Buddhism Peter Harvey Sexual Yoga
In his Introduction to Buddhism Peter Harvey refers quite openly to sexual yoga, so I will use that
term here.
Tantric Buddhism reevaluates the body, based on the early Buddhist insight that nirvana is realized
through bodily practice. The Guhyasamaja Tantra advocates sexual yoga, including pleasure as the
path to Buddhahood (enjoying desires without attachment requires a far more rigorous discipline than
simple abstinence). Sexual yoga is mostly practiced in the first Tibetan Buddhist school, the Nyingma,
founded by Padmasambhava in the 8th century. Only partners who have years of physical training
may practice sexual yoga. The seminal fluid, symbolizing the bodhicitta, is retained and visualized as
ascending through an energy channel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The essential reality of the phenomenal is always emptiness. This is the ultimate teaching of
interdependent origination. Phenomena themselves do not create suffering, it is craving that reifies
sentient energy into illusory objects of attachment (kinetic and static). Therefore, all energy is
essentially emptiness. Any phenomenon, therefore, can through realization be transmuted from a
factor of ignorance into a factor of enlightenment by the skilled means of quenching desirous
attachment towards it. As Ananda himself states in the Pali Canon, desire disappears entirely when it
is completely satisfied. Therefore, quenching (nirvana) is also the ultimate satisfaction of desire. In
order to realize this in practice one must be very advanced towards the realization of emptiness and
thus emancipation, for anyone else would not be able to overcome attachment and thus intensify even
more one s bondage to rebirth Therefore, by definition only the very advanced yogi can practice
sexual yoga. At the same time, there are also degrees of practice but sexual yoga is certainly not a
simple or an easy practice either to undertake or to be successful

Adoption Research Papers
Intentionally, I m interested in this issue because if this issue can somehow be open to every adopted
individual it can eventually lead to a better understanding of any untold and unanswered questions. It
matters to me because of how it can impact an adopted individual s life to not know valuable
information about yourself that can be a big impact in their future. I feel that it matters to society
because of the unknowingly times it happens in those individual lives. This issue seems to be of
greater importance today because of the difficulty of not having easy access to adoption records that

circumstance of life.

Dollar Tree Essay
Dollar Tree s strategy fits in the prospector s category of Miles and Snow s strategy framework. The
prospector s strategy defines a company as flexible and adaptive to environmental changes (Parnell,
2014). Naturally, in the grocery industry, companies obtain the power to change their strategies to
meet the needs of the challenging economy. The retail sector provides operators with an uncertain
environment due to the many changes and challenges it inquires. Dollar Tree is always looking for
new innovations and products they can add to their product mix. Naturally, as new products enter the
market, Dollar Tree s strategy allows them to accept and sell the new products to customers. Also,
Dollar Tree has always been able to offer a low cost or a single price strategy to their customers which
put stress on their competitors. Furthermore, Dollar tree was the first mover to accept the one price
strategy which is what their brand is known for. Dollar Tree has experience first mover advantages
because they are cheaper than their competitors which increases their overall market share. First

Dollar Tree s prices. However, they are still classified as a low cost strategy user. Dollar General is the

Who Was Responsible For The Sinking Of Titanic
Who was was responsible for the sinking of titanic? This topic is important because it was the biggest
sea disaster and it was one of the biggest events in history. The audience should care because they
should learn the details on this historical event. Captain Smith is responsible for the sinking of Titanic
because he is responsible for the whole ship. This paragraph is my counterclaim. I understand why
people believe that Thomas Andrews was responsible for the sinking of titanic because he didn t
design the boat with enough lifeboats. Also people might believe that Thomas Andrews was
responsible for the sinking of titanic because he sent out the titanic knowing it was a flaw but, I
believe it was Captain Smith because he ignored

Mead On Materialism
According to a sociologist George Herbert Mead, I is one s sense of agency, action or power, while me
is a learned self as perceived as an object by the I . With that definition in mind, it must be recognized
that the clone, whom I acknowledge with pronoun she , may be Sunghye Ji all while not being me .
Even if I was copied to the very last electron, I would not view her life as in the period of existence as
my own, since the consciousness that is writing this essay, or at least struggling to, would not be
present in the clone. Since I cannot reflect on the behaviors and emotions of the clone through
introspection, the clone holds a different identity. She could easily replace me, but would never be me

