Bendectin Case
Their conclusions were based upon in vitro (test tube) and in vivo (live) animal studies that found a
link between Bendectin and malformations; basically that the chemical structure of Bendectin was
similar to other other substances known to cause birth defects; and the reanalysis of previously
published epidemiological (human statistical) studies. In neither essence the submitted documents
were never published nor peer reviewed articles demonstrated a link between Bendectin and birth
defects. Merrell Dow had introduced evidence that no epidemiological study ever performed had
concluded that the use of Bendectin by pregnant women significantly correlated with the incidence of
birth defects in those women s children (Atikian, 1994 p.1516). ... Show more content on

137, 141 (1999). Patrick Carmichael blew out the right rear tire of a minivan and in the incident one of
the passengers died, and others were seriously injured. A diversity suit was brought against the tire
maker, Kumho Tire Co., and its distributors, claiming that the tire was defective. Rule of Law: Federal
Rules of Evidence (FRE) Rule 702 gives the district judge discretion to determine reliability of
evidence in regards to the circumstances and facts of a particular case. Dennis Carlson Jr. testified as
an expert witness for the petitioners as a tire failure analyst, intending that the tire s manufacture or
design caused the blow out. Whereas his opinion was based on visual and tactile inspection of the tire;
upon this theory this sort of tire failure was the result of a defect and not tire abuse. The petitioner s
moved to exclude Mr. Carlson s testimony on the ground that his methodology failed to satisfy Federal
Rules of Evidence Rule 702. The District Court granted the petitioner s summary judgment motion
arguing that in examining the factors set out in Daubert v Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals. Inc. Mr.
Carlson s methodology is not reliable. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals
reversed, held that the District Court erred as a matter of law in applying Daubert, and held that the
Daubert factors did not apply to Mr. Carlson s testimony. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). Judge Stephen
Breyer delivered the opinion for the United States Supreme Court holding that the Daubert factors
may apply to the testimony of engineers and other experts who are not scientists. The District Courts
decision to not admit Mr. Carlson s expert testimony was lawful because it found his methodology
unreliable after appropriate examinations (Rule 702,

Courage In The Film, Pursuit Of Happyness, And WALL-E
Courage, determination and perseverance all relate together. In my opinion you can t have one without
the other, and you can relate these three things to any aspects of your life whether you are in a low
point in your life or on top of the world. You won t have a life lesson where none of these three words
are related to that life lesson, and that goes for both movies. Chris was taught to always fight for what
you want and don t ever give up, and WALL E fought for making earth a better place and he never
gave up. In the movie Pursuit of Happyness, these three words are expressed I think as best as
possible. My definition of courage is taking a bet on your bravery towards an event that would change
your result. Harvard did an article on the steps of learning courage as a skill and using it in situations.
One main step I saw in the article was Setting Goals which would be the reason that you are going to

Kidney Stone Diseases
Since the occurrence and progression of various human pathological conditions have been proposed to
have an involvement of uric acid (UA), a number of researchers have therefore attempted to elucidate
the potential roles of UA underlying the pathogenesis of UA related diseases (1, 2). Among these, UA
is well documented in kidney stone diseases since it serves as not only a main crystalline composition
of pure UA but also a principal risk factor for hyperuricosuric calcium oxalate (CaOx) kidney stone
disease (3, 4). These two kidney stones account for a significant percentage of stone forming patients
and have an increasing prevalence worldwide over the past few decades. Nevertheless, the molecular
mechanisms underlying UA related kidney stone diseases are still not well understood. ... Show more

UA can widely affect various cellular functions; therefore, the tight control of serum UA level is
necessary to maintain cellular homeostasis under normal circumstances. Kidney serves as a major
excretory organ to control a balance of UA by which excessive UA is eliminated from the body
through urine (5). Consequently, the defective renal handling of UA can cause an imbalance in UA
levels in plasma and urine, and contribute to the development of several diseases, especially kidney
stone disease (1, 4). Hyperuricosuria is typically defined as an excess of urinary uric acid; greater than
800 mg/day in men and greater than 750 mg/day in women, which has been recognized as one of the
most common metabolic abnormalities in kidney stone patients (6). However, potential roles of UA in
renal system underlying kidney stone pathogenesis have been largely

Blackberry Limited And Its Impact On Consumer Market
BlackBerry Limited. (2014). BlackBerry Limited Does it Have a Future in the Consumer Market, 1
26.
This case study analyzed why BlackBerry has recently suffered a bled market share in customer
sector, which has resulted in dramatic losses of billions of dollars. The failure of its newest operating
system, BlackBerry 10, was the direct reason that forced BlackBerry to implement significant changes
in both senior management and target market. The study also elaborated on BlackBerry s attempts of
cutting costs, restructuring operations and maintaining customers. As a result, it pointed out that
BlackBerry is still capable to tap on consumer market on a much smaller scale.
BlackBerry Limited SWOT Analysis. (2014). Research in Motion Limited SWOT Analysis, 1 10.
This research analyzed BlackBerry Limited through the method of SWOT analysis. The SWOT
analysis it conducted was based on the facts that Blackberry had experienced a significant decrease of
38.5% in revenue during the fiscal year 2014. Compared to BlackBerry s apparent weaknesses like
poor financial performance and delayed product launches, it still holds strengths in terms of enterprise
services, product design and device development. The positive outlook for smartphone and tablet
markets will provide BlackBerry a great chance and motivation to develop new devices. Meanwhile,
the cooperation with Foxconn is also a potential to drag up BlackBerry s sales. However, threats such

