The, Sharing The Secrets Of The Universe
Have you ever walked alongside the Gods, sharing the secrets of the universe? A whirlwind of truth
permeates and resonates with every fiber of your being, the ultimate osmosis of what is, was, and will
be. Gusts of wind throw themselves at you with the force of a giant s kick, tearing away all that isn t
held down. Hats. Scarves. Fear. Pain. Nothing is safe from its icy grip. It s like an out of body
experience that you never want to end a dissociative spell that makes you feel at one with the heavens.
There is something poetic about standing at the edge of a cliff, peering over the rocks and reeds at the
choppy water below, a void so blue that you risk losing your very soul inside of it. These are the Cliffs
of Moher, a natural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why would one choose to leave this place? The wind pauses for a moment and I hear a melody in the
brief silence. Can the others hear this, I wonder? Faces morph into shadowed blurs as they fight on.
Soon the wind picks up once more; the question left unanswered. It appears to be a novelty for some,
standing where the Gods touch the earth, pausing not to feel the air but instead to take a selfie. In a
way, I understand wanting to record the moment, however, why would one let that be their driving
purpose? At this most sublime of locations, I would hope that reverence would consume the travelers.
After all, it has consumed me.
Soon afterwards a speck of water hit my glasses and I return my gaze to the sea. Waves rush upon the
face of the cliffs hundreds of feet below, caught in the same gusts that have captured my spirit.
Flowing as I flow, froth and foam rising from the depths, spilling over like the tears on my cheeks. I
finally understand Icarus, who loved the sun so much that he let it end his life. Looking at the light
breaking through the clouds, I feel that same longing. Is this how the world was before Man took its
first breath? Do those ethereal beings remain here because it reminds them of home? If so, it is
something we have in common. I do not wish to leave; though I must.
. There is a limit to what a heart can hold; if I stay any longer I may never go, and yet I remain uneasy

Letter To Greg Gallegos
Your Honor,
I am writing this letter on behalf of a good friend Greg Gallegos. I met Greg through his son and my
close friend Damian Gallegos. Almost immediately after meeting Greg he accepted me as if I was
family and I know that almost all of Greg s friends could agree. I quickly learned that Greg was a
family orientated person. He was always involved and very supportive of his children and
grandchildren. Greg is also a person I could always rely on. Whether it was picking me up when I was
stranded in the middle of the night when my motorcycle broke down, helping me get a job after I
returned from basic training or always welcoming and including me in whatever he had going on. I
honestly can t think of a time that he has ever let me down

The Pros And Cons Of Refugees
Nowadays, with the same or worst, experiences that the Returnees, we have the Refugees from all
over the world. Refugees are forced to leave their lives, their country in order to find safety, people
being persecuted or in the middle of a war, have to seek protection in international law, and must not
jeopardize their safety or their freedom. (UNHCR: the UN Refugee Agency, 2006)
Refugees is a reality from our world. Many suffered from economic inequality and the conflicts in
their own country and have two make a decision between living in fear and in a struggle at their own
home or immigrate to a country where they might regain their hope to start a new life. (Turton and
Gonçaléz, 2003) The increase of refugees globally it is concerning the educational systems in our
societies. There are 59,5 million people who were obligated to live their countries because of
persecutions, wars, or violation of the human rights. (Bhu et al, 2012) (UHCR: the UN Refugee
Agency, 2016)
The UN 1951 convention stated that refugees are vulnerable due to the fact that the confronted
situation was not chosen, it is a mandatory choice in order to save their lives. (Catarci, Gomes and
Siqueira, 2017)
The UN convention defines refugees as individual who:
Owing to a well founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality,
membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his (her)
nationality, and is unable to, or owing to such fear, is

Behavior Observation
Introduction
At my job, I worked with two students named John and Jimmy. John and Jimmy are two students at
our school with behavior problems. This week, I focused on observing their behavior in settings to
work on tracking the correct accuracy, reliably, and validity (Cooper, J. O., Heron, T. E., Heward, W.
L. 2007). However, before I could began tracking data I had to come up with two problem behaviors.
The problem behaviors I came up with were Aggression and Non Compliance. In order, to track these
behaviors, I focused on duration and frequency. I will examine these behaviors using a ABC data
sheet.
Student 1
The first student I observed was a 6th grader. This student suffers from emotional disability. He often
engages in physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conclusion
To this end, as I finished up working with student 1 and student 2. I learn how to be more efficient
while tracking data. I learned the importance of observing behavior in a more accurate, reliable and
valid way. It is vital to track the data accurately because it will allow staff to determine if a student is
making progress or regressing with that target behavior (Cooper, Heron Heward (2007) During my
data collection of these problem behaviors, I made sure i put in my undivided attention to make sure it
was as reliable and accurate as possible

Agnés Varda s Women
Agnès Varda made several films during the New Wave that were pertinent to women. She herself is in
an atypical profession in the male dominated industry of film. She continues to challenge male
dominated filmmaking and creates films and characters that also challenge the traditional role of
women. Any preconceived notions of what a woman should be are nowhere to be seen in Varda s
films. Feminism is manifested in many of Varda s films. She shows the journey of different women in
a male dominated society. Cléo in Cléo from 5 to 7 goes through her journey trapped by the male
gaze, imprisoned. However, Mona in Vagabond chooses to be free from it, the camera and its gaze
does not bind her. These films seem to be strongly interested in the ... Show more content on

Varda artfully uses the long take to convey Cléo s fear. Varda allows this sadness to occur naturally out
of what the viewer thought would be a cheerful rehearsal session. This pivotal moment is when Cléo
is going to change her position and become the one who gazes. To achieve this she has to give up all
the superficiality and physical nuances of her every day life as Cléo, the singer. She proceeds to go
behind a curtain, takes off her wig, and puts on a plain back dress. She strips herself of Cléo and
becomes Florence. Her show world , her life as Cléo alienates her, makes her a spectacle for people to
gaze at. But by stripping herself of this image, she starts to master her ability to have her own gaze.
Cléo sheds her false image in order to actively observe her surroundings. This leads to her
spontaneous friendship with Antoine later on. With her new image, Cléo eventually begins to
challenge her gaze with the gaze of all of the others. When walking down the street, Cléo is not
alienated anymore; she is just another person in the crowd on the busy streets of Paris. In the café
scene, it is not mirrors that are hanging on the walls anymore but paintings. In this scene, Cléo looks
completely lost because she doesn t have to comfort of looking at her own face in a mirror. She turns
on one of her songs on the jukebox and waits to be recognized, waits to attract the gaze of the people

The Factors Of Christianity And Christianity In The Roman...
Christianity did not spread very quickly initially, but in the 2nd century it spread like a wildfire. The
spread of the religion was rapid and was due to many factors. Christianity spread due to its
universality, its familiarity to the Roman people, and the fact that it gave people hope. Christianity
gave something to the people of the Roman Empire that they had never experienced before. Although
Jesus was dead, his teachings were still very much alive and thriving within his followers. This is
evident in Christianity s expansion throughout the Roman Empire.
Christianity was a religion for everyone, where no one was excluded. Throughout the Roman Empire,
many mystery cults existed. Unlike Christianity, many of these religions were exclusive to only men
or women, keeping some people out while including the others. Mithraism was one that was only open
to men, while the cult of Isis was a religion exclusive to women. Christianity was completely
inclusive. It was for the rich, the poor, the slaves, the men, and the women. A peasant had just as much
place in Christianity as an aristocrat. Spiritual equality was a reality in Christianity. It had previously
been believed that only Jewish people could join Christianity, but Paul of Tarsus changed that by
sharing his beliefs. Paul of Tarsus, also called the second founder of Christianity, believed that gentiles
should be given the opportunity to be a part of Christianity too. In the Roman Empire there were not
many choices of

