Antiquities Act
The first major piece of legislation that applied to the protection of indigenous remains and cultural
materials came with the passage of the Antiquities Act of 1906. The act had major implications for the
relationship between anthropology and Native Americans. The intent of the Antiquities Act was to
protect the cultural resources of the United States by creating a permitting process for archaeological
excavations and establish punishments for looting. Unfortunately, the act furthered the notion that
anthropologists held authority over indigenous material culture (Daehnke 2011). Instead of protecting
artifacts for indigenous parties, the act legislated the appropriation of culture by anthropologists.

This law has proven to be a significant triumph for Native people. NAGPRA has allowed living
American Indians to exercise their traditional responsibilities toward the dead. NAGPRA states that:

Native American human remains and associated funerary objects shall compile an inventory of such
items and, to the extent possible based on information possessed by such museum or Federal agency,
identify the geographical and cultural affiliation of such item (Native 1990).
The law was written to support the efforts of the repatriation movement. As indicated, the law
encompasses the field of anthropology, giving anthropologists and archaeologists a chance to
determine cultural affiliation of prehistoric populations and allowing for a compromise between tribal
groups and the scientific

Violence In Things Fall Apart Essay
Violence in Things Fall Apart In great literature, no scene of violence exists for its own sake. Things
Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe uses violence as a means to portray the struggles between change and
tradition. The scene that captures this struggle the best is the murder of Ikemefuna. Within in the scene
the reader is both exposed to the traditions of Umuofia and the Ibo culture as well as, the struggle and
moral hardships they place on the people of the tribe. The killing of Ikemefuna exemplifies the
struggle between tradition and change that occurs throughout the entirety of the novel. Ikemefuna was
brought to Umuofia as payment for the killing of a young women from the tribe. The clan leaders
decided that Ikemefuna would live with Okonkwo at his compound. While staying at the compound
Ikemefuna formed a close bond with Okonkwo s oldest son, Nwoye (Achebe 34). The two of them
became inseparable and Nwoye began to look up and admire Ikemefuna. Okonkwo appreciated ...

Okonkwo had grown to love Ikemefuna, but in the end he could not choose to be weak. Ibo tradition
states that men are warriors and that there are certain prices to be paid. Tradition did not account for
Okonkwo s love. Love was a weakness for men, they were meant to be stoic and strong. Throughout
the murder of Ikemefuna Okonkwo has an inner struggle between choosing to breakaway from what is
expected of him and save the boy or what is the tradition of the Ibo culture (61). He chooses the latter
and slices Ikemefuna down with his machete. The violence of the scene is then contrasted by the
morose tone of the portion of the novel that immediately follows. Okonkwo does not speak and barely
eats for the next few days (63). He mourns the boy in secret. Too afraid to show feelings, Okonkwo
hides away from the world. The killing of Ikemefuna clearly portrays the struggle between tradition
and change in Things Fall

Fuecal Contamination Of Water
Water has a huge ability to serve as a mode of transmission for certain pathogens. Even though water
carries so many different pathogens, due to fecal contamination, it is impossible and expensive to try
and ensure ever type of water is free of pathogens. In this experiment, we verified three different
samples of water and determined the amount of fecal contamination in each. The three samples of
water included: Little John Lake, Leaf River, and a roadside lake. It was predicted that all three water
samples would be affected by some coliforms, but that the water sample, Little John Lake would
contain the most coliforms, which contained fecal contamination. In order to determine which sample
of water contained the most fecal contamination,

1939- 1945 Were Possibly The Worst Years In American History.
1939 1945 were possibly the worst years in American history. During this time, World War II was
occurring. Adolf Hitler was in complete control. He even went outside the battle grounds to wreck
havoc. He went to Babi Yar...the last place where Jews could hide.
Babi Yar is located in Kiev, Ukraine. During World War II, a massacre took place in the small town,
killing more than 1,000 Jews. The Nazis attacked them on September 29, 1943. Afterwards, the war
continued to rage, only to end in 1945. During World War II, Adolf Hitler rose to fame as the harsh
dictator of Germany. Hitler would then form his own army, then known as the Nazis. The Nazis would
go on to terrify Germany, then would go on to slowly take control of Europe. As most ... Show more

During the massacre, over 1,000 Jews, Soviet Officials, and Russian prisoners were killed. They were
executed at the Babi Yar ravine. ( The Einsatgruppen) The total count of people murdered at Babi Yar
was 34,000. The total count of Jews murdered in World war II was 6 million. This massacre occurred
towards the end of the war. Shortly after the massacre, the United States would jump in to save the
day! They would help the Allies defeat the Nazis and their army. Hitler would still go on to terrify the
rest of Europe after Babi Yar. The aftermath of Babi Yar is not a great one. It took over 6 years to
rebuild Babi Yar and everything that was destroyed at Babi Yar. Many shelters, homes, buildings, and
personal stations were destroyed during the massacre. The Nazis showed no mercy. (Hjelnguard, Kim)
After the massacre, the Nazis tried to hide evidence that anything ever happened by covering the dead
bodies with nothing but dirt and rock. The Nazis were convicted of what they tried to escape with, and
some were caught. They not only tired to hide the bodies with dirt and rock, but they even burned
them! When the remains were given to families, they were probably holding some stranger that they
never even met, instead of their loved ones. Shortly after the Nazis were convicted, things slowly
started going against Hitler and the Nazis. With the help of the United States, the Allies defeated the

Public Relations Assistant Experience Paper
The aim of this paper is to discuss and elaborate on the experience, insights, value, and practical
training gained throughout my internship as a Public Relations Assistant at Louisiana Delta
Community College with the Director of Public Relations Mrs. Darian Atkins. As the director, she
develops and executes strategies that create and uphold a positive public image for the college and
Chancellor Dennis Epps by working and forming relationships with various members of the media,
government, and public. As the assistant, I acted as the support for Mrs. Atkins by researching to
construct stories and press releases, completing administrative tasks, and photographing events.