Ethnicity In Nigeria
Nigeria is part of the 16 countries in West Africa. Nigeria has different groups of ethnicity and has a
population of about 186 million. Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups. The ethnic groups have different
belief and practices (VANGUARD,2017). The country is well known for its oil natural resources
which provides most of their gross domestic product. The largest groups are the Hausa in the north,
the Yoruba in the southwest and the Igbo (or Ibo) in the southeast, who account for around a fifth of
the population each. The languages of these three groups can therefore be used in government. Other
large groups include the Ijaw in the east and the Fulani in the north. Nigeria is divided into 36 states.
In this essay I will discuss the cultural in the northern states, southern states and other cultural
practices strongly encourage.
In the 13 northern states, the vast majority of people are Muslim. The Hausa have been Muslims for
almost a thousand years, having been converted to Islam by Arab traders and merchants from the 10th
century. Sharia law was introduced into the northern Nigerian states from 2000. This is a code for how
Muslims should lead their lives. It is thought to have been drawn up by Muslim scholars in the early
centuries of Islam, with parts of it taken directly from the Koran. As in other countries, northern
Nigeria uses the code as a basis for its criminal law. However, some of the harsher penalties, such as
death by stoning for adultery, have never been

Strengthening Teeth
These Teeth Strengthening Hacks Will Save Your Pearly Whites!
As adults, a lot of us think that there s not much more that we can do to take care of our teeth than to
brush and floss. However, there s no escaping the aftermath of having brittle teeth. Good thing that
with a few and simple lifestyle changes, adults can strengthen their teeth more.
Aside from good oral hygiene, we can always prevent tooth decay and promote remineralization
through these simple tips.
Your teeth need its dose of fluoride.
Fluoride is a natural element that is known to effectively strengthen the tooth enamel. It works by
remineralizing teeth, making your pearly whites more resistant to decay and the harmful effects of
acid. We can benefit from the wonders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Foods that contain fluoride can help keep the teeth durable. Stock on green tea packs the next time you
shop for groceries. While green tea is rich in fluoride, it also contains catechin polyphenols that can
help fight tooth decay and gum disease. Red wine and cranberry juices are also polyphenol rich
beverages that effectively battle decay causing bacteria but you have to reconsider their teeth staining
effect before drowning in them. Of course, calcium rich foods, such as cheese, salmon, sardines, and
dark leafy green veggies are power choices for teeth strengthening.
Strong teeth and gums are the key combo.
Strong teeth will be nothing if the gums are not healthy, which is why it is best to focus on both. Aside
from calcium itself, the body needs vitamin D for its bones to absorb the ingested calcium. Another
bone booster, which is vitamin A, also keeps the bones and the teeth strong. Plus, anchor your teeth in
healthy gums by making sure you have enough vitamin C in your system. This keeps the connective
tissues at their tiptop shape.
If you need help in getting enough fluoride that your teeth needs, we can provide you with fluoride
treatments. For more information, dial our number to book an

spend most of my time on the ice doing my drills, practicing, or even just fooling around with my
friends at a fun stick time. The rink is freezing for most people but not for me being used to the

you are sitting you get a good taste of the action.

Titus Movie Essay
Titus (1999) is a movie adaption of one of the earliest and least known plays of Shakespeare, Titus
Andronicus . Directed by Julie Taymor, the movie takes you to another reality, and you can t quite
understand whether it is a dystopian future or a time mixed world. From soldiers using swords, to
using guns, from riding horses to motorcycles and tanks, you are left with the unanswered question to
which point in time the story is taking place. The movie, as bloody and gruesome as the play is
visually beautiful and sometimes difficult to watch.
The movie starts with a little boy playing in the kitchen in a twisted way with toy soldiers and after an
explosion he get s taken to ancient Rome in the middle of Coliseum. He then becomes part of the
whole story, sometimes even making you wonder if the whole movie is being dreamed by the little
boy. Titus (Anthony Hopkins) returns victorious in Rome after years of fighting against the Goths. He
comes back with his last four living sons , the captured Queen of Goths Tamora (Jessica Lange) , her
two sons and Aaron the Moor (Harry Lennix). He sacrifices Tamora s eldest son despite her begging
and tears, making this way a mortal enemy and planting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

making it an all time tragedy. The costumes are a mixture between ancient times capes and soldier
uniforms with nowadays black leather jackets. The metallic, black, white, red and blue colors used for
the costumes are purposefully chosen to give a cold image and uneasiness. The change of the setting
from ancient Rome to a fascist Italy, the change of music from orchestral, to rock, to jazz to electronic
styles it just gives the movie a time travel feeling. And all is done so smoothly it feels that everything

Ted Bundy Essay example
Ted Bundy
Throughout history, criminal investigators have encountered different forms of serial killers. One of
the many famous serial killers in the twentieth century was Theodore Robert Bundy (Ted Bundy). Ted
Bundy was responsible for the Chi Omega killings and many more. When people think of serial
killers, they visualize some dirty, crazy, looking individual that would stand out from everybody else.
In Ted s case this was different. Ted Bundy was a very smart individual who had attended college at
various colleges, studying law and finally receiving his degree in psychology from the University of
Washington. He had volunteered for the Republican Party in California for a Governor campaign. His