My Love For Reading
At this point in my life, reading would definitely not make a list of my favorite things to do, but this
wasn t always the case. Some of my youngest memories involve reading, and many of these memories
are enjoyable. Every night before bed my mom would read to me, and I remember begging to read just
one more before she tucked me in almost every night. This is when my love for reading sparked.
Throughout grade school, I continued to read frequently and never found it to be a chore; however,
once middle school hit I no longer included reading as a past time or found it pleasurable. Looking
back now I realize this was when English class included more forced literature, and school consisted
of reading extensive pages in textbooks. Reading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more I was being forced to read, the less time I spent reading for enjoyment, until eventually I no
longer spent any of my free time with a novel in hand. Reading became a chore; it became boring.
Sometimes the simple act of being forced to do something makes you despise it. As a child, I enjoyed
several different genres of novels and many different topics intrigued me, so it wasn t necessarily what
I was reading that disinterested me. One required novel I remember reading was The Outsiders in
seventh grade. This was a type of book I feel I would normally enjoy because of the mystery and
action; however, I couldn t bring myself to truly become engaged in this novel. Reason being it was a
forced act, with multiple worksheets and homework to accompany the reading. Fast forward to high
school when I m reading my required lengths in an anatomy and physiology textbook. Science has
always been an interest of mine; in fact, I m now majoring in Human Physiology. Yet reading this text
wasn t something I enjoyed. Again, because it felt forced; it was not something I was doing simply out
of interest. This is how I continue to feel about most of the reading I do today as a college student.
Although reading literature when being forced and for educational purposes has withered my once
love of reading, I can still vividly remember where my love of reading began. My comfy living room
couch holds my

Russian Orthodoxy Anthropology
Historical and Contemporary Anthropology of Russian Orthodoxy Religion can contribute a vast array
of aspects to a culture including politics and many other ideals. Many people think that just because
Orthodoxy is under the Christian umbrella and the members of this religion meet in a church that it is
the same as other forms of Christianity. One may even hypothesize that is just like the Catholic
Church . This accusation is wrong and many aspects of Russia and the former USSR regions justify
this disposition. Despite the conflicting views and accusations about the Russian Orthodox Church,
there is a staggering Anthropological context. In order to make sense of the social and cultural impact
of Russian Orthodoxy, it is important to know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Growing up with a Catholic background I knew that taking in a drink would probably be rude. I also
showed up on time, which meant nothing because the younger generation showed up more than half
way through the service. One thing I regretted was bringing my notebook. I myself misjudged Eulogy
and thought it would be like a Catholic or Non denominational Christian service with seats and a place
to write. Men and women stood on separate sides of the room which was an obvious aspect of the
church. Some things were less obvious though, like how you come into the room and not turning your
back to the Saints. Participant observation is best described as a fun yet anxiety filled method of
research. Participant research can be fun and effective, but it can turn into a disrespectful situation in a

Essay Analysis of Pinocchio and Toy Story
Analysis of Pinocchio and Toy Story
Recently I have been watching two Disney films on completely different sides of the Disney timeline.
Pinocchio was made in 1940 using cell animation with the story taken from an existing folk tale. Toy
Story was made in 1995 and it was the first computer generated feature film. This created a whole new
genre of computer animated films such as Finding Nemo and the recent Incredibles . Both of these
films use a toy as the main character and as always they both fit into the conventions of any Disney
film.
The narrative structure of both films is in some way similar as both of the main characters are
separated from home and the films involve them trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The good characters in Pinocchio are very stereotypical such as Gepetto. He is a typical homely
grandfather figure. Jiminy Cricket adds guidance and humour to the film and finally the Blue Fairy is
added for beauty with bright ora. On the other hand Sid s toys in Toy Story are very unattractive, and
at first we are led to believe they are evil, but in fact they save Woody and Buzz. This shows that you
should never judge on appearance. As we have good characters there are also evil characters. They are
usually portrayed in very stereotypical ways such as an evil laugh or an ugly exterior. Some examples
of this is Stromboli the circus owner in Pinocchio who is large and intimidating. His eyes are
frightening and he is most definitely greedy. Honest John is also evil; he is a sly and cunning fox with
a pun on his name. In Toy Story the only bad character is Sid. He is horrible, ugly (a brace and an evil
laugh) and even he destroys toys. But as in every Disney film the good will eventually overcome the
evil.
Another Disney convention is that there are always some Disney Values in each picture. In Pinocchio ,
Toy Story and even Finding Nemo one of the morals is that there is no place like home. The Toy Story
morals are Not to be jealous and Be happy with what

Notes On Leadership And Management
Leadership versus Management
1. Define Management.
Management is the organizational process that includes strategic planning, setting; objectives,
managing resources, deploying the human and financial assets needed to achieve objectives, and
measuring results. Management also includes recording and storing facts and information for later use
or for others within the organization.
Management is the process of reaching organizational goals by working with and through people and
other organizational resources.
There are three main characteristics that management focus on: It is a process or series of continuing
and related activities, involving and concentrating on reaching organizational goals, and reaching the
goals by working with and through people and other organizational resources.
2. Define Leadership. Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence
and guide followers or other members of an organization. Leadership involves making sound (and
sometimes difficult) decisions, creating and articulating a clear vision, establishing achievable goals
and providing followers with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve these goals. Leadership is
the ability of a company s management to make sound decisions and inspire others to perform well.
Effective leaders are able to set and achieve challenging goals, to take swift and decisive action even
in difficult situations, to outperform their competition, to take calculated risks and to

Exploitation And Societal Reorganization Of Karl Marx And...

Exploitation and Societal Reorganization
Karl Marx and Mary Wollstonecraft are both philosophers who have observed the relationships
between ruling and ruled classes of people. In Marx s text Capital he discusses how there must exist a
bourgeois class that exploits a class of proletarians in order for capitalism to exist. Mary
Wollstonecraft in her work A Vindication of the Rights of Woman argues that a patriarchal society in
which women are forced to depend on men for every aspect of their lives is exploitation and
detrimental to everyone involved. A concept that is shared between these two works is that a society
that depends on the domination and exploitation of a class will naturally reorganize into a society that
has a balance between classes.
The exploitation of workers by capitalists is necessary for a capitalist society to exist properly. When
viewing the relations between members of a capitalist society as individuals, it can seem that
capitalism is based on freedom and equality. The proletariat class, or those who do not own any means
of production, sell their labor power to the bourgeoisie, or capitalists. The proletariats are free to sell
their labor power to whichever industry they choose, and will be compensated fairly for their work in
the form of wages. This concept of labor power is an integral part of Marx s argument about
capitalism. He explains that labor power is the mental and

If I Were A Triffid Analysis
Literature Circle
If I was a Triffid, I would do many things that the Triffids did not do in the pages we read. The things I
would do if I was a Triffid is kill all the humans. I would also gather up other Triffids and form a large
group with other Triffids and I would also invade all the buildings in the area. To start, if I was a
Triffid, I would kill all the humans in the world.
If I was a Triffid, I would try to kill as much as humans as I possibly could in order to stay alive. The
reason I would try to kill all the Triffids is because humans can make and have very deadly weapons
such as shotguns, nuclear bombs, machine guns, missiles and more. So if I tried to kill all the humans
,blind and not blind, there would be a result of no dangerous threat to Triffids and I, so we could roam
around freely. Also, because Triffids are carnivorous and I am a Triffid, I could only survive by eating
meat and flesh, and there is about seven billion humans so humans could be a superior source of food.
The last reason I would kill all the humans because if all the humans were gone, Triffids could be the
leaders of the land and rule everything, so Triffids would be respected by other creatures. ... Show

The reason I would do that is so the humans would not have anything to collect from the store and
would eventually die which would be easier than killing humans. Not only if we invade all the store
just to kill humans but to use the equipment for ourselves like canned meat and things like that. Also,
invading all the buildings means we could use it for shelter, like a house. In summation this is why I
would invade all the buildings.
In conclusion, this is what I would do many things that the Triffids did not do in the pages we read.