As multifaceted the word is, there have been ad nauseum amount of arguments regarding what it is
and how it relates to the physical (arguable by idealism) body. This age old topic of discussion have
presented to the public few theories and among them is materialism. Materialism, closely related to
physicalism, states that mind equals the brain; Everything can be fully explained by how the brain
functions. Materialism is associated with reductionism in that the theory simplifies the concept of
mind to neurophysiological terms. Thomas Nagel critiques this notion in his essay What Is It Like To
Be a Bat? (1974). Although he himself believes in materialism, Nagel denies that it was the absolute
solution to the mind body problem. He argues that materialist theories of mind omit the essential
component: what it is like for an organism to be it. The subjective character of conscious experience
can not be understood by anyone outside of the beholder of the consciousness and therefore
undermines reductionists effort to explain consciousness objectively. Accordingly, Nagel concludes
that is the limit of imagination. The clone and I will have exactly the same brain that has encoded my
entire life up to that point. Nevertheless, expecting to read her mind or speak verbatim on her behalf
would be unrealistic. My ability to understand my duplicate is restricted to what I know

Essay On George Washington And Alexander Hamilton
Throughout the history there have been many important people that have help built what we know as
the United States. During their time there were a lot of events that defined these characters to become
the great leaders that they were. In specific George Washington and Alexander Hamilton are the
reason we have some of our commodities and rights nowadays. They went through a lot of criticism
and hard work all for the good of everyone, but hard work pays off; this is why both of these
important characters are in the faces of our current currency.
The Washington administration faced many challenges, the Articles of confederation had many flaws
which brought problems. The new nation government was thought to be weak, one reason being that
the articles of confederation only gave a one house legislature. Which meant that the 13 states had
only one vote on any lawmaking rules and in order for it to pass at least 9 had to be for it. The nation s
debt was also a challenge faced but federalist Alexander Hamilton used his intelligence to use it to his
advantage and to strengthen the power of the federal government. Hamilton came up with Report on

When it comes to the constitutionality of the individual mandate many of the bills supports will look
to the commerce clause and seek justification for its passage. This portion of the debate is not just
about health care, but instead about the scope and power of the federal government; if the courts
decide that the individual mandate is constitutional and therefore grant the federal government the
power to force citizens to buy a product from a private company in order to protect them , then the
existence of the constitution will become negligible. Before the adoption of the constitution the states
were reluctant to ratify it on the basis that they felt that it might grant too much power to the federal
government to which James Madison, the writer of the constitution, wrote The powers delegated by
the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain
in the State governments are numerous and indefinite (Federalist Papers #45). The reasoning behind
the constitution is to limit the power of the federal government not to grant it the complete control
over the lives of all citizens. Supporters will make an argument that people are forced to buy auto
insurance and so there should be nothing stopping congress from

Bernie Madoff Research Paper
In 2008 this country faced one of the worst fraud scams in the history of the United States. Bernie
Madoff one of the most reputable hedge fund managers at the time perpetrated a ponzi scheme of epic
proportions. Bernie Madoff was able to fraud investors of over 25 billion dollars, creating a non
transparent business envoirment. This atrocity effected different types of investors, expanding across
all different industries, and with his transgressions he earned 150 years in jail. Since then regulation in
the accounting and Finance field has increased dramatically, and has made it a lot harder for
companies to get away with cooking the books . Bernie Madoff started his investing days in the 1960s.

Named after Charles Ponzi in 1919 a ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment scam promising high
rates of return with little risk to investors, by taking money from new investors in order to pay older
investors (Investopedia). It all started when Charles Ponzi guaranteed clients that he was able to bring
customer 50 % roi in just 90 days (Business Insider). Madoff received money from new prospective
investors, using the new money he received from investors he payed off old investors, who decided to
stop investing with Madoff. This caused a huge asymmetric rift that favored Madoff greatly, because
his reputation automatically attracted investors to his hedge fund, without investors knowing he was
purposely stealing their money. A question remains why was this able to be to continue for so long?
There are many reasons but to begin Bernie Madoff s reputation helps us answer this question. Bernie
Madoff was a highly regarded financial mind in the industry for many years. He was the chairman of
the Nasdaq, one of the big 3 exchanges in the United States. This brought him to the public eye even
more then he already was. However the big reinforcement to Madoff s credibility was the contionous
backing from the SEC. The SEC gave Madoff even more clout then he already had in the industry.

for an investor hotbed. Madoff;s time was running out however, his consistent success made other
investors/ firms inquisitive about where he received his money

Effects Of Stress On The Body
Memory performance can often be hijacked by a given load of stress on the body. Stress is both a
versatile agent that disrupts the human body s normal mental, physical, and emotional state, and the
body s natural reaction to change (Staal, 2004). The effects of this amorphous phenomenon have been
studied from a number of angles including but not limited to stress related sleep pattern disturbances,
mood swings, attention spans, weight gain, long term illnesses, and cognitive function. This review
will focus on the effects of psychological stress on people s ability to encode, store, and retain
memories. When the human body is presented with a stressful situation, the body enters a state of
emergency called the fight or flight response, also known as the acute stress response. Involuntarily,
the body s sympathetic nervous system is aroused and releases adrenaline, norepinephrine, and
cortisol from the adrenal glands of the brain. These hormones trigger a series of physiological
responses facilitating acceleration in heart rate and breathing, constriction of blood vessels, relaxed
bladder, inhibition of metabolic digestion, tightened muscles, and sharper vision due to pupil dilation.
This is a result of the human body instinctively protecting itself from threat of pain or injury by
shutting down all of the nonessential systems, and supplying the bodily systems needed to respond to
the emergency with its necessary components, like sufficient amounts of oxygen and

