Essay About Crimes
Writing an essay on the topic of crimes can be an intricate and challenging task, demanding a
delicate balance between objectivity and empathy. The subject matter itself is broad and
multifaceted, encompassing various types of offenses, their causes, societal impacts, and
potential solutions. The complexity lies in navigating through this intricate web of information to
construct a coherent and insightful essay.
To begin with, the sheer diversity of crimes presents a daunting challenge. From white-collar
crimes to violent offenses, each category requires a unique approach and understanding.
Researching and comprehending the nuanced aspects of different criminal activities demands
time and patience. Moreover, delving into the sociological, psychological, and economic factors
that contribute to criminal behavior adds another layer of complexity to the writing process.
Another hurdle is maintaining a balanced perspective. It is crucial to present a fair and unbiased
view while discussing crimes and their repercussions. Striking the right chord between empathy
for the victims and understanding the circumstances that lead to criminal actions can be a
delicate task. Tackling sensitive issues without falling into the trap of oversimplification or
generalization requires finesse and a nuanced approach.
The task is further complicated by the ever-evolving nature of crime in society. Staying abreast
of the latest trends, technological advancements, and legislative changes is essential to provide
an up-to-date and relevant analysis. This dynamic aspect of the subject demands constant
revision and adjustment of the essay's content to ensure its accuracy and timeliness.
In addition, crafting a compelling narrative that engages the reader and maintains their interest
throughout is no easy feat. It requires a skillful use of language, an effective structure, and a
coherent flow of ideas. Balancing the gravity of the topic with an accessible writing style is a
challenge that demands careful consideration.
In conclusion, writing an essay on crimes involves navigating through a complex landscape of
information, maintaining objectivity, and addressing the dynamic nature of the subject. It
requires a blend of research skills, empathy, and effective communication. Despite the
difficulties, it is an endeavor worth undertaking to contribute to a better understanding of this
critical societal issue.

Examples Of Extrinsic Motivation
Topic: What is intrinsic motivation? With people so used to monetary rewards and
other extrinsic motivation, how do managers use intrinsic motivation methods to
motivate staff?
Introduction
Work motivation can be defined as the psychological forces within a person that
determine an employee s behavior in an organization, effort level, and persistence in
the face of obstacles (Kanfer, 1990). In simple words, motivation determines why an
employee acts a certain way.
Most managers agree that employee motivation can be subdivided into intrinsic and
extrinsic motivation (Staw, 1976). Per Amabile (1993), an employee is said to be
intrinsically motivated when they seek enjoyment, interest, satisfaction of curiosity,
self expression, or personal challenge in the work. While employees are extrinsically
motivated when they engage in the work to obtain some goal that is apart from the
work itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For a long time, managers have been known to focus on the use of financial
rewards aspect of extrinsic motivation to motivate their employees, but this method
seems to be failing, as only 13% of employees worldwide are engaged at work , as
per Gallup s study on 142 countries, (Crabtree, 2013).
This report aims to study how extrinsic motivation methods are less relevant and
instead, managers must focus on intrinsic motivation methods. This is done by
largely studying The Google Way of managing employees, and study the effectiveness

Have you ever thought about any of the main people in the Renaissance? Is there
any that stood out to you for their hard work? There were many successful and
inspiring people during the Renaissance of 1400 s and 1500 s. This paper will
show how Isabella D Este earned her name and is now recognized as one of the most
famous patron of the arts from the Renaissance.
Isabella D Este was born on May 18, 1474 into a ruling family which was when it all
began. She was married at the age of sixteen to Francesco Gonzaga and was just as
intelligent as him. Marrying Francesco got her into the part of her life when she
really started to spark. Due to her marrying him she was seen as an upper official

As Isabella grew in the field of politics, she became a very influential person. She
began to make wiser, more intelligent and deeper decisions than she would ve made
before she was known as one of the greatest patrons today. With all those great
characteristics, Isabella left a huge image for people to look up to as long as today.
Isabella D Este is known for all her efforts to help others improve the Renaissance
with anything she could do to help. The activities of Isabella d Este (1474 1539),
Marchesa of Mantua, speak differently to different generations of scholars, whose
many responses to her patronage and collecting of art have ranged from hero
worship to scorn (Cockram, 606). She brought energy, intelligence and judgement
to literature while mastering two different languages and following in the steps of
ancient scholars who made a big impact. As a result of this, she promoted many
works of literature and changed the way of writing back then. Many of Isabella s
ideas were very unique only because she was one of the First Lady s to speak out her
opinion. Many of the women were too afraid and Isabella took a stand and stayed true
to her thoughts and dreams. In light of the instability of female power in sixteenth
century courts, women who collected works of art, like Isabella, needed to tread
carefully in their collecting practices by engaging in patronage activities that
demonstrated the cultivation of their court, but in a manner that remained
unthreatening to
Why Is Julia Gilleard Important
Introduction Julia Gillard is a former politician and was the 27th Prime Minister of
Australia. She was also the first female Prime Minister ever elected in Australia.
Julia was born in Wales, Great Britain and immigrated to South Australia in 1966.
She grew up attending school and university in Adelaide and moved to Melbourne
in 1982. In Melbourne she completed her Law Arts degrees and worked as a
representative, later she became President for the Australian Union of Students. In
1987 after graduating from Melbourne University, Julia joined a law firm called
Slater Gordon and 3 years later at the age of 29 she was made a partner. In 1996,
Julia decided to leave the law firm and went into politics, joining the Labor party.