In addition, Mrs. Atkins enlightened me that with any friction, you must have a plan to maintain the
company s status. For example, she made a chart on the steps to take to ensure that the college s image
did not diminish and that including faculty and staff is critical. Although confidentiality is good, you
cannot misinform the media because that could lead to a disaster.
Second Point: Adobe Creative Suite
My first attempt with Adobe Creative Suite was during my practicum. Ms. Castillo showed me a few
tasks in Photoshop, but entering the intern, I was introduced to more such as InDesign and Illustrator.
Mrs. Atkins ordered me to use only Adobe because it was a great technical skill to have and most
businesses use it today.
Before using it on my own, she had me examining her tool with the program to get better knowledge
of it. One day after an event, we went to edit photos in Photoshop to post them on Facebook. During
editing, she explained when printing an image, you must save it in CMYK to make the image s colors
stay true. CMYK refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key
(black). However, if you are posting it for social media purpose, it is best to save in RGB. The RGB
color model is an additive color model in which red, green and blue light are added together in various
ways to reproduce a broad array of colors.

Character Analysis OfThe Mill On The Floss
The sharp and unruly main character of The Mill on the Floss is Maggie Tulliver. She is a gell gone
nine, at the outset of the story, the daughter of the miller Mr. Tulliver, and lives with her family on the
banks of the Floss (Eliot 8, 9, 12). When Mr. and Mrs. Tulliver begin discussing the issue of Tom s
education in their first conversation of the story, they segue into discussion of his sister. While Mrs.
Tulliver derides Maggie for being unsensible, brown skinned, and altogether unlike her side of the
family, Mr. Tulliver defends her, saying she s a straight, black eyed wench as anybody need wish to
see. I don t know i what she s behind other folks s children; and she can read almost as well as the
parson, (Eliot 12). Maggie s parents further describe her physiognomy for the reader later in this
conversation. From Mrs. Tulliver s perspective, her daughter s hair exemplifies the issue with Maggie
s character. But her hair won t curl all I can do with it... an there s her cousin Lucy s got a row o curls
round her head, an not a hair out o place, Mrs. Tulliver frets (Eliot 12, 13). Maggie s mother feels that
her daughter is a comical mistake, with her dark, heavy locks, air of a small Shetland pony, and
likeness to a Bedlam creature, (Eliot 12, 13). Because of this dissatisfaction, Mrs. Tulliver is forever
attempting to make her daughter more similar to herself and to other folks s respectable, curly haired
children. Later in the story, Maggie s character is further established by juxtaposition to her brother
Tom. Tom Tulliver differs from Maggie not only in appearance, but also in garnering motherly
affection: Mrs. Tulliver continually speaks of him with great approbation and pride, greeting him as
my sweet lad! on his return from school (Eliot 30). In addition to this contrast in affection, a contrast
in physical character is evident between the siblings. Tom is described as a lad with light brown hair,
cheeks of cream and roses, full lips, indeterminate nose and eyebrows... the generic character to
boyhood, while Maggie is moulded and colored with the most decided intention, a dark eyed,
demonstrative, rebellious girl, though it is noted that these physical appearances

Are Antisense Oligonucleotides and Effective Trearment for...
Introduction The concept of an Antisense oligonucleotide (an ASO) was first introduced by
Stephenson and Zamecnik, who used an antisense nucleotide to stop viral replication in cell culture[1].
The effectiveness of ASOs as treatments has already been seen in other disease, such as Vitravene (or
Fomivirsen), which was the first ASO made publicly available, and is used to treat cytomegalovirus
retinitis, as well as Isis 3521 which when given to lung cancer patients in addition to combination
chemotherapy has been seen to raise life expectancy by as much as 50%[2]. From these past
successes, many have hypothesised that they might make an effective treatment for Huntington s
disease (HD) as well, which currently we are only able to treat the ... Show more content on

From the effectiveness of the application of antisense oligonucleotides in other disease of a similar
pathology, it stands to reason that ASOs should be a viable therapeutic for treating Huntington s
disease. Issues with the use of ASOs as therapeutics While a promising target, the use of antisense
oligonucleotides in treating Huntington s disease has not been without its issues. The first issue that
using ASOs in the treatment of HD that we face is the lack of stability found in ASOs in their normal
state. Without modification, most ASOs are broken down immediately upon entrance into the host
body by intracellular endo and exonucleases. This is a huge fault in therapeutics, as if the ASO is
broken down it will be unable to produce its desired effects, but also as one of the by products created
by its degradation dNMP2 mononucleotides is cytotoxic and so could cause further potential harm to
the patient [2]. This problem has been resolved in many cases through modifications to the structure of
the ASOs. One such modification is it s methylation to form a methylphosphonate backbone, which
has a far superior stability to the original ASO, but has itself faced issues due to the reduction in
charge that occurs after methylation, which reduces the ASOs stability in the body. Another, far more
widely used modification in

John Millington Synge s Romantic Vision of the Aran...
John Millington Synge s Romantic Vision of the Aran Islands When John Millington Synge made his
way to the western most islands of Ireland he was in search of inspiration for his writing. The fruit of
his journey was the fame winning book entitled The Aran Islands . Synge had many purposes for this
book, but one of the most compelling was his desire to write an anthropologically geared account of
the people and lifestyle of what many believed to be the last bastion of true Irishness. However, Synge
s anthropological work could not avoid the strong Romantic tendencies that influenced his writing. In
my opinion it is Synge s Romanticism that makes his account more believable. ... Show more content

In Part One of the book he begins by relating the image of the Aranmor countryside as he walks
through it for the first time. He states:
I was wandering out along the one good roadway of the island, looking over low walls on either side
into small flat fields of naked rock. I have seen nothing so desolate. Grey floods of water were
sweeping everywhere upon the limestone, making at times a wild torrent of the road... Whenever the
cloud lifted I could see the edge of the sea below me on the right, and the naked ridge of the island
above me on the other side... (Synge 2)
The most vivid aspect of this passage is the diction, which Synge uses to describe the island s
environment. More than once Synge uses the word naked to refer to the rock. He also builds further
that image by calling the land desolate and wild . Synge also makes an important play of the colors of
the Aran Islands. He uses the images of grey and black quite often throughout the book. At one point
he states that everywhere he turns he finds, ...the same grey obsession twining and wreathing itself
among the narrow fields... (Synge 46). By describing the island thus he helps the reader build the
image of the Aran Islands as something quite distinct from the lushness of the Irish mainland. The
contrast between the environment of the islands and the mainland is important for Synge to establish,

Peterloo Revolution
Discussion
Why did Parliament pass a law forbidding the breaking of factory machines?
During the Industrial Revolution, the factory machines decreased the number of workers needed to
perform certain tasks. The extraneous workers were fired, which angered the newly unemployed
factory workers. These workers then rioted in several countries, smashing the machinery that they
blamed for their unemployment. The violence from this frightened Parliament into passing the law
forbidding the destruction of factory machines.
What caused the Peterloo massacre?
During the Industrial Revolution, labor unions were illegal in England. However, the times were hard
enough that factory workers decided to join together and fight for better working conditions anyway.

