Jude s Death On The Cross Essay
Jude was the younger half brother of Jesus, born of Mary and Joseph. During the life and ministry of
Jesus Christ, Jude and his other brothers openly expressed doubt in the divinity of Jesus (John 7:3 8),
but Jude did eventually became a believer after Jesus death on the cross (Acts 1:14). The epistle of
Jude is written to a general audience of Christians, who are called beloved in God the Father and kept
for Jesus Christ (v. 1). Jude begins by saying that He had planned to write about common salvation,
but there were more pressing matters that he had to attend to. Jude s self professed purpose for writing
his epistle is to rally his readers to contend for the faith against false teachers who might draw
believers away from the truth (v. 3). Jude s method is twofold; he identifies the false teachers who
have infiltrated the church, and he urges the church not to be swayed into apostasy by their
blasphemous teachings.
First and foremost, it is important to accurately determine a timeframe in which Jude was written.
Jude s discussion of the false teachers in verses 4 18 closely resembles 2 Peter 2:1 3:4, and many
scholars argue that Peter s second epistle predates Jude for a number of reasons. The first of these
reasons is Peter s anticipation of false teachers to come (2 Pet. 2:1 2, 3:3), which chronologically
speaking comes before the arrival of the false teachers, which Jude vv. 4, 11 12, 17 18 deals with. The
second piece of evident is found in Jude 1:17 18. Here,

Character Of King Arthur
King Arthur was a legendary hero who is known for his brave acts of kindness and his courageous
actions in battle. He was a man of honor. Unfortunately, his character makes some drastic changes
throughout his tales. These changes can lead the reader to have different opinions of Arthur s
character. For example, he never wanted to accept that his Queen was having an affair with his most
celebrated knight, Lancelot. However, he does end up in battle with Lancelot but only after the death
of Sir Gawain s unarmed brothers at the hands of Sir Lancelot. Arthur uses Gawain s grudge to justify
battle with Lancelot to not make himself appear as a fool for knowing what was happening between
Guinevere and Lancelot and not doing anything about their actions. In the beginning, Arthur was not
ruthless, yet after having many people test his kindness, he became focused on revenge. Many
powerful dukes and barons resisted King Arthur s effort to unify Britain (King Arthur 431). King
Arthur spent many of his first years in power downsizing the dukes of northern Britain, Scotland, and
Wales because no one took him seriously. He was forced to become a ruthless leader to achieve the
goals he had set forth.
Lancelot was one of Arthur s bravest knights and the lover of Arthur s queen Guinevere. Lancelot
defended Guinevere multiple times in her acts of treason. Lancelot also became the head of the
roundtable. However, Lancelot betrayed his king and thereby lost his proficiency and skill to

A Distinction Between War And Terrorism
A distinction between war and terrorism, and from where terrorism emerged.
Within the history of humanity, war and violence has its origins deeply rooted amongst almost all
cultures. Terrorism is a relatively young concept. The differences between war and terrorism are
essential in understanding the social distinctions between both forms of aggression. The common
phrase, All is fair in love and war, suggests that acts of aggression are acceptable because of the
context, almost expected. The word terrorism by nature denies the act any justification. We can trace
and argue the exact moment in which modern terrorism emerged. It was with a group of Russian
revolutionaries, Nardonaya Volya, which translates into the people s will ... Show more content on

Within our technological landscape it is inevitable to avoid the stories and images become seared into
our memories. It is that mental threat that threatens our security as a nation. The hysteria and sense of
fear, it leads rational people to settle for irrational thoughts. It drives people to fear and make snap
judgements. It guides us to elect aggressors, justify the inexcusable and compromise our moral fabric.
This papers intention is to examine how terrorism as a whole influences our actions, and how this new
breed of terrorism may affect us directly and indirectly.
II. Examples of biochemical aggression within a war context.
From its early origins, the concept of terrorism was aimed to remove those from power who were
abusing it as well as oppressing by non government groups. Today, terrorism comes in all forms. From
individuals to foreign governments and groups, the face of terrorism is constantly changing. There are
examples within the last century that can be justified throughout the veil of warfare. The first takes us
to the concentration camps of Europe in WWII. Hitler s aim of cleansing the aryan race through
extermination of minorities, the majority jewish people, is a clear example of the nightmare that
chemical agents can have on humanity. Today, you can walk through the gas chambers while on a
group tour, lead by a knowledgable guide. The scratches along the wall are a stark reminder that a
simple gas can invite death