Compare And Contrast Dulce Et Decorum And Who s For The Game
The two World War I based poems Dulce et Decorum by Wilfred Owen, and Who s for the Game? by
Jessie Pope convey two different views on World War I. Dulce et Decorum by Wilfred Owen, is being

him. The soldier realizes that war is a lie and the phrase Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori is also a
big lie, the poem s only purpose is to be aimed toward children or young men who desperately want

Frames In Frank Luntz s Words Of Work
Frames are important because they help us emerge into a world or culture which we might not be
familiar with. Frames help us understand the different perspectives people have. It is important to note
that frames come from language. In his book Words that Work , Frank Luntz describes frames as the
context of any message (Luntz, p.26). He goes on to say that context, or framing, is important because
it explains the why of a message: without context, you cannot establish a message s value, its impact,
or most importantly, its relevance (Luntz, p.26). Naming is a crucial aspect when discussing frames, as
these can influence how an individual perceives a certain idea or political policy. In class, we watched

when I decided to try a different nudging by remaining silent whenever she was around. Her frames

going on around her. However, she did not take cues of the nudging, and apparently is not familiar

Now, imagine that millions of customers do the same deviousness. I don t think that it will only

media page which could affect the quality service of a hospitality group: actualization. Yes, if it doesn
t actualize its page, customers would be able to think, that the hospitality company, doesn t pay
attention to them. As a result, it will have a lot of repercussions on the quality provided by the hotel,
such as the argument of the competitor with a social page. And of course, we have to raise another
point about the idea of actualization. Yes, to update the page, someone is required. It means that a firm
must pay a new employee to develop, update and actualize the social media page. In other words, it
means: a loss of money, less benefits. To conclude, hospitality companies, have big interests to create
their own social page. But, they have to anticipate at all costs the drawbacks created by these networks
and pay attention to this terrible vicious circle which can push them to their loss, to their decline. This

Helen Keller Contributions
A global citizen is someone who represents resilience, values diversity, recognizes social injustice and
works towards changing it. All of these values were thoroughly represented by the personality of and
the life lead by Miss Helen Keller. Despite the fact that she was left permanently both deaf and blind
at the age of 19 months she overcame numerous challenges and learned to communicate, eventually
earning a degree from one of the leading universities in the United States. In doing so she represented
the first quality of global citizenship, resiliency. Helen Keller was a huge believer in the ability of all
people to do great things in the world. She believed that no matter what your disabilities be it
deafness, blindness, amputation or otherwise you could do great things, and thus she represented the
second quality of global citizenship, believing in the value of diversity. Helen Keller was a major
social activist for the disabled community of the 20th century, she contributed to the recognition and
support of them in numerous ways, from causing braille to become the world s standard alphabet for
the blind to being one of the founders of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Helen helped
countless numbers of people and inspired countless more. Helen Keller s actions truly made her one of
the greatest global citizens of the 20th century and arguably all time.

Essay about Economics Question and Answers
Chapter 1: The Power of Markets
What are the two basic assumptions that economists make about individuals and firms?
Economists have two basic assumptions which keeps the economy in check. One is that people try to
make themselves as versatile as possible maximizing their overall potential. The other is that a firm
would do what it needs to make the most profit possible.
What is the role and significance of prices in the market economy? Prices in a market economy are
very important. Price allows us to give out goods appropriately to those who are able to pay.

Chapter 4: Government and the Economy II
What are the main reasons why government should take only a limited role in a market economy?
There are many reasons why government should have a light touch in market economies. Some
government programs may be to costly and in the end backfire if not planned through thoroughly or
may of even been thought up by corrupt politicians. The government also makes the struggle as a poor
family harder to bare as taxes are more often then not, in the government, in favor of keeping the
money where it is.
Chapter 5: Economics of Information
Basic economic models assume that all parties have perfect information. How does informational
asymmetry undermine our market economy?
Information asymmetry is great for some and awful for others. It also leads to rational and irrational
discrimination. For example, it could lead to hiring a male over female, a Caucasian over African
American, and other discriminatory decisions, in these cases are understandable.(Women have
maternity leave; African Americans are 28% more likely to of gone to jail.)

