political at
the highest levels. The president is under fire. Washington DC, May 28th 1972, a presidential election
is less than six months away. Five burglars meet in front of the Watergate complex with a simple plan;
break into the Democratic National Committee headquarters on the sixth floor.1 This is a crew

Three Reasons To Choose A Glock For Your First Handgun
Three Reasons to Choose a Glock for Your First Handgun
The first time you go shopping for a handgun, you will probably be confused by an array of models,
styles, capabilities and other attributes of a gun. There are, however, certain guns that have a good
reputation that has lasted for decades, and it is a good idea to begin your search for your first handgun
with those manufactures. One example is the Glock. There are several reasons that this pistol is a good
choice for your first handgun. The following are three reasons for this.
They fit the hand nicely

Damnation Reflection
In the film, Damnation, the narrator displays the impact of dams in the United States, the minimal
benefits and detrimental consequences to the environment. The film provided necessary information
of dams that allows individuals to make an informative decision on which side of the argument they
want to take. The film positively moved me, especially during interviews where those affected by
dams specified their individual experiences. The film provided three different perspectives on the
impact that dams have, which consist of the anthropocentric, ecocentric, and religious viewpoints to
help viewers take a side on the matter at hand.
The purpose of the film is to inform and educate people about the impact dams have on the
environment. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ben and Travis trying to kayak through a dam really helped show how devoted they are to the cause
and put themselves in harms way in order for this to get across to people. A second reason I felt
touched by the film is how they got individuals who have been personally hurt by dams to interview
for the picture, providing their two senses on the issue and what they have experienced before and
after dams were built. Lastly, the statistics and data provided during the film really help to put a
number figure on how dams have impacted individuals and the environment; by the number of deaths
that have occurred do to breaks in dams and by the number of fish that have been depleted in rivers
and streams because they can no longer make the journey back to spawn.
In Glen Canyon, two archeological teams had limited time to find as much archeological artifacts that
they could recover and document sites before the area was going to be flooded. The term they use is
salvage, which means the sole purpose of the job is to document cultural treasures before they are
flooded by the dam. Everything was going to go under, but at least the teams would have the data and
records so that they could make museum displays and write books about the area that no one knew
existed. Furthermore, Katie Lee who was part of one of the archeological teams in Glen Canyon
thought of this place as an archeological treasure that should have never been destroyed by the

How To Write A Narrative Essay About Golfing
I was so tired. My family and I had been kayaking since eight o clock a.m. on this balmy Saturday
morning, and the time was now approaching two p.m. With little rain the week before, kayaking was
harder today than almost any other. This deficiency of precipitation caused the water to be low,
therefore we had to walk when the rocks cropped out above the water. My exhaustion was beginning
to affect my attitude. It seemed as if everything was so dark and awful, since I was just simply
fatigued by my early day s work. At this stage of misery, I didn t know what was going to help me get
out of it. My dad came up with a grand idea as we approached our eleventh mile on the Little Coal
River. He said, Nate this would be wonderful! Doug (one of our good family friends), invited us to
come play golf with him and the boys (his twin sons, Preston and John Logan) at Berry Hills. Almost
immediately, I cringed. There was nothing I hated more than golf, and now I had to play it on the same
day as riding the river for what seemed like endless hours. With my soul crushed by the continuous
paddling, I knew I needed to make the most out of this golfing experience. Having never played on an
actual golf course before, aside from the small driving range across from my house, I was honestly
somewhat intrigued. I got out of the car with a grin on my face, sweat on my brow, and a seven iron in
my bag. I walked towards the putting green with a pep in my step, forgetting about my

Causes of Depression Essay
Depression is a rapidly growing mental illness that strikes millions, but they never know the cause of
this common, yet sometimes, harmful illness. If victims and potential victims knew what caused
depression, they could do more to prevent it from happening. In order to know what causes
depression, one has to know what it is. The online dictionary defines it as a condition of general
emotional dejection and withdrawal; sadness greater and more prolonged than that warranted by any
objective reason (Dictionary: 1) .
Depression doesn t just come from one single cause, but instead, likely results from a combination of
genetic, biochemical, environmental, and psychological factors (NIMH: 1) . The National Institute of
Mental Health also goes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s a general stereotype that they stay up late and sleep all day. It may seem like the fun thing to do,
but it can cause problems. Due to a lack of being able to sleep, it has an effect on functioning, as well
as leading to psychiatric disorders. In teens, depression can be caused by sleeping too much or too
little, so getting just the right amount of sleep is still ideal (Psychology Today: 1).
On a more recently noted fact, eating junk food can cause depression as well. Junk food is bad for
your weight and health, but British and French scientists also found that it causes depression. These
scientists analyzed data from 3.486 men and women by their food and mood data (Hindustan: 1) .
Each person was given a questionnaire about the food they ate. Five years later, those same people
were given a questionnaire that measured symptoms of depression. The results showed people who ate
more processed foods were depressed, compared to people who ate healthier (Hindustan: 1).
A shocking discovery that may baffle all is that the Internet causes depression, as well. British
scientists that researched this cause said that the longer people spent online, the less likely they were
to be happy (Internet: 1) . The study also says the worst cases were both depressed and addicted.
Unfortunately, it was not clear to the scientists whether the internet caused depression or vice versa.