Ted Bundy case agencies from different states worked together in the apprehension of Bundy. The
conviction of Ted Bundy was credit towards good criminal investigation; with police cooperation,
forensic evidence and the witnesses statements. The police cooperation was the first initial process of
the investigation. The murders had started in Seattle, Washington on January 31, 1974. Ted Bundy was
living in Seattle and attending school at the University of Washington at that present time. The first
reported victim was a twenty one year old by the name of Lynda Ann Healy. She had been abducted
from her apartment and the officers could only find her nightgown that was neatly hung up in her
closest with blood on it and her sheets also had traces of blood. The police conducted searches but was
unable to find Lynda. On March 12, Donna Gail Mason at Evergreen State College located in
Olympia, Washington was last seen leaving her dorm to attend a concert. She was later reported
missing and was not located. In Ellensburg, Washington at Central Washington State College Susan

Third-Class Status Of Indigenous Community
The factors discussed up until now have involved obvious discrepancies towards indigenous
communities, but the one to follow is more subtle and has gone un noticed for too long and needs to
be brought to attention. The perpetuation of a second or even third class status of indigenous people,
the old origins of this status is still largely present in societies around the world, and this
misconception has been widely adopted. Their negative depiction in cinematography and the failure to
properly educate up and coming generations on indigenous people, contributes to the minuscule
progress that has occurred in recognizing and respecting indigenous rights. As liberals believe in the
importance of teachings as a means of spreading awareness and sharing a cooperative and progressive

The Pricing Strategy Of T Shirts
This type of pricing gives customers a good deal and encourages them to buy more which saves on
packaging in which seller gives quantity discount. In this case the bundle of 5 T shirts s priced lower
than the sum of the price of individual T shirt. This type of pricing is based on the demand schedule
where customers may have high willingness to pay for T shirt but not for 5 T shirts, and the pricing
discount is to match customer willingness to pay. 5 T shirts are packed for one price using a bundling
pricing which is a second degree price discrimination that used to extract consumer surplus. This is an
example of a promotional bundle in the mixed bundling category in which the bundled price of the 5
Tshirt is lower than the total price of individual product price added together. The consumers have the
choice of buying packs of 5 T shirts or buying a T shirt without the pack. In this pricing strategy
identical T shirts are packaged together in order to enhance profits by forcing customers to make an all
decision. The mixed bundling pricing provides a means by which the company can get the consumer
to pay the full value of the 5 units of packaging 5 T shirt a product and selling them as one package,
the company can earn more than selling per T shirt price. The profit maximizing price is the 5 T shirt
for $10 on a pack is the total value the consumer receives for the package, including consumer surplus
and business could enhance profits even consumers have identical demands.

Exploratory Job
What exploratory shop did I find most interesting? For me it was a close tie between culinary and
business, with the former being slightly more interesting due to the hands on elements of shop.
Because I was interested in both shops, I decided to research a career which has elements of both:
food service management. This field combines aspects of business with the culinary arts, making it an
attractive option for someone like me.
So what does a food service manager do? In short, they manage the entire restaurant. Typical
obligations include employee management, food/supply procurement, equipment inspection, financial
record keeping, and complaint address. Other duties including overseeing food preparation,
scheduling, and establishing personnel and customer service standards also fall on a food service
manager. To fulfill all these jobs, most food service managers work long shifts for 40 hours a week or

There is a projected growth of employment of 5% in the next 8 years, as population growth elevates

However, in an effort to save costs, many of these establishments will hire less employees as time
goes on, and consequently fewer food service managers.
So how will culinary help me advance my career goals? Taking the shop will provide me with a
valuable introduction to restaurant basics. With the skills I learn I will then be able to get hired in a

if I can successfully become a food service manager, I will have a career that combines both my

The Seven Trumpets Interpreted In The Bible
Trumpets mentioned in the Bible are interpreted as an announcement, a warning, or a way to praise
God. In the Old Testament, the shofar is predominantly mentioned and the silver trumpet as well. The
Feasts of the Trumpets announces that Jesus will return and a new life will come. Not only do the
seven trumpets reveal a signal, but they are prophecies that are preparing the followers of Jesus and
enter the Kingdom of God. The seven trumpets states that events will occur with each involving its
own purpose. God has his ways of making himself known, if these trumpets have a significant
meaning, it should make people aware of their actions and preparing themselves for the day of
judgment. In the Bible the first day of the seventh month happens ... Show more content on

As stated in the first two trumpets, is WWII triggered by this? The third trumpet has some type of
connection as the Chernobyl disaster as well (End of Time 2014). The fourth trumpet is linked to the
new world order , when Ronald Reagan was President in 1989. The fifth trumpet is prophesized to
have a connection with the Gulf war and the Iraqi soldiers spilling over 800 oil wells around the
deserts of Kuwait (End of Time 2014). Suddam Hussein being their president which in Hebrew means
destroyer as stated in Rev 9:11, could this actually be coincidence or a prophecy? At the end, God will
come and judge those on Earth. I believe that some of these events have occurred and are occurring
today. Whether people believe in these prophecies or not, God makes himself known though the
trumpets. The Bible is revealing how this will end, God wants to save everyone. He wants for people
to follow the Word of God, but those who do not believe will end up suffering the most. I believe that
these revelations and the symbolism of the trumpets are a way for people to get closer to God before it
is too late. As Jesus told the disciples, I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does

