Raft Descriptive Writing
The white water crushes against the boat, almost as if it was waiting for us to make a wrong paddle
movement. The rapid we were going over was told to be considered a 5 and extremely dangerous. One
wrong move and you could get sucked under the rough water. High waves keep crashing against our
raft, keeping us constantly wet. On the bank of the river, rocks as tall as a small sky scraper tower over
us. There are eight of us in the raft, split up evenly along the sides of it. Our guide sits in the very back
with his single paddle, maneuvering the boat and watching out for hazards ahead. The raft we are in is
fairly old, but is still reliable. Gray patches are covering holes that were probably caused by hitting a
rock at a wrong angle. The boat is very sturdy and thick, but is extremely flexible in order to allow us
to easily pass over the different rapids. The boat maneuvers perfectly as if it were an amusement park
ride on a set track. The middle of the boat holds a box that contains various items such as extra gear
and a first aid kit in case of an emergency. The ride is rough and the boat is almost always jerking up
and down. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The water that is sprayed at us feels good against the heat of a West Virginia July. The guide looks
around for possible hazards and steers us away from them with the help of the paddle maneuvers we
had just learned an hour before. I look to my side and I can see a sharp steep cliff. I can squint my
eyes and actually see people rock climbing. It s something I can t see in Chicago. The color of the cliff
contrasts with the blue sky. Little metallic pieces of rock reflect off the sunlight and it makes it look
like the rock is sparkling. Above us is the New River Gorge Bridge. Almost 1000 feet in the air, it
watches us pass below

Battlefield Tactics in World War I
World War I would not be the war that it was if it weren t for its infamous tactics and strategies that
took place out on the battlefield. From mustard gas to light flares, World War I was filled with so
many different plans and tools. These tools helped some countries maneuver through the difficult tasks
of the war. War tactics, such as tunnelling, gases, tank attacks, and raids are what helped countries get
through the war.
Tunnelling was a technique used by Great Britain and Germany which consisted of placing mines up
to one hundred feet below the opposing sides trenches. This technique was very helpful because no

The tanks were extremely difficult to stop and they were very destructive, destroying everything in its
way. Although the tanks were an effective tool, the conditions inside of them were very bad. These
tanks needed to be placed in covered positions from which they can be brought up to assist
(Pidgeon)The placement of the tanks was very precise, it had to be because they were difficult to
maneuver. The tanks moved very slowly, but they could push through almost anything using the
caterpillar tracks to grip onto the ground beneath it. Tanks brought a new look on the war, with all of
this new technology, the soldiers decided to fight hard while they could. These tanks even, helped end
the stalemate of World War I trench warfare ( Tank Warfare ). Tanks helped spark some fight into the
soldiers, but it also showed them the great horrors of deadly

A Student Of Full Sail University
As a student of Full Sail University I am completing the course of Audio Production. Growing up
music was always an escape for me. My childhood was not perfect and sometimes the only thing I felt
that could help me escape reality was music. Knowing how to sing, rap, and produce music by the age

How Is Colonialism In Robinson Crusoe
Robinson Crusoe was published in 1719, it was the beginning of the 17th century that had magnificent
changes in the economic order. The rise of capitalism throughout the period individuals to a system of
evaluation that varied a little from aristocratic tradition. An individual s place in the society was
determined by the type of profession one does within the society. According to Seidel Robinson,
Crusoe represents a prototype of a culture, a religion and ideology (1991: 50). He is then portrayed as
a true Englishman who really loved to increase the English territory and its autonomy. He is the figure
of English imperialism, capitalism and more especially colonialism. According to Reinhart
colonialism in terms of a history of ideas constitutes a developmental differential due to the control of
one people by an alien or foreign one (2008:1).
Colonialism is not limited to a specific time or place. However, in the 16th century, colonialism
changed decisively because of technological developments in navigation that began to connect more
remote parts of the world. Quicker sailing ships made it possible to reach distant seaports and to
sustain close ties between the centre ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was unwilling to let the captain have him, but I was very loth to sell the poor boy s liberty, who had
assisted me so faithfully in procuring my own Defoe (1719:20). Slavery was a normal part of
European life in the 17th century when the novel Robinson Crusoe was written it was seen a fact
rather than a moral issue. One can notice that early in the book Crusoe himself is taken and traded into
slavery, but in his case he is treated well and manages to escape meaning he does not suffer
consequences of being a slave. He then decides that he cannot tolerate being made a slave but he fails
to apply this similar attitude to other

