There are numerous reasons for the American Red Cross (ARC) ethical dilemmas.
First, the ARC has a history of mismanagement of money for both executives
salaries and monetary donations. The ARC has a history of awarding generous
severance packages, even to ousted executives with short tenures (Ferrell, Freidrich,
Ferrell, 2015). Additionally, we have learned from numerous disasters where the
ARC misappropriated monetary donations. For example, in Laura Sullivan s

Reliable DNA analysis is also important in the management of wild life. In the case
of Wedrowicz, the koala population is being threatened and the need for data on
their genetic diversity is of extreme importance. However obtaining the DNA from
the koala is not a simple task, this is due to cost, stress, and ethics of capturing a
koala. Sometimes the only way to obtain a sample of DNA is by the collection of
scats. This means that once the DNA sample is obtained it must be rushed to the lab

For this experiment, nucleophilic substitution was first observed. The 2 methyl 2
butanol was converted into 2 chloro 2 methylbutane by using an SN1 reaction. The
alcohol on the 2 methyl 2 butanol was a tertiary alcohol. To form a good leaving
group since the hydroxide ion is a bad leaving group, the tertiary alcoholwas
protonated with HCl, but since it consists of a fully substituted carbon atom from the
carbon oxygen bond, an SN2 displacement cannot occur. Therefore, water is the
leaving group that disassociates and leaves a relatively stable tertiary carbocation
behind. From HCl, the chloride anion is a good nucleophile, and this adds to the
available carbocation forming a carbon chlorine bond and thus 2 chloro 2

HCl. These two chemicals were swirled together to combine them. A glass stopper

high vapor pressure which causes there to be a pressurized system. This is
dangerous because the buildup of pressure can cause the glass to break and HCl to
get everywhere. HCl is a very strong acid which is extremely dangerous upon
contact. After this, the separatory funnel was placed back into the ring stand, the
glass stopper was removed, and the bottom aqueous layer that separated was
drained into an Erlenmeyer flask. The separatory funnel was placed such that the
bottom was resting on the top of the receiving flask to avoid spills. Then sodium
bicarbonate was slowly added, and some gas was produced. The funnel was
swirled until the bubbling ceased and the glass stopper was put on. The same
process from before with inverting and venting was repeated. After this, the
separatory funnel was placed back into the ring stand, the glass stopper was
removed, and the bottom aqueous layer was drained into the same Erlenmeyer
flask as before. Some bubbling occurred when combining, so it was drained slowly.
These extracts were waste. A second wash was performed with sodium chloride
solution and the third was performed with distilled water. The organic layer was
drained into a clean Erlenmeyer flask and four spatulas of anhydrous sodium sulfate
were added to the solution. The solution was swirled for about fifteen seconds.

somewhat chronological order, first asking the interviewee to describe their first
childhood best friend, then inquiring if they could recall at what age themselves or
their peers started participating in mature, adolescent activities.
My interviews were conducted over the phone with two women whom I could not
imagine my life without. My first interview was with my childhood best friend, now
19 years old, whom I met at eight years old after I moved to Haines from Fairbanks,