The Theme Of Where The Red Corn Grows
Where the Red Fern grows
A novel by Wilson Rawls named Where the Red Fern Grows
is the story of a boy, his two hounds (which he named Old Dan and
Little Ann), and all of the adventures they shared together. A
loving threesome, they ranged the dark hills and river bottoms of
the Cherokee country. Old Dan had the brawn, Little Ann had the
brains, and Billy had the will to train them to be the finest hunting
team in the valley. Glory and victory awaited them, but sadness
waited too. Close by was the strange and wonderful power that is

One example shown was when Billy worked and worked for two whole years
selling accessories to fisherman. After two years he finally saved up enough money to
buy his hounds, which was an excellent reward for hard work. An additional example is
when Billy took a long, hard, and hot journey barefoot alone to Tahlequah. He faces
bullies and is afraid to turn every corner knowing something unknown will be lurking
behind the walls but in the end, he received his hounds and was very happy for what he
accomplished but for the most part he was happy that he got his hounds. Another
example explained in the novel was when Billy got his hounds and he trained the and
taught them all of the tricks he knew. After hard training his hounds (Old Dan and Little
Ann) became the finest hounds in the Ozark mountain ranges. They went hunting every
night and skinned many coons. One more example is when Little Ann got trapped in the
icy river and Billy and Old Dan worked to get Little Ann out but all of that work was
worth the life of Little Ann. Finally, after all the hard work put into his hounds, Billy s
grandfather came to him with an invitation to a coon hunting tournament. Billy was full
of zest when he knew he was going to go to a coon hunting tournament. He proved he

Analysis Of The Great Gatsby
Ms.Seda Joseph Rosendo PD 5 May 3, 2016 At the end of the novel of The Great Gatsby, Nick
recounts all the things that had just occurred and says I see now that this has been a story of the West,
after all Tom and Gatsby, Daisy and Jordan and I, were all Westerners, and perhaps we possessed
some deficiency in common which made us subtly unadaptable to Eastern life. Nick says it was a
story of the West because they all had the common trait of being lured and accustomed into the
Eastern style instead of their origins in the West. The West proven to not be the preferable home of
each of these characters, as they all made the decision to move to the East. On the East, where there
was a rapid and growing dream of wealth and prosperity. Once they achieve this, they think they can
do what ever they want, after all they have gotten the classic American dream so now what is there to
achieve? Although the wealthy should hold high profile images, much trouble is caused by them as
portrayed by some of the main characters in the book. Tom, Gatsby and Daisy are each characters that
couldn t adapt to Eastern life. Each went through different fates, but all with the common deficiency
of being affected negatively by Eastern life and portray an overall story of their lives rooted from the
West. First, there is Tom Buchanan, who came from Chicago and went to college with Nick. At the

A Brief Look at Igor Sikorsky
Igor Sikorsky widened the field of aviation throughout his life with inventions that caught the interest
of the world. In the early 1920 s, after successfully building a four engine biplane, Sikorsky began his
work on amphibian aircraft. The aircraft proved to be versatile with its ability to take off and land on
an airstrip or in the water. Sikorsky increased the size and maximum range of his designs until
producing the S 42 Flying Clipper. His line of amphibian planes became the precursor to commercial
transoceanic flight. He played an important role in both the introduction of amphibian aircraft and its
transition into commercial aviation. Sikorsky also contributed heavily to the development of the
helicopter and research of rotary flight design. His design concept that had one main lifting rotor in
combination with a smaller rotor to counteract torque is still used in modern helicopters. The
helicopters maneuverability and ability to lift off vertically allowed it to fly into and out of terrain not
fit for normal aircraft. He designed the R 4 which became widely produced and utilized by the
military mainly for delivery of supplies and search and rescue. The company he began in New York,
now called Sikorsky Aircraft, produced the S 70 Black Hawk helicopter in response to the Army s
need for a durable transport helicopter in 1972. Sikorsky Aircraft manufactured over 900 aircraft for
the Army by the end of 1989 and a family of helicopters spawned from variations of the

Essay on Alexanders divinity
What evidence is there that Alexander may have believed that he was of divine descent? And how
convincing would this evidence have appeared to one of his followers?
From studying the sources of the ancient world that talk about Alexander The Great, it is clear that
many of them present Alexander as being some type of heroic figure or Demi god. However you could
question whether Alexander believed this himself. Only by studying his actions and the actions of
those around him can we draw any type of conclusion on this matter. This can be done through the use
of sources that exist from the time of and around his death. Most of these sources have been lost or are

So this may be why he visited the temple, not out of any personal belief that he was descended from
Ammon, but instead, out of a sense of duty or to appear to be taking the fact that he was made Pharaoh
by the Egyptian people as being a great honour. More over by visiting the temple he would be making
his Egyptian subjects happy. Arrian further states that other accounts say that Alexander went to the
temple so that he could gain Ammon s approval before founding Alexandria. This would seem
plausible since, although there is question whether or not Alexander believed that he was of divine
descent, it cannot be doubted that he took worship of the gods very seriously. And he would most
certainly want a god of Ammon s statures approval on something as important as the founding of
Alexandria.
Later Arrian states that when Alexander arrived at the temple, the priest answered the question of his
divinity by greeting him as son of Ammon . This is, by Arrian s wording, what his heart desired . This
would once again indicate that both he and others around him did truly believe that he was of divine
descent. Although Arrian is somewhat sceptical as to whether Alexander truly did crave this answer or
if that is just what he said because it is what other people wanted to hear.
Plutarch writes that some accounts say that when Alexander entered the temple the priest wished to