This led to the French promising assistance to an Irish rebellion. When poor weather prevented a
major French landing, England was able to quell the rebellion, but feared another French invasion by
way of Ireland. Hoping to ease the situation, prime minister William Pitt persuaded Parliament to pass
the Act of Union. This legislation joined all of the British Isles as the United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Ireland.
William Blake s writing contained aspects of romanticism. Describe William Blake s beliefs and how
they affected his writing?
William Blake was one of several transitionary writers between the Age of Reason and the Age of
Romanticism. He saw the poverty and suffering that surrounded him and was a supporter of the
French Revolution in its early days. He could not accept the neoclassical idea of a stable, orderly
hierarchy in the universe, but instead viewed existence as a blending of opposite poles good and evil,
innocence and experience, heaven and hell. His magnum opus Songs of Innocence and Songs of
Experience is the epitome of how his work embodied his beliefs.

others as they please. They abused their privileged status to contravene the laws in the magic world
arbitrarily. Snakes denote the distinctive talents and nobility in the magic world. Additionally, the

It is an argument we teach our children not to make; because one does something wrong, it is okay for
you do to do it too. The double standard begins when one political party looses power and becomes
the minority and when the new majority power is accused of performing the same underhanded tactics
as they had previously committed.
Arguments about wasteful spending and pork barrel politics are prime examples of slanted,
hyperbolic, rhetorical devices, designed intended to describe an undesirable behavior of the
opposition. Of course, wasteful spending and pork barrel politics can be quite subjective as a claim
(p.508) depending on the speaker and the agenda. The same logic of the double standard applied to
them is now downplayed and euphemized with attempts at redirecting the argument to a fallacy of
composition (p.53) in that what they accused their opposition of was right for them to do because their
intent was righteous and good for America , therefore not wasteful spending. This is also an argument
involving nationalism, invoking the well being of the country with the assumption that by doing so,
their argument will automatically be accepted. (Moore Parker, 2007, pp.53, 175).

Analysis of the Film Good Will Hunting Essay
Good Will Hunting is the graceful tale of a young gentleman s struggle to find out where he belongs in
the world, by first finding out who he himself is. In this film, Matt Damon takes on the role of a
disturbed genius that has a keen understanding of the deepness of human character. The film is a
voyage through the mind of Will Hunting as he is required to undergo psychotherapy as an alternative
to serving jail time. With the assistance of a psychologist, played by Robin Williams, Will learns about
himself and recognizes his individual worth in the world by comprehending what is most important to

He is not wearing any masks because he feels protected in these situations. In the times where Will is
in a position where he is hiding inside himself, or he doesn t have that sense of security, Van Sant does
a very obvious color change to more colder hues, such as blue and white. This use of color builds a
feeling of manipulation and unease, being distant and unfriendly. One such example is Will s first
encounter with Sean, the psychologist. He is staring at a work of art that is suspended on the window
and as he is looking at it, he is examining its artistic worth and Sean s life (Van Sant Bender, 1997).
The nearer he gets to the image, the more frigid the light gets until the conclusion of the monologue
when he is directly facing it and the sunlight produces an impression that is quite comparable to an
overexposed photograph, which causes Will to look especially bizarre, and terrifying. In this big
moment, there is an entire change in mood within one shot. The frigidness of the shot forms a sense of
reckoning and the viewer can identify with how Will lashes out when he is in circumstances he doesn t
feel comfortable with. Furthermore, Vant Sant makes statements which are just as strong through his
use of camera angles and shots. Together with the film s cinematographer, Jean Yves Escoffier, he
creates a mise en scene which is striking and powerful

General Social Survey Essay
Starting in 1972, the General Social Survey (GSS) used a four category response scale for respondents
to answer a question on how they view their own health, known as the self reported health question
(SRH) (Smith 2005, 1). The four categories used were: poor, fair, good, and excellent (Smith et al.
2017, 385) Starting in 2002, the GSS started using both a four and five category scale for people to
respond to the SRH (Smith et al. 2017,1537). The five category scale used the same measures from
the four category scale, but also included very good as the fifth option. The question is: which

After that, I will also use a table of correlation coefficients and look to see if there is a substantial
difference between the two sets of coefficients. The variables I will be using are years of education,
self reported social class, and self reported happiness to check the correlation coefficients (details
about these questions are available in Appendix A) I chose these variables because each of them have
an effect on how people perceive their own health. For education, it is believed that the more educated
a person is, the better the health respondents report (Borgonovi and Pokropek 2016:11). For social
class, it is believed that the higher social class a person is in, the better the health the person believes
to be in (Borrell et al. 2016:1883). Lastly, the happier a person is, the better health they perceive to
have (Pressman Cohen 2005:963). All in all, in order for me to determine which category scale is
better , I will determine that on two criteria: if the comparison between the two different category
scales has the same results as Smith and if any of the coefficients are substantially different from
either the four or five category scale.

The data I will use comes from the 2010 implementation of the GSS. The GSS is a project of the

Silicon has been used as a crucial component of restorative driven biomaterials in dentistry. However,
the use of silicon for periodontally driven therapies and dental implant treatment outcomes has not
been explored as extensively as there are certain unique properties of this metalloid that are
functionally plausible as an evident potential useful agent for periodontal and dental implant therapies.