A Wall Street Journal Article Analysis
In an ever changing world we have seen the number and complexity of languages become reduced. In
a Wall Street Journal article entitled What the World Will Speak in 2115, John H. McWhorter
advocates for the world to see these changes as necessary and a way for communication worldwide to
become more efficient and simplified. McWhorter shows how language has been streamlined for
centuries as a way for citizens to adapt rather than viewed as an extinction of culture. Modern English
is likely to become the dominant language worldwide but more so for the fact that it can be easily
learned and is open to transformation with the times. Despite the fears of a world where lingual
diversity is reduced, McWhorter suggests that there will still be variation to promote culture and
communication with people from all backgrounds will be easier. The following is a summary and
analysis of McWhorter s main points describing the simplification of language. Following the
summary of main points will be a hypothetical situation in what the world language could consist of
100 years from now. Over centuries we have seen the amount and complexity of languages all across
the globe reduced. If this trend continues, we could see the number of world languages potentially
reduced from 6,000 to 600 in the future. Colonization and urbanization has led to the abolishment of
languages spoke by smaller and less dominant civilizations. McWhorter uses the Native Americans in
North America and the Aboriginal

Gilles De La Tourette Syndrome Analysis
Main Post Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome I chose this disease because I really don t know very much
about it and would like to learn more. Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome (GTS) is defined as echolalia
(imitating others), multiple tics (motor and vocal), as well as coprolalia (spontaneous swearing).
Neuropsychological disorders associated with GTS are depression, obsessive compulsive behaviors,
obsessive compulsive disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Onset of GTS is usually
aged 5 to 18. In GTS, CT s and MRI s show reduced volume in the basal ganglia with smaller
volumes in the caudate nucleus. There is also a correlation between adults and children with smaller
volumes in the lenticular nucleus who have obsessive compulsive ... Show more content on

The diagnosis of HD is relatively simple due to the distinct presentations. There are four ways that
each identifies this disease; family history (gene mutation specific is responsible). Second, it is
characterized neurologically because it is well studied with the disease being principally in the basal
ganglia where particular neuronal populations die, particularly in caudate nucleus but most
conspicuously in the putamen. Thirdly, dementia is selective, more so than Alzheimer s and since HD
normally shows symptoms in an individual s 30 s and 40 s it differs from normal aging brain changes.
HD is clinically categorized into movement disorder, dementia syndrome, and emotional issues such
as apathy, depression and irritability (Grant and Adams,

Through religion and dance, they were able to release themselves to their gods and at the same time
engage in a form of passive resistance. At the forefront of all this was enslaved women, who passed
down and kept alive a disproportionate amount of the cultural heritage of Africa that survived in
slavery. They did so through their roles as mothers and healers, daughters and workers. They were, in
short, strong women who felt it is their duty to uphold traditional values.
In many African cultures, women were honoured and this attitude towards them did not change within
the Caribbean. Many of the religious rites and rituals took on an altered form in the Caribbean, but the
role of women was constant. The proof is in the legacy that has been left behind. The same customs
that enslaved Africans brought with them are still present today. For instance, women have handed
down lessons through the art of storytelling, an art which they have maintained. Their stories tell of
ancient people in ancient times but the morals are relevant even today, as are told in the Haitian
folktale Ti Malice or the Jamaican folktales of Anansi. Another part of life still present today is the art
of hair braiding, an ancient African tradition, which has always created a bond between mothers and
their children. As with cooking, it had

The Great Moai Statues Of Easter Island
Similarities and differences are what make things so interesting. Would you be happy if everyone was
the same. Every looked the same, and liked the same things and hated the same things. No you wouldn
t because you would want to be you and no one can tell you what you want to be or what you don t
want to be. Even the buildings you make would be the same from a normal house to a normal office
building. The Panama Canal was one of the most useful canals ever built and they were made to for
one reason and that was to transport goods. This was somethings everyone needed to solve at that
time(1900s). The great Moai statues of Easter Island are also great structures and are really
tremendous to the eye. These buildings and canals were made to one purpose they had to do
somethings and that something was to make things easier for the people. Some similarities they had
were that they both took a long time and sacrifice to build. A difference they had was that they were
built for different purposes and they had their own different struggles.
Predominantly, The Panama Canal was one of the greatest structures built by mankind. The Moai as
well were something to be fascinated by because they were beautiful creations made by us. The one
thing they both have in common was that they both took a long time to build. The Moai took
approximately about 10 15 years to build and that was with the help of mana which was part of the
belief and if that wouldn t of existed it probably