as Deputy Prime Minister she worked together with the US secretary of education
on education reform and also introduced a law called Fair Work Australia . In 2010
Kevin Rudd resigned as Prime Minister after losing the support of his colleagues in
the Labor Party. Kevin had tried to introduce a super tax on mining industries which
caused bad publicity and bad feelings within the party. Julia Gillard challenged
Kevin Rudd for the leadership of the Prime Minister position. During the challenge,
the Labor Party resulted in a hung parliament where no party had the majority of
seats. Julia formed a partnership with the Green Party and other parties in order to
establish a working government and made history by becoming the first female Prime

Essay on New Billing Business Network Proposal
New Billing Business Network Proposal
David Moser
Strayer University
CIS 175 Introduction to Networking
My neighbor comes to me about a small startup billing business, he requires an
information technology design specification that will meet a tight budget $5000.00.
Included in the business requirements are two workstations, Internet access, one
printer, multiple email addresses, basic security, and a maintenance cost ceiling of
$200.00 per month. I have made the following proposal to my neighbor to meet his
IT needs.
To ensure maximum flexibility and reliability I recommend that the network be
configured as a wireless only network. The number of devices is relatively small; two
workstations, one printer and one router ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Microsoft Office 2007 is recommended for compatibility with other businesses, as
Microsoft Office is the business standard for office document formats. For the same
reason Adobe Acrobat is recommended for all documents that will be published as
read only or as forms with active fields. Norton Internet Security is recommended
with a 3 year subscription for updates to protect against malware. A UPS (one for
each workstation) will protect both hardware and software from the common
occurrence of power dips and surges that can cause damage and require maintenance
and repair. The cost for each workstation with all the items I have discussed is
$1500.00 U.S.
In order to save on monthly expenses and decrease maintenance costs I recommend
sourcing both of these requirements from the same vendor. An ADSL premium
service will meet the needs of the new business while also staying below the
monthly budget constraints. It will provide Internet access at a bandwidth of 6
Mbps download and 768 Kbps upload which will cover the needs of a small
business that uses the Internet for primarily email. This service includes a main
email account and up to 10 sub accounts however I recommend adding the Business
Email service from AT T which features 25 email addresses and a domain name for
the business that will properly identify the new business to existing and future
customers
Jonathan Edwards
In the 1740s the Puritan faith experienced mass revival. A major pillar in said
revival was the sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards.
It was a message so frightening, hysteria was reported amongst its audience. Besides
being the trope maker of fire and brimstone sermons, what made it so effective?
Three things: the delivery of the message, the analogies and examples throughout the
speech, and Edwards use of human psychology to sway his audience to his goal.
One of the causes of this sermon s effectiveness was Edwards deliverance. He is
said to have delivered his message in a calm, level manner and did not employ drama
techniques to stir up his audience. Obviously his message did not suffer from
employing this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edwards prevented this outcome by using gripping analogies and clear examples.
The analogies used painted a picture of God s wrath in a way the audience could
understand it and the hopelessness of continued sin without repentance ( Spider s
web to fallen rock , wrath compared to heavy storm clouds , great waters and
floodgates , etc.). His examples used to make the fears realer by supplying evidence
(the sudden ruin of neighbors, Sodom) and proof of repentance goodness (various
neighbors, countrymen). These examples and analogies showcase Edwards
manipulative strength: the final pillar.
Edwards weaponized an understanding of the human mind and spirituality to breach
his congregation s mind and heart for God. He knew that his audiences behaviors and
attitudes and brought them to the light using guilt held for self righteousness and sin,
human demand for justice you shall not suffer beyond what strict justice requires ,
and the bandwagon technique ( a day wherein many are flocking to him and many...
now in happy state ). Edwards successfully exploited human doubt of situation and
fear of hell. This fear brutal self examination of the audience, which is what made the
sermon so

This makes it a center of businesses, meetings, and conventions. Moreover, the city
is very compact and the transportation makes it very easy to travel around. Because
of its diverse environment, Geneva is the most ideal place to open an international
food restaurant such as Irish restaurant. Moreover, it is easier to operate an Irish
restaurant in Geneva than other cities in Switzerland. Employees in the city are
also used to working with people from distinct backgrounds. Another benefit is that
people in Geneva tend to equally accept other national customs as the local s. It
will be less difficult to promote international food in such city than those which are
hardly exposed to multi cultures. In fact, more than 1,200 cuisines are from all
over the world (Republic and State of Geneva: Department of Economy and Health,
2009). Not only does Geneva have high potential demand due to its high traffic, but
also it consists of many groups of people whom the Restaurant can penetrate. The
demand of the Restaurant can be categorized into two groups, the locals and the
tourists. To clarify each group, the locals are people who reside in Switzerland and
the tourists are those who travel from other countries. Among the locals are many
Irish people. Number of Irish associations, for instance the Geneva Irish Association
and the Irish Folk, indicates that there are specific or direct groups of demand for the

School
In New Zealand, children are required, by law, to attend school from ages six to
sixteen. In these ten compulsory years, children are crammed full of knowledge.
Learning Mathematics, Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages, and Arts is a daily
occurrence; a parent looking at this curriculum might think their child is receiving a
well rounded and varied education. But is schoolreally preparing students for real life?
After ten years at school (or sometimes less if granted an exception) our little
wonders are released into the world to get jobs, own houses, and raise families of
their own. Clearly, New Zealand s Education Department believes that, in just ten
short years, students are completely equipped with all the skills and knowledge ...