Role Of Fate In Oedipus The King
The theme of Fate (deed of the gods) versus free will (personal choices and actions) is ever present in
Greek drama. It is the concept that the lead character of a drama has no control over his Fate, which is
preconceived and inevitable. On the other hand, it has been argued that the character did have a choice
in the matter, and ultimately, it s their choices that lead to their destiny being fulfilled. In this essay, I
will be exploring the role of the gods in Sophocles Oedipus the King, and whether or not they are to
blame for his tragic downfall.
Oedipus the King begins with the audience gaining the knowledge that Thebes is in a state of disarray.
This, according to the oracle of Delphi, is due to the fact that the previous king, Laius, has not been
avenged, and that the only way Thebes will return to its previous glory is if the king s murderer takes
account for his actions (Sophocles). Oedipus, the noble and intellectual man that he is, makes a
promise to find whoever was responsible for the death of Laius, and make them atone for their sins. ...

And yet he has been led, either by blind chance or cruel gods, to commit the basest of crimes. All of
this suggests...that human beings are playthings of chance or indifferent gods and hence that it is
impossible for human beings to live nobly or to win the favour and protection of the gods
(Ahrensdorf, 2009).
In conclusion, I believe that the fates played a greater role than we are lead to believe, but I also
believe that the decisions made by all the characters played a pivotal role in the outcome of the drama.
The characters were most definitely given a freedom of choice when it came to almost every decision
they made, but the fates definitely put obstacles in their way, which would inevitably cause them to be
swayed to make rash

Stress And Its Effect On Stress Essay
Stress s definition according to college text book Psychology in my life, stress is; a group of
behavioral, mental and physical processes occurring when events match or exceed the organism s
ability to respond in a healthy way. When we think about stress it comes across as something that s
only negative, but stress in moderation can be good. This type of stress is known as being acute stress,
it s good and bad stress. When frequently experiencing acute stress for long periods at a time it s
becomes a little more sever stress know as episodic. Although episodic stress isn t the most serve kind
of stress, chronic stress is the more deadly types of stress. Theorist found that we experience things

Summary Of One Child By Torey Hayden
One Child, is a beautifully compelling story about a teacher who was given a student that was misled

During the time that Torey and Sheila had together, Sheila began developing into a pleasant and
prosperous child that loved to learn and was very intelligent. Also, at this time Sheila grew closer to
her classmates and began to have bonded with others. Torey Hayden stated, I taught what was

Emerson s Metaphor Of Self Reliance
Through excellent metaphors, Emerson stresses that you must first trust yourself to achieve greatness
from your own genius, to realize your potential, and to be self reliant. Your inner genius, when tapped
into, allows you to build self reliance. Some people might argue that you only need to depend on
yourself. If you are totally self reliant you re going to have a narrow perspective because you can only
pull from your own life experiences or from your own family s or community s involvement.
However, I am arguing that Emerson uses strong metaphors to show that even with a belief in
individualism and self reliance, one must also trust other sources such as society and God.
You must believe in yourself first and foremost to achieve self reliance ... Show more content on

The individual must also love Him. Emerson states, Love, which is the essence of God, is not for
levity, but for the total worth of man. (1518) You cannot love God without loving yourself and vice
versa. Where there is love, there is trust. God created society; God created us; we must trust and love
all of creation. My friends have come to me unsought. The great God gave them to me, (1452) says
Emerson. A gift granted by God is worth as much love as one shows himself. I find them, or rather,
not I, but the Deity in me and in them, both deride and cancel the thick walls of individual character.
(1453) Society can become jovial and loving when the trust and love transcends the physical and
becomes part of God. When we are all in tune and play our notes, the chords sound wonderful and a

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors ( Ssris )
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have been prescribed by physicians for many years
now. One reason SSRIs are so popular is because of the many mental disorders they can be used for
such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, and many more (Weitzel
Jiwanlal, 2001). The four major types of SSRIs that are most commonly used by people with mental
disorders are fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), and citalopram hydrobromide
(Celexa); SSRIs work on the brain by acting on the reuptake pathway of serotonin (Stone, 2010).
There are some advantages for taking SSRIs. One advantage is that SSRIs have fewer side effects than
most of the other antidepressant medications such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and
tricyclics (Weitzel Jiwanlal, 2001). Another advantage is that SSRIs have less of a risk of toxicity in
overdose (Lane, Baldwin, Preskorn, 1995). SSRIs are better tolerated than tricyclic antidepressant
medication because they cause less sedation and problematic anticholinergic effects. There are also
reports indicating that SSRIs have fewer negative effects on the cardiovascular system than tricyclic
antidepressants (Edwards, 1992). Furthermore, some psychiatrists believe that SSRIs are an important
advancement in treating mental disorders (Edwards, 1992). One article has found evidence that SSRIs
can possibly help patients with recovery after a stroke, regardless of if they did or did not have

The Gospel Of Wealth By Andrew Carnegie
Wealth is something that not all people have, but most typically want more of it. There are many
people on Earth that wish they had more wealth, and there are even a select few that have too much.
The Gospel of Wealth by Andrew Carnegie is all about what should be done when there is too much
wealth held by an individual. Carnegie begins his essay by describing how the disparity of wealth has
changed over the years. He also describes how wealth has simply grown in general over time.
Carnegie states, What were the luxuries have become the necessaries of life . He then goes on to
discuss ways that excess wealth accumulated by any one person can be spent or distributed. There are
three ways, or modes, that Carnegie touches on in order to dispose