In addition, the zirconia vs. titanium debate of implant material for maxillofacial and dental use may
soon be reformed as the silicon nitride implant receives more attention from the dental community.
This is due primarily to the substantial anti bacterial properties of silicon nitride (SI3N4) implants
when compared with titanium, zirconia, and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) implants. Anti infective
properties of silicon nitride implants have shown superior resistance to bacterial infection and biofilm

Auscultating Cough
The first step for a focused exam is a thorough history and physical that should include a detailed
timeline of a cough, provoking and alleviating events, sick contacts, travel and any other possible
sources for a cough (Goolsby Grubbs, 2014). The extent of the diagnostic and assessments will be
determined by how the patient presents with a cough and how disruptive the cough is for the patient.
Auscultating lung sounds can help find the location, type, and severity of the potential source of a

Access Controls Provide A Mechanism
Introduction
Access Controls provide a mechanism, which allows an administrator to ensure that appropriate
techniques are in place to control how users interact with an IT system. It provides an avenue where
restrictions can be developed, specifying what a user can do, the resources they can access, and the
functions they can execute on a system. It is aligned with the three main security principles;
confidentiality, integrity and availability. This alignment ensures that data and resources within an IT
system will remain confidential as required, the structure will remain intact and these objects will
remain available, so as not to diminish the functionality of the system. Access controls that are
incorporated into a security plan are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the difficulties in managing this access arises from the need to provide a variety of user s
access, each requiring a different type of access to the system. For the sake of security, the need to
manage this access should be defined by one or more of the following frameworks; Role Based
Access Control (RBAC), Discretionary Access Controls (DAC), Mandatory Access Control (MAC),
and Mandatory Access Control (MAC).
Statement of Purpose
The current state of the organization s access control management system is consistent with that of the
DAC model. A recent move to outsource certain business practices and continued organizational
growth has created an environment where increases in employee hiring s and employee turnover are
inevitable. An analysis of various methods of access control has been requested, so that we can better
understand how specific access control attacks are perpetrated and their origin. Information will be
collected and then analyzed in order to substantiate any recommended changes to the current access
control configurations. RBAC, DAC, and MAC will be compared and contrasted, in order to gain
insight, as to how each plays a role in reducing the risk to a system, along with identifying the
strengths and weaknesses of each. These results, along with a detailed recommendation will be
presented to executive management, in order to generate the necessary support for altering the current
program

Budget Planning And Control Management
Budget Planning and Control
According to our text a budget is a formal written statement of management s plans for a specified
future time period, expressed in financial terms (Wiley, 2013). An effective budget gives a company
command and control over financial resources. It helps a company to plan and achieve their strategic
and organizational goals. There are many reasons for a company to prepare and manage a budget, such
as assisting with performance evaluations and identifying possible constraints and limitations.
The budget is an important basis for evaluating performance. It can provide benchmarks against which
to judge success or failure in reaching goals and facilitates timely corrective measures (Bragg, 2010).
Budgeting forms the baseline for a company s future performance. Managers create the budget
anticipating financial conditions and market expectations for future periods. These managers calculate
revenues and expenses for the period being budgeted. When the period reflected in the budget arrives,
the managers compare actual expenses to the budget numbers and evaluate the department s
performance (Bragg, 2010).
Another advantage of budgets is that they can be instrumental in identifying constraints and
bottlenecks. The earlier example of the power plant well illustrated this point. Efficient operation of
the power plant was limited by the supply of

Revelations of Divine Love
Revelations of Divine Love is one of the most renowned Christian texts, mainly because it is known to
be the first published book in the English language that was written by a woman. It was written by
Julian of Norwich, a woman who reflects the nature of the medieval time period. She would come to
define a representation of the connection that people can have to divine beings in many variety of
forms by being a famous mystic. As she interprets her mystic experiences, she depicts Jesus Christ as
a working mother of the Trinity. Her belief is that Christ embodies the characteristics of motherhood
and this would enable a caring and nurturing foundation for the Christian faith. Christ as mother
extends to both to the physical humanity in bodily bleeding and suffering in order to give life and to
the spirituality of Christ whom delivers the soul; eternal and heavenly. This motherhood of Christ is a
vital part of Julian s theology and the idea of feminine love extends even to sin and salvation. But
most of all, she depicts Christ as feminine, not to distinguish him as being even more of a woman, but
to analyze a blurring of the genders, having Christ, and therefore God as beyond manmade categories.
In turn, this would come to positively impact women by having an idol that is not androgynous. This
follows the Trinity being a father, mother and lordship (Father, Son and Holy Ghost). Christianity is
one of the largest religious practices in the world and it has many different

James Horner was the composer for the movie Avatar, and was sadly passed away in June 22, 2015 in
a plane crash. He was born in August 14, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. Horner began the life of a
musician at an early age of five years of age, and continued his practices at the Royal College of
Music in London, England. He further continued his studies of music and received a bachelor s degree
at USC and both a master s degree and a Ph.D. at UCLA. Horner first breakthrough was when he

First piece of music being evaluated is the main credit. However, the main music piece for the Avatar
movie title is not at the beginning but rather at the end. In other words, the main title music is the end
credit of the film. The only possible reason that came to mind after watching the movie as to why the
main music of the movie is played at the credit along with showing the title of the film is to have the
audience leaving the theater remembering the film. To feel attached to the film in believing that the
planet Pandora is alive and real with its native people, Na vi, and their aboriginal music. It also gives
off the effect of leaving the theater happy and excited. In addition, it s a possible method of hinting
about a sequel for the film by ending the film with Jake waking up in his Na vi body along with an
intense drum based orchestral playing in the background in an aboriginal rhythm, which also adds in
the effect for the switch between bodies. The year the film was set to take place was in 2154 on the
planet of Pandora, but the music was not futuristic. It felt more in tune with nature like how the Na vi
people are to the land. It starts with the flute, with a soft and relaxing tune slowly building up. Then
followed up with a heavy drum, giving off a feel that is fitting for the large humanoid Na vi people as
if they were to play the drums along with some sort of chant that feels fitting for Na vi people.

