Cod Chapter Summary
I chose the book Cod: A Biography of the Fish That Changed the World. As the title suggests, and the
author, Mark Kurlansky, explores, a simple fish, more specifically, cod, has an importance that has
been proven throughout history. The prologue is set in Petty Harbour, a town in Newfoundland and
tells a story of three experienced fishermen, Sam, Leonard, and Bernard. They are participating in the
Sentinel Fishery which was an attempt to help scientists and fishermen work together to measure the
supply of cod. Their boat was to catch as many cod as they could and measure and tag them. A second
boat was to catch exactly 100 cod and open them to identify their age and sex. For three men who
fishing was their life hobby, you would think this would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As outlined in this assignment, a hazard is defined as an object, condition, or process that threatens
individuals and society in terms of production or reproduction. I would like to suggest that the process
of overfishing is a hazard that this book unfolds throughout history. Overfishing is simply when cod
are caught at a faster rate than they can naturally reproduce. The author suggests that man is part of the
natural world and the two can t separate themselves, and in this case the activity of overfishing is
driven by man. Cod provided a source of protein and a financial stability to many nations. As
populations increased, the demand for cod increased, and consequently the industry became
competitive in nature. Because of this, fishing for the Atlantic cod became commercialized, and
although nations modernized at different speeds, the goal for all was to catch more. As early as 1815,
the French used the technique of longlining. Although it was expensive because of the amount of bait
that was used, it was the first advancement from handlining and allowed for numerous fish to be
caught at once. From there, bottom dragging became popular and although it was an effective method
of catching a lot of cod at once, it was also damaging to other fish that got caught in the net. In
addition to improved techniques, curing methods advanced and freezing methods were developed.
Technology advancements included the chronometer and telegraph which both improved navigation,
and sonors and spotter aircraft aided in spotting cod schools. Fishing boats advanced from oars and
sails to steam powered to motorships. All of these advancements aided in the overfishing, and
consequently became a hazard. Scientists argue that you can t predict nature and there is no way to tell
if and when, as well as, how long it will take to replenish the codstock. For this reason, I suggest
overfishing to be a hazard. The depletion of cod has

Small Town Living In Our Town
The play Our Town, illustrates the true essence of small town living. When living in a small town,
people see a familiar face wherever they go and know the history and character behind these
individuals. Life in a small town can lack options for entertainment at times; some may even
categorize it as dull . Yet, anyone can see that Grover s Corners, the town written about in Our Town,
and Colby, Kansas contain a life full of personality and charm. The citizens of Grover s Corners live a
basic life throughout the majority of the play. The play portrays daily life, love and marriage, and how
delicate life can amount to. The life lived today in Colby compared with Grover s Corners depicts
several similarities as well as differences. Each person in the small town lives a simple life that meets
their basic needs: working, their political philosophy and their religious affiliation. In Act I, the Lady
in a Box quizzes Mr. Webb about the culture of the community. The playwright expresses this through
Mr. Webb saying, Well, ma am, there ain t much not in the sense you mean (Wilder 17). This means
the townspeople don t attend elaborate concerts, but enjoy simple pleasures such as the playing of a
piano at local events. In our town, very rarely do big promoted concerts choose Colby as their venue,
but citizens get to enjoy a lot of local talent. The population of Grover s Corners consists of 3,149
people compared to Colby which has around 5,418 people. Furthermore, the

A Tourist Attraction
November 16 was a six country day. Several Miguel and I flew over, others we landed in. After
leaving Tapachula, Mexico, we over flew Guatemala and made a fuel stop in El Salvador. We over
flew Honduras and Nicaragua, eventually landing in Liberia, Costa Rica. The time spent over
Guatamala turned out to be particularly memorable. The G in Guatemala must stand for green. From
the cockpit, my eyes could discern every imaginable shade of green and no other hues. I had the
impression farmers cultivated every available square inch of arable land. Miguel and I were able to
observe Volcán de Fuego ( Volcano of Fire ) on that rare day when neither smoke spewed from it nor
clouds floated over it, an impressive sight. With ease, I grasped ... Show more content on

Prior to arriving at the airport, in my mind, El Salvador always conjured up Iran Contra and the 1980 s
Miami Vice type images of guerillas blowing up buildings. Fortunately, my perceptions turned out to
be totally erroneous and our experience, while time consuming, was quite enjoyable. While talking to
one of the workers at the airport, I commented on how outstanding the facilities were, not a difficult
comment to express with total sincerity as the airport was beautiful and the facilities were significantly
in excess of adequate. He spoke English fluently and his uncensored, genial response was, Do you see
how good it can be when you guys (Americans) don t mess around with us? I heard comparable
sentiments expressed numerous times throughout the trip. Miguel and I were now south of the airports
along the border between the United States and Mexico and that made a world of difference. XXXXX
This was the first time we landed at an airport which didn t routinely service private, non commercial
airplanes flying to or from the United States. As Comalapa was an international airport and our plane
was extraordinarily diminutive compared to commercial airliners, controllers directed us to park off to
the side of the terminal. Parked there, our plane wouldn t interfere with the international airlines
transiting the jetway while Miguel and I were at customs.

The Church Of A Catholic Church
There is a story told about a congregation in a small Catholic Church located in a mid western state.
One Sunday morning the mass began when the wooden door of the church opened with a loud creak.
All the parishioners turned their head to see a young man not a member of the church enter.
His hair was long and stringy......he wore shorts....with a short sleeved pull over T shirt.
He had multiple tattoos on his arms and legs.....and...looked rough and unkempt.
His presence in the church caused distraction and tension....and really interrupted the mass.
He walked slowly down the center aisle looking for a place to sit but no one would move over to make
room for him in the pew.
He completed his walk not finding a place to sit, so he sat down on the floor at the foot of the
sanctuary.
The upright parishioners were shocked and wondered why someone didn t do something...for this
person should be dealt with immediately.
Then the congregation heard the familiar sound of an elderly parishioner walking down the aisle
toward the visitor. He was a Wealthy.... Respected members of the church who was dressed in a dark
blue suit.....and who walked with a slight limp and had to use his cane.
He slowly made his way down the aisle...with his cane tapping the marble floor.
He finally got to where the young individual was sitting and everyone thought he would reprimand the
young man .
The man handed his cane to a friend in the front pew and leaned over grasping the shoulder of the
young man sitting on

The Concepts of Hinduism and Buddhism
Buddhism and Hinduism have common roots: both religions have arisen in India. However, over long
history of its formation, Buddhism has absorbed traditions of many civilizations of the East. It was not
just a religion. This teaching is about personal enlightenment and contemplation of spirit. This
awakening of soul has no reference to God. According to Hindu teachings, the whole world is a
samsara. It consists of endless series of rebirths, where life is a suffering and stagnancy. The world
around is an illusion. Nevertheless, beyond samsara exists a real world, which is ruled by the ... Show

Nobody argues with such fate. The biggest chances to break out of samsara are representatives of the
highest priestly caste. Buddhism professes this principle in opportunities to attain the supreme grace.
It does not appreciate caste society. In addition, Buddhism is focusing solely on the individual and his
conscience.
Hinduism is an amorphous religion. It has no single founder, does not constitute a single religion with
specific dogma, and consists of many apprenticeships which have the same roots, but often include
contradictory. Buddhism has a clear doctrine, though it is not a dogma. This movement is a system of
philosophical knowledge. Generally, Hinduism is a national religion of Indians. Hinduism is
unthinkable outside its boundries. Buddhism is a religion that is non national. It involves people with
different cultural traditions.
Buddhists have their own cultural and educational centers, their ideology. Buddhism, preaches social
and political indifference. In practice, they made a huge contribution to the organization of society and
its ethno political awareness of their values. Society, politics and history are diametrically far for the
followers of Hinduism. Hinduism is indifferent and unavailable for alteration or changes. Buddhism is
more dynamic concept and it is attainable for renewal.
Place of emergence and spread of Hinduism is Indian subcontinent, where the

Cheddar Cheetos
All Natural White Cheddar Cheetos, which are labeled as a non GMO food, was tested for the
presence of genetically modified organisms. DNA was extracted, amplified by PCR and was subjected
to electrophoresis to prove the absence of a genetically modified organism in the non GMO Cheetos.
Using DNA molecules from samples of interest is the favored method in GMO detection because
DNA is easily recognizable and very stable (Gaudio, 2009). The gel electrophoresis picture shows the
different sizes of the DNA fragments from the Cheetos. As pictured in figure one, there was a band for
the sample containing the plant primers in lane eight for the photosystem II gene which served as a
target area to ensure that the DNA extraction occurred (Smith, 2015). In lane nine was the test food
with GMO primers, which did not show a band. This means that the Cheetos lacked a GMO gene and
there was no presence of the CaMV promoter and the Nos promoter in the sample food. This
concludes that the Cheetos do not contain a GMO, like the packaging indicates. Lanes ten and eleven
shows fragments because they were positive controls and were expected to show up with a molecular
weight of 500 bp and 200 bp, respectively. The target DNA to detect the GMO was at the CaMV and
Nos promoter, which are both present in the GMO positive controls. The negative controls can also be

A possibility of not getting a fragment under the test food with plant primers slot could be due to the
fact of not extracting enough DNA from the sample food. Another reason for any missing fragments
could be that the DNA ran off the gel, or that cross contamination occurred with improper labeling of
PCR tubes. These errors could be avoided by easily using the right sanitation methods, following the
protocol and ensuring the slurry mix contained a good ratio of sample food to

Reasons Why French Left Vietman in 1954
In 1939, Vietnam was part of a French indo china. This area was Laous, Cambodia and Vietnam. This
area was all part of the French empire in the 19th century. The French colonial rule was barely resisted
by the people of Vietnam but this harsh rule led to growing anti colonial feeling. Working conditions
in factories were very poor. Peasant farmers struggled with high taxes and the use of forced labour
because public works projects did little to help. Very few Vietnamese people could rise to positions of
importance in the colonial government. In 1885, the emperor of ... Show more content on

The only resistance to this Japanese rule was the Vietminh. The aim of this organisation was to
establish an independent and free Vietnam that was not under control of any foreign power. This
meant a fight against the French and the Japanese. This rule was formed by Ho Chi Minh in 1941.
Throughout the war, they attacked the French. Support grew in 1942 and 1943 but by 1944, they were
strong enough to attack the two French out posts.
In 1945, the Japanese finally over threw the French government and started to control the towns,
leaving country areas alone. This allowed the communists to build up support in those areas. Quite
soon afterwards, they defeated the Japanese and the war was over. After dropping atomic bombs on
Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the people of Vietnam planned an uprising. In September 1945, the
Vietnamese went to Haiphong. Ho Chi Minh declared independence. In October 1946, the French
forced the communists out of the south and took over Haiphong in the north. Then the indo Chinese
war began and the French started to control some of the important cities and

Polly In Regeneration
Based on things happen in the first half of the novel, here are my predictions of things may happen on
the second half: first, Colin will go back to 1940 and rescue Polly, Mike and Eileen; second,
relationship between Eileen and the vicar will be deepen; third, Mary and Polly are in fact the same
person. First of all, I predict that Colin will go to 1940 and rescue Polly mainly because of a
foreshadowing conversation between Polly and Colin. When Colin tries to convince Polly to accept
his love, he says:
We re absolutely made for each other...... And there s not point of falling in love with someone in this

Polly accidentally changed the history and finds herself trapped in 1940. Mike rescued soldiers that he
should not rescue and can not open his drop site again. Eileen develops a feeling and sympathy
towards the kids and the vicar and finds herself unable to go back to 2060.This is what i meant by
cause and result and Causal Loop . They realize this, that they changed their own fate and that they
have to walk the path themselves even though the path is full of thorns. It is hard for Polly to face and
hide her deadline by herself; it is tough for Eileen to forget about Vicar and the kids and keep up with
hopes; it is hard for Michael to protect his friends even though it is hard enough for him to even walk
with one foot. They overcome all the difficulties, they remain strong and stand still, they know that
they can and they will make up their own fate. This is also what touches me for the most throughout

The Pros And Cons Of Firefighters
Firefighters are the men that allow us to not worry about burning down the town on the 4th of july, or

a famous phrase used by firefighters before going into iminate danger and to show similarities of how
fire fighters are like local heros like soldiers(Howard). Fire fighters engage themselves in tough and
dangerous work to help the community around them. Anytime there is a car accident, a sick person in
need of advanced life support, or anything that has to deal with fires, they must respond to at moments
notice. Even though firefighters save people s lives daily, that is not what they do on a day by day

The health of poor people is affected most around the world. Studies suggest that the health of any
individual is badly imfluenced by low socioeconomic status of that person. There is a social gradient
in health that runs from top to bottom of the socioeconomic spectrum. The social gradient in health
means that health inequities affect everyone (WHO 2014).

Rock And Roll Music Genre Analysis
Q1: Of all the genres studied this semester, list 3 that you feel have been the most socially/politically
influential over time. Back up your choices with reasons and examples?
While many genres have been substantially influential over time both socially and politically, I feel
that rock and roll genre, country music genre, and African American roots genre.
Rock and Roll Music Genre
This genre s popularity has in time resulted in immense influence thus greatly impacting the society in
facets such as the daily lives of individuals, the language, fashion, and attitudes. In fact, the genre s
influence on social development can only be equaled by a few other music genres. Rock and roll
music enabled the blending of white and black music essentially bringing down the racial boundaries
in the 1950s which resulted and encouraged the racial desegregation of the 1960s. Additionally, the
American racial civil movements that occurred in the 1960s were greatly influenced by this music
genre. More so, people especially young teenagers were greatly influenced by the genre as well as the
celebrities themselves, which led to a new style of fashion altogether. Apart from this, rock and roll
music would result to more people understanding the core importance of education in dealing with
social problems such as racism and poverty.
Country Music Genre
Country music genre has been associated with the American culture for a long time, in fact, the music
has significance socially in that it has

The Bronze David By Donatello Of The Early Renaissance
The Bronze David by Donatello of the Early Renaissance shows a subtle transition through style and
form to the High Renaissance when compared to the marble David by Michelangelo. Yet a similar
Renaissance interpretation of the character of David is seen in both pieces. Donatello s David
embodies the humanism and classicism of the Italian Renaissance, and pioneers styles that would
influence a generation. The perfection of David by Michelangelo creates a similar allusion to
humanism and classical form while indicating Donatello s lasting influence and inserting neoplatonic
ideas of the High Renaissance. Through his Bronze David, 1430, Donatello documents a biblical
character in a form that captures the ideals of the Italian Renaissance. The five foot and two inch piece
recreates the moment after the human hero David slays Goliath whose head lies at his feet. The
structure, Figure 1, not only celebrates the use of human wit and potential, but David s nudity
emphasizes the human body s physical grace. In addition, the figure s bareness is accentuated by the
calf length boots and large hat. The use of the free standing style allows the human form to be
appreciated at every angle. This quintessential instance of human heroism is documented by the artist
and articulated by the sculpture with an air of nonchalance. The poetic and heroic indifference and self
satisfaction expressed in Donatello s David is classified as sprezzatura. Sprezzatura is the idyllic
attitude of a human

Death Is Not Bad For Anyone
Death is not Bad for Anyone
Epicurus writes, the argument that death is nothing to us, because when we exist, death is not yet
present, and when death comes, we no longer exist. There are three reasonable previews to support his
view, including: something is bad for someone as long as it must be bad for that person at specific
time; Death cannot be bad for someone when they are dead because the person does not exist at that
time; Death cannot be bad for someone before death actually come. Among these three reasonable
previews, Epicurus draw his conclusion that because there is no time at which death is bad for
someone, so death is not bad for anyone. I m agree with that Death is not bad for anyone , because
death can t affect us since we are died. Although the objection is reasonable, I still think the Epicurus s
response is stronger. The objection is that death can be bad because it is a deprivation of the good
things in life. Our life is full of good things. We have time that we stay with our parents or hang out
with our friends; we have time that we do our hobby and go traveling to see the world; we have time
that we go shopping and eat delicious foods; though there are still sometimes bad things happens, it

The diagnosis of students of autism brings long term effects that can increase the functionality of the
child s life. As we know, early diagnosis is key producing long term effects whenever families and
parents are diligent in getting their children help. Throughout the diagnosis process, it is imperative to
take every element into account. Considerations such as race, culture, and socioeconomic status may
affect the validity and reliability of the test. Although the test can be administered exactly as it should
be, there are many different characteristics of the child in their upbringing that can affect the outcome
of the results.
Whether a diagnosis of autism, or diagnosis of another disability is to be made, interventions can be
developed to add the child s tool belt on their waist of life. Research shows that the early intervention
can highly impact the likelihood of success (Krader, 2014). The American Academy of pediatric tells
us that the diagnosis procedure should start in children between 18 and 24 months. With the essential
screening process, recommendations can be used to begin intervention and start the help that the child
needs. As we have seen through research, not all children receive testing that proves equality (Krader,
2014).

Nonviolent Direct Action Is An Option
Violence is an option that is heavily debated when taking action. It can often result in complete chaos
and not accomplish the original purpose of the action. Nonviolent direct action is another option that is
contemplated. It involves the use of direct action without violent force to get the point of the action
known. Examples of nonviolent direct action would include strikes and protests. The use of such
action is often best implemented in human experience that involve discrimination. Differences in race,
gender, or religious affiliation can often cause discrimination. Individuals in minority groups are seen
as unequal to the majority and can be easily be discriminated against. To promote change, minority
groups often take actions. The action can either involve violence or exclude it. Violent force can
degrade the appearance of the individuals and create more anger between the two opposing sides. The
use of non violent direct action shows more humility of those who are being discriminated against.
Others being to understand the issue without creating chaos. Non violent direct action can also be used
for political purposes. Protestors can often be found outside of government buildings demanding
change. It also works well in this aspect because it can be more powerful than the use of violence. The

Death And The Maiden Play Essay
In the play Death and the Maiden, written by Ariel Dorfman, Paulina goes through a deterioration of
character. She steadily becomes more and more unstable, and her actions become alarmingly
irrational. The events that took place in her captivation are gradually revealed as the play progresses,
yet much is left unsaid, leaving it up to the reader s interpretation. There is no specific context to time
and place as no historical events are introduced, however, it is revealed that the country is moving
from a harrowing dictatorship to a democracy. The traumatic events Paulina experienced can be
perceived differently by each reader through her reliance on a safe haven, the structure and techniques
used in the play and the universal setting and time permitting alternate nations with varying social
norms to differ the reader s perception of Paulina. Dorfman s undefined setting grants the play Death
and the Maiden to be universal, thereby altering how each reader perceives Paulina s trauma.
The author of Death and the Maiden chooses to have both a universal setting and personal setting.
This decision enables the reader to perceive the events however they desire to do so, however, the
personal setting underlines Paulina s reliance on a safe place. Paulina s personal setting, her home, is
where she can feel secure and has the possibility to control what happens, contrary to when she was
held in captivity. Her safe haven, however, is destroyed when Dr. Miranda intrudes her home. This

opportunities.¨ Henry V demonstrated his ability to make all of his men feel valued and equal.
Although they are clearly of varying status, he still wanted them to feel valued and to have some sort
of freedom as to being equal. Henry V always thought that if someone sets their mind to something,
they will then be able to succeed. ¨God shall be his hope, each and every day. God is his stay, his
guide, and lantern to his feet.¨ Henry V was a great warrior. If you could name someone that did not
care if he were to get harmed, it would be Henry V Yet it would be his honor to bring victory. He was
a leader and had only one desire. He took any opportunities that came. Once he said his mind to
something, he was going to do it. Even if it meant putting his life on the line, the way he thought about
it was different. For him, it would just lead him and his men closer to success. As human beings
ourselves, we like to feel valued and equal. His men are no different than us. As a human being, we
have feelings. This meant Henry V wanted to have the ability to show his men that if they put their life
on the line, he shall do the same. Not many men who have other men to fight for them, do what he
does. He´s not afraid of death and only wants to lead others into success. Henry V is a model of
traditional heroism, but his value system is confusing. Henry V tends to paint a picture of the future,

Memory And Sensory Memory
Everyday people rely on memory. Remembering to set your clock the night before, the routine you do
every morning getting ready for the day, remembering what you must do for the day, and remembering
something as simple as making a sandwich. None of this is possible without memory. Memory is the
ability to be able to mentally remember and manipulate information. Memory can be affected by
strong emotions, injuries and diseases. There are different types of memory; sensory, short term, and
long term memory. Sensory memory is sensory information coming at you that you can be retained for
a few milliseconds. It s the shortest memory out of the three and is held just long enough to move to
short term memory. In sensory memory, we have iconic (visual) and echoic (auditory) memory. Iconic
memory is the visual memory one sees and retains. When looking at objects, faces, words, or numbers
your brain may choose to keep some information and move it to short term memory. When you are
exposed visually to something, majority of the time its lost within 500milliseconds. Negative effects
can cause sensory memory capacity to decrease but the precision of what is seen increases
(Spachtholz, Kuhbandner, Pekrun, 2014.) When exposed to negative sensory, what you can remember
is decreased but the detail of what you remember is more accurate.
Echoic memory is a sensory memory that is specific to receiving auditory information. Majority of
what we hear is forgotten in 1 second. Sensory memory allows us to collect information and process it
just long enough to move to short term memory. After sensory memory, there is short term memory or
as some call it working memory. Here, memory is stored long enough to use it. When a task is needed
to be completed, it is obtained here and may be quickly forgotten after the task is complete. Short term
memory and long term memory can work back and forth. Information that is deemed important and to
be remembered goes to long term memory and when you need to remember something, it comes from
your long term memory and goes back to short term memory. After it is used, it goes back to long term
memory to be recalled at a later time. Information that comes from sensory memory and is not
forgotten

Conagra Foods
Abstract
I will be giving you a background of both ConAgra Foods Inc. and the Hanover Bakery to get a better
handle on the issues that are currently at hand. ConAgra Foods Hanover Bakery is currently dealing
with three major cost issues waste, oven temperature regulation, and the warehouse department. This
paper will be focusing on just one cost issue that is in the warehouse departments. The warehouse
department is currently dealing with a $4 5 million cost in Integrated Mixing Centers in York and
Milton. This is hurting the plant s case fill rate due to lost product, damaged product, and shorting
customer orders. Another cost issue deals with production but affects the warehouse because of space
constraints. This cost issue plays a role in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

would take for a material handler to receive and deliver a pallet of corrugate to the packing room. The
other issue that comes into play is the township allowing a catwalk because of water run off to the

Naked Mole Rat Research Paper
The Naked Mole Rat
The naked mole rat is a very fascinating little creature. Naked mole rats are more closely related to
porcupines, chinchillas, and guinea pigs than they are to moles or rats and are the only species of mole
rat that has practically no fur (Zielinski). It s not very cute to look at. They are pinkish tan, with
wrinkled skin, and a tail. They do not have fur, hence the name naked. They do have very fine hairs on
their body to help them feel what s around them. They are also known as a sand puppy. It s closely
related to the blesmols (Hagan). The have big, strong sharp incisors. These are used for digging
tunnels and gnawing on roots and tubers that grow underground from trees and plants.

Motion Cueing Simulation Analysis
Human factors issues in flight simulation have been identified to include motion sickness, motion
cueing, and adapting fidelity issues related to flying the simulator versus the actual aircraft. Also there
is the issue with older legacy simulators that are still in use and their limitations. It is an accepted fact
that aircraft simulator design is a balance between technology, design limitations, cost and operational
effectiveness and safe to assume that due to these limitations, the simulator will never feel or fly
exactly like the actual aircraft (Sewzey Andrews, 2001). In addition, the high cost of building a
simulator, the technical support and operation costs will continue to grow with simulators.

freedom, decisions are made to protect that right. Several opportunities testing the strength of the

Conduct Assessments
Ways to conduct assessments Assessment in counseling should be viewed not as a one time prediction
activity but rather as continuous throughout the counseling process (Juhnke, 1995). In the future I
would conduct assessments for each of my clients before service is conducted to gather information
about them and when there have been any types of disruption with the client while receiving services.
Conducting assessments would help to determine what goals to set and other resources that the client
may need to assist with their problem. With the increase problem with people being killed by law

they acquired in the deal with the devil . Both Tom Walker from The Devil and Tom Walker and
Queen Ravenna from Snow White and the Huntsman were motivated to make deals with the devil and
had the same outcome. Foremost, the motivation for Queen Ravenna was her thirst for power, the
death of the King shows this. For example, she kills the King on their honeymoon to achieve a higher

teachers each receive a checklist to make sure all academic standards are covered before PSSA s start.
Age and/ or related characteristics of students are also discussed during their planning periods. Mrs.

Inbreeding In The Habsburg Dynasty
Inbreeding is an extremely controversial topic of debate that has been around since biblical times. The
most extreme form of inbreeding is incest, which is primarily between first cousins and second first
cousins. Inbreeding is practiced for many different reasons including royalty, religion, culture,
socioeconomic class, geographic isolation, and small populations. Possibly the most dramatic instance
of incest for reasons of royalty was within Habsburg Dynasty. The Habsburg Dynasty was one of the
most powerful dynasties in Medieval and Renaissance Europe, beginning in the early 12th century.
The group controlled huge portions of Europe including Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Italy, France,
and Spain, maintaining control by marrying only within their dynasty. Most marriages within the
dynasty were consanguineous, meaning marriage between close blood relatives, taking place between
first cousins, double first cousins, and uncles/nieces. Although their inbreeding originally led to their
rise in power, it consequently led to their eventual demise. By the end of the 17th century, the negative
effects of their marital practices became obvious through that the dynasty had distinctive physical
mutations including a protruding lip, high infant mortality rate, and many health problems. By 1700,
the Habsburgs were sterile, therefore unable to produce a heir. Another effect of these marriages was
that infant and child mortality rose to about 50% within the Spanish Habsburgs. There

techniques have been discovered? Speaking of technique, how should a student preacher apply

Through this survey they found the small church pastor was not as influence by books because their
concern was more focused on discipleship. Whereas the pastor of a larger church was more apt to read
more books to get incite on how to continue to grow his church and meet the needs of the people. Also
the survey revealed the different types of influence came from authors, their fellow colleagues and
other theology influences. Also, they discovered pastors of a Pentecostal churches were more
conservative in their approaches and would not use the influence of outside sources. The Word of God
talks about the mature saint and the survey also discovered that the age of a pastor will have influence
of what is preached based on experience. Either way modern day preaching has many factors of how a
sermon is structured and shared among congregations at every main service. When you consider how
today s modern preacher or teacher compares to the original believers of Christ there is a shortage in
comparison. There could be one factor missing and it s just purely believing in the power of God s
word being enough for the people to feed on and live on until eternity. His word never changes it is the
bread of life that will feed any intellectual of our time.

Bobo The Doll Experiment Summary
Albert Bandura s Bobo the Doll Experiment was performed to solidify and add credence to his belief
that all human behavior is learned through social imitation, rather than inherited through genetic
influences. During the 1960s, many psychologists debated whether genetics or environmental factors,
such as social learning, effected a child s development. Bandura designed the Bobo Doll experiment to
prove that children imitate behaviors set by role model s. Bandura s research hastened the evolution of
the 20th century experimental psychology from pure behaviorism into what is now known as social
cognitive learning (Artino, 2017). The 1961 experiment followed thirty six boys and thirty six girls
from the Stanford University Nursery School (Bandura, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bandura s findings and his social learning theory help explain this correlation. The American
Academy of Pediatrics decided to explore if this correlation can be scientifically exhibited in research
studies. They discovered that media does indeed influence children because of the ideas founded by
Bandura s theory. A child can learn aggressive behaviors by imitating others, including those who are
portrayed in the media. This is because children younger than eight years have difficulty being able to
distinguish reality from fantasy (Media Violence, 2009). Therefore, they can be vulnerable to learning,
or adopting the attitudes and behaviors of a role model found in the media. However, this discovery is
not always detrimental. Much of prosocial media uses Bandura s theory to their advantage, and creates
role models that exhibit excellent behavior (Ng,

Arguments Against Young Earth Creationism
Creationism View
When one is discovering a personal worldview, it is important to learn about how that perspective
looks for the beginning of time and the end of time. As a Christian, it is especially important to
understand what stance one should take on creationism. Looking at Genesis 1 2, one can see why there
is much controversy amongst the Christian community because there are several different ways one
can interpret these chapters. For example, some people believe the world was created in six 24 hour
days and these individuals are known as Young Earth Creationists. While others know as Old Earth
Creationists, believe that the earth was created over a longer period of time. Overall, the main debate
for the point of view on creationism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On this day, God planted the seeds into the world making His garden. Someone who believes in
Young Earth Creationism would believe that God sped up the process so everything would be
completed within 24 hours. According to Genesis 1:12 it says, the land produced vegetation: plants
bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.
And God saw that it was good. (NIV). This scripture states that the land produced vegetation which
means that God did not speed up the process of making the vegetation grow faster. Instead God let the
earth do the work of growing. Going on with the argument against Young Earth Creationism would be
to look at the scriptures in Genesis 1:24 31 and Genesis 2:7 8. Here it talks about the sixth day of
creation, on this day animals were created, Adam, and God planted the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:15
states that all the cattle, the birds of the sky, and every beast in the field to Adam to name. God put
Adam to sleep, took a piece from this side and formed Eve. Adam exclaimed, Now at length (NIV). At
length means now at last, indicating that it has been a long period of time that Adam had gone without
Eve. As humans we desire connections with other human beings and we desire love. For Adam to
become lonely within just a few hours would not seem plausible. If we consider a day in time through
the Old Earth Creationism perspective; a single day relates to a thousand years, then it would seem
more plausible that Adam grew lonely during this period. Also, back in the Garden of Eden there were
over ten thousand animals. For Adam to name every single one of them in only a few short hours
would not make sense. (Old Earth

Norms Are The Expectations, Or Rules Of Behavior
Norms are the expectations, or rules of behavior that develop to reflect and enforce values. A norm
violation is when a person goes against a certain way that culture and society expects one to act. When
going against the norm it means that you are doing something that is not acceptable to one s society or
their culture. Normative behavior is expected to be in every culture. For example, in our society men
and women have the freedom to wear whatever they please, we are allowed to show our legs, arms,
feet etc. because its an expression of who we are and what we like. In the Muslim culture when a
women reaches puberty no part of her body should remain uncovered except the face and the hand up
to the wrist joint. If the Muslim woman wore shorts and a t shirt it would be considered a violation of
a norm. But because this violation differs from our American Society it wouldn t be considered weird
or strange to wear shorts and a tee.
The norm violation i preformed was the invasion of privacy. People are used to being in a bubble,
having a couple feet of space among themselves and strangers. So what i did was go to my local
Target and basically creep four people out. I started off by walking up to these people individually. and
standing so close to them to where our shoulders met. The only common reaction they shared was
confusion. Two of the customers didn t see me coming, i snuck up on them. One of them (a middle

  • 2. Cod Chapter Summary I chose the book Cod: A Biography of the Fish That Changed the World. As the title suggests, and the author, Mark Kurlansky, explores, a simple fish, more specifically, cod, has an importance that has been proven throughout history. The prologue is set in Petty Harbour, a town in Newfoundland and tells a story of three experienced fishermen, Sam, Leonard, and Bernard. They are participating in the Sentinel Fishery which was an attempt to help scientists and fishermen work together to measure the supply of cod. Their boat was to catch as many cod as they could and measure and tag them. A second boat was to catch exactly 100 cod and open them to identify their age and sex. For three men who fishing was their life hobby, you would think this would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As outlined in this assignment, a hazard is defined as an object, condition, or process that threatens individuals and society in terms of production or reproduction. I would like to suggest that the process of overfishing is a hazard that this book unfolds throughout history. Overfishing is simply when cod are caught at a faster rate than they can naturally reproduce. The author suggests that man is part of the natural world and the two can t separate themselves, and in this case the activity of overfishing is driven by man. Cod provided a source of protein and a financial stability to many nations. As populations increased, the demand for cod increased, and consequently the industry became competitive in nature. Because of this, fishing for the Atlantic cod became commercialized, and although nations modernized at different speeds, the goal for all was to catch more. As early as 1815, the French used the technique of longlining. Although it was expensive because of the amount of bait that was used, it was the first advancement from handlining and allowed for numerous fish to be caught at once. From there, bottom dragging became popular and although it was an effective method of catching a lot of cod at once, it was also damaging to other fish that got caught in the net. In addition to improved techniques, curing methods advanced and freezing methods were developed. Technology advancements included the chronometer and telegraph which both improved navigation, and sonors and spotter aircraft aided in spotting cod schools. Fishing boats advanced from oars and sails to steam powered to motorships. All of these advancements aided in the overfishing, and consequently became a hazard. Scientists argue that you can t predict nature and there is no way to tell if and when, as well as, how long it will take to replenish the codstock. For this reason, I suggest overfishing to be a hazard. The depletion of cod has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Small Town Living In Our Town The play Our Town, illustrates the true essence of small town living. When living in a small town, people see a familiar face wherever they go and know the history and character behind these individuals. Life in a small town can lack options for entertainment at times; some may even categorize it as dull . Yet, anyone can see that Grover s Corners, the town written about in Our Town, and Colby, Kansas contain a life full of personality and charm. The citizens of Grover s Corners live a basic life throughout the majority of the play. The play portrays daily life, love and marriage, and how delicate life can amount to. The life lived today in Colby compared with Grover s Corners depicts several similarities as well as differences. Each person in the small town lives a simple life that meets their basic needs: working, their political philosophy and their religious affiliation. In Act I, the Lady in a Box quizzes Mr. Webb about the culture of the community. The playwright expresses this through Mr. Webb saying, Well, ma am, there ain t much not in the sense you mean (Wilder 17). This means the townspeople don t attend elaborate concerts, but enjoy simple pleasures such as the playing of a piano at local events. In our town, very rarely do big promoted concerts choose Colby as their venue, but citizens get to enjoy a lot of local talent. The population of Grover s Corners consists of 3,149 people compared to Colby which has around 5,418 people. Furthermore, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Tourist Attraction November 16 was a six country day. Several Miguel and I flew over, others we landed in. After leaving Tapachula, Mexico, we over flew Guatemala and made a fuel stop in El Salvador. We over flew Honduras and Nicaragua, eventually landing in Liberia, Costa Rica. The time spent over Guatamala turned out to be particularly memorable. The G in Guatemala must stand for green. From the cockpit, my eyes could discern every imaginable shade of green and no other hues. I had the impression farmers cultivated every available square inch of arable land. Miguel and I were able to observe Volcán de Fuego ( Volcano of Fire ) on that rare day when neither smoke spewed from it nor clouds floated over it, an impressive sight. With ease, I grasped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prior to arriving at the airport, in my mind, El Salvador always conjured up Iran Contra and the 1980 s Miami Vice type images of guerillas blowing up buildings. Fortunately, my perceptions turned out to be totally erroneous and our experience, while time consuming, was quite enjoyable. While talking to one of the workers at the airport, I commented on how outstanding the facilities were, not a difficult comment to express with total sincerity as the airport was beautiful and the facilities were significantly in excess of adequate. He spoke English fluently and his uncensored, genial response was, Do you see how good it can be when you guys (Americans) don t mess around with us? I heard comparable sentiments expressed numerous times throughout the trip. Miguel and I were now south of the airports along the border between the United States and Mexico and that made a world of difference. XXXXX This was the first time we landed at an airport which didn t routinely service private, non commercial airplanes flying to or from the United States. As Comalapa was an international airport and our plane was extraordinarily diminutive compared to commercial airliners, controllers directed us to park off to the side of the terminal. Parked there, our plane wouldn t interfere with the international airlines transiting the jetway while Miguel and I were at customs. As I mentioned earlier, general aviation is ... • 6. The Church Of A Catholic Church There is a story told about a congregation in a small Catholic Church located in a mid western state. He walked slowly down the center aisle looking for a place to sit but no one would move over to make room for him in the pew. He completed his walk not finding a place to sit, so he sat down on the floor at the foot of the sanctuary. The upright parishioners were shocked and wondered why someone didn t do something...for this person should be dealt with immediately. Then the congregation heard the familiar sound of an elderly parishioner walking down the aisle toward the visitor. He was a Wealthy.... Respected members of the church who was dressed in a dark blue suit.....and who walked with a slight limp and had to use his cane. He slowly made his way down the aisle...with his cane tapping the marble floor. He finally got to where the young individual was sitting and everyone thought he would reprimand the young man . The man handed his cane to a friend in the front pew and leaned over grasping the shoulder of the young man sitting on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Concepts Of Hinduism And Buddhism The Concepts of Hinduism and Buddhism (Name) (Course name) (Instructors name) (Date of submission) The Concepts of Hinduism and Buddhism Buddhism and Hinduism have common roots: both religions have arisen in India. However, over long history of its formation, Buddhism has absorbed traditions of many civilizations of the East. It was not just a religion. This teaching is about personal enlightenment and contemplation of spirit. This awakening of soul has no reference to God. According to Hindu teachings, the whole world is a samsara. It consists of endless series of rebirths, where life is a suffering and stagnancy. The world around is an illusion. Nevertheless, beyond samsara exists a real world, which is ruled by the ... Buddhism professes this principle in opportunities to attain the supreme grace. It does not appreciate caste society. In addition, Buddhism is focusing solely on the individual and his conscience. Hinduism is an amorphous religion. It has no single founder, does not constitute a single religion with specific dogma, and consists of many apprenticeships which have the same roots, but often include contradictory. Buddhism has a clear doctrine, though it is not a dogma. This movement is a system of philosophical knowledge. Generally, Hinduism is a national religion of Indians. • 9. Cheddar Cheetos All Natural White Cheddar Cheetos, which are labeled as a non GMO food, was tested for the presence of genetically modified organisms. DNA was extracted, amplified by PCR and was subjected to electrophoresis to prove the absence of a genetically modified organism in the non GMO Cheetos. Using DNA molecules from samples of interest is the favored method in GMO detection because DNA is easily recognizable and very stable (Gaudio, 2009). The gel electrophoresis picture shows the different sizes of the DNA fragments from the Cheetos. As pictured in figure one, there was a band for the sample containing the plant primers in lane eight for the photosystem II gene which served as a target area to ensure that the DNA extraction occurred (Smith, 2015). In lane nine was the test food with GMO primers, which did not show a band. This means that the Cheetos lacked a GMO gene and there was no presence of the CaMV promoter and the Nos promoter in the sample food. This concludes that the Cheetos do not contain a GMO, like the packaging indicates. Lanes ten and eleven shows fragments because they were positive controls and were expected to show up with a molecular weight of 500 bp and 200 bp, respectively. The target DNA to detect the GMO was at the CaMV and Nos promoter, which are both present in the GMO positive controls. The negative controls can also be seen ... The Bronze David By Donatello Of The Early Renaissance The Bronze David by Donatello of the Early Renaissance shows a subtle transition through style and form to the High Renaissance when compared to the marble David by Michelangelo. Yet a similar Renaissance interpretation of the character of David is seen in both pieces. Donatello s David embodies the humanism and classicism of the Italian Renaissance, and pioneers styles that would influence a generation. The perfection of David by Michelangelo creates a similar allusion to humanism and classical form while indicating Donatello s lasting influence and inserting neoplatonic ideas of the High Renaissance. Through his Bronze David, 1430, Donatello documents a biblical character in a form that captures the ideals of the Italian Renaissance. The five foot and two inch piece recreates the moment after the human hero David slays Goliath whose head lies at his feet. The structure, Figure 1, not only celebrates the use of human wit and potential, but David s nudity emphasizes the human body s physical grace. In addition, the figure s bareness is accentuated by the calf length boots and large hat. The use of the free standing style allows the human form to be appreciated at every angle. This quintessential instance of human heroism is documented by the artist and articulated by the sculpture with an air of nonchalance. The poetic and heroic indifference and self satisfaction expressed in Donatello s David is classified as sprezzatura. Sprezzatura is the idyllic attitude of a human ... There are three reasonable previews to support his view, including: something is bad for someone as long as it must be bad for that person at specific time; Death cannot be bad for someone when they are dead because the person does not exist at that time; Death cannot be bad for someone before death actually come. Among these three reasonable previews, Epicurus draw his conclusion that because there is no time at which death is bad for someone, so death is not bad for anyone. I m agree with that Death is not bad for anyone , because death can t affect us since we are died. Although the objection is reasonable, I still think the Epicurus s response is stronger. Critical Issues Paper Of Testing Equality Critical Issues Paper of Testing Equality Megan Randle University of North Texas The diagnosis of students of autism brings long term effects that can increase the functionality of the child s life. As we know, early diagnosis is key producing long term effects whenever families and parents are diligent in getting their children help. Throughout the diagnosis process, it is imperative to take every element into account. Considerations such as race, culture, and socioeconomic status may affect the validity and reliability of the test. Although the test can be administered exactly as it should be, there are many different characteristics of the child in their upbringing that can affect the outcome of the results. Whether a diagnosis of autism, or diagnosis of another disability is to be made, interventions can be developed to add the child s tool belt on their waist of life. Research shows that the early intervention can highly impact the likelihood of success (Krader, 2014). The American Academy of pediatric tells us that the diagnosis procedure should start in children between 18 and 24 months. With the essential screening process, recommendations can be used to begin intervention and start the help that the child needs. • 21. Death And The Maiden Play Essay In the play Death and the Maiden, written by Ariel Dorfman, Paulina goes through a deterioration of character. She steadily becomes more and more unstable, and her actions become alarmingly irrational. The events that took place in her captivation are gradually revealed as the play progresses, yet much is left unsaid, leaving it up to the reader s interpretation. There is no specific context to time and place as no historical events are introduced, however, it is revealed that the country is moving from a harrowing dictatorship to a democracy. The traumatic events Paulina experienced can be perceived differently by each reader through her reliance on a safe haven, the structure and techniques used in the play and the universal setting and time permitting alternate nations with varying social norms to differ the reader s perception of Paulina. Dorfman s undefined setting grants the play Death and the Maiden to be universal, thereby altering how each reader perceives Paulina s trauma. The author of Death and the Maiden chooses to have both a universal setting and personal setting. This decision enables the reader to perceive the events however they desire to do so, however, the personal setting underlines Paulina s reliance on a safe place. Henry V always thought that if someone sets their mind to something, they will then be able to succeed. ¨God shall be his hope, each and every day. Remembering to set your clock the night before, the routine you do every morning getting ready for the day, remembering what you must do for the day, and remembering something as simple as making a sandwich. None of this is possible without memory. Memory is the ability to be able to mentally remember and manipulate information. Memory can be affected by strong emotions, injuries and diseases. There are different types of memory; sensory, short term, and long term memory. Sensory memory is sensory information coming at you that you can be retained for a few milliseconds. It s the shortest memory out of the three and is held just long enough to move to short term memory. In sensory memory, we have iconic (visual) and echoic (auditory) memory. Iconic memory is the visual memory one sees and retains. When looking at objects, faces, words, or numbers your brain may choose to keep some information and move it to short term memory. When you are exposed visually to something, majority of the time its lost within 500milliseconds. Negative effects can cause sensory memory capacity to decrease but the precision of what is seen increases (Spachtholz, Kuhbandner, Pekrun, 2014.) When exposed to negative sensory, what you can remember is decreased but the detail of what you remember is more accurate. Echoic memory is a sensory memory that is specific to receiving auditory information. Majority of what we hear is forgotten in 1 second. Sensory memory allows us to collect information and process it just long enough to move to short term memory. After sensory memory, there is short term memory or as some call it working memory. Here, memory is stored long enough to use it. When a task is needed to be completed, it is obtained here and may be quickly forgotten after the task is complete. Short term memory and long term memory can work back and forth. Information that is deemed important and to be remembered goes to long term memory and when you need to remember something, it comes from your long term memory and goes back to short term memory. After it is used, it goes back to long term memory to be recalled at a later time. Information that comes from sensory memory and is not forgotten ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Indirect methods of behavioral assessment might include the counselor interviewing the client or talking to significant others about the reported problem behavior (Juhnke, 1995). • 32. The Devil And Tom Walker Character Analysis The method of selling your soul has been done in the past. The motivation for doing so is usually for something of great value in return, which isn t always money but almost always ends in losing what they acquired in the deal with the devil . Both Tom Walker from The Devil and Tom Walker and Queen Ravenna from Snow White and the Huntsman were motivated to make deals with the devil and had the same outcome. Foremost, the motivation for Queen Ravenna was her thirst for power, the death of the King shows this. For example, she kills the King on their honeymoon to achieve a higher throne. • 33. My Teacher Interview And Observation Essay For my teacher interview and observation, I observed and interviewed Mrs. Jackie Tosh. She is a 3rd grade teacher and has 24 students in her class. Mrs. Tosh graduated from ESU; she obtained her Bachelors in 2004 and her Masters in 2010. Mrs. Tosh plans and prepares for her classes three days in advance, with her team. They come up with objectives and decide how they will accomplish each of them. The team then sits down again to see where they are at and to discuss if there is anything they need to cover again. The Pa. Pre K 12 Academic Standards are incorporated into their planning. The teachers each receive a checklist to make sure all academic standards are covered before PSSA s start. Age and/ or related characteristics of students are also discussed during their planning periods. Mrs. Tosh mentioned that she does have learning goals for a student with individual needs. This student has a gifted IEP. The student requires more challenging work and enrichment services. For example, if other students receive a multiple choice problem, this student may receive an open ended problem. This student may also be graded harder, because the student has higher expectations. There are various resources, materials, technology and activities to engage students in meaningful ways, based on the instructional goals. There are many posters hanging on the walls, and a lot of technology throughout the room as well. I observed elements of effective classroom management; I observed from ... • 34. Inbreeding In The Habsburg Dynasty Inbreeding is an extremely controversial topic of debate that has been around since biblical times. The most extreme form of inbreeding is incest, which is primarily between first cousins and second first cousins. Inbreeding is practiced for many different reasons including royalty, religion, culture, socioeconomic class, geographic isolation, and small populations. Possibly the most dramatic instance of incest for reasons of royalty was within Habsburg Dynasty. The Habsburg Dynasty was one of the most powerful dynasties in Medieval and Renaissance Europe, beginning in the early 12th century. The group controlled huge portions of Europe including Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Italy, France, and Spain, maintaining control by marrying only within their dynasty. Most marriages within the dynasty were consanguineous, meaning marriage between close blood relatives, taking place between first cousins, double first cousins, and uncles/nieces. Although their inbreeding originally led to their rise in power, it consequently led to their eventual demise. By the end of the 17th century, the negative effects of their marital practices became obvious through that the dynasty had distinctive physical mutations including a protruding lip, high infant mortality rate, and many health problems. By 1700, the Habsburgs were sterile, therefore unable to produce a heir. Another effect of these marriages was that infant and child mortality rose to about 50% within the Spanish Habsburgs. • 39. Bobo The Doll Experiment Summary Albert Bandura s Bobo the Doll Experiment was performed to solidify and add credence to his belief that all human behavior is learned through social imitation, rather than inherited through genetic influences. During the 1960s, many psychologists debated whether genetics or environmental factors, such as social learning, effected a child s development. Bandura designed the Bobo Doll experiment to prove that children imitate behaviors set by role model s. Bandura s research hastened the evolution of the 20th century experimental psychology from pure behaviorism into what is now known as social cognitive learning (Artino, 2017). The 1961 experiment followed thirty six boys and thirty six girls from the Stanford University Nursery School (Bandura, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bandura s findings and his social learning theory help explain this correlation. The American Academy of Pediatrics decided to explore if this correlation can be scientifically exhibited in research studies. They discovered that media does indeed influence children because of the ideas founded by Bandura s theory. A child can learn aggressive behaviors by imitating others, including those who are portrayed in the media. This is because children younger than eight years have difficulty being able to distinguish reality from fantasy (Media Violence, 2009). Therefore, they can be vulnerable to learning, or adopting the attitudes and behaviors of a role model found in the media. However, this discovery is not always detrimental. Much of prosocial media uses Bandura s theory to their advantage, and creates role models that exhibit excellent behavior (Ng, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Arguments Against Young Earth Creationism Creationism View When one is discovering a personal worldview, it is important to learn about how that perspective looks for the beginning of time and the end of time. As a Christian, it is especially important to understand what stance one should take on creationism. Looking at Genesis 1 2, one can see why there is much controversy amongst the Christian community because there are several different ways one can interpret these chapters. For example, some people believe the world was created in six 24 hour days and these individuals are known as Young Earth Creationists. While others know as Old Earth Creationists, believe that the earth was created over a longer period of time. Overall, the main debate for the point of view on creationism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On this day, God planted the seeds into the world making His garden. Someone who believes in Young Earth Creationism would believe that God sped up the process so everything would be completed within 24 hours. According to Genesis 1:12 it says, the land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. (NIV). This scripture states that the land produced vegetation which means that God did not speed up the process of making the vegetation grow faster. Instead God let the earth do the work of growing. Going on with the argument against Young Earth Creationism would be to look at the scriptures in Genesis 1:24 31 and Genesis 2:7 8. Here it talks about the sixth day of creation, on this day animals were created, Adam, and God planted the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:15 states that all the cattle, the birds of the sky, and every beast in the field to Adam to name. God put Adam to sleep, took a piece from this side and formed Eve. Adam exclaimed, Now at length (NIV). At length means now at last, indicating that it has been a long period of time that Adam had gone without Eve. As humans we desire connections with other human beings and we desire love. For Adam to become lonely within just a few hours would not seem plausible. If we consider a day in time through the Old Earth Creationism perspective; a single day relates to a thousand years, then it would seem more plausible that Adam grew lonely during this period. Also, back in the Garden of Eden there were over ten thousand animals. For Adam to name every single one of them in only a few short hours would not make sense. (Old Earth ... • 42. Norms Are The Expectations, Or Rules Of Behavior Norms are the expectations, or rules of behavior that develop to reflect and enforce values. A norm violation is when a person goes against a certain way that culture and society expects one to act. When going against the norm it means that you are doing something that is not acceptable to one s society or their culture. Normative behavior is expected to be in every culture. For example, in our society men and women have the freedom to wear whatever they please, we are allowed to show our legs, arms, feet etc. because its an expression of who we are and what we like. In the Muslim culture when a women reaches puberty no part of her body should remain uncovered except the face and the hand up to the wrist joint. If the Muslim woman wore shorts and a t shirt it would be considered a violation of a norm. But because this violation differs from our American Society it wouldn t be considered weird or strange to wear shorts and a tee. The norm violation i preformed was the invasion of privacy. People are used to being in a bubble, having a couple feet of space among themselves and strangers. So what i did was go to my local Target and basically creep four people out. I started off by walking up to these people individually. and standing so close to them to where our shoulders met. The only common reaction they shared was confusion.
