Satire in Moliere s and Swift s writings
World literature represents a rich heritage of the various nations. The writings teach readers diverse
aspects of the man s life. Some pieces of literature are dramatic or tragic while the other one are
comedian, but they all purpose one object to be an instance and educate the public. Among all the
writers, two great authors represent satire in their works in different ways. Moliere Tartuffe is
considered to be the writing with less effective satire because comedic element may not be taken
seriously; meanwhile, Swifts A Modest Proposal is defined to possess more effective satire due to real

The writer suggests to serve the children of the poor people on the table. They should be sold to the
well to do people as delicious food. In such a way Swift arises the problem of poverty in his country
together with exploitation of the cheap labour.
The author thinks of the Irish and English landowners who kill their people with misery and poverty.
The writer provides a list of all the possible choices to resolve the situation on poverty in Ireland. He

expensiveness of pride, vanity, idleness, and gaming in our women; Of introducing a vein of
parsimony, prudence and temperance; Of learning to love our country; Of quitting our animosities and
factions, nor acting any longer like those who were murdering one another at the very moment their
city was taken; Of being a little cautious not to sell our country and conscience for nothing; Lastly, of

Characteristics Of The High Renaissance
This research paper looks at the High Renaissance and the artists that it had produced during this
period. During this time period there were three individuals that had dominated the art world. These
three artists are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Even though this paper discusses
about the High Renaissance and the three who dominated it, the main focus of the paper is on
Leonardo Da Vinci. Even though he mad such famous paintings, he was not a prolific painter; he was
prolific draftsman as well as a great engineer, architect, inventor, and scientist. Besides having many
famous paintings, Da Vinci also had thousands of drawings, sketches, and doodles that he is famous
for. The drawings contained many notes of what he was interested. There are drawings of the study of
the human body, of his inventions and just things he see is interesting. In art history, the High
Renaissance period refers to a short period in which there was an exceptional artistic production in the
Italian states. The reason why this part of the Reniasance period is called the High Renaissance is
because it has been seen as the time in which the artistic aim and goals of the Renaissance has reached
their greatest application (n.d.). The High Renaissance style was the dominant art style during 16th
century Italy. Many historians believe that three individuals dominated this time period of art. These
individuals are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The oldest of the three was Leonardo
Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vinci was a universal genius. He was not only just the best painter of the world at the
time, but he was also known as a great inventor, architect, engineer and scientist. Even though he was
great in many fields, he is mostly known from his achievements as the painter of many famous
Renaissance art masterpieces.
Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 near the village of Vinci, which is 25 miles away from Florence.
Da Vinci was the illegitimate son of a local of Florence and a prominent notary Florence, Ser Piero Da
Vinci. Not much of his childhood is known, but as a teen he became an apprentice of Andrea del
Verrochio, the leading artist of Florence and the early Reniassance (2017). Later on Leonardo

The Individuals With Disabilities Education Act Orders
The Individuals With Disabilities Education Act orders all states to give disabled students a free and
appropriate education. Many schools in the United States mainstream disabled students and have
succeeded in properly educating them, along with creating a safe environment where they are socially
comfortable and accepted. However, there are too many incidents where teachers improperly handle
these students and administrators do not give enough money to fund adequate supplies for these
students. Although disabled students gain social benefits when mainstreamed, they ultimately do not
thrive in such settings due to immoral methods and insufficient budgets. In academic settings, disabled
students have access to more opportunities and many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most importantly, children with disabilities have the opportunities to observe, imitate and model the
language use of their peers who do not have disabilities (Grabmeier). By following their nondisabled
friends, disabled students learn how to better communicate their thoughts, feelings and ideas which
makes it easier for teachers to help them and understand them. Another beneficial skill disabled
students receive through mainstreaming is positive thinking. According to Kathy Foust, the
mainstreaming environment allows disabled students to learn what type of behavior is appropriate and
what is not. They learn that listening to a teacher leads to little or no punishments while disobeying a
teacher leads to more punishments. Foust also includes that mainstreaming stimulates self esteem
because the disabled know they are in regular classes, which makes them proud of themselves. These
students believe that since they are in classrooms with nondisabled students, they are in higher and
more advance classes. In other words, since students around the disabled are capable of extraordinary
things, the disabled feel like they are extraordinary as well, thus having an improved self esteem. The

