The document discusses typography research for a final media project on a psychological thriller. It summarizes researching fonts on DaFonts and analyzing fonts from example thriller titles and films. Key findings include that sans serif fonts are most conventional for thrillers to seem modern. Font 3 is the most similar to researched thriller fonts but font 4 may work best for credits. Further research is needed to find a title font more fitting of psychological thrillers before finalizing typography choices.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
2. As part of my final research I decided to look at what fonts I intend to use
for the title and other elements of my production. The reason why I want to
look at the fonts within my research is so that my font reflect my products
well, because it will be a main element of all the products to be able to
keep all the products cohesive.Which would help my work look overall
more professional .
3. The website that I am going to use
to create and research is DaFonts. I
am using this website because it
was what I used as part of myAS
production and the fonts worked
well for my opening in the thriller
genre.
I also want to use this website
because it was easy to use and
have a range of different fonts that
could be used for my products.
4. To be able to boost my knowledge of the fonts conventionally used within thriller trailer and films. I
decide to look at some examples of thriller film titles to get a better idea at the key elements within it.
Some of the film fonts that I used for my research were:
The reason why I chose to look at theses fonts in more detail is because they all have similarities,
which may help me identify main the convention of thriller film fonts . But there are differences
which may give me ideas as to how I could subvert some of thriller font conventions in order to reflex
the narrative of the film.
5. One of the main conventions of thriller fonts is the use of sans serif fonts. This font is shown
in all the typography that I am going to research apart from ‘the bodyguard’ .This may be
because san-serif font are stereotypically associated with younger people because it is seen
as less traditional therefore connotes that it is current and something that younger people
are interested in.
The reason why ‘the bodyguard’ may have decided to go against convention and use a serif
font is because it could be used to symbolise more formal and established themes within the
film which may also appeal to a older audience, which therefore makes it appeal to a larger
audience .
6. Although the majority of the fonts are part of the same category they all have differences which
look unique to their film or franchise which help them become instantly recognisable to their
market as well as boosting their cohesive marketing.
An example of this is the film seven because it has distinctive lettering with it having the effect of
it being painted on with a paint brush because of black specs within the typography. As a well as
this the typography includes smudges around the letters which is not conventional to
typography, because it make it less readable.
7. The colour of the text is also an important element within typography. The main colours
used within the typography of all of my examples are red, white, black and dark blue and
purple. These colour are all conventional for typography for thriller films.
The reason why red is conventionally used in all elements of thriller films is because it
connotes danger and blood which are commonly associated with the thriller genre. The
colour black also is commonly used and associated with thriller because it symbolises things
with a dark and unsettling nature which are link with main theme and narratives within most
thriller films. This can also be used to explain the reason why dark blue and purple are also
used within thriller films. The colour white is also used mainly for the typography within
thriller films because it help it stand out against the darker colours as well as connoting a
binary opposite, which are common conventions in thriller films.
9. WHAT I LIKE ABOUTTHETYPOGRAPGHY
The reason why I chose font 1 was because it was a sans serif font which was very stereotypical of
thriller films as well as the sub genre of psychological thrillers. This is because it is a bold readable
san-serf font which is in black which is bold colour that stands out against a range of background
colours.
I also choose font number because although it is a serif font I believe that it still connotes the sub
genre I have chosen and may work well with the more sinister nature of the narrative I have
chosen.
The third I have chosen is a thin slanted sans serif font. The reason why I chose this is because it is
stereotypically the most conventional to the thriller genre and is the most similar to the fonts I had
researched.
Font number 4 is a spaced out sans serif font which has a typewriter style font. The reason I why I
chose to look at tis font is because I think that I works well with some of the themes of the thriller
genre and it also may look conventional for the credits of my trailer.
10. WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUTTHE
TYPOGRAPHY
One thing that I don’t like about font 1 is that it not as conventional to psychological thriller as some
of the other fonts I have looked at therefore may not be the right choice because I have decided to
stick to conventions for my psychological thriller trailer and ancillaries.
A part of font two that may not fit with my final products is that it connotes more of a horror theme
than a psychological thriller therefore
The main thing that I dislike about font 3 is that it looks more conventional to the sub genre of s is
action thrillers than a psychological thriller. Although this font is the one that I like the best out of all
the ones I have looked at for the title of my thriller trailer.
After look at font 4 I have decided that this is a font that I would not use for the typography of the
title for my media product. The reason for this is because
11. FONTS ITHINK I'M GOINGTO USE
So far the only font that I have decided that I am defiantly going to use for my final media
products is font 4. I am going to use this as font used for parts of the magazine and poster
text as well as the all typography in the thriller apart from the title.
I still will look at the other fonts I found on DaFonts but I am going to look at more
typography throughout the rest of my research and planning to find typography that better
that is more conventional for my final piece.