Boccaccio’s The Decameron Essay
The Decameron, by Boccaccio, is a frame story written in the mid fourteenth century. There are a
hundred stories told over a span of ten days. On the second day, a man tells a story about a princess,
Alatiel, who was sent away to marry a king. Before Alatiel reaches her destination, she has sexual
experiences with a lot of different men. Alatiel is treated like an object and allows this objectification
to happen because she is so fickle and does nothing to stop the men. The fickleness of Alatiel and the
treatment of her as an object is evident throughout the story.
The story starts off portraying Alatiel as an object when her father, the sultan of Babylon, promises her
hand to the king of Algarve (48). Alatiel has no say in who she ... Show more content on

2. What size orders would you schedule on the CNC drill? On the CNC router?
Time taken to process the orders depends on the selected drilling method either
a) Manual drilling or CNC OR b) Using CNC Drill
Assumption 1: Manual Drilling is not done on all the available Manual Drill Presses in parallel.
Calculating time taken for Manual drilling and CNC Drilling:
= Setup Time + Run Time (Per Hole) * No. of Holes drilled on each circuit board * No. of boards
Time taken for Manual drilling =15 + 0.08*500*x where x= number of circuit boards
Time taken for CNC drilling = 240 + 0.004*500*x where x= number of ... Show more content on

of Boards (n) Parallel Process allowed Manual Drill 6 n ≤ 56 No Parallel Processing CNC Drill n 56
CNC Drill
What Size orders can be scheduled on CNC Router?
Using the steps used in previous part, calculating the time taken by each method
Time taken for Punch Press =50 + x Time taken for CNC Router = 150+ 0.5x
To figure out whether CNC Router to be used,
50 + x ≥ 150+ 0.5x Hence x ≥ 200. [x= number of circuit boards]
Conclusion for CNC Router: n 200 Use Punch Press
Total no. of Boards (n) n 200 For Use CNC Router
3. Would you recommend adding another CNC drill? Perform a net present value calculation to help
make the decision. Price of the CNC machine is $80,000. The additional assumption we need to add to
assumption already given is that:
Arthur Dief will run all the small orders (8 circuit boards or less) and other boards will be done on a
CNC machine despite of the shop floor policy which states that only orders for more than 100 boards
be drilled on a CNC machine.
The company is currently using a CNC machine for orders for equal or greater than 140 boards due to
capacity of a CNC machine; however, they would be able to process all orders with CNC machines if
they add one more machine.
In this case, if we calculate the current cost in drilling process:

Lakota Woman Essay
Lakota Woman The book Lakota Woman, is an autobiography that depicts Mary Crow Dog and
Indians Lives. Because I only had a limited knowledge on Indians, the book was full of surprising
incidents. Moreover, she starts out her story by describing how her Indian friends died in miserable
and unjustifiable ways. After reading first few pages, I was able to tell that Indians were mistreated in
the same manners as African Americans by whites. The only facts that make it look worse are, Indians
got their land stolen and prejudice and inequality for them still exists. Just like other Indian kids on
reservation, Crow Dog s childhood was poor in everyway; didn t have enough food, clothes,
education, and parents love. She was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Crow Dog tried to fight against the school system and published newspapers, explaining how school is
treating them like slaves. She quit school but she somehow managed to get her diploma. Despite the
fact that she earned her diploma, Crow Dog was living aimlessly; drinking, drugs, stealing, and
running away from home. Many Indians spend their ADC check on those things because of the given
situation they are in. However, not every Indian spends the day boozed and stoned; like people of AIM
are trying to fight against the wrong system. She joins AIM where she finds Indians, living their lives
to the fullest to fight for their right. AIM changed her life in two big ways; she learned to fight not
only for herself but also for her own people and met her husband Leonard Crow Dog. As an AIM
person and Indian, she participates in many Indian activities such as BIA take over, the siege at
Wounded Knee, and many peyote meetings. She fights against dictator at Pine Ridge, which leads her
and AIM people to Wounded Knee where they stayed and fought for 71days. With very limited food
and weapon, they lasted 71 days with their spiritual strength. Peyote meetings and Ghost dance are
good examples that show Indians are very spiritual people. Despite all the double standard they have
faced all their lives, Indians survived and fought strong for their rights. Even though prejudice