AME Pastor Interview Report
INTRODUCTION
It was 20 April 2014, I had just finished preaching my first sermon on Easter Sunday as the newly
appointed pastor of New Creation AME Church, and as I looked around at an empty church with 20
people in a facility that could hold 250 people, instantly my heart sunk and my spirit became vexed as
the frustration of the moment slowly began to sink in. Admittedly, I almost burst out into hysterical
laughter when I thought about how I had been hoodwinked into believing that I was being assigned to
a congregation of 109 members. There I was standing as the newly appointed leader in a deteriorating
two story church that was being leased for an absorbent amount with less than $2000 dollars in the
treasury and a separate list of bills ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought and prayed over the next several weeks and honestly I complained and vented to few of my
pastoral colleagues about the situation; but the truth of the matter was that they too needed consoling
given the fact that they also were struggling with similar battles. Then it dawned on me, why was I
complaining? I thought to myself, if I was truly called to ministry by God then anything I place my
hand upon can and would be blessed. That is, only if I would begin to exercise greater faith and trust
in God; shedding my disbelief only to dawn a new outlook on the path of church leadership. After all,
God has place unique and specially gifts inside the hearts and spirits of all of his children. It was from
that moment that I began to pray and talked with God with frequency taking to heart the words written
in the Gospel of Matthew 6:21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be,
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also . I had not consider the heart of God nor the
hearts of the people of New Creation. I had been looking for treasure with my eyes,

Characteristics Of The Mayan Civilizations
There are many different types of civilizations. Three major ones are the Aztec, Maya, and Inca .
These different civilizations play a very important role in history today. The Maya empire was highly
skilled at building and architecture. They also were the only empire in mesoamerica to develop a
complete writing system. The Maya were also highly skilled at agriculture and farming. The Maya
were by far the most advanced and smart civilization. The Maya empire was very precise and exact
when it came to architecture. Mayans built their cities with all of the important buildings in the middle
such as palaces and temples. The homes and other small buildings were located on the outside. This

Maya writing is in a way similar to modern Japanese writing used today. The hieroglyphic writing was
carved in a series of squares on the wall with a sharp tool created by the Mayan people. Scientists and
archaeologists today are able to understand some, but not all of Mayan hieroglyphics. This civilization
also wrote in books. These books were made of leaves, bark, or leather and glued together with a
stucco layer. These types of books were often protected with animal skin or wooden boards. All of
these facts conclude that the Mayan writing was much more advanced and intricate than other
civilizations. Agriculture or farming played a very important role in the ancient Mayan civilization.
The mayans were smart and used the calendar, sun, and the seasons to grow specific crops. Back when
framing first started they always grew way too much food. As a result, they ended up trading their
crops for items. However, at one point in time farming did become somewhat difficult for the Mayans.
As the population grew, farmers found it ever more difficult to grow enough food to feed the growing
population. (Linn Don, Maya Empire Agriculture). Farming was not easy in the Maya region, it was
difficult because of the climate, and land. The soil was bad, there was few water sources, and the
forests were very dense and big. However, the Mayans were smart enough to develop a way of
farming. Mayan agriculture was different in every city state because of the unique land. In

In this real world paper, I researched a case study of Swedish company and its subsidiary in China. In
this case study, there are different management styles, employee behaviors and communication ways
found between Swedish and Chinese. Both Sweden and China are trying to manage different ways of
thinking and behavior while they are communicating with each other. Therefore, both side of the
company are having a hard time with cross cultural challenges.
The Sweden culture tends to be a country in the lower power distance while China is a high power
distance country. There is an example of high power distance orientation of China. Swedish company

It is another example show the conflict base on individualism vs. collectivism between Swedish and
China. The technical product manager from Swedish company was asking a model for a new product;
however, he got a message written there was a 1mm error of the product they made and asked what
they should do? The manager from Swedish does not understand why the Chinese employee ask him
what should they do instead of adjust the error by themselves. Base on the individual of Swedish, they
would usually manager themselves to make own decision on most of the issues. On the other hand,
Chinese are more collective and most of the decisions would make through discussion with others.
Even though the Chinese managers know that they would need to adjust a new model at the end, they
still decide to notify there is a problem and wait for Swedish manager instruction.
The differences between Chinese and Swedish cultures continue to affect multinational business
development if they do not resolve it. Cross cultural conflicts usually caused by cultural differences of
the company s strategic decisions; in addition, it will disrupt the operation of the enterprise program

To light the candle means to see the world full of opportunities for engagement and growth, to see
potential in every person and every idea. To help every one of us to connect with our best selves, and
to truly become an Or Lagoyim a shining light to every nation of the world. More than a congregation,
a kehila kadosha a sacred, holy community.
I became a rabbi because I believe with all my heart that we have this potential. At times a rabbi might
hold the candle to illuminate the dark, but most of the time we search for it together. Judaism inspires
me to be a better person, and when I teach whether it is with one Bat Mitzvah student or a room full of
committee members Judaism inspires each of us to grow, to treat each other with kindness, patience
and respect: to find the light.
Judaism can inspire us to create the kind of holy community that I see here at IHC. My family has
been welcomed with open arms by a caring staff, caring board, brotherhood and

sisterhood who have prepared meals for us and visited us at home even a transition committee that has
outdone itself with support during our move to Indianapolis. I tried to express to one staff member just
how rare it is for a community come together in this way, and she replied, that s just the way we do it

The Diesel Hybrid Combustion Engine Essay
The Diesel Hybrid Combustion Engine
Two main types of engines powering everyday machinery are diesel and gasoline internal combustion
engines. Both vary on efficiency levels, but are still effective. Diesel engines have high efficiency
levels, such as producing great amount of torque at very low rpms. They are also known for their fuel
efficient behavior and capability to produce low emissions.
Their capability to produce power at an efficient rate with little wear on the engine, this makes these
engines ideal for hybrid integration. Hybrid integration takes a typical engine and combines it with an
electric generator and motor, with the application of other electrical systems applied. Allowing the ...