United States Army Career Analysis
The United States Army is known as the senior and largest branch of the Armed Forces. It performs
land based operations along with assisting other branches of the service. Our modern army is
descended from the Continental Army, which was formed on June 14, 1775 in order to fight in the
Revolutionary War before the United States was an established country. Later, on June 3, 1784, the
Congress of the Confederation created the United States Army to replace the dismantled Continental
Army. There are differences of opinions as to when the official birthday of the Army is. Some consider
1784 as the start of our Army, while others say June 14, 1775 is the official birthday of the United
States Army, ( The United States Army, 2015). I agree with 1775 ... Show more content on

There are many AIT schools; and at the schools you will get a hands on education and field instruction
to enhance your expertise in the chosen field. I will do AIT at the Engineering School, because of my
chosen job, Combat Engineer, also called Sappers. Sappers are very important to the success of any
Army mission. During the Advanced Individualized Training, as a Sapper, I will learn a wide variety
of engineering skills that may include: bridge building, structural maintenance, and electrical repair.
There are different tasks generally for Combat Engineers that go with the skills taught including:
building and constructing bridges, minefield clearance and detonation, and any other task requiring the
specialized skills, (www.wood.army.mil/sapper). Sappers sometimes work with other branches to clear
a route of obstacles and rivers for a convoy to pass or ground troops to pass. Detecting the mines will
be done visually as well as with detectors. Sometimes they have to fix floating bridges, so learning to
swim can be important. Also, they construct fighting, obstacle, and defensive positions during special
missions. Combat Engineers primarily supervise and serve or assist as a member of a team when
tackling rough terrain in combat situations. The expertise provides mobility, counter mobility,
survivability, and general engineering duties. To do all the duties I previously mentioned, you must
first take the Armed Services Vocational Battery and get at least an 87. I made a 99.6, which says I am
very adaptable. This test will help you understand your strengths and identify if Combat Engineering
is your right fit. Engineers require additional 14 weeks of One Station Unit Training,
(www.wood.army.mil/sapper). Some of this classroom time is indoors, while the rest is in the field on
the job training. Training will involve

Ender s Game, By Orson Scott Card
In Ender s Game, by Orson Scott Card, Ender Wiggin is compassionate, which enables him to connect
with people, understand others, and repay his debt to the buggers. Ender is very compassionate since
he understands others, even his enemies, like when he gets into fights with other people. For example,
when Ender defeats the Giant in the game by scratching his eyes out, he realizes that he is doing it
again...[He s] hurting other people again, just to save [himself] (Card 115). The quote shows that
Ender does not mean to hurt people like Stilson and Bernard. He just has to deal with them because
that is what has to be done. He definitely regrets his actions and wishes that they would just leave him

how they feel, so that when he kills them, he feels terrible and wishes that he wasn t manipulated and

he will help the buggers. When Ender finds the last pupa egg and telecommunicates with the queen
bugger, he replies, I ll go from world to world until I find a time and place where you can come away
in safety (Card 321). He realizes that the buggers did not know that humans were a thinking race
during the First Invasion, which was when the buggers attacked the humans. And when they realized
their mistake, they hoped that the humans would forgive them. But when the humans do not forgive
them and attack during the Third Invasion, which is led by Ender, the buggers know that their race is

Temporary Foreign Worker Program ( Tfwp )
Cundal and Seaman discuss the many ways in which the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP)
is abused and the effects of this misuse on the workers. Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) are
working jobs that should be classified as long term positions, not short term. This incorrect
classification affects a worker s salary, healthcare plan, pension, vacation pay, and sick days. Cundal
and Seaman also address the ways in which TFW are more susceptible to employer abuse than other
workers. Temporary Foreign Workers must apply for a Labour Market Opinion (LMO) before
switching employers, which can take up to five months; most workers cannot afford to live without a
source of income for this length of time. This usually compels workers to keep serious issues private.
Many workers are also uninformed about their basic rights, which often leaves them exposed to
mistreatment or abuse by employers. Cundal, an immigration lawyer in Calgary and Seaman, a human
rights and civil liberties researcher wrote an unbiased and fact based article using a wide variety of
sources including articles, reports, and newsletters. Cundal and Seaman provided an extensive
reference list in addition to footnotes to support their writing. The authors not only address the human
rights issues faced by TFW s, they also identify ways in which these issues can be resolved. Cundal
and Seaman however, fail to provide information on how many TFW are affected by employer abuse
and exploitation. This information is

Sigmund Freud And The Psychosexual Stages Of Development
Sigmund Freud was a very well known psychologist in the early 20th century. He began his career in
partnership with Joseph Breuer. Together they wrote and published the book Studies in Hysteria in
1895, after studying patients with hysteria and developing the idea that most mental disorders were
caused by hidden traumatic experiences in the patients past. Freud began to put emphasis on the
sexual experiences of childhood and he lost the support of Breuer. Freud continued his work alone and
he published three more books. Freud s work was not well recognized because of his emphasis on sex.
In 1908, after the first International Psychoanalytical Congress, Freud s work began to gain popularity
and his psychoanalytic theory became well respected. He went on to publish more than twenty
theoretical volumes and clinical studies. He continued to develop his ideas until he died of cancer in
1939. One of Freud s theories was the psychosexual stages of development. It is important to
recognize that Freud changed the meaning of sexuality to any form of pleasure that can be or is
gathered from the body. Freud based his theory on the thought that all human instincts and drives were

Analysis Of Worlds Apart By Bruce Springsteen
Love is often a powerful human feeling which, can bring many together. However, this attitude can
turn everything into one big problem if not treated accordingly. Worlds apart, by Bruce Springsteen
portrays the beautiful story of the conflicts of love and religion.
Bruce Springsteen s, Worlds Apart, focuses on a somewhat continuous problem about love and
culture, how sometimes religion isn t able to accept love over differences. Bruce writes about the
major conflicts in Muslim culture when it comes to love. He portrays the story of trying to build a
bridge over two different lovers from different cultures and the hardships of doing so.
In one of the lines of his song he writes, Neath Allah s blessed rain we remain worlds apart, the line
itself shows how hard it is to remain together under Allah. Bruce describes trying to love a Muslim
woman and mentioning how it feels as they remain, Worlds Apart. The exaggeration in this shows the
vast extent of the conflicts between love and Muslim culture. Bruce is unable to be with the woman he
loves as her religion cannot accept his love. Unable to be together due to someone s lifestyle makes us
see the bigger picture, of how loving someone from a different religion has turned into a crime.
Another line in which shows us the conflict between love and Muslim culture is when Bruce mentions
May the living let us in before the dead tear us apart. Bruce s plea in this line shows us the great
extent, of the problem between love and Muslim culture. The line itself shows the desperation of
being accepted by people before having others come and tear them apart. Bruce makes it seem as if
love has become completely forbidden due to the differences. The usage of the line, the dead tear us
apart, show how even the dead people who aren t living are capable of tearing two living beings from
each other.
In another line, bruce mentions, But when I look into your eyes we remain worlds apart. Bruce s
constant repetition of the words Worlds apart , enables us as the reader to see precisely how clashing
Muslim religion and love can be. Our belief and religion can often change how we act or dress and
even change how we associate ourselves with others. Love is a feeling we

