Maria said that the children have an inner force, it gives...
Maria said that the children have an inner force, it gives them the strength and energy to achieve
potentially. When you give a child guidance and freedom, they focus mainly on what they need to
know. Children have more confidence and they do not need to rely on the teachers. Maria had put
optimism and humanism in her teaching.
Montessori approach, she made the school beautiful and careful environment for the children. Didactic
materials, so she could meet the needs of each child at their level of development. The teacher has to
prepare instructions that get the children interested in the activity. I believe that they should not force

Observation is a key method, it is a way for the adults to learn about what the child needs. For
example, if you see a child hammering on objects this means that the child is involved in the activity
so we give him a drum. This is how observation can help and achieve a child s requirement.
Following the Child
The child will show you what they need to do, what to develop in themselves and what are the areas
they need to be challenged in. The aim of the children who persevere in their work with an object is
certainly not to learn ; they are drawn to it by the needs of their inner life, which must be recognized
and developed by its means. Maria Montessori.
Following the child around in the classroom will help you find out a little more about the child. If they
want to climb, let them climb in a safe manner. Do not be overprotective or they will always rely on
the teachers. It is better for the child to understand and be mature from a younger age as it will help
them in the future. Also it is best not to tell the child what to do all the time, the child needs to
familiarise themselves within their environment. One thing ever child needs is freedom and it is better
to give that to the child. Keep presenting the child with some choices of different toys so they are fully
focused and engaging in the activity. Also, step away from the child and let him or her get on with the

Due Process Racism
Due Process and Racism: Powell v. Alabama and To Kill a Mockingbird The Powell v. Alabama case
was a prime example of the denial of Due Process of Law. In Powell v. Alabama (1932), nine black
youths went to court after being accused of rape, weren t given adequate counsel, and the same thing
happened to a young black man named Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird. Nine African
American youths were accused of raping two young Caucasian women on a train to Alabama, they
were given little to no time to defend themselves, and this case shares many things in common with
Tom Robinson s case in To Kill a Mockingbird. Many believe this is why the Powell v. Alabama Court
Case is inequitable and unjust. For one thing, a jury of all white men sentence nine young African
American boys to death without any solid evidence. Nine young African American men hopped ...

Mayella Ewell accused Tom Robinson of raping her, but her father, Bob Ewell, never consulted a
doctor to verify her being raped. This relates to the original court case because when Ruby Bates and
Victoria Price were tested for rape, the doctors had found no evidence. Atticus Finch asked Bob Ewell
if he took his daughter to a doctor and he replied that he had not. The problem is that Bob Ewell
testified seeing his daughter being raped from a window three feet from the ground (Lee 233). His
confession is questionable because it was dark outside and three feet is quite a distance to make out
things clearly. It was then, when Tom Robinson tried to explain his side of the story, that he was
denied Due Process. It was a white man s word against a black man s word. Both of these court cases
were very similar to one another and showed how all the defendants, including Tom Robinson, were
denied Due

Articles Of Confederation
The Articles of Confederation was the formal charter of the government of the United States that was
the first binding document outlining its independence from Great Britain. As tensions grew between
the United States and Great Britain, a war was inevitable with the people of America growing tired of
the British rule and wanting independence, the Revolutionary War was the next step in trying to free
itself from British tyranny. The Articles of Confederation was fully ratified in 1781 after the
Revolutionary War and seemed to be more interested in stability rather than liberty. The Articles of
Confederation was the first document outlining a national government that wrote into law the

Kinship Is Used For Cross Cultural Comparison
Marshall Sahlins also effectively shows that there is a disadvantage among kinship being used for
cross cultural comparison because interdependency tends to be found among many different groups
regardless of their kinship models. Therefore because kinship exists in all cultures, and all cultures
have interdependency in order for the relationships to function, it makes it easier to compare various
cultures. It is also evident in another text called Witch Beliefs and Social Structure by Monica Wilson
that those we consider kin do not automatically have affection for us therefore a strong bond may not
always be present. Wilson greatly expresses that in the Nyakysua and the Pondo tribes, witchcraft is
usually practiced and aimed towards those who are in the same village. It is especially more likely to
happen if these individuals are always talking about their good fortunes to their families, they are
likely to become a target of witchcraft. Sometimes these people are related by blood, but even though
they might be, this example puts forth that even though kinship is found among these cultures, it does
not mean that these people share a relationship with each other and not individuals themselves value
kinship in the same way, therefore it is disadvantageous to use kinship when comparing cultures.
It seems that in order for people to have a kinship bond with each other they have to be somewhat
similar in one way or another but do not have to be blood related. Radcliffe Brown

The Errors Of Judgment That Stood Out
There are three errors in judgment that stood out to me in the reading and attend. Unwarranted
assumptions are beliefs and ideas that are taken for granted (Bethel, 2013). Both personally and
professionally unwarranted assumptions can cause a lack of communication. This can lead to
problems in relationships and deadlines not being met. Projection is tendency to attribute to others
some of our own traits . Often times, when we have personality traits or feelings, we assume others are
doing or feel the same. This can lead to hurt feelings, resentment, and lack of communication. And,
sweeping generalizations means one experience is used to generalize about a whole group . When you
put an entire group into a category, you can actually lead to you missing out on good situations and
even better people. On the other hand, you could also get yourself into trouble by assuming the best of
an entire group based on one experience with one or two people involved. Last year, I made an
unwarranted assumption at work. Although it didn t get me wrote up, it did cause a dust up in the
workplace. Previous administration had left it to the bookkeeper to know when an employee left
during the work day. I let the bookkeeper know I had to leave for an hour or so, but didn t let my
administration know. It was during state testing week and we were not supposed to leave the school. I
should have cleared it with administration. I often make projections based on my own traits in my

Therapy Dogs
We always say, Dog is the best friend of human, but how many of us know the history of human
canine relation and things that dogs have done for us? Maybe the one who truly loves dogs will know
about these. There is no exactly record about how dogs came into our lives, but dogs have worked for
human for the last ten to twenty thousand years. Although many dogs work for human, it is not ethical
to treat every kind of animals as property. The animals are first independent living things, then they
are workers for human. Just like human, none of the employers would treat their employees as
property, because every one of us is equal. Working for someone does not mean that we are worse
than anyone else. One of our misunderstanding to animals is that we always think we are better than
animals mentally, but in fact, animals can feel, sense, and think more than human. Gus, a therapy dog
that is mentioned in the reading Therapy Dogs, can sense the voice of loneliness of the patient and