These tests represent the percentage of green house gases that the engine will produce over its
lifetime. The results are as follows: the gasoline combustion engine is 88%, the diesel hybrid engine is
56% (Weiss 29).
The MIT testing and research went into much more detail besides fuel efficiency and emission release.
These areas are still are very important in the mind of the everyday consumer.
Current Developments:
The diesel hybrid idea is now being applied to several different applications. It ranges from road, to
water, and railroad. In each scenario the applications are the similar but the designs are different.
In Vancouver, Canada, RailPower Technologies has designed a hybrid locomotive, the Green Goat,
which utilizes diesel fuel and electric motors. The basic design started with removing all the original
engine parts and replacing them with a 6.0L Daewoo diesel engine and 20 volt lead acid batteries
(Siuru 1). This design uses the diesel engine, which acts as a generator to charge the batteries. The
batteries are then used to power the locomotive. Batteries propel the locomotive leaving more empty
space under the hood. The result of all this is: ability to create a smaller hood increasing overall
visibility for locomotive engineers, fuel economy improvement of 35%, and a 90% reduction of
overall emissions (Siuru 1).

Enron Essay
As Bethany McLean and Peter Elkind portray in The Smartest Guys in the Room: The Amazing Rise
and Scandalous Fall of Enron, there was a chain reaction of events and a hole that dug deeper with
time in the life span of, at one time the world s 7th largest corporation, Enron. The events were
formulated by an equation with many factors: arbitrary accounting practices, Wall Street s evolving
nature and Enron s lack of successful business plans combined with, what Jeff Skilling, CEO of
Enron, believed was the most natural of human characteristics, greed. This formula resulted in fraud,
deceit, and ultimately the rise and fall of Enron.
Kenneth Lay created Enron in 1985 as a result of the merger of Houston Natural Gas and Internorth.

Next came California s rolling blackouts caused by Enron s traders. By turning the power off and on
in California, they could control the price of electricity, essentially stealing people s money. Because
they could manipulate the price, they made hefty bets on it, and in turn made over $2 billion dollars
for Enron. Just before the fall of Enron, the insiders sold off nearly $1 billion dollars prior to the
annunciation of the bankruptcy of Enron. What caused so many executives and employees to behave
in such a fraudulent way? As Skilling put it, the biggest motivator for humans is money. Enron s
executives received large quantities of stock options, motivating them to manipulate earnings which
would cause an increase in the stock price. The nature of Enron s executives also played a big role in
influencing employees to display similar characteristics of aggression, arrogance, greed and
dishonesty. Executives at Enron were known to take extreme dirt biking trips to places like Mexico,
where they could dangerously travel 1200 miles of rugged terrain. Stories of broken bones, stitches
and flipping jeeps became legendary at Enron, and fed the macho personality of the employees. Top
management gave its managers blank orders, to just do it (60). In turn, employees attempted to not
only crush outsiders, but eachother. Skilling encouraged this behavior, saying he wanted them to

classmates on an uninhabited island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. They attempt to create order

where we compete against other grade levels in order to win a prize. The prizes are homework free for

must win the break down. A break down is when we stomp on the floor to make sick beats. Each grade
level gets a turn to participate the break down in other words, who ever stomps the loudest wins! The
criteria that I used to evaluate the SGMS Pep Rally was Energy, Loud, Good Music, Games, and

Johannes Kepler s Accomplishments
Johannes Kepler was born on December 27, 1571in Weil der Stadt, Germany and died on November
15, 1630 in Resenburg, Germany due to his health. When Kepler was born in the late 16th century,
scientists believed that planets in the solar system traveled in circular orbits around the Earth. Kepler
came from a modest family in a small German town. He began university studies in 1598, where he
grasped ideas of Copernicus s works and tutored in its complex details by Maestlin. He experienced a
moment of illumination while teaching a small class, struck him that the spacing among the six
Copernican planets might be explained circumscribing and inscribing each orbit with one of the five

Revolutionary Archetype
In both literature and the waking world, the idea of a revolutionary figure has always been one of
wonder and intrigue. It is no coincidence that authors continuously weave revolutionary characters
into their stories to both entice readers and give them a sense of realism. The revolutionary archetype
duplicated throughout fiction is seen as a morally good character openly opposing the current state of
affairs despite the action being against the known laws, this character type is also often forced to
sacrifice something for their cause. Diana Farley from The Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard,

He says this line a number amount of times throughout the entire song. He s trying to get over the