LeBron James and Michael Jordan: Chasing the Greatest of All Time Since the beginning of the NBA
there have always been transcendent stars whose ability, charisma, and championship drive defined
their personas. Michael Jordan is widely considered to be the greatest basketball player of all time,
with the exception of perhaps Kareem Abdul Jabbar who played in a completely different era.
However, before Jordan there was Julius Erving (Dr. J). When Jordan came into the league, he was
labeled the next Dr. J, who was considered to be a magician on the court. Jordan was a clone of Dr. J

LeBron thus far has averaged 27.2 points per game compared to Jordan s 30.1. Jordan won the scoring
title nine more times than LeBron but only averaged three more points per game. A major discrepancy
between the two lies within the comparison of rebounds per game and assists per game. LeBron
averages 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists, making him a triple double threat every night. Meanwhile,
Jordan averaged only 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists, which, while fantastic for a guard in any era, is not
quite the same as LeBron s total impact on the ballgame. In the end, LeBron s legacy will ultimately
be defined by the number of championships he wins compared to Jordan. He may never get to six but
not many ever will. LeBron s legacy should be defined by his domination over his peers in
conjunction with his ability to morph the game generally to his all around abilities even though he has
never been the pure scorer Jordan

Sea Turtle Poe
Sea Turtles and Poe
Sea turtles need to posses the traits of a solitary animal because they are left by their family at birth. A
good name for a sea turtle would be Edgar Allan Poe because Poe lost many family members and
acquaintances throughout his life. Also, Poe lived in solitude for the majority of his life which made
him acquire the loner trait. A mother sea turtle lays her eggs and then goes off to sea, leaving her
babies to fend for themselves. When the baby sea turtles hatch from their eggs, they begin their
journey towards the sea. Many babies are picked off by seagulls and other larger animals (Means n.

other large predators for meat, eggs, skin, and shells. In addition, sea turtles are becoming increasingly
vulnerable due to habitat destruction. Many types of pollutants and human interactions are destroying
the seas, which are the homes of sea turtles ( Sea n.pag). Edgar Allan Poe was a very vulnerable
person because he dealt many issues in his life. Edgar Allan Poe s issues ranged from alcoholism to
depression, as well as drug addiction. These circumstances make both Poe and sea turtles extremely

Just As Computational Fluid Dynamics ( Cfd )
Just as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a central tool in the development of advanced design
across all industries, multiphase CFD (M CFD) is sought after to support the escalation of
performance, efficiency and reliability in a widespread range of applications that rely on boiling heat
transfer: from microelectronics, to combustion engine cooling, and further to highly specialized design
and licensing of nuclear reactor fuel. Due to the markedly complex physics involved, the application
of M CFD to boiling heat transfer is rather young; yet widespread agreement exists on two points, one
being the great potential of the approach and the other being the need for improved closure relations to
describe the subgrid micro scale effects that cannot be directly resolved.
Among the numerous objectives in assembling a reliable M CFD boiling framework, one challenge
stands out and has driven the overall approach: deliver an accurate representation of the physics at the
boiling wall, with the specific aim of challenging the Departure from Nucleate Boiling (DNB) related
predictions. The objective is not original, and if we take Dr. Yadigarouglu s recent statement

has not found yet a definitive general solution and it may never find one . While a definitive and

Why Is The Third Little Pig Admirable
The Three Little Pigs Essay
The third little pig is an admirable character because he works hard, he is brave, and because he is
willing to outwit his enemy, the wolf.He works hard by building his house, he is brave because he
stands up to the wolf, and he is intelligent because he is willing to outsmart the enemy. The first
reason why the third little pig is hard working is because he took the time and effort to build a brick
house. He first found the bricks which probably were hard to find. Then after he found them, he had to
transport them to the location where is the house was going to be.He then continued to lay the bricks
down one by one to make a well structured house to repel enemies. He is additionally hard working not
only because he built the house out of brick but because he put up four walls a roof and even a

Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Personal Study Plan
This presentation will discuss key factors that impact planning personal study, such as strengths and
weaknesses. Also, this presentation will include how to access and locate resources in the Learning

because I work as an Auxiliary Nurse and I am required to work shifts. I have no standard shift pattern
and what I have to work varies on a weekly basis, this means that can cannot allocate certain days or
time for personal study as I may be working or travelling. Attendance may also have an impact on my
ability to study this is because at my work place there is no flexible working policy available. As well
as this my ward manager is unsupportive in allowing time off for attending the college based study or
changing shifts where needed. One factors that may have a negative effect on implementing an
effective study plan is finding time to seeing my family, friends and boyfriend. I usually help look
after my younger brother who has Asperger s once a week, so that my mam can get her planning for
work and shopping done more easily. I have chronic pain issues with my back and neck this can make
it difficult to concentrate due to high dosage painkillers also, this means that I am unable to sit and

The Theory Of Decision Making
In our everyday life we are in front of multiple decisions to take, from the easy ones as what coffee to
get to the more complicated ones, as what jobs to apply for. The word Decision originated from Latin
word de ciso which indicates cutting off . This implicates that the act of deciding is to come to a
conclusion among different options. How many options are available though? Throughout the years,
many behavioural scientists proposed different theories in order to explain how we face decisions and
act before them. Do we calculate them all accurately before cutting off ? One of the most recognized
theories for decision making is the von Neumann Morgenstern utility theorem (1944), which states
that the decision maker in front of all the different choices will behave as if he is maximizing the
expected value of some function defined over the potential outcomes. Based on the expected utility,
the von Neumann Morgenstern model is constructed upon the fundamental assumption that humans
behave in a perfect rational way being able to calculate all the options and choosing among them the
one that allows to maximize the expected utility. However, as the major critics to this model sustain,
individuals are not fully rational when taking decisions. Their cognitive process is limited to the
complexity of the environment in which they are taking decisions. The homo economicus is portrayed
as capable of solving complex problems of optimization of resources allocation as well as

Similarities And Differences Between Summer And Winter
Summer and winter are both very nice seasons. Many people like both of these seasons, but really
these two seasons have nothing in common. Winter is the season that has more activities and can do
more of the summer activities making it better. They have different clothing and different amounts of
clothing, they both have animals, but this is also different in each season, they have different foods
and different temperature of foods and they also have different activities that adapt to the type of
weather in these seasons.
The difference in clothing is a really big difference in types of cloths but also in the amount of cloths.
In the summer, people were cloths that are usually one layer at most. These clothes usually consist of
shorts and tank tops or t shirts. In the winter people wear clothes that are a lot more heavily coated. In
the winter people tend to wear a t shirt underneath a sweater. This is because the winter can be warmer
than usual and that is when you take off your sweater. Then usually people wear a big, big coats when
it starts colder. When you get cold than you can always add layers. In the summer you only can take
off so many clothes. When kids go outside, then they also will use their snow pants when they play in
the snow. In the summer people usually where there flip flops and other things like that which could
also include runners. In the winter people wear boots and this will keep your feet very warm compared
to what you would were in the summer.

