Analysis Of Social Inequality In Battle Royal By Ralph...
Social inequality seems to be more common in places you will not expect. The story Battle Royal By
Ralph Ellison explains that a young boy grows up to learn the harsh reality of being an invisible man.
The author does this by putting the main character in the story, though situations that make him realize
that he is diminished from society. The meaning of the story is supported by the setting of where
different things take place throughout the story. Places such as the main ballroom played an important
role. The ring of where the battle royal took place between the classmates can also be looked at to see
how the narrator explains his point. Towards the end is when the main character presents his speech in
a harsh environment that forces him to push his boundaries. These three settings throughout the story
help the reader understand the meaning of the story that social inequality can make someone become
an invisible man. According to the story Battle Royal by Ralph Ellison, the settings differ between
different parts of the story. In the beginning when the passage states It was in the main ballroom of the
leading hotel... was told since I was to be there anyway, I might as well take part in the battle royal to
be fought by some of my schoolmates as part of the entertainment (Ellison 205). The main character
finds himself having no choice but to do what he was told without a say about whether he would want
to or not. This form of obedience of social class between the African American boy and white men
happens throughout the story. Ralph Elision continues to explain that the form of entertainment was to
watch the kids fight brutally in a bloodshed battle between African school boys. It all began when he
was invited into the hotel ballroom that he would begin being told what to do or what to say or act.
The way the room was set up, put a boxing ring in front of a row of chairs from all three sides.
Immediately after the main character arrives to the boxing ring is when he faces a new challenge that
he must overcome. This fight between classmates has him worried that he might not even get a chance
to give his speech. The author implies that the setting of the boxing ring can intimidate anybody if

Essay about Outsourcing at Office Supply Inc. Case
INTRODUCTION
Office Supply Incorporated (OSI) is a company in crisis, with challenges in its cost structure and poor
IT performance. Outsourcing to Technology Infrastructure Solutions (TIS) is an opportunity to both
reduce costs and complexity for the firm, but first must consider whether outsourcing is a good
strategic fit for OSI. Outsourcing is known as the practice of turning over responsibility of some or all
of organizations information systems to a foreign firm in order to stay competitive. Outsourcing is not
new to the business world, as it dominated the manufacturing sector the past couple of decades. There
are various advantages and disadvantages. Advantages include lower costs, better quality, and
downsizing to focus on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides, the facilities maintenance for TIS would be less expensive because it could more effectively
manage floor space, heating and air conditioning, and power consumption, and its facility was located
in a less expensive city. Lastly, TIS had less disaster recovery and corporate overhead costs because it
had more efficient management and economies of scale.
Outsourcing would allow the OSI to focus only on its core business and would be more cost effective
for it to reduce capital infrastructure costs. Also improving employee satisfaction with higher value
addition jobs and making the best use of competitive resources available worldwide. Using an
outsourced company (TIS) would give it the same standard hardware and software platform. And
should be high speed and have a lower cost of Telecommunications.
Additional, here are a series of themes that explain most of the pressures for OSI to outsource. First of
all, managers concerns about cost and quality drive outsourcing. The same issues such as getting
existing services for a reduced price at acceptable quality standard came up repeatedly. Second, failure
to meet service standards can force management to find other ways of achieving reliability. Finding a
company in which cumulative IT management neglect eventually culminated in an out of control
situation from which the current IT

Why Are We Breaking Up
There is something that we need to talk about. I think it is time we break up. It s not me, it s you and I
feel like you should know why. First reason is that you can t tax people that don t have any money.
Many of the people of this great country fought for our freedom and liberty. Also the main reason why
we fought the revolutionary war was to stop this taxation put upon us by Britain, and now it s
happening again by you and I can t deal with this anymore. The second reason why we are breaking
up is because the freedom that the American revolution sought to preserve us proved to create a
government under the Articles of Confederation that could not keep law and order; it pointed out the
inability of the central government to maintain law

Personal Responsibility By Gabriel Garcia Marquez Essay
Personal responsibility is a principle that is educated in elementary school all the way through college;
it essentially means taking liability for all your thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Gabriel García
Márquez, Columbian novelist, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982: for his novels and
short stories, in which the fantastic and the realistic are combined in a richly composed world of
imagination, reflecting a continent s life and conflicts. ( The Nobel Foundation). He was an
exceptionally influential writer for including personal responsibility as a prominent theme in many of
his short stories. Julio Cortázar , an Argentine novelist, became well known for composing short
stories that united existential questions with experimental writing methods in his work. Along with
Márquez, he included the aspect of personal responsibility in his short stories. Recognizing that you
are exclusively accountable for the decisions in your life, understanding and agreeing that you are
responsible for what you decide to feel or believe, giving consent to the reality that you choose the
direction for your life and acknowledging that you cannot hold others responsible for the choices you
have made are all aspects of personal responsibility. Both of these authors explore the idea that human
beings choose, instigate, or cause their own actions; due to this idea each one of us are ethically and
morally responsible for our actions and where we end in life is consequently due

Examples Of Melting Pot In America
Melting Pot in America
I have always this question in my mind is America really a melting pot, Does America even have their
own culture. To me the melting pot is different cultures being represented, it is kind of like you are
making food and in order for that food to be good you put ingredients to make it nice. That is what
America is, it is different cultures being shown making it such a unique country. I do not yet think
America has acknowledge diversity for example in the short story Lullaby the Native American and
Americans are separated from each other but yet they live near each other. Their culture is not being
shown but yet being taken away when the doctor takes her kids. So even though has so many cultures
they have only taken what they wanted and have even made some up to compensate for that.
In the short story Lullaby a old woman recollect her past experience with trying to merge two cultures
together. In the midst of the merging she lost her children and her husband. She lost her husband by
death but it was because he had lost his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bad side of the melting pot is sometimes the culture is not even shown and when the culture is
shown it is now dimmed down to a smaller version of that. Which defeats the whole purpose of the
melting pot when we talk about the melting pot. It is supposed all of the cultures being shown and the
real authentic culture. America had a good intention for the melting pot but it has not turn out good.
With the story Lullaby it was showing two cultures come together but one race that was had more
power than the other overtook the other. The story Lullaby is what I would say is happening right now
with the melting pot. And the story The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World is what America
strives to have with the melting pot. To have new culture arrive and it be celebrated and also have that
culture make an

Voltaire s Candide
Voltaire s Candide Denouncing Providence
Eighteenth century France was ruled by the divine power of Louis le XIV, the regime of absolutisme
followed, restricting the liberties and creating a corrupt society founded on providence and religious
determinism. Les Philosophes des Lumières notably Voltaire instilled logic and reason to combat
theological and metaphysical solutions surrounding French populations whilst pushing for a separation
between the Catholic church and the state. Voltaire, also known as François Marie Arouet (1964 1778)
wrote Candide as an objection to many optimistic philosopher s theories surrounding providence and
human will. His main purpose in Candide was to ridicule a German optimistic philosopher known as

The reference to the devastating earthquake demonstrates that misfortunes can happen to innocent
people and philosophizing that we live in the best possible worlds (i.e not acting for one s self) is no
solution or way to live a progressive life or to avert such tragedies, thus he denounces that acting for
one s self is a better option. There is nothing moral about the earthquake hence, there is certainly no
justification for such a disaster. Pangloss is demonstrating blind optimism as he states everything is for
the best, even in situations as dreadful as this, ridiculing Leibniz theory of providence. Catriona Seth