The Impact Of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle s Lasting Impact

Comparing Rear Window And Cornell Woolrich s It Had To Be...
Genres are not systems, they are a process of systematisation. (Neale 1980). Genres are both a method
of nomenclature, dividing literature according to its style, subject and context. Genre constantly re
imagines, challenges, and expands its boundaries to reflect zeitgeist of the society at the time and to
become a barometer of the social and cultural concerns of the audience. Likewise, crime fiction as a
genre has evolved from traditional conventions. Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window and Cornell
Woolrich s It had to be Murder, whilst obeying and selectively utilising a few original conventions,
manifest the ideology and social concerns of the postwar 1950s society in aspects of the modus
operandi of the investigation, gender roles and the shift ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, Lisa Fremont, Jefferies lover, whilst staying true to the convention of an intuitive, female
detective, also explores the role of female companions by acting as a physical extension for Jefferies.
She employs acts of sleuthing by bravely acquiring key evidence such as the wedding ring, while
disregarding her safety. The shot of Thorwald s violence against Lisa is captured with long shot
technique in the film Rear Window. This again reminds the audience that they are seeing through
Jefferies eyes and reinforces the need for a physical sidekick to assist the crippled immobile
protagonist. Hitchcock reflects on the late First Wave Feminism movement in the 1950s, by placing
women in more active and dominant roles when solving crimes, highlighting the growing roles of
women in society (Gender.cawater info.net, n.d.). Woolrich in his story, It Had to murder, replaces
both Lisa and Stella with a male character Sam. This delineating adherence to traditional gender roles,
disregarding the value of female intuition.. Whilst Rear Window employs the conventional
characterisation of females in Golden Age crime fiction, It Had to be Murder subverts these, adhering
to the traditional roles, reflecting resistance to female rights in

Essay about The Theme of Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill
In the story Miss Brill, an old, lonely lady spends her Sunday observing people in a park. Although
ignored by everyone around her, Miss Brill manages to convince herself that she is really an integral
part of the scene and would be missed if she weren t there. Her illusion is shattered by a chance
remark at the end of the story, and she returns home, clearly devastated by her new understanding of
her place in life. What this story is trying to illustrate is that sometimes people can be happy through
living in an illusion. However, this kind of happiness is fragile and can be easily destroyed.

However, her enjoyment is more than a passing mood. It s actually an indication of a deeper emotion a
kind of happiness. This becomes clear after Miss Brill has paid close attention to several small
exchanges between people at the park. Oh how fascinating it was! How she enjoyed it! How she loved
sitting here, watching it all! (99). That Miss Brill does not actually participate in anything is clear to
the reader, but not to her. Vicarious involvement in other people s lives seems to be fulfilling for her,
even though there is no actual interplay with others. The most telling evidence that Miss Brill is happy
(and that her happiness is based on a false impression) is when she comes to the conclusion that she s
somehow needed at the park. No doubt somebody would have noticed if she hadn t been there; she
was part of the performance after all... Miss Brill nearly laughed out loud (100). This realization

Van Gogh s Starry Night
In Vincent Van Gogh s Starry Night there are many aspects of the artwork that are symbolic of Van
Gogh s life struggles. It is easy for the viewer to assume that the aspects of Starry Night represent van
Gogh s time in the asylum, however, not all aspects represent his insanity and isolation. Starry Night is
van Gogh s representation of his biography inspired by his loss of faith, which can be seen and
supported by the symbols of the church and the stars. It is fair to say van Gogh was not in a good
emotional place when he painted Starry Night. On May 8th 1889, van Gogh entered the hospital of St.
Paul de Mausole at St. Rémy because of his mental instability. He did not leave for many weeks
therefore he was able to devote the majority of his time to his paintings. van Gogh painted Starry
Night in June between 16 18. The mountains are the ones he could see from his cell window but are
exaggerated to reflect this idea of another world or religion that he had connected with in the past
(Soth). According to James Elkins, van Gogh had very passionate, if not obscure, thoughts about how
his art worked as religion (Elkins 12). Many scholars can see the relationship but it is not evident to
the common eye. There is definitely a relationship that ties Starry Night to van Gogh s spiritual life,
but it is the loss of his spiritual life that influenced this piece of artwork. In Starry Night (figure 1)
there is a church that is not based off the church in the town of St. Rémy

