2. What do distributors do?
The distribution stage is between production and the exhibition.
The distributor is a company which deals with the theatrical release of
a film and the marketing andpromotion of films for home viewing.
They have to finance and organise the rights for the film and for
advertising and prints, choose a release date and the cinemas for
exhibitions as well as setting up the promotion by sending out
trailers/posters.
The distributor has commercial rights of films sothey have to sell
rights to not only the cinema but DVDs and television.

3. Choosing a distributor?
Write of Passage fits into the genre Mystery Thriller asthe film deals with an
older female teenager who hassplit personality disorder and whilst one side
of her is naïve to it the other commits murders and plans these murders by
writing a diary hence the name ‘Write’ of Passage. The mystery aspect is
buildthrough the murder mystery and crime solving.
So we needed a distribution company that would fit the mystery thriller
genre and have similar aspects to the story and characters