Misbehaving here means that doing something that will hurt the others. Animals work for us for
surviving and loving the companies with human, and this does not mean that animals should finish
everything we ask them to do perfectly. When animals misbehave, we should let them know about
their mistakes by punishing them in ways that will not harm them physically, like stop giving them
snacks. We should also show our praise when they have done a good job. Animals work for human,
but human should not breed them for personal gains, like greyhound and horse racing. People may say
that dogs enjoy chasing of prey, but these kinds of activities will only be harmful to animals and may
cause them to die. However, animals can work in an unsafe environment in place of human or because
of human needs when they have received enough training, and they show their willingness to do those

What Is The Theme Of Tanjong Rhu
The film Tanjong Rhu by Boo Junfeng is a recount of the notorious arrest of twelve gay men in an
entrapment exercise in 1993. Being a conservative society, Singapore has meted out harsh
punishments against the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) community.
Singaporeans are [also] disallowed from even speaking in public places about homosexual related
issues (Oswin, 2008). This essay not only seeks to analyze this film, but also, use the Gramscian
theory of hegemony to examine the challenges faced by the Singapore state government in promoting
their ideas of a heteronormative family.
Unaware to many, Tanjong Rhu was a well known gay cruising area in Singapore during the 1990s.

Research Paper On Ancient Greek Civilization
Ancient Greece The Ancient Greece civilization is the most important topic we have studied so far
because of their architecture, their Greek gods and goddesses, and the rise of Christianity. The Seven
Wonders of the world represent ancient triumph in particular application of technology, aesthetic
beauty, and physical magnificence (Schlager). The Seven Wonders are two tombs, 2 statues, a temple,
a lighthouse, hanging gardens, and the Parthenon. To build the great pyramid it took 2 million blocks
of stone weighing about 2.5 tons a piece. They had to pull these stones in groups of people. To put that
into perspective the average car weighs 2 tons so imagine pulling a car without wheels that is what the
Greeks had to do to build these sculptures.

Essay on Economic Philosophies
Economic Philosophies
How much should we let the government interfere with our economy? Do we trust the government to
take on the enormous responsibility of caring for our economy? Our economy is a precious thing and
we must take great care of it, for it can make us powerful and prosperous or it could be the demise of
our nation. Three economists Karl Marx, Adam Smith, and John Maynard Keynes all had opposing
views on how much government interference should be present upon the economy. Karl Marx believes
that the government should control the economy. This means that every aspect of the economy is
controlled directly by the government. Marx says that if the government plays no part in the economy,
then the economy will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam s idea of society is that each person can do whatever they want to advance themselves and each
person can pursue happiness in whatever fashion they believe to be the best. Technology creates new
and better ways to do things which allows society to grow and become more advanced. Smith says
that new technology creates new jobs by expanding the limits of manufacturing and science. With new
technology people can do things they never could do or even imagine before. Adam Smith says that
the government should stay out of the economy all together. The economy is like a boat it goes up and
down. Smith believed that the economy would fix itself; therefore, the government shouldn t interfere
with the economy. He said one has to have faith because the economy will fix itself. Things may not
be going great right now, but the economy will rise on it s own. The result is graphically represented
as a vertical aggregate supply curve.
John Maynard Keynes believed that it was necessary for the government to intervene in
the economy. He felt the government played an essential part in maintaining the economy and
keep it from going into a depression. The Keynesian view sees the causes of unemployment and
inflation as the failure of certain fundamental economic decisions. Also, product prices and

Caloric Intake Of A Typical Meal At The Olive Garden
I can consume 3373 Calories per day because of my above average height, my weight, my young age,
and my gender (male). Even though I can consume a lot of Calories, I still need to be aware of what I
eat. One of my favorite restaurants is the Olive Garden, thus I am going to compare the caloric intake
of a typical meal at the Olive Garden with my estimated caloric needs. A meal that I typically have is
the chicken parmigiana, the chicken and gnocchi soup, and a raspberry lemonade. The chicken
parmigiana has 1050 Calories, the chicken and gnocchi soup has 250 Calories, and a raspberry
lemonade has 170 Calories; with a total of 1,470 Calories for the entire meal. This means that I would
have 1,903 Calories leftover for my day. This is a lot of Calories leftover, but at the same time its not
if the Calories I consumed were empty Calories, or if I ate out for my previous meals. Empty Calories
add to the total amount of Calories without supplying the nutrients that I need. Undoubtedly Calories
from restaurants add more to the empty Calories of my diet without supplying me with needed
nutrients, than if I would just eat at home. The meal that I ate at the Olive Garden mainly had fat and
sodium, with small amounts of fiber and vegetables. So a third of all my Calories that I can consume
would go towards a meal that provides no sources of major much needed nutrients. The hardest part of
nutrition for me, is allocating all the Calories that I can consume towards foods that give me the

A Summary Of The Faerie Queene And Beowulf
After reading the assigned short stories I decided to use the first book of the Faerie Queene and
Beowulf. These stories have numerous uses of imagery, Throughout Beowulf there are creatures and
battles that are so epic they literally pop off the page because of the way ( the author s) described
them. In the first book of the Faerie Queene (the author) there are also a wide variety of different
monsters and battles and stunning characters, but they also connect with history.
I decided to choose Imagery because both of these stories are full of different creatures and scenes that
need imagery to be told in its full glory. Beowulf is action packed and has descriptive battles and the
Faerie Queene has many historical references that involve imagery.
In the Faerie Queene Spenser uses imagery with what was happening politically or religiously at the
time. There are many examples throughout the story that suggests this. At the time Spenser wrote the
Faerie Queene it was during the English reformation when England dropped Catholicism and turned
to Protestantism as the country s new religion. Since this was going on at the time Spenser used
imagery to connect with events and to show that their new religion could prevail over the Catholic s
criticism.
In the first book Spenser talks about the noble knight Redcrosse, and describes him as a symbol to
look up to. An example Spenser wrote But on his brest a bloudie Crosse he bore, The deare
remembrance of his dying Lord, For whose sweete sake that glorious badge he wore, And dead as
living ever him adored (1.i.2.1 4). Here it almost seems like Spenser is using imagery to describe the
knight Redcrosse as a Christ figure. Further into the story Spenser talks about a mythical creature
called Errour and begins to paint a vivid image of the serpent. Halfe like a serpent horribly displaide,
But th other halfe did womans shape retaine, Most lothsom, filthie, foule, and full of vile disdaine.
when reading this you see a disgusting creature, and Spenser chose the right words. The word disdaine
means a description that describes monsters both mythical and in the bible and it really shows how
horrifying this monster must have been. After painting the image of the horrible