Pupil Rights Amendment
In our new world of technology, substance abuse, mental health, and sexual practices are being
discussed in the news, television, radio, social media and even in school. Parents cannot control what
their children are learning outside their home as well as what is being taught in school. Hence, the law
provides the rights of parents and student that governs sensitive topics that are being conducted in
school. The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) (20 U S C $ 1232h; 34 CFR Part 98) was
enacted in 1978, and applies to student surveys, instructional materials or evaluations funded by the
federal government that deal with highly sensitive issues. Under the (PPRA), Parents have the right of

limitation of the study is that the results obtained during the spatial recall portion of the study were not

According to Bartollas and Miller (2011), Bullying is durable and an aggressive juvenile induces fear,
distress, anxiety, or harm in a weaker child through physical, verbal, and psychological intimidations
(p.50). Bullying is categorized by one or several individuals assertive on a vulnerable peer, primarily
to declare control or power. Bullying takes a strong emotional affect on its victims such as depression,

Christian Philosophy Book Review
From the introduction of this book, Francis Nigel Lee describes his purpose of this book to introduce
the history of philosophy from Christian understanding, so he calls this book prolegomena to the
history of philosophy . Contents of this book are quite interesting; differing from a common book
about the history of philosophy, Lee starts from God as the beginning of the history and philosophy. A
structure of this book is following a biblical understanding of human history. Also, Lee heavily deals
with the period of ancient Eastern and Greek philosophy. He divides a true philosophy, which is
Christian philosophy, and a false philosophy, which is the rest of philosophies other than the Christian
philosophy. Then, Lee explains that how the true philosophy succeeded from God to Hebrew
philosophy and Early Christian Philosophy; on the other hand, he compares how the rest of
philosophies are different from a perspective of true philosophy.
Only the true philosophy has a correct understanding of mankind, the world, and God; in other words,

legitimate that a thinking apart from God is not possible. When a philosophy starts from the word of
God and keeps the balance between God and man, the philosophy could be a true philosophy. Going
back to the question of the role of philosophy, then what is the role of the true philosophy? Concerning
literally meaning of philosophy, which is the love of wisdom, the true philosophy maybe the love of
the fear of God. I think that philosophy would show how man is weak and irrational without God as
the miserable consequence of sin. Showing this, the philosophy could praise and glorify God because
the man could be reasonable and be enjoy in Christ thanks to God s gracious love and

Peter Keating Quotes
Throughout the novel The Fountainhead, Peter Keating is in love with a minor character named
Catherine Halsey. Peter goes weeks without speaking to Catherine whom he calls Katie but she does
not seem to mind and instead waits for him. She does not value herself but tends to overlook the flaws
in others, only viewing their potential. Catherine brings out another side in Peter and it is obvious that
she is special to him. However, his selfless acts may cause him to betray his love for her. Ayn Rand
show s Keating s love for Catherine in many different ways within the novel. When Peter goes to visit
Catherine for the first time, they reminisce about the old times spent previously and he immediately
feels comfortable. Rand states, He had a peculiar sense of freedom her presence always lifted from
him a pressure he could not define he was alone he was himself. (58) Peter is able to be himself

Ayn believes Peter is selfless as he is dependent on the thoughts of others and their beliefs instead of

his mother and others might think he continues to hide their relationship. Rand includes, We won t tell

Peter s betrayal to himself will keep him from obtaining happiness and following the objectivism
theory. Catherine signifies reality, absolute fact and the perfect person for Keating yet he is willing to

Ethos Pathos And Logos Analysis
Before the building of architectural achievements such as the Roman Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, and
the Windsor Castle, a Greek philosopher named Aristotle had created the three pillars of persuasive
speech over 2,000 years ago. These three pillars are known as ethos, logos, and pathos. The
architectural feats mentioned above had been created to last and withstand demolition from external
forces such as the weather, aging, and cracking/erosion. Just like these buildings are structured, an
argument needs to be well put together so it cannot be torn apart. This resulted in the creation of the
three pillars. In the reading of Monstrous Beginnings, the author, W. Scott Poole, uses Aristotle s three
pillars attempting to convince the reader that among ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pathos involves getting an emotional response from the reader, which is something that Poole
struggles to do in this writing. Although it is truly unfortunate how certain groups of people were
treated back then, Poole struggles to make you feel any sympathy for how the minorities were treated.
He does not include many stories that invoke feelings of anger towards the treatment of the natives or
pity or sorrow towards them. Another part that made his writing hard to read or feel any emotion over
were his long winded sentences. Many sentences went on longer than they should have, or could have
been cut in half to make shorter sentences so the material would become easier to read. Poole s writing
definitely leaned more toward the educational side than the emotional side as it seemed to read more
like a textbook than his own thoughts. However, there are a few examples in his writing that if he
made an effort, he could establish pathos much better. For example, Francisco de Chicora could have
made for a great story to establish pathos as he was a native who was kidnapped by Spanish explorers
and was forced into a different religion but was able to escape from them (179). However, the reader
learns the bulk of that information in the footnotes rather than by reading an emotional story that
would help establish the pathos in his writing. Poole is not able to evoke much, if any,

Sacco And Vanzetti Analysis
Sometimes words cannot exactly explain what we want to convey, so we need a visual to support it. A
similar thing was observed in the article of Alan M. Dershowitz, he cleverly makes use of Ben Shah s
painting in the article to grab the attention of folks. The author writes about a murder case of a
paymaster and a guard of the South Braintree by Sacco and Vanzetti, both were Italian immigrant
anarchists. Surprisingly, the truth was not revealed that whether Sacco and Vanzetti were the killers
and this case is still unsolved. I agree with the author that the trials could not get to the fair results. I
believe that the painting is an ironic symbol of the justice. It silently expresses a lot what the text can

clear from this line that the two sentenced people were innocent and were the victims of the power of
high class gentlemen. Former are stated as martyrs because they were not the murderers instead they

One Laptop Per Child Analysis
Technology as we know it now and how we knew it yesteryear is a symbolic metaphor for racial
tensions and the way it is idealized in time and space, because it ultimately shapes the social
construction of race (67). The chapter challenges the linear timeframe in which people typically
idealize history, believing that modern day society and all it has created is good, better than the past,
and ultimately, progressive. This makes technology and the nostalgia of in need others to be saved

Other areas like experiential access should also be encouraged if technology itself is being imposed on
these children, so they can have the opportunity to shape technology and its direction in their own
ways. The organization, their self, may be less aware of critical access, and less able to recognize the
problems, rather than just the benefits of technology, along with ways to resist or critically analyze it,
than those who are technologically out of sync. This may be because, particularly, westerners, have a
very narrow minded and biased idea of technology and that it is overall good, however those who do
not utilize it as much as we do, may have better hindsight and clearer visions of its truths. Overall,
technology is related to tension between global capitalism and philanthropy in the developing world,
which may be why some choose to opt out of it rather than be excluded from its use, and the need to