What about classes that teach our students how to be mentally healthy and remain
positive?
Even if we did have these classes it wouldn t benefit our kids because they re not
attending school. Every single day across the country in 2016, around 76,000
students were absent from class and according to OECD statistics, enrollment rates
are going down and 7% of fifteen to nineteen year olds are not enrolled in any form
of education, training, or employment. This is not good. We, as a nation, are losing
our motivation to learn.
In New Zealand, there are many various programs set up to help high school
dropouts and many apprenticeships advertised through schools for those who are
struggling academically. And whilst this is still necessary if we want to continue to
fight unemployment and homelessness, perhaps New Zealand needs to develop a
love of learning. Perhaps these programs offer a cushion for failure.
So if our culture doesn t offer the opportunity for success, how can we make a
change?
I looked towards two successful schooling systems Finland and South Korea.
In Finland, teachers are highly trained and highly respected. To become a primary
school teacher, you must complete a five year master s degree and are given
complete freedom to use all the knowledge they have acquired over those five years.
Also, high quality schools and teachers are offered to all students, regardless of
ability or financial status. Teachers are respected as
Why Should Kids Become Adults At 18
Why should kids become adults at 18?
Well at that age they are starting to make the choices of an adult, so the should be
known as one. we should be known as an adult at this age because we can make the
decisions of an adult. We are mature enough to be an adult.
At 18 we are showing that we are mature enough to make the decisions of an adult.
Julie Beck wrote the mature age of an adult is 18, science has proven that. What she
means is that science has shown that we can be mature adults at 18. This paragraph
proves my point on the FACT that we are mature enough at 18 to become an adult.
18 is definitely old enough to vote. At 18 we start paying more attention to the world
around us, including politics. We should be able to vote at 18.

How Hunger Can Be Reduced in the United States Essay
How can hunger be reduced in the United States? In order to reduce hunger, every
possible cause must be addressed. Climate changes, natural disasters, wars, and
lack of aid are just a few causes of hunger and food insecurity. These issues can be
dealt with nationally and locally. Nationally, there need to be programs and
policies in place that give access to resources and the ability to sustain those
efforts. To reduce hunger in local communities, more support needs to be given to
farmers and markets, and there always needs to be access to food and aid. There are
national aid programs like SNAP, UN World Food Programme, and Feeding America,
trying to reduce hunger by providing access to food, resources, and the means to

The most important food aid program in the nation is SNAP, supplemental nutritional
assistance. It helped nearly 46.6 million people in 2012. It has an incredible impact
on poverty in the United States. Helped to decrease the number of poor people in
America in 2011. A lot of people think that because SNAP is fairly generous with
the benefit it gives, that it gives some people no incentive to work. Contrary to
popular belief, though, SNAP does not give enough aid for someone to live
comfortable without having a job. To many, SNAP is a temporary help when the
income for the household is low ( HUNGER ). More than 1 billion people in the
world right now are suffering from hunger. Food security is the access by all people
at all times to the food needed for a healthy life, as defined by the UN Food and
Agriculture Organization. There are four points to food security, which are
availability, access, utilization, and stability. When one or even all these points
are missing, it is described as food insecurity. The rise of food prices in 2008
shocked and affected millions of people, many of whom were very poor. Because
of the rise of food prices, there were protests and hunger was put at the top of the
list, although it did not stay there. Science has to understand how to deal with hunger
as the problem grows. Using scientific research and changing policies can have a
huge impact on the issue of hunger. Population is
Theme Of Alienation In A Thousand Splendid Suns
In A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini, and Master Harold ...and the
boys, by Athol Fugard, alienation is definitely one of the most apparent themes
because in both books the main characters are always told that they are different
like when Mariam is called harami and when Sam and Willy are discriminated by
Hally. In both of these texts, the main characters are alienated in a way that made
them feel so different to the point where it affected their lives because they always
felt like they are incapable. In A Thousand Splendid Suns, after Mariam was
always called a harami, meaning bastard in Arabic, by Nana, she always thought
that this small thing somehow made her incapable of going to school and other
simple things in life. In Master Harold ...and the boys, Sam and Willie, mainly
Sam, was always being discriminated by Hally. Due to this, Hally made Sam feel
like he was incapable of doing certain things, like winning a dance competition.
These examples of alienation and much more are evident in both texts and actually
change the meaning of the story because it influences the way the characters act
and live their lives. This depends on how the characters are treated, and what they
are made to feel like they can not do. Starting off with A Thousand Splendid Suns,
Mariam was always called a Harami by her mother. After constantly hearing this
while growing up, Mariam thought that it was a big deal because that is the reason
she is unable to live with or see
Analysis of the Movie Doctor Zhivago Essay
Analysis of the Movie Doctor Zhivago
Doctor Zhivago is a historically accurate movie. It is a love story that takes place
during the Russian Revolution, World War One, and the Russian Civil War. Doctor
Zhivago is historically correct because of the events it represents, the people the
actors portray, and the level of detail put into the setting. At the beginning of the
movie, there is a scene showing a man handing out flyers asking workers to join
him in a peaceful march to protest against the Tsar. The man s name is Pasha. He is
an ordinary worker who believes to reform Russia there must be a complete
revolution of thought and action. Pahsa, when asked if he was part of the Bolshevik