Narcissistic Personality Disorder Essay example
Narcissism is the inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self love; vanity. The term, narcissism
comes, of course, from the Greek myth of Narcissus. Narcissus shunned all the other nymphs until one
of them prayers to the goddess of love and made a request that someday narcissus would feel the joy
and pain of love. The goddess granted the wish to the nymph and narcissus soon would understand the
joy and pain of love. Narcissus went to get a drink of water and saw the most the most beautiful face

Temperamental breakdowns are also a very a common symptom of people with a narcissistic
personality. They are prone to extreme mood swings between self admiration and insecurity; these
people tend to exploit interpersonal relationships. It is more likely for narcissistic behavior to develop
in a male/female in their teens or young adult hood. Most narcissistic patients are so young and they
don t realize that they have a personality disorder. Family and friends must realize that Narcissism is
not preventable and it s a disorder that must be dealt with care and sensitivity. It is not best for the
family of the patient to take it upon themselves to try and cure the patient but to go to a health
professional. Why? Professionals know best. It is possible that families can get opposite effect of what
is expected. The patient may feel overwhelmed; especially a teenage patient who might not be stable
enough to handle the help of their family. Coming on too strong is never a key; if the patient feels like
they re being attacked then they will retaliate. Lashing out, rebelling and hurting themselves is not
uncommon. Cutting is often away to hurt more than themselves. In a Narcissistic patients mind they re
getting back at the person who cares about them but is making them feel attacked when really they re
just finding a reason to deal with their insecurities by inflicting pain on their body. This is a non
preventable disorder. The patient must never be blamed because it may

The Natural Gas Industry in Kazakhstan
Overview Kazakhstan has the world s fifteen largest proved reserves of natural gas with an estimated
2.407 trillion cubic meters, ranking it between China and Malaysia in this respect (CIA World

to some of the world s best oil and gas reserves. Other Caspian nations such as Russia, Iran and
Turkmenistan are all among top ten in the world for proved reserves of natural gas (Ibid). An
estimated 80% of Kazakhstan s production is locked in four fields: Karachaganak, Tengiz,
Imashevskoye and Kashagan. This paper will outline the natural gas industry is Kazakhstan, providing
insight into its history and the state of the industry today. History of Natural Gas in Kazakhstan The
Caspian Sea region has long been one of the richest in the world for fossil fuels. Azerbaijan was an
early power in oil, for example. The Soviet Union s vigorous defense of the region at Stalingrad not
only kept the oil out of the hands of the Axis powers, but it secured the region s hydrocarbon resources
for Soviet development. During the Soviet era, fields in what are today the independent nations of
Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan were developed. After independence, Kazakhstan
has retained and upgraded the Soviet era infrastructure in order to develop its oil and natural gas
industries. Figures from the Energy Information Administration show that Kazakhstan s production of

Prehistoric Western Art Influences
Prehistoric Western Art Influences
Ryan Hernandez
Lamar Community College
Abstract
Art has many styles, shapes, forms, and meanings. The way people perceive art is very different from
one another. Even though some art pieces are very similar, prehistoric art focused on the human
species and the human form. The artists had minimal influence which had an effect on their creative
process. Early prehistoric art was based on humanity. The Venus of Willendorf focused on the value of
human form. The artist wanted to represent how life was at the time. The Lascaux cave paintings share
the same meaning. Whoever the artist was wanted to capture what was important to humans at the
time. Animals were a very big part of their diet and their life which is why they focused on that in
their paintings. Art has many styles, shapes, forms, and meanings. The way people perceive art is very

Why Was Lady Jane Grey
Lady Jane Grey was 16 when she faced the block. Barely having ruled for 9 days she was overthrown
by Queen Mary and forced to resign her title as queen. But what is it that lead her to be overthrown?
Why was she crowned Queen in the first place? As a result because of the countries religious
reformations it is a major point to what lead to Lady Jane s usurpation and her succession battle with
Queen Mary between 1547 1553. Due to that the countries beliefs were split, who would be King
Edward s successor was in everyone s interest especially for the Queen Mary and the Duke of
Northumberland. Because the people of England were on Mary s side it made it harder for who was
the rightful successor which led to a battle for the crown.

She is often seen as a well educated and determined young woman of fierce integrity (Whitlock) and
most importantly she grew up as a strict protestant. Wanting Protestantism to continue and at the same
time to promote his own dynastic line (The British Monarchy Lady Jane Grey ) the Duke of
Northumberland took control of Jane. The Duke of Northumberland was a very powerful man during
that time, he was the regent, president of the Kings council and one of his son s was married to Lady
Jane Grey. A letter was found written by John Banister on May 28th 1553 stating the latest news of the
King s illness. It was then that it was made clear in the letter that the King would not live beyond
autumn. (Bindoff)Knowing this the Duke knew that if the King died he would lose all his power
because Mary was the next in line for the crown. Knowing that Mary was a strict Catholic he began to
persuade Edward to make Mary and Elizabeth illegitimate to the crown and that Lady Jane would be
his successor. The Royal Council agreed and on the 21st June 1553 an act of parliament was signed

The Importance Of Peer Relationships
A.) What role does the family play in a child s relationship with peers during middle childhood? How
do parents foster or inhibit friendship formation for their children? What are some important
distinctions between parent child and peer relationships at this period of life? Are friends at this point
of your life more similar or different than you parents? While the role of parents is crucial throughout
the whole childhood of a child, the significance of this in terms of the child s development transitions
over time. During early childhood, studies have found out that the importance of parents and
guardians are much crucial for the social, emotional, and psychological development of the child
(Hay, 2005). However, studies also said that as the children grow up, their development becomes more
dependent towards their interaction with their peers. This opens up the question regarding the utmost
importance of the parents in a child s relationship with his peer groups in different stages of his life.
According to Zembar (2010), in middle childhood, 30% of a child s social interactions involve peers,
compared to 10% in early childhood (Zembar, 2010). What this shows is that there exists a transition
from the child s dependency from its caregivers for social interaction towards its peer groups, which
are usually those from his/her same age group. Before, it was generally believed that peer
relationships are important as early as a child s early childhood stage. Nonetheless,