Francis Scott Fitzgerald s The Curious Case Of Benjamin...
Francis Scott Fitzgerald s short story The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (1922) and David Fincher
s film of the same title (2008) tell the curious story of a man who is born old and ages backwards until
his death as an infant. Fitzgerald and Fincher use different themes and techniques to tell their version
of the story meaning the outcome is completely different. Fincher s version includes a slightly
different narrative and includes an important character in Daisy. Whilst the stories of the two texts are
similar, they have a couple of significant differences. Both Fitzgerald and Fincher use different
narrative voices to tell the story of Benjamin Button, thus making the audience response completely
different. Fitzgerald uses first person narration to the reader what occurred in the story of Benjamin
Button but allows the audience judge for yourself (pg.1) that unfold throughout the story. The story is
told chronologically whilst keeping the reader emotionally detached from Benjamin and his family.
Similarly, Fincher tells the story in first person through flashbacks of diary entries being read to Daisy

Fitzgerald s version of the story is set in anti bellum Baltimore (pg.1). Fitzgerald s version is aimed at
people in that era particularly upper class people. His story is written to show the upper class nature of
people in the era and how they are more worried about their reputation than far more important things,
such as their children in the case of Benjamin Button. Benjamin s family are of an upper class nature
and were instantly worried about their reputation with Benjamin s father quickly wondering what will
people say (Pg.4). Contrastingly, Fincher s version of the story is based in more modern day setting
and is appealing to most audiences. Fincher s proves that age doesn t matter and life is what you make

Particle Swarm Optimization And Its Range Of Operation
function, their numbers and intersection value determines accuracy of the tool and its range of
operation. If the membership function covers poles values from 0 to 4 then the maximum value for
pole is 4 and the least value is 0 and same thing happens for the constants. Each unit reduces an order
of two to order of one. If a transfer function of higher order is needed to be reduced the operation is
repeated several times. For example an order 8 to 2 function reduction will reduce the 8 poles into 4
poles then the 4 new poles into the final 2 poles. E. Particle Swarm Technique
Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is initialized with a group of random particles (solutions) and then
searches for optima by updating generations. In every iteration, each particle is updated by following
two best values. The first one is the best solution (fitness) each particle has achieved so far, this value
is called Pbest. Another best value that is tracked by the particle swarm optimizer is the best value,
obtained so far by any particle in the population. This best value is a global best and called Gbest.
Each particle consists of: Data representing a possible solution, a velocity value indicating how much
the Data can be changed, a personal best (Pbest) value indicating the closest the particle s Data has
ever come to the Target.
The particles data could be anything. In the flocking birds example above, the data would be the X, Y,
Z coordinates of each bird. The individual

Function Of Insurance Essay
INSURANCE
CONCEPT: Insurance is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of a

The insurer s subrogation rights may be qualified in the policy.
In the context of insurance subrogation is a feature of the principle of indemnity and therefore only
applies to contracts of indemnity so that it does not apply to life assurance or personal accident
policies. It is intended to prevent an insured recovering more than the indemnity he receives under his
insurance (where that represents the full amount of his loss) and enables his insurer to recover or
reduce its loss.
Contribution
The right of an insurer to call on other insurers similarly, but not necessarily equally, liable to the same
insured to share the loss of an indemnity payment i.e. a travel policy may have overlapping cover with
the contents section of a household policy. The principle of contribution allows the insured to make a
claim against one insurer who then has the right to call on any other insurers liable for the loss to share
the claim payment.
Insurable Interest
If an insured wishes to enforce a contract of insurance before the Courts he must have an insurable
interest in the subject matter of the insurance, which is to say that he stands to benefit from its
preservation and will suffer from its loss.
In non marine insurances, the insured must have insurable interest when the policy is taken out and
also at the date of loss giving rise to a claim under the policy.
Proximate Cause
An insurer will only be

Watching the Solution to the Jewish Question from Afar
If you lived in the time of the Holocaust and you were a non Jewish person, would you want to take
the chance of fighting back and having the consequences of your actions affect the lives of your
family? Or would you just go with the flow and stand back as the Jewish people were punished? This
is a question that people in this time had to ask themselves. Some decided to take the chance and fight
back, but many did not. Most people, who had families to think about, chose to stand back from what
was happening. Honestly, the non Jewish people who chose to stand back had every right to make this
decision for themselves and their families.
Although the decision that was made by these people can be explained, some may not see it that way.
Some may see it that the people who chose to stand back were simply being weak or that they were
immoral. They could ve fought back if they wanted to, but they chose otherwise. They chose what
could be looked at as the, easy way out . Another side to this could be that not everyone had a family
to think about, and those who did have a family could have acted in a way that didn t get them
involved. They should ve thought that maybe if they spoke out then other people would be more
willing to stand up for what was right. If the thought that one person can t make a change crossed their
mind then they should ve tried to get more people together to fight back; they should ve tried to take a
stand. Even though this is all true, the non Jewish people