Lance Armstrong Essay
Whoosh! was the sound of the wind blowing into his face as he raced through the mountain s
monstrous decent. As he raced through the Pyrenees, he thought about everything that had occurred in
the past couple of years of his life. He felt his heart pounding as he pedaled through the dirt and rocks.
Cycling is a tough sport that only certain athletes can endure. The long and painful climbs up a 2,000

champions of the sport. Lance Armstrong has succeeded so many times in this strenuous sport, that he

Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae
Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae
Some evaluations claim that the Dionysus appearing in The Bacchae is fairly true embodiment of the
ideals of ancient Athens. He demands only worship and proper reverence for his name, two matters of
honor that pervaded both the Greek tragedies and the pious society that viewed them. In other plays,
Oedipus consultations with Apollo and the many Choral appeals to Zeus reveal the Athenian respect
for their gods, while Electra s need for revenge and Antigone s obligation to bury Polyneices both
epitomize the themes of respect and dignity. Yet although Dionysus personifies these two motifs, his
clashes with the rest of Athenian tradition seem to make him its true adversary. ... Show more content

The Chorus first alludes to the traditional place of Athenian women with the statement, driven from
shuttle and loom, / possessed by Dionysus! (118 199), and Pentheus later employs the same motif
when threatening, I shall have them sold as slaves or put to work / at my looms (513 514). Such a
deliberate analogy amidst the clash of divine and earthly power seems to highlight the woman s
domesticated place and to call attention to her role as a pawn in the struggle between the king and the
god. Though women were almost excluded from Athenian public life and women s presence in male
company [was] surrounded by many taboos in Athenian culture, the frenzied Bacchae serve a
necessary and conspicuous function in this drama.
Women in The Bacchae not only leave their traditional place within the home but are thrust into a
promiscuous position that contrasts sharply with the usual characterization, [of] submissiveness and
modesty. The proper conduct of a Greek woman can be seen in another of Euripides dramas, Iphigenia
at Aulis, where the blameless wife is portrayed as chaste with regard to sexual matters. Certainly the
indulgences of the woodland orgies break from such secluded and silent positions of respectable
Athenian women, a challenge to traditional

Examples Of Bacon s Rebellion
Howard Zinn discussed several things in this chapter. At first, he mentioned the white frontiersmen
rebellion and how the rebellion threat the government. This rebellion was bacon s rebellion. Also, he
talked about how the England government ended this rebellion. The main argument for Zinn in this
chapter was the division of the community in the colonies according to social and economic status into
upper class which was the wealthy people, and the lower class which consist of poor people. Also, he
talked about the relationship among white, and Indians, and black slaves. The first thing was the
division of the community. First, Zinn stated that the Bacon s rebellion was anti aristocrat and anti

The Beauty And Richness Of Autumn By John Keats
At one time or another, every person has experienced the beauty of summer. In this time of the year,
nature is full of life, the weather is at its finest, and the paramount joys of life can be experienced to
their fullest. Then the fall comes, the trees turn lovely shades of red and yellow, and the wind offers a
nice chill breeze for relief. Unfortunately, seasons change and the beauty that people once experienced
vanishes. People focusing only on the material and petty aspects of life, rather than the beauty around
them, will let life pass them, missing out on the true wonders of the world. In his poem To Autumn,
John Keats utilizes imagery to express the importance of indulging in the beauties of nature, while
alive, because humans are mortal beings bound by the limits of time.
Throughout the beginning of the poem, Keats touches on the beauty and richness of autumn. He
accomplishes this by introducing distinct fall imagery. For example, Keats writes in lines 5 and 6, To
bend with apples the moss d cottage trees; And fill all fruit with the ripeness of to the cores (414).
Having the trees branches being bent by the weight of the apples and the fruit being ripe to its core,
the narrator points to the plumpness and maturity of the fruit. Typically, fruit reaches this fullness in
autumn when it is ready to harvest. Keats uses this delectable and pleasant image of the fruit to not
only demonstrate the mouthwatering joys nature has to offer during this season, but to also

Laughter Improves Health Essay example
Laughter is an essential human phenomenon. Smiling in response to pleasant physical conditions
occurs in early development, usually in the first month of life. As a motor reflex, laughter is usually
present by the time a child is 4 months old. By the age of eighteen months, a child smiles once every
six minutes, and by four years of age, the rate increases to one smile every one and one third minutes.
The ratio of laughs to smiles increases from one laugh to every ten smiles as eighteen months to one
every three smile at four years. The individual differences in the rate of both laughing and smiling
become greater as the children grow older. (Stearns, 1972) The instinctual development of smiling and
laughing occurs very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The causes of laughter can be divided into three main groups. One manifestation is laughter as a
reflex, such as due to ticking. Another is as a psychosomatic response prompted by a specific stimulus.
This is an informative stimulus such as a word, sentence, gesture, action, recollection, situation, etc.
This requires the involvement of perception, learning, and memory. This reaction may or may not be
terminated voluntarily. The third is again a psychosomatic response, but is differentiated because it is
not caused by an adequate informative stimulus and can be terminated voluntarily.
Within this categorization, there are different types of laughter: mirthful laughter, pathological
laughter, etc. Mirthful laughter, a lesser studied, but highly interesting type will be the focus of this
discussion. A commonly held belief is that mirthful laughter and humor result in positive physical,
psychological, and social fitness. With such a expansive area of influence, it is difficult to understand
how such laughter influences the body.
Laughter in healing
Studies of the physiology of mirthful laughter, scientifically known as gelotology, are a fairly recent
phenomenon. Descriptions of convalescence through positive emotional states have renewed interest
in the healing potential of mirthful laughter. Norman Cousins accounts of the therapeutic effects of
laughter during his treatment and recovery from ankylosing spondylitis