Authoritarianism In The Cold War
The end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union resulted in major shift in United
States foreign policy. For years, the United States supported tyrannical dictators in return for stable
anti communist government receptive to United States interests. The Cold War resulted in a new world
order with the United States as the lone global hegemonic power. In Eastern Europe in particular, the
end of the Cold War ushered in an era of economic growth and a large increase in the number of
liberal democracies. Although the world saw a large increase in liberal democracies, a new regime
type referred to as competitive authoritarianism began to emerge. According to Levitsky and Way, In
competitive authoritarian regimes, formal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In these systems, the regimes possess some of these characteristics but have found ways to manipulate
the system to consolidate their power. Rather than openly violating democratic rules (for example, by
banning or repressing the opposition and the media), incumbents are more likely to use bribery, co
optation, and more subtle forms of persecution, such as the use of tax authorities, compliant
judiciaries, and other state agencies to legally harass, persecute, or extort cooperative behavior from
critics . While it is apparent that these regimes are not fully democratic, it would be unfair to label
them as fully authoritarian either. Unlike traditional totalitarian governments, the persistence of true
democratic institutions in competitive authoritarian regimes allows the opposition to contest, weaken
and occasionally even defeat autocratic incumbents. While these situations are generally uncommon,
these situations are possible in competitive authoritarianism due to four independent means, the
electoral arena, the legislature, the judiciary and the media. These four branches are virtually

Outline For Atonement
Atonement by Ian McEwan
1. Some key events of Atonement are
Briony sees her sister and her sister s boyfriend out the window. Briony thinks something bad is
happening, but her sister is only swimming into the pond to find parts of a broken vase.
Briony realizes that she doesn t want her play to be performed so she rips up the poster of her play and
stops rehearsing it.
Robbie accidently gives Briony the letter for Cecilia that tells of his sexual desire for her instead of the
one that tells how sorry he is for breaking the vase. Cecilia then reads the letter and everything makes
sense to her, but she notices that it wasn t sealed and Briony is acting suspicious.

Briony s persistence in making up for her misdoings, and spending her entire life making atonement
for something she did as a kid.

Weaknesses Of The Diamond Model
Introduction
With rapid global competitions, nations seeking different ways to achieve competitive advantages, yet
there is never a certain model for establishing competitive advantages. In addition, the Diamond
Model proposed by Michael Porter considered as the most convincing one.
Porter (1990) argued that if a nation can achieve competitive advantages, certain factors are required.
He claimed a nation s competitiveness should depend onhow its industries are innovating and
upgrading. Nevertheless, advantages can gain through pressure and challenges, since if companies are
having strong domestic rivals, aggressive home based suppliers and demanding local customers, they
will needed to keep upgrading and innovating, as to hold the position. Furthermore, Porter (1990)
indicated howa ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, Waverman (1995, p.70) argued that does not distinguish between hypotheses, theorems,
conjectures and facts and thus cannot proceed to prove causality claiming the diamond model was too
general that it could only illustrate the situations between trade and competitions, yet the model ended
up with nothing construed.
Double Diamond Model
To adjust the weaknesses of the diamond model, the double diamond concept was suggested by
Rugman and D Cruz (1991) and following with Dunning (1992), stating that the analysis of factor
conditions, demand conditions and the forces driving the industry competition as well as the effects of
multinational activities should be considered into the model, so as to have a better framework to
understand the competitiveness behind nations.Theoretically, both models are critical in analyzing a
nation s competitiveness or consider as framework for developing a nation s competitiveness.

Essay about Illegal Aliens and American Medicine
Illegal Aliens and American Medicine
About half of immigration into the United States is illegal, thus approximately half of the impact of
immigration on our health care system is due to illegal immigration. The influx of illegal aliens has
serious hidden medical consequences. We judge reality primarily by what we have seen. But what we
do not see can be more dangerous, more expensive, and more deadly than what is seen. What is
unseen is their free medical care that has degraded and closed some of America s finest emergency
medical facilities, and caused hospital bankruptcies.

constitution, which states, All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the

These articles support a theory that explains the illegal alien problem as part of the general
environment in which it is found. They argue that the illegal alien problem is a diverse one and not
simply a Mexico US problem and suggests that traditional immigration law enforcement strategies
encourage an ever increasing illegal alien population in the United States (Weissinger 2003).
When the Fourteenth Amendment was ratified, its purpose was to assure rights of freedom and
citizenship to newly emancipated Negro citizens. For citizenship, the person was required to submit to
complete, exclusive American jurisdiction, owing allegiance to no other nation.
How do we reclaim America s emergency departments; restore medicine s proud scientific excellence

diseases that illegal aliens carry across the borders? It has been suggested that we close America s
borders to prevent illegal entry. Deport illegal aliens. Rescind the citizenship of anchor babies.

Prion Protein
Prion Protein (PRNP) is encoded by a gene, which contains a highly unstable region of five tandem
octapeptide repeats. An octapeptide repeat is a fragment from the protein which is composed of eight
amino acids joined by peptide bonds, repeatedly copied along the amino acid chain. Within PRNP;
these are tandem meaning that the octapeptide sequences are in such an arrangement that they are
lined up one behind the other (Mastrianni, 2009).
Prion diseases or transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) are fatal neurodegenerative
disorders (Jeong and Kim, 2014). These are diseases which affect the nervous system, in particular the
brain across many species. They are transmitted via prions. Prions are essentially proteins which like

This polymorphism encodes either for methionine or valine and is a major genetic risk factor for prion
diseases. Codon 219 alongside codon 127 can contain further resistance to Kuru.(Mead et al., 2011)
Kuru is a TSE; only found in tribal regions of Papua New Guinea (PNG) where endocannibalism
occurs. (This is the practice of eating the flesh from decreased humans from the same community).
One would have assumed that these adaptations for Kuru protection would be local to PNG, however
they are widespread across the globe, perhaps indicating that endocannibalism may have occurred
amongst all populations in the world histoically or alternatively it may be a normal site of variation
amgonst the populations which only become significant when patients are exposed to abnormal prion
proteins determining protection from the infection.
The ancestral allele is Adenine (A), the alleles may either be adenine or Guanine (G). It must always
be remembered that alleles are in pairs due to the formation of genetic material from two different
haploid sources: paternal and maternal and the pair of chromatids forming the chromosome.
Therefore, the resulting combinations of alleles can be homozygous (two identical alleles i.e. AA or
GG) or heterozygous (two different alleles i.e.