For a shoujo series, Ao Haru Ride is surprisingly well structured based on its story. It has the look and

While the show doesn t characterize everyone at the same level, it s interesting to see how their lives
become interconnected through one and another. And through that, relationship are developed that can
be everlasting. The show also does well with its realism and wastes little time to flesh out what it s
trying to do with the premise. Indeed, the show doesn t stride far from where it begins as we see the
relationship development between Futaba and Kou. An issue might arise that makes the audience ask

Consultation Under the decision making procedure the commission gives its proposal to the

Why Did The Big Bang Happen
Energy cannot be created or destroyed so how did the Universe or anything start. There is a theory that
is called the Big Bang. There is a lot of evidence the Big Bang exploding. There are a lot of questions
that have not been answered yet. Also there is a lot of the Universe that has not been explored yet.
The most recent saying of the Big Bang is that it exploded. The Big Bang was a little dot somewhere
in the universe. In the middle of the dot there was a lot of heat. It was really hot that the people that
study the big bang say that it exploded because of the heat that was in the middle. They are also saying
that that space is what it is expanding. People who study the Big Bang say that there is something out

Liberal News Media Analysis
News sources are networks where many people are informed about important news event. Being
liberal bias about news networks is to be open to new opinions about an event and sometimes can be
given false information or misinterpretation about it. Having a conservative view about the news is
still having to hold to certain beliefs and values and being cautious about what changes are happening.
Many people get news from the six powers house news networks that are either liberal or
conservative. CBS, ABC, and NBC were the only news networks, since 1948, where people were able
to get the recent news happening and are now considered the mainstream news channels which also

decided to become a news network because since all the other six news networks were not telling the

International Market Analysis For A Growing Firm
Luigi Vittatoe Professor Stanley Klatka BUS1801 Global Business Perspectives October 5, 2015
International Business Paper Introduction For a growing firm, the international market represents one
of the avenues to achieve growth and expansion. The global market, through trade, has been an engine
of growth, for example, world trade has been growing at seven percent since 1945, becoming a
contributor to economic growth. The international market has facilitated global trade and the
integration of economies. Therefore, it has enabled countries to exploit its comparative advantage. The
following report looks at the international market entry strategies, reasons for selecting the topic, new
relevant materials learned facts about the topic and the unexpected facts relating to it. Reasons for
choosing the topic International market entry is important because it enables an organization to
increase its output and attract new customers. By expanding the customer base and the scale of
production, the business will be able to achieve economies of scale. That is, the organization can be
able to reduce the average cost per unit of production when the level of output is substantially
increased (Stephan and Roin 28). After international expansion, cost advantages and higher profit be
obtained through bulk purchasing, enjoying high turnover rate and paying lower interest rates on
loans. For the business firm to grow, it has to find new opportunities of expansion. The opportunity for

How Does Othello Change Throughout The Play
Shakespeare prided himself on being a writer for the people. Authors during his time were more
sophisticated and their plays never seemed to translate to a larger audience. Plays were perceived as
something only the wealthy and elite got to participate in. But Shakespeare changed all that when
began to include the public. He turned theater into something relatable with an emphasis on sex, love,
violence and a sort of crude humor. He made his characters real. They were ravished with flaws and
became naturally empathic as the play went on. To achieve this a certain basic human psychology has
to be applied. And though it did not have these labels yet, grit and mindset are things that makes these
characters so relatable. Grit is described ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Causes Of Collapse And Its Effects On The World s Most...
The small, isolated Rapa Nui Island or, Easter Island began its history of human habitation with
difficulty. Settlers were 3,000 kilometers away from other settlements, native plants and animals were
limited, and its geographic location make the island subject to El Nino s varying conditions (Hunt and
Lipo 2007). Despite obstacles unique to Rapa Nui, as compared to its Polynesian neighbors, the
people of Rapa Nui were successful before collapse, surviving as one of the world s most remote
human outposts (Hunt and Lipo 2012). The cause of collapse is, however (and, of course), a subject of
debate over whether natural or anthropogenic factors led to the Rapa Nui s downfall, and a lack of
evidence has stopped anthropologists from reaching a more conclusive agreement. A union of the two
overarching factors have been suggested, however combination of climatic and anthropogenic causes
have been merely hypothesized but not investigated (Louwagie 290). Evidence is present and
convincing on both sides, with layered explanations accounting for the rapid decline of a complex,
highly functioning society. While researchers such as Jared Diamond and Donald Hughes seek to
showcase Rapa Nui as a cautionary tale against the dangers of ecocide, and thus paralleling the
modern world, there is an equal pushback to frame the Rapa Nui population as a capable, adaptive,
and resilient people who were dealt a bad hand. This paper will explore the debate of Rapa Nui s

Literature And Songs Of Hebrew Literature
The people in mid 19th century, up until the beginning of 20th century, before the British .helped to
declare Israel a state; around Eastern Europe, the idea of nationality began to appear. Up until now,
Jewish people hadn t established a foundation that provided them with security; there was no real
place they could call home. Because they didn t have a place that was their own, other nations around
the world didn t view them as a nation, they were seen as individuals. Around this time, anti Semitism
began to emerge, it was time for the Jewish people to come together as one and let go of their past and
that desire drove them to a pivotal point in Jewish history. By analyzing different pieces of Hebrew
literature and songs that were written during this time in history, the evidence shows that the definition
of Jew changed and Jewish people started to look at themselves differently and gained confidence to
be a nation and not an individual. Avraham Shlonsky wrote a poem titled Tiller of the Soil
characterizes and defines the Jew and his/her hard work for the land and their passion for it. The way
Shlonsky uses the words and play on words emphasizes the point of a hard working Jew. One of the
lines that Shlonsky states is, Never before was the distance so small, Between man, And camel, And

also expresses the feeling they ve always hoped and prayed for. Shlonsky

opinion of Duolingo. Despite the assurance of anonymity, in an effort to appear to be a good student, a
responder might have exaggerated their love of learning vocabulary, and the use of Duolingo in

wise to extend this to individuals interacting with participants during questionnaires and interviews,

Novel and Black Africans
Write a critical analysis of Aphra Behn novella Oroonoko, paying special attention to the
representation of black Africans. What makes Oroonoko a positive character? Is he superior or inferior
to the whites in the novella? Oroonoko a Royal slave or a monstrous Negro I have a dream that my
four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin
but by the content of their character. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Eighteenth Century period) is Aphra Behn and her novella Oroonoko or the Royal slave. Although it is

Leon Trotsky
Leon Trotsky was born in Yanovka, Ukraine on November, 7, 1879. He s birth name was not Leon
Trotsky it was Lev Davidovich Bronshtein, the name his parents gave him but then he changed his
name. His parents were called David and Anna they were both prosperous Jewish farmers. A couple
months after he turned eighteen help put work into helping the South Russian Workers Union, he was
soon arrested within the first year of work. He then spent two more years in jail awaiting conviction
and then sent to Siberia to serve out a four year sentence. When he was in prison, he met a woman
with the name of Alexandra Lvovna. The two realized that they were put in the same prison on destiny

Trotsky had a great military record and administration, so to most in the Communist Party it became
obvious he was the one that needed to succeed Lenin, but he was offensive to the Politburo. A group
of Politburo member opposed Trotsky and sided with Joseph Stalin to overtake Trotsky. Lenin
appointed Stalin to the non admirable post of Central Committee General Secretary. Although this was
not a very high ranking post it still gave Stalin complete control over party member appointments.
Stalin grew his army very fast and built up his power with the same speed, then he started to lining up
allies against Trotsky. Lenin had no chosen a side or person to take over after he passed, but then he
had his third stroke and he passed away. Still undecided on who was going to take Lenin s place,
Stalin got to work on getting rid of Trotsky for good. Trotsky s power dwindled away with the help of
Stalin and his allies. Soon Trotsky was removed from the Central Committee and following his
expulsion he was exiled to the most remote place Stalin could find, Alma Ata. Stalin did not think that
banishing Stalin to Alma Ata was quite enough, he then eternally banished Stalin from the Soviet
Union. For the next decade Trotsky floated around with where he lived in three countries before he
decided to go to Mexico City. Trotsky s health began to start to dwindle away with time , but this

Concrete is used for many different things in daily life, although is often taken for granted. Concrete

purposes and uses and still does today.
Although, cement has been a naturally occurring substance that has been used by Egyptians, Chinese,

the earliest forms of concrete.() In the third century BCE, the Romans discovered that the mixing of

Family Law Reform
Law reform has been rather effective in catering to contemporary issues concerning family members
in a equal and accessible way. Although, the effectiveness of law reform relating to family members
has been slow to develop, the current quality of family law, which is guided by the means of the 1975
Family Law Act (FLA) has been affecting justice for family members. The effectiveness of family law
has changed a lot over time. The legislation that has been changed to ensure the effectiveness of the
family law system includes the reform of the family laws Property (Relationships) Legislation
Amendment Act 1999 (NSW), Family Provision Act 1982 (NSW) (now replaced by the Succession
Act 2006 (NSW), Family Law Amendment (Shared Parental Responsibility) ... Show more content on

This change in law achieves justice for most same sex couples, though there still are some couples
who are negatively affected by this changing issue. The issue of shared parental responsibility is
another issue that provides difficulty in achieving justice for the family law. There is a belief that
equal shared parental responsibility is in the best interest of the child although this may not always be
the case. An example of not achieving justice in this area is if a divorcing mother claims that her ex
husband is abusive and her husband should not gain any sort of custody of her children; if the mother
does not have any evidence to back this up, her abusive ex partner may gain custody of their children
and the mother doesn t. This in itself is a huge injustice for the mother and her children. The
contemporary issue of surrogacy and birth technologies has been a long and argumentative topic.
Some people may argue that a woman bearing a child for another couple is a sacrifice of their body,
while others view it as an unethical and damaging process for the child; saying that the child is denied
their birth parents. The laws relating to surrogacy differ in many countries but most countries agree on
commercial surrogacy, saying that it be illegal for a woman to be paid to give birth to someone else s
child. The responsibility of the care and protection of children lies with the child s parents. The
decisions regarding children may include the child s health, schooling, cultural upbringing and many
other factors. The protection of the children becomes a problem when the parents of the children may
not be able to provide adequate care and protection for their children, which is when the law will start
to intervene in various

The Utopian And Dystopian Texts
The Utopian and Dystopian texts represent the composer s reaction to the concerns they perceive in
their contemporary society, often presented in a flawed imaginary world. These concerns often reflect
the composer s thesis on the human condition, and as such, these texts generally seek to serve as a
rhetorical device that inspires its generation to question their own society. Thomas More s 1516
satirical novel Utopia, condemns the damaging leadership of King Henry VIII presented through the
contrasting nature of England in Book: 1 and the imperfect Utopia in Book: 2. Andrew Niccol s film;
Gattaca (1997) addresses the controversial invention of genetically produced test tube babies, by
envisioning a world with a new elite based on genetic superiority. Bong Joon Ho s Snowpiercer (2013)
takes place aboard the globe spanning Snowpiercer train, which holds the last remnants of humanity
and provides an allegory of class culture and social disparity due to the fact that each of the carriage
holds a specific social class. All three texts while commenting on different social issues address the
concerns that the composer felt was the greatest flaw in their contemporary society.
Utopia gives a subtle voice to More s scathing critiques on greedy incompetence of King Henry VIII,
by presenting controversial solutions implemented in utopian societies such as Utopia and Tallstoria,
in the hope of creating a real debate on More s fundamental concerns in his society. While Book 1

The Use Of Religious Symbols In Public Schools
The art teacher would be fine, as long as he or she is using the Last Supper for instructional purposes
and not to promote religion. Most teachers struggle, and have a hard time dealing with religious
symbols in public schools. In order to understand it better, one must look closely at the first
amendment and how it relates to public schools. From my understanding, and through various court
rulings, the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment states that public schools are not allowed to
promote religion or antireligious beliefs, but teachers can use religious symbols to teach their content,
as long as it is tied to their academic objectives and are not purposely trying to influence students to
believe in certain religion.