Gapon was the organizer and leader of the Bloody Sunday march. He too escaped

After the massacre, Gapon became very violent and became one of the leaders of
the uprising. In Doctor Zhivago, Laura s fiancГ© changes his name from Pasha to
Strelnikauf and becomes a leader of the uprising too. Gapon and Strelinkauf are
quite similar in their actions and beliefs. Nine years after the Bloody Sunday
Massacre , Russia becomes involved with World War One. In the movie, there is a
scene where Russian troops are marching through Moscow and the town s people
are cheering for them. During this scene, the narrator describes how when he
entered the war, the party gave him the job the recruit troops. Bolsheviks, now
referring to themselves as the party, wanted the Tsar removed and the power
placed in the hands of the people. The Bolsheviks believed that the troops fighting
in the war would soon become tired a weary, and would be easily convinced to
come join the party. The narrator in the movie mentions this tactic by saying that the
soldiers boots were new, and by the time they would wear out, they would join the
party. The narrator of the movie described how Russians looked at the war. It was the

Gender Inequity in Education Essay
For years, females have been marginalized by American society. Until 1920, they
could not participate fully in the so called democratic organization of this country
by way of voting, and even then, it was considered improper for females to be
involved or interested in politics. In years past, females were discouraged from
entering certain professions, as the general consensus was that jobs that required
intense levels of higher training were male only jobs. Similarly, the place for
females was considered to be at home taking careof the children, rather than attending
university or going to work. Today, however, things are different. The outlook for the
future is much brighter. Females can pursue any career they choose. They are... Show

As things stand now, females, a group constituting approximately half of our nation,
are unable to achieve such ends because the educational system puts them at a
disadvantage by marginalizing them and placing their needs in learning below those
of males. Granted, this is not the case in every school. Many females grow to
become very successful individuals and receive the luxury of having teachers who
care about their education, who see all in the classroom as equally important to the
learning process. However, in a growing number of schools, some form of
discrimination, no matter how subtle, exists. If we want to grow as a nation, we
need to address this problem and allow all to have an equal chance at success.
Perhaps women in our society have it much better than in earlier generations.
Perhaps they indeed are afforded more opportunities to receive an education, and a
whole new world of job opportunities is open to them that had not existed previously.
But by allowing such discrimination to continue to exist, in any form, we convey the
message that as a society, we still somehow wish to retain some sense of separateness
between the capabilities of the two genders.
In researching this topic, I incorporated information not only from print sources, but
also from primary sources such as a focus group, interviews, and
The Role Of Oxidative Stress On A Free Radicals
The role of oxidative stress is the imbalance of detoxified free radicals. When the
body fails to detoxify free radicals, the free radicals take an electron from another
molecule. As a result, the molecule is no longer stable. An unstable molecule can
lead to damage within the cell and cause the cell to function improperly. Therefore,
preventing oxidative stress is very important for the cell to maintain its proper
function. If the cell does not function properly, an increase in antioxidants can help
to repair the cell. Antioxidants are produced by the cell but increasing antioxidants
for example in ones diet can reduce the amount of free radicals in the body that
cause harm and as a result lead to oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress is an
imbalance between the manifestation of reactive oxygen species and the bodies
ability to detoxify the reactive intermediates, the free radicals, or to repair the
damage resulting from the free radicals. Free radicals are uncharged molecules that
have unpaired electrons. Free radicals floating in the cell are dangerous because free
radical will take and or steal electrons from other molecules in the cell. When a
molecule does not have the correct amount of electrons that specific molecule cannot
function properly. When one molecule does not function correctly is can cause other
cells to function improperly and cause damage to the cell and other parts. Free
radicals in the body can interacts with different cell components such