Analysis And Evaluation Of Working With A Team
Executive Summary (250 words) This report provides an analysis and evaluation of working with a
team in order to achieve both individual and team goals. This has been done through the application of
decision making, attribution theory and perception to understand how to achieve the best outcome
given any circumstance. Before any of the Everest climbs, the clear consensus of the group was that
communication was vital in order to be successful. To do so, social media such as Facebook and
Skype Conference calls, Google documents and face to face communication both during and after
tutorials were utilised. Through the comparison of two different simulation environments with similar
scenarios and roles for each, results have indicated that groups who spend time prior to the exercise
combined with past experiences and clear communication are more likely to complete the tasks
assigned to them and therefore reach their goals together. This is evident in the 14% increase to 69%
of the completion of group goals in the second climb, as opposed to just 54% in the first. Individual
goals also increased from 14% to 86% for the environmentalist, a great improvement which is
attributed to the increase in communication due to the second climb being done face to face, where the
application of perceptual skills was more successful since everyone was able to identify and voice
their opinions in the same environment. This report also highlights that while the outcome of one

Arranging A Marriage In India Summary
Arranging a Marriage in India by Serena Nanda is an insightful article in my opinion. As an American,
our culture regarding marriage is very basic with searching for love on our own and then deciding for
ourselves who we should marry or even if we shall marry at all. This article gives insight into how this
process is viewed as acceptable and the complex process of arranging a marriage for a son.
The author begins with the basics of marriages in India, explaining that arranged marriages are so
common that marriages not setup have a special term. She goes on to speak of how the couples set to
wed usually do not meet before the ceremony and that if they do, it is for only a momentary
conversation after the decisions have been made. However, she points out, that if one person objects to
the match that the parents agreed to, they do not have to wed.

Plot Against America
In The Theory of Infantile Citizenship, Lauren Berlant classifies Washington DC as a domestic
crossroads wherein the local meets the national. Berlant investigates in detail the secrete mechanism in
which citizenship is created and multiplied in the intimate, and private, way but through the imagined
public sphere. She addresses the question of how a person begins to understand the country they feel
as though they belong to, and how one comes to comprehend themselves in relation to their country.
This leads to the acknowledgement of the separation of how one perceives their nation, versus how it
actually functions. In Philip Roth s The Plot Against America, the novel illustrates how the left liberal
comprehension of fascism has changed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She describes that the restrictions of such a discussion can be witnessed in the fact that when juvenile
American citizens go to Washington DC and seek to grasp the nation in its totality, they unavoidably
compress the unlimited variables of experience of both DC and America:
It is through the landmarks of DC the memorials, the government bureaus, and the White House that
current citizens, potential citizens, and non potential citizens possibly experience the restorative
effects accessible through Washington s representative geography. In his novel, Roth places a fictional
version of his own Jewish family from Newark, New Jersey at the center of his antifascist novel,
thereby illustrating the impact of fascism on those marked as its Other. The author stated in his New

What factors lead to the rise of the pictorial poster
What factors lead to the rise of the pictorial poster? When looking at what factors lead to the rise of
the pictorial poster, it is clear to see that the majority of them occurred in late nineteenth century Paris
and that perhaps one man, Jules Chéret, can be thanked for exploiting and mastering the techniques
which made these posters reach the levels of respect previously reserved for the fine arts. As well as
Jules Chéret and his mastery of lithography I will be exploring the influence of Japan and their

gaiety in his posters .... the laughing, twirling, sparkling girl whom he uses as a model; the Parisians

newspaper Le courriere francias made special printings of Chéret posters in a convenient size (22 x14

legibility and who could own them, it also affected the amount of tax placed upon them. All posters
which were to be placed in the streets would be subjected to a government tax. This was varied
according to size; the rate was 6 centimes for the ¼ colombier, 12 centimes for the ½ colombier, 18