Cheap labour, natural resources and political regime make that the world economy is being more

countries in their economic development. Nevertheless, developing countries ought to be willing to

Negative Effects Of Egocentrism
We are a social species. We reproduce sexually and thus our relationships with those around us are
essential to our ability to succeed as an individual. With these ideas in mind, society has come to
denounce egocentrism and to view those who are prone to it as undesirable and incapable of success.
Egocentrism is defined in the Oxford dictionary as Thinking only of oneself, without regard for the
feelings or desires of others. In the eyes of most, to think only of oneself is to be parasitic to all others.
To lack empathy is to be inherently indifferent which precedes unsuccessfulness. Why is it then that

However, in my experience, for an egomaniac money, sex, and other transient pleasures are just as
good as long term relationships. Love and happiness are chemical cocktails. These chemicals present
themselves just as readily in fleeting relationships; commitment is unnecessary to their appearance.
More than that, a self centered person, barring any mental illness, can choose whether they behave
egocentrically or benevolently in their relationships depending on what they find advantageous. But,
the instability of relationships among the egocentric can also be harmful to their empathetic friends
and romantic partners. This case is a bit more tricky, it can be somewhat difficult to just choose to hate
someone even if exposure to them is harmful. Is it really fair to let egotism go unchecked if it
destabilizes relationships and causes emotionally harmed to the less naturally egotistical? Truthfully,
one must manage their own relationships. If one experiences emotional distress due to someone else s
self obsession it is his own fault for becoming involved with an egomaniac. Egocentrism is inherently
harmful to interpersonal relationships, but that is the problem of the egomaniac and nobody

Theme Of Heroism In Casablanca
Casablanca Casablanca was directed by Michale Curtiz in 1942. There were three main actors.
Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergam and Paul Henreid played Rick, Ilsa and Laszlo in Casablanca. This
movie talked about an American named Rick who needed to choose between his love for a woman
named Ilsa and help her husband who wanted to continue fighting against the Nazis escape the city of
Casablanca. In this movie, we could see three themes, heroism, honor and love. First, heroism is a
concept that a person will consider the overall situation and make great decisions and actions.
Secondly, honor is a moral concept which is respected. Third, love is an emotion that people will fall
in with each other and understand and take care of each other forever. However, I will talk about
heroism in my essay. Here are three main ideas to introduce my statements. First of all, Roger Ebert
says, I identify with Rick, and what moves me is not his love for Ilsa but his ability to put a higher
good above that love. The author said Rick s action was higher above that love. In some ways, it was
heroism. Rick loves Ilsa, he could do anything only for Ilsa. But he considered Ilsa s situation, he
couldn t do selfish behavior. In other words, Rick could refuse to give Laszlo and Ilsa transit and keep
Ilsa company with him. On the contrary, Rick gave them transit to America for free and let his love
leave with another man who fighted with their enemies. Ilsa said in the movie, I can t fight it anymore.
I ran away from you once. I can t do it again. I don t know what s right any longer. You ll have to think
for both of us, for all of us. Ilsa didn t know what is the right choice between justice and love.
Actually, Ilsa also liked Rick. Rick and Ilsa had old unforgettable thing that Ilsa ran away from Rick to
return her husband. Although Rick were angry when he remembered some scenes with Ilsa, he still
helped Ilsa and made right for her. In a sense, Rick was like a hero who were generous. Next, Richard
Corliss says, The galaxy of supporting characters in Casablanca constitute a dazzling, baroque hall of
mirrors that reflect facets and distoetions of the leading characters lives and life styles...One of these
variations which almost

Mitral Valve Prolapse Research Paper
Mitral Valve Prolapse
Located in between the left atrium and the left ventricle is the bicuspid or better known as the mitral
valve. The mitral valve works to prevent the back flow of blood into the left atrium once it enters the
left ventricle. This action may become hindered when the mitral valve prolapses or in other words the
valve becomes floppy and is no longer strong or tough enough to handle the normal stresses brought
upon it. This condition is known as Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP). It is said to be one of the most

Edward R. Murrow Sociology
To complete the service learning component of this course, I assisted Dr. Finley in conducting
research used to create an encyclopedia of documentary films on the subject of crime or the criminal
justice system. Documentary filmmaking is one of the oldest forms of motion picture. In 1919, when
motion pictures were in their infancy, a Russian filmmaker by the name of Dziga Vertov criticized the
Soviet film industry for creating the same fiction found in theaters and in literature instead of
documenting real life events. He likened film dramas to religion in that they are the opium of the
masses . It was not until 1922 that Robert Flaherty created the first true documentary. Nanook of the
North was the first full length film to use modern techniques, such as third person narration, taking a
subjective tone, and using an indigenous person as the film s hero. (UC Berkeley Media Resources
Center, n.d.) While Nanook was the first documentary, it was not until four years later, in 1926, that

from new points of view, using documentaries as a form of activism and with a focus on the narrative
story telling aspect. The 1980s saw the development of the mockumentary , using a script and fictional
characters but filmed using the same style as a typical documentary. The 1980s also saw the expansion
of PBS funding and production of informative and point of view documentaries. More recently, we
have entered the age of reality TV , although many would say those shows are more akin to
mockumentaries than reality. (UC Berkeley Media Resources Center,

Twyla and Roberta´s Friendship in Toni Morrison’s...
The whirlwind relationship of Twyla Roberta. Friendships tend to change over time, for better or

Roberta are a rollercoaster from the moment they meet at the orphanage, to their confrontational
meeting at the Howard Johnsons, to the picketing during segregation, until the end when they try and
sort things out. One of the ways to show the rocky relationship of the two is through their dialog when
they discuss their mothers. The best place to start is at the beginning, at the start of the story, when the

as a picture, to reflect Roberta s unwillingness to open up. On the next meeting, farther into their lives,
Roberta actually calls out to Twyla in a grocery checkout line. When they begin to talk, Roberta asks
if her Twyla s mother is sick as well, meaning that what she said last time they met isn t correct, that
she was still sick. They begin to reminisce, remembering how Roberta s mother had the cross like two
telephone poles, a much less elegant description of how Twyla originally stated earlier, realizing it
wasn t necessarily salvation for her. As the conversation continues, she asks again about her mother,
asking if she got well, which she never did, a nice way of saying she passed away. Later on, during the
picketing and everything, Twyla notices Roberta picketing with a sign larger than her mother s cross.
Insinuating that she s becoming her mother, if not more, and falling into a sickness herself that could
destroy their friendship. They begin arguing over whether or not when the bow legged servant Maggie