Biography Of Bernie Sanders And The Democratic Party
Hey I hope all is well with you. I am replying to your previous letter that asked for my helped with the
upcoming election. I know that this your first election and I can see that it has you stumped. I am
going to do my best to help you with all your needs. I know that you lean more to the liberal side. So,
I feel that Bernie Sanders and the Democratic Party should be where you focus your attention. First let
me give you some background information on Senator Sanders. Bernie Sanders was raised in
Brooklyn, New York and his parents were polish immigrants. He began studying Psychology in
Brooklyn, but then later transferred to the University of Chicago where he eventually received a
degree in political science. He was also a part of the Civil Rights Movement. In 1971 he began his
career in politics but didn t have much luck. He ultimately took a break from politics and did other
various things. He participated in carpentry, filmmaking and writing. He sounds pretty well rounded to
me. I hope he is sounding good so far to you. Well back to Bernie Sanders, he returned to politics in
1981 and had great success. He went on to win the election for Mayor of Burlington, Vermont. He was
mayor for 8 great years but decided that he wasn t going to run for mayor again. In 1989, he also

Statement Of Purpose In Engineering Management
I have always drawn inspiration from the famous quote Vision without action is
merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change
the world! . Since childhood, I have read how entrepreneurs such as Bill Gates and Steve
Jobs have used technology to change the world. These examples inspired me to take up
Civil Engineering at the undergraduate level, so I could also use technology to fulfill my
dreams of entrepreneurship. During the course of my undergraduate studies, I got the
opportunity to explore different avenues and I came to realize that my interest lay in

As a result, I picked up a project titled, Green Building . It was a 6 member
project. Green building refers to a structure that is environmentally responsible and
resource efficient throughout a building s life cycle: from siting to design, construction,
operation, maintenance, renovation and demolition. This was a unique project which
allowed me to explore the subject and gain a lot of knowledge about it that I didn t have
prior to beginning this project. Apart from these technical topics, I also enjoyed studying
management related subjects as a part of the curriculum. I was introduced to theories of
Managerial Economics, Accountancy, Total Quality Management, Convergence of
Technology and Information Integrity. These subjects acquainted me to the world of
management and intrigued me a lot, further consolidating my desire to take up studies at
the master s level. Studying these subjects also served to interest me in taking up

How Did Pope John Paul II Have A Free Response To Religion
As displayed in the film, Pope John II , we can see that Pope John Paul II shows many characteristics
of a faith fulfilled man such as, that it is risky and requires a free response. I think a main part in the
movie where his faith is risked is when he denies his girlfriend of pushing their relationship into
something more. He denied her offer. I feel like her had the calling of God to him to become a priest
earlier and that a family and marriage was his thing. He knew that God wanted him to spread the word
of God and help spread His ways rather than creating more children of God. he probably had to think
twice on what he truly wanted for his future. There are a lot of styes when you think about something
about this. He truly risked a lot but he knew whatever he chose his relationship with God would be
strong. Pope John Paul II delayed a free response early in his life when the Nazi s took over hsi town
in Poland during the late 1930 s. There was a lot of Nazi propaganda where he lived and he refused to

The Pros And Cons Of Bombs
Bombs. The ultimate attention grabber has proven to be a weapon of mass destruction against
humanity numerous times throughout the short life of the weapon, even as recent as the bombing in
New York and New Jersey that took place in late September of 2016 prove exactly what they were
intended to prove: that humans are vulnerable in the face of fear. So many weapons have been used to
prove multiple points, so many that it s hard to list them all; racism, sexism, discrimination against
religion and sexuality, drugs and alcohol, all of these factor into the roles of fights everyday. The
continued assaults have caused every single person to question those around them, to be constantly
concerned about whether they ll come home that night or whether the night before was the last night
that they will see someone they love without having been murdered. Although my generation wasn t