The Effects Of Sleep And Variables On Sleep
This paper will cover the scientific study of sleep and variables which impact sleep by examining the
five different stages of sleep, evaluating dreams and nightmares, assessing the causes and effects of
sleep disorders and the various types of treatments, in addition to the effects of food and drugs on
sleep. There are five stages of sleep, numbered one through four and REM (Rapid Eye Movement)
sleep. Upon falling asleep, the brain and body goes through each stage to comprise sleep cycle which
approximately has a duration of 90 minutes. Stage One commences when the body and brain begin to
relax. During this stage, heart beat slows down, breathing becomes regular, and blood pressure tends
to decrease (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). In addition, brain activity starts to shift, moving from beta
waves to the slower alpha waves. Despite being deeply relaxed in this stage, it is still very easy to be
awakened (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). Following Stage 1, the mind and body move to Stage Two. In
this stage the body becomes more relaxed so it is less aware of its surroundings (Huffman. K, 2011,
p.174). Short burst of rapid brain waves known as sleep spindles, can be visually observed against the
background of an electroencephalogram (EEG) (Fogel, S. M., Nader, R., Cote, K. A., Smith, C. T.
(2007). Sleep spindles and learning potential. Behavioral Neuroscience, 121(1), 1 10). Following
Stage Two, Stages Three and Four take place. These stages are much deeper levels of sleep because

Summary OfDear Matafele Peinam Poem
The poem Dear Matafele Peinam by Kathy Jetñil Kijiner is a tremendously moving poem about
climate change. To begin, two of the main symbols of this poem are the lagoon and hands. Firstly, the
lagoon symbolizes what the world could look like if people do not change. It shows the negative
aspects of the world, and it also highlights the direction Earth is going. This symbol can be interpreted
from the quote men say that one day / that lagoon will devour you (10 11). This implies that scientists
are claiming that the Earth is headed in the wrong direction, and change is necessary before Earth
devours its residents. Next, hands symbolize collaboration and change. Whenever hands were
mentioned, it was always associated with change. A few examples are hands reaching out / fists
raising up (62 63) and marching with signs / hand in hand / chanting for change NOW (80 82). These
are powerful statements about rallies and statements about change. The hands are symbols of how the
only way to save the planet for the future generations is to collaborate and work together to achieve a
common goal.
Furthermore, this poem heavily uses a mixture of literal and figurative imagery. One of my favourite
examples of imagery in this poem was hands reaching out / fists raising up / banners unfurling /
megaphones booming (Jetñil Kijiner 62 65). This quote allows the reader to imagine the protests and
the movements that people are trying to do in order to save the planet. That was a case of extremely
powerful and inspiring literal imagery as it shows people s fight for change. This is an example of
people who are fighting to save the planet for not only the current generation but for future
generations as well. There are also several examples of figurative imagery, the most prominent is
personification. An example of personification is they say [the lagoon] will gnaw at the shoreline /
chew at the roots of your breadfruit trees / gulp down rows of your seawalls / and crunch your island s
shattered bones (12 15). In this example, it is talking about the repercussions of climate change and
what the future will look like if people do not change. The use of personification helps the reader
understand the awful things that can

Frida Kahlo And The Mexican Community
Frida Kahlo once said At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can. There is
no better person to say this than Kahlo, whose life was filled with pain and sadness. She was one of
the most influential artists of her time, especially in the Mexican community.. The most important
aspects of her life were her multicultural background, her tragic accident she survived as a teen, her
relationship with Diego Rivera, her death, and her face as a product.
Frida Kahlo was born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón, July 6th, 1907, in Coyoacan,
Mexico. Her mother, Matilde Calderon y Gonzalez, was of indigenous and Spanish descent. Her
father, Wilhelm Kahlo, was German. The combinations of the two heritages gave Frida a rich cultural
background, which was a key part of her artwork. Kahlo developed polio at the young age of 6, which
left one of her legs thinner and weaker than the other one. It is also speculated that she may have had
spina bifida, which would also hinder the growth of her leg. Although she suffered from these
afflictions, her father encouraged her to be active and participate in sports, such as swimming,
wrestling and boxing. It would be September 17, 1925, that Kahlo s life would be changed forever. It
was a normal day, and Kahlo had been out shopping with her boyfriend, Alex Gomez Arias. They
decided to board a bus that would take them back home to Coyoacan. A streetcar collided with the bus
that the couple were on, and Kahlo was

Film Review
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Is a wonderful movie to watch. Although it isn t something that
happens in real life it is still incredibly relatable. It tells a story that hasn t really been done, that s a
good thing because it makes the movie unpredictable. This movie is loosely based on the book F. Scott

Filmmaker
David Fincher was the director of this film. He was born in 1962 in Denver, Colorado. When he was
18 years old he went to work for John Korty at Korty Films in Mill Valley. He subsequently worked at
ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) from 1981 1983. Fincher left ILM to direct TV commercials and
music videos. Fincher has directed TV commercials for clients that include Nike, Coca Cola,
Budweiser, Heineken, Pepsi, Levi s, Converse, AT T and Chanel. (IMDb)
David Fincher is known for his controversy with Fight Club, but the film was successful. He also has
embargo controversy with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, so you could say that he is a pretty
controversial guy. The film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, brought Fincher his first Academy

Information Security Information Analysis
Data security is not just imperative to consumers whose information is stored; it is also significant to
the organizations who store this information. A failure to secure information can impede a business in
a number of ways. Losing information that gives an organization a competitive advantage can lead the
destruction of; and cause consumers to abandon the organization and seek out another organization to
do business with.
Data is information that is changed and stored into useful reports. The role of a security expert is to
prepare, plan and alleviate potential dangers that could steal or cause damage to that data. As an
employee of a video game development company, my role as an Information Security Engineer is
significant to the organization s prosperity.
With reports from the CIO that malicious activity is on the rise, analyzing the system is essential to
guarantee that the data that is critical to the organization s success is secured. Since assaults must be
executed on a framework with vulnerabilities, I should analyze the system to address concerns, for

Exposure of females to androgen agonists imbalances sex hormones in the brain. Anxiety, mood
disorders, and pathopsychological behaviors are the resultant effects 1. These presentations are caused
by alteration in the amygdala region of the brain. For example, the expression of AR gene inhibits
anxiety is suppressed while increasing the expression of the serotoninergic GABAergic receptor1.
Exposure also causes infertility in some females. Where children are born, males are prone to insulin

the social, economic and technological development of that society. For the people of Ohio, corn is an
example of one such aspect. Even before the arrival of the Europeans, corn played a crucial role in the
progress of the civilizations of early Ohio. These people chose to import their food source, rather than
use homegrown sources. Their choice to use corn as a crop had serious ramifications on the economy