The Effects Of Sex Hormones On The Development Of...
Abstract
Gender differences have been recorded by researches from single neurons in the cell to system level
processes (Cahill 2006), and certain scientists proposed that sex hormones influence the development
of prefrontal cortex, and this is supposed to be the cause of the differences in working memory
performance (Duff Hampson, 2001). This study further investigated the existence and nature of this
gender difference. A sample of 497 Monash University psychology undergraduates (385 females and
112 males; ages 18 64) were recruited for this study. Working memory performance was tested with
online spatial working memory test, and 2D:4D finger length ratio was used as an indirect measure of
sex hormone levels. The results revealed no sex differences in the working memory performance, but
variance in 2D:4D ratio females had a larger ratio than males. Memory reaction time was negatively
correlated with 2D:4D ratio, thus, females had a quicker reaction time.
Introduction
Differences related to gender in spatial memory are most widely described and studied of cognitive
sex differences. In 1974 Maccoby and Jacklin established that males usually perform better than
females in measures of spatial performance, and this discovery has been constantly replicated in
multiple studies covering various developmental stages (McGivern et al. 1997; Lewin et al. 2001) and

Aristotle And Aristotle On Education
2.2.2 Aristotle (384 322 BC)
Another great influence on Education was the Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle who came
later after Confucius, who was born in Stagira, Chalcidice. Aristotle was first a student in Plato s

writings about Aristotle on the Necessity of Public Education and Burnet from his writings about
Aristotle on Education: Being Extracts From the Ethics and Politics found in the Encyclopedia ,
Aristotle deceased from the existing idea of childhood in Greek antiquity at that time, just like his
teacher Plato. That philosophy was about children being educated as small adults, and so they were

According to Aristotle, the goal of education is to struggle to achieve the greatest goodness and
happiness being a member in a city. Most of his philosophy about educating children could be found

