2. The colour scheme that use in my media products will be an important way to create
my brand identity. The main reason for this is that if I use the same colour scheme for
my trailer and both my ancillary tasks I will help me create cohesion between all my
media products. This will therefore create cohesive marketing throughout my work
because of the similar elements in all products. This will, also make my work look
more professional because it sticks to conventions.
The colours I intend to use in my media products mostly consists of the colour black,
red and white. This is because the colours are all conventional to the psychological
thriller genre. They may be conventional because the colour symbolise things of a
dark nature as well as violence and blood, which are stereotypically seen in
psychological thrillers.
3. The images that I’m going to for both my ancillary tasks (poster and magazine cover)
are going to help me establish a brand identity. This is because by having similar
images, involving similar characters it will make it clearer to the audience that these
are all marketing for the same film. The use of similar images with at least one of the
characters appearing in all of the branding, usually the protagonist is conventional for
the film trailers, posters and magazines in most genres including thrillers.
The image that I'm thinking of using for both my magazine and posters ancillary task
is one of the victim centrally composed in the shot with low-key lighting, which I will
use to symbolised that she is alone. Although this may change when I've finished the
planning stage of my production.
4. The magazine brand that I decide to choose for my magazine cover ancillary will
effect the way that all parts of my production are viewed in terms of the brand as a
whole. The reason for this is because certain magazine have certain types of films
which they commonly use on their covers. Therefore in order for my piece to look
conventional, which would strengthen the brand identity of my media product. I need
to use a magazine brand that is stereotypically associated with thriller films.
For this reason I have decided that I’m going to use the magazine brand empire. This
is because in the majority of empire magazine the main feature on the cover is from
either the genre of thriller or action films.
5. Another way that I’m going to keep brand identity within my production is by using
similar or the same conventional fonts in both my main task and two ancillary
products. The reason for this is because by using the same or similar fonts all of the
products for the film will all connote the same thing, which is a convectional to media
products because it helps with cohesive marketing.
For my products I have decided that I am mainly going to use sans serif fonts for my
piece because they are stereotypical and conventional for thriller films because the
font caters to the same audience as thriller film because the font is seen as less
formal like thriller film trailer which aren’t normally see as a formal type of media.