  • 3. Antiquities Act The first major piece of legislation that applied to the protection of indigenous remains and cultural materials came with the passage of the Antiquities Act of 1906. The act had major implications for the relationship between anthropology and Native Americans. The intent of the Antiquities Act was to protect the cultural resources of the United States by creating a permitting process for archaeological excavations and establish punishments for looting. Unfortunately, the act furthered the notion that anthropologists held authority over indigenous material culture (Daehnke 2011). Instead of protecting artifacts for indigenous parties, the act legislated the appropriation of culture by anthropologists. Native American remains essentially became ... • 4. Violence In Things Fall Apart Essay Violence in Things Fall Apart In great literature, no scene of violence exists for its own sake. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe uses violence as a means to portray the struggles between change and tradition. The scene that captures this struggle the best is the murder of Ikemefuna. Within in the scene the reader is both exposed to the traditions of Umuofia and the Ibo culture as well as, the struggle and moral hardships they place on the people of the tribe. The killing of Ikemefuna exemplifies the struggle between tradition and change that occurs throughout the entirety of the novel. Ikemefuna was brought to Umuofia as payment for the killing of a young women from the tribe. The clan leaders decided that Ikemefuna would live with Okonkwo at his compound. While staying at the compound Ikemefuna formed a close bond with Okonkwo s oldest son, Nwoye (Achebe 34). The two of them became inseparable and Nwoye began to look up and admire Ikemefuna. Okonkwo appreciated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Okonkwo had grown to love Ikemefuna, but in the end he could not choose to be weak. Ibo tradition states that men are warriors and that there are certain prices to be paid. Tradition did not account for Okonkwo s love. Love was a weakness for men, they were meant to be stoic and strong. Throughout the murder of Ikemefuna Okonkwo has an inner struggle between choosing to breakaway from what is expected of him and save the boy or what is the tradition of the Ibo culture (61). He chooses the latter and slices Ikemefuna down with his machete. The violence of the scene is then contrasted by the morose tone of the portion of the novel that immediately follows. Okonkwo does not speak and barely eats for the next few days (63). He mourns the boy in secret. Too afraid to show feelings, Okonkwo hides away from the world. The killing of Ikemefuna clearly portrays the struggle between tradition and change in Things Fall ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though water carries so many different pathogens, due to fecal contamination, it is impossible and expensive to try and ensure ever type of water is free of pathogens. In this experiment, we verified three different samples of water and determined the amount of fecal contamination in each. The three samples of water included: Little John Lake, Leaf River, and a roadside lake. It was predicted that all three water samples would be affected by some coliforms, but that the water sample, Little John Lake would contain the most coliforms, which contained fecal contamination. • 6. 1939- 1945 Were Possibly The Worst Years In American History. 1939 1945 were possibly the worst years in American history. During this time, World War II was occurring. Adolf Hitler was in complete control. He even went outside the battle grounds to wreck havoc. He went to Babi Yar...the last place where Jews could hide. Babi Yar is located in Kiev, Ukraine. During World War II, a massacre took place in the small town, killing more than 1,000 Jews. The Nazis attacked them on September 29, 1943. Afterwards, the war continued to rage, only to end in 1945. During World War II, Adolf Hitler rose to fame as the harsh dictator of Germany. Hitler would then form his own army, then known as the Nazis. During the massacre, over 1,000 Jews, Soviet Officials, and Russian prisoners were killed. They were executed at the Babi Yar ravine. ( The Einsatgruppen) The total count of people murdered at Babi Yar was 34,000. The total count of Jews murdered in World war II was 6 million. This massacre occurred towards the end of the war. Shortly after the massacre, the United States would jump in to save the day! They would help the Allies defeat the Nazis and their army. Hitler would still go on to terrify the rest of Europe after Babi Yar. The aftermath of Babi Yar is not a great one. It took over 6 years to rebuild Babi Yar and everything that was destroyed at Babi Yar. Many shelters, homes, buildings, and personal stations were destroyed during the massacre. The Nazis showed no mercy. (Hjelnguard, Kim) After the massacre, the Nazis tried to hide evidence that anything ever happened by covering the dead bodies with nothing but dirt and rock. The Nazis were convicted of what they tried to escape with, and some were caught. They not only tired to hide the bodies with dirt and rock, but they even burned them! When the remains were given to families, they were probably holding some stranger that they never even met, instead of their loved ones. • 7. Public Relations Assistant Experience Paper The aim of this paper is to discuss and elaborate on the experience, insights, value, and practical training gained throughout my internship as a Public Relations Assistant at Louisiana Delta Community College with the Director of Public Relations Mrs. Darian Atkins. As the director, she develops and executes strategies that create and uphold a positive public image for the college and Chancellor Dennis Epps by working and forming relationships with various members of the media, government, and public. As the assistant, I acted as the support for Mrs. Atkins by researching to construct stories and press releases, completing administrative tasks, and photographing events. In addition, Mrs. Atkins enlightened me that with any friction, you must have a plan to maintain the company s status. For example, she made a chart on the steps to take to ensure that the college s image did not diminish and that including faculty and staff is critical. Although confidentiality is good, you cannot misinform the media because that could lead to a disaster. Second Point: Adobe Creative Suite My first attempt with Adobe Creative Suite was during my practicum. Ms. Castillo showed me a few tasks in Photoshop, but entering the intern, I was introduced to more such as InDesign and Illustrator. Mrs. Atkins ordered me to use only Adobe because it was a great technical skill to have and most businesses use it today. Before using it on my own, she had me examining her tool with the program to get better knowledge of it. One day after an event, we went to edit photos in Photoshop to post them on Facebook. During editing, she explained when printing an image, you must save it in CMYK to make the image s colors stay true. CMYK refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black). However, if you are posting it for social media purpose, it is best to save in RGB. The RGB color model is an additive color model in which red, green and blue light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. Not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Character Analysis OfThe Mill On The Floss The sharp and unruly main character of The Mill on the Floss is Maggie Tulliver. She is a gell gone nine, at the outset of the story, the daughter of the miller Mr. Tulliver, and lives with her family on the banks of the Floss (Eliot 8, 9, 12). When Mr. and Mrs. Tulliver begin discussing the issue of Tom s education in their first conversation of the story, they segue into discussion of his sister. While Mrs. Tulliver derides Maggie for being unsensible, brown skinned, and altogether unlike her side of the family, Mr. Tulliver defends her, saying she s a straight, black eyed wench as anybody need wish to see. I don t know i what she s behind other folks s children; and she can read almost as well as the parson, (Eliot 12). Maggie s parents further describe her physiognomy for the reader later in this conversation. From Mrs. Tulliver s perspective, her daughter s hair