When you give a child guidance and freedom, they focus mainly on what they need to know. Children have more confidence and they do not need to rely on the teachers. Maria had put optimism and humanism in her teaching. Montessori approach, she made the school beautiful and careful environment for the children. Didactic materials, so she could meet the needs of each child at their level of development. The teacher has to prepare instructions that get the children interested in the activity. Observation is a key method, it is a way for the adults to learn about what the child needs. For example, if you see a child hammering on objects this means that the child is involved in the activity so we give him a drum. This is how observation can help and achieve a child s requirement. Following the Child The child will show you what they need to do, what to develop in themselves and what are the areas they need to be challenged in. The aim of the children who persevere in their work with an object is certainly not to learn ; they are drawn to it by the needs of their inner life, which must be recognized and developed by its means. Maria Montessori. Following the child around in the classroom will help you find out a little more about the child. If they want to climb, let them climb in a safe manner. Do not be overprotective or they will always rely on the teachers. It is better for the child to understand and be mature from a younger age as it will help them in the future. Also it is best not to tell the child what to do all the time, the child needs to familiarise themselves within their environment. • 3. Due Process Racism Due Process and Racism: Powell v. Alabama and To Kill a Mockingbird The Powell v. Alabama case was a prime example of the denial of Due Process of Law. In Powell v. Alabama (1932), nine black youths went to court after being accused of rape, weren t given adequate counsel, and the same thing happened to a young black man named Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird. Nine African American youths were accused of raping two young Caucasian women on a train to Alabama, they were given little to no time to defend themselves, and this case shares many things in common with Tom Robinson s case in To Kill a Mockingbird. Many believe this is why the Powell v. Alabama Court Case is inequitable and unjust. For one thing, a jury of all white men sentence nine young African American boys to death without any solid evidence. Nine young African American men hopped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mayella Ewell accused Tom Robinson of raping her, but her father, Bob Ewell, never consulted a doctor to verify her being raped. This relates to the original court case because when Ruby Bates and Victoria Price were tested for rape, the doctors had found no evidence. Atticus Finch asked Bob Ewell if he took his daughter to a doctor and he replied that he had not. The problem is that Bob Ewell testified seeing his daughter being raped from a window three feet from the ground (Lee 233). His confession is questionable because it was dark outside and three feet is quite a distance to make out things clearly. It was then, when Tom Robinson tried to explain his side of the story, that he was denied Due Process. It was a white man s word against a black man s word. Both of these court cases were very similar to one another and showed how all the defendants, including Tom Robinson, were denied Due ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As tensions grew between the United States and Great Britain, a war was inevitable with the people of America growing tired of the British rule and wanting independence, the Revolutionary War was the next step in trying to free itself from British tyranny. The Articles of Confederation was fully ratified in 1781 after the Revolutionary War and seemed to be more interested in stability rather than liberty. • 5. Kinship Is Used For Cross Cultural Comparison Marshall Sahlins also effectively shows that there is a disadvantage among kinship being used for cross cultural comparison because interdependency tends to be found among many different groups regardless of their kinship models. Therefore because kinship exists in all cultures, and all cultures have interdependency in order for the relationships to function, it makes it easier to compare various cultures. It is also evident in another text called Witch Beliefs and Social Structure by Monica Wilson that those we consider kin do not automatically have affection for us therefore a strong bond may not always be present. Wilson greatly expresses that in the Nyakysua and the Pondo tribes, witchcraft is usually practiced and aimed towards those who are in the same village. It is especially more likely to happen if these individuals are always talking about their good fortunes to their families, they are likely to become a target of witchcraft. Sometimes these people are related by blood, but even though they might be, this example puts forth that even though kinship is found among these cultures, it does not mean that these people share a relationship with each other and not individuals themselves value kinship in the same way, therefore it is disadvantageous to use kinship when comparing cultures. It seems that in order for people to have a kinship bond with each other they have to be somewhat similar in one way or another but do not have to be blood related. Radcliffe Brown ... • 7. The Errors Of Judgment That Stood Out There are three errors in judgment that stood out to me in the reading and attend. Unwarranted assumptions are beliefs and ideas that are taken for granted (Bethel, 2013). Both personally and professionally unwarranted assumptions can cause a lack of communication. This can lead to problems in relationships and deadlines not being met. Projection is tendency to attribute to others some of our own traits . Often times, when we have personality traits or feelings, we assume others are doing or feel the same. This can lead to hurt feelings, resentment, and lack of communication. And, sweeping generalizations means one experience is used to generalize about a whole group . When you put an entire group into a category, you can actually lead to you missing out on good situations and even better people. On the other hand, you could also get yourself into trouble by assuming the best of an entire group based on one experience with one or two people involved. Last year, I made an unwarranted assumption at work. Although it didn t get me wrote up, it did cause a dust up in the workplace. Previous administration had left it to the bookkeeper to know when an employee left during the work day. I let the bookkeeper know I had to leave for an hour or so, but didn t let my administration know. It was during state testing week and we were not supposed to leave the school. Maybe the one who truly loves dogs will know about these. There is no exactly record about how dogs came into our lives, but dogs have worked for human for the last ten to twenty thousand years. Although many dogs work for human, it is not ethical to treat every kind of animals as property. The animals are first independent living things, then they are workers for human. Just like human, none of the employers would treat their employees as property, because every one of us is equal. Working for someone does not mean that we are worse than anyone else. One of our misunderstanding to animals is that we always think we are better than animals mentally, but in fact, animals can feel, sense, and think more than human. Animals work for us for surviving and loving the companies with human, and this does not mean that animals should finish everything we ask them to do perfectly. When animals misbehave, we should let them know about their mistakes by punishing them in ways that will not harm them physically, like stop giving them snacks. We should also show our praise when they have done a good job. Animals work for human, but human should not breed them for personal gains, like greyhound and horse racing. People may say that dogs enjoy chasing of prey, but these kinds of activities will only be harmful to animals and may cause them to die. Being a conservative society, Singapore has meted out harsh punishments against the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) community. Singaporeans are [also] disallowed from even speaking in public places about homosexual related issues (Oswin, 2008). Research Paper On Ancient Greek Civilization Ancient Greece The Ancient Greece civilization is the most important topic we have studied so far because of their architecture, their Greek gods and goddesses, and the rise of Christianity. The Seven Wonders of the world represent ancient triumph in particular application of technology, aesthetic beauty, and physical magnificence (Schlager). The Seven Wonders are two tombs, 2 statues, a temple, a lighthouse, hanging gardens, and the Parthenon. To build the great pyramid it took 2 million blocks of stone weighing about 2.5 tons a piece. They had to pull these stones in groups of people. To put that into perspective the average car weighs 2 tons so imagine pulling a car without wheels that is what the Greeks had to do to build these sculptures. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do we trust the government to take on the enormous responsibility of caring for our economy? Our economy is a precious thing and we must take great care of it, for it can make us powerful and prosperous or it could be the demise of our nation. Three economists Karl Marx, Adam Smith, and John Maynard Keynes all had opposing views on how much government interference should be present upon the economy. Karl Marx believes that the government should control the economy. This means that every aspect of the economy is controlled directly by the government. Adam Smith says that the government should stay out of the economy all together. The economy is like a boat it goes up and down. Smith believed that the economy would fix itself; therefore, the government shouldn t interfere with the economy. He said one has to have faith because the economy will fix itself. Even though I can consume a lot of Calories, I still need to be aware of what I eat. One of my favorite restaurants is the Olive Garden, thus I am going to compare the caloric intake of a typical meal at the Olive Garden with my estimated caloric needs. A meal that I typically have is the chicken parmigiana, the chicken and gnocchi soup, and a raspberry lemonade. The chicken parmigiana has 1050 Calories, the chicken and gnocchi soup has 250 Calories, and a raspberry lemonade has 170 Calories; with a total of 1,470 Calories for the entire meal. This means that I would have 1,903 Calories leftover for my day. This is a lot of Calories leftover, but at the same time its not if the Calories I consumed were empty Calories, or if I ate out for my previous meals. Empty Calories add to the total amount of Calories without supplying the nutrients that I need. Undoubtedly Calories from restaurants add more to the empty Calories of my diet without supplying me with needed nutrients, than if I would just eat at home. The meal that I ate at the Olive Garden mainly had fat and sodium, with small amounts of fiber and vegetables. So a third of all my Calories that I can consume would go towards a meal that provides no sources of major much needed nutrients. • 13. A Summary Of The Faerie Queene And Beowulf After reading the assigned short stories I decided to use the first book of the Faerie Queene and Beowulf. These stories have numerous uses of imagery, Throughout Beowulf there are creatures and battles that are so epic they literally pop off the page because of the way ( the author s) described them. In the first book of the Faerie Queene (the author) there are also a wide variety of different monsters and battles and stunning characters, but they also connect with history. I decided to choose Imagery because both of these stories are full of different creatures and scenes that need imagery to be told in its full glory. Beowulf is action packed and has descriptive battles and the Faerie Queene has many historical references that involve imagery. In the Faerie Queene Spenser uses imagery with what was happening politically or religiously at the time. There are many examples throughout the story that suggests this. At the time Spenser wrote the Faerie Queene it was during the English reformation when England dropped Catholicism and turned to Protestantism as the country s new religion. Since this was going on at the time Spenser used imagery to connect with events and to show that their new religion could prevail over the Catholic s criticism. In the first book Spenser talks about the noble knight Redcrosse, and describes him as a symbol to look up to. An example Spenser wrote But on his brest a bloudie Crosse he bore, The deare remembrance of his dying Lord, For whose sweete sake that glorious badge he wore, And dead as living ever him adored (1.i.2.1 4). Here it almost seems like Spenser is using imagery to describe the knight Redcrosse as a Christ figure. Further into the story Spenser talks about a mythical creature called Errour and begins to paint a vivid image of the serpent. Halfe like a serpent horribly displaide, But th other halfe did womans shape retaine, Most lothsom, filthie, foule, and full of vile disdaine. when reading this you see a disgusting creature, and Spenser chose the right words. The word disdaine means a description that describes monsters both mythical and in the bible and it really shows how horrifying this monster must have been. How do parents foster or inhibit friendship formation for their children? What are some important distinctions between parent child and peer relationships at this period of life? Are friends at this point of your life more similar or different than you parents? While the role of parents is crucial throughout the whole childhood of a child, the significance of this in terms of the child s development transitions over time. During early childhood, studies have found out that the importance of parents and guardians are much crucial for the social, emotional, and psychological development of the child (Hay, 2005). However, studies also said that as the children grow up, their development becomes more dependent towards their interaction with their peers. This opens up the question regarding the utmost importance of the parents in a child s relationship with his peer groups in different stages of his life. According to Zembar (2010), in middle childhood, 30% of a child s social interactions involve peers, compared to 10% in early childhood (Zembar, 2010). What this shows is that there exists a transition from the child s dependency from its caregivers for social interaction towards its peer groups, which are usually those from his/her same age group. When we go to a shop, we see that there are a lot of things that were produced for example in China. Cheap labour, natural resources and political regime make that the world economy is being more influenced by Third World countries. It is crucial to write, that rich countries should star helping poor countries in their economic development. Nevertheless, developing countries ought to be willing to cooperate with advanced countries. Otherwise, difference between developing countries and developed countries will be bigger and in result, in these countries there will be even more famine and poverty which will play a major role in the functioning of a country. Moreover, the Doha Round was also on talks on Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights. The aim of the talks on TRIPS was to establish minimum level of protection of intellectual property rights which government has to assure owners of patents. (Gostin, 2014: 513). Above mentioned negotiations are performed to make emerging countries more willing to support their technical development. What we can see, is that all the aims are ambitious and they can bring a lot of good but also a lot of bad. Hokeman and Mavroidis (2007: 23) stated that negotiations can be successful only when both sides of conversations will be satisfies with the effect. If the negotiations do not succeed then all deadlines will be missed. • 32. Negative Effects Of Egocentrism We are a social species. We reproduce sexually