A Very Brief Look at Ireland
An old myth claims that St.Patrick used his to scare all the snakes into sea. Therefore, there are no
snakes in Ireland. Ireland gained it s independence from Great Britain in 1937. The head of Ireland is
still under Britain s command. Before Ireland became a country, Ireland was covered in ice and snow,
during the the Last Glacial Maximum. The Last Glacial Maximum is the era when ice covered
northern Europe, Asia, and America, which was about 20,000 years ago. Ireland is the sixth richest
country in the world, which is surprising because it is mostly farm land.
Around 600 and 800 B.C. Celtic tribes began to settle on Ireland. Around the 12th century Britain took
the Irish s independence. During the potato famine, in the 1840s, farmers dug up potatoes then a day
after the potatoes became slimy, blackish, mass of rottenness . About 1 1/4 million Irish left their
homes. They took ships Canada and America hoping for a better life.
On 1916, Easter Monday, Ireland started a Rebellion. The IRA , Irish Republican Army, fought Britain
for five years to win independence for 26 southern counties. The other 6 counties are still under
Britain s control. This lead to the Troubles in the 1960 s which were acts of violence on the United

A Complicated Kindness And Catcher In The Rye
A Complicated Kindness is an adolescent novel by Miriam Toews, published originally by Knopf
Canada in 2004. Inspired by her experience as a Mennonite herself, Toews crafts a story around a
teenage girl known informally as Nomi. Nomi experiences the hardships of religious oppression only
to let her family give in first. Catcher in the Rye is, too, an adolescent novel written instead by J. D.
Salinger. Comparable to A Complicated Kindness, Catcher in the Rye saw some inspiration for the
story by Salinger s experience as an angsty teenager in New York. The resulting tale is of a young man
named Holden who abandons schooling and his wealthy home to find a place to belong. These two
narratives more than fifty years apart have some striking parallels about them. The central theme in
both novels is how the benefits to maturity are greatly desired by youth, but the path to ... Show more

Taxonomy and Morphology
Vibrio cholerae is a gram negative bacterium which is causative agent for the diarrheal disease
cholera. Vibrio cholerae is a member of the Vibrionaceae family, which is a facultative anaerobic and
is capable of respiratory and fermentative metabolism. It does not form spores and its motility is due
to the single polar flagellum. Vibrios are highly halophylic and are very sensitive to low pH. (Nair,

Resistance to cholera may be related to the antibody, local immunoglobulin A against the cholera
bacterium or cholera enterotoxin. It can prevent the attachment of the bacteria to the mucosal surface
and also block the binding of cholera enterotoxin. IgA is found in breast milk, and breastfeeding can
increase the immunity of the infants to cholera and other diarrheal diseases. Patient s recovery from
cholera depends on the antibiotics or patient s own immune system and regeneration of the epithelial
cell s of the intestine. (Finkelstein, 1996)
Hygiene and sanitary control
Cholera is closely connected with the poor hygiene and sanitation. The simplest way to control this is
to protect drinking water and food from being contaminated with the human feces. For example,
education and compulsion may help to eradicate careless defecation by the people. Also, it is
necessary to provide such areas with temporary trench type latrines, and the powdered chloride should
be dropped over excreta and soiled surfaces in and around latrines. In the cities, the public latrines
should be maintained properly. Safe disposal of excretes should be certainly done to prevent the
contamination of water sources. Before the sewage would be poured into the rivers and lakes, it
should be chlorinated. (Formadi, 2007)

Being A Mental State Of Awareness
Conscious is thought to be a mental state in which we are able to process information and act on it.
However this term is used to describe a state of awareness while awake whereas there seems to be
varying levels of consciousness that describe most mental states. If information can be perceived
(knowing or unknowingly) then it is likely that you are conscious, e.g. even when in light sleep we can
dream and may even wake up on hearing a loud noise, therefore the brain still processes information,
however in deep sleep this is not the case. When looking at consciousness, there is what Levine
described as the explanatory gap (Levine, 1983). This states that in the present moment we are not
able to provide an explanation for the phenomena that is consciousness however as time goes on and
our knowledge of neuroscience increases this gap will close gradually until it is non existent (Block
Young, 1996). However despite this statement being made by Levine around 30 years ago, the
explanatory gap still remains although it is clearly beginning to close, we still have some way to go
before we can begin to understand what consciousness is. Consciousness is inherently a subjective
matter as there are many different meanings for the word which are seemingly thrown around without
much thought, there is no way to prove that one normal experience of consciousness is the same as
another (qualia) and we are unable to scientifically explain conscious experiences. Therefore before
we can

Anthropometry Technique And Physiological Changes
Anthropometry technique and physiological changes in life stages
Anthropometry has been around since the 19th century. Scientists have developed incipient techniques
such as MRI, CT scans for quantifying body compositions. According to Jellife (1966),
Anthropometry is the measurement of the variations of physical dimensions and composition of the
human body at different age levels . Anthropometry can be used to assess the nutritional status of the
individual within a population by determining physiological factors whether an individual is well
nourished or undernourished.
Anthropometric technique can be identified as a direct method and developed measurements of body
weight, height, circumference, and skinfold thickness. (1) Body mass index (BMI) is calculated
weight/height and used as Weight. The body weight takes into account the age and gender of the
individual. The weight was measured using a digital scale and used to categorise both overweight or
obesity and also eating disorders (Wells, 2006). Individuals will need to remove heavier outer
garments for example, jackets, coats and shoes, the scale will be balanced at zero before the individual
stands on the scale. The weight is measured in kilograms in adults. All participants should be
measured except pregnant women or persons who have difficulty standing.
Another technique is (2) the standing height measured with a wall mounted stadiometer which
measures the growth of the individual. The individual need

Comparing Three Paintings
Sometimes in life, beauty appears only to those who seek it out. That is because we must learn to
recognize that beauty comes in many different forms and sometimes with greatly varying
characteristics. Because one thing is beautiful, it does not mean that something different can t be
equally so. The 3 paintings discussed in the following paragraphs, are a great example of this concept.
Large Bathers , is widely considered to be one of his Paul Cezanne s finest, if not his finest, work.
Looking at the brilliant color, the depiction of the structure of the figures, the attention to composition
and the creation of implied spatial depth, it is not hard to see how Cezanne came to influence a
number of prominent artists in his own day, as well as of the next generation. There is a certain

basic geometric shapes and they are set against a two dimensional plane, in stark contrast to the spatial
depth that Cezanne featured ( Pablo Picasso s Cubism Period , n.d.).
Picasso s work is more monochromatic, as opposed to the brilliant colors of Cezanne s work. In it s

the influence of African art on Picasso. The Girls of Avignon is widely considered to be the finest and

The Theory Of Foreign Policy Changes
In Painful Choices, David Welch is entirely focused on developing a theory of when and why foreign
policy changes. Welch is also interested in a way to forecast these changes. His assembled theory,
which I will evaluate in greater depth, is termed the Loss Aversion Theory of Foreign Policy Change .
This Theory entails three hypotheses on the conditions under which we can expect and, more
importantly, predict changes in foreign policy. Although Welch remains humble regarding his Theory s
drawbacks and predictive capabilities, there are some potentially problematic assumptions at the
foundation of Loss Aversion Theory. I will discuss why Welch s Theory is primarily useful solely at
the Individual Level. Finally, I intend to discuss why the Theory is not a comprehensive theory of
foreign policy and why the assumptions required for the Theory to hold limit the cases that can be
explained by it. After finding numerous theoretical and practical difficulties in the attempts thus far to
draft of a theory of state behavior, Welch proposes that [a] possible way out of [these difficulties] is to
seek to base predictions not on explanations of why states behave the way they do in general... but on
explanations of why they deviate from their prior behavior. Looking only at the changes in state
behavior is a radical approach; it is a perspective from which what [states] do in general is irrelevant.
2 Temporarily ignoring state goals, Welch turns his attention to how states