The last character, Jabez Stone, wasn t given a very active role in the short story, but he was described

family life was a little different. He had only one child and that was after the contract with the devil
was made. The ending to the short story took place in Jabez s barn and consisted of a jury filled with
the ruthless dead. This was also how the movie was played out. Even the closing speech that Daniel
made wasn t told word for word in the short story, but the way it was spoken in the movie seemed to
sum up the way it was supposed to be in the short story. It had the same affect because it made
amp;quot; the glitter [be] gone from the eyes of the judge and jury, and, for the moment, they were

much was that the Devil didn t seem as intimidated by Daniel Webster as he did in the short story. He
just laughed at Daniel and told him he d get him in the presidency race. There are even more
differences between the scripts then there are similarities. The first of these is the way the characters
are depicted. I already pointed out that Jabez had a bigger role in the movie and that he only had one

Labor Is Not A Simple Construct
Essay #3:
Labor is not a simple construct. It is made up of a multitude of people with unique background and
traits. While these people worked hard, it was not always easy to be treated justly. Many important
events arose along labor s growth in the United States encompassing identifiers such as race, class and
gender. These different areas are an integral part of labor and will continue to be. Most of these
identities overlap at certain points but it is worth mentioning them separately as each individual aspect
of labor contributed a substantial amount to further the progress of labor within the United States even
through the most difficult times. Gender, Race, and Class have played an important part in shaping
U.S Labor history.

to help in killing two of the cowboys who slashed one of the prostitutes just because the woman
giggled at one of the cowboy s tiny pecker. However, Little Bill Daggett, the sheriff, just fined the two
cowboys with six horses to be given to the saloon keeper instead of arresting and beating them up; this
nonchalant response of the sheriff outraged the other prostitutes. The girls pooled all of their savings,
which amounted to $1,000, and used that money as a reward to anybody who would kill the two
cowboys who slashed up their friend. The film was unique because of the way Clint Eastwood
presented violence and killing in an interesting way and in a new light wherein the line between good
and evil was a little blurred. The thought provoking title of the film also added a unique touch to this
film. The form of violence in the film was presented in different ways some are subtle, but some are
more obvious. The way that the prostitutes offered bounty for the death of the two cowboys serves as
a silent form of violence and protest, which represents the hatred that they feel because they are
belittled and mistreated by the people just because they are prostitutes: Just because we let them

Unit 1 Assignment 1
When setting up a new website or business online, one of the most important steps in the process is
the creation of a domain name. A domain name is the name that those on the Internet will use to find
your website. It is contained in the URL for that particular page. It is a quick means to give users a
glimpse into your site. The name you choose might be the name of your company or the services that
you provide. It may include your location or any other information you wish to include. No matter
what information you include, when a user encounters your domain name they should be able to tell
who you are or what service you offer.
Before you start building your website or your professional email addresses, you should verify that

With the limited screen size on phones, space is at a premium. Additionally, shorter names allow for
more versatility when designing a mobile site.
Short domain names give the impression that the site is more trustworthy. Users are more likely to
visit a webpage with a short, easily understood URL than a long name made up various words that
have not relation to one another. Users trust that the domain name that is easily understood has a better
chance of taking them to the webpage they have in mind.
Short domain names are more adaptable for branding. Problems can occur with longer names,
especially if there are space constraints. The shorter names allow creative branding if you wish to
proceed in that direction. For instance, if you launch you site in the United States, and subsequently
wish to share it with other countries, you will have room in your URL to include relevant country
codes such as .eu or .asia. Having a short domain name leaves room for additions such as these.
A short domain name gets your identity across with less chance of confusion. With longer names, the
meaning or identity of the site can become lost among all the words.
A short name will boost your SEO. If your domain name is one easily remembered, it will generate
more clicks. Consequently, this will give you higher rankings on Google, making your website more
successful.
Short names require much less space making it easier to include them on brochures and business

This is a common challenge accepted by many corporations which see a need to satisfy investors and
remain relevant in their industry. In order to achieve massive growth HP needed to look beyond
operational efficiency and more to short term innovative products and services. The challenge, was
how to achieve this short term innovation. The case describes how HP created the Innovation Program
Office (IPO) to explore and develop innovative opportunities, and whether this concept could be
extended across HP s seven business segments. HP s IPO first started with the Personal Systems