John Locke And His Ideas Of Rebellion During The
English...
John Locke was an English writer, and his writings were based on the events that
took place during the Glorious Revolution in England in 1689, when the people of
England overthrew King James II. John Locke was interestingly enough, brought
up in a loyalist and Evangelical family. He was born to a very wealthy family, and
received much prestige in Oxford for his connections to the higher ups. Locke
presented his ideas of rebellion during the English civil war which took place in the
mid 1600s, in favor of the revolts against the King s rule in England at the time. John
Locke graduated with a degree in medicine from Oxford University.
He spent his entire life living in England until he was exiled to Holland, after the
English government found his writings on the freedom from religion to be defiant of
the king s authority. The main idea that Locke was trying to establish was that
rebellions against tyrannical governments should be viewed in a respected eye from
the rest of the world. He used the Treatises of Government to differentiate the rule of
a civil government and an uncivil government. Without the influence of a rebellious
Englishman there may never have been the United States of America.
Some of the founding fathers have been firm believers in the ideas posed in John
Locke s Second Treatise of Government . The one idea that can be seen quite clearly
is the complete dissenting stance taken by Locke on the thought of monarchy in civil
government. Absolute monarchy,

whatsoever on the freedom of its populace, his focus in writing Leviathan is not to
create a form of government that allows its people to be most free. Rather, he
intends to create a government which would most fully provide for the safety of
those ruled by it. As such, freedom and liberty in the conventional sense do not
appear in his text and he instead focuses on security and fear. Hobbes s first
definition of freedom is interesting in that it is a very literal interpretation thereof. He
states that Liberty, or Freedom, signifieth (properly) the absence of opposition (by
opposition,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The regime is not what determines liberty, but rather the laws that that regime
enacts. For Hobbes, every regime has one sovereign that is able to rule with
unlimited power. Even in a democracy, Hobbes argues that the electorate combines
to create one single sovereign and that power is not split equally among each voter.
As aforementioned, Hobbes does not argue that a regime can never infringe upon
the liberty of its citizens. He concedes that if a sovereign begins to enact an excess
of laws then there are some scenarios within which the overloading of laws could
infringe upon the citizens liberty. It is important to note, however, that no matter
what laws the sovereign establishes, nor how intruding upon one s liberty they
appear to be, they will never be unjust. As Hobbes says nothing the sovereign
representative can do to a subject, on what pretence soever, can properly be called
injustice, or injury, because every subject is author of every act the sovereign doth,
(138). This ties back to the original covenant that all citizens agree upon at the
inception of the Commonwealth, where they all authorize the sovereign to perform
every action the sovereign deems

The Effect of Structure on Purpose in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich One
Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn follows a Russian
prison inmate, Shukhov, through a standard day in the gulag system. The novel
displays Shukhov s struggle to survive through inhumane conditions and how he
deals and tolerates his suppressive and endless lifestyle. The novel provides insight
into the differing ideals and philosophical views that the very diverse groups of
prisoners hold. By using tools such as perspective and time, Solzhenitsyn provides a
platform from which he can bring multiple levels of meaning to an otherwise
monotonous and uneventful account. Time plays an important role in the structure
on One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. The lack of chapters, sections, or parts in
the book keep the narration continuous, creating the effect of an elongated day that
drags on. In the following passage, Shukhov reveals the how time is perceived in the
camp: No zek ever lays eyes on a clock or watch... All a zek needs to know is how
soon is reveille? How long till work parade? Till dinnertime? (171) . The effect of
time elongation is done with the lack of specific times; events are only described
chronologically and specific times are rarely used. Personal time is a precious
resource for the prisoners, or zeks. To the zeks, time in the prison camp is a
contradiction because there is too much of
Quantitative Analysis of Vitamin C Contained in a Fruit
Juice
Laboratory exercise 3 : Quantitative analysis of vitamin C contained in a fruit juice
Aim: To investigate the amount of vitamin C found in all kinds of fruit juice
Introduction :
Vitamin C is an antioxidant, along with vitamin E, beta carotene, and many other
plant based nutrients. Antioxidants block some of the damage caused by free
radicals, substances that damage DNA. The build up of free radicals over time may
contribute to the aging process and the development of health conditions such as
cancer, heart disease, and arthritis.
It s rare to be seriously deficient in vitamin C, although evidence suggests that many
people may have low levels of vitamin C. Smoking cigarettes lowers the amount of
vitamin C in the body, so smokers are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides that, consume Vitamin C with other drugs that contain chelates of very
reactive metals. This could lead to formation of unwanted harmful complexes.
Conclusion: Fresh Orange juice contains the highest amount of vitamin C as it is
lease oxidised.
Discussion :
Oxidation is defined as the interaction between oxygen molecules and all the different
substances they may contact, from metal to living tissue. However, with the
discovery of electrons, oxidation came to be more precisely defined as the loss of at
least one electron when two or more substances interact. Those substances may or
may not include oxygen. Not all materials which interact with oxygen molecules
actually disintegrate into rust.
Oxidation can be destructive, such as the rusting of an automobile or the spoiling a
fresh fruit. Sometimes it is not such a bad thing, as in the formation of super durable
anodized aluminium.
All the fruits will oxidise except for citrus fruits. So, sliced fruits can be soaked in the
orange juice for a few second so that it won t be easily oxidised.
In order to keep sliced fruit fresh overnight, we can put it in water. As it keeps the
oxygen in place so that it won t loose and electrons. This is because the loss of an
electron will begin the process oxidation.
Theoretically, kiwi has higher vitamin C than orange but because the juice are being
oxidised easily.

