This document analyzes the financial feasibility of solar photovoltaic (SPV) and solar parabolic trough (SPT) power plants for a village in Rajasthan, India. Population and energy consumption data for the village are forecasted for years 2015, 2019, and 2024. Based on the projected energy demands, SPV and SPT plants of appropriate sizes are proposed. Capital costs for SPV and SPT plants are estimated for the analysis years. A financial analysis is conducted for each plant type under four scenarios: pre-tax, post-tax, pre-tax with equity, post-tax with equity. Key financial indicators such as IRR, payback period, and NPV are calculated and
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has the power of
deciding the tariff for electricity generated by various power stations.
Tariff is calculated on the basis of capacity charge (fixed cost) and energy
charge (variable cost). The various components of capacity charge on
which the tariff depends are return on equity, interest on capital loan,
depreciation, interest on working capital, operation & maintenance cost,
cost of secondary oil. The components of energy charge are primary fuel
costs, secondary fuel oil consumption and auxiliary energy consumption.
Tariffs are classified into nominal, discount and levelized tariff. Tariff
calculations for 250 MW thermal power plants have been discussed in this
paper.

Performance Evaluation of Alaoji Thermal Power PlantIJAEMSJORNAL
Electricity supply in Nigeria is epileptic and characterized by extensive outages. The new NIPP plants constructed have not improved the power situation in the country. The performance of Alaoji Thermal Power Station being one of the new NIPP plants with an installed capacity of 504.4MW (consisting of 4 X 126.1MW GE frame-9EA gas turbines) was studied. The study evaluated the performance of the plant for the period of January to December, 2016. The key performance indices involved were CF, PUF, LF, and AF. The required data for the analysis were obtained from the plant’s operational records and personal interview of the relevant staff. The results of the study are shown in Table 1 – 2 and figures 1 – 7 for running hours, energy generated, load factor, availability factor, shortfall in energy generation and plant use factor respectively. When the obtained values were weighed against the international best practice of 80% (LF), 50 - 70% (PUF) and 95% (AF). Shortfall in energy generation ranged from 1.4% to 90.5%, this is in excess of 5 – 10% average acceptable value. The Average PUF was 20.1%, indicating that the plant was grossly underutilized during the study period. The plant had a capacity factor ranging from 7.1 - 37.5% with an average CF of 20% for the review period. It was evident from the results that the plant performed poorly during the period under review. This was attributed to grid restrictions, insufficient gas supply and unavailability of spare parts for maintenance. It is suggested that the management should address the challenges so as to enhance the performance of the plant.

Economics of Power Generation
A power station is required to deliver
power to a large number of consumers
to meet their requirements. While de-
signing and building a power station, efforts
should be made to achieve overall economy so
that the per unit cost of production is as low as
possible. This will enable the electric supply
company to sell electrical energy at a profit and
ensure reliable service. The problem of deter-
mining the cost of production of electrical en-
ergy is highly complex and poses a challenge to
power engineers. There are several factors which
influence the production cost such as cost of land
and equipment, depreciation of equipment, inter-
est on capital investment etc. Therefore, a care-
ful study has to be made to calculate the cost of
production. In this chapter, we shall focus our
attention on the various aspects of economics of
power generation.
Small Power Generation Plant solution (SPGP) continues to be an important segment of Electrical Energy production. The increasing demand for energy has to be satisfied while considering the impact on the global environment. SPGP plays an important role in industrial applications. Small size cogeneration plants sited close to industrial energy consumption can deliver power with high fuel efficiency and low emissions, and with modest space requirements. CRDenergy can offer to its customers complete solutions from feasibility studies to the actual turnkey cogeneration plant construction, aftermarket services and customized financial solutions. We are using oil and gas industrial port city Port Harcourt city (PH) in Nigeria, African largest economy as a case study, with its complexity, it reflects the shortage of power or barriers and opportunity encountered in every growing economy . Avoiding the structural complexity of building large scale power plant; SPGP offers a flexible, realiable, close to consumer option that can be multipled in multiple units and easily transformed to negbourhood service station in industrial hubs.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
