value and how they perceive their quality of life at Sumner House. Based on six individual
interviews, this study identified a number of key capabilities for qualityof life perceived by Sumner
House residents including being healthy, receiving a high quality of care, being safe, being
independent and autonomous, having a social life, and conducting meaningful activities. The
researchfindings suggested that Sumner House provides residents with a range of opportunities to

In this essay two Ancient Greek city states (polies) will be compared and contrasted showing how
despite their differences, they both rose to become predominating powers. Ancient Greece consisted
of many small city states, two of which were Athens and Sparta. Athens was considered the center