Essay question A. Sinuhe tells about the life of an immigrant in a foreign country.
Discuss a few of the hardships of Sinuhe as an immigrant. Does it resemble the
experiences of a modern immigrant? American Dream In Old And Modern Times
The problems of immigrants have been existing for centuries. Looking back, the
oldest story that readers could find about immigrants is the tale of Sinuhe. It speaks
strongly to our world today, where is full of exile, cultural conflict and displacement.
As we discussed earlier this semester, when fleeing to Syria, Sinuhe, as an educated
and successful immigrant, has been through many hardships and because of these ...

Last but not least, he goes through the hardship that he couldn t be accepted by the
natives no matter how long he has been in there. He is rooted in the culture that he is
born in even though he is raised in Retjenu. However, although Sinuhe has been
through many difficulties, his story seems like a successful example of American
Dream. An immigrant works his way to the top in his host country and returns to his
homeland with glory and pride. But underneath the happy surface, the tale of Sinuhe
is about the sad story of immigrants. Sinuhe s experience resemble the experiences of
a modern immigrant from three different aspects. First, it demonstrates the conflict
between the person s original culture and the culture of his host country. Undoubtedly,
an individual is rooted in his own culture. The gap between Sinuhe s cultural
background and the culture in
Retjenu makes Sinuhe an untrustworthy and threatening person to the natives.
Second, Sinuhe s experience reflects the indifference and exclusion of natives
towards the immigrants as well as their cultures. There are also a lot of stories about
the success of an immigrant in modern
American society. However, most of those people do not belong to the mainstream
society of
America. They do business with people who share the same cultural root with them.
Americans do not really admit that they are part of them. Third, Sinuhe s story

Love Guru Stereotypes
In American history, one of the main struggles that each race had to go through was
to be treated equally without there being any pattern of discrimination. However, if
historians look at the 18th century and compare it to the 21st century, and analyze
what is currently happening in the 21st century, they would see no difference in the
pattern. All they would notice is that the pattern of discrimination has recently been
modified to be less noticeable than before. In more recent times, many people make
up stereotypes that they involve with certain races, and later these stereotypes are
used against them to make fun of their culture or to even make it seem as if every
person that has roots from that raceis truly like that. An example of this... Show more

Numerous of Bollywood movies consists of songs, which include dancing in them.
These songs have led to American s to perceive that all Indian s do is dance and

parody of an Indian song at the end of the movie, by getting an Indian song and lip
singing the lyrics to the song. Also in the beginning of the movie the music that is
used is made by the sitar, and also uses instruments like the tabla. The tabla and the
sitar are used to represent Indian s in many shows and movies. This can be because
the instruments come from India, and it also can be because these instruments have
been associated with Indian s from a long time back. Considering this association,
this might be reason why a great deal of people believe that all music from India

How Does Nabokov Build Pnin
A book with no plot, sentence structure that messes with the very rules of what it
means to write, and contains sentences so long they can last five lines and become
so confusing a reader may need to read them three of four times to grasp their
meaning, does not sound like it would make a very good book. But, in this
masterpiece of a character study, Nabokov is able to build Pnin throughout the
book, despite there not being any goal he is working towards and having the
scenes be strung together without a connection, simply throwing the reader
headfirst into various snapshots of this character s life. Usually in a book the
character receives some of his characterizations through his experiences and the
change that happens naturally as they progress to some sort of climax, but Pnin
does not have this shift because there is no climax, there is no personality shift or
lesson learned from him that provides the reader with a resolved image of Pnin,
instead we figure Pnin out through the small tidbits of life and actions we are
given, along with the unconventional writing style of Nabokov. He is able to
portray this awkward protagonist, even uses a narrator to break the third wall,
making fun of Pnin, making the reader feel for him and connect to his situation
because he comes across as a kind hearted man, who struggles with social situations
and language because of his past and his culture of being and knowing Russian as his
first language. Nabokov builds Pnin s cultural identity

Brave New World Promiscuity Analysis
Introduction: Promiscuity was satirized in Aldous Huxley s Brave New World,
and as much as we would like to believe our society is not nearing the vulgar
actions of the New World State, we should not believe in such unrealistic concepts.
Some of the same struggles that were faced in the book are being seen more and
more in our world today. Even though there is some uncertainty and minute
resilience in the novel, promiscuity is an ongoing battle in the New World State
and on the Reservation; likewise, current society is showing that the intimacy
shared between two people could be replaced by a rising acceptance of
promiscuity. Analysis Portion: Though Lenina is a Beta with the perfect hard
working life and freedoms (while not having to do too much), the promiscuity
practiced and pushed upon the people of the New World State becomes
overwhelming for her when she and Henry have been together for four months.
And after all, Fanny s tone was coaxing, it s not as though there were anything
painful or disagreeable about having one or two men besides Henry. And seeing that
you ought to be a little more promiscuous... (Huxley 43). By bringing up the fact
that Lenina is not near promiscuous enough to satisfy the wants of her society shows
the resilience she may have towards the raunchy behaviors. Lenina says it herself
she hadn t been feeling very keen on promiscuity lately (Huxley 43). Even Fanny,
who has ridiculed Lenina for her promiscuity (or lack thereof) has been

Advantages Of Star Model Of Evidence Based Practice
Introduction:
A model is a representation of concepts which are used to help people know,
understand or simulate a subject matter. Moreover, a model is used to create the
various hypothesis which can be tested in the laboratory or utilized for explaining a
case study. The goal of this assignment is to explore three models of evidence based
practice (EBP) that interest the authors and give a summary. Although several models
used in research, this paper will highlight three specific models and provide a
summary, strengths, weaknesses and a model that can be implemented in a particular
practice.