How Did Columbus Change America
Christopher Columbus, an experienced seafarer, left landmark achievements in various destinations he
set foot in. He made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain and he mistakenly thought there
was a quicker route to Asia. It turned out he landed on two unknown continents (Jane, pg.6). In the
event of making journeys, he accidentally came across to natives where he taught the spirit of
exploration injecting a great deal in America s global economy. The journey started at the beginning of
different acts like colonization.
Landing of Columbus in America shaped up the living standards of the natives from the former states
to improved measures powered by the spirit of exploration. Columbus changed the world by
introducing the land hungry Europeans to America who reshaped Mexico, Canada, and many other
Caribbean nations through exploration and use of natural resources (Mckay, pg.471). It improved the
hard work of America citizens since the world of trade was opened. ... Show more content on

He brought Columbian Exchange which involves the exchange of plants and animals between Europe
and Americas. Pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, potatoes, and corn became part of the European diet from
America. (McKay, pg. 463). In the same way, Americans got the opportunity to get back cattle, sheep,
and hogs from Europe. Also, the introduction of new taste of crops including coffee mainly from
Africa, sugar cane from Asian parts, and wheat from greater part of Europe changed the landscape of
New World. Sadly, a disease also emerges, which forced both societies to deal with such as

Essay On Lipid Based Carry System
As of late, a lot of intrigue has been focussed on lipid based carries systems. The most prevalent
approach is the fuse of the active poorly water dissolvable part into inert lipid vehicles, for example,
oils, surfactant dispersions, solid dispersions, solid lipid nanoparticles, emulsions, micro emulsions,
Nano emulsions, self emulsifying plans (SEF), micro/nanoemulsifying formulations, and liposomes.
The essential component of activity by which a lipid formulation prompts enhanced bioavailability is
typically avoidance of a slow dissolution process which constrains the bioavailability of hydrophobic
drugs from solid dose frames (Shweta Gupta, 2013). Ideally the plan enables the drug to stay in a
dissolved state all through its travel in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regardless of the extensive potential that these lipid excipients offer, not very many lipids based
Formulations have achieved the pharmaceutical commercial place. This might be because of the
inadequate data with respect to the generally complex physical science of lipids and worries about
figured drugs substance and physical stability. In addition to these concerns, the interaction of a lipid
based formulation with the GI condition and its effect on drug absorption is also important. For
example, edible lipids have been appeared to be extensively more productive enhancers of poorly
soluble drug ingestion, as compared to nondigestible lipids (e.g., liquid paraffin). Unsaturated fat
chain length of the lipid likewise impacts drug absorption. Both long and medium chain triglyceride
oils with various degrees of saturation have been utilized for the design of self emulsifying
formulations.
2. Surfactants: The self emulsifying properties require the incorporation of moderately a lot of
surfactant in the formulation notwithstanding the oily drug carrier vehicle. The surfactants may
improve the affinity between lipids and intestinal membrane or increase the permeability of the
intestinal membrane (Gershanik T, 2000). Surfactants increment the

Essay On Broroca s Area Of The Brain
One important area of the brain that some would say is very important, would be Broca s area. Broca s
area is a functionally defined structure in the elft frontal lobe of most humans. It is involved mainly in
producing speech, writing, and also in language processing and comprehension. This part of the brain
would be stimulated when a certain group of friends ask you to come over for pizza and thoughout the
night when the individuals are communicating. Without this portion of the brain functioning as it
should, one would not be able to communicate with others, the indivudal would understand everything
being said to them. However, when the indivual would go to speek, it would sound as if the indivual
was saying random words, making converstaion a excessivly harder. Another region of the brain that
would be stimulated would be the hippocampus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hippocampus is associated mainly with memory, in particualr long term meomry. When an
individual is with others, it is the hippocampus that allows the person to remember past memories of
the ones he or she is with. Being phoned by friends to come have pizza with them, activates the limbic
system, the hippocampus, and allows for the person to think back and determine if he or she would
want to go have pizza with that set of friends. In Alzheimer s disease, the hippocampus is affected and
the person is unable to remember certain memories or becomes confused. The hippocampous and
Broca s area are not the only portion of the brain that are being stimulated. Along with those, the
hypothalamus is working

Review of The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, conducted by Bernard Haitink in 2009
The Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68 was composed by Beethoven and was completed in
1808. It is also referred to as Pastoral Symphony. In 2009, Bernard Haitink conducted the performance
of the symphony by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
From Haitink s concert on Beethoven s sixth symphony, I was expecting to see the original work of
composer. The symphony has qualities of both the classical and romantic periods and illustrates
composer s radical ideas as well as highlighting his classical influences. Its programmatic nature is the
main romantic feature though the dramatic dynamic changes, as well as the use of percussion and
brass, are also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Programmatic symphonies occurred primarily in the late Romantic and Classical period. The
repetition of the different subjects is a feature is a programmatic symphony and, therefore, a romantic
trait. For example, the bird calls produced by the strings in bar
151 are programmatic.
Haitink s traversal of the Pastoral is a fine achievement, established on tempi that strike the viewers.
On the first movement, he takes it at a flowing, warm tempo. The Orchestra plays radiantly for him.
The played symphony has a nice, firm bass line, revealingly enriched at intervals by the horns, and its
attention to dynamics is meticulous throughout the whole symphony. The first movement ends in such
a way that, the symphony can be heard as a wonderfully civilized and wise account of the
performance.
The second movement is designed beautifully. Once again the tempo is skillfully chosen.
The woodwinds and the strings afford Haitink some fine playing and there are several lovely
woodwind solos for the audience to enjoy. The third movement is lithe and light this is a joyful and
well sprung dance. The subsequent storm is exciting, featuring some thrilling strikes on the timpani.
The finale brings an excellent summary of the performance. In Haitink s experienced hands, the
symphony is serene, displaying an inner radiance and warmth. The style is demonstrative and
completely natural. The pacing is perfect and the playing is glowing.
Even though Haitink shapes

High School And College Is The Sports Knowledge
Another difference between high school and college is the sports knowledge. High school coaches use
simple offense and defense concepts because the level of play is not as good. College teams use a
more complex offense and defense system because the level of play is higher. The professional teams
have the most elaborate offensive and defensive schemes. College helps players mentally get ready for
professional play by teaching the players things high school coaches don t have time to teach the.
When an athlete makes it to the professional level they are expected to understand the concepts.
Athletes are better prepared to play professionally if they go to college. College athletic programs
offer athletes specialized training, which is very difficult to get anywhere else. Every team has a
trainer for the athletes. The trainers give the athletes specialized workouts and diets to make the
athletes the best they can be. Most of the trainers have degrees in physical training or a similar area.
The training makes athletes tremendously better than when they arrived at the university. The training
also makes athletes ready for the professional level. It is extremely rare for an athlete to be physically
ready to play professionally when they are in high school. the college training helps athletes be
physically ready to play professionally and shows them the work ethic needed to be a professional
athlete.
The athletes are the ones performing for the university s and the

Weed Non Interference
The results showed that the effects of weed non interference and plant density on fresh yield (fresh
weight) of plant in both cuttings were significant at 1% level (Tables 1 and 3). According to the table
7, it was observed that weed non interference (hand weeding) had significant impact on the fresh
weight of alfalfa. With increasing plant density, fresh yield level showed upward trend so that the
highest alfalfa fresh weight was observed in density of 80 plants per square meter (Table 9).
Combined analysis of weed non interference and plant density in both cuttings on fresh weight of
alfalfa (Table 5) showed that the cutting had significant effect on the level of 1%. In general,

In the first and second cuttings, the dry weight was affected by the weed non interference and plant
density (Tables 1 and 3). The weed non interference significantly increased dry weight of alfalfa and it
could have a direct impact on dry yield. In general, we saw an increase in dry weight of forage by
raising the density, but there was no significant difference between 40 and 60 stems per square meter
(Table 9) though the trend was on the rise. Elevated density per unit area was directly related to the
dry weight, and the highest dry weight yield was obtained at density of 80 stems per square meter;
hence, the appropriate planting density is very noteworthy. The researchers have considered repeatedly
the importance of determining the appropriate density of alfalfa planting and other crops (Raoofi and
Giti, 2015). The results of combined analysis showed that the fresh weight and dry weight were under
the influence of cutting, hand weeding and plant density (Table 5). In general, the space was provided
for the success of alfalfa forage crop through the weed control, by more favorable taking advantage of
resources and conditions and by overcome the