exemplifies the issue with Maggie s character. But her hair won t curl all I can do with it... an there s her cousin Lucy s got a row o curls round her head, an not a hair out o place, Mrs. Tulliver frets (Eliot 12, 13). Maggie s mother feels that her daughter is a comical mistake, with her dark, heavy locks, air of a small Shetland pony, and likeness to a Bedlam creature, (Eliot 12, 13). Because of this dissatisfaction, Mrs. Tulliver is forever attempting to make her daughter more similar to herself and to other folks s respectable, curly haired children. Later in the story, Maggie s character is further established by juxtaposition to her brother Tom. Tom Tulliver differs from Maggie not only in appearance, but also in garnering motherly affection: Mrs. Tulliver continually speaks of him with great approbation and pride, greeting him as my sweet lad! on his return from school (Eliot 30). In addition to this contrast in affection, a contrast in physical character is evident between the siblings. Tom is described as a lad with light brown hair, cheeks of cream and roses, full lips, indeterminate nose and eyebrows... the generic character to boyhood, while Maggie is moulded and colored with the most decided intention, a dark eyed, demonstrative, rebellious girl, though it is noted that these physical appearances ... The effectiveness of ASOs as treatments has already been seen in other disease, such as Vitravene (or Fomivirsen), which was the first ASO made publicly available, and is used to treat cytomegalovirus retinitis, as well as Isis 3521 which when given to lung cancer patients in addition to combination chemotherapy has been seen to raise life expectancy by as much as 50%[2]. From these past successes, many have hypothesised that they might make an effective treatment for Huntington s disease (HD) as well, which currently we are only able to treat the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the effectiveness of the application of antisense oligonucleotides in other disease of a similar pathology, it stands to reason that ASOs should be a viable therapeutic for treating Huntington s disease. Issues with the use of ASOs as therapeutics While a promising target, the use of antisense oligonucleotides in treating Huntington s disease has not been without its issues. The first issue that using ASOs in the treatment of HD that we face is the lack of stability found in ASOs in their normal state. Without modification, most ASOs are broken down immediately upon entrance into the host body by intracellular endo and exonucleases. This is a huge fault in therapeutics, as if the ASO is broken down it will be unable to produce its desired effects, but also as one of the by products created by its degradation dNMP2 mononucleotides is cytotoxic and so could cause further potential harm to the patient [2]. This problem has been resolved in many cases through modifications to the structure of the ASOs. One such modification is it s methylation to form a methylphosphonate backbone, which has a far superior stability to the original ASO, but has itself faced issues due to the reduction in charge that occurs after methylation, which reduces the ASOs stability in the body. Another, far more widely used modification in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. John Millington Synge s Romantic Vision of the Aran... John Millington Synge s Romantic Vision of the Aran Islands When John Millington Synge made his way to the western most islands of Ireland he was in search of inspiration for his writing. The fruit of his journey was the fame winning book entitled The Aran Islands . Synge had many purposes for this book, but one of the most compelling was his desire to write an anthropologically geared account of the people and lifestyle of what many believed to be the last bastion of true Irishness. However, Synge s anthropological work could not avoid the strong Romantic tendencies that influenced his writing. In my opinion it is Synge s Romanticism that makes his account more believable. ... He states: I was wandering out along the one good roadway of the island, looking over low walls on either side into small flat fields of naked rock. I have seen nothing so desolate. Grey floods of water were sweeping everywhere upon the limestone, making at times a wild torrent of the road... Whenever the cloud lifted I could see the edge of the sea below me on the right, and the naked ridge of the island above me on the other side... (Synge 2) The most vivid aspect of this passage is the diction, which Synge uses to describe the island s environment. More than once Synge uses the word naked to refer to the rock. He also builds further that image by calling the land desolate and wild . Synge also makes an important play of the colors of the Aran Islands. He uses the images of grey and black quite often throughout the book. At one point he states that everywhere he turns he finds, ...the same grey obsession twining and wreathing itself among the narrow fields... (Synge 46). By describing the island thus he helps the reader build the image of the Aran Islands as something quite distinct from the lushness of the Irish mainland. During the Industrial Revolution, the factory machines decreased the number of workers needed to perform certain tasks. For education, it is believed that the more educated a person is, the better the health respondents report (Borgonovi and Pokropek 2016:11). For social class, it is believed that the higher social class a person is in, the better the health the person believes to be in (Borrell et al. 2016:1883). • 21. Budget Planning And Control Management Budget Planning and Control According to our text a budget is a formal written statement of management s plans for a specified future time period, expressed in financial terms (Wiley, 2013). An effective budget gives a company command and control over financial resources. It helps a company to plan and achieve their strategic and organizational goals. There are many reasons for a company to prepare and manage a budget, such as assisting with performance evaluations and identifying possible constraints and limitations. The budget is an important basis for evaluating performance. It can provide benchmarks against which to judge success or failure in reaching goals and facilitates timely corrective measures (Bragg, 2010). Budgeting forms the baseline for a company s future performance. Managers create the budget anticipating financial conditions and market expectations for future periods. These managers calculate revenues and expenses for the period being budgeted. When the period reflected in the budget arrives, the managers compare actual expenses to the budget numbers and evaluate the department s performance (Bragg, 2010). Another advantage of budgets is that they can be instrumental in identifying constraints and bottlenecks. The earlier example of the power plant well illustrated this point. Revelations of Divine Love Revelations of Divine Love is one of the most renowned Christian texts, mainly because it is known to be the first published book in the English language that was written by a woman. It was written by Julian of Norwich, a woman who reflects the nature of the medieval time period. She would come to define a representation of the connection that people can have to divine beings in many variety of forms by being a famous mystic. As she interprets her mystic experiences, she depicts Jesus Christ as a working mother of the Trinity. Her belief is that Christ embodies the characteristics of motherhood and this would enable a caring and nurturing foundation for the Christian faith. Christ as mother extends to both to the physical humanity in bodily bleeding and suffering in order to give life and to the spirituality of Christ whom delivers the soul; eternal and heavenly. This motherhood of Christ is a vital part of Julian s theology and the idea of feminine love extends even to sin and salvation. But most of all, she depicts Christ as feminine, not to distinguish him as being even more of a woman, but to analyze a blurring of the genders, having Christ, and therefore God as beyond manmade categories. In turn, this would come to positively impact women by having an idol that is not androgynous. This follows the Trinity being a father, mother and lordship (Father, Son and Holy Ghost). • 28. Long Term