The John Hopkins Nursing Evidence Based Practice Model is a powerful problem
solving approach to clinical decision making and is used in research. The model is
designed to meet the needs of the practicing bedside nurses and used a three step
process called a PET, facilitating nurses in translating evidence to clinical,
administrative and education based on evidence. According to Melnyk and Overholt
(2015), there are three steps to the JHNEBP model. The first phrase is practice
questions: Identification of an EBP question and defines its scope. The second phrase
is evidence of internal and external evidence team determine if its feasibility to

Compared and Contrast the three Models Strengths and Weaknesses:
Models are the conceptual framework that helps people to understand specific
concepts. In examining the three types of models, each presents a unique concept of
understanding evidence based practice. The John Hopkins model integrates cultural
values into evidence based practice. Furthermore, the main strength of this model is it
provides a simple framework for nurses at the bedside and incorporates internal and
external factors that may affect research. On the other hand,

societal problems of harassment and bullying are not going to improve. Bullying has

belittling names and harassing them to utter nothingness. Men feel the need to hit

Infinity Research Paper
The infinity symbol was introduced many years ago. The meaning of infinity was
believed to be used dating as far back as 400 BC. The symbol and definition that is
currently used for infinity is mostly used in mathematics. The infinity symbol and
definition has previously had different meanings, but basic concepts of what infinity
represents have remained the same. Throughout history, not only did it represent
mathematical thoughts, infinity had religious representation as well. The Upanishad,
which were texts recorded by people of the Hindu religion, used the idea of infinity.
They were the first to be known for the thought of something being infinite, but not

idea of infinity. At the time Ancient Greeks did not define the word infinity, but were
aware of the concepts from their surroundings. Since Ancient Greeks spent a lot of
time studying the planets and stars, the thought of there being no beginning or end
formed. Which is the current definition for infinity. The scientist Isaac Newton later
made contributions to infinity. Isaac Newton produced a theory on small numbers or
infinitesimals as they are now known (OnlineClock.net). Although Isaac Newton did
put some sense to the idea of infinity, there was still some confusion dealing with the
concept of infinity. Galileo Galilei then created the Galileo s Paradox which showed
that set of counting numbers can correspond with smaller sets of their squares .

Sense and Sensibility is the story about three sisters Elinor and Marianne

second wife of Mr. Dashwood and her three daughters are left with no home to live

Requirements Of Requirements And Requirements
Question 1: When writing a requirements document, it is important to understand
what it is that you re writing. Requirements documents must be hierarchical, and also
must be consistent. Consistency is important, because one must be able to follow for
whom he is defining requirements. System requirements vary significantly from
stakeholder requirements. As the requirements are written, it is also important to
maintain order along with consistency. If requirements are not ordered very
specifically, it will be easy to lose place of which requirements have already been
defined. When writing requirements statements and sets of requirements statements,
one must maintain uniqueness among each set. Consistency is not enough to
disallow requirements from becoming redundant. One may remain consistent with the
hierarchy of the requirements statements, however it is important to maintain
uniqueness. The concept of hierarchy allows for a level of inheritance to be
developed. If a systems engineer finds that he or she is writing redundant
requirements, it is important that the SE evaluates the levels of inheritance.
Repeating requirements can be detrimental in a requirements document for multiple
reasons. These requirements take up time and space for one. This document can be
lengthy, but it must be easy to follow and as concise as possible while being
thorough. Also, the level of redundancy in a document predetermines the difficulty of
understanding by its reader. As an extension to

The Achievement Of Desire By Richard Rodriguez
People have different opinions on the importance and meaning of literate arts. Literate
arts are significant, but not mandatory. It is crucial for everyone to understand how it
attributes towards the outside environment. Literate arts is a way for individuals to
express and understand themselves through different forms of writinglike stories,
poems, etc. Literate arts are good for promoting the development of aesthetic
sensibility, using sentimental and cognitive responses which leads to precise
critical reasonings. In Richard Rodriguez s essay, The Achievement of Desire, he
informs the readers how education became the essential meaning of his life. He
established how remorseful he was for neglecting his parents for education and to
the extent of disapproving his lowly educated parents. At home, life was less
noising than it had been. (I spoke to classmates and teachers more often each day
than to family members.) Quiet at home, I sat with my papers for hours each
night. I never forget that schooling had irretrievably changed my family s life
(Rodriguez, 519). Rodriguez would pile up on books and neglect his family as a
form of escape. His education formed a thin line between homework and readings