It is vital to track the data accurately because it will allow staff to determine if a student is making progress or regressing with that target behavior (Cooper, Heron Heward (2007) During my data collection of these problem behaviors, I made sure i put in my undivided attention to make sure it was as reliable and accurate as possible Reference: Cooper, J. • 7. Agnés Varda s Women Agnès Varda made several films during the New Wave that were pertinent to women. She herself is in an atypical profession in the male dominated industry of film. She continues to challenge male dominated filmmaking and creates films and characters that also challenge the traditional role of women. Any preconceived notions of what a woman should be are nowhere to be seen in Varda s films. Feminism is manifested in many of Varda s films. She shows the journey of different women in a male dominated society. Cléo in Cléo from 5 to 7 goes through her journey trapped by the male gaze, imprisoned. This pivotal moment is when Cléo is going to change her position and become the one who gazes. To achieve this she has to give up all the superficiality and physical nuances of her every day life as Cléo, the singer. She proceeds to go behind a curtain, takes off her wig, and puts on a plain back dress. She strips herself of Cléo and becomes Florence. Her show world , her life as Cléo alienates her, makes her a spectacle for people to gaze at. But by stripping herself of this image, she starts to master her ability to have her own gaze. Cléo sheds her false image in order to actively observe her surroundings. This leads to her spontaneous friendship with Antoine later on. With her new image, Cléo eventually begins to challenge her gaze with the gaze of all of the others. When walking down the street, Cléo is not alienated anymore; she is just another person in the crowd on the busy streets of Paris. • 8. The Factors Of Christianity And Christianity In The Roman... Christianity did not spread very quickly initially, but in the 2nd century it spread like a wildfire. The spread of the religion was rapid and was due to many factors. Christianity spread due to its universality, its familiarity to the Roman people, and the fact that it gave people hope. Christianity gave something to the people of the Roman Empire that they had never experienced before. Although Jesus was dead, his teachings were still very much alive and thriving within his followers. This is evident in Christianity s expansion throughout the Roman Empire. Christianity was a religion for everyone, where no one was excluded. Throughout the Roman Empire, many mystery cults existed. Unlike Christianity, many of these religions were exclusive to only men or women, keeping some people out while including the others. Mithraism was one that was only open to men, while the cult of Isis was a religion exclusive to women. Christianity was completely inclusive. It was for the rich, the poor, the slaves, the men, and the women. A peasant had just as much place in Christianity as an aristocrat. Spiritual equality was a reality in Christianity. It had previously been believed that only Jewish people could join Christianity, but Paul of Tarsus changed that by sharing his beliefs. Paul of Tarsus, also called the second founder of Christianity, believed that gentiles should be given the opportunity to be a part of Christianity too. Some of my youngest memories involve reading, and many of these memories are enjoyable. Every night before bed my mom would read to me, and I remember begging to read just one more before she tucked me in almost every night. This is when my love for reading sparked. Throughout grade school, I continued to read frequently and never found it to be a chore; however, once middle school hit I no longer included reading as a past time or found it pleasurable. As a child, I enjoyed several different genres of novels and many different topics intrigued me, so it wasn t necessarily what I was reading that disinterested me. One required novel I remember reading was The Outsiders in seventh grade. This was a type of book I feel I would normally enjoy because of the mystery and action; however, I couldn t bring myself to truly become engaged in this novel. Reason being it was a forced act, with multiple worksheets and homework to accompany the reading. Fast forward to high school when I m reading my required lengths in an anatomy and physiology textbook. Science has always been an interest of mine; in fact, I m now majoring in Human Physiology. Yet reading this text wasn t something I enjoyed. Again, because it felt forced; it was not something I was doing simply out of interest. Pinocchio was made in 1940 using cell animation with the story taken from an existing folk tale. Toy Story was made in 1995 and it was the first computer generated feature film. This created a whole new genre of computer animated films such as Finding Nemo and the recent Incredibles . Both of these films use a toy as the main character and as always they both fit into the conventions of any Disney film. The good characters in Pinocchio are very stereotypical such as Gepetto. He is a typical homely grandfather figure. Jiminy Cricket adds guidance and humour to the film and finally the Blue Fairy is added for beauty with bright ora. On the other hand Sid s toys in Toy Story are very unattractive, and at first we are led to believe they are evil, but in fact they save Woody and Buzz. This shows that you should never judge on appearance. As we have good characters there are also evil characters. They are usually portrayed in very stereotypical ways such as an evil laugh or an ugly exterior. Some examples of this is Stromboli the circus owner in Pinocchio who is large and intimidating. His eyes are frightening and he is most definitely greedy. Honest John is also evil; he is a sly and cunning fox with a pun on his name. In Toy Story the only bad character is Sid. He is horrible, ugly (a brace and an evil laugh) and even he destroys toys. But as in every Disney film the good will eventually overcome the evil. • 13. Exploitation And Societal Reorganization Of Karl Marx And... Sabrina Gibson Honors Mosaics II Professor Smetona 09 November 2015 Exploitation and Societal Reorganization Karl Marx and Mary Wollstonecraft are both philosophers who have observed the relationships between ruling and ruled classes of people. In Marx s text Capital he discusses how there must exist a bourgeois class that exploits a class of proletarians in order for capitalism to exist. Mary Wollstonecraft in her work A Vindication of the Rights of Woman argues that a patriarchal society in which women are forced to depend on men for every aspect of their lives is exploitation and detrimental to everyone involved. A concept that is shared between these two works is that a society that depends on the domination and exploitation of a class will naturally reorganize into a society that has a balance between classes. The exploitation of workers by capitalists is necessary for a capitalist society to exist properly. When viewing the relations between members of a capitalist society as individuals, it can seem that capitalism is based on freedom and equality. The proletariat class, or those who do not own any means of production, sell their labor power to the bourgeoisie, or capitalists. The proletariats are free to sell their labor power to whichever industry they choose, and will be compensated fairly for their work in the form of wages. This concept of labor power is an integral part of Marx s argument about capitalism. He explains that labor power is the mental and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) are working jobs that should be classified as long term positions, not short term. This incorrect classification affects a worker s salary, healthcare plan, pension, vacation pay, and sick days. Cundal and Seaman also address the ways in which TFW are more susceptible to employer abuse than other workers. Temporary Foreign Workers must apply for a Labour Market Opinion (LMO) before switching employers, which can take up to five months; most workers cannot afford to live without a source of income for this length of time. This usually compels workers to keep serious issues private. Many workers are also uninformed about their basic rights, which often leaves them exposed to mistreatment or abuse by employers. Cundal, an immigration lawyer in Calgary and Seaman, a human rights and civil liberties researcher wrote an unbiased and fact based article using a wide variety of sources including articles, reports, and newsletters. Freud began to put emphasis on the sexual experiences of childhood and he lost the support of Breuer. Freud continued his work alone and he published three more books. Freud s work was not well recognized because of his emphasis on sex. He went on to publish more than twenty theoretical volumes and clinical studies. He continued to develop his ideas until he died of cancer in 1939. One of Freud s theories was the psychosexual stages of development. It is important to recognize that Freud changed the meaning of sexuality to any form of pleasure that can be or is gathered from the body. Freud based his theory on the thought that all human instincts and drives were based on the desire to gain or increase bodily pleasure. However, this attitude can turn everything into one big problem if not treated accordingly. Worlds apart, by Bruce Springsteen portrays the beautiful story of the conflicts of love and religion. Bruce Springsteen s, Worlds Apart, focuses on a somewhat continuous problem about love and culture, how sometimes religion isn t able to accept love over differences. Bruce writes about the major conflicts in Muslim culture when it comes to love. He portrays the story of trying to build a bridge over two different lovers from different cultures