How The Geographical, Governmental, And Human Development...
Those considered poor in developing countries often lack the fundamental access to buy adequate
food, water, or other basic needs. Although recent World Bank data has revealed that world poverty
has declined 43 percent since 1990 and 52 percent since 1981, poverty is still a worldwide
phenomenon that is prevalent even among the most highly industrialized countries . Presently,
according to World Bank data, 1.22 billion people live on less than $1.25 a day in 2010 and 2.4 billion
people live on less than US $2 a day in 2010. This is almost half of the world s population. The scope
of this study is limited somewhat because poverty is a multidimensional concept in which a
voluminous number of factors can be causally related to this phenomenon. Therefore, this research
will seek to answer what impact does the geographical, governmental, and human development
characteristics have on the rate of poverty in developing countries.
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
The existence of poverty is as old as time itself, and still perplexes scholars of the world today. The
conceptualization of poverty is a multifaceted phenomenon in which varying factors contribute to this
worldwide problem. Thus, six arguments of poverty will warrant closer examination: including
culture, gender inequality, economic growth, geographical region, human development, and
government. First, scholars that link culture to poverty argue those countries that are inherently poor
must change their prevailing customs and

Quentin Tarantino s film, Pulp Fiction, uses words to the fullest of their meanings. Words in the film
amplify meaning through their duplicity. Characters call one another names wherein the names
meanings enhance our understanding of what the character is saying. Even if the author or speaker

The change in perceived meaning of the word and the ensuing change in expected reaction made him
feel foolish. Rightly, discovering that he had used the wrong word was not an este em shattering blow
to Ringo, but it illustrates how the perceived meaning of a word and the ideas it means transmit
forecast the expected reaction. The association carried by a name may either amplify or inhibit a
character s emotional state. Jules call s the young man Ringo in the restaurant superficially because of
his English accent. Strategically, Jules identifies the young man with a broadly admired celebrity to

admiration that Ringo Starr receives upon the young man. Obviously, Jules did not go through this

Jigsaw Vs 3 Movies
In the past 10 years, it seems that every film coming out in the summer is a new film to start a
franchise, or yet another sequel in a franchise universe. Hell, there are films in low budget horror
franchises that are going on their 3rd films. I don t even want to mention there s yet another Saw film
called Jigsaw that is due to be released pretty soon.
Just as I predicted the downfall of 3D films in 2015, I predict that the major success of franchise films
will eventually wither away for a good while. Why? A good thing can only last so long before people
get tired of it. Do you love pizza? Of course you do. Would you love to work at a pizza place where

That is a terrible start for a cinematic universe with the help of Tom Cruise.
What movies we did get this year were some fantastic original films. Baby Driver, Dunkirk, The Big
Sick, and Wind River. All of these films made a lot of money each, and they all got phenomenal
reviews. Why? Because people didn t know what to expect. You can go into a Marvel film and be
wowed by the visuals, but you know they re all paint by numbers with different paint brushes.
Not only are those original films crushing it at the box office, an increasingly growing movement of
horror films are cleaning up at the box office. Like IT, small budget horror films can bring in the
crowds with little money. The movie The Conjuring made $318 million on a budget of $20 million (I
get that it has become a franchise, but they re still low budget and earn major bucks). The movie
Annabelle made $256.9 million on a budget of $6.5 million. I couldn t tell you one person who stars,
wrote, or directed any of those movies. There are a dozen more examples, but you get my point.
What further makes these franchise films start to get weighed down with costs are the actors. No one
really cares about A list actors anymore in films. I don t go see a superhero film because of a certain
actor is in it, no, I go and see it because of the action and comic book story. Have you heard about any
films beyond Iron Man that Robert Downey Jr. did that did well in theaters

The Nature And Role Of Law In Democracy
The nature and role of law is important to political theory because the use of law raises important
questions about oppression versus liberation and morality. Law in a democracy in relation to the
citizens that it governs should strive not to oppress, but rather to liberate and assist citizens when in
conflict with higher officials or fellow citizens. Laws in a democracy should be held with the intent of
safeguarding the public and promoting the common good. John Stuart Mill makes a valid point when
he says: The only purpose for which power can rightfully be exercised over any member of a civilized
community against his will is to prevent harm to others.
In addition to this, there is a fine line between the law and morality, as not every citizen shares the
same moral values. Law is able to be more finite, as it has a written set of rules that citizens should
strive to follow. However, morality is more subjective, as it weighs the right and wrong in given
situations.
The rule of law simply states that the law should be the overarching guideline. The rule of law
provides a framework that both citizens and government officials should follow. John Locke stated
that the rule of law provided protection from every other member of society, as indeed they are from
him. The rule of law allows for the right to life, liberty, and property so long as harm is not taken to

Eastern Woodland Indians
Europeans often thought Indians on one hand were vicious cannibals, with no social organization, but
on the other hand pictured an Indian society as being orderly, advanced, and civilized. There are nine
famous paintings I had to analyze. The pictures showed Indians were civilized people. Life among the
Eastern Woodland Indians was organized, together, and civilized in their own way. The economy for
the Woodland Indians was organized and everyone had a job. They were able to adapt to their
surroundings. For their religion they believed that every animal or living thing has a soul. So they
would thank the first animal they killed of the year, but the photo shows them doing some sort of
dance for their dead. For their diet they would eat what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were very developed. In photograph two we see the Indians working on a canoe or tearing down
a tree, but they don t have axes, they only have fire. So Indians couldn t have been backwards or
undeveloped , if they adapted without axes. To be civilized is to be able to adapt and to be able to
work together as one. Europeans perceive Indians as unmannered and disgusting. Evidence is in
photograph nine, when they are eating off the ground and their food is laying in the dirt. It might
impact two people, because one might be an Indian or have Indian blood, and the other will think of
that one a lowly or think of that person in a bad way. Indians perceived Europeans as a problem.
Indians didn t like their government, they liked their way and their chief. Indians didn t like the
Europeans culture. The Indians thought of it as bad. The Indians didn t like the Europeans religion
either. The Europeans didn t, think all living things had a soul and they didn t give thanks to their first

