A Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) / Fire Alarm Control Unit (FACU), is an electric panel that is the controlling component of a fire alarm system which is installed at various places as a protective measure against fire; sounds an alarm when actuated by a fire detection system. Fire Alarm System is essential to warn all occupants that a fire or emergency situation exists. Sometimes fire detection and alarm systems are used to compensate or to give special cover for items of high value. In case of fire early detection of smoke and heat helps in fighting the fire effectively & extinguishing it in nascent stage. Thus by early detection, we can prevent the fire from spreading in turn saving life and loss of property and business.
A fire alarm system warns people when smoke, fire, carbon monoxide or other fire-related emergencies are detected. There are two types of fire alarm initiating devices: manual and automatic. At the core of a fire alarm system are the detection devices, from sophisticated intelligent smoke detectors to simple manually operated break glass units, there are a wide array of different types, but we can divide them into groups including:
– Heat detectors
– Smoke detectors
– Carbon Monoxide detectors
– Multi-sensor detectors
– Manual Call Points

FIRE DETECTION AND ELETRICAL POWER ON/OFF CONTROL IN HOME/INDUSTRY USING GSMSaikiran Perfect
The idea behind this project is to use the existing GSM infrastructure. So, all the operations involve the GSM system also. As we send any SMS, it goes through the GSM system. Any sent SMS can be received if we use a SIM card and GSM module. To operate any GSM modem, we have to use the AT commands to operate them. For example, if any SMS arrives the GSM modem sends the serial data in ASCII format. We can read these data if we connect the modem with the serial port of the microcontroller at the baud rate of 9600. As the microcontroller comes to know that a SMS has been arrived, it can sent a proper AT command to read the SMS. The reading of SMS returns the mobile number of sender, the time and much more information. We have to select the SMS part of the message. The starting string of the SMS is used as the password. As the password is matched, then the SMS arrival is assumed to be valid by the microcontroller otherwise, it ignores the SMS. Working of “FIRE DETECTION AND ELETRICAL POWER ON/OFF CONTROL IN HOME/INDUSTRY USING GSM” is very simple.
Fire Alarm Systems fall broadly into two groups - Conventional Systems or Analogue Addressable Systems.
• Conventional Fire Alarm Control System
• Analogue Addressable Fire Alarm System

Assessment of Entrance Skin Dose in routine x-ray examinations of chest, skul...IOSR Journals
It is assumed that children are more susceptible to the effects of ionizing radiation and so deserves
special attention. Entrance skin doses (ESD) and Effective dose (E) to pediatric patients were estimated during
chest, skull, abdomen and pelvis examination in five Nigeria hospitals using DoseCal software. The mean ESD
for Chest (PA) in age range 1 – 5 in the five hospitals (H1 – H5) were 70, 139, 130, 105 and 111μGy,
respectively. The median ESD values in all the examinations were compared with the NRPB and EC reference
level and were found to be lower except for Chest PA and Chest Lateral examinations. The mean effective doses
were compared with those found in literature and were found to be comparable. Data shows that there is
variation in the result of the ESD obtained and so adherence to guidelines should be demonstrated

Why You Should Replace Windows 11 with Nitrux Linux 3.5.0 for enhanced perfor...SOFTTECHHUB
The choice of an operating system plays a pivotal role in shaping our computing experience. For decades, Microsoft's Windows has dominated the market, offering a familiar and widely adopted platform for personal and professional use. However, as technological advancements continue to push the boundaries of innovation, alternative operating systems have emerged, challenging the status quo and offering users a fresh perspective on computing.
One such alternative that has garnered significant attention and acclaim is Nitrux Linux 3.5.0, a sleek, powerful, and user-friendly Linux distribution that promises to redefine the way we interact with our devices. With its focus on performance, security, and customization, Nitrux Linux presents a compelling case for those seeking to break free from the constraints of proprietary software and embrace the freedom and flexibility of open-source computing.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

DETERMINING LAYOUT OF THE
FIRE DETECTORS
• The design, construction and operational features of all types of
detectors shall be in accordance with relevant standards.
• The number of fire detectors to be installed is governed by
• total area to be protected
• type of ship construction
• air movement & air velocity
• panelling obstructions
• concentration of equipment in the area covered
• sensitivity required
• Area is divided into zones to be protected
• The zones of individual detectors should overlap and no blind
zone should be left.
EA IV TA SENEVIRATHNA
16. 15
• Areas above false ceiling and below false flooring shall be
considered as separate zones.
• Under ideal conditions of smooth ceiling and average room
size, one detector is recommended to protect the area.
• Ionisation type detectors should be located where the largest
combustible gas concentration can be expected.
• In the air conditioned areas both ionisation and optical type
smoke detectors are used.
• Detectors must always installed at the highest point of the
ceiling and minimum coverage indicated by manufacture shall
be considered.
• The number of detectors and their location should be so
selected that complete coverage is obtained
