What You Need to Know About Medical Electrical Standards Updates (and how the...Greenlight Guru
Medical Electrical Standards are constantly being updating.
So how do you stay up-to-date on all these changes? Are you considering the implication of these standards when putting together your regulatory strategy? Do you know what standards are coming down the line and how they may impact your product design? Are these standards harmonized in different markets? Does your test lab always know what versions of standards you need to test too?
This presentation will cover:
-What medical electrical and related standards are being updated now and how they interact with each other.
-What is the schedule for the IEC 60601 Amendment Projects and what other standards (i.e. ISO 14971, IEC 62366-1, IEC 62304) will impact the project?
-Overview of the recently released Wireless Coexistence Standards for US.
-Why you may need to redesign your product to meet the EMC Standard IEC 60601-1-2:2014 (4th Ed.).
-How does testing under the CB Scheme impact your testing and regulatory strategies?
-Resources to keep track of standards from both a regulatory and standards development perspective.

Our speaker this week is David Peng. David has more than 25 years of experience in the electronics industry, 15 of which were at EMS companies. At Foxconn, he led 60 R&D teams, and served as a Sony strategy product PM for more than 2 years. David's also led the product management and marketing departments at LiteOn Corp and Jabil Circuit for many years. He has rich knowledge and experience in designing products, marketing promotion, and project management. David has now established SlingX Corp. with his partner, Wade Ho, to share their experiences and contacts to provide quality services and advice to startups and entrepreneurs.
Most lectures tell startups and entrepreneurs they should follow the PLM design processes, but rarely tell them “how” to design a good product. In his talk, David wants to discuss 8 key processes in designing a product from the viewpoint of design and project management.

The second half of 2015 brings numerous developments for compliance. China's new Food Safety Law introduces harsher standards and punishments, the Bangladeshi prosecutors bring murder charges against the owners of Rana Plaza and the Tazreen factory, while the UK's Modern Slavery Act demands more transparency in global supply chains. A recent AI whitepaper analyzes the impact of consumer awareness on modern-day slavery and examines the scale of the problem in more detail. Growth in the Southeast continues, while the yuan depreciation is expected to strongly affect China's major imports, particularly Indian textile and apparel.
Will Consumer Awareness Put an End to Modern Slavery?QIMA
Slavery is not a thing of the past. Today there are an estimated 21 to 36 million slaves worldwide, 26% of whom are children.
There is a misconception that slaves are limited to the sex industry. 78% are not; they are in global supply chains contributing to cheaply priced goods.
This White Paper will give you insights on the real picture of modern slavery today and the growing momentum (and pressure) on global brands and retailers.

AsiaInspection today announces the AsiaInspection 2013 Q2 Barometer, a quarterly synopsis of Asia-based manufacturing and the quality control services industry. Bangladesh was once again the major focus in Q2 after a factory collapse in Dhaka on 13 May killed over 1,100 people. During Q2 there were also continuous reports of deaths in factory fires which kept Bangladesh in the limelight.
Meanwhile, AsiaInspection saw a +56% increase in Social Audit orders including, notably, Fire Safety Audits in Asia in Q2 2013 compared to Q2 2012. In particular, Bangladesh orders increased +64% with other Asian countries following close behind; China (+41%) and India (+53%).
Este trimestre, el Barómetro de AsiaInspection se sumerge en el estado actual de las tareas de producción y comercio por todo el planeta, especialmente centrándose en América y China. Visita http://www.asiainspection.com si quiere saber más.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