Memory Each item on the quiz corresponded to an individual slide that was presented, but all the questions on the quiz were in random order. This was done to measure how much information was retained by the subjects short term memory. One week later, the exact same quiz was administered again to the same sample of students. This time, however, the test looked to see how much information students recalled in terms of long term memory. Since the researchers defined remembrance as an increase in retention test performance of one item or more from the short term to long term retention test (Farley and Grant, 1976, p. 149), they found that people did recall more information and forgot less if they were exposed to the colorful slides. • 29. Christian Philosophy Book Review From the introduction of this book, Francis Nigel Lee describes his purpose of this book to introduce the history of philosophy from Christian understanding, so he calls this book prolegomena to the history of philosophy . Contents of this book are quite interesting; differing from a common book about the history of philosophy, Lee starts from God as the beginning of the history and philosophy. A structure of this book is following a biblical understanding of human history. Also, Lee heavily deals with the period of ancient Eastern and Greek philosophy. He divides a true philosophy, which is Christian philosophy, and a false philosophy, which is the rest of philosophies other than the Christian philosophy. Then, Lee explains that how the true philosophy succeeded from God to Hebrew philosophy and Early Christian Philosophy; on the other hand, he compares how the rest of philosophies are different from a perspective of true philosophy. Only the true philosophy has a correct understanding of mankind, the world, and God; in other words, the philosophical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This question may be differently answered by how I define the philosophy, but it would be historically legitimate that a thinking apart from God is not possible. When a philosophy starts from the word of God and keeps the balance between God and man, the philosophy could be a true philosophy. Going back to the question of the role of philosophy, then what is the role of the true philosophy? Concerning literally meaning of philosophy, which is the love of wisdom, the true philosophy maybe the love of the fear of God. I think that philosophy would show how man is weak and irrational without God as the miserable consequence of sin. Showing this, the philosophy could praise and glorify God because the man could be reasonable and be enjoy in Christ thanks to God s gracious love and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Pyramid Of Giza Imagine the radiating heat of the bright Egyptian sun, mercilessly projecting its rays upon your back. Your bones ache for rest, your body thirst for water and your feet are callused from the blistering, Giza sand beneath you. Gazing from right to left are what seems like thousands of men, working around you in an effort to complete the impossible task that lays before them. For centuries and centuries, the Great Pyramid of Giza has withstood the test of time, and rises to be the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Formed from the ground up, with incredible precision, unwavering determination and advanced engineering, the Egyptians managed to construct a monument that would last nearly 5,000 years after its completion. If a block of stone was too jagged or unevenly proportioned, it would be chiseled down until not even the thinnest piece of paper could fit between the crack of two stones side by side. As far as how the stones were set, not much information is given. Some scientist believe that several ramps where used towards the end of the project in order to transport the blocks from the ground to the top part of the pyramid. Evidence reveals that levers where use to help ease the weight of a 2 ton block and what appears to be an incredibly early form of a pulley may have also been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The objectivism theory believes a man must live by his own judgement and form his own values without betraying himself which leads to the personal significance of his relationship with Catherine. • 32. Ethos Pathos And Logos Analysis Before the building of architectural achievements such as the Roman Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, and the Windsor Castle, a Greek philosopher named Aristotle had created the three pillars of persuasive speech over 2,000 years ago. These three pillars are known as ethos, logos, and pathos. The architectural feats mentioned above had been created to last and withstand demolition from external forces such as the weather, aging, and cracking/erosion. Just like these buildings are structured, an argument needs to be well put together so it cannot be torn apart. This resulted in the creation of the three pillars. In the reading of Monstrous Beginnings, the author, W. Scott Poole, uses Aristotle s three pillars attempting to convince the reader that among ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pathos involves getting an emotional response from the reader, which is something that Poole struggles to do in this writing. Although it is truly unfortunate how certain groups of people were treated back then, Poole struggles to make you feel any sympathy for how the minorities were treated. He does not include many stories that invoke feelings of anger towards the treatment of the natives or pity or sorrow towards them. Another part that made his writing hard to read or feel any emotion over were his long winded sentences. Many sentences went on longer than they should have, or could have been cut in half to make shorter sentences so the material would become easier to read. Poole s writing definitely leaned more toward the educational side than the emotional side as it seemed to read more like a textbook than his own thoughts. However, there are a few examples in his writing that if he made an effort, he could establish pathos much better. For example, Francisco de Chicora could have made for a great story to establish pathos as he was a native who was kidnapped by Spanish explorers and was forced into a different religion but was able to escape from them (179). However, the reader learns the bulk of that information in the footnotes rather than by reading an emotional story that would help establish the pathos in his writing. Poole is not able to evoke much, if any, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Sacco And Vanzetti Analysis Sometimes words cannot exactly explain what we want to convey, so we need a visual to support it. A similar thing was observed in the article of Alan M. Dershowitz, he cleverly makes use of Ben Shah s painting in the article to grab the attention of folks. The author writes about a murder case of a paymaster and a guard of the South Braintree by Sacco and Vanzetti, both were Italian immigrant anarchists. Surprisingly, the truth was not revealed that whether Sacco and Vanzetti were the killers and this case is still unsolved. I agree with the author that the trials could not get to the fair results. I believe that the painting is an ironic symbol of the justice. It silently expresses a lot what the text can t. I think the painting adds words ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 34. One Laptop Per Child Analysis Technology as we know it now and how we knew it yesteryear is a symbolic metaphor for racial tensions and the way it is idealized in time and space, because it ultimately shapes the social construction of race (67). The chapter challenges the linear timeframe in which people typically idealize history, believing that modern day society and all it has created is good, better than the past, and ultimately, progressive. This makes technology and the nostalgia of in need others to be saved (62) mythical and ethnocentric because it assumes and stereotypes all other non technological countries as struggling, unhappy, and envious of the west s technological savviness. This may be because, particularly, westerners, have a very narrow minded and biased idea of technology and that it is overall good, however those who do not utilize it as much as we do, may have better hindsight and clearer visions of its truths.