1.Introduction:
Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) is defined by a weight for height ratio below 3z scores of the
median WHO growth standards, through visible severe wasting or through the presence of nutritional
oedema 1 . SAM affects twenty million children under the age of five worldwide where one million of
these children die every year1. Senegal, a country in West Africa with an estimated population of 13
million people experiences a 20% mortality rate in children affected by SAM 2. This report will
outline the current state of SAM in Senegal, programs and policies presented in Senegal in efforts to
reduce the prevalence of SAM, evident gaps in these programs with a description of a suggested
policy not currently employed and its implications.
Burden:
In 2014, 2.25 million people in Senegal suffered from insecurity of food with 340,000 children under
five suffering from acute malnutrition and 79,000 experiencing severe acute malnutrition 2. Senegal is
divided into fourteen regions, further divided into forty five departments. Nine of these departments
experienced critical levels of SAM in 2013 with an additional five departments experiencing threshold
SAM levels in addition to diarrhea and respiratory illnesses. Thus, fourteen departments continue to
require immediate attention to treating SAM 2.

Why Is The Alchemist Important
An excerpt from the bible; For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also (Luke 12:34)
shows that your heart is there for you to make choices in order of finding what you value most. Not
everyone is able to find the significance in searching for treasure in life, however. Whether it may be
striving to find your true values, or having to chose between two of your favorite things in order to
move forward in life, not everything comes easy. Obstacles are placed in front of everyone s path until
they re able to find their treasure. Finding your treasure isn t possible if you don t follow your heart.
This was true, of course for the main character, Santiago, from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. With
the enlightenment and strength perceived from other figures in the book, Santiago learns that with a
heart full and determination, he could also find the treasure of a Personal Legend. Through Santiago s
decisions, The Alchemist examines the significance of following your heart. The importance included
within following your heart is found in the story when Santiago follows his Personal Legend that he
was bound to achieve after awakening from a dream that convinced him to journey through the desert.
An example of great remedy given by the king has him explain that A mysterious force will begin to
convince them that it will be impossible for them to realize their Personal Legend (Coelho 21). When
the words were first spoken to Santiago, he had but no clue of what

Mobile Payment Technology And The Consumer s Decision...
Mobile payment technology offers benefits to consumers and merchants by providing advanced
payment control and convenience for consumers and an elevated output for merchants.
There are many merchants competing for a portion of the mobile payment, but the lack of cooperation,
standardization and lack of choices from the mobile industry has created the customer confusion that
is associated to the actual technological changes and the evolving mobile competition.
Banks and Mobile technology companies are contending for a part of the portable payment, and they
face some challenges because of the lack of an agreement on the Mobile payment architecture. There
is customer demand for mobile and contactless payments, but some banks and Mobile companies that
want to decide the mobile architecture are affecting the consumer s decision process .
Mobile payments standards like NFC are credited with incorporating the best of Mobile and
contactless payments which will increase the customer s savings. Retailers will benefit from the price
cutback in payment processing. Mobile carriers will also benefit from higher profits from new Mobile
consumers and retailers.
Introduction/Thesis
Mobile and contactless technology had a big support from Asian countries like Japan and the
Philippines, where mobile platforms were launched. In 2002, the European Telecom Standards
Institute issued the first guidelines, Mobile Commerce (M Comm); Requirements for Payment
Methods for Mobile Commerce .

CLINICAL MANIFESTATION Enlarged hands and feet are common feature with acromegaly. People
with this disorder often notice that they can no longer put on rings that used to fit and that their shoe
size has progressively increased. Gradual changes in the shape of their face, such as a protruding
lower jaw and brow, an enlarged nose, thickened lips, and wider spacing between the teeth can also be
noted (Z. Killinger, J. Payer, I. Lazúrová et al 2010). Because it tends to progress slowly, early signs
may not be readily apparent for several years. Sometimes, people notice the condition only by

The liver produces a hormone called insulin like growth factor I (IGF I) when GH is secreted into the
blood stream. This result in the growth of bones and other tissues. If the pituitary gland makes too
much GH, excessive amounts of IGF I can result leading to abnormal growth of the soft tissues and
skeleton and other signs and symptoms characteristic of acromegaly and gigantism. In adults, a tumor
is the most common cause of too much GH production: Pituitary tumors. Most cases of acromegaly
are caused by a noncancerous tumor of the pituitary gland. Secretion of excessive amounts of growth
hormone causes the signs and symptoms of acromegaly. Symptoms such as headaches and impaired
vision are resultant of the tumor mass pressing on nearby brain tissues. Tumors in other parts of the
body, such as the lungs, pancreas or adrenal glands can also cause acromegaly in few people. These
tumors are from non pituitary origin which sometimes secrete GH. In some cases, the tumors produce
a hormone called growth hormone releasing hormone (GH RH) which stimulates the pituitary to make

Against The War Essay
Against The War
I began exercising my rights as an American citizen in earnest when I was 12 years old. During
lunchtime at school, a few kids in my class placed thumbtacks on my teacher s chair (an old trick).
She was understandably very upset when she sat on them. Not having DNA and fingerprint testing at
her disposal, Ms. Hana issued the ultimatum that unless those who had committed the act came
forward, she would be forced to punish the whole class. We had until the end of the day to produce the
guilty persons. The next day Ms. Hana came in and said that we would all be facing detention that day
since she had not managed to find out whodunit. I raised my hand and respectfully said that I was sure

I am silent. My heart is too heavy to say anything. The gravity that pulls me down to the ground with

It is hard to keep a hungry child quiet. It is hard to silence the cries of a mother who has buried yet

Why Do Machines Have A Good Thing To Have In Our Society
In perspective three it is discussing how machines are a good thing to have in our society, it is also
discussing how we can become more than we already are which means we are able to enhance our
lives because of our knowledge and machines. The other subjects that the statement are trying to
justify are that we as humans have more possibilities, new ideas and a better intelligence. I agree with
the idea that we are able to better our society along with our lives since we now have machines. Now
that they are in our lives we are able to accomplish more work at a time, as well as apply that the
technology that we have and advance it within our medical fields. If we begin to use technology we