Proximate Cause Of Car Accident
The diver s injury from a defective steering wheel meets proximate cause. According to Melvin and
Katz (2015), proximate cause is met when a breach of duty occurs in the closest proximity of the
incident and without an unforeseen event that cancels out liability. In the case of the accident,
proximate cause is met because a motorist being involved in an accident is not an unreasonable
occurrence. In addition, the steering wheel manufacturer is held at a strict liability due to the
manufacturing of goods for consumers. According to Stewart (2016), a manufacturer is liable for
injuries when the product is proven defective and is unreasonably dangerous. For example, in West v.
Caterpillar Tractor Co., Inc., West, who was a dealer of Caterpillar s products, claimed that because
manufacturers imply their products are safe, the manufacturer holds the burden of liability. Moreover,
the plaintiff must prove the manufacturer s relationship to the defective product, the dangerous
condition, and proximate cause of related injuries. In the case of the driver suing the manufacturer of
the steering mechanism, the plaintiff must prove the manufacturer produced the defective mechanism,
the reason the mechanism caused the injury, and proximate cause. A likely defense from the
manufacturer will be the cause of the motorist s accident. However, vehicle accidents are not outside
the scope of a likely event; therefore, the plaintiff will have a strong case.
Question 2: A tenant hurts herself falling down defective steps. The tenant sues the landlord s
insurance company, alleging that they knew the steps were defective but insured him anyway, thus
discouraging him from fixing them.
The tenant s injury is does not meet proximate cause to the insurance company s product.
According to Melvin and Katz (2015), proximate cause relates to the nearest breach of duty associated
with the harm. In other words, the acts of intervening negligence from the landlord exempts the
insurance company s proximate cause, thus causing liability to fall upon the landlord. Moreover, the
property owner s duties include notifying guests of hazards, duty to inspect, and duty to repair defects.

But, due to the changing in business environment it is important to focus on corporate success in order
to be competitive in this environment.
A number of success factors researches shows that the most important factors contributing to success
are business s management systems and practices (Lussier, 1995), (Strischek, 1998). Some other
factors leading to business success addressed in the research are implementation of accounting
systems and regular review of financial statements (Gerstel, 1991), control of job site safety (Gordon,
1997), and ongoing training and education (Bednarz, 1997). In the Hutchings and Christofferson study
(Christofferson Hutchings, 2001), carried out among small volume residential firms in the United
States, the most important factors to business success were identified as quality workmanship,
honesty, having good subcontractors, customer communications, reputation, having good employees,
and completing projects on time, respectively. In a survey carried out among Germany s firms, the
most important success factors were found as employee development, effective risk management,
innovation, partnerships with customers, and lean organizational structure (Roland Berger Strategy

King Leopold II and the Congo Free State
King Leopold II of Belgium (1835 1909) was the reigning king of Belgium from 1865 until his death
in 1909. He managed the throne after the death of his father, Leopold I. He was born under the
original name of Louis Philippe Marie Victor in Brussels. He joined the Belgium armed forces at a
relatively early age and, in 1853, he took as his wife the Archduke of Austria s daughter, Maria
Henrietta. He became widely noted as a philanthropist, his work earning him worldwide fame. Upon
his death, Leopold s nephew, Albert I, succeeded him to the throne of Belgium.
The famous travels of Sir Henry Stanley in search of Dr. Livingstone through the unexplored regions
of Africa caught the attention of Leopold. He hired ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had his own piece of that magnificent African cake. The newly named Congo Free State was
handed over to Leopold essentially as his personal country. With such authority, he easily exploited
the natives and their abundance of natural resources.
The presence of ivory, rubber, copper, and diamonds in the Congo only whetted Leopold s appetite for
wealth. He sent Sir Stanley deeper and deeper into the unexplored jungles in search of profitable
resources. However, his treatment of the native population was not quite in line with his philanthropic
reputation. He extorted the indigenous peoples with often called barbaric methods. Leopold strove to
further develop the Congo nation by establishing an exportation network which included the building
of river ports and roads into the interior of the nation. The expeditions proved to be quite successful
for the Belgian king. Some figures report an income of approximately #8356;30,000 per year earned
through his ventures in the Congo.
However, the rest of Europe began to take notice of the inhumane methods utilized by Leopold after
his African state grew larger. In addition, the financial returns started to wane after the initial stages of
colonization. By 1908, the Congo project had overstretched its financial resources and Leopold was
not able to manage it independently. He began to sell parts of the state like stock in a corporation. This

The Sim Research Paper
In the fifth grade I want to spend the summer with my cousin s year. She s my dad s twin s daughter so
that makes us more like sisters. During that summer she introduced me to this game called The Sim.
The Sims is a life simulation video game series developed by EA Maxis and published by Electronic
arts. The purpose of this game is to create humanlike characters called Sims and you as the player get
to direct their life. You control whether they get jobs, start families, or cause trouble. For a couple of
hours, in my case six hours minimum every time I play, you play God and are in complete control.
After that summer I was. I have my parents purchased the latest game and I kissed my life goodbye.

know about your Sim and your Sim surroundings. The key points though are the icon shaped like a
head, an icon shaped like a desk, and the section where you see five squares together. The icons
shaped like a head brings you to a panel wall you will see a list of need which are hunger, energy
hygiene, fun, social, and bladder. These bars will appear drink and slowly decrease over time. The
lower they decreased the more your chances your son s life is in danger so you need to keep the bars
up. To keep them up you just click on certain things around the house that would help raise them. For
example click on the fridge to keep you feed them or a shower to clean them. The only Bar you can t
raise using items at home is your social bar for that you need to human or sim interaction. For similar
action you just fine random cities around town and click on them. You will get a series of options in