Napoleon Bonaparte Hero Or Tyrant Essay
Napoleon: Hero or Tyrant?
In the wise words of Napoleon Bonaparte, Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those
endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct
them. Though he didn t know it when he spoke these sagacious words, it would soon come to the
attention of all, that he was predicting his own demise. He predicted his own future and his principle
change that ultimately leads him to become a tyrant.
Napoleon had made many great changes to the laws of France, to the French military and to the lives

He oppressed women, was deceitful, and let his thirst for power overrun his actions which can be seen
in the rise and fall of the Continental System. According to Napoleon, women [were] nothing but
machines for producing children which influenced his decision to abolish women s rights. This was
very detrimental to France because it was pushing the nation back into history rather than having it
evolve as the other countries were. Napoleon was also very deceitful in many ways. One example of
this was with the Italians. When he promised them freedom from the Austrians in return for their
loyalty, he turned his back on them and forced his ideals upon them with no warning. This is a very
deceitful act which later harms his authority over many of his colonies. As well as his deceitful act, he
also let his hatred for Britain cloud his judgement which can be seen in the creation of the Continental
System. The System lead to shortages in goods which ultimately lead them to be very expensive in
Europe. His feeble attempt to strangle Britain s economy by closing off all European ports was
unsuccessful which led to the Peninsular War and the war between Great Britain and

The Environment And Environmental Pollution
The environment molds plant and animal life, but over the past century humans have been able to alter
the environment. This change caused problems to the earth pollution to the earth, air, and water
sources. Pollution extends to the animals, vegetation, and humans as well. These damages are mostly
irreversible, and continue at a rapid pace. Pesticides are a large factor in this pollution. The earth can
adjust to these chemicals, but not fast enough. Every year 500 new synthetic chemicals are introduced.
Continuing to use these chemicals can be harmful to the future generations. The public is not informed
about the consequences of these chemicals, and must find out on their own. All humans will come in
contact with these chemicals. Chemical residues are everywhere: water sources, soil, and humans. The
production began during World War II, and is rapidly increasing. DDT, an organic phosphorus
insecticide, once thought to be harmless and used to help with lice during WWII, is now known to be
harmful. Other pesticides can cause harmful health problems. The body can naturally protect against
these chemicals but repeated doses weaken the body. Though many of these chemicals have been
banned in other countries because of the hazards the United States continue to have no restrictions.
Water has become the most precious natural resource, but the water source is becoming heavily
polluted. The water is affected indirectly, but the water continues to be contaminated. Drinking water

U.S and Vietnamese Military and Political leaders
U.S military and political relations with Vietnam today help think about why the U.S supported South
Vietnam and participated in the Vietnam War and how the relationship turned into the way it is today.
The Vietnam War started on November 1, 1955 and lasted until April 30, 1975. This war involved
many significant leaders such as Richard Nixon, Lyndon B Johnson, John F Kennedy, Ho Chi Minh
and many others. North Vietnam leaders had a great impact on the war by organizing many guerrillas
and offensives while the South Vietnam leaders were fighting against themselves. However, the U.S
took a more forceful approach to the war by sending in troops and engaging in nuclear warfare.
The most prominent North Vietnam leaders were Nguyen Giap and Ho Chi Minh and their
contributions has a substantial effect on the Vietnam War. Giap was the Commander in Chief of the
North Vietnam Army and is considered as one of the greatest commanders in history. Giap was
directly involved in many important campaigns during the Vietnam War such as the Tet Offensive
(January 30, 1968 Febuary 22, 1968), the Easter Offensive (March 30, 1972 October 22, 1972) and the
final Ho Chi Minh Campaign (April 9, 1975 April 30, 1975) (Rohn 1). Ho Chi Ming was a North

Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion Essay
Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion
There are many different ways in which Christians celebrate Holy Communion, depending on the
denomination of Christianity, in which they belong. Holy Communion is one of the seven sacraments
found in Christianity. A sacrament is an outward physical act with an inward, deeper meaning, which
can be obtained through various, specific rituals. In the case of Holy Communion, which is also
known as the Eucharist meal or Mass, Christian worshippers believe that they receive the body and the
blood of Jesus Christ, through the act of eating the bread, which symbolises Christ s body, and by

God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the good of all people and so that they too would depart from the
slavery and the submission to sins and wrongdoings, in order to enter into a pure state of forgiveness
and freedom. This is the key reason why Christians, of all branches, hold a great importance to Holy
Communion, which remembers Christ s sacrifice to them, which frees them of their sins up till this
day.
Even though, most, if not all Christian denominations agree about the origins of such a ritual, they
now have different opinions about how the service is conducted. The Roman Catholic Church believes
in the idea of transubstantiation, which is the belief that the bread and wine that they consume at the
Eucharist meal, has over the years, mystically transformed into Jesus real body and blood. Roman
Catholics celebrate Holy Communion or Mass regularly. Roman Catholics believe that the Mass is a
sacrifice. Each time it is celebrated Christ renews the sacrifice that he made for the sins of the world
when he was crucified. This is why they frequently celebrate it. In some Churches, only people who
have been confirmed are allowed to participate in the celebration of Holy Communion, whereas in the
Roman Catholic Church there is no such restriction. This emphasises how Jesus had welcomed
everybody in his own life and had treated everyone

Benefits Of Tahini Sesame Paste
Recently I bought some tahini sesame paste for a recipe I found in a cookbook.
For those of you, who are new to this, tahini comes from crushed sesame seeds.
It is one of the world s healthiest foods to eat.

My instincts told me to get the unhulled which I did, although I was concerned the unhulled tahini
sesame paste would not taste as sweet.
Unhulled is stronger in flavour, a little bitter in taste, and darker in colour. However, you soon get used
to the taste and after a while, it actually tastes really good.
If you are not sure of the taste you can always add some raw organic honey.

1.56. Discuss the agency problem in detail.
An agent is hired by the principal to perform some duty that benefits the needs of the principal. The
agency problem is an issue that occurs when the agents use their authority to make decisions in their
own interest at the expense of the principals. For example, company managers (agents) were put in
place to make decisions that maximize the wealth of the shareholders (principals) but may instead
engage in empire building or may make inefficient company decisions for job security. In order to
mitigate these potential agency problems, several mechanisms have evolved. These include directly
tying the compensation of managers to the success of the firm; oversight and influence by the board of
directors as well as outsiders such as security analysts, creditors, or large institutional investors; the
threat of a proxy contest by unhappy shareholders to replace the current management team; or the
threat of takeover by another firm. However, most of these mechanisms have a low chance of success
or can create other problems. The best mechanism that prevents agency problems is the threat of
takeover by another firm. If the

data table
4.Pour the mixture from a weigh boat onto a filter paper and spread it apart because you need to take
out all the iron with a magnet
5.Then use a magnet and take out the iron from the mixture because iron is the only thing that is

6.Place the iron on a weigh boat so that you have it separated from the other elements
7.Then measure the weigh boat by using a balance to find the mass
8.Subtract the original weigh boat mass from the one with iron in it and then record the correct
measurement for iron because the weight of the iron is affected by the weight of the weigh boat so it
will not be right until you subtract the weigh boat s mass
9.Pour the mixture of the remaining salt and sand onto a weigh boat and add water so that the salt will
become soluble and the sand will float down to the bottom

The Nature Of Work For Your Selected Career
Section 1 Identify your career of choice and discuss the nature of work for your selected career:
My selected major is computer science. As I grew up, I began to develop a love for computers and that
love grew each year, and each year I would use a computer even more than I had the year preceding
that year therefore generating my passion for computer science. Computer scientists have more than
one duty, as they have many. They usually work in a team with other computer programmers,
information technology professionals and mechanical and or electrical engineers. These teams come
up with ways to further computer technology by designing new technology. The skills required for
computer science can be overwhelming but the top two most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Computer Scientists usually work on more than one project a day. They cycle through several projects
looking at ways to improve code or write new code to include newer and better features to these
programs. Troubleshooting is a huge part of the computer scientists work day as they don t always get
the results they would hope for on the first run, so they troubleshoot until a certain problem is fixed or
a solution is found within the program.
Section 2 Preparation and qualifications for this career:
Becoming a Computer Scientist is not an easy task, it it were you could expect a lot more computer
scientists out there since a computer science degree is one of the hottest out there with one of the most
job offerings there has to offer for a four year degree. To become a Computer Scientist you must at
least get a bachelor s degree, which takes four years for most people. To complete an education in
computer science you must take courses relating in math, programming, stats, and introduction
courses to various topics within computer science and general education classes to complete a
bachelor s degree. The skills required to be prepared for computer science are being able to handle a
large workload, multitasking, staying focused, and being able to critically think. You may notice how
these skills relate closely to that of a person who is already a computer scientist, which is because
these skills are a

Planning Plan For Implementing The Planning Phase
PLANNING This program plan contains one goal and four measurable objectives in order to facilitate
the planning phase. These goals and objectives may change throughout the program plan, as it is
tentative. Furthermore, the goal and each objective will be evaluated at the end of the implementation
period in order to ensure each was met. Goal: The goal of this program plan is to educate and assist
college students in accessing the mental health resources that are available to them on college
campuses. Objectives: 1. 100% of participants will have accessed the mental health resources
available through the Counseling Center at Averett University. 2. 100% of participants will have
received mental health resources, such as pamphlets and counselor/psychologist contacts in order to
ensure the students maintain a positive mental state. 3. 50% of students will have worked with the
Counseling Center for the first time. 4. 100% of students will receive a pre and post test to test their
knowledge of mental health resources and pre and post counseling survey to show how counseling
affected their mental health/school dynamic. In order to ensure that this program plan is a success,
there are many factors, such as funding, assistance, and support that must be arranged properly and in
advance. In order to have assistance in providing mental health outlets to those who need it,
psychologists from the community as well as counselors from Averett University would need to be
utilized.

Why Did The Schlieffen Plan Fail
The Schlieffen Plan The Germans thought that they might have to go to war with Russia. If this would
happen/occur, France would most likely join Russia, considering that she was Russia s ally. This
would mean that Germany would have to fight a two front war, which would be a nightmare. The
Schlieffen Plan was a plan to avoid a war on two fronts against Russia and France. The plan itself
started in 1905 as a thought experiment, but the planning started before the 1900s(1892). The
Schlieffen Plan started the Franco Russian alliance. The obvious solution to the plan was to quickly
beat one country, then focus against the other one. But which country should/did they attack first? The

Evaluating Kant s Intentions For Each Premise
Here I hope to reflect Kant s intentions for each premise in the order presented above. (P1): I am
conscious of my experience as determined in time. P1 can be interpreted a few ways. Dicker in his
first interpretation takes his second premise to mean, (P2): I am aware that I have representations in
experience that occur in temporal succession (Dicker 195). In other words, I am not only conscious of
my experiences; I am also in a position where I recognize the order of my experiences presented by
my own mental representations. Ordering representations is only possible if these representations are
determined in time.
A thing which merely persists in perception does not itself reveal whether the persisting object
occurred in any particular order. (B275). So, seeing that I can determine the order in time of my own
subjective experiences, then there needs an additional capacity other than my own experiences
allowing me to do so.
Currently, we have rested the first two premises as possible. Accordingly, I will maintain subjective
experiences do not expose the determinate time order alone. This conclusion is not explicitly stated in
Dicker s reconstruction.
In the B version, Kant introduces a revised third premise (included above). Kant writes, that
representations need a second party persisting distinct from the representations. This idea illustrates
what information from representations might be sufficient in determining time orders. there seems to
be something other than the

John Barry Accomplishments
From captaining the American Navy s most prized frigates to being a man every sailor could actively
interact with, John Barry established himself to be an exceptional naval leader and hero. He guided his
ships and sailors through many successful battles which were key in the establishment of the
American Navy. Despite his great influence, Barry never put his personal interests in front of the Navy
s, and his dedication to the service centuries ago created the dominant Navy and Marine Corps team
present today. Because he was an expert and popular mariner, a focused individual, and a naval
visionary, John Barry was able to earn the title of Father of the American Navy.
There are many skills that naval officers in Barry s age required. They all needed to navigate,
communicate, and perform other tasks essential to their position. Barry excelled in these areas, but he
also went far beyond. He was very popular among his seamen. The interaction he had with his sailors

SWOT Analysis Of The PESTLE Model
The PESTLE model applies the political economic social technological legal and environmental
climate to assess the effect on the goals and objectives of the practice.

Kurt Lewins force field theory adds demographics and cultural effects to this mix. A SWOT analysis
can be applied in conjunction with these to highlight the strengths weaknesses and the opportunities

Workforce Management Tools (WFM) are utilised to allocate tasks to individual skills, with time lines
and other parameters. This aims to maximise efficiency and quality of service offered. OFP ensure that
the organisational (National Health Service England NHSE), the team (GP Practice) and the individual

I love to read, but it didn t start out that way. When I was in first grade and we are just starting to learn

when I look back on it now was not the smartest thing I could ve done. I knew how to read but it never

got into the fourth grade. Of course I, a kid who despised reading, was placed in the one class that had
a teacher that expected fifteen minutes of sustained reading every class. During the time she allotted
for reading I would sit stubbornly and refuse. My teacher contacted my mother to let her know what
was going on in class. She also told my mother that she wouldn t give up on me and that she just had
to find something that I was interested in. When the teacher took my class in the library to get new
books, she followed me around offering suggestions of what to read. It wasn t until I tried a book from

The Causes and Treatments of Acute Renal Failure
According to Sushrut Waikar, Every year more than 1 million hospitalizations in the United States are
complicated by acute kidney injury, accounting for an estimated $10 billion in excess costs to the
healthcare system. Acute Renal failure is the inability of your kidneys to work properly. Your kidneys
lose the ability to remove waste, filter and balance fluid and electrolytes. This type of renal failure
happens most often when there is an injury or trauma and blood flow to kidneys is severely
compromised. A person can return back to normal after having acute renal failure, that is if you detect
the problem and treat it on time. There are three causes prerenal, intrarenal and postrenal. In prerenal
there is a sudden and drastic drop in blood pressure which can result in no blood flow to your kidneys
also dehydration can be a part of it as well. Intrarenal occurs when the damage being done is directly
to the kidneys. This can happen from the overuse of medications. Medications are not bad when used
correctly but when you overuse or don t use them correctly they can be very harmful to your kidneys.
Postrenal is when there is an obstruction in the urinary tract most often from renal calculi or an
enlarged prostate in men that blocks the flow of urine.
Diagnostic tests can be done to determine kidney function. The most important test to determine
kidney function would be BUN and creatinine. Normal BUN is 6 20 mg/dl, creatinine normal levels
are 0.6 1.2mg/dl. If kidneys begin

The War Of 1812 And The United States Army Essay
The Army began its linage on June 14, 1775, when the Second Continental Congress created the
Continental Army in order to combine the 13 American colonies and fight the British forces (). From
then on out the United States Army has seen multiple wars from the War of 1812 to present wars
today, and will continue to be one the many forces to protect the USA. Now over the years, the United
States Army has had to shift the way it conducts its soldiers to fight in the wars and how to be
proficient in battle; even with the new warfare tactics that our enemies are developing daily. Like any
other unified team, how does the United States Army gain leverage against our enemies who look to
seize the free world? Well like many teams they have offensive operations, which are to seek
opportunities to gain leverage against their foes or even gain a win in the end and then they have
defensive operations. Defensive operations are the opposite of offensive operations where instead of
trying to take advantage of the enemy the Army s forces are trying to take a stance and push the
enemy back. Thus allowing a chance to defend the territory where the soldiers stand and hopefully
allow the soldiers to regain their forces. So like many other military forces we have used these tactics
for many of years to defend our great nation, but of course over the years are tactics have had to
change in order to adapt to different wars. So in this paper you will learn the most current tactics that

upper class and the lower classes will eventually lead towards civil riots and possible even a

The And Gold Tour Bus From Louisiana State University
On Losing Everything
This past week I saw that purple and gold tour bus from Louisiana State University in my town, not
only surprising me but also forcing me to think back on my childhood in the south. Growing up in
southern Louisiana one must be prepared for major storms and flooding at less than a day s notice.
Hurricanes are powerful storms that can ravish towns and can be deadly for people and animals alike.
Hurricane Katrina tore through the Gulf Coast in August of 2005, and I was in the midst of that
wreckage. My family and I were living in a small, close knit community, named St. Amant, about an
hour west of New Orleans. On the third day of the hurricane, my family experienced a loss greater

In no way do I mean to trivialize the severe and deadly effects hurricanes can potentially bring, but not
all hurricanes are the same. Most storms that would make it to the area I used to live usually lost
strength by the time it got to us. For the weaker storms, the kids would get a mini vacation from
school, and the parents got a much needed break from work. At the time, I thought everyone in
Louisiana and especially New Orleans were not ready for what was coming. Louisiana is a laid back
state, due to its French roots. The catch phrase for the state was always Laissez Les Bon Temps rouler,
or Let the good times roll! So, it s easy to see why the media portrayed Louisianan s as not caring
about the tropical storm that was headed our way. We did care, we were just expecting much less than
what we received. I think a good way to describe this is that people from California have been through
many earthquakes and are prepared for them, but would you stop living your life for a small
earthquake that might not happen? Probably not. My family tried to be as prepared as we possibly
could, but there is only so much money to go around buying things for situations that might not even
happen. My dad purchased our first gasoline generator earlier that year which sadly put a dent into our
emergency savings. Nevertheless, we had enough supplies, water, and food to last about a week if

Samuel Adams Beer Competitive Analysis

Liqueurs, on the other hand have a slightly lower ABV and are characterized by uniquely infused

Following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, the major breweries continued to use unmalted cereal
grains to provide the full body and mouthfeel of a real beer while keeping the alcohol content low. The
maturation tanks (they call them chip tanks) that Anheuser Busch utilizes are horizontal and, as such,
the yeast aggregates more quickly. Anheuser Busch refers to this process as a secondary fermentation,
with the idea being that the chips give the yeast more surface area to rest on. This is also combined
with a procedure that re introduces wort into the chip tank therefore activating the fermentation
process again. By placing chips at the bottom of the tank, the yeast remains in suspension longer,
giving it more time to reabsorb and process green beer flavors that Anheuser Busch believes are off
flavors which detract from overall drinkability. As with most food products opinions differ regarding
its taste. While some drinkers prefer the lightness of beers like Budweiser and consume it as

They are tall, brunette and men. They are different because Jerome does not have a heart condition,
where Vincent does. Also, I noticed that Jerome is right handed, and Vincent is left handed; this
provides symmetry.

important people in return for a part of their salary trades identities in the black market

3. What name does Jerome choose for himself? Is there any significance to this name? Jerome wants
to be called by his middle name: Eugene. With research on the internet, I have found that Eugene
comes from the Greek word meaning well born , which is a huge symbol in the movie. Also, eugenics
is the science of improving the genetic qualities of a species, which is also very interesting. 4. Do
Vincent and Jerome stick to their new names consistently through the film, or are there moments when
they revert to their original names? It is very rare that they use their original names since Vincent is
practically becoming Jerome (taking his identity).
5. As the story unfolds, Jerome s behavior and especially his remarks about himself reveal a great deal
. How would you describe his character? In this movie, the society only valued perfect individuals,
which means they had a bright future according to their DNA. Jerome realized he would never be seen
as human again because he became crippled after trying to commit suicide. In a way he was broken,
and the only valuable thing about him was his genetic code,

easy in life or handed to you. I consider her as the hardest working person I ever know, consequently
thanks to her hard work she achieved countless goals in her life. She would always say to me you have
to work hard to achieve your dreams , I believe her. If you knew her you ll be impressed by her strong
character, moreover, she is someone that you will admire if you met her and knew her. She makes a
wonderful mother and I m sure she will make a great friend. My mother s name is Lidia Montano
Ramos, she was born in La Paz, Bolivia; there she lived most of her life, next to the side of my father
who is her husband, moreover now they have 23 years married. If you ever wanted to meet my
mother, you could, it s obvious to tell her apart from a crowd. The first thing that calls for attention is
her hair, she has wavy hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets fighting the frizz that could be noticed
for a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low ponytail, but when she is going somewhere
elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you ll recognize the difference. The second point to notice
is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh coral pink, the upper lip is darker than the lower. She has
a tiny scar on the right side of the upper lip almost untraceable, however, it s most likely that you will
not notice it. When she paints her bow shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips are
traits that stand out the further, she has other characteristics too, although they don t stand out as much
as her hair and lips.
Her character is one of the strongest assets she has. She treats everyone equally with respect, but if
you disrespect her, she will just simply walk away without saying a word. Even though

Overpopulation In America
In the first part of the book, the author talks about how we are changing our relationship with the
world, and these changes that the author discusses potentially widened our ingenuity gap. The
ingenuity gap, is between our supply and requirement for ingenuity. Population increasing, meso
scale, and emergent properties, they are the changes that people made to this world. However, how
these changes widen our ingenuity gap? Population increasing has a big effect on society, environment
and natural resources. Through them, population can make a huge influence on ingenuity gap; meso
scale makes us unable to see the outside world and we cannot come up with the new ideal; emergent
properties make the problem more complex, so it is becoming more ... Show more content on

Meso scale makes people not able to see the outside world, people cannot come up with the new
solution without seeing the problem. City is a good example of a meso scale, and in the city people see
little soil or they don t see it at all. One way notice the soil is when it gets you dirty. Though, the soil
doesn t only get you dirty, It is very important for us. However, because of the meso scale most of us
cannot see the importance. Without the soil people can t plant crops, build houses,or even drive car. Of
course ,it is possible to use fertilizer to grow the crops ,still there is no bacteria in fertilizer and the
fertilizer can t help the crops handle their waste. In the soil there are countless bacteria and worms to
help the crops handle their waste and convert them to nutrient that help a lot for the crops.
Unfortunately, in the city most of people don t know about the soil. Anything is that outside of the
world, it is always very small or very large for people. Our Milky Way Galaxy s diameter is about 120
thousands light year. It means if we use the fastest speed which is light speed, it will take 120
thousands years to cross the galaxy. In the city most of us don t know this. Of course, we can learn
these things by internet. However, it is only for particular interest groups and communities. And don t

Video Games Impact On Society
Video Games have been a growing interest to the people since the early 1980 s.
Video games have been a lasting influence on our youth and adults in today s society, games in the
making throughout their time have came from a slow pace, pixely, more of a puzzle type of games.
Nowadays games today are more real life making it feel like the game you re playing to be real life.
They also are fast pace, not as much thinking involved, just run around shoot em up type of games that
are in demand, stems the question are video games beneficial or hazardous? A Lot of people in today s
society have the opinion that videogames are a waste of time, create antisocial behaviors, and have a
negative influence on the person s physical and mental health, because they have a lot of violent
content. In my opinion video games have a very positive impact on people today and they are
beneficial by giving people a brain workout, it promotes social activity and teamwork, it also proven
to improve your psychological well being.
Furthermore, playing video games gives you a mental workout meaning playing different types of
games requires high levels of brain activity, and abstract thinking. By playing Shooter games gives the
person a more faster reaction time, this can be helpful in anything you do in life whether it be barely
getting out of the way of a moving car, catching a baseball getting hit back at you, or something as
simple as grabbing something before it falls. Kühn observed her subjects

Summary
About two thousands metric tons of high unreached uranium are spread around the world in militaries
facilities. Securing those facilities is step number one for a world free of nuclear weapons. Also,
Terror group threats should be taken into account for a safer world. The proliferation of nuclear
weapons considered a threat to the globe. However, huge steps were taken by the international
committee to eliminate nuclear weapons. Finally, high enriched uranium could be replaced to nuclear
fuel that generating clean energy and making the world more peaceful.

However, many countries started to seek for these kind of weapons. After about three decades of the
first use of nuclear attack, a nuclear power plant major accident occurred in Chernobyl, causes a huge
amounts of radioactive particles to spread around the plant. Due to that, the surrounded city was
evacuated and a lot of people was contaminated and some of them died [2].
II. Securing Nuclear Materials Facilities
The first step in nuclear free world plan is highly secure the weapons grade materials such as high
enriched uranium and plutonium. Even thought, Y 12 nuclear weapons production facility was
intruded by protesters back in 2012. This facility is highly protected and secured. Nevertheless, the
protesters made it to the main building. Fortunately, they didn t mean to harm anything. The point of
the protesters is to send a message that peace is much better than war [3]. Y 12 break is a proof that
nuclear facilities still have lake of secure and surveillance. Moreover, Nuclear weapons facilities are
spread in forty countries around the world. Because of that, Increasing the securing standards of

The Physics of a Golf Ball Essay
The Physics of a Golf Ball
The first written reference of golf was in 1457. Golf balls have had extraordinary changes since that
time; they ve gone from leather pouches to dried gum to today s dimpled balls. These dimples help
decrease the drag and increase the lift. Different forces are applied to the golf ball when struck by the
club. Golf clubs have grooves to create backspin. And then there are different variables that affect how
a golf ball will travel, these include: lie angle and the shaft length. A golfer must never forget about
the wind factor . And last but not least , a golfer must flat out use his own judgment in the game of
golf. The game of golf has a science all of it s own, and even the best players have ... Show more

Therefore, the Gutta percha ball arrived on the scene in 1848 to take on the role of smooth, solid, dried
gum from the Malaysian sapodilla tree. These guttie balls had two negatives; they sometimes broke
into pieces as some modern solid balls have been known to do and they did not fly as well as the
feather balls. None the less, as these balls were used their surfaces became roughened. Players soon
realized, however, that cut up balls flew further and the concept of dimples was born. But why are
dimples purposely molded into the modern day golf ball? This question deals with the way that air
affects the flight of a spinning object (or aerodynamics if you will) and that s the bottom line.
Moreover, two simple principles will be discussed in great detail hereafter: lift and drag. Let s not run
faster than we are able though. Before we get on a rampage let s look at what experience has taught us
about a spinning ball. A British scientist in 1887, Professor P.G. Tait owns all the credit to the findings
concerning the importance of spin on the flight of a golf ball. He relates that in his youth he was
taught that all spin is detrimental and he practiced assiduously to master the art of hitting a ball almost
free of spin. After many complex and frustrating experiences, Professor Tait states clearly that, a ball
driven with spin about a horizontal axis with the top of the ball coming toward the golfer,

The Effects Of Water On Our Human Lives
Introduction: Water is not only a necessity to our everyday lives, but it also serves as an important
component when it comes to recreation. Knowing how to manage a lake or reservoir for these
different aspects is a key ingredient to satisfying our human needs; for survival as well as leisure.
Because less than 1% of all water on Earth is safe for humans to drink, it is crucial that these waters be
carefully managed to sustain current and future generations. Water based recreation, such as fishing, is
important to millions of individuals throughout the world, thus it also has a large economic impact.

Cultural eutrophication involves the artificial influx of nutrients into an aquatic ecosystem and can
have severe effects on the organisms that live within the ecosystem (Anders and Ashley 2007). The
most common source of these influxes of nutrients comes in the form of surrounding terrestrial runoff
and atmospheric input, thus being very sensitive to seasonal inputs (Guildford and Hecky 2000).
Within the last few decades there has been a new process arise from the other end of the spectrum,
termed cultural oligotrophication, which is actually the opposite of eutrophication; it is the result of a
human induced reduction of the naturally occurring nutrients that occur in an aquatic system (Anders
and Ashley 2007). Waters affected by this type of oligotrophication tend to be very clear and lack the
nutrients that they would have had they not been altered to be aesthetically pleasing to the human eye,
thus having poor biological productivity (Anders and Ashley 2007).
Understanding that we need to manage lakes in a way that is in the best interest of the lake, and not so
that it is aesthetically pleasing, is vital to keeping these lakes healthy for years to come.
The objective of this study was to compare the nutrient (phosphate and nitrate) loads of two reservoirs
constructed for different purposes (one for drinking water and the other for recreation), determine if
the lakes were in a stable state for each of their purposes, and propose a

Exchange Rate and Balance of Payments
1. We chose Japanese Yen as are benchmark exchange rate because Japan is part of the G 10 Countries
with U.S. and one of the major economies in the world. Japan is also a Key U.S. Business Partner in
importing and exporting goods and services. Through our findings we have developed our insight of
the Japanese Yen being very volatile to the dollar. In the graph shown below, we can conclude that
from 1995 till 1999 the Japanese yen was weaker against Dollar. The process has been repeated
between the years 2001 03 and 2006 recent. 2. Balance of Current Account shows one country s

and Japan. Relative PPP describes the difference in the rates of inflation between two nations and
recalculating the exact exchange rate in which it can be hold. Say for example Japan Inflation rate is
7% compare to U.S. 5% so the goods in Japan are more expensive then U.S. but according to Relative
PPP, basket of goods are suppose to cost the same in both countries. For Relative PPP to hold either
U.S Dollar should increase by 2% or Japanese Yen should decrease by 2%, as a result goods in both
countries would have the same cost. Thus we will try to calculate and come up with a solution which
can support Relative PPP between U.S. and Japan. The following steps will help us determine our
answer. We will first determine the weekly Exchange rate between U.S. and Japan in the form of
Yen/Dollar for the span of 6 years, December 1999 till December 2005. Then we will gather weekly
information of Consumer Price Index (CPI) for both countries during the same span. CPI measures the
change in prices for common household goods over time. The data can be collected from Websites like
bls.gov. We will then put all this information together in a spreadsheet format like for example: YEN/$
Japan CPI U.S. CPI Now we have to calculate the inflation rate of both countries using the CPI index.
To calculate the inflation rate we have to

Freud s Abolishment Of Private Property
Freud believes that man has a natural tendency to act aggressively towards each other and no matter
the scenario this natural aggression will establish itself in the society just as it does in the individual.
One vent of this aggression is private property because it requires some amount of force to keep.
Freud s main problem with communism is the abolition of property will erase the injustices of the
system but not address the root cause Aggressiveness was not created by property Freud, leading to
another manifestation of aggression in the new communist society. A historic example of the natural
aggressiveness of man could be seen in the former soviet union to a debatable degree. After the
abolishment of private property and popular submission to the state the Soviets became one of the
most brutal regimes in history, committing the unthinkable to man, woman, and child. The same could
be seen in Mao s communist china. This could be argued due to the fact that brutal treatment of the
populus by the state is not inherent to communist governments but it seems to be a common theme. ...

He states that that the male competition to find a woman is another form of natural aggression If we
were to remove this factor, too, by allowing complete freedom of sexual life and thus abolishing the
family, we cannot easily foresee what new paths the development of civilization could take; but one
thing we can expect, and that is that this indestructible feature of human nature will follow it there.
The common idea with Freud is that you can change the situation people are in but not the people s
natural needs and desires. This theory requires Freud s initial idea that humans are naturally hostile to
each other and that the system isn t what is causing the pain within the society but natural law, since
the state s purpose is to reduce hostility and enact societal law it can spark

Analysis Of SocialInequality In Battle Royal By Ralph... Social inequality seems to be more common in places you will not expect. The story Battle Royal By Ralph Ellison explains that a young boy grows up to learn the harsh reality of being an invisible man. The author does this by putting the main character in the story, though situations that make him realize that he is diminished from society. The meaning of the story is supported by the setting of where different things take place throughout the story. Places such as the main ballroom played an important role. The ring of where the battle royal took place between the classmates can also be looked at to see how the narrator explains his point. Towards the end is when the main character presents his speech in a harsh environment that forces him to push his boundaries. These three settings throughout the story help the reader understand the meaning of the story that social inequality can make someone become an invisible man. According to the story Battle Royal by Ralph Ellison, the settings differ between different parts of the story. In the beginning when the passage states It was in the main ballroom of the leading hotel... was told since I was to be there anyway, I might as well take part in the battle royal to be fought by some of my schoolmates as part of the entertainment (Ellison 205). The main character finds himself having no choice but to do what he was told without a say about whether he would want to or not. This form of obedience of social class between the African American boy and white men happens throughout the story. Ralph Elision continues to explain that the form of entertainment was to watch the kids fight brutally in a bloodshed battle between African school boys. It all began when he was invited into the hotel ballroom that he would begin being told what to do or what to say or act. The way the room was set up, put a boxing ring in front of a row of chairs from all three sides. Immediately after the main character arrives to the boxing ring is when he faces a new challenge that he must overcome. This fight between classmates has him worried that he might not even get a chance to give his speech. The author implies that the setting of the boxing ring can intimidate anybody if there were ... Outsourcing to Technology Infrastructure Solutions (TIS) is an opportunity to both reduce costs and complexity for the firm, but first must consider whether outsourcing is a good strategic fit for OSI. Outsourcing is known as the practice of turning over responsibility of some or all of organizations information systems to a foreign firm in order to stay competitive. Outsourcing would allow the OSI to focus only on its core business and would be more cost effective for it to reduce capital infrastructure costs. Using an outsourced company (TIS) would give it the same standard hardware and software platform. And should be high speed and have a lower cost of Telecommunications. Personal Responsibility ByGabriel Garcia Marquez Essay Personal responsibility is a principle that is educated in elementary school all the way through college; it essentially means taking liability for all your thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Gabriel García Márquez, Columbian novelist, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982: for his novels and short stories, in which the fantastic and the realistic are combined in a richly composed world of imagination, reflecting a continent s life and conflicts. ( The Nobel Foundation). He was an exceptionally influential writer for including personal responsibility as a prominent theme in many of his short stories. Julio Cortázar , an Argentine novelist, became well known for composing short stories that united existential questions with experimental writing methods in his work. Along with Márquez, he included the aspect of personal responsibility in his short stories. Recognizing that you are exclusively accountable for the decisions in your life, understanding and agreeing that you are responsible for what you decide to feel or believe, giving consent to the reality that you choose the direction for your life and acknowledging that you cannot hold others responsible for the choices you have made are all aspects of personal responsibility. Examples Of MeltingPot In America Melting Pot in America I have always this question in my mind is America really a melting pot, Does America even have their own culture. To me the melting pot is different cultures being represented, it is kind of like you are making food and in order for that food to be good you put ingredients to make it nice. That is what America is, it is different cultures being shown making it such a unique country. I do not yet think America has acknowledge diversity for example in the short story Lullaby the Native American and Americans are separated from each other but yet they live near each other. Their culture is not being shown but yet being taken away when the doctor takes her kids. So even though has so many cultures they have only taken what they wanted and have even made some up to compensate for that. Voltaire s Candide Voltaires Candide Denouncing Providence Eighteenth century France was ruled by the divine power of Louis le XIV, the regime of absolutisme followed, restricting the liberties and creating a corrupt society founded on providence and religious determinism. Les Philosophes des Lumières notably Voltaire instilled logic and reason to combat theological and metaphysical solutions surrounding French populations whilst pushing for a separation between the Catholic church and the state. Voltaire, also known as François Marie Arouet (1964 1778) wrote Candide as an objection to many optimistic philosopher s theories surrounding providence and human will. His main purpose in Candide was to ridicule a German optimistic philosopher known as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reference to the devastating earthquake demonstrates that misfortunes can happen to innocent people and philosophizing that we live in the best possible worlds (i.e not acting for one s self) is no solution or way to live a progressive life or to avert such tragedies, thus he denounces that acting for one s self is a better option. There is nothing moral about the earthquake hence, there is certainly no justification for such a disaster. Pangloss is demonstrating blind optimism as he states everything is for the best, even in situations as dreadful as this, ridiculing Leibniz theory of providence. Catriona Seth PhD, a professor for 18th century French literature at Oxford University in her blog: Why is there an earthquake in Candide? Discusses the Lisbon Earthquake present in Candide: Following the earthquake, the philosophy of optimism no longer seemed defensible to someone like Voltaire. As he wrote to a correspondent on November 30th 1755, here is an argument against your optimism [Lisbon earthquake] . Napoleon Bonaparte HeroOr Tyrant Essay Napoleon: Hero or Tyrant? In the wise words of Napoleon Bonaparte, Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them. Though he didn t know it when he spoke these sagacious words, it would soon come to the attention of all, that he was predicting his own demise. He predicted his own future and his principle change that ultimately leads him to become a tyrant. Napoleon had made many great changes to the laws of France, to the French military and to the lives of the French. Napoleon created the Napoleonic Code, which substantially changed the laws of France. The Napoleonic Code was the French civil code established in 1804 which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He oppressed women, was deceitful, and let his thirst for power overrun his actions which can be seen in the rise and fall of the Continental System. According to Napoleon, women [were] nothing but machines for producing children which influenced his decision to abolish women s rights. This was very detrimental to France because it was pushing the nation back into history rather than having it evolve as the other countries were. Napoleon was also very deceitful in many ways. One example of this was with the Italians. When he promised them freedom from the Austrians in return for their loyalty, he turned his back on them and forced his ideals upon them with no warning. This is a very deceitful act which later harms his authority over many of his colonies. As well as his deceitful act, he also let his hatred for Britain cloud his judgement which can be seen in the creation of the Continental System. The System lead to shortages in goods which ultimately lead them to be very expensive in Europe. His feeble attempt to strangle Britain s economy by closing off all European ports was unsuccessful which led to the Peninsular War and the war between Great Britain and ... The Environment AndEnvironmental Pollution The environment molds plant and animal life, but over the past century humans have been able to alter the environment. This change caused problems to the earth pollution to the earth, air, and water sources. Pollution extends to the animals, vegetation, and humans as well. These damages are mostly irreversible, and continue at a rapid pace. Pesticides are a large factor in this pollution. The earth can adjust to these chemicals, but not fast enough. Every year 500 new synthetic chemicals are introduced. Continuing to use these chemicals can be harmful to the future generations. The public is not informed about the consequences of these chemicals, and must find out on their own. All humans will come in contact with these chemicals. Chemical residues are everywhere: water sources, soil, and humans. The production began during World War II, and is rapidly increasing. DDT, an organic phosphorus insecticide, once thought to be harmless and used to help with lice during WWII, is now known to be harmful. Other pesticides can cause harmful health problems. The body can naturally protect against these chemicals but repeated doses weaken the body. Though many of these chemicals have been banned in other countries because of the hazards the United States continue to have no restrictions. Water has become the most precious natural resource, but the water source is becoming heavily polluted. The water is affected indirectly, but the water continues to be contaminated. Christians Celebrations ofHoly Communion Essay Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion There are many different ways in which Christians celebrate Holy Communion, depending on the denomination of Christianity, in which they belong. Holy Communion is one of the seven sacraments found in Christianity. A sacrament is an outward physical act with an inward, deeper meaning, which can be obtained through various, specific rituals. In the case of Holy Communion, which is also known as the Eucharist meal or Mass, Christian worshippers believe that they receive the body and the blood of Jesus Christ, through the act of eating the bread, which symbolises Christ s body, and by drinking the wine, said to be his blood. God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the good of all people and so that they too would depart from the slavery and the submission to sins and wrongdoings, in order to enter into a pure state of forgiveness and freedom. This is the key reason why Christians, of all branches, hold a great importance to Holy Communion, which remembers Christ s sacrifice to them, which frees them of their sins up till this day. Even though, most, if not all Christian denominations agree about the origins of such a ritual, they now have different opinions about how the service is conducted. The Roman Catholic Church believes in the idea of transubstantiation, which is the belief that the bread and wine that they consume at the Eucharist meal, has over the years, mystically transformed into Jesus real body and blood. Roman Catholics celebrate Holy Communion or Mass regularly. Roman Catholics believe that the Mass is a sacrifice. Each time it is celebrated Christ renews the sacrifice that he made for the sins of the world when he was crucified. This is why they frequently celebrate it. In some Churches, only people who have been confirmed are allowed to participate in the celebration of Holy Communion, whereas in the Roman Catholic Church there is no such restriction. This emphasises how Jesus had welcomed everybody in his own life and had treated everyone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Benefits Of TahiniSesame Paste Recently I bought some tahini sesame paste for a recipe I found in a cookbook. For those of you, who are new to this, tahini comes from crushed sesame seeds. It is one of the world s healthiest foods to eat. I went to the local shops to buy some, there were two jars, hulled and unhulled. My instincts told me to get the unhulled which I did, although I was concerned the unhulled tahini sesame paste would not taste as sweet. Unhulled is stronger in flavour, a little bitter in taste, and darker in colour. However, you soon get used to the taste and after a while, it actually tastes really good. An agent is hired by the principal to perform some duty that benefits the needs of the principal. The agency problem is an issue that occurs when the agents use their authority to make decisions in their own interest at the expense of the principals. For example, company managers (agents) were put in place to make decisions that maximize the wealth of the shareholders (principals) but may instead engage in empire building or may make inefficient company decisions for job security. In order to mitigate these potential agency problems, several mechanisms have evolved. These include directly tying the compensation of managers to the success of the firm; oversight and influence by the board of directors as well as outsiders such as security analysts, creditors, or large institutional investors; the threat of a proxy contest by unhappy shareholders to replace the current management team; or the threat of takeover by another firm. However, most of these mechanisms have a low chance of success or can create other problems. The best mechanism that prevents agency problems is the threat of takeover by another firm. If the ... Evaluating Kant sIntentions For Each Premise Here I hope to reflect Kant s intentions for each premise in the order presented above. (P1): I am conscious of my experience as determined in time. P1 can be interpreted a few ways. Dicker in his first interpretation takes his second premise to mean, (P2): I am aware that I have representations in experience that occur in temporal succession (Dicker 195). In other words, I am not only conscious of my experiences; I am also in a position where I recognize the order of my experiences presented by my own mental representations. Ordering representations is only possible if these representations are determined in time. A thing which merely persists in perception does not itself reveal whether the persisting object occurred in any particular order. (B275). So, seeing that I can determine the order in time of my own subjective experiences, then there needs an additional capacity other than my own experiences allowing me to do so. Currently, we have rested the first two premises as possible. Accordingly, I will maintain subjective experiences do not expose the determinate time order alone. This conclusion is not explicitly stated in Dicker s reconstruction. In the B version, Kant introduces a revised third premise (included above). Kant writes, that representations need a second party persisting distinct from the representations. This idea illustrates what information from representations might be sufficient in determining time orders. there seems to be something other than the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why I WasSurprised When Octavie Was Still Alive I was very surprised with the end to The Locket. In no way did I think that Edmond was still alive. According to the short story Edmond was at war, but he never got seriously injured. So, when I read that he had past, and the locket was returned to Octavie I was shocked. Reflective Essay AboutReading I love to read, but it didn t start out that way. When I was in first grade and we are just starting to learn how to read books, I remember being mad because I wasn t in the advanced reading group. The advanced reading group got a different book than everyone in the normal reading level and got to work in a different section of the room. This made me so mad that I decided I didn t want to try which, when I look back on it now was not the smartest thing I could ve done. I knew how to read but it never really appealed to me, especially since I wasn t the most proficient reader. And why would I want to read a book when I could play with a Bratz doll? My feelings on reading never really changed until I got into the fourth grade. Of course I, a kid who despised reading, was placed in the one class that had a teacher that expected fifteen minutes of sustained reading every class. During the time she allotted for reading I would sit stubbornly and refuse. My teacher contacted my mother to let her know what was going on in class. She also told my mother that she wouldn t give up on me and that she just had to find something that I was interested in. When the teacher took my class in the library to get new books, she followed me around offering suggestions of what to read. It wasn t until I tried a book from the Lily Quench series that I actually found something that I enjoyed. The book is about a girl who is orphaned and is the last person in her village with the power to slay ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Causes andTreatments of Acute Renal Failure According to Sushrut Waikar, Every year more than 1 million hospitalizations in the United States are complicated by acute kidney injury, accounting for an estimated $10 billion in excess costs to the healthcare system. Acute Renal failure is the inability of your kidneys to work properly. Your kidneys lose the ability to remove waste, filter and balance fluid and electrolytes. This type of renal failure happens most often when there is an injury or trauma and blood flow to kidneys is severely compromised. A person can return back to normal after having acute renal failure, that is if you detect the problem and treat it on time. There are three causes prerenal, intrarenal and postrenal. In prerenal there is a sudden and drastic drop in blood pressure which can result in no blood flow to your kidneys also dehydration can be a part of it as well. Intrarenal occurs when the damage being done is directly to the kidneys. This can happen from the overuse of medications. Medications are not bad when used correctly but when you overuse or don t use them correctly they can be very harmful to your kidneys. Postrenal is when there is an obstruction in the urinary tract most often from renal calculi or an enlarged prostate in men that blocks the flow of urine. Diagnostic tests can be done to determine kidney function. The most important test to determine kidney function would be BUN and creatinine. Normal BUN is 6 20 mg/dl, creatinine normal levels are 0.6 1.2mg/dl. If kidneys begin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The War Of1812 And The United States Army Essay The Army began its linage on June 14, 1775, when the Second Continental Congress created the Continental Army in order to combine the 13 American colonies and fight the British forces (). From then on out the United States Army has seen multiple wars from the War of 1812 to present wars today, and will continue to be one the many forces to protect the USA. Now over the years, the United States Army has had to shift the way it conducts its soldiers to fight in the wars and how to be proficient in battle; even with the new warfare tactics that our enemies are developing daily. Like any other unified team, how does the United States Army gain leverage against our enemies who look to seize the free world? Well like many teams they have offensive operations, which are to seek opportunities to gain leverage against their foes or even gain a win in the end and then they have defensive operations. Defensive operations are the opposite of offensive operations where instead of trying to take advantage of the enemy the Army s forces are trying to take a stance and push the enemy back. Thus allowing a chance to defend the territory where the soldiers stand and hopefully allow the soldiers to regain their forces. So like many other military forces we have used these tactics for many of years to defend our great nation, but of course over the years are tactics have had to change in order to adapt to different wars. So in this paper you will learn the most current tactics that our Army ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Los Angeles RiotsIn Twilight By Anne Deavere Smith According to Karl Marx s Theory, taken from his Communist Manifesto the struggles between the upper class and the lower classes will eventually lead towards civil riots and possible even a revolution. While Aristotle s Theory in Poetics argued that social change is inevitable and a means to an end . The book Twilight : 1992 by Anne Deavere Smith exemplifies these ideas through the use of multiple perspectives from individuals who witnessed, participated or in someway were affected by the Los Angeles Riots of 1992, which she personally interviewed. The And GoldTour Bus From Louisiana State University On Losing Everything This past week I saw that purple and gold tour bus from Louisiana State University in my town, not only surprising me but also forcing me to think back on my childhood in the south. Growing up in southern Louisiana one must be prepared for major storms and flooding at less than a day s notice. Hurricanes are powerful storms that can ravish towns and can be deadly for people and animals alike. Hurricane Katrina tore through the Gulf Coast in August of 2005, and I was in the midst of that wreckage. Most storms that would make it to the area I used to live usually lost strength by the time it got to us. For the weaker storms, the kids would get a mini vacation from school, and the parents got a much needed break from work. At the time, I thought everyone in Louisiana and especially New Orleans were not ready for what was coming. Louisiana is a laid back state, due to its French roots. The catch phrase for the state was always Laissez Les Bon Temps rouler, or Let the good times roll! So, it s easy to see why the media portrayed Louisianan s as not caring about the tropical storm that was headed our way. We did care, we were just expecting much less than what we received. I think a good way to describe this is that people from California have been through many earthquakes and are prepared for them, but would you stop living your life for a small earthquake that might not happen? Probably not. My family tried to be as prepared as we possibly could, but there is only so much money to go around buying things for situations that might not even happen. Following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, the major breweries continued to use unmalted cereal grains to provide the full body and mouthfeel of a real beer while keeping the alcohol content low. The maturation tanks (they call them chip tanks) that Anheuser Busch utilizes are horizontal and, as such, the yeast aggregates more quickly. Anheuser Busch refers to this process as a secondary fermentation, with the idea being that the chips give the yeast more surface area to rest on. This is also combined with a procedure that re introduces wort into the chip tank therefore activating the fermentation process again. By placing chips at the bottom of the tank, the yeast remains in suspension longer, giving it more time to reabsorb and process green beer flavors that Anheuser Busch believes are off flavors which detract from overall drinkability. As with most food products opinions differ regarding its taste. Describe My Mother Iview my mother as the outmost magnificent person in my life, and I can t be more thankful to have her. I would describe my mother as a strong and independent woman, my role model; I can t think of another person that means a great deal to me. My mother is the sweetest and the trust worthiest person, but she can also be tough and deliberate. My grandparent s personalities are strict, therefore my mother was raised in a harsh environment, this thought her to be strong and that not everything is easy in life or handed to you. I consider her as the hardest working person I ever know, consequently thanks to her hard work she achieved countless goals in her life. She would always say to me you have to work hard to achieve your dreams , I believe her. If you knew her you ll be impressed by her strong character, moreover, she is someone that you will admire if you met her and knew her. She makes a wonderful mother and I m sure she will make a great friend. My mother s name is Lidia Montano Ramos, she was born in La Paz, Bolivia; there she lived most of her life, next to the side of my father who is her husband, moreover now they have 23 years married. If you ever wanted to meet my mother, you could, it s obvious to tell her apart from a crowd. The first thing that calls for attention is her hair, she has wavy hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets fighting the frizz that could be noticed for a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low ponytail, but when she is going somewhere elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you ll recognize the difference. The second point to notice is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh coral pink, the upper lip is darker than the lower. She has a tiny scar on the right side of the upper lip almost untraceable, however, it s most likely that you will not notice it. When she paints her bow shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips are traits that stand out the further, she has other characteristics too, although they don t stand out as much as her hair and lips. Her character is one of the strongest assets she has. She treats everyone equally with respect, but if you disrespect her, she will just simply walk away without saying a word. Even though ... The Physics ofa Golf Ball Essay The Physics of a Golf Ball The first written reference of golf was in 1457. Golf balls have had extraordinary changes since that time; they ve gone from leather pouches to dried gum to today s dimpled balls. These dimples help decrease the drag and increase the lift. Different forces are applied to the golf ball when struck by the club. Golf clubs have grooves to create backspin. And then there are different variables that affect how a golf ball will travel, these include: lie angle and the shaft length. A golfer must never forget about the wind factor . And last but not least , a golfer must flat out use his own judgment in the game of golf. The game of golf has a science all of it s own, and even the best players have ... None the less, as these balls were used their surfaces became roughened. Players soon realized, however, that cut up balls flew further and the concept of dimples was born. But why are dimples purposely molded into the modern day golf ball? This question deals with the way that air affects the flight of a spinning object (or aerodynamics if you will) and that s the bottom line. Moreover, two simple principles will be discussed in great detail hereafter: lift and drag. Let s not run faster than we are able though. He relates that in his youth he was taught that all spin is detrimental and he practiced assiduously to master the art of hitting a ball almost free of spin. Cultural eutrophication involves the artificial influx of nutrients into an aquatic ecosystem and can have severe effects on the organisms that live within the ecosystem (Anders and Ashley 2007). The most common source of these influxes of nutrients comes in the form of surrounding terrestrial runoff and atmospheric input, thus being very sensitive to seasonal inputs (Guildford and Hecky 2000). Within the last few decades there has been a new process arise from the other end of the spectrum, termed cultural oligotrophication, which is actually the opposite of eutrophication; it is the result of a human induced reduction of the naturally occurring nutrients that occur in an aquatic system (Anders and Ashley 2007). Waters affected by this type of oligotrophication tend to be very clear and lack the nutrients that they would have had they not been altered to be aesthetically pleasing to the human eye, thus having poor biological productivity (Anders and Ashley 2007). Understanding that we need to manage lakes in a way that is in the best interest of the lake, and not so that it is aesthetically pleasing, is vital to keeping these lakes healthy for years to come.