Since we have phones to help us communicate with one another we hardly look up from them
anymore. Yes phones can be helpful when we are in a bad situation or have to get information to
someone quickly, but there is a time to stop looking at them. We no longer look at people when we are
speaking to them, but down at our phones which I find as rather rude. There was once a time before
we had phones and computers and we would talk to everyone around us and we were more lively.
Since we now have phones it is a partial reason our writing skills have decreased, people have a harder
time of structure a sentence and using punctuation correctly. Not only are we falling in grammar, but
also in shorting our words, such as instead of writing out the words be right back we put BRB I have
seen children write a sentence like this and I see that as depressing. I believe this could possibly ruin
our society later on in time, by not communicating with one another we will fall apart by not actually
communicating with one another and addressing the problems around us. This is why I agree with the

Clinical Study On Prostate Health Assessment
4.0 Clinical Section Prostate Health Assessment
Introduction: The Clinical MENU button brings up the methodology for recording clinical history,
Family History, current symptoms and signs. The International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) is
used and combined with a Quality of Life (QoL) score allows graphical recording and an indication of
when to consider urology referral. Serial recording will be useful in following a patient s progress,
either prior to or post treatments.
4.1 IPSS / QoL Score (Prostotism)
The International Prostate Symptom Score (I PSS) is based on the answers to seven questions
concerning urinary symptoms and one question concerning quality of life.
Each question concerning the urinary symptoms allows the patient to choose one out of six answers
indicating increasing severity of the particular symptom. The answers are assigned points from 0 to 5.
The total score can therefore range from 0 to 35 (asymptomatic to very symptomatic).
The questions refer to the following urinary symptoms:
Question Symptom
1 Incomplete emptying
2 Frequency
3 Intermittency
4 Urgency
5 Weak Stream
6 Straining
7 Nocturia
Question eight refers to the patient s perceived quality of life.
The first seven questions of the I PSS are identical to the questions appearing on the American
Urological Association (AUA) Symptom Index which currently categorises the symptoms as follows:
Mild (symptom score less than of equal to 7)
Moderate (symptom score range 8 19)

Cosmopolitanism, Artificial Intelligence, And Factor X

The reality is that these intelligent machines can imitate a majority of human action and responses and
this proves to be true in the Turing Test. A Harvard graduate student, a judge of the Turing test, said I

(Christian 98). Although there have been great advancements made in the development of artificial
intelligence they are not normally considered to be human, specifically because they do not have a life

(Fukuyama 197). As of right now AI do not have a sense of self or the ability to differentiate between
the emotions and feelings that humans have, but with further research scientists are hopeful that there
is progress being made in that area of the development of AI. The issue here is that what morals and
ethics would apply to artificial intelligence, now while they do not have a conscious and in the future
if they can possibly be programmed with a conscious. There would also need to be morals and ethics
in how artificially intelligent machines are treated. In Fukuyama s essay he writes that There have

off such a machine if and when this breakthrough occurs, (Fukuyama 197). Ethics would indeed have

Bad Leadership Theories
Abstract When I think of bad or evil leadership, I think the power between leaders and followers are
often locked in a complicated dance of sorts. Leadership today is a phenomenon, which implies that a
leader, by nature, is someone wise and inspirational. However, it is better to understand that
sometimes a leader is driven by darker forces, as well as their followers. Leadership can be painted in
shades of gray, sometimes in black and bad leadership is as ubiquitous as it is insidious. This is not to
say that bad leadership is more prevalent than good leadership, anymore than it could be said that bad
people are greater in number than good people, but just as human nature is complex, leadership is
prone to shades of gray and black as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sweatshops Problem
Bangladesh is considered to be among the worst locations of sweatshops with ...more than 4,800
factories and 3.5 million people employed in the... garment industry, producing cheap clothes under
appalling working conditions for major international brands (War on Want, 2016). This issue involves
women, men and children, however it impacts women the most as women account for 85% of the

Australia contributes to this issue by having retailers which use the sweatshops and order clothes from
them, these can include stores such as Rivers, Coles, Target and Kmart. However, this is not the only
way Australia is contributing, Australian organisations also try to help this situation, for example,
OXFAM Australia have been trying to help the situation for more than 20 years, and they are keeping

Representations Of Discovery In Robert Frost s Tuft Of...
It takes a monumental experience to recognise discovery and to that extent the composer s manipulate
their ideas on discovery and represent them in a way that is memorable. Robert Frost s Tuft of flowers
, Mending wall and Jean Marc Vallée s Wild have intertwining ideas of Nature and Relationships that
leads to emotional and intellectual discoveries. In this speech I will present to you my understanding
of how Representations of discovery are made memorable through the composer s ways of
communicating .
In Robert Frost s Tuft of flowers , the connection of man and nature leads the composer to make an
emotional discovery. Frosts unorthodox rhyming style of having 5 iambs in each line makes the poem
unique and its quest to realising discovery unique. With that in mind by choosing an unusual form,
Frost makes the idea apparent to me in a way that is memorable. Also Frost contrasts the flower with
the cut grass shows that he has encased a connection between them and himself as he recognises the
beauty of the flower in ...and led my eye to look/At a tall tuft of flowers beside a brook this new
understanding lead him on the path of finding the emotional discovery. Through this poem, Frost
showed me that discoveries can lead to refinding yourself and finding new perceptions and by
demonstrating this idea he has further my understanding of discovery through the notion of making it
memorable.
In the notion of discovery, a connection with nature leads to an unparalleled growth in one self as
shown by Jean Marc Vallée s Wild . Like Frost s Tuft of flowers , Wild shows the connection to nature
is essential to the path of discovery. Vallée uses naturalistic lightning on the face of his character to
shows the emotions, and expressions the character has on the various of landscape from the desert to
the snow. The uses of the lighting highlights the changes of the characters emotion throughout her
journey across the land and thus illustrates her new found discovery of her emotions. In some sense,
both Tuft of flowers and Wild , makes their ideas memorable by using different techniques to elevate
their characters, by doing so the concept of discovery becomes more apparent to me.

What Makes A One Stop Guide On The Landscape
A ONE STOP GUIDE ON HOW TO LANDSCAPE
It is of utmost certainty that people nowadays admire beautiful and incredibly structured gardens and
home fields and back yards. Not only is it applicable to home grounds and fields but it is also quite
possible to perform landscaping techniques on any outstretched field that you may have in mind.
To the uninitiated landscaping refers to any activity and process that directly alters and modifies
natural, abstract and the living elements alike of an outstretched area of land. That said, landscaping is
an artistic activity that requires highly trained expertise in horticulture.
For living features, it requires modification of the surrounding flora and fauna of the area of land and
such activities lead to growth and nurture of plants with the intention of creating a breathtaking
environment within the intended area undergoing landscaping. This is what is commonly referred to
gardening in simple terms.
Secondly, when it comes to the natural features, this entails making changes to the land s terrain,
elevation and the general landforms. Finally, the abstract features are the elements that relate to the
weather and the lighting conditions of the area of land undergoing landscaping.
The landscaping process need not be a humongous and an overwhelming exercise for it is easy to
manipulate and implement. It basically involves two crucial steps i.e. landscape design and the actual
landscape construction. The landscape design involves a series of

Mary Anne s character showed increasingly inhuman and savage tendencies. She wore a bush hat and

young pure girl to this indigenous person living in a harsh jungle by describing her attire, a bush hat,

Standards For Financial Decision Making
Abstract. The article reviewed was Standards for Financial Decision Making: Legal, Ethical, and
Practical Issues. The key of the abstract is to emphasize the existence of standards and statutory
mechanisms for financial decision making. The article is based on standards of the National
Guardianship Association (NGA) (p. 1275).
Introduction. The authors study the meaning of term standard . Some dictionaries determine the term
standard as a model of acceptance, others as a measuring criterion. If entities do not operate under the
established standards, they face with sanctions for ethical violations and professional negligence. The
authors analyzes principles and guidance of NGA standards, and frequent mistakes when making
financial decisions. The main objective of the study is to analyze conflicting issues of financial
decision making, guardianship problems, and adoption of NGA standards (pp. 1275 1276). The study
is important because it demonstrates practical approaches of applying standards to the common
financial decisions. The authors consider two problems: the impact of fiduciary duties on decision
making standards, and the acceptance of model behavior by guardians of business.
Literature Review. The authors use a systematic review of literature in the research. The literature
review is categorized into three parts: general principles of decision making, the role of guardian and
conservator in decision making, the relationships between fiduciary duties and

first time your tooth was worked on, there should not have been any crowns or posts to remove. This

Jessica Day Essay
Welcome to Bixby, a seemingly normal town in Oklahoma. Possibly a very stereotypical Midwestern
rural community, Bixby is all about dirt roads and country living. What could possibly be strange
about this unexciting place? A group of high school students; Rex, Dess, Melissa, and Jonathan sure
know. They hold the power to walk in the secret 25th hour of the day; one that was made purely to
keep humans out. At exactly 12 AM, the Midnighters have a whole hour to do whatever they wish.
Time freezes and the gang is free to roam the world. In addition to an extra hour each night, the teens
are blessed with powers that are categorized into four groups. Seer, which grants the Midnighter the
ability to see what other Midnighters have touched; Polymath, the power to ... Show more content on

The only problem is the darklings, who dwell in the Blue Time and cause trouble, but for the most
part, they stay at bay. That is until Jessica Day moves from Chicago. Now the darklings are using all
the power they have to eliminate Jessica, a newcomer to the secret hour. The main problem is, no one
knows why. In the first few chapters, Jessica is astounded by the utmost beauty of the frozen midnight
rain, but she soon discovers the true identity of the secret hour. During her second trip to the Blue
Time, she has to be saved by Rex, Melissa, and Dess who use thirteen letter words and steel, both of
which are things darklings hate. The next day, Rex explains to Jessica how the 25th hour of each day
came to existence, what exactly lives there, who can access it, and the powers that each of the
Midnighters has. None of them can figure out what Jessica s talent is, only that her ability isn t similar
to any of the other Midnighters. Jonathan, who doesn t get along with Rex, shows up at Jessica s
house and takes

  • 2. The Watergate Scandal Of Lyndon M. Nixon On November 5, 1968 Richard M. Nixon was elected the 37th president of the United States. While in office Nixon dealt with an unstable economy and oversaw reforms in welfare, civil rights and more. In foreign affairs Nixon helped end the Vietnam War, reestablish contact with china and improve relations with the Soviet Union. In 1972 Nixon was reelected in a landslide victory. However, His undoing was already in the works. A few months prior to Nixon s reelection a group of men linked to the Nixon administration were arrested in the Democratic party headquarters in Washington s Watergate complex and what followed was one of the biggest scandals in presidential history. Nixon a 55 year old former vice president who lost the presidency for the Republicans in 1960 reclaimed himself by defeating Hubert Humphrey in one of the closest elections in United States history. On July 23, 1970 Nixon approves for a plan for greatly expanding domestic intelligence gathering by the FBI, CIA, and other agencies. He later has second thoughts though. A few days later he resends his approval. On September 9th 1971 the Whitehouse plumber unit named for the orders to plug leeks in the administration steals files on Daniel Ellsberg, the former defense analyst who leaked the pentagon papers from a local physiology office. On the evening of August 8th 1974 President Richard Nixon gave his last speech ever as the face of the United States. His resignation changed the ideas of political trust in the country. The film provided necessary information of dams that allows individuals to make an informative decision on which side of the argument they want to take. The film positively moved me, especially during interviews where those affected by dams specified their individual experiences. The film provided three different perspectives on the impact that dams have, which consist of the anthropocentric, ecocentric, and religious viewpoints to help viewers take a side on the matter at hand. The purpose of the film is to inform and educate people about the impact dams have on the environment. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ben and Travis trying to kayak through a dam really helped show how devoted they are to the cause and put themselves in harms way in order for this to get across to people. A second reason I felt touched by the film is how they got individuals who have been personally hurt by dams to interview for the picture, providing their two senses on the issue and what they have experienced before and after dams were built. Lastly, the statistics and data provided during the film really help to put a number figure on how dams have impacted individuals and the environment; by the number of deaths that have occurred do to breaks in dams and by the number of fish that have been depleted in rivers and streams because they can no longer make the journey back to spawn. In Glen Canyon, two archeological teams had limited time to find as much archeological artifacts that they could recover and document sites before the area was going to be flooded. The term they use is salvage, which means the sole purpose of the job is to document cultural treasures before they are flooded by the dam. Everything was going to go under, but at least the teams would have the data and records so that they could make museum displays and write books about the area that no one knew existed. Furthermore, Katie Lee who was part of one of the archeological teams in Glen Canyon thought of this place as an archeological treasure that should have never been destroyed by the creation ... My family and I had been kayaking since eight o clock a.m. on this balmy Saturday morning, and the time was now approaching two p.m. With little rain the week before, kayaking was harder today than almost any other. This deficiency of precipitation caused the water to be low, therefore we had to walk when the rocks cropped out above the water. My exhaustion was beginning to affect my attitude. It seemed as if everything was so dark and awful, since I was just simply fatigued by my early day s work. At this stage of misery, I didn t know what was going to help me get out of it. My dad came up with a grand idea as we approached our eleventh mile on the Little Coal River. He said, Nate this would be wonderful! Doug (one of our good family friends), invited us to come play golf with him and the boys (his twin sons, Preston and John Logan) at Berry Hills. Almost immediately, I cringed. There was nothing I hated more than golf, and now I had to play it on the same day as riding the river for what seemed like endless hours. With my soul crushed by the continuous paddling, I knew I needed to make the most out of this golfing experience. Having never played on an actual golf course before, aside from the small driving range across from my house, I was honestly somewhat intrigued. I got out of the car with a grin on my face, sweat on my brow, and a seven iron in my bag. I walked towards the putting green with a pep in my step, forgetting about my ... If victims and potential victims knew what caused depression, they could do more to prevent it from happening. In order to know what causes depression, one has to know what it is. The online dictionary defines it as a condition of general emotional dejection and withdrawal; sadness greater and more prolonged than that warranted by any objective reason (Dictionary: 1) . Depression doesn t just come from one single cause, but instead, likely results from a combination of genetic, biochemical, environmental, and psychological factors (NIMH: 1) . In teens, depression can be caused by sleeping too much or too little, so getting just the right amount of sleep is still ideal (Psychology Today: 1). On a more recently noted fact, eating junk food can cause depression as well. Junk food is bad for your weight and health, but British and French scientists also found that it causes depression. These scientists analyzed data from 3.486 men and women by their food and mood data (Hindustan: 1) . Each person was given a questionnaire about the food they ate. Five years later, those same people were given a questionnaire that measured symptoms of depression. The results showed people who ate more processed foods were depressed, compared to people who ate healthier (Hindustan: 1). A shocking discovery that may baffle all is that the Internet causes depression, as well. British scientists that researched this cause said that the longer people spent online, the less likely they were to be happy (Internet: 1) . The study also says the worst cases were both depressed and addicted. Unfortunately, it was not clear to the scientists whether the internet caused depression or vice versa. Because of the ... The Effects Of Sleep And Variables On Sleep This paper will cover the scientific study of sleep and variables which impact sleep by examining the five different stages of sleep, evaluating dreams and nightmares, assessing the causes and effects of sleep disorders and the various types of treatments, in addition to the effects of food and drugs on sleep. There are five stages of sleep, numbered one through four and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Upon falling asleep, the brain and body goes through each stage to comprise sleep cycle which approximately has a duration of 90 minutes. Stage One commences when the body and brain begin to relax. During this stage, heart beat slows down, breathing becomes regular, and blood pressure tends to decrease (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). In addition, brain activity starts to shift, moving from beta waves to the slower alpha waves. Despite being deeply relaxed in this stage, it is still very easy to be awakened (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). Following Stage 1, the mind and body move to Stage Two. In this stage the body becomes more relaxed so it is less aware of its surroundings (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). Short burst of rapid brain waves known as sleep spindles, can be visually observed against the background of an electroencephalogram (EEG) (Fogel, S. M., Nader, R., Cote, K. A., Smith, C. T. (2007). • 8. Summary OfDear Matafele Peinam Poem The poem Dear Matafele Peinam by Kathy Jetñil Kijiner is a tremendously moving poem about climate change. To begin, two of the main symbols of this poem are the lagoon and hands. Firstly, the lagoon symbolizes what the world could look like if people do not change. It shows the negative aspects of the world, and it also highlights the direction Earth is going. This symbol can be interpreted from the quote men say that one day / that lagoon will devour you (10 11). This implies that scientists are claiming that the Earth is headed in the wrong direction, and change is necessary before Earth devours its residents. Next, hands symbolize