and thus our relationships with those around us are essential to our ability to succeed as an individual. With these ideas in mind, society has come to denounce egocentrism and to view those who are prone to it as undesirable and incapable of success. Egocentrism is defined in the Oxford dictionary as Thinking only of oneself, without regard for the feelings or desires of others. In the eyes of most, to think only of oneself is to be parasitic to all others. To lack empathy is to be inherently indifferent which precedes unsuccessfulness. Why is it then that there are so many stories of cruel billionaire businessman mistreating their employees and loved ones? How can people that disregard the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, in my experience, for an egomaniac money, sex, and other transient pleasures are just as good as long term relationships. Love and happiness are chemical cocktails. These chemicals present themselves just as readily in fleeting relationships; commitment is unnecessary to their appearance. More than that, a self centered person, barring any mental illness, can choose whether they behave egocentrically or benevolently in their relationships depending on what they find advantageous. But, the instability of relationships among the egocentric can also be harmful to their empathetic friends and romantic partners. This case is a bit more tricky, it can be somewhat difficult to just choose to hate someone even if exposure to them is harmful. Is it really fair to let egotism go unchecked if it destabilizes relationships and causes emotionally harmed to the less naturally egotistical? Truthfully, one must manage their own relationships. If one experiences emotional distress due to someone else s self obsession it is his own fault for becoming involved with an egomaniac. Egocentrism is inherently harmful to interpersonal relationships, but that is the problem of the egomaniac and nobody ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Theme Of Heroism In Casablanca Casablanca Casablanca was directed by Michale Curtiz in 1942. There were three main actors. Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergam and Paul Henreid played Rick, Ilsa and Laszlo in Casablanca. This movie talked about an American named Rick who needed to choose between his love for a woman named Ilsa and help her husband who wanted to continue fighting against the Nazis escape the city of Casablanca. In this movie, we could see three themes, heroism, honor and love. First, heroism is a concept that a person will consider the overall situation and make great decisions and actions. Secondly, honor is a moral concept which is respected. Third, love is an emotion that people will fall in with each other and understand and take care of each other forever. However, I will talk about heroism in my essay. Here are three main ideas to introduce my statements. First of all, Roger Ebert says, I identify with Rick, and what moves me is not his love for Ilsa but his ability to put a higher good above that love. The author said Rick s action was higher above that love. In some ways, it was heroism. Rick loves Ilsa, he could do anything only for Ilsa. But he considered Ilsa s situation, he couldn t do selfish behavior. In other words, Rick could refuse to give Laszlo and Ilsa transit and keep Ilsa company with him. On the contrary, Rick gave them transit to America for free and let his love leave with another man who fighted with their enemies. Ilsa said in the movie, I can t fight it anymore. I ran away from you once. I can t do it again. I don t know what s right any longer. You ll have to think for both of us, for all of us. Ilsa didn t know what is the right choice between justice and love. Actually, Ilsa also liked Rick. Rick and Ilsa had old unforgettable thing that Ilsa ran away from Rick to return her husband. Although Rick were angry when he remembered some scenes with Ilsa, he still helped Ilsa and made right for her. In a sense, Rick was like a hero who were generous. Next, Richard Corliss says, The galaxy of supporting characters in Casablanca constitute a dazzling, baroque hall of mirrors that reflect facets and distoetions of the leading characters lives and life styles...One of these variations which almost ... • 34. Mitral Valve Prolapse Research Paper Mitral Valve Prolapse Located in between the left atrium and the left ventricle is the bicuspid or better known as the mitral valve. • 36. Edward R. Murrow Sociology To complete the service learning component of this course, I assisted Dr. Finley in conducting research used to create an encyclopedia of documentary films on the subject of crime or the criminal justice system. Documentary filmmaking is one of the oldest forms of motion picture. In 1919, when motion pictures were in their infancy, a Russian filmmaker by the name of Dziga Vertov criticized the Soviet film industry for creating the same fiction found in theaters and in literature instead of documenting real life events. He likened film dramas to religion in that they are the opium of the masses . It was not until 1922 that Robert Flaherty created the first true documentary. Nanook of the North was the first full length film to use modern techniques, such as third person narration, taking a subjective tone, and using an indigenous person as the film s hero. (UC Berkeley Media Resources Center, n.d.) While Nanook was the first documentary, it was not until four years later, in 1926, that John Grierson first used ... The 1980s saw the development of the mockumentary , using a script and fictional characters but filmed using the same style as a typical documentary. The 1980s also saw the expansion of PBS funding and production of informative and point of view documentaries. More recently, we have entered the age of reality TV , although many would say those shows are more akin to mockumentaries than reality. (UC Berkeley Media Resources Center, ... • 37. Twyla and Roberta´s Friendship in Toni Morrison’s... The whirlwind relationship of Twyla Roberta. Friendships tend to change over time, for better or worse. This is illustrated in Toni Morrison s short story Recititaf. The relationships of Twyla and Roberta are a rollercoaster from the moment they meet at the orphanage, to their confrontational meeting at the Howard Johnsons, to the picketing during segregation, until the end when they try and sort things out. One of the ways to show the rocky relationship of the two is through their dialog when they discuss their mothers. The best place to start is at the beginning, at the start of the story, when the two girls are first put into the shelter. Twyla ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When she does this, her grin cracked her whole face, and she replies fine. This shows her unwillingness to disclose, and demonstrates her decision to refuse Twyla s desire to reignite their old friendship, when she asks how Twyla s mother is doing she simply replies that she s doing fine, pretty as a picture, to reflect Roberta s unwillingness to open up. On the next meeting, farther into their lives, Roberta actually calls out to Twyla in a grocery checkout line. When they begin to talk, Roberta asks if her Twyla s mother is sick as well, meaning that what she said last time they met isn t correct, that she was still sick. They begin to reminisce, remembering how Roberta s mother had the cross like two telephone poles, a much less elegant description of how Twyla originally stated earlier, realizing it wasn t necessarily salvation for her. As the conversation continues, she asks again about her mother, asking if she got well, which she never did, a nice way of saying she passed away. Later on, during the picketing and everything, Twyla notices Roberta picketing with a sign larger than her mother s cross. Insinuating that she s becoming her mother, if not more, and falling into a sickness herself that could destroy their friendship. They begin arguing over whether or not when the bow legged servant Maggie fell whether or not they kicked her. This spurs off into a war of words. To insult her Twyla makes a sign saying How would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
