First, Chris and I looked online for the proportions of the Pantheon in order to properly scale it down
to a model size. I used our domes planned diameter of 7 inches and compared it to that of the real
Pantheon dome diameter to find a ratio. We were able to use this ratio to scale the sizes of our model.
Next, we used a compass to sketch a circle with a radius of 3.625 inches into a Maple Log and then
proceeded to cut it out using a bandsaw. Due to the fact that the shape was not a perfectly cut, we used
a lathe a machine designed to shape wood or other materials by rotating the piece being worked on
and using changeable cutting tools to make it into an exact cylinder. We did the same process for the
dome; however, there were slight differences. The dome was made out of a Red Cedar Log and had a
radius of 7 inches. Also it was shaped like a dome rather than a cylinder and only had a height of 1 and
3/4 inches. In addition, while we were creating its dome shape on the lathe, we made indents (rings) in

On November 4, 2016 at 8pm, my friend Audrey and I went to the Nashville Symphony to watch

I liked watching everyone play their instruments and how amazing it sounded. Hearing the music in
class was not the same as hearing it in the symphony. The song came to a solo part then faded into a
quite yet unresolved close. Everyone stood up to applause, then they announced the next song to be
played which was called Manfred Symphony in B minor, Op.58 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. This
section of the symphony lasted about 25 minutes. As it started I could hear the bassoons and bass

College life is very different from High School. Longer classes in some cases longer break periods,
and trying to balance your life at work, school, and home can be very overwhelming for most
students, making it very important to have a schedule and daily planner to better balance life at school

Creating a schedule and managing my time for myself has been both surprisingly easy and difficult.
My mornings from Monday to Thursday are the same for me as it was in High School. I would wake
up at 6:20 am, get dressed, eat breakfast, walk to the bus stop, wait, ride the bus to my High School,
enter my school, and wait until 8:00 am for class to start. Now instead of walking to the bus stop, my
mom gives me a ride to my uncle s house because he works near Pierce College and I ride with him to
school. He drops me off around 7:40 am and I wait until English 101 begins. Afterwards, once English
101 at 9:30 am I have a half hour break to eat lunch until Counseling 40 begins. Finally, at 11:30 am
Counseling 40 ends I wait in the library till 12:00 pm and walk to the Orange Line bus stop. And I ride
the bus and can be home by 1:30 pm. Afterwards, I would relax for an hour before I would work an
essay or read a chapter for an hour, then I would watch TV till 7:00 pm for dinner. My Friday s and

The environment has been in trouble for a long time. Americans have been dealing with air pollution,
overpopulation, natural resource depletion, pesticide, water pollution and public health issues. These
issues are causing environmental problems and had a negative effect on the environment. Most of

protect the environment and the public.

the US has taken huge measures to make sure there were not foreign attacks made on US soil again,

injured, but the number of deaths caused by homegrown terrorism far exceeds that number. Because of