Finding The Journey InThe Alchemist, By Paulo Coelho
Dreams depend on the person and whether they can make them happen. In The
Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, a boy named Santiago is on a journey to find his
treasure. He later pursues finding this treasure with the help of many other
characters, and develops into a well rounded, knowledgeable person. Paulo Coelho
explains that if an individual keeps dreaming about one s treasure, not only should
one go and find it but also learn from your journey as one gets there. Paulo Coelho
shows how Santiago overcomes his obstacles, in order to seek his treasure and
defeat the challenges he must face to get to his treasure and as well as
incorporating other characters to help him alongside with his travels. Santiago
dreams of an unknown desire that awaits him. One of his helpers is a crystal
merchant. The man turns out to be the king of Salem. Santiago starts to tell him
about the dreams he keeps having, and the old king dealt with Santiago. The king
said he would tell him what his treasure is for the price of six sheep. The secret of
happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never to forget the drops of oil
on the spoon, proving that getting to Santiago s dreamwill give him new lessons to
learn and opportunities (Coelho,35). The old king implies that without spilling the
oil from the spoon, one will be on the right path to your personal legend. The old
king has given Santiago his first lesson about his travel and life. In addition, Santiago
meets new people and has enough
Safety and Effectiveness of Low-Carbohydrate Diets Essays
Although low fat, low calorie diet has always been the gold standard of weight
loss, low carbohydrate diet cannot be dismissed. However, despite its popularity,
low carbohydrate diet s safety and effectiveness continue to be subject of debates. It
was not until recently that low carbohydrate diet is properly studied due to the
difficulty of measuring adherence and the high rates of drop outs. This article will
review six original reports done on low carbohydrate diet. It will analyse the
effectiveness of low carbohydrate diet over short and longer period of time as well
as its effects on metabolism, coronary heart disease risk factors, glucose tolerance
and psychological aspects. Westman, Yancy, Edman, Tomlin, and Perkins s (2002)

They also found that low carbohydrate diet has more favourable improvement in
some factors of coronary heart disease, such as serum triglycerides and serum high
density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, but not on others, such as blood pressure,
low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and insulin sensitivity (Foster et al.,
2003). The strength of this research is that it comprises of various coronary heart
disease risks. This result however may not be reliable as the sample is small and
the attrition level is forty three per cent. As subjects used were obese individuals
that had no serious health disease, their findings cannot be generalised for
overweight and obese individuals with serious health disease. HPLC diet was also
tested on severely obese adolescents, aged twelve to eighteen (Krebs, Gao, Gralla,
Collins, Johnson, 2010). Similar to previous findings, they found that HPLC diet
has significantly greater reduction in Body Mass Index compared to low fat diet
without any adverse effects for up to twenty four weeks before it diminishes.
Therefore, Krebs et al. (2010) concluded that HPLC is a safe and effective option
for treatment of severe obesity in adolescent. This result, though, should not be
generalised as the sample is small and exclusion of children with poor family
supports, various health diseases and disorders may affect result. In addition, high
drop outs rate may also affect result. On the other hand, since the

College Essay About Wine
I m fascinated with wine, and I want to know all I can about wine: how it s made,
and how the industry works. I daydream about working long hard days on a
vineyard, I tear up with happiness while watching documentaries and reading books
and articles about wine, and I always find myself thoroughly investigating winelabels.
Wine is interesting to me because so many components go into the process of making
it. Agriculture, science, communication, physical labor. It s thrilling, social, personal,
artistic and a learning process that never ends.
When I first started getting interested in the wine industry, and looking into possible
careers, I knew it was where I wanted to be and I felt more excited about my future
than I ever had before. Last ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While visiting Walla Walla last April, my mom and I visited Dunham Cellars and
we talked with a young man who works as the tasting room manager. He told us that
he had recently graduated from this program himself and explained how it really
helped steer him to the right career in the industry. He told us how he went into the
program thinking he wanted to do vineyard work but then found himself more
attracted to the winery side of the industry which he didn t expect. I also have a family
friend who opened a winery in Seattle a few years ago, and then in 2012 purchased
a vineyard in Prosser, Washington where he now lives and works. We visited the
vineyard after our stay in Walla Walla and I felt so at home walking through the
vines. I have big ambitions and ideas of where I want to take my career but I know
that could all change and I m open to that and excited to figure out where I fit best
by trying it all. I think wherever I end up I will be happy and excited about my
career. I know there aren t as many women in the wine industry but I m excited to see
that changing and I want to be part of that
Descent
The Most Beautiful Death
The short film, Descent is about a dying man and his very vivid memories shown
through dance.
The movie won many awards including, the Van Gogh Award at the Amsterdam Film
Festival and Best Music and Dance at the Global Short Film Award. The film also
won the Excellence film award from Indie Fest.
The entire film is less than five minutes but it has so much content in it. I m usually
not the kind of person that watches live performances or goes to dance recitals. I
have trouble understanding them and this film was no exception, but it was so
beautiful to watch that I m not upset that I wasn t sure what was happening. I have a
million different ideas of what the dancers could mean with their movements but I m

In front of the wall are three men with black trash bags over their faces. They are
reaching out in different directions and ripping open the bag. They pull themselves
up off the floor and begin their dance. It is beautiful and mesmerizing and I ve
watched it several times. There are moments when the camera goes into slow
motion and we get a great scene of one of the three men with his leg straight up in
the air. After their dance the camera switches focus back to the woman in a yellow
dress from before. She moves as fluidly as water. Her movements are precise and
relaxing. She is making things that take lots of strength look like anyone is capable
of doing it. I could watch her dance for hