Designing A Mathematical Model For Interpersonal...
Personally speaking, I think the definition of hobbies is that someone prefers do so than go to sleep at
night. In that case, I listed my hobbies as below.
One of them is doing math problems. It is a pleasure for me to solve those intriguing problems. Every
time I solve a problem that was challenging to me, I feel very happy for the self achievement. Even if
it occurs at a deep night, I will get refreshed by the ecstasy. I was only four when I first tasted the
sweetness of math. At the high school, this interest has extended to the enjoyment of modeling,
because constructing a model is arduous too, whereas a good result brings really a lot of happiness at
the end. Much related to modeling, my research problem in 2015 is to construct a ... Show more

With programming skills, I finished a number of projects, whose success facilitated me to continue on
my work. For instance, I celebrated my ten year old birthday party by successfully constructing a
program that could either produce or solve sudoku puzzles. On that day, the program gave me a
puzzle, and solved the puzzle itself. I considered this gift as more memorable than any other one. In
my high school, I made a software that helps us reciting English vocabularies by a technique similar to
flashcards. The advantage in efficiency makes it better than the latter. The software, for example,
supports data importing while flashcards do not. In addition to the improvement of manual efficiency,
the software expressed a strong enhancement of the users speed of reciting words, aka., the
effectiveness. It was based on the forgetting curve proposed by Hermann Ebbinghaus, which
quantifies the interval between each repetition of memorizing process. I made a little adjustment to the
values, and set them as the time intervals between the repetitive appearances of a word. In this sense,
the word repeats again and again, and deepens the memorization every time. The memorization
becomes very deep using this strategy. I made a comparison between the efficiency of reciting
vocabularies using the traditional methodology and using this program. The result was that both in one
hour, the traditional way could only make me fully recall approximately 120 words, whereas the

Keanu Reeves Research Paper
According to Mahatma Gandhi, Be the change you want to see in the world. Keanu Reeves is one of
the best well known actors, producers, and musicians in the United State. Reeves has been playing the
role of a hero, for he shares his wealth, time, and love with the world. Moreover, Reeves demonstrates
that he is a great man for making positive changes in other people s life. For me, Reeves is an
incomparable person whom I admire because he is a generous person and a role model: and, he is a
sturdy person.
When I first saw Reeves in the Matrix movies, I regarded him as an ordinary or typical actor.
However, while I was watching a video on YouTube about great and unique artists, some of the truths
about Reeves revealed itself to me. Since then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He begins with overcoming objections, such as drug and depression. Although he did not have a father
in his life while growing up, he turns out to be a father and provider for children who are in needs and
fatherless. Reeves demonstrates he is strong minded by moving forward throughout the challenges and
barriers he had to overcome. For example, he chose to make a different path in life after witnessing his
best friend die of an overdose. He also overcame depression, even though death follows him like
paparazzi in Hollywood. Reeves sister was killed by leukemia; therefore, he funds millions of dollars
to charities and hospital to help those who are diagnosed with the disease. Regardless of the Reeves
loss of his first born child and lover in a car accident, he chose to love again and helps making other
children s life better. In brief, I admire the Reeves role as a provider and giver to those in needs
despite his own life tragedies.
On the whole, I have many reasons for acknowledging Reeves as one of my most admire artists. When
I describe him as generous, model, and sturdy, I feel good because those words also resemble me. He
has motivated me, and others alike, to make positive change. Reeves moves me by playing the role I
dream of becoming. Keanu Reeves shows that one way we can make better changes in the world is by
being alive and be the best we can

Amos False God
Amos was a prophet in 800s B.C. the problems he faces was idol worship of false Gods. He lived
when King Jeroboam II. Amos wanted all people to be nice and kind that s how he shared God s word
with others. Amos told the Israelites that their country would be destroyed and that doom would fall
over them. But then the Israelites did not listen to him so they kept worshiping false gods but then the
Babylonians invaded Israel and took over.

Analysis Of To Paint A Water Lily By Ted Hughes
In To Paint a Water Lily by Ted Hughes, the poet utilizes metaphor, personification, and imagery to
display the speaker s attitudes toward nature and the artist s task. Hughes style shows that the speaker
is in awe of the landscape, and his task as an artist becomes to somehow capture the entirety of the
scene before him. To begin, the speaker uses an extended metaphor to set the scene of the poem. He
describes the water lilies as a barrier between two layers of nature. The layer of lilies roofs the pond s
chambers, while it also paves the flies arena. By dividing the scene into two layers, the speaker shows
how complex the scene before him is. The most useful literary technique that the speaker uses is
personification. In personifying

Scope of Managerial Economics
Q1. Yes. Firms represent a combination of people, physical assets, and information (financial,
technical, marketing, and so on). People directly involved include stockholders, managers, workers,
suppliers, and customers. Businesses use scarce resources that would otherwise be available for other
purposes, pay income and other taxes, provide employment opportunities, and are responsible for
much of the material well being of our society. Thus, all of society is indirectly involved in the firm s
operation. Firms exist because they are useful in the process of allocating resources producing and

Omaha s Warren E. Buffett, the billionaire head of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., also looks for companies
that have strong franchises and enjoy pricing flexibility, high ROE, high cash flow, owner oriented
management, and predictable earnings that are not natural targets of regulation. Like Price, Buffett has
profited enormously through his investments. To apply Price s and Buffett s investment criteria
successfully, business managers and investors must be sensitive to fundamental economic and
demographic trends. Perhaps the most obvious of these is the aging of the population. Health care
demands will continue to soar. In recognition of this fact, investors have bid up the shares of
companies offering prescription drugs, health care, and health care cost containment (e.g., home health
agencies). Perhaps less obvious is that an aging and increasingly wealthy population will save growing
amounts for their children s education and retirement. This bodes well for mutual fund operators,
insurance companies, and other firms that offer distinctive financial services. As the overall population
continues to enjoy growing income, spending on leisure activities is apt to grow; companies that offer
distinctive goods and services in this area will do well. Helping well heeled customers have fun has

What is a particle accelerator?
A particle accelerator is a machine that is capable of accelerating particles to very high speeds. The
types of particles that are accelerated are protons, electrons and atomic nuclei. Particle accelerates
have a Particle Source which is where the particle is before it launched. It also has a Beam Pipe which
is where the particles travel around the machine. There are also electric fields, electromagnets,
detectors and targets. (Dotson, 2015) The electric fields are spaced out and create radio waves which
accelerate particles. The electromagnets help steer and focus the beam of particles when they travel
through the beam tube. (Dotson, 2015) The detectors and targets help record data of the particles
speed and behavior at high speeds.
Are there different types currently in use?
There are many designs of particle accelerators. Listed below are the type designs for a particle
accelerator: (Holzman, 2010)
· Electrostatic Accelerators
· Oscillating Field o The Linear Accelerator o The Cyclotron o The Synchrotron
There are over 30,000 accelerators around the world, and they use the designs above. (Witman, 2015)
Electrostatic Accelerators were the first particle accelerators ever made. These designs use circle paths
to accelerate the particles expect the linear accelerator. The circle paths are used because they will take

Applications Of Photonic Circuits
2.1 Introduction
There have been extensive research in field the integrated photonics and industry in recent years.
There photonic circuits are advantageous as compared to conventional electronic circuits in a vast
range of applications.. Therefore, so much research have been done on photonic devices, such as
HCGs and photonic crystal based hollow waveguides, Bragg reflectors and their integrations with
electronic devices.
2.2 Literature Review
High index contrast gratings have been a very appealing choice over conventional DBRs in terms of
high reflection, size etc, also unlike DBRs, they provide phase and polarization control of light. The
huge mismatch between the electronic and photonic devices blocks the realization of high ... Show

So in order to increase the delay of the structure ,the input waveguide is extended with sharp bend
waveguide and the output waveguide with a smooth bend waveguide. The modified D flip flop
structure has been operated with a delay of more than two fold of the basic structure by having nearly
the same CR at the output. The simulation results as well as compact design of the proposed structure
make it suitable to be a part of photonic integrated circuit.
Takeo Katayama et al. 2016 [42] have done research on the optical coupling between a polarization
independent high index contrast grating (HCG) and two orthogonal in plane waveguides. They have
fabricated HCG with waveguides on a SOI (silicon on insulator) substrate. The proposed waveguide
coupled HCG can be used into a polarization bi stable vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL),
which would switch the output waveguide by changing the lasing polarization of the VCSEL. It has
been demonstrated that we can switch a waveguide with a strong output by changing the polarization
of light injected into the HCG. The light is more strongly coupled to the waveguide in the direction
perpendicular to the polarization of the incident light than to that in the parallel direction.
Eungtaek Kim et al. 2016 [43] have suggested functional passivation layers in the form of a
distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) which is composed of ZnS and LiF for transparent thin film

Imagery In Nadja
Nadja by Andre Breton writes about his revelation in exploration if his identity and experiences in
Paris. Specifically, he focuses on what he values about the city, the artists, writers and the woman who
he briefly had a relationship with, Nadja. Breton introduces the book with a question to himself, who
am I? Considering this, he continues to highlight the theme of haunting and ghostliness in relations
with identity. Even though the title of the book is Nadja, Breton focuses more on the ghostly identity
of the city. Therefore this essay will argue how Andre Breton uses ghostly imagery of the city, to
illustrate the past self and present self; in the hopes that he discovers the purpose of his existence.
Andre Breton is interested Paris because it drives him to question how the city influences identity;
through ghostliness and hauntological theme of the city that is highlighted in Nadja. Moreover Breton

What does the uncanny mean to Breton? In relations to how unfamiliar aspects of the city becomes
uncomfortably familiar, Breton expresses that, I am doomed to retrace my steps under the illusion that
I am exploring, doomed to try and learn what I should simply recognize, learning a mere fraction of
what I have forgotten (Breton, 12). A suggestion of something that you should identify within yourself
or in the city has been forgotten but, the sense of repetition and familiarity becomes noticed which
starts to frighten you. Furthermore Breton highlights the notion of when you are trying to find your
way in the city, exploring something new only to find yourself at the same place that you have
started. This implies that identity is constructed with a unique repetition which each individual

Neocolonialism During the Porfiriato
Necolonialism During the Porfiriato
In the early sixteenth century, Spain conquered Mexico and turned it into one of their most lucrative
colonies. In the search for land, labor and natural resources, Spain found everything they were looking
for in Mexico. During the colonial period, Mexico was simply another kingdom of the vast Spanish
Empire. As Spain largely benefited, the indigenous civilizations of Mexico were ravaged and left to be
entirely dependent on their foreign counterpart. It wasn t until the independence movement in the
early nineteenth century that Mexico seemed to have some hope of being released from the hands of
imperialism. Unfortunately, following independence, Mexico suffered from a half a century of

Although he was right, the economic boom came with severe consequences that left Mexico largely
dependent on the United States. Mexico s economy boomed during the thirty year presidency of
Porfirio Diaz, known as the Porfiriato. The majority of Mexican profits came from the export of
natural resources including mining, petroleum, and agriculture. With the development of the railway
system, these industries flourished. Before the railroads, mule transportation was too expensive; this
made only gold or silver worth the effort. Now the production of copper, zinc and lead were made
more profitable. By 1911, Mexico was the third greatest petroleum producing nation. However,, these
industries were owned by the United States. In order to finance the cost of construction for the
railroads, Diaz gave land to foreign developers. This led to the commercialization of ranching and
farming. U.S. investors benefited from the export trade of resources such as cotton, rubber, garbanzos,
fine woods and coffee. By doing so, many peasants lost their land. By the end of the nineteenth
century, the growth of railroads was incredible. In 1910, the railroad system totaled over 24,000 miles,
which was twenty four times the amount they had in 1880. Although it was a dependent economy, the
Mexican trade value grew by 900% during the Porfiriato. The landowners benefitted immensely from
the railroads that increased their property value. Furthermore, workers and city dwellers were given

Civil Rights Case Study
Throughout American history the United States Supreme Court has seen a multitude Civil Rights
cases. Criminal Rights is the branch of Civil Rights cases that will be evaluated in this paper. Criminal
Rights cases date back to the early twentieth century, and the majority of Criminal Rights cases are
over 5th, 6th and 14th Amendment rights. These cases are important to the public because anyone
could commit a crime. The people of the U.S deserve rights under any circumstances even if they are
criminals. Regarding the issue of Criminal Rights, the US Supreme Court remained mostly
conservative as to how criminals in trial should be treated. The continuing issue is examined through

The jury found Miranda guilty. The Supreme Court argued if the Fifth Amendment s protection
against self incrimination extends to the police interrogation of a suspect (Oyez). Chief Justice Earl
Warren delivered the majority opinion that the suspect must be aware that anything he says can be
used against him in a court of law and that if at any point her requests an attorney there will be no

Arizona (1963) stayed true to original court rulings. All three court cases ruled that a defendant has a
right to an attorney and must be provided one if they can not provide one on their own. The only
difference with Miranda v. Arizona (1963) is the court ruled the defendant must be read their Miranda
Rights, or their right to remain silent before interrogation with an attorney present. The addition of
Miranda Rights to establish guidelines for how detained suspects should be given their

Nuclear Waste In Australia Essay
The overarching question of, Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia? will be
answered in this outcome. Nuclear waste is material that has been used in a nuclear reactor. It looks
exactly the same on the outside, as it did when it went into the reactor (see Figure 1). Once nuclear
fission has taken place inside the reactor to make electricity, the Uranium breaks into many unstable
isotopes. These isotopes will remain radioactive for thousands of years. Hence, the need for more
nuclear waste storage facilities. A storage facility in South Australia would be geographically perfect
and hold low level (plastic), intermediate (see Figure 2) and high level waste, like spent uranium fuel
cells. The answer will be supported and derived from multiple sources, including; my survey data,
expert reports, statistics, graphs and tables.
Overall Question Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia?
According to public voting records, two thirds of South Australian citizens, are against the proposal of
a nuclear waste plant. This was similar to the results gained from the survey, since 82% of the
respondents were against. Despite these statistics, the positives of a nuclear waste plant in South
Australia, far outweigh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Labor Market Of The Labour Market
The labour market is defined as the place where employment and employee interaction take place,
otherwise known as Job Sector . In the labour market, employers and companies whether big or small
always compete to hire the best skilled, highly motivated and hard working of individuals to compete
for the best job available. (Economic, 2015). A labour market in complex terms is defined as an
economic function which supplies different level of demand and supply of labour (Webster, 2015).
E.g. labour demand is essentially the firm s demand for labour whether high or low depending on
certain factors influencing the demand whereas supply is often explained via the individual employee
s supply of labour via how much input and output they apply to the job.
My chosen field of work is going to be in the business marketing sector such as Commercial
Marketing and will be analysing the labour market within marketing and distinguish what the

Mycenaean Civilization Vs Minoan Civilization Essay
Throughout the Bronze Age, the Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations both flourished leading them to
become extremely powerful periods in history, impacting Greece today. These two civilizations have
helped shape Greece to be the country it is today because of their unique history and characteristics
that have carried on throughout time. Although not all is known about these civilizations,
Archaeologists have identified several aspects and characteristics of each civilization through years of
research and discoveries. Both of these civilizations existed several centuries before Christ. The

civilization existed from roughly 600 B.C to 1100 B.C. and was located on Greece s mainland; they
were a forceful and active civilization, who engaged in aspects of trade and some piracy throughout
Europe. The Mycenaean s were well known for their military approach and war tactics allowing them

Right Ventricle Lab Report
The function of the right ventricle (RV) is to receive the systemic venous return and to pump this
deoxygenated blood through the pulmonary arteries into the pulmonary circulation.
The RV pumps the same amount of blood as the left volume pumps, this amount equals the stroke
volume. The RV ejects blood against the pulmonary vascular resistance which is characterized by a
low impedance and a highly distensible pulmonary arteries. On the other hand, the left ventricle (LV)
ejects the blood against the systemic vascular resistance which has much higher impedance than the
pulmonary resistance. As a consequence, the RV pumps the blood with about 25% of the stroke work
performed by the LV. The RV operates under a lower pressure compared to the LV: ... Show more

A great determinant of the afterload on the RV is the pulmonary vascular resistance. The RV can be
exposed to high pressure overload states either acutely or chronically. Under acute pressure overload
states, the RV responds initially by increased contractility in order to maintain the stroke volume.
Initially, the increase in ESP is accompanied by increase in ESV and EDV which in turn stretches the
ventricular wall augmenting the contractility (Frank Starling Law). However, the RV has limited
capacity to generate higher pressure. It has been found from studies as well clinical practise that
increase in RV systolic pressure by 60% is the maximum extent by which RV can respond. Later, the
EF and SV will decrease as the mean ejection pressure increases, and this is reflected by a decrease in
COP. In addition, the RV has thin wall and the high pressure load increase the wall tension and stress.
Which leads to increase the oxygen demands causing RV ischemia. In addition, acute pressure load
leads to RV dilation which cause a decrease in LV filling and eventually a decrease in COP. Acute RV
pressure overload in adults often leads to RV dilation and failure. For example, in adults with acute
pulmonary embolism, the RV is unable to generate pressure 40 and the condition develops to RV
failure early in the presentation of acute significant pulmonary. Another example is: idiopathic

Before 1448, European had to use the Silk Road to trade with Asia. In 1453, Muslim took over

and they took over many places in Asia as their access to an easier trade system. Among these
European nations, like what they did to America, their goals and the way they achieved their
initiatives in Asia are different from one another. Portuguese was the first group that explored the way

technology. They had outgun ships and controlled the sea area. They also established bases in key
locations of the places they conquered. They created trading post empire by force. They conquered

title Battle of Battle simply did not work so they named it to the nearest large city, which was

An important part of the battle itself was what the information was gathered from. Most things known
about the Battle of Hastings was collected from the Bayeux Tapestry. The Bayeux Tapestry was not
exactly a tapestry though its name says differently, but instead it is an embroidered linen cloth that is
about 70 meters long. The Bayeux Tapestry depicts the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings,
during the battle itself, and the events thereafter starting with a scene depicting Edward the Confessor
sending Harold to Normandy and ends with the English troops fleeing the battlefield at

Disadvantages Of Using Static Analysis In The Computer...
Statistic analyze is the computer software analysis performed by not actually executing the software
that is being tested. Static analysis doesn t include dynamic execution of the software under test and
can detect potential defects in an early stage, prior to running the program. It can be achieved by a
machine to automatically walk through the source code and detect noncomplying codes. A compiler
which finds lexical, syntactic and even some semantic mistakes can be given as a classical example. It
can find weaknesses in the code at the exact location.
Static analysis can also be carried out by a person who would review the code to provide correct
coding standards and conventions are used to construct the program. This is generally called Code
Review and it is done by a peer developer, someone apart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The defect gets more expensive as long as the defect persists. One of the most crucial advantages of
static analysis is the detection of defects earlier during the process when they are easier and more cost
effective to fix. Other advantages involves removing program components that are not necessary and
ensuring that the software being analyzed is compatible with other programs that are likely to be run
concurrently.
Another advantage of using static code analysis is you can define your project specific rules, and they
will be guaranteed to follow without any manual intervention. In case any team member forgets to
follow those rules, static code analyzer will highlight them like fortify or find bugs.
As the static testing is faster and achieves 100% coverage, the unit cost of detecting these bugs by
static testing is much lower than detecting bugs by dynamic testing. If you have an urgent deadline
looming on the horizon, the part where you use dynamic testing tools can be omitted. However, tool
supported static testing should in no case be

Radish Plants Lab Report
A plant s growth ability is dependent on its ability to acquire the resources it needs to survive.
Competition such as interspecific and intraspecific, limiting resources, and population density affect
the fitness level of a plant. This experiment was conducted in order to test the capability of collards
and radishes to grow in manipulated densities under interspecific and intraspecific competition. I
hypothesized that both collard and radish plants will grow more efficiently in single species pots under
low density conditions. I also hypothesized that in the mixed species plots the radishes will be more fit
to survive and grow better than the collard plants in both the high and low density pots. Both high and
low density and single and mixed species plots were planted and results were observed. There was a

The low density radish collard mix pots contained four seeds of radishes and four seeds of collards.
The high density radish collard pots contained 32 seeds of each species. While our group replicated
this 3x2 design four times to total 24 posts, we incorporated the whole class data. Therefore, there
were 16 replicates for each treatment. For each pot, we filled soil up until about one inch from the top.
We placed the seeds in the pot and piled on around 2 or 3 cm of soil on top. In 3 species levels, seeds
were spaced as evenly as possible. In the mixed species pot, the two species were alternated so that
each one had the same access to space and nutrients at the other. For each pot, we wrote down our
section number, group name, and the contents of the pot. Our group worked at the first bench in the
greenhouse and also contained our pots that were spread out evenly in four rows. Our pots stayed in
the greenhouse for about five weeks, captured as much sunlight as they could, and got their water

Mitch Rapp In American Assassin
Imagine waking up one day eager to greet a loved one who s been away for a while only to find out
that their life was stolen by complete strangers. It could cause one to take some crazy actions; it could
even make an assassin. In the novel American Assassin the girlfriend of college lacrosse star Mitch
Rapp is killed in the Pan Am Lockerbie terrorist attack. This prompts him to put his sensational mind
and body through rigorous training to become an assassin for the United States government. With his
newfound talents Mitch travels around the world executing terrorists and criminals. This journal will

This is can be extrapolated. by this quote spoken by Mitch Rapp, You put Victor in with us, and his
job is to tempt us into making mistakes, (Flynn 135). The situation that prompted Mitch to say this
occurred during training. Victor was part of the group of trainees, but he was different from the rest.
He was always breaking the rules and trying to convince others to break the rules as well.
Furthermore, the instructors would also glance at Victor more often than they would look at the other
initiates. With just this information Mitch was able to break through Victor s guise and figure out that
he was an undercover instructor. Mitch was also able to conclude that Victor was trying to determine
who the weak trainees were. Being able to do this took an enormous amount of logical thinking and
awareness. When this information is paired with the fact that Mitch was constantly tired and underfed
from training as well as being viciously gibed at by the instructors, it is incredible how he was able to
piece together the clues to discover that Victor was undercover. Additionally not only was Rapp smart
enough to figure this out, but he was also confident enough to call out an instructor on this. Ultimately,
Mitch is able to form strong hypotheses because he is a sponge, constantly observing and absorbing
information around him ☺ (metaphor). This leads to

The Oecd Report Teachers Matter
The OECD report Teachers Matter identifies that teachers have a huge demand on them by schools to
deal effectively with different languages, different students backgrounds, to be extremely sensitive of
gender and culture, to promote tolerance and social cohesion and to respond efficiently to
disadvantaged children (OECD, 2005). Also with the presence of the number of children with SEN in
classrooms, it is very important that teachers are prepared to teach all children regardless of their
learning needs, intellectual, emotional, behavioural and social and physical capabilities (Cardona,
2009). Teachers therefore need confidence in their ability to deal with these demands and be set to
deal with them in the present school climate (De Boer et al, 2010).
Marin (2014) discusses the issue of inclusion and how important it has become in today s education
system. Her study focuses on whether teachers are generally prepared to deal with students with SEN
in mainstream schools, the advantages and disadvantages of inclusion in schools, and whether teachers
need any additional training in the field of special education to respond to the needs of SEN children.
Her report found (using a quantitative approach for her investigation) that 66.2% of teacher s from the
research had encountered students with SEN. This is a significantly high number and suggests that
teachers have to be prepared to deal with, and respond to those kid s needs, and diversity in the
classroom.

The Paternity Of Maternity Leave Essay
Lately, both mothers and fathers have been requesting more time off of work after their baby has been
born to bond and spend more time with them. Most business work places have not accepted their
request and have made the desired parent of that child to come back to work as quickly as possible,
even if that time spent with their baby is more important. Paternity/Maternity leave is important and
has a tremendous amount of impact on that child and how they will act in the future, which is why that
time after birth should be extended to a set amount of time of one year. Paternity leave is the time that
a father is allowed to be away from work after the birth of his child(Paternity Leave 1). Maternity
leave is the time when a mother is allowed to be away from work after the birth of her child. Both are
equally as important. According to Gretchen Livingston, a researcher at a University, the U.S. is the
only country among 41 nations that does not mandate any paid leave for new parents(Livingston 1).
The United States, not having an exact set time, but the average amount of weeks given to the mother
or father after their baby s birth to spend time with them is 12 weeks, which is also unpaid. Businesses
need to extend the time they give to mothers and fathers after their baby is born. One of the many
problems that comes with the average of 12 weeks of not having enough time to spend with your baby
after birth is that baby then becomes unattached to everyone and often feels

Nile River Cycle Analysis
In Egypt, the Nile River creates a rich green valley across the desert. It was by the banks of the river
that one of the oldest civilizations in the world began. The ancient Egyptians lived and farmed along
the Nile, using the soil to produce food for themselves and their animals. Document A, a map of Egypt
around 1500 BCE, was founded by multiple sources and was created in order to illustrate how the
placement of the river was beneficial to the success of cities across Egypt. The creators of this map
had no bias because the structure of the document is strictly factual. The map demonstrates the areas
that are gray represent the fertile Nile Valley. The Nile Valley is spread across lower and upper Egypt,
from cities such as Buto to Abu Simbel. It is an important document because it clarifies how the river
was able to have a strong influence on the citizens of Egypt. This indicates that there was a vast
number of people that had to depend on the Nile as a freshwater source, even for tasks included in
their daily life.
Document B, a chart of The Nile River Flood Cycle, written by Katherine Hinds was written to
explain how the different seasons of Egypt were affected by the river s flood cycle. Hinds view on the
river s flood cycle may be influenced by the fact that she will unintentionally compare ancient Egypt s
different seasons to modern times, however, this bias is not evident in the text. The seasons mentioned
were Akhet, the flood season, Peret, the planting and growing season, and Shemu, the harvest season.
Akhet took place in mid June to mid October, and in these months the fields were subjected to
flooding, due to the surrounding river, which meant farmers were provided with more labor such as
canal repair. Peret came to pass in mid October to mid February where enough time has passed for the
water to subside and supply irrigation canals, in which crops were planted and sustained until Shemu,
which took place until the cycle resumed its place in Akhet, where they were then harvested and sold
in the market. The document s intent was to express how the different seasons were useful to everyday
life long ago. It is significant because it shows how people were employed and citizens were provided

Canada Has Not Taken Responsibility for the Behavior of...
Canada, which is the headquarters of Barrick Gold Corporation, runs 60 percent of the world s mining
corporations across the globe. Notwithstanding the fact that even though it is the forerunner in this
industry, Canada has not taken the lead on mediating or taking responsibility for the behavior of their
corporations abroad. The consequence of this carelessness is, Canada has drawn criticisms from
around the world, first from the environmental, religious and human rights organizations, and now
increasingly from international institutions, such as the United Nations.

Many violent clashes have also occurred between police and activists opposing Barrick s mining
operations in Peru, Chile, and Argentina.
Subsequently, the Compliance Advisor/Ombudsman of the World Bank issued a report refuting LEAT
s claims of mass murder and the number of people displaced, based on evidence supplied by the
Tanzanian government and Barrick Gold challenged this evidence. Similarly, Barrick s North Mara
mine suffered great human rights abuses under its predecessor, Canada s Placer Dome. Lissu, who has
been jailed for anti mining activism, claims that Bar rick s security operatives at the North Mara mine
have since been linked to six violent deaths and that the killings are part of a strategy to silence mine
critics.
Most of the conflict arises over whether the local tradition of alluvial mining became illegal under
arrangements and contracts held by the Porgera gold mine. ATA claimed that no Ipili agreed to give up
traditional rights. The company has hired a 400 men security team, which it calls Asset Protection
Department, to guard the facility. Over the years, what started as a congenial arrangement has turned
into small scale armed conflict that has caused hundreds of injuries, sometimes 40 to 50 a day,

The Mexican Peso Crisis Essay
The Mexican Peso Crisis
This paper argues that the Mexican peso crisis of December 20 should have been expected and
foreseeable. In the year preceding the crisis, there were several indicators suggesting that the Mexican
economy and peso were already under extreme pressure. The economy bubble was ballooning to burst
so much so that it was simply a crisis waiting to happen.
Evidences Signaling the Crisis
1. Decreasing Current Account Deficit versus Increasing Capital Account Balance
Mexico was running an increasing current account deficit from US$7.5 billion in 1990 to US$23.4
billion in 1993. This indicates an excess of private investing over private savings. However, the

Colosio.
To counter the impact of federal fund rate increase on peso, Mexican government raised the domestic
interest rate by selling more short term government bonds. The interest rate for peso denominated
cetes rose to 15.79% in April 1994 and increased to 17.07% in July 1994. However, in the second half
of 1994, the Mexican government started to reduce the interest rate, contrary to the federal fund rate.
Also, more of dollar denominated tesobonos were issued aggressively instead of peso denominated
cetes. This was likely due to investors being more willing to hold tesobonos as they will be covered
against the risks of devaluation and also lower interest rate for tesobonos than cetes. This was an
indication that there was a loss in confidence for peso (i.e. people expected that the peso will
devaluate to a point that even the differential in interest will not be able to cover and so were
unwilling to hold on to peso denominated bonds). 4. Declining Real GDP Growth
The Mexico?s inflation rate was really not in control as promised by the Mexican government. The
Consumer Price Index was on the rise and real GDP growth has declined from 4.5% in 1990 to 0.6%
in 1993. This shows that Mexico will experience more rapid inflation than United States in the coming
year. This also means that Mexico peso will lose more value than US dollar during the year ahead.
Hence, there will be an

The Causes And Consequences Of The Great Famine
Food is the most colorful part of the day. With its gastronomic range, the possibilities are endless.
Everyone in the world depends on food, whether to experience that burst of flavor in the mouth or to
survive. But when there is a shortage of food, what is to blame? The people who eat and cultivate it?
Or factors outside their control? The Great Famine is an example of this question.
The Great Famine was caused by blight that accidently came from America and affected the potatoes
growing in Ireland and in turn, affected the Irish. This was especially hard on the Irish because in
1845, the potato was their main source of food. They had an average of 14 spuds a day so they relied

1 ½ million left Ireland in 1847 1851 for NY. Economic expansion in the US with industrial

Visual Art Reflection Papers
During the short six weeks of Art Therapy class I was surprised on all the positive things I learned in
such short period of time. We covered different modalities in Art therapy which encouraged
participants to be creative and make use of their imagination. For this intermodal Art experience paper
I created a visual art poster that expressed my current feelings and emotions. I began to look for
images that expressed my personal emotional state; I was surprised with what emerged from my visual
art poster. It illustrated visual images of stress on one side to images of success on the opposite side.
There was so much nonverbal expression in one piece of visual art, as it spoke for itself without
words. As I contemplated the poster and its messages, I moved to a second modality, in response to the
visual art poster I wrote a poem in response to the Art piece. The poem came about naturally; my
feelings flowed into words which made me feel good about the visual art poster that I had created. As
an inexperienced poetry writer I felt that my poem was not as good as an experienced poetry writer.
However I still tried it, as I began to write I began to think of what message the visual art poster
conveyed to me, including what emotions it provoked. Several questions came to mind, what were the
visual images on the poster saying about me? And why did I create such piece? Author Malchiodi

Different Types Of Cell Found Within The Human Body
Whilst they are often disregarded and thought to be simple, cells within the human body are made up
of many microscopic parts. Too small to be seen with the naked eye, each cell has their own unique
function, (Biology, 2015). In broad terms, there are two very similar types of cell found within the
human body, (Australian Government, 2015). Although the cells are alike, it is relatively easy to
differentiate between the two. Prokaryotic cells are cells that do not contain a nucleus or any other
membrane bound organelle, whereas, Eukaryotic cells are cells that do contain membrane bound
organelles, such as a nucleus. Eukaryotic cells, unlike Prokaryotic cells can be either single celled or
multi celled, (Study, 2015).
Many different types of organelles exist within the cells of the human body, (Biology, 2015). Rough
and Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Mitochondria, Vacuoles, The Nucleus, and many more can be
found within the cell. Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum, or simply Rough ER is studded with protein
builders known as Ribosomes and is used within the human body to manufacture lysosomal enzymes
and secreted proteins. Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum or Smooth ER is characterised by its lack of
Ribosomes. Its uses within the body include lipid synthesis, calcium concentration and drug
detoxification, (Biology, 2015). Mitochondria are commonly referred to as the cells powerhouse as
they provide all the necessary energy in the form of ATP that the cells need to do their

Asleep in the forest, after facing the god s wrath at sea, I finally woken at morning by cries of the

Section 74 deals with goods which fall under Category A as described above and Section 75 deals with
Category B.
In case of goods which were earlier imported on payment of duty and are later sought to be re
exported within a specified period, customs duty paid at the time of import of the goods with certain
cut can be claimed as duty drawback by the exporter at the time of export of such goods. Such duty
drawback is granted in terms of Section 74 of the Customs Act, 1962 read with Re export of Imported
Goods (Drawback of Customs Duty) Rules, 1995. For this purpose, at the time of import, the identity
particulars of the goods are recorded at the time of examination of import goods; at the time of export,
cross verification of the goods under export is done with the help of related import documents to
ascertain whether the goods under export are the very ones which were imported earlier.
Where the goods are not put into use after import, 98% of duty drawback is admissible at the
maximum under Section 74 of the Customs Act, 1962. In cases where the goods are put into use in
India after import but prior to its export, duty drawback is granted on a sliding scale basis depending
upon the extent of use of the goods. No duty drawback is available if the goods are put into use for a
period exceeding 36 months after import. Application for duty drawback is required to be made within
3 months from the date of export of goods. If the primary elements of Section 74 as

How can Philip Larkin s poetry be used to address the...
The marginal or neglected can be seen to refer to individuals, a class or nation, to ideas that have been
marginalised, to neglected forms such as poetry, and to the marginalised self. Philip Larkin is
renowned for his use of the colloquial in his poetry, and he renews the importance of everyday
language and words, that have been neglected and marginalised in forms of expression. His poems
have the tone of the ordinary day. Through this use of language, he reflects on the loss of identity and
to the neglected state of England due to modernisation and industrialisation. Poetry itself is a specialist
form; however Larkins poetry can be seen as homely and less dramatic. He brought back poetry as a

In the fourth stanza, he describes what he feels now (l.18), and the use of mass images suggests a loss
of identity. For example the plural images of the crowd, kids (ll.19 21), More houses, more parking
allowed, / More caravan sites, more pay (ll.22 3). England is becoming meaningless, having no
individual identity, where greeds / And garbage are too thick strewn (ll.51 2). The spectacled grins
(l.25) represent the blandness of businessmen as they contemplate a commercial manoeuvre without
taking account of the possible human consequences. Yet they are still mere grins, and not people.
Modern industrial images are contrasted with the images of nature, such as the M1 café (l.20) and
concrete and tyres (l.49). Industry is marginalising the countryside, neglecting it. In the third stanza he
expresses the fairly naïve belief that nature is stronger and more resilient than man and it will be able
to recover. Later in the poem however, the strength of nature, how the earth will always respond (l.14),
is trapped. The only parts that will be bricked in are the tourist parts (ll.39 40), yet the reason for the
tourism is suggested to be because we will become the first slum of Europe (l.41). The marginalisation
of the importance of the countryside is unnecessary, as the dales are

g.cm 3 and 5.02 g.cm 3 respectively. These densities were 91.38% and 93.23% of the theoretical
values (% relative densities). Percentage porosity [59] of sintered pellet specimens was found to be
8.2% and 6.8% respectively. It is observed Cu0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 sintered ceramic composed of uniformly
sized grains and is 93% relative density. The high sintered density can be attributed due to the small
degree of agglomeration and fine nature of powder. The properties of sintered ceramic materials
depend upon the sintered density and porosity of ceramic. It is well known that during sintering of
homogeneous materials, the porosity decreases and the microstructures of the material develop,
depending upon the morphology, agglomeration and sintering conditions. The Cu0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4
specimen sintered at 850oC has lower %relative density as compared to specimen sintered at 1050oC.

Waves Of Debates Within Feminism
Gender 208
Assignment 1: Waves of Debates within Feminism
Feminism, in simple terms, refers to a collective desire to end the oppression of women. Because
oppression takes various forms and affects those who are victim to it in a number of different, yet
often connected ways; feminism should accordingly be regarded as a multifaceted set of movements
working towards multiple aims and ends. Which is to say that feminism is less a single movement
concerned with the oppression of women, and more a gathering of movements concerned with a
number of oppressive structures, working towards the eradication of domination period. Analysing the
works of Mimi Mariuncci (2010), Audre Lorde (1984), and Rosemarie Garland Thomson (2002) this
paper will attempt to answer the question of why intersectionality is imperative to feminist discourse
and Praxis, exploring the different areas in which the oppression of women interests with the
oppression, marginalisation, and suppression of other minority groups, i.e. queer people, people of
colour, people with disabilities, old people, poor people, transgendered, and gender non conforming
people etc.
In the pursuit of inclusivity and intersectionality feminist discourse has been tasked with
acknowledging and addressing all forms of oppression as a logic of domination. A theory coined by
ecofeminist philosopher Karen Warren which refers to a way of understanding and communicating
with the world, and it s inhabitants, in a way that is structured

Comparison Between Roman And Modern Era
From calculating digital computations to setting the foundation of modern applications, the number
system is more relevant in life and culture than most people realize. For example, people use the
number system to organize sections and chapters from literature, keep financial affairs orderly and
neatly, and compute numerous types of everyday costs. Also, it dictates how modern applications
function and how programming languages work seamlessly. Despite these incredible
accomplishments, the world would lack all knowledge of it were it not for ancient number systems.
These systems include three of the most famous ones in the world: Roman numerals, Mayan numerals,
and Egyptian numerals. Through innovation, technology, and ingenuity, ancient ... Show more content

For example: IV = 4, IX = 9, XXXIV = 34, CIX = 109, CD = 400, and MCMIV = 1904. The key to
handling this exception is to subtract the digit ahead of the power from the numeral itself [4].
Now that the basic numbers and rules have been covered, the arithmetic for addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division can be understood. To calculate addition, one must first rewrite the
numbers to arrange them in descending order after putting them together. Next, one must learn to
ignore the subtractive system and write out individual numbers when appropriate. For example: 4 =
IIII, 9 = VIIII, 34 = XXXIIII; but 3 still equals III, 6 still equals VI, and 37 still equals XXXVII.
Third, evaluating in ascending order, one must rewrite trailing I digits into a simplified version.
Finally, any further required simplification is performed. To demonstrate this, consider two numbers in
addition, 13 + 66. The numbers are written side by side (XIII + LXVI), then put together in
descending order (LXXVIIII). The four trailing I digits are rewritten as IV, and this number is
rewritten as LXXVIV. The last three digits, the VIV, is equivalent to IX (9), so the number is rewritten
one final time as LXXIX (79).
For subtraction, one must borrow numbers by marking out common symbols in the second number.
For example, LXVIII XII (68 12) =

The Equator Principle, A Risk Management Framework...
The equator principle, a risk management framework designed and adopted for financial institutions
that requires those who are bound by this code to carefully measure, determine, and think through the
environmental and social implications of a project and make the proper procedures to ensure that
debtor it is loaning the money to exercise a pretty high standard of care before financing the said
project. The equator principle sets a minimum standard of due diligence to support responsible
decision making for these financial institutions before making a loan.
Currently, there are 80 financial institutions who have adopted the equator principle. Among these
financial institutions is the third largest bank by market capitalisation in Australia ... Show more

Phnom Penh Sugar, the sugar plantation behind these dreadful news is a company owned by
Cambodian tycoon and ruling party senator Ly Yong Phat, who with the help from ANZ Bank, has
successfully transformed 20,000 hectares of land in the once peaceful Kampong Speu province in
Cambodia, the country s most impoverished region, into the largest sugar operation in Cambodia.
These news leaves the impression to the public eye, especially the analysts, investors, and
stakeholders, that the banking giant s desire to portray itself as an ethical bank, as a bank that is a
signatory to various internationally renowned standards that are committed to social and
environmental sustainability is less than serious.
Modern times requires the need for modern managers, and these modern managers are required to
have a high sensitivity about issues concerning ethical behaviour and social responsibility due to
increasing pressure from interest groups, legal bodies, government officials, media coverage, and the
public.
A manager s level of thinking about corporate social responsibility ranges from To make a profit is the
only responsibility of a business to It is also within an organisation s responsibilities to assume
responsibility for its impact on society
Proactive responsibility is present when an organisation assumes responsibilities that go above and
beyond what its immediate responsibilities are

The hippocampus is the portion of the forebrain that in a part of the formation of long term memories.
The amygdala controls the intensity of emotional memories and is also involved in our emotional

Essay about Richard Iii + Looking for Richard Comparative...
Good morning/afternoon
Throughout my comparative study of texts and context, I have explored various connections shared
between William Shakespeare s Richard the 3rd and Al Pacino s Looking for Richard . As both of
these items are based on the same character, King Richard the 3rd, they share a lot in common. The
connection that I have chosen to concentrate on though is the idea of power, and how both texts
explore this theme.
William Shakespeare is an extremely famous English poet and playwright and widely regarded as the
greatest writer in the English language. He was most prominent in the years 1585 1592 writing 38
plays. Richard 3rd is considered to be one of his greatest plays and was written in 1591 depicting the

Richard then gloats over his success in a soliloquy stating how he has won her heart even though he is
regarded by her as the devil with dissembling looks and he stabbed Edward her love just 3 months
earlier. This highlights how he thinks of himself as the best as he brags about his misdeeds as though
he is immortal.
Al Pacinos Looking for Richard is a failed movie attempt of Richard 3rd turned documentary
produced, directed and acted in by the man himself.
This same theme of power is evident throughout Al Pacino Looking for Richard as he wants to
establish himself as the definitive American Shakespeare actor and achieve greatness. I say this
because all throughout history American actors have been too afraid to act Shakespeare as it has
traditionally been English done, but Pacino strives to prove this wrong.
All throughout looking for Richard a documentary directed by and starring Al Pacino he is made to
seem on another level to anybody else. This is highlighted by Fredrick Kimball, who is also directing
the movie says with great passion You know more about Richard the 3rd than any other fucking
scholar at Columbia or Harvard
By Kimball saying this pacino is instantly placed on a higher level than

The Necessity to Swap Ethnic Profiling for Behavioral...
Humanity has always strived to become more civilized . Whether it was the manipulation of fire, the
domestication of animals, the invention of electricity or the exploration of space, the goal has always
been to become more advanced than our predecessors. We think of civilization as the opposite of
brutality and we associate the former with peace and the latter with violence. For this reason, we are
unable to deem a race that has walked on the moon as a violent race. However, civilization doesn t
abolish violence it simply removes the individual s right to be violent and bestows it into the hands of
a separate entity (like the military). (Lancaster)
Historically, civilization has demonstrated the greatest degree of violence ... Show more content on

For this reason, ethnic profiling should carry less weight in the decision making of law enforcement
agents and in the realm of criminal justice. In turn, the criminal justice system should promote the use
behavioral profiling, a more effective alternative with a lesser rate of wrongful arrests.
There is no scientific proof that links crime and race. In fact, most psychologists admit that ethnic
profiling is not scientifically reliable. (Boylan) Nevertheless, no one has attempted to eradicate it until
recently. This is because America s imprisonment rates were not rising at an alarming rate until a
couple of decades ago. Now that hyper incarceration is a problem experts have begun searching for its
root, and ethnic profiling has surfaced as a probable cause of hyper incarceration. When you analyses
the inner workings of racial profiling you find a direct correlation between the impact of ethnic
profiling and the anxiety levels of the population. In other words, as people become more scared the
likelihood that they will perform or tolerate racial profiling increases.
Fear and violence go hand in hand, and the 50 s and 60 s left America trembling with fear. During this
period we observed the height of the Cold War and the Civil Rights Movement. Apparently, the threat
of communism and the empowerment of blacks turned out to be a poor combination

  • 2. Designing A Mathematical Model For Interpersonal... Personally speaking, I think the definition of hobbies is that someone prefers do so than go to sleep at night. In that case, I listed my hobbies as below. One of them is doing math problems. It is a pleasure for me to solve those intriguing problems. Every time I solve a problem that was challenging to me, I feel very happy for the self achievement. Even if it occurs at a deep night, I will get refreshed by the ecstasy. I was only four when I first tasted the sweetness of math. At the high school, this interest has extended to the enjoyment of modeling, because constructing a model is arduous too, whereas a good result brings really a lot of happiness at the end. Much related to modeling, my research problem in 2015 is to construct a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With programming skills, I finished a number of projects, whose success facilitated me to continue on my work. For instance, I celebrated my ten year old birthday party by successfully constructing a program that could either produce or solve sudoku puzzles. On that day, the program gave me a puzzle, and solved the puzzle itself. I considered this gift as more memorable than any other one. In my high school, I made a software that helps us reciting English vocabularies by a technique similar to flashcards. The advantage in efficiency makes it better than the latter. The software, for example, supports data importing while flashcards do not. In addition to the improvement of manual efficiency, the software expressed a strong enhancement of the users speed of reciting words, aka., the effectiveness. It was based on the forgetting curve proposed by Hermann Ebbinghaus, which quantifies the interval between each repetition of memorizing process. I made a little adjustment to the values, and set them as the time intervals between the repetitive appearances of a word. In this sense, the word repeats again and again, and deepens the memorization every time. The memorization becomes very deep using this strategy. I made a comparison between the efficiency of reciting vocabularies using the traditional methodology and using this program. The result was that both in one hour, the traditional way could only make me fully recall approximately 120 words, whereas the program ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Keanu Reeves Research Paper According to Mahatma Gandhi, Be the change you want to see in the world. Keanu Reeves is one of the best well known actors, producers, and musicians in the United State. Reeves has been playing the role of a hero, for he shares his wealth, time, and love with the world. Moreover, Reeves demonstrates that he is a great man for making positive changes in other people s life. For me, Reeves is an incomparable person whom I admire because he is a generous person and a role model: and, he is a sturdy person. When I first saw Reeves in the Matrix movies, I regarded him as an ordinary or typical actor. However, while I was watching a video on YouTube about great and unique artists, some of the truths about Reeves revealed itself to me. Since then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He begins with overcoming objections, such as drug and depression. Although he did not have a father in his life while growing up, he turns out to be a father and provider for children who are in needs and fatherless. Reeves demonstrates he is strong minded by moving forward throughout the challenges and barriers he had to overcome. For example, he chose to make a different path in life after witnessing his best friend die of an overdose. He also overcame depression, even though death follows him like paparazzi in Hollywood. Reeves sister was killed by leukemia; therefore, he funds millions of dollars to charities and hospital to help those who are diagnosed with the disease. Regardless of the Reeves loss of his first born child and lover in a car accident, he chose to love again and helps making other children s life better. In brief, I admire the Reeves role as a provider and giver to those in needs despite his own life tragedies. On the whole, I have many reasons for acknowledging Reeves as one of my most admire artists. When I describe him as generous, model, and sturdy, I feel good because those words also resemble me. He has motivated me, and others alike, to make positive change. Reeves moves me by playing the role I dream of becoming. • 5. Analysis Of To Paint A Water Lily By Ted Hughes In To Paint a Water Lily by Ted Hughes, the poet utilizes metaphor, personification, and imagery to display the speaker s attitudes toward nature and the artist s task. Hughes style shows that the speaker is in awe of the landscape, and his task as an artist becomes to somehow capture the entirety of the scene before him. To begin, the speaker uses an extended metaphor to set the scene of the poem. He describes the water lilies as a barrier between two layers of nature. The layer of lilies roofs the pond s chambers, while it also paves the flies arena. By dividing the scene into two layers, the speaker shows how complex the scene before him is. The most useful literary technique that the speaker uses is personification. In personifying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People directly involved include stockholders, managers, workers, suppliers, and customers. To apply Price s and Buffett s investment criteria successfully, business managers and investors must be sensitive to fundamental economic and demographic trends. Perhaps the most obvious of these is the aging of the population. Health care demands will continue to soar. In recognition of this fact, investors have bid up the shares of companies offering prescription drugs, health care, and health care cost containment (e.g., home health agencies). Perhaps less obvious is that an aging and increasingly wealthy population will save growing amounts for their children s education and retirement. This bodes well for mutual fund operators, insurance companies, and other firms that offer distinctive financial services. As the overall population continues to enjoy growing income, spending on leisure activities is apt to grow; companies that offer distinctive goods and services in this area will do well. • 7. Assignment On Particle Accelerators SPH4U0 Fields Assignment: Particle Accelerators Physics Nithash Rajendram 12/1/2017 What is a particle accelerator? A particle accelerator is a machine that is capable of accelerating particles to very high speeds. The types of particles that are accelerated are protons, electrons and atomic nuclei. Particle accelerates have a Particle Source which is where the particle is before it launched. It also has a Beam Pipe which is where the particles travel around the machine. There are also electric fields, electromagnets, detectors and targets. (Dotson, 2015) The electric fields are spaced out and create radio waves which accelerate particles. The electromagnets help steer and focus the beam of particles when they travel through the beam tube. (Dotson, 2015) The detectors and targets help record data of the particles speed and behavior at high speeds. Are there different types currently in use? There are many designs of particle accelerators. Listed below are the type designs for a particle accelerator: (Holzman, 2010) · Electrostatic Accelerators · Oscillating Field o The Linear Accelerator o The Cyclotron o The Synchrotron There are over 30,000 accelerators around the world, and they use the designs above. (Witman, 2015) Electrostatic Accelerators were the first particle accelerators ever made. These designs use circle paths to accelerate the particles expect the linear accelerator. There photonic circuits are advantageous as compared to conventional electronic circuits in a vast range of applications.. Therefore, so much research have been done on photonic devices, such as HCGs and photonic crystal based hollow waveguides, Bragg reflectors and their integrations with electronic devices. 2.2 Literature Review High index contrast gratings have been a very appealing choice over conventional DBRs in terms of high reflection, size etc, also unlike DBRs, they provide phase and polarization control of light. So in order to increase the delay of the structure ,the input waveguide is extended with sharp bend waveguide and the output waveguide with a smooth bend waveguide. The modified D flip flop structure has been operated with a delay of more than two fold of the basic structure by having nearly the same CR at the output. The simulation results as well as compact design of the proposed structure make it suitable to be a part of photonic integrated circuit. Takeo Katayama et al. 2016 [42] have done research on the optical coupling between a polarization independent high index contrast grating (HCG) and two orthogonal in plane waveguides. They have fabricated HCG with waveguides on a SOI (silicon on insulator) substrate. The proposed waveguide coupled HCG can be used into a polarization bi stable vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL), which would switch the output waveguide by changing the lasing polarization of the VCSEL. It has been demonstrated that we can switch a waveguide with a strong output by changing the polarization of light injected into the HCG. The light is more strongly coupled to the waveguide in the direction perpendicular to the polarization of the incident light than to that in the parallel direction. • 9. Imagery In Nadja Nadja by Andre Breton writes about his revelation in exploration if his identity and experiences in Paris. Specifically, he focuses on what he values about the city, the artists, writers and the woman who he briefly had a relationship with, Nadja. Breton introduces the book with a question to himself, who am I? Considering this, he continues to highlight the theme of haunting and ghostliness in relations with identity. Even though the title of the book is Nadja, Breton focuses more on the ghostly identity of the city. Therefore this essay will argue how Andre Breton uses ghostly imagery of the city, to illustrate the past self and present self; in the hopes that he discovers the purpose of his existence. A suggestion of something that you should identify within yourself or in the city has been forgotten but, the sense of repetition and familiarity becomes noticed which starts to frighten you. In the search for land, labor and natural resources, Spain found everything they were looking for in Mexico. During the colonial period, Mexico was simply another kingdom of the vast Spanish Empire. As Spain largely benefited, the indigenous civilizations of Mexico were ravaged and left to be entirely dependent on their foreign counterpart. Although he was right, the economic boom came with severe consequences that left Mexico largely dependent on the United States. Mexico s economy boomed during the thirty year presidency of Porfirio Diaz, known as the Porfiriato. The majority of Mexican profits came from the export of natural resources including mining, petroleum, and agriculture. With the development of the railway system, these industries flourished. Before the railroads, mule transportation was too expensive; this made only gold or silver worth the effort. Now the production of copper, zinc and lead were made more profitable. By 1911, Mexico was the third greatest petroleum producing nation. However,, these industries were owned by the United States. In order to finance the cost of construction for the railroads, Diaz gave land to foreign developers. This led to the commercialization of ranching and farming. U.S. investors benefited from the export trade of resources such as cotton, rubber, garbanzos, fine woods and coffee. By doing so, many peasants lost their land. By the end of the nineteenth century, the growth of railroads was incredible. In 1910, the railroad system totaled over 24,000 miles, which was twenty four times the amount they had in 1880. Although it was a dependent economy, the Mexican trade value grew by 900% during the Porfiriato. The landowners benefitted immensely from the railroads that increased their property value. These cases are important to the public because anyone could commit a crime. The people of the U.S deserve rights under any circumstances even if they are criminals. The Supreme Court argued if the Fifth Amendment s protection against self incrimination extends to the police interrogation of a suspect (Oyez). Chief Justice Earl Warren delivered the majority opinion that the suspect must be aware that anything he says can be used against him in a court of law and that if at any point her requests an attorney there will be no further questioning until the attorney arrives (Oyez). In comparison to the precedent cases Miranda v. Arizona (1963) stayed true to original court rulings. All three court cases ruled that a defendant has a right to an attorney and must be provided one if they can not provide one on their own. The only difference with Miranda v. Nuclear waste is material that has been used in a nuclear reactor. It looks exactly the same on the outside, as it did when it went into the reactor (see Figure 1). Once nuclear fission has taken place inside the reactor to make electricity, the Uranium breaks into many unstable isotopes. These isotopes will remain radioactive for thousands of years. Hence, the need for more nuclear waste storage facilities. A storage facility in South Australia would be geographically perfect and hold low level (plastic), intermediate (see Figure 2) and high level waste, like spent uranium fuel cells. The answer will be supported and derived from multiple sources, including; my survey data, expert reports, statistics, graphs and tables. Overall Question Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia? According to public voting records, two thirds of South Australian citizens, are against the proposal of a nuclear waste plant. In the labour market, employers and companies whether big or small always compete to hire the best skilled, highly motivated and hard working of individuals to compete for the best job available. (Economic, 2015). A labour market in complex terms is defined as an economic function which supplies different level of demand and supply of labour (Webster, 2015). E.g. labour demand is essentially the firm s demand for labour whether high or low depending on certain factors influencing the demand whereas supply is often explained via the individual employee s supply of labour via how much input and output they apply to the job. Right Ventricle Lab Report The function of the right ventricle (RV) is to receive the systemic venous return and to pump this deoxygenated blood through the pulmonary arteries into the pulmonary circulation. The RV pumps the same amount of blood as the left volume pumps, this amount equals the stroke volume. The RV ejects blood against the pulmonary vascular resistance which is characterized by a low impedance and a highly distensible pulmonary arteries. On the other hand, the left ventricle (LV) ejects the blood against the systemic vascular resistance which has much higher impedance than the pulmonary resistance. As a consequence, the RV pumps the blood with about 25% of the stroke work performed by the LV. The RV operates under a lower pressure compared to the LV: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A great determinant of the afterload on the RV is the pulmonary vascular resistance. The RV can be exposed to high pressure overload states either acutely or chronically. Under acute pressure overload states, the RV responds initially by increased contractility in order to maintain the stroke volume. Initially, the increase in ESP is accompanied by increase in ESV and EDV which in turn stretches the ventricular wall augmenting the contractility (Frank Starling Law). However, the RV has limited capacity to generate higher pressure. It has been found from studies as well clinical practise that increase in RV systolic pressure by 60% is the maximum extent by which RV can respond. Later, the EF and SV will decrease as the mean ejection pressure increases, and this is reflected by a decrease in COP. In addition, the RV has thin wall and the high pressure load increase the wall tension and stress. Which leads to increase the oxygen demands causing RV ischemia. In addition, acute pressure load leads to RV dilation which cause a decrease in LV filling and eventually a decrease in COP. Acute RV pressure overload in adults often leads to RV dilation and failure. Static analysis doesn t include dynamic execution of the software under test and can detect potential defects in an early stage, prior to running the program. A compiler which finds lexical, syntactic and even some semantic mistakes can be given as a classical example. It can find weaknesses in the code at the exact location. Another advantage of using static code analysis is you can define your project specific rules, and they will be guaranteed to follow without any manual intervention. In case any team member forgets to follow those rules, static code analyzer will highlight them like fortify or find bugs. As the static testing is faster and achieves 100% coverage, the unit cost of detecting these bugs by static testing is much lower than detecting bugs by dynamic testing. The Oecd Report Teachers Matter The OECD report Teachers Matter identifies that teachers have a huge demand on them by schools to deal effectively with different languages, different students backgrounds, to be extremely sensitive of gender and culture, to promote tolerance and social cohesion and to respond efficiently to disadvantaged children (OECD, 2005). Also with the presence of the number of children with SEN in classrooms, it is very important that teachers are prepared to teach all children regardless of their learning needs, intellectual, emotional, behavioural and social and physical capabilities (Cardona, 2009). Teachers therefore need confidence in their ability to deal with these demands and be set to deal with them in the present school climate (De Boer et al, 2010). Marin (2014) discusses the issue of inclusion and how important it has become in today s education system. Her study focuses on whether teachers are generally prepared to deal with students with SEN in mainstream schools, the advantages and disadvantages of inclusion in schools, and whether teachers need any additional training in the field of special education to respond to the needs of SEN children. Her report found (using a quantitative approach for her investigation) that 66.2% of teacher s from the research had encountered students with SEN. This is a significantly high number and suggests that teachers have to be prepared to deal with, and respond to those kid s needs, and diversity in the classroom. For the purpose ... Most business work places have not accepted their request and have made the desired parent of that child to come back to work as quickly as possible, even if that time spent with their baby is more important. Paternity/Maternity leave is important and has a tremendous amount of impact on that child and how they will act in the future, which is why that time after birth should be extended to a set amount of time of one year. Paternity leave is the time that a father is allowed to be away from work after the birth of his child(Paternity Leave 1). Maternity leave is the time when a mother is allowed to be away from work after the birth of her child. Both are equally as important. • 28. Nile River Cycle Analysis In Egypt, the Nile River creates a rich green valley across the desert. It was by the banks of the river that one of the oldest civilizations in the world began. The ancient Egyptians lived and farmed along the Nile, using the soil to produce food for themselves and their animals. Document A, a map of Egypt around 1500 BCE, was founded by multiple sources and was created in order to illustrate how the placement of the river was beneficial to the success of cities across Egypt. The creators of this map had no bias because the structure of the document is strictly factual. The map demonstrates the areas that are gray represent the fertile Nile Valley. The Nile Valley is spread across lower and upper Egypt, from cities such as Buto to Abu Simbel. It is an important document because it clarifies how the river was able to have a strong influence on the citizens of Egypt. This indicates that there was a vast number of people that had to depend on the Nile as a freshwater source, even for tasks included in their daily life. Document B, a chart of The Nile River Flood Cycle, written by Katherine Hinds was written to explain how the different seasons of Egypt were affected by the river s flood cycle. Hinds view on the river s flood cycle may be influenced by the fact that she will unintentionally compare ancient Egypt s different seasons to modern times, however, this bias is not evident in the text. The seasons mentioned were Akhet, the flood season, Peret, the planting and growing season, and Shemu, the harvest season. Akhet took place in mid June to mid October, and in these months the fields were subjected to flooding, due to the surrounding river, which meant farmers were provided with more labor such as canal repair. Peret came to pass in mid October to mid February where enough time has passed for the water to subside and supply irrigation canals, in which crops were planted and sustained until Shemu, which took place until the cycle resumed its place in Akhet, where they were then harvested and sold in the market. The document s intent was to express how the different seasons were useful to everyday life long ago. It is significant because it shows how people were employed and citizens were provided with ... In the year preceding the crisis, there were several indicators suggesting that the Mexican economy and peso were already under extreme pressure. Decreasing Current Account Deficit versus Increasing Capital Account Balance Mexico was running an increasing current account deficit from US$7.5 billion in 1990 to US$23.4 billion in 1993. To counter the impact of federal fund rate increase on peso, Mexican government raised the domestic interest rate by selling more short term government bonds. The interest rate for peso denominated cetes rose to 15.79% in April 1994 and increased to 17.07% in July 1994. However, in the second half of 1994, the Mexican government started to reduce the interest rate, contrary to the federal fund rate. Also, more of dollar denominated tesobonos were issued aggressively instead of peso denominated cetes. This was likely due to investors being more willing to hold tesobonos as they will be covered against the risks of devaluation and also lower interest rate for tesobonos than cetes. This was an indication that there was a loss in confidence for peso (i.e. people expected that the peso will devaluate to a point that even the differential in interest will not be able to cover and so were unwilling to hold on to peso denominated bonds). 4. Declining Real GDP Growth The Mexico?s inflation rate was really not in control as promised by the Mexican government. The Consumer Price Index was on the rise and real GDP growth has declined from 4.5% in 1990 to 0.6% in 1993. Too small to be seen with the naked eye, each cell has their own unique function, (Biology, 2015). In broad terms, there are two very similar types of cell found within the human body, (Australian Government, 2015). Although the cells are alike, it is relatively easy to differentiate between the two. Prokaryotic cells are cells that do not contain a nucleus or any other membrane bound organelle, whereas, Eukaryotic cells are cells that do contain membrane bound organelles, such as a nucleus. Eukaryotic cells, unlike Prokaryotic cells can be either single celled or multi celled, (Study, 2015). Many different types of organelles exist within the cells of the human body, (Biology, 2015). Rough and Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Mitochondria, Vacuoles, The Nucleus, and many more can be found within the cell. Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum, or simply Rough ER is studded with protein builders known as Ribosomes and is used within the human body to manufacture lysosomal enzymes and secreted proteins. Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum or Smooth ER is characterised by its lack of Ribosomes. Its uses within the body include lipid synthesis, calcium concentration and drug detoxification, (Biology, 2015). I sat there in my bed leaves, wondering about the source of the cry, intrigued by the cry. I pondered if the people here were hospitable or hostile, and surely, if I could survive the sea, I could survive an attack, but my body is sore and covered in brine, for who would not turn away at the sight of a shabby man? Yet, I knew the more I waited around contemplating about these inhabitants, they would leave, so I stood up and prowled into the bushes, using an olive branch to cover my manhood, making my way out of the bushes. Beautiful, young women. Their skin soft and delicate, eyes like goddesses with captivating faces, sadly, this pretty sight did not last long. All the women dashed away from me, scrambling away. I wonder if they hid in fear or disgust, or perhaps both. One young woman though, she stood there with a brave stance, unwilling to run from me. Section 74 deals with goods which fall under Category A as described above and Section 75 deals with Category B. In case of goods which were earlier imported on payment of duty and are later sought to be re exported within a specified period, customs duty paid at the time of import of the goods with certain cut can be claimed as duty drawback by the exporter at the time of export of such goods. Such duty drawback is granted in terms of Section 74 of the Customs Act, 1962 read with Re export of Imported Goods (Drawback of Customs Duty) Rules, 1995. For this purpose, at the time of import, the identity particulars of the goods are recorded at the time of examination of import goods; at the time of export, cross verification of the goods under export is done with the help of related import documents to ascertain whether the goods under export are the very ones which were imported earlier. Where the goods are not put into use after import, 98% of duty drawback is admissible at the maximum under Section 74 of the Customs Act, 1962. In cases where the goods are put into use in India after import but prior to its export, duty drawback is granted on a sliding scale basis depending upon the extent of use of the goods. The marginal or neglected can be seen to refer to individuals, a class or nation, to ideas that have been marginalised, to neglected forms such as poetry, and to the marginalised self. Philip Larkin is renowned for his use of the colloquial in his poetry, and he renews the importance of everyday language and words, that have been neglected and marginalised in forms of expression. His poems have the tone of the ordinary day. Through this use of language, he reflects on the loss of identity and to the neglected state of England due to modernisation and industrialisation. Poetry itself is a specialist form; however Larkins poetry can be seen as homely and less dramatic. He brought back poetry as a relevant and accessible medium, as it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the fourth stanza, he describes what he feels now (l.18), and the use of mass images suggests a loss of identity. For example the plural images of the crowd, kids (ll.19 21), More houses, more parking allowed, / More caravan sites, more pay (ll.22 3). England is becoming meaningless, having no individual identity, where greeds / And garbage are too thick strewn (ll.51 2). The spectacled grins (l.25) represent the blandness of businessmen as they contemplate a commercial manoeuvre without taking account of the possible human consequences. Yet they are still mere grins, and not people. Modern industrial images are contrasted with the images of nature, such as the M1 café (l.20) and concrete and tyres (l.49). Industry is marginalising the countryside, neglecting it. In the third stanza he expresses the fairly naïve belief that nature is stronger and more resilient than man and it will be able to recover. Later in the poem however, the strength of nature, how the earth will always respond (l.14), is trapped. The only parts that will be bricked in are the tourist parts (ll.39 40), yet the reason for the tourism is suggested to be because we will become the first slum of Europe (l.41). The marginalisation of the importance of the countryside is unnecessary, as the dales are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The measured theoretical density (ρth) was found to be 5.3844g.cm 3. The apparent density of pellet specimens sintered at 850oC and 1050oC was measured by using Ultrapycnometer 1000 which was varified by Archimedes buoyancy Principle and was found to be 4.8 g.cm 3 and 5.02 g.cm 3 respectively. These densities were 91.38% and 93.23% of the theoretical values (% relative densities). Percentage porosity [59] of sintered pellet specimens was found to be 8.2% and 6.8% respectively. It is observed Cu0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 sintered ceramic composed of uniformly sized grains and is 93% relative density. The high sintered density can be attributed due to the small degree of agglomeration and fine nature of powder. The properties of sintered ceramic materials depend upon the sintered density and porosity of ceramic. It is well known that during sintering of homogeneous materials, the porosity decreases and the microstructures of the material develop, depending upon the morphology, agglomeration and sintering conditions. The Cu0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 specimen sintered at 850oC has lower %relative density as compared to specimen sintered at 1050oC. • 39. Waves Of Debates Within Feminism Gender 208 Assignment 1: Waves of Debates within Feminism Feminism, in simple terms, refers to a collective desire to end the oppression of women. Because oppression takes various forms and affects those who are victim to it in a number of different, yet often connected ways; feminism should accordingly be regarded as a multifaceted set of movements working towards multiple aims and ends. Which is to say that feminism is less a single movement concerned with the oppression of women, and more a gathering of movements concerned with a number of oppressive structures, working towards the eradication of domination period. Analysing the works of Mimi Mariuncci (2010), Audre Lorde (1984), and Rosemarie Garland Thomson (2002) this paper will attempt to answer the question of why intersectionality is imperative to feminist discourse and Praxis, exploring the different areas in which the oppression of women interests with the oppression, marginalisation, and suppression of other minority groups, i.e. queer people, people of colour, people with disabilities, old people, poor people, transgendered, and gender non conforming people etc. In the pursuit of inclusivity and intersectionality feminist discourse has been tasked with acknowledging and addressing all forms of oppression as a logic of domination. A theory coined by ecofeminist philosopher Karen Warren which refers to a way of understanding and communicating with the world, and it s inhabitants, in a way that is structured ... • 40. Comparison Between Roman And Modern Era From calculating digital computations to setting the foundation of modern applications, the number system is more relevant in life and culture than most people realize. For example, people use the number system to organize sections and chapters from literature, keep financial affairs orderly and neatly, and compute numerous types of everyday costs. Also, it dictates how modern applications function and how programming languages work seamlessly. Despite these incredible accomplishments, the world would lack all knowledge of it were it not for ancient number systems. These systems include three of the most famous ones in the world: Roman numerals, Mayan numerals, and Egyptian numerals. Through innovation, technology, and ingenuity, ancient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example: IV = 4, IX = 9, XXXIV = 34, CIX = 109, CD = 400, and MCMIV = 1904. The key to handling this exception is to subtract the digit ahead of the power from the numeral itself [4]. Now that the basic numbers and rules have been covered, the arithmetic for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division can be understood. To calculate addition, one must first rewrite the numbers to arrange them in descending order after putting them together. Next, one must learn to ignore the subtractive system and write out individual numbers when appropriate. For example: 4 = IIII, 9 = VIIII, 34 = XXXIIII; but 3 still equals III, 6 still equals VI, and 37 still equals XXXVII. Third, evaluating in ascending order, one must rewrite trailing I digits into a simplified version. Finally, any further required simplification is performed. To demonstrate this, consider two numbers in addition, 13 + 66. The numbers are written side by side (XIII + LXVI), then put together in descending order (LXXVIIII). The four trailing I digits are rewritten as IV, and this number is rewritten as LXXVIV. The last three digits, the VIV, is equivalent to IX (9), so the number is rewritten one final time as LXXIX (79). For subtraction, one must borrow numbers by marking out common symbols in the second number. For example, LXVIII XII (68 12) = ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Good morning/afternoon Throughout my comparative study of texts and context, I have explored various connections shared between William Shakespeare s Richard the 3rd and Al Pacino s Looking for Richard . As both of these items are based on the same character, King Richard the 3rd, they share a lot in common. The connection that I have chosen to concentrate on though is the idea of power, and how both texts explore this theme. William Shakespeare is an extremely famous English poet and playwright and widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. He was most prominent in the years 1585 1592 writing 38 plays. Richard 3rd is considered to be one of his greatest plays and was written in 1591 depicting the ... Al Pacinos Looking for Richard is a failed movie attempt of Richard 3rd turned documentary produced, directed and acted in by the man himself. This same theme of power is evident throughout Al Pacino Looking for Richard as he wants to establish himself as the definitive American Shakespeare actor and achieve greatness. I say this because all throughout history American actors have been too afraid to act Shakespeare as it has traditionally been English done, but Pacino strives to prove this wrong. All throughout looking for Richard a documentary directed by and starring Al Pacino he is made to seem on another level to anybody else. Whether it was the manipulation of fire, the domestication of animals, the invention of electricity or the exploration of space, the goal has always been to become more advanced than our predecessors. We think of civilization as the opposite of brutality and we associate the former with peace and the latter with violence. For this reason, we are unable to deem a race that has walked on the moon as a violent race. However, civilization doesn t abolish violence it simply removes the individual s right to be violent and bestows it into the hands of a separate entity (like the military). In turn, the criminal justice system should promote the use behavioral profiling, a more effective alternative with a lesser rate of wrongful arrests. There is no scientific proof that links crime and race. In fact, most psychologists admit that ethnic profiling is not scientifically reliable. (Boylan) Nevertheless, no one has attempted to eradicate it until recently. This is because America s imprisonment rates were not rising at an alarming rate until a couple of decades ago. Now that hyper incarceration is a problem experts have begun searching for its root, and ethnic profiling has surfaced as a probable cause of hyper incarceration. When you analyses the inner workings of racial profiling you find a direct correlation between the impact of ethnic profiling and the anxiety levels of the population. In other words, as people become more scared the likelihood that they will perform or tolerate racial profiling increases.