  • 2. Buddhism Peter Harvey Sexual Yoga In his Introduction to Buddhism Peter Harvey refers quite openly to sexual yoga, so I will use that term here. Tantric Buddhism reevaluates the body, based on the early Buddhist insight that nirvana is realized through bodily practice. The Guhyasamaja Tantra advocates sexual yoga, including pleasure as the path to Buddhahood (enjoying desires without attachment requires a far more rigorous discipline than simple abstinence). Sexual yoga is mostly practiced in the first Tibetan Buddhist school, the Nyingma, founded by Padmasambhava in the 8th century. Only partners who have years of physical training may practice sexual yoga. The seminal fluid, symbolizing the bodhicitta, is retained and visualized as ascending through an energy channel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The essential reality of the phenomenal is always emptiness. This is the ultimate teaching of interdependent origination. Phenomena themselves do not create suffering, it is craving that reifies sentient energy into illusory objects of attachment (kinetic and static). Therefore, all energy is essentially emptiness. Any phenomenon, therefore, can through realization be transmuted from a factor of ignorance into a factor of enlightenment by the skilled means of quenching desirous attachment towards it. As Ananda himself states in the Pali Canon, desire disappears entirely when it is completely satisfied. Therefore, quenching (nirvana) is also the ultimate satisfaction of desire. In order to realize this in practice one must be very advanced towards the realization of emptiness and thus emancipation, for anyone else would not be able to overcome attachment and thus intensify even more one s bondage to rebirth Therefore, by definition only the very advanced yogi can practice sexual yoga. At the same time, there are also degrees of practice but sexual yoga is certainly not a simple or an easy practice either to undertake or to be successful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With that definition in mind, it must be recognized that the clone, whom I acknowledge with pronoun she , may be Sunghye Ji all while not being me . Even if I was copied to the very last electron, I would not view her life as in the period of existence as my own, since the consciousness that is writing this essay, or at least struggling to, would not be present in the clone. As multifaceted the word is, there have been ad nauseum amount of arguments regarding what it is and how it relates to the physical (arguable by idealism) body. This age old topic of discussion have presented to the public few theories and among them is materialism. Materialism, closely related to physicalism, states that mind equals the brain; Everything can be fully explained by how the brain functions. Materialism is associated with reductionism in that the theory simplifies the concept of mind to neurophysiological terms. Thomas Nagel critiques this notion in his essay What Is It Like To Be a Bat? (1974). Although he himself believes in materialism, Nagel denies that it was the absolute solution to the mind body problem. He argues that materialist theories of mind omit the essential component: what it is like for an organism to be it. The subjective character of conscious experience can not be understood by anyone outside of the beholder of the consciousness and therefore undermines reductionists effort to explain consciousness objectively. Accordingly, Nagel concludes that is the limit of imagination. The clone and I will have exactly the same brain that has encoded my entire life up to that point. During their time there were a lot of events that defined these characters to become the great leaders that they were. In specific George Washington and Alexander Hamilton are the reason we have some of our commodities and rights nowadays. They went through a lot of criticism and hard work all for the good of everyone, but hard work pays off; this is why both of these important characters are in the faces of our current currency. The Washington administration faced many challenges, the Articles of confederation had many flaws which brought problems. The new nation government was thought to be weak, one reason being that the articles of confederation only gave a one house legislature. Which meant that the 13 states had only one vote on any lawmaking rules and in order for it to pass at least 9 had to be for it. When it comes to the constitutionality of the individual mandate many of the bills supports will look to the commerce clause and seek justification for its passage. This portion of the debate is not just about health care, but instead about the scope and power of the federal government; if the courts decide that the individual mandate is constitutional and therefore grant the federal government the power to force citizens to buy a product from a private company in order to protect them , then the existence of the constitution will become negligible. Before the adoption of the constitution the states were reluctant to ratify it on the basis that they felt that it might grant too much power to the federal government to which James Madison, the writer of the constitution, wrote The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite (Federalist Papers #45). • 11. Effects Of Stress On The Body Memory performance can often be hijacked by a given load of stress on the body. Stress is both a versatile agent that disrupts the human body s normal mental, physical, and emotional state, and the body s natural reaction to change (Staal, 2004). The effects of this amorphous phenomenon have been studied from a number of angles including but not limited to stress related sleep pattern disturbances, mood swings, attention spans, weight gain, long term illnesses, and cognitive function. This review will focus on the effects of psychological stress on people s ability to encode, store, and retain memories. When the human body is presented with a stressful situation, the body enters a state of emergency called the fight or flight response, also known as the acute stress response. Involuntarily, the body s sympathetic nervous system is aroused and releases adrenaline, norepinephrine, and cortisol from the adrenal glands of the brain. These hormones trigger a series of physiological responses facilitating acceleration in heart rate and breathing, constriction of blood vessels, relaxed bladder, inhibition of metabolic digestion, tightened muscles, and sharper vision due to pupil dilation. This is a result of the human body instinctively protecting itself from threat of pain or injury by shutting down all of the nonessential systems, and supplying the bodily systems needed to respond to the emergency with its necessary components, like sufficient amounts of oxygen and ... The aircraft proved to be versatile with its ability to take off and land on an airstrip or in the water. Sikorsky increased the size and maximum range of his designs until producing the S 42 Flying Clipper. His line of amphibian planes became the precursor to commercial transoceanic flight. He played an important role in both the introduction of amphibian aircraft and its transition into commercial aviation. His design concept that had one main lifting rotor in combination with a smaller rotor to counteract torque is still used in modern helicopters. The helicopters maneuverability and ability to lift off vertically allowed it to fly into and out of terrain not fit for normal aircraft. Arrian further states that other accounts say that Alexander went to the temple so that he could gain Ammon s approval before founding Alexandria. This would seem plausible since, although there is question whether or not Alexander believed that he was of divine descent, it cannot be doubted that he took worship of the gods very seriously. This again reminds the audience that they are seeing through Jefferies eyes and reinforces the need for a physical sidekick to assist the crippled immobile protagonist. Hitchcock reflects on the late First Wave Feminism movement in the 1950s, by placing women in more active and dominant