King Louis Xiv Of France
L État, c est moi ( I am the state ). Throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth century, absolute
monarchs ruled many countries and states. In an absolutist state, power and sovereignty is embodied
within one person. Absolute kings attempted to control competing institutions and jurisdictions in their
state, and secured power with the nobility. An absolute monarchy has total political power over its
sovereign state and people. King Louis XIV of France and Tsar Peter the Great of Russia were both
absolute monarchs. These two monarchs satisfied the four characteristics of absolutism: divine right of
kings, meaning they were chosen by God; skilled bureaucracy, where decisions are made by the state;
control of the economy, absolute monarchs had control of money and trading; and lastly a professional
army, the absolutist must have a permanent standing army. King Louis XIV of France was born on
September 5, 1638, he became King at age five, in 1643, and his reign lasted until 1715. King Louis
XIV satisfied the four conditions of absolutism. The divine right of kings meant Louis received his
power directly from God, loyalty to the King meant loyalty to God. The Sun King was a name given
to Louis XIV. This name associated him with the gods; the planets revolve around the sun, as France
revolves around Louis. He also had a skilled administration, which was a large bureaucracy of
departments that advised him and supported his decisions. Louis isolated the nobles and relinquished

Keating teaches his students by taking them outside the classroom to encourage them to act for
themselves and become independent. In a school of transcendentalists theses kinds of actions are
needed to encourage students that thinking outside of society s rules are outstanding. Mr. Keating and
Henry David Thoreau have a few related ideas on how society is unjust. Mr. Keating believes that the

Enzyme And The Enzyme Of Enzyme Essay
Introduction:
An enzyme is a macromolecule that works as a catalyst and speeds up chemical reactions through a
substrate that binds to the active site of the enzyme. When this process occurs, the enzyme lowers the
activation energy needed. This allows the reactant molecules to reach a state where they can complete
a reaction in most temperatures. The enzyme is not consumed when a chemical reaction is taking
place, however, it s shape changes in order to create a proper space for a substrate to bind to. Since the
enzyme is not consumed in the process of reactions, it can begin to lower the activating energy of
another process as soon as the first process is complete and it has returned to its original shape.
Without the assistance of enzymes, the pathways of metabolism in humans would be obstructed
because every process would take so long (Smith et., 2015). For every reaction completed, a different,
specific enzyme is utilized. Therefore, each location of each enzyme in the cell is very specific. The
speed of the enzyme that is being utilized is dependent on factors that are found in the environment,
for example, pH, temperature and the specific chemical reaction that will be occurring. The rate that a
catalyst can be most beneficial with regard to temperature is directly proportional to the increase in
temperature until the optimal temperature is reached. However, after the optimal temperature is
reached, if the temperature continues to be increased, the rate of the

Psychosocial Factors That Affect Adolescent s Behavior
Psychosocial Crisis in Adolescents
Adolescence is an interesting stage of development and is the fifth stage of Erikson stages of
development .According to Erikson adolescence is a time of searching for one s own identity and
developing a sense of autonomy. Trying on different selves is a common mental and behavioral
activity of adolescents who are in the process of developing an internally anchored sense of who they
are, rather than defining themselves by what others think or expect of them including their parents
(Erikson, 1968). Many normal and well behaved adolescents can be quite dramatic, impulsive and
egocentric in their behavior, but a depressed adolescent who is impulsive and dramatic can be
dangerous. The three journals reviewed explain the impact of psychosocial factors that affects
adolescent s behavior both on an individual and on a broader societal level, and psychosocial
environmental risk factors for suicide attempts in adolescents. Identity crisis is a necessary turning
point, a crucial moment, when development must move one way or another, marshaling resources of
growth, recovery, and further differentiation (Erikson 1968). In these articles certain factors around the
children that can influence this crisis in a positive or negative way were properly analyzed. Factors
considered were abusive experiences in childhood, which contribute to identity crisis and requires
social support. Parental support was mentioned in all the articles; this shows that

Of the many sorts of ethnic eateries in the United States, Italian eateries, including pizza chains, brag

The nourishments depended on home cooking, including pasta, a glue or batter thing made of wheat