and the hardships of doing so. In one of the lines of his song he writes, Neath Allah s blessed rain we remain worlds apart, the line itself shows how hard it is to remain together under Allah. Bruce describes trying to love a Muslim woman and mentioning how it feels as they remain, Worlds Apart. The exaggeration in this shows the vast extent of the conflicts between love and Muslim culture. Bruce is unable to be with the woman he loves as her religion cannot accept his love. Unable to be together due to someone s lifestyle makes us see the bigger picture, of how loving someone from a different religion has turned into a crime. Another line in which shows us the conflict between love and Muslim culture is when Bruce mentions May the living let us in before the dead tear us apart. Bruce s plea in this line shows us the great extent, of the problem between love and Muslim culture. The line itself shows the desperation of being accepted by people before having others come and tear them apart. Bruce makes it seem as if love has become completely forbidden due to the differences. The usage of the line, the dead tear us apart, show how even the dead people who aren t living are capable of tearing two living beings from each other. In another line, bruce mentions, But when I look into your eyes we remain worlds apart. Also, this presentation will include how to access and locate resources in the Learning Centre. Work commitments can make it difficult to put an effective personal study plan in place this is because I work as an Auxiliary Nurse and I am required to work shifts. I have no standard shift pattern and what I have to work varies on a weekly basis, this means that can cannot allocate certain days or time for personal study as I may be working or travelling. Attendance may also have an impact on my ability to study this is because at my work place there is no flexible working policy available. As well as this my ward manager is unsupportive in allowing time off for attending the college based study or changing shifts where needed. One factors that may have a negative effect on implementing an effective study plan is finding time to seeing my family, friends and boyfriend. I usually help look after my younger brother who has Asperger s once a week, so that my mam can get her planning for work and shopping done more easily. I have chronic pain issues with my back and neck this can make it difficult to concentrate due to high dosage painkillers also, this means that I am unable to sit and study for long periods of time without increased pain. • 28. The Theory Of Decision Making In our everyday life we are in front of multiple decisions to take, from the easy ones as what coffee to get to the more complicated ones, as what jobs to apply for. The word Decision originated from Latin word de ciso which indicates cutting off . This implicates that the act of deciding is to come to a conclusion among different options. How many options are available though? Throughout the years, many behavioural scientists proposed different theories in order to explain how we face decisions and act before them. Do we calculate them all accurately before cutting off ? One of the most recognized theories for decision making is the von Neumann Morgenstern utility theorem (1944), which states that the decision maker in front of all the different choices will behave as if he is maximizing the expected value of some function defined over the potential outcomes. Based on the expected utility, the von Neumann Morgenstern model is constructed upon the fundamental assumption that humans behave in a perfect rational way being able to calculate all the options and choosing among them the one that allows to maximize the expected utility. However, as the major critics to this model sustain, individuals are not fully rational when taking decisions. Their cognitive process is limited to the complexity of the environment in which they are taking decisions. The homo economicus is portrayed as capable of solving complex problems of optimization of resources allocation as well as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people like both of these seasons, but really these two seasons have nothing in common. Winter is the season that has more activities and can do more of the summer activities making it better. They have different clothing and different amounts of clothing, they both have animals, but this is also different in each season, they have different foods and different temperature of foods and they also have different activities that adapt to the type of weather in these seasons. The difference in clothing is a really big difference in types of cloths but also in the amount of cloths. In the summer, people were cloths that are usually one layer at most. These clothes usually consist of shorts and tank tops or t shirts. In the winter people wear clothes that are a lot more heavily coated. In the winter people tend to wear a t shirt underneath a sweater. This is because the winter can be warmer than usual and that is when you take off your sweater. Then usually people wear a big, big coats when it starts colder. When you get cold than you can always add layers. In the summer you only can take off so many clothes. • 36. Being A Mental State Of Awareness Conscious is thought to be a mental state in which we are able to process information and act on it. However this term is used to describe a state of awareness while awake whereas there seems to be varying levels of consciousness that describe most mental states. If information can be perceived (knowing or unknowingly) then it is likely that you are conscious, e.g. even when in light sleep we can dream and may even wake up on hearing a loud noise, therefore the brain still processes information, however in deep sleep this is not the case. When looking at consciousness, there is what Levine described as the explanatory gap (Levine, 1983). This states that in the present moment we are not able to provide an explanation for the phenomena that is consciousness however as time goes on and our knowledge of neuroscience increases this gap will close gradually until it is non existent (Block Young, 1996). However despite this statement being made by Levine around 30 years ago, the explanatory gap still remains although it is clearly beginning to close, we still have some way to go before we can begin to understand what consciousness is. Consciousness is inherently a subjective matter as there are many different meanings for the word which are seemingly thrown around without much thought, there is no way to prove that one normal experience of consciousness is the same as another (qualia) and we are unable to scientifically explain conscious experiences. Anthropometry can be used to assess the nutritional status of the individual within a population by determining physiological factors whether an individual is well nourished or undernourished. Anthropometric technique can be identified as a direct method and developed measurements of body weight, height, circumference, and skinfold thickness. The weight was measured using a digital scale and used to categorise both overweight or obesity and also eating disorders (Wells, 2006). Individuals will need to remove heavier outer garments for example, jackets, coats and shoes, the scale will be balanced at zero before the individual stands on the scale. Welch is also interested in a way to forecast these changes. His assembled theory, which I will evaluate in greater depth, is termed the Loss Aversion Theory of Foreign Policy Change . This Theory entails three hypotheses on the conditions under which we can expect and, more importantly, predict changes in foreign policy. Although Welch remains humble regarding his Theory s drawbacks and predictive capabilities, there are some potentially problematic assumptions at the foundation of Loss Aversion Theory. I will discuss why Welch s Theory is primarily useful solely at the Individual Level. Finally, I intend to discuss why the Theory is not a comprehensive theory of foreign policy and why the assumptions required for the Theory to hold limit the cases that can be explained by it. After finding numerous theoretical and practical difficulties in the attempts thus far to draft of a theory of state behavior, Welch proposes that [a] possible way out of [these difficulties] is to seek to base predictions not on explanations of why states behave the way they do in general... but on explanations of why they deviate from their prior behavior. For example, edible lipids have been appeared to be extensively more productive enhancers of poorly soluble drug ingestion, as compared to nondigestible lipids (e.g., liquid paraffin). Unsaturated fat chain length of the lipid likewise impacts drug absorption. Both long and medium chain triglyceride oils with various degrees of saturation have been utilized for the design of self emulsifying formulations. 2. In general, we saw an increase in dry weight of forage by raising the density, but there was no significant difference between 40 and 60 stems per square meter (Table 9) though the trend was on the rise. Elevated density per unit area was directly related to the dry weight, and the highest dry weight yield was obtained at density of 80 stems per square meter; hence, the appropriate planting density is very noteworthy. The researchers have considered repeatedly the importance of determining the appropriate density of alfalfa planting and other crops (Raoofi and Giti, 2015). The results of combined analysis showed that the fresh weight and dry weight were under the influence of cutting, hand weeding and plant density (Table 5). In general, the space was provided for the success of alfalfa forage crop through the weed control, by more favorable taking advantage of resources and conditions and by overcome the ...