  • 3. Characteristics Of The High Renaissance This research paper looks at the High Renaissance and the artists that it had produced during this period. During this time period there were three individuals that had dominated the art world. These three artists are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Even though this paper discusses about the High Renaissance and the three who dominated it, the main focus of the paper is on Leonardo Da Vinci. Even though he mad such famous paintings, he was not a prolific painter; he was prolific draftsman as well as a great engineer, architect, inventor, and scientist. Besides having many famous paintings, Da Vinci also had thousands of drawings, sketches, and doodles that he is famous for. The drawings contained many notes of what he was interested. There are drawings of the study of the human body, of his inventions and just things he see is interesting. In art history, the High Renaissance period refers to a short period in which there was an exceptional artistic production in the Italian states. The reason why this part of the Reniasance period is called the High Renaissance is because it has been seen as the time in which the artistic aim and goals of the Renaissance has reached their greatest application (n.d.). The High Renaissance style was the dominant art style during 16th century Italy. Many historians believe that three individuals dominated this time period of art. These individuals are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The oldest of the three was Leonardo Da Vinci Leonardo Da Vinci was a universal genius. He was not only just the best painter of the world at the time, but he was also known as a great inventor, architect, engineer and scientist. Even though he was great in many fields, he is mostly known from his achievements as the painter of many famous Renaissance art masterpieces. Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 near the village of Vinci, which is 25 miles away from Florence. Da Vinci was the illegitimate son of a local of Florence and a prominent notary Florence, Ser Piero Da Vinci. Not much of his childhood is known, but as a teen he became an apprentice of Andrea del Verrochio, the leading artist of Florence and the early Reniassance (2017). Later on Leonardo ... Many schools in the United States mainstream disabled students and have succeeded in properly educating them, along with creating a safe environment where they are socially comfortable and accepted. However, there are too many incidents where teachers improperly handle these students and administrators do not give enough money to fund adequate supplies for these students. Most importantly, children with disabilities have the opportunities to observe, imitate and model the language use of their peers who do not have disabilities (Grabmeier). By following their nondisabled friends, disabled students learn how to better communicate their thoughts, feelings and ideas which makes it easier for teachers to help them and understand them. Another beneficial skill disabled students receive through mainstreaming is positive thinking. According to Kathy Foust, the mainstreaming environment allows disabled students to learn what type of behavior is appropriate and what is not. They learn that listening to a teacher leads to little or no punishments while disobeying a teacher leads to more punishments. Foust also includes that mainstreaming stimulates self esteem because the disabled know they are in regular classes, which makes them proud of themselves. These students believe that since they are in classrooms with nondisabled students, they are in higher and more advance classes. In other words, since students around the disabled are capable of extraordinary things, the disabled feel like they are extraordinary as well, thus having an improved self esteem. AME Pastor Interview Report INTRODUCTION It was 20 April 2014, I had just finished preaching my first sermon on Easter Sunday as the newly appointed pastor of New Creation AME Church, and as I looked around at an empty church with 20 people in a facility that could hold 250 people, instantly my heart sunk and my spirit became vexed as the frustration of the moment slowly began to sink in. Admittedly, I almost burst out into hysterical laughter when I thought about how I had been hoodwinked into believing that I was being assigned to a congregation of 109 members. There I was standing as the newly appointed leader in a deteriorating two story church that was being leased for an absorbent amount with less than $2000 dollars in the treasury and a separate list of bills ... That is, only if I would begin to exercise greater faith and trust in God; shedding my disbelief only to dawn a new outlook on the path of church leadership. After all, God has place unique and specially gifts inside the hearts and spirits of all of his children. These books were made of leaves, bark, or leather and glued together with a stucco layer. These types of books were often protected with animal skin or wooden boards. All of these facts conclude that the Mayan writing was much more advanced and intricate than other civilizations. Agriculture or farming played a very important role in the ancient Mayan civilization. The mayans were smart and used the calendar, sun, and the seasons to grow specific crops. The events were formulated by an equation with many factors: arbitrary accounting practices, Wall Street s evolving nature and Enron s lack of successful business plans combined with, what Jeff Skilling, CEO of Enron, believed was the most natural of human characteristics, greed. Just before the fall of Enron, the insiders sold off nearly $1 billion dollars prior to the annunciation of the bankruptcy of Enron. Western Cape Soccer Club prepares a Refreshment Trading Account to account for the profit or loss arising from such an activity. The money that the club receives from this activity will serve as a portion of the income. When the physical refreshments are bought, this is recorded in the REFRESHMENTS ACCOUNT which is an asset account. If there are refreshments left over at the end of the financial period, these have to be recorded in the account called REFRESHMENTS ON HAND and these will be used in the next financial period. Refreshments account will increase on the Debit side and if the refreshments are sold, the account decreases on the Credit side (as it is an asset account). The profit made will be accounted for with a contra account PROFIT ON SALE OF REFRESHMENTS. I have illustrated how Western Cape Soccer Club will enter the Refreshments Ledger Account: DR ... • 21. Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae Some evaluations claim that the Dionysus appearing in The Bacchae is fairly true embodiment of the ideals of ancient Athens. He demands only worship and proper reverence for his name, two matters of honor that pervaded both the Greek tragedies and the pious society that viewed them. In other plays, Oedipus consultations with Apollo and the many Choral appeals to Zeus reveal the Athenian respect for their gods, while Electra s need for revenge and Antigone s obligation to bury Polyneices both epitomize the themes of respect and dignity. Yet although Dionysus personifies these two motifs, his clashes with the rest of Athenian tradition seem to make him its true adversary. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such a deliberate analogy amidst the clash of divine and earthly power seems to highlight the woman s domesticated place and to call attention to her role as a pawn in the struggle between the king and the god. Though women were almost excluded from Athenian public life and women s presence in male company [was] surrounded by many taboos in Athenian culture, the frenzied Bacchae serve a necessary and conspicuous function in this drama. Women in The Bacchae not only leave their traditional place within the home but are thrust into a promiscuous position that contrasts sharply with the usual characterization, [of] submissiveness and modesty. The proper conduct of a Greek woman can be seen in another of Euripides dramas, Iphigenia at Aulis, where the blameless wife is portrayed as chaste with regard to sexual matters. • 23. The Beauty And Richness Of Autumn By John Keats At one time or another, every person has experienced the beauty of summer. In this time of the year, nature is full of life, the weather is at its finest, and the paramount joys of life can be experienced to their fullest. Then the fall comes, the trees turn lovely shades of red and yellow, and the wind offers a nice chill breeze for relief. Unfortunately, seasons change and the beauty that people once experienced vanishes. People focusing only on the material and petty aspects of life, rather than the beauty around them, will let life pass them, missing out on the true wonders of the world. In his poem To Autumn, John Keats utilizes imagery to express the importance of indulging in the beauties of nature, while alive, because humans are mortal beings bound by the limits of time. Throughout the beginning of the poem, Keats touches on the beauty and richness of autumn. He accomplishes this by introducing distinct fall imagery. For example, Keats writes in lines 5 and 6, To bend with apples the moss d cottage trees; And fill all fruit with the ripeness of to the cores (414). Having the trees branches being bent by the weight of the apples and the fruit being ripe to its core, the narrator points to the plumpness and maturity of the fruit. As a motor reflex, laughter is usually present by the time a child is 4 months old. The ratio of laughs to smiles increases from one laugh to every ten smiles as eighteen months to one every three smile at four years. This reaction may or may not be terminated voluntarily. The third is again a psychosomatic response, but is differentiated because it is not caused by an adequate informative stimulus and can be terminated voluntarily. This has been done through the application of decision making, attribution theory and perception to understand how to achieve the best outcome given any circumstance. Before any of the Everest climbs, the clear consensus of the group was that communication was vital in order to be successful. To do so, social media such as Facebook and Skype Conference calls, Google documents and face to face communication both during and after tutorials were utilised. Through the comparison of two different simulation environments with similar scenarios and roles for each, results have indicated that groups who spend time prior to the exercise combined with past experiences and clear communication are more likely to complete the tasks assigned to them and therefore reach their goals together. This is evident in the 14% increase to 69% of the completion of group goals in the second climb, as opposed to just 54% in the first. Individual goals also increased from 14% to 86% for the environmentalist, a great improvement which is attributed to the increase in communication due to the second climb being done face to face, where the application of perceptual skills was more successful since everyone was able to identify and voice their opinions in the same environment. According to Melvin and Katz (2015), proximate cause is met when a breach of duty occurs in the closest proximity of the incident and without an unforeseen event that cancels out liability. In the case of the accident, proximate cause is met because a motorist being involved in an accident is not an unreasonable occurrence. In addition, the steering wheel manufacturer is held at a strict liability due to the manufacturing of goods for consumers. According to Stewart (2016), a manufacturer is liable for injuries when the product is proven defective and is unreasonably dangerous. For example, in West v. Caterpillar Tractor Co., Inc., West, who was a dealer of Caterpillar s products, claimed that because manufacturers imply their products are safe, the manufacturer holds the burden of liability. Moreover, the plaintiff must prove the manufacturer s relationship to the defective product, the dangerous condition, and proximate cause of related injuries. In the case of the driver suing the manufacturer of the steering mechanism, the plaintiff must prove the manufacturer produced the defective mechanism, the reason the mechanism caused the injury, and proximate cause. A likely defense from the manufacturer will be the cause of the motorist s accident. However, vehicle accidents are not outside the scope of a likely event; therefore, the plaintiff will have a strong case. Question 2: A tenant hurts herself falling down defective steps. The tenant sues the landlord s insurance company, alleging that they knew the steps were defective but insured him anyway, thus discouraging him from fixing them. The tenant s injury is does not meet proximate cause to the insurance company s product.