  • 2. Bendectin Case Their conclusions were based upon in vitro (test tube) and in vivo (live) animal studies that found a link between Bendectin and malformations; basically that the chemical structure of Bendectin was similar to other other substances known to cause birth defects; and the reanalysis of previously published epidemiological (human statistical) studies. In neither essence the submitted documents were never published nor peer reviewed articles demonstrated a link between Bendectin and birth defects. Merrell Dow had introduced evidence that no epidemiological study ever performed had concluded that the use of Bendectin by pregnant women significantly correlated with the incidence of birth defects in those women s children (Atikian, 1994 p.1516). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 137, 141 (1999). Patrick Carmichael blew out the right rear tire of a minivan and in the incident one of the passengers died, and others were seriously injured. A diversity suit was brought against the tire maker, Kumho Tire Co., and its distributors, claiming that the tire was defective. Rule of Law: Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) Rule 702 gives the district judge discretion to determine reliability of evidence in regards to the circumstances and facts of a particular case. Dennis Carlson Jr. testified as an expert witness for the petitioners as a tire failure analyst, intending that the tire s manufacture or design caused the blow out. Whereas his opinion was based on visual and tactile inspection of the tire; upon this theory this sort of tire failure was the result of a defect and not tire abuse. The petitioner s moved to exclude Mr. Carlson s testimony on the ground that his methodology failed to satisfy Federal Rules of Evidence Rule 702. The District Court granted the petitioner s summary judgment motion arguing that in examining the factors set out in Daubert v Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals. Inc. Mr. Carlson s methodology is not reliable. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals reversed, held that the District Court erred as a matter of law in applying Daubert, and held that the Daubert factors did not apply to Mr. Carlson s testimony. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). Judge Stephen Breyer delivered the opinion for the United States Supreme Court holding that the Daubert factors may apply to the testimony of engineers and other experts who are not scientists. The District Courts decision to not admit Mr. Carlson s expert testimony was lawful because it found his methodology unreliable after appropriate examinations (Rule 702, ... • 3. Courage In The Film, Pursuit Of Happyness, And WALL-E Courage, determination and perseverance all relate together. In my opinion you can t have one without the other, and you can relate these three things to any aspects of your life whether you are in a low point in your life or on top of the world. You won t have a life lesson where none of these three words are related to that life lesson, and that goes for both movies. Chris was taught to always fight for what you want and don t ever give up, and WALL E fought for making earth a better place and he never gave up. In the movie Pursuit of Happyness, these three words are expressed I think as best as possible. My definition of courage is taking a bet on your bravery towards an event that would change your result. Harvard did an article on the steps of learning courage as a skill and using it in situations. One main step I saw in the article was Setting Goals which would be the reason that you are going to act courage s Chris had a lot of courage to live out on the street, while having to sell his scanners for some money and having to be an intern ... • 4. Kidney Stone Diseases Since the occurrence and progression of various human pathological conditions have been proposed to have an involvement of uric acid (UA), a number of researchers have therefore attempted to elucidate the potential roles of UA underlying the pathogenesis of UA related diseases (1, 2). Among these, UA is well documented in kidney stone diseases since it serves as not only a main crystalline composition of pure UA but also a principal risk factor for hyperuricosuric calcium oxalate (CaOx) kidney stone disease (3, 4). These two kidney stones account for a significant percentage of stone forming patients and have an increasing prevalence worldwide over the past few decades. Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms underlying UA related kidney stone diseases are still not well understood. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... UA can widely affect various cellular functions; therefore, the tight control of serum UA level is necessary to maintain cellular homeostasis under normal circumstances. Kidney serves as a major excretory organ to control a balance of UA by which excessive UA is eliminated from the body through urine (5). Consequently, the defective renal handling of UA can cause an imbalance in UA levels in plasma and urine, and contribute to the development of several diseases, especially kidney stone disease (1, 4). Hyperuricosuria is typically defined as an excess of urinary uric acid; greater than 800 mg/day in men and greater than 750 mg/day in women, which has been recognized as one of the most common metabolic abnormalities in kidney stone patients (6). However, potential roles of UA in renal system underlying kidney stone pathogenesis have been largely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This case study analyzed why BlackBerry has recently suffered a bled market share in customer sector, which has resulted in dramatic losses of billions of dollars. The failure of its newest operating system, BlackBerry 10, was the direct reason that forced BlackBerry to implement significant changes in both senior management and target market. The study also elaborated on BlackBerry s attempts of cutting costs, restructuring operations and maintaining customers. The SWOT analysis it conducted was based on the facts that Blackberry had experienced a significant decrease of 38.5% in revenue during the fiscal year 2014. Compared to BlackBerry s apparent weaknesses like poor financial performance and delayed product launches, it still holds strengths in terms of enterprise services, product design and device development. The positive outlook for smartphone and tablet markets will provide BlackBerry a great chance and motivation to develop new devices. Meanwhile, the cooperation with Foxconn is also a potential to drag up BlackBerry s sales. However, threats such as intense competition from its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The country is well known for its oil natural resources which provides most of their gross domestic product. In this essay I will discuss the cultural in the northern states, southern states and other cultural practices strongly encourage. In the 13 northern states, the vast majority of people are Muslim. The Hausa have been Muslims for almost a thousand years, having been converted to Islam by Arab traders and merchants from the 10th century. Sharia law was introduced into the northern Nigerian states from 2000. This is a code for how Muslims should lead their lives. It is thought to have been drawn up by Muslim scholars in the early centuries of Islam, with parts of it taken directly from the Koran. As in other countries, northern Nigeria uses the code as a basis for its criminal law. However, some of the harsher penalties, such as death by stoning for adultery, have never been ... Of course, calcium rich foods, such as cheese, salmon, sardines, and dark leafy green veggies are power choices for teeth strengthening. Strong teeth and gums are the key combo. Strong teeth will be nothing if the gums are not healthy, which is why it is best to focus on both. Aside from calcium itself, the body needs vitamin D for its bones to absorb the ingested calcium. Another bone booster, which is vitamin A, also keeps the bones and the teeth strong. Plus, anchor your teeth in healthy gums by making sure you have enough vitamin C in your system. This keeps the connective tissues at their tiptop shape. If you need help in getting enough fluoride that your teeth needs, we can provide you with fluoride treatments. I spend most of my time on the ice doing my drills, practicing, or even just fooling around with my friends at a fun stick time. The rink is freezing for most people but not for me being used to the climate. There is one area where people can sit and watch the games in the warm inside above the stand inside the rink area. Directed by Julie Taymor, the movie takes you to another reality, and you can t quite understand whether it is a dystopian future or a time mixed world. From soldiers using swords, to using guns, from riding horses to motorcycles and tanks, you are left with the unanswered question to which point in time the story is taking place. The movie, as bloody and gruesome as the play is visually beautiful and sometimes difficult to watch. The movie starts with a little boy playing in the kitchen in a twisted way with toy soldiers and after an explosion he get s taken to ancient Rome in the middle of Coliseum. He then becomes part of the whole story, sometimes even making you wonder if the whole movie is being dreamed by the little boy. Titus (Anthony Hopkins) returns victorious in Rome after years of fighting against the Goths. He comes back with his last four living sons , the captured Queen of Goths Tamora (Jessica Lange) , her two sons and Aaron the Moor (Harry Lennix). It is the concept that the lead character of a drama has no control over his Fate, which is preconceived and inevitable. On the other hand, it has been argued that the character did have a choice in the matter, and ultimately, it s their choices that lead to their destiny being fulfilled. In this essay, I will be exploring the role of the gods in Sophocles Oedipus the King, and whether or not they are to blame for his tragic downfall. Oedipus the King begins with the audience gaining the knowledge that Thebes is in a state of disarray. This, according to the oracle of Delphi, is due to the fact that the previous king, Laius, has not been avenged, and that the only way Thebes will return to its previous glory is if the king s murderer takes account for his actions (Sophocles). Oedipus, the noble and intellectual man that he is, makes a promise to find whoever was responsible for the death of Laius, and make them atone for their sins. ... All of this suggests...that human beings are playthings of chance or indifferent gods and hence that it is impossible for human beings to live nobly or to win the favour and protection of the gods (Ahrensdorf, 2009). In conclusion, I believe that the fates played a greater role than we are lead to believe, but I also believe that the decisions made by all the characters played a pivotal role in the outcome of the drama. The characters were most definitely given a freedom of choice when it came to almost every decision they made, but the fates definitely put obstacles in their way, which would inevitably cause them to be swayed to make rash ... One reason SSRIs are so popular is because of the many mental disorders they can be used for such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, and many more (Weitzel Jiwanlal, 2001). The four major types of SSRIs that are most commonly used by people with mental disorders are fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), and citalopram hydrobromide (Celexa); SSRIs work on the brain by acting on the reuptake pathway of serotonin (Stone, 2010). There are some advantages for taking SSRIs. One advantage is that SSRIs have fewer side effects than most of the other antidepressant medications such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and tricyclics (Weitzel Jiwanlal, 2001). Another advantage is that SSRIs have less of a risk of toxicity in overdose (Lane, Baldwin, Preskorn, 1995). SSRIs are better tolerated than tricyclic antidepressant medication because they cause less sedation and problematic anticholinergic effects. There are also reports indicating that SSRIs have fewer negative effects on the cardiovascular system than tricyclic antidepressants (Edwards, 1992). If the membership function covers poles values from 0 to 4 then the maximum value for pole is 4 and the least value is 0 and same thing happens for the constants. Each unit reduces an order of two to order of one. If a transfer function of higher order is needed to be reduced the operation is repeated several times. For example an order 8 to 2 function reduction will reduce the 8 poles into 4 poles then the 4 new poles into the final 2 poles. E. Another best value that is tracked by the particle swarm optimizer is the best value, obtained so far by any particle in the population. This best value is a global best and called Gbest. In an absolutist state, power and sovereignty is embodied within one person. Absolute kings attempted to control competing institutions and jurisdictions in their state, and secured power with the nobility. An absolute monarchy has total political power over its sovereign state and people. King Louis XIV of France and Tsar Peter the Great of Russia were both absolute monarchs. These two monarchs satisfied the four characteristics of absolutism: divine right of kings, meaning they were chosen by God; skilled bureaucracy, where decisions are made by the state; control of the economy, absolute monarchs had control of money and trading; and lastly a professional army, the absolutist must have a permanent standing army. King Louis XIV of France was born on September 5, 1638, he became King at age five, in 1643, and his reign lasted until 1715. King Louis XIV satisfied the four conditions of absolutism. The divine right of kings meant Louis received his power directly from God, loyalty to the King meant loyalty to God. The Sun King was a name given to Louis XIV. Keating teaches his students by taking them outside the classroom to encourage them to act for themselves and become independent. In a school of transcendentalists theses kinds of actions are needed to encourage students that thinking outside of society s rules are outstanding. • 35. Enzyme And The Enzyme Of Enzyme Essay Introduction: An enzyme is a macromolecule that works as a catalyst and speeds up chemical reactions through a substrate that binds to the active site of the enzyme. When this process occurs, the enzyme lowers the activation energy needed. This allows the reactant molecules to reach a state where they can complete a reaction in most temperatures. The enzyme is not consumed when a chemical reaction is taking place, however, it s shape changes in order to create a proper space for a substrate to bind to. Since the enzyme is not consumed in the process of reactions, it can begin to lower the activating energy of another process as soon as the first process is complete and it has returned to its original shape. Without the assistance of enzymes, the pathways of metabolism in humans would be obstructed because every process would take so long (Smith et., 2015). For every reaction completed, a different, specific enzyme is utilized. Therefore, each location of each enzyme in the cell is very specific. The speed of the enzyme that is being utilized is dependent on factors that are found in the environment, for example, pH, temperature and the specific chemical reaction that will be occurring. The rate that a catalyst can be most beneficial with regard to temperature is directly proportional to the increase in temperature until the optimal temperature is reached. However, after the optimal temperature is reached, if the temperature continues to be increased, the rate of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