roles when solving crimes, highlighting the growing roles of women in society (Gender.cawater info.net, n.d.). Woolrich in his story, It Had to murder, replaces both Lisa and Stella with a male character Sam. This delineating adherence to traditional gender roles, disregarding the value of female intuition.. Whilst Rear Window employs the conventional characterisation of females in Golden Age crime fiction, It Had to be Murder subverts these, adhering to the traditional roles, reflecting resistance to female rights in ... • 32. Essay about The Theme of Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill In the story Miss Brill, an old, lonely lady spends her Sunday observing people in a park. Although ignored by everyone around her, Miss Brill manages to convince herself that she is really an integral part of the scene and would be missed if she weren t there. Her illusion is shattered by a chance remark at the end of the story, and she returns home, clearly devastated by her new understanding of her place in life. What this story is trying to illustrate is that sometimes people can be happy through living in an illusion. However, this kind of happiness is fragile and can be easily destroyed. Unfortunately, modern society does not provide a place for everyone. Inevitably, there are those people, often elderly, who become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was; she lifted her head and smiled (98). Even if she s only an observer, Miss Brill is an involved observer. She draws enjoyment from simply being in the park atmosphere. However, her enjoyment is more than a passing mood. It s actually an indication of a deeper emotion a kind of happiness. This becomes clear after Miss Brill has paid close attention to several small exchanges between people at the park. Oh how fascinating it was! How she enjoyed it! How she loved sitting here, watching it all! (99). That Miss Brill does not actually participate in anything is clear to the reader, but not to her. Vicarious involvement in other people s lives seems to be fulfilling for her, even though there is no actual interplay with others. The most telling evidence that Miss Brill is happy (and that her happiness is based on a false impression) is when she comes to the conclusion that she s somehow needed at the park. No doubt somebody would have noticed if she hadn t been there; she was part of the performance after all... Miss Brill nearly laughed out loud (100). Various experiences and fields of knowledge that he is familiar with, play upon his mind and form a new compound which hardly bears any resemblance to the original sources. An Indian critic or reader with his knowledge of and sympathy for Indian culture is more likely to be able to feel the Indian echoes. • 40. Van Gogh s Starry Night In Vincent Van Gogh s Starry Night there are many aspects of the artwork that are symbolic of Van Gogh s life struggles. It is easy for the viewer to assume that the aspects of Starry Night represent van Gogh s time in the asylum, however, not all aspects represent his insanity and isolation. Starry Night is van Gogh s representation of his biography inspired by his loss of faith, which can be seen and supported by the symbols of the church and the stars. It is fair to say van Gogh was not in a good emotional place when he painted Starry Night. On May 8th 1889, van Gogh entered the hospital of St. Paul de Mausole at St. Rémy because of his mental instability. He did not leave for many weeks therefore he was able to devote the majority of his time to his paintings. van Gogh painted Starry Night in June between 16 18. The mountains are the ones he could see from his cell window but are exaggerated to reflect this idea of another world or religion that he had connected with in the past (Soth). According to James Elkins, van Gogh had very passionate, if not obscure, thoughts about how his art worked as religion (Elkins 12). Many scholars can see the relationship but it is not evident to the common eye. There is definitely a relationship that ties Starry Night to van Gogh s spiritual life, but it is the loss of his spiritual life that influenced this piece of artwork. The novel takes a firm stance on morality, and punishes the characters who make bad moral choices. Many of the characters in the novel have very blurred morals; however, the main character Roy Hobbs must make the most moral choices. Roy s dream at the beginning of the novel is to be the best baseball player to ever play the game. He has the natural talent to accomplish this, but his poor choices hinder him. In an attempt to get this money, he accepts Judge Banner s bribe to throw the most important game of the season. Although he has a change of heart midway through the game, Roy is unable to win the game for his team. At the end of the novel, Roy has failed to become the best to ever play the game because of his own choices. He realizes that he made the same mistakes multiple times and says, I never did learn anything out of my past life, now I have to suffer again (pg 230). This is a clear example of the novel s stance on morality; because Roy fell into temptation, he fails to accomplish his dream. This suffering was Malamud s purpose for creating Roy Hobbs (American novel). • 42. The Effects Of Sex Hormones On The Development Of... Abstract Gender differences have been recorded by researches from single neurons in the cell to system level processes (Cahill 2006), and certain scientists proposed that sex hormones influence the development of prefrontal cortex, and this is supposed to be the cause of the differences in working memory performance (Duff Hampson, 2001). This study further investigated the existence and nature of this gender difference. A sample of 497 Monash University psychology undergraduates (385 females and 112 males; ages 18 64) were recruited for this study. Working memory performance was tested with online spatial working memory test, and 2D:4D finger length ratio was used as an indirect measure of sex hormone levels. The results revealed no sex differences in the working memory performance, but variance in 2D:4D ratio females had a larger ratio than males. Memory reaction time was negatively correlated with 2D:4D ratio, thus, females had a quicker reaction time. Introduction Differences related to gender in spatial memory are most widely described and studied of cognitive sex differences. In 1974 Maccoby and Jacklin established that males usually perform better than females in measures of spatial performance, and this discovery has been constantly replicated in multiple studies covering various developmental stages (McGivern et al. 1997; Lewin et al. 2001) and spatial tasks (Dabbs Jr. et al. 1998; Driscoll et al. 2005). • 43. Aristotle And Aristotle On Education 2.2.2 Aristotle (384 322 BC) Another great influence on Education was the Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle who came later after Confucius, who was born in Stagira, Chalcidice. Aristotle was first a student in Plato s philosophy school for around twenty years. Later on he was a philosophy teacher in Atarneus which is located in Asia Minor. Aristotle is known for his school named Lyceum which is located in Athens, and he is also known for teaching Alexander the Great who can later. According to Curren from his writings about Aristotle on the Necessity of Public Education and Burnet from his writings about Aristotle on Education: Being Extracts From the Ethics and Politics found in the Encyclopedia , Aristotle deceased from the existing idea of childhood in Greek antiquity at that time, just like his teacher Plato. That philosophy was about children being educated as small adults, and so they were taught with adult literature considering their minds as able to absorb and task like those of the adults. According to Aristotle, the goal of education is to struggle to achieve the greatest goodness and happiness being a member in a city. Most of his philosophy about educating children could be found in the Nicomachean Ethics and Politics; and here he relates to politics as he considers human beings naturally to be political.