If public school educators are ever in doubt as to whether they are violating the First Amendment, they
must ask these two questions: Is the purpose of this project to teach the curriculum and meet the
objectives? What will be the primary effect on students after I teach using religious objects, and am I
influencing them in any way? In the case of the art teacher and using the Last Supper, I would suggest
doing the Lemon test. First, I would ask the teacher what is the purpose of using the Last Supper. If
the purpose is to study historical art and maybe they are looking at Da Vinci s work, I would suggest
the teacher is in the right place. It is the teacher s responsibility to set this clear with the students. The
teacher who thinks is not ethical, should ask a student why they are studying The Last Supper, based
on the student response, one can determine the

Characterisation Of Crooks
Of Mice and Men, set in 1930 s America is a fictional novella about the plight of ranch workers during
the Great Depression. One of the central themes in this piece is loneliness, and Crooks could be
viewed as the most isolated character in the novella. The character of Crooks is enhanced by him
being a man of colour, making him a victim of prejudice and racism. Steinbeck uses structure in of
Mice and Men to present Crooks as an intriguing character. The reader doesn t meet Crooks properly
until Chapter 4 but hear of him through the other ranch workers, so they re forced to judge Crooks
even before anything is known about him in detail. Steinbeck does this to stress the prejudice towards
people of colour in the 1930 s and how they would be judged by skin not personality. In chapter two,
the reader hears of Crooks in the conversation between Candy and George, as they discuss the boss s
anger at George s and Lennie s late arrival to the ranch. Candy says the boss gave the stable buck hell ,

after Lennie enters Crooks shed, Crooks talks about how Lennie s got no right to come in my room.

Truman Capote and Postmodernism
Truman Capote, as obsessed with fame and fortune as with penning great words, was a writer who
became as well known for his late night talk show appearances as for his prose (Patterson 1). Capote
was a literary pop star at the height of his fame in 1966, after he had written such classic books as,
Other Rooms, Other Voices, Breakfast at Tiffany s, and In Cold Blood. Postmodernism was a literary
period that began after the Second World War and was a rejection of traditional writing techniques. It
used fragmented sentences and questionable narrators, as well as many other unconventional
techniques, to break the previous barriers of literature. Truman Capote was a major player in the
postmodern game, using his own broken childhood to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Capote validates Smith for trying to break out of the social mold of the problem child . Capote is also
indifferent towards the lives of the Clutters. Mr. Clutter couldn t escape Perry Smith s stereotype of
him as the self righteous tormentor and therefore could not escape Smith s revenge on the society that
shunned him. The motifs that capote uses in this novel were the animals that he featured in it. The
animals that Capote mentions in this book are weak and defenseless, and they symbolize the
defenselessness of Smith and even of Capote. Capote was frustrated with societies condemnation of
people outside the social norms, and it show in this book through his pessimistic point of view. He
feels contempt for the pious Clutter family because they represented the type of people that abandoned
him as a child. If Capote s mission for In Cold Blood was to create an unbiased account of what took
place during the murder of the Clutter family and other facts the surround the event, then he failed
because his opinion is quite clear throughout the entire book (Kim np). I Agree with Lydia Kim s
opinion of how Capote s so called non fiction novel was laced with his opinions and strong emotional
connection with Perry Smith. After reading several biographical essays on Truman Capote, and
reading an excerpt of In Cold Blood, it became clear that Capote was a very opinionated character
who would often say what was on his mind, whether it was an

Equal Employment Opportunity ( Eeo )
Phase 3 Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
Critical Thinking Questions:
How will you ensure your company is an EEO Employer?
As with our student population, we at the Northwestern Academy believe our teachers and faculty
should be as talented as possible. This is the reason that qualifications are the primary consideration
when considering potential applicants for our faculty. Race, religion, sex and gender will not be
factors in who is hired. However, diversity not only brings advantages in terms of educational
benefits, but it also can spur a sense of creativity in the minds of our students and faculty. Because of
this, we will provide clear information to our all of our candidates over a broad range of mediums to
find many different types of candidates. Even though a portion of our professors come from
Northwestern University, some will come from outside of the Northwestern system, and we require
these candidates to be just as qualified as the ones that come from within the Northwestern system.
A point of differentiation between Northwestern Academy and other schools is that our professor
turnover rate is slightly higher than the industry average (due to professors advancing in the world of
academia). This will lead to a constantly changing faculty. The interview process will be the same for
all applicants, and will thus help us make decisions primarily based on an applicant s qualifications,
and help us maintain a talent standard in terms of faculty. Examples of

Ronda Rousey Research Paper
Women s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, will defend her belt against Holly Holm in the
main event of UFC 195. Rousey made the announcement during her appearance on Good Morning
America on Friday. She also noted the date for the fight as January 2nd. In addition, it has been
confirmed that the showdown is going to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden
Center. The fight is also the only one on the UFC 195 card thus far. The announcement shocked many
in the MMA community who thought the third installment of Ronda Rousey v. Meisha Tate was a
foregone conclusion. Rousey did say however that she considers Holm her best competition yet.

Rousey is, however, taking a a different kind of opponent in Holm and it will be interesting to see how
she tackles this new challenge. Ronda will no doubt be the favorite, but this fight has a different
dynamic. Meanwhile, Holly Holm, a relative newcomer to the sport, began taking MMA fights in
2011 and wasn t even in the UFC until 2014. Holm posted an impressive boxing career before moving
her focus to MMA, with a record of 33 2 3 in the ring. She has an undefeated 9 0 record in MMA and
is just 2 0 in the UFC. Holm will hope to use her punches from her experience in boxing to keep
Rousey at bay long enough for her endurance to make an impact. At one point, Holm was seen as the
potential biggest threat to Ronda Rousey, because of her excellent striking abilities. However, after
failing to live up to that potential in her first two fights in the UFC, expectations have seen a steady