Pros And Cons Of Divorce Reform
In the first part of this essay, we will examine if the current law on divorce should be reformed to
allow people to break up without having to blame each other and without a two year wait. We will
discuss the current law and assess the advantages and possible disadvantages as to whether the law on
divorce should be reformed. Marriage or civil partnerships between two people creates a legal status
which legally enforceable rights begin. If a couple wanted to terminate this legal status, they would
need a divorce or dissolution (Probert, 2015). The basis on which a divorce can be accepted has
progressively relaxed over the years, subsequent to this, the number of divorces has risen (Probert,
2015). Statistics published on December 2012, estimated

Jean Honoré Fragonard s The Stolen Kiss
Jean Honoré Fragonard (1732 1806), was one of the most creative artists of his time, producing more
than 550 works during his life. Fragonard was a product of the later stages of the Rococo era, a time
characterized by hedonistic freedom and a pursuit of all things aesthetically pleasing. The Rococo era
originated from the French decorative style Racaille meaning decorative shell and rock work (Artble).
Frivolous, colorful and gay, the works of Jean Honoré Fragonard float into a spectator s sensory
consciousness like pastel confections straight from a Parisian bakery on a spring day (Artble). Having
taken on the role of one of the highest ranking leaders of the Rococo movement, Fragonard s style of

This oil on canvas captures the figures ravenous inclination, as their mouths open to full capacity as if

The same odd dichotomy of passion and gentleness as found in the ocean beyond. One can almost
imagine the bodies rising and falling to the rhythm of the waves lapping the shoreline. Both figures
are in ecstasy. The female figure closes her eyes and beckons the pleasure, while the man s eyes

The Holocaust Of Schindler And Francisca Nee Luser
Oskar Schindler saved thousands of Jewish people from the horrible tragedy that was the Holocaust.
Some would say, at one point in Schindler s life, he was an aryan man with no financial problems
whatsoever. Schindler was truly a brave man that sacrificed his life for many others. Schindler simply
saved others out of the goodness from his heart. Oskar Schindler (1908 1974) was born on April 28,
1908, in Svitavy (Zwittau), Moravia, at that time a province of the Austro Hungarian Monarchy
(Holocaust Encyclopedia). Schindler grew up with all the privileges money could buy. He was born
Catholic... (Jewish Virtual Library). Oscar s parents Johann Schindler and Francisca nee Luser were
both Germans from Silesia, who had settled in Svitavy, where he worked in insurance, and the selling
of electrical generators for domestic purposes, and dealing with farm machinery (Holocaust Education
Archive Research Team). A sister Elfriede was born in 1915 Oskar was very close to her, as was his
relationship with his mother. After leaving full time education, Schindler worked in the family
business in Svitavy, after a short break he commuted to Brno, where he worked for an electrical
company called Moravska Elektotechnica (M.E.A.S.), as a representative. After attending a series of
trade schools in Brno and marrying Emilie Pelzl in 1928, Schindler held a variety of jobs, including

The preferred habitat for this species are wet areas such as river bottomlands, floodplains, wet prairies,

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) partners with Homeland Security to aid
Americans and people in other countries in case a major disaster occurs. They give out food and water
and help provide shelters to those who have lost their homes. But it has only been in recent years after
terrorist attacks on U.S. soil that Homeland Security has joined this group. This has increased
suspicions towards why a group that was created to fight terrorists would need to be involved in aiding
those who have been in an earthquake or flooding. Few Americans feel that they have any hope of
being able to truly count on their assistance because of this. But that isn t the only reason. FEMA has

High Amount of Losses
Unfortunately, FEMA already knows what most Americans don t. There will be a huge amount of
casualties because so few people are prepared for a state of emergency to happen. Because of this,
they are already prepared to bury thousands of people with a stash of coffins that they keep handy.
Although this sounds cruel, it should be used as motivation for people to not expect FEMA to be their
savior in case of a disaster. They have to be able to handle situations on their own instead.
As you can see, this organization is highly motivated to work against the American people, not for
them. That is why it is extremely important that people start preparing now for a possible crisis now.

Nicolo Machiavelli in his book The Prince, and in Robert Bolt s film, A Man for All Seasons. In class,

Driven by his faithful adherence to his religion, he acts in such a way that refuses to stray even if
consequences of his actions bring negative results upon him and his family. The film takes place at a

could obtain a divorce and marry another. In his Act of Supremacy, Henry desired to be installed as
the head of the Church of England. He required all nobility swear an oath that would establish his
legitimacy. More, realizing the predicament he faced, either proclaim Henry the head of the church

nothing that would reveal either opinion. He encountered difficulties as many campaigned against him
to establish that from his silence, one could infer that he did not recognize the king s supremacy and
therefore committed treason. More, upon appeal by his family to proclaim the king s supremacy whilst
maintaining in his heart the opposite, refused to do so. He believed it would compromise his virtue in

Built In Security
24 Hour Monitored Physical Hardware
Office 365 data is stored in the Microsoft network of data centers, run by Microsoft Global
Foundation Services and strategically located around the world. These data centers are built from the
ground up to protect services and data from harm by natural disaster or unauthorized access. Data
center access is restricted 24 hours per day by job function so that only essential personnel have access
to customer applications and services. Physical access control uses multiple authentication and
security processes, including badges and smart cards, biometric scanners, on premises security
officers, continuous video surveillance, and two factor authentication. The data centers are monitored
using motion sensors, video surveillance, and security breach alarms. Security in the event of natural
disaster includes seismically braced racks where required and automated fire prevention and
extinguishing systems.
Isolated Customer Data
One reason Office 365 is both scalable and low cost is that it is a multi tenant service (that is, data
from different customers shares the same hardware resources). Office 365 is designed to host multiple
tenants in a highly secure way through data isolation. Data storage and processing for each tenant is
segregated through Active Directory® structure and capabilities specifically developed to help build,
manage, and secure

Decriminalization Is On The Rise
Across Europe the trend to and argument for decriminalization is on the rise. Advocates for
legalization of drugs across Europe have touted Portugal s success and have tried to use it as a
unilateral expression of decriminalization as a complete success. Portugal s success is very much also
attributed to an overhaul on the healthcare and treatment of drug addicts rather than being the simple
result of decriminalization (Aleem). The Czech Republic recently joined Portugal in decriminalizing
drugs in 2010. The mainufacture and distribution of drugs are still highly illegal, but drug users who
simply possess or even use are now free of the fear of persecution. Possession of up to 15 grams of
marijuana, five grams of hash, 40 psychodelic mushrooms, one and a half grams of heroin, and a gram
of cocaine are considered a usable supply of drugs in the Czech Republic. Success within the country
can be measured in that roughly 70 percent of the nation s problematic drug users maintain regular
contact with outreach programs and needle exchange programs. The Netherlands has noted a drop in
opiate dependencies thanks to a long established needle exchange program along with allowing the
prescription of maintenance doses of diamorphine and methadone (O Neill). While many countries
such as Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, and Spain have slowly moved towards a debate about
decriminalization, several countries drug use has dropped below Portugal thanks to education and
treatment programs.

Euthanasi Assisted Suicide And Euthanasia Essay
Physician Assisted Suicide
Framing the Issue
Many legal, ethical and personal issues and dilemmas have been identified in relation to physician
assisted suicide and euthanasia. Issues such as whether physician assisted suicide or euthanasia is
ethically acceptable, or what criterion is legally and socially necessary to determine whether a person
can receive assisted suicide measures to end ones life. A variety of literature reviews have been
created to address this topic and generate knowledge and information for health care professionals.
With this in mind, there are many phrases associated and utilized synonymously with the term
physician assisted suicide that need to be addressed such as physician assisted death, euthanasia, and
aid in dying, however each has been defined separately throughout the literature. Westefeld et al.,
(2013) and Landry, Foreman and Kekewich (2015) define physician assisted death as voluntary
termination of life through the administration, from the person requesting termination, of a lethal dose
to end ones life. The Canadian Medical Association (2014) refers to euthanasia as the practice of
knowingly and intentionally performing an act with or without consent, that is explicitly intended to
end another person life (p. 2) by a physician. Lastly, aid is dying is the request of a prescription for
medication; provided by a physician, that patients can self administer to end ones life peacefully
(American Nurses Association [ANA], 2013). For

  • 2. Jude s Death On The Cross Essay Jude was the younger half brother of Jesus, born of Mary and Joseph. During the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, Jude and his other brothers openly expressed doubt in the divinity of Jesus (John 7:3 8), but Jude did eventually became a believer after Jesus death on the cross (Acts 1:14). The epistle of Jude is written to a general audience of Christians, who are called beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ (v. 1). Jude begins by saying that He had planned to write about common salvation, but there were more pressing matters that he had to attend to. Jude s self professed purpose for writing his epistle is to rally his readers to contend for the faith against false teachers who might draw believers away from the truth (v. 3). Jude s method is twofold; he identifies the false teachers who have infiltrated the church, and he urges the church not to be swayed into apostasy by their blasphemous teachings. First and foremost, it is important to accurately determine a timeframe in which Jude was written. Jude s discussion of the false teachers in verses 4 18 closely resembles 2 Peter 2:1 3:4, and many scholars argue that Peter s second epistle predates Jude for a number of reasons. The first of these reasons is Peter s anticipation of false teachers to come (2 Pet. 2:1 2, 3:3), which chronologically speaking comes before the arrival of the false teachers, which Jude vv. 4, 11 12, 17 18 deals with. The second piece of evident is found in Jude 1:17 18. Here, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Character Of King Arthur King Arthur was a legendary hero who is known for his brave acts of kindness and his courageous actions in battle. He was a man of honor. Unfortunately, his character makes some drastic changes throughout his tales. These changes can lead the reader to have different opinions of Arthur s character. For example, he never wanted to accept that his Queen was having an affair with his most celebrated knight, Lancelot. However, he does end up in battle with Lancelot but only after the death of Sir Gawain s unarmed brothers at the hands of Sir Lancelot. Arthur uses Gawain s grudge to justify battle with Lancelot to not make himself appear as a fool for knowing what was happening between Guinevere and Lancelot and not doing anything about their actions. In the beginning, Arthur was not ruthless, yet after having many people test his kindness, he became focused on revenge. Many powerful dukes and barons resisted King Arthur s effort to unify Britain (King Arthur 431). King Arthur spent many of his first years in power downsizing the dukes of northern Britain, Scotland, and Wales because no one took him seriously. He was forced to become a ruthless leader to achieve the goals he had set forth. Lancelot was one of Arthur s bravest knights and the lover of Arthur s queen Guinevere. Lancelot defended Guinevere multiple times in her acts of treason. Lancelot also became the head of the roundtable. However, Lancelot betrayed his king and thereby lost his proficiency and skill to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Distinction Between War And Terrorism A distinction between war and terrorism, and from where terrorism emerged. Within the history of humanity, war and violence has its origins deeply rooted amongst almost all cultures. Terrorism is a relatively young concept. The differences between war and terrorism are essential in understanding the social distinctions between both forms of aggression. The common phrase, All is fair in love and war, suggests that acts of aggression are acceptable because of the context, almost expected. The word terrorism by nature denies the act any justification. We can trace and argue the exact moment in which modern terrorism emerged. It was with a group of Russian revolutionaries, Nardonaya Volya, which translates into the people s will ... It is that mental threat that threatens our security as a nation. The hysteria and sense of fear, it leads rational people to settle for irrational thoughts. It drives people to fear and make snap judgements. It guides us to elect aggressors, justify the inexcusable and compromise our moral fabric. This papers intention is to examine how terrorism as a whole influences our actions, and how this new breed of terrorism may affect us directly and indirectly. II. Examples of biochemical aggression within a war context. From its early origins, the concept of terrorism was aimed to remove those from power who were abusing it as well as oppressing by non government groups. Today, terrorism comes in all forms. From individuals to foreign governments and groups, the face of terrorism is constantly changing. There are examples within the last century that can be justified throughout the veil of warfare. The first takes us to the concentration camps of Europe in WWII. Hitler s aim of cleansing the aryan race through extermination of minorities, the majority jewish people, is a clear example of the nightmare that chemical agents can have on humanity. • 7. A Wall Street Journal Article Analysis In an ever changing world we have seen the number and complexity of languages become reduced. In a Wall Street Journal article entitled What the World Will Speak in 2115, John H. McWhorter advocates for the world to see these changes as necessary and a way for communication worldwide to become more efficient and simplified. McWhorter shows how language has been streamlined for centuries as a way for citizens to adapt rather than viewed as an extinction of culture. Modern English is likely to become the dominant language worldwide but more so for the fact that it can be easily learned and is open to transformation with the times. Despite the fears of a world where lingual diversity is reduced, McWhorter suggests that there will still be variation to promote culture and communication with people from all backgrounds will be easier. The following is a summary and analysis of McWhorter s main points describing the simplification of language. Following the summary of main points will be a hypothetical situation in what the world language could consist of 100 years from now. Over centuries we have seen the amount and complexity of languages all across the globe reduced. If this trend continues, we could see the number of world languages potentially reduced from 6,000 to 600 in the future. Colonization and urbanization has led to the abolishment of languages spoke by smaller and less dominant civilizations. McWhorter uses the Native Americans in North America and the Aboriginal ... Through religion and dance, they were able to release themselves to their gods and at the same time engage in a form of passive resistance. At the forefront of all this was enslaved women, who passed down and kept alive a disproportionate amount of the cultural heritage of Africa that survived in slavery. They did so through their roles as mothers and healers, daughters and workers. They were, in short, strong women who felt it is their duty to uphold traditional values. In many African cultures, women were honoured and this attitude towards them did not change within the Caribbean. Many of the religious rites and rituals took on an altered form in the Caribbean, but the role of women was constant. The proof is in the legacy that has been left behind. The same customs that enslaved Africans brought with them are still present today. For instance, women have handed down lessons through the art of storytelling, an art which they have maintained. Their stories tell of ancient people in ancient times but the morals are relevant even today, as are told in the Haitian folktale Ti Malice or the Jamaican folktales of Anansi. How Did Pope John Paul II Have A Free Response To Religion As displayed in the film, Pope John II , we can see that Pope John Paul II shows many characteristics of a faith fulfilled man such as, that it is risky and requires a free response. I think a main part in the movie where his faith is risked is when he denies his girlfriend of pushing their relationship into something more. He denied her offer. I feel like her had the calling of God to him to become a priest earlier and that a family and marriage was his thing. The ultimate attention grabber has proven to be a weapon of mass destruction against humanity numerous times throughout the short life of the weapon, even as recent as the bombing in New York and New Jersey that took place in late September of 2016 prove exactly what they were intended to prove: that humans are vulnerable in the face of fear. So many weapons have been used to prove multiple points, so many that it s hard to list them all; racism, sexism, discrimination against religion and sexuality, drugs and alcohol, all of these factor into the roles of fights everyday. While this ultimately failed and led to the company hiring more immigrant laborers that were willing to take the pay cut, it opened the door for women to fight for their rights at their workplaces. • 23. Analysis Of Unforgiven Unforgiven is a 1992 Western film which was produced, directed, and starred by Clint Eastwood. The adventure of William Munny, a vicious murderer in the past who has killed innocent women and children, started when The Schofield Kid approached Munny in his farm and asked him if he wanted to help in killing two of the cowboys who slashed one of the prostitutes just because the woman giggled at one of the cowboy s tiny pecker. However, Little Bill Daggett, the sheriff, just fined the two cowboys with six horses to be given to the saloon keeper instead of arresting and beating them up; this nonchalant response of the sheriff outraged the other prostitutes. The girls pooled all of their savings, which amounted to $1,000, and used that money as a reward to anybody who would kill the two cowboys who slashed up their friend. The film was unique because of the way Clint Eastwood presented violence and killing in an interesting way and in a new light wherein the line between good and evil was a little blurred. The thought provoking title of the film also added a unique touch to this film. The form of violence in the film was presented in different ways some are subtle, but some are more obvious. The way that the prostitutes offered bounty for the death of the two cowboys serves as a silent form of violence and protest, which represents the hatred that they feel because they are belittled and mistreated by the people just because they are prostitutes: Just because we let them ... Users trust that the domain name that is easily understood has a better chance of taking them to the webpage they have in mind. Short domain names are more adaptable for branding. Problems can occur with longer names, especially if there are space constraints. The shorter names allow creative branding if you wish to proceed in that direction. For instance, if you launch you site in the United States, and subsequently wish to share it with other countries, you will have room in your URL to include relevant country codes such as .eu or .asia. Having a short domain name leaves room for additions such as these. A short domain name gets your identity across with less chance of confusion. With longer names, the meaning or identity of the site can become lost among all the words. A short name will boost your SEO. Advocates for legalization of drugs across Europe have touted Portugal s success and have tried to use it as a unilateral expression of decriminalization as a complete success. Portugal s success is very much also attributed to an overhaul on the healthcare and treatment of drug addicts rather than being the simple result of decriminalization (Aleem). The Czech Republic recently joined Portugal in decriminalizing drugs in 2010. The mainufacture and distribution of drugs are still highly illegal, but drug users who simply possess or even use are now free of the fear of persecution.
