Philadelphia, had been a normal flight but, just after receiving clearance to land on runway 27R,

The difference in attitude and treatment towards men and women from society is shown in Young
Goodman Brown ,in this case, I am going to analyze the anti feminist side. There are multiple
points in this short story that aid my point. The author, Nathaniel Hawthorne may have written this
based on his time when differences towards genders occurred. Women are portrayed as powerless
but rather innocent victims while men are seen as the more powerful individuals, making all the

Kateri Tekakwitha was born in 1656 to an Algonquian mother and Mohawk father. Tekakwitha
was the name given by her Mohawk people. It translates to she who bumps into things. She was

the daughter of Kenneronkwa, a Mohawk chief, and Tagaskouita, an Algonquin woman. Mohawk

The Moral Obligation Of Affluent Individuals
The question on whether affluent individuals have a moral obligation to assist the poor is a
widely controversial subject, and this was even apparent in our very own ethical reasoning class.
So the question still stands, is it our duty to assist the poor? The answer is much simpler than
people make it out to be. Yes.
While this answer is widely based of off my own opinion as well as those of Peter Singer, I am
prepared to defend my answer not only with the Singers evidence but also with my own thoughts
and motives. But I don t believe that only the rich should feel the moral obligation to assist the
poor, I believe everyone should do whatever we can to help one another. I do not believe that
people should be forced into helping one another by laws and government authorities, but instead
that it is the simply the right thing to do. First off I am going to explain the details of Singers
argument for the moral obligation of affluent individuals to assist the poor. Singer basis his
argument off utilitarian grounds, so generally promoting whatever promotes the most happiness for
the most people. Here are Singers three main premises. First, if we have the power to prevent
something bad from happening without having to sacrifice too much then morally we should do it.
Second, poverty is the number one source of human misery. And third, those who are well off have

In the middle 19th century Germany was going through difficult changes. Germany was going
through a change of leadership and a change in the economy during this time ( History of Germany
). Many great men and women decided to make the great journey to a new nation to make a name
for themselves and their families.
Marianne Kim is my fourth great grandmother arrived from Germany in the 19th century to New
Orleans, Louisiana with her family. To get to America they went from Baden, Germany to Le
Havre, France from there they got on the boat and started there long journey to America. Once in
America she started to live her new life and in 1838 she married her husband John Teufel Devil
Harvey. Four months later there first son was born. Over the next fifteen years she had eight more
children, Elizabeth, Marin, Rosanna, George, Mary, Joseph, Catherine, and Celestine. Out of the
nine children Elizabeth and Martin died in 1850. In 1853 during the birth of her youngest Celestine
Marianne died. Marianne s fifth born daughter Mary went on married Edward F. Schilling.
Edward F. Schilling was born in 1847 in the town of Nordrhein Westfalen, Germany where he