collaboration and change. Whenever hands were mentioned, it was always associated with change. A few examples are hands reaching out / fists raising up (62 63) and marching with signs / hand in hand / chanting for change NOW (80 82). These are powerful statements about rallies and statements about change. The hands are symbols of how the only way to save the planet for the future generations is to collaborate and work together to achieve a common goal. Furthermore, this poem heavily uses a mixture of literal and figurative imagery. One of my favourite examples of imagery in this poem was hands reaching out / fists raising up / banners unfurling / megaphones booming (Jetñil Kijiner 62 65). This quote allows the reader to imagine the protests and the movements that people are trying to do in order to save the planet. That was a case of extremely powerful and inspiring literal imagery as it shows people s fight for change. This is an example of people who are fighting to save the planet for not only the current generation but for future generations as well. There are also several examples of figurative imagery, the most prominent is personification. An example of personification is they say [the lagoon] will gnaw at the shoreline / chew at the roots of your breadfruit trees / gulp down rows of your seawalls / and crunch your island s shattered bones (12 15). In this example, it is talking about the repercussions of climate change and what the future will look like if people do not change. The use of personification helps the reader understand the awful things that can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Frida Kahlo And The Mexican Community Frida Kahlo once said At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can. There is no better person to say this than Kahlo, whose life was filled with pain and sadness. She was one of the most influential artists of her time, especially in the Mexican community.. The most important aspects of her life were her multicultural background, her tragic accident she survived as a teen, her relationship with Diego Rivera, her death, and her face as a product. Frida Kahlo was born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón, July 6th, 1907, in Coyoacan, Mexico. Her mother, Matilde Calderon y Gonzalez, was of indigenous and Spanish descent. Her father, Wilhelm Kahlo, was German. The combinations of the two heritages gave Frida a rich cultural background, which was a key part of her artwork. Kahlo developed polio at the young age of 6, which left one of her legs thinner and weaker than the other one. It is also speculated that she may have had spina bifida, which would also hinder the growth of her leg. Although she suffered from these afflictions, her father encouraged her to be active and participate in sports, such as swimming, wrestling and boxing. It would be September 17, 1925, that Kahlo s life would be changed forever. It was a normal day, and Kahlo had been out shopping with her boyfriend, Alex Gomez Arias. • 19. The Nature And Role Of Law In Democracy The nature and role of law is important to political theory because the use of law raises important questions about oppression versus liberation and morality. Law in a democracy in relation to the citizens that it governs should strive not to oppress, but rather to liberate and assist citizens when in conflict with higher officials or fellow citizens. Laws in a democracy should be held with the intent of safeguarding the public and promoting the common good. John Stuart Mill makes a valid point when he says: The only purpose for which power can rightfully be exercised over any member of a civilized community against his will is to prevent harm to others. In addition to this, there is a fine line between the law and morality, as not every citizen shares the same moral values. Law is able to be more finite, as it has a written set of rules that citizens should strive to follow. However, morality is more subjective, as it weighs the right and wrong in given situations. The rule of law simply states that the law should be the overarching guideline. The rule of law provides a framework that both citizens and government officials should follow. John Locke stated that the rule of law provided protection from every other member of society, as indeed they are from him. During lunchtime at school, a few kids in my class placed thumbtacks on my teacher s chair (an old trick). She was understandably very upset when she sat on them. Not having DNA and fingerprint testing at her disposal, Ms. Hana issued the ultimatum that unless those who had committed the act came forward, she would be forced to punish the whole class. We had until the end of the day to produce the guilty persons. The next day Ms. Hana came in and said that we would all be facing detention that day since she had not managed to find out whodunit. I live in the country that harbored Timothy McVeigh. I gave taxes that paid for his education. I too am guilty by association. I am silent. My heart is too heavy to say anything. The gravity that pulls me down to the ground with my knees up against my chin, pulls the tears from my eyes. You see, the Afghani people are not silent. It is hard to keep a hungry child quiet. It is hard to silence the cries of a mother who has buried yet another child who has died of thirst. I look at the tears falling into my hands. I wonder if tears can be collected for drinking. I write not about religion, nor do I write about the guilt or innocence of a man who was never given a trial to begin with. If I did write about such topics I would be writing in vain since I am no expert on terrorism like the journalists Steve Emerson and Judith Miller* who so insightfully saw the fingerprints of Islamic Fundamentalism mere minutes after the tragic Oklahoma City Bombing. Why Do Machines Have A Good Thing To Have In Our Society In perspective three it is discussing how machines are a good thing to have in our society, it is also discussing how we can become more than we already are which means we are able to enhance our lives because of our knowledge and machines. The other subjects that the statement are trying to justify are that we as humans have more possibilities, new ideas and a better intelligence. I agree with the idea that we are able to better our society along with our lives since we now have machines. There was once a time before we had phones and computers and we would talk to everyone around us and we were more lively. Since we now have phones it is a partial reason our writing skills have decreased, people have a harder time of structure a sentence and using punctuation correctly. Not only are we falling in grammar, but also in shorting our words, such as instead of writing out the words be right back we put BRB I have seen children write a sentence like this and I see that as depressing. • 35. Representations Of Discovery In Robert Frost s Tuft Of... It takes a monumental experience to recognise discovery and to that extent the composer s manipulate their ideas on discovery and represent them in a way that is memorable. Robert Frost s Tuft of flowers , Mending wall and Jean Marc Vallée s Wild have intertwining ideas of Nature and Relationships that leads to emotional and intellectual discoveries. In this speech I will present to you my understanding of how Representations of discovery are made memorable through the composer s ways of communicating . In Robert Frost s Tuft of flowers , the connection of man and nature leads the composer to make an emotional discovery. Frosts unorthodox rhyming style of having 5 iambs in each line makes the poem unique and its quest to realising discovery unique. With that in mind by choosing an unusual form, Frost makes the idea apparent to me in a way that is memorable. Also Frost contrasts the flower with the cut grass shows that he has encased a connection between them and himself as he recognises the beauty of the flower in ...and led my eye to look/At a tall tuft of flowers beside a brook this new understanding lead him on the path of finding the emotional discovery. Through this poem, Frost showed me that discoveries can lead to refinding yourself and finding new perceptions and by demonstrating this idea he has further my understanding of discovery through the notion of making it memorable. In the notion of discovery, a connection with nature leads to an unparalleled growth in one self as shown by Jean Marc Vallée s Wild . Like Frost s Tuft of flowers , Wild shows the connection to nature is essential to the path of discovery. Vallée uses naturalistic lightning on the face of his character to shows the emotions, and expressions the character has on the various of landscape from the desert to the snow. The uses of the lighting highlights the changes of the characters emotion throughout her journey across the land and thus illustrates her new found discovery of her emotions.