Muscles Upper Arm
The muscles of your shoulder are strongly involved whenever you throw a punch. Your anterior
deltoids, located on the front of your shoulders, work with your pectoralis major muscles to push your
arm out towards the opponent. Once you have hit the opponent, your middle trapezius, rhomboids and
latissimus dorsi draw your arm back ready for you to throw another punch.
The Muscles of the Upper Arm
Extending your arm is down to your triceps brachii. This is located on the rear of your upper arm, and
is the powerful muscle that quickly pushes your elbow out so that you can reach your opponent. Your
biceps brachii which are located on the front of your upper arm, are responsible for bending your
elbow as you pull your arm back into your original guard position again, ready to throw more
punches. In the upper arm there is a pair of muscles which work together to perform these movements;
the biceps being the antagonist as it relaxes during an extension of an arm which means the triceps is
the agonist as it tenses. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Raft Descriptive Writing The white water crushes against the boat, almost as if it was waiting for us to make a wrong paddle movement. The rapid we were going over was told to be considered a 5 and extremely dangerous. One wrong move and you could get sucked under the rough water. High waves keep crashing against our raft, keeping us constantly wet. On the bank of the river, rocks as tall as a small sky scraper tower over us. There are eight of us in the raft, split up evenly along the sides of it. Our guide sits in the very back with his single paddle, maneuvering the boat and watching out for hazards ahead. The raft we are in is fairly old, but is still reliable. Gray patches are covering holes that were probably caused by hitting a rock at a wrong angle. The boat is very sturdy and thick, but is extremely flexible in order to allow us to easily pass over the different rapids. The boat maneuvers perfectly as if it were an amusement park ride on a set track. The middle of the boat holds a box that contains various items such as extra gear and a first aid kit in case of an emergency. The ride is rough and the boat is almost always jerking up and down. ... I can squint my eyes and actually see people rock climbing. It s something I can t see in Chicago. The color of the cliff contrasts with the blue sky. Little metallic pieces of rock reflect off the sunlight and it makes it look like the rock is sparkling. Above us is the New River Gorge Bridge. From mustard gas to light flares, World War I was filled with so many different plans and tools. These tools helped some countries maneuver through the difficult tasks of the war. War tactics, such as tunnelling, gases, tank attacks, and raids are what helped countries get through the war. The rise of capitalism throughout the period individuals to a system of evaluation that varied a little from aristocratic tradition. An individual s place in the society was determined by the type of profession one does within the society. According to Seidel Robinson, Crusoe represents a prototype of a culture, a religion and ideology (1991: 50). He is then portrayed as a true Englishman who really loved to increase the English territory and its autonomy. He is the figure of English imperialism, capitalism and more especially colonialism. According to Reinhart colonialism in terms of a history of ideas constitutes a developmental differential due to the control of one people by an alien or foreign one (2008:1). Colonialism is not limited to a specific time or place. After reading first few pages, I was able to tell that Indians were mistreated in the same manners as African Americans by whites. She joins AIM where she finds Indians, living their lives to the fullest to fight for their right. AIM changed her life in two big ways; she learned to fight not only for herself but also for her own people and met her husband Leonard Crow Dog. As an AIM person and Indian, she participates in many Indian activities such as BIA take over, the siege at Wounded Knee, and many peyote meetings. She fights against dictator at Pine Ridge, which leads her and AIM people to Wounded Knee where they stayed and fought for 71days. With very limited food and weapon, they lasted 71 days with their spiritual strength. Peyote meetings and Ghost dance are good examples that show Indians are very spiritual people. Reasons for choosing the topic International market entry is important because it enables an organization to increase its output and attract new customers. By expanding the customer base and the scale of production, the business will be able to achieve economies of scale. That is, the organization can be able to reduce the average cost per unit of production when the level of output is substantially increased (Stephan and Roin 28). Authors during his time were more sophisticated and their plays never seemed to translate to a larger audience. Plays were perceived as something only the wealthy and elite got to participate in. But Shakespeare changed all that when began to include the public. He turned theater into something relatable with an emphasis on sex, love, violence and a sort of crude humor. He made his characters real. They were ravished with flaws and became naturally empathic as the play went on. To achieve this a certain basic human psychology has to be applied. Despite obstacles unique to Rapa Nui, as compared to its Polynesian neighbors, the people of Rapa Nui were successful before collapse, surviving as one of the world s most remote human outposts (Hunt and Lipo 2012). The cause of collapse is, however (and, of course), a subject of debate over whether natural or anthropogenic factors led to the Rapa Nui s downfall, and a lack of evidence has stopped anthropologists from reaching a more conclusive agreement. A union of the two overarching factors have been suggested, however combination of climatic and anthropogenic causes have been merely hypothesized but not investigated (Louwagie 290). Up until now, Jewish people hadn t established a foundation that provided them with security; there was no real place they could call home. Because they didn t have a place that was their own, other nations around the world didn t view them as a nation, they were seen as individuals. Around this time, anti Semitism began to emerge, it was time for the Jewish people to come together as one and let go of their past and that desire drove them to a pivotal point in Jewish history. By analyzing different pieces of Hebrew literature and songs that were written during this time in history, the evidence shows that the definition of Jew changed and Jewish people started to look at themselves differently and gained confidence to be a nation and not an individual. Avraham Shlonsky wrote a poem titled Tiller of the Soil characterizes and defines the Jew and his/her hard work for the land and their passion for it. The issue of shared parental responsibility is another issue that provides difficulty in achieving justice for the family law. There is a belief that equal shared parental responsibility is in the best interest of the child although this may not always be the case. An example of not achieving justice in this area is if a divorcing mother claims that her ex husband is abusive and her husband should not gain any sort of custody of her children; if the mother does not have any evidence to back this up, her abusive ex partner may gain custody of their children and the mother doesn t. This in itself is a huge injustice for the mother and her children. The contemporary issue of surrogacy and birth technologies has been a long and argumentative topic. Some people may argue that a woman bearing a child for another couple is a sacrifice of their body, while others view it as an unethical and damaging process for the child; saying that the child is denied their birth parents. The laws relating to surrogacy differ in many countries but most countries agree on commercial surrogacy, saying that it be illegal for a woman to be paid to give birth to someone else s child. The responsibility of the care and protection of children lies with the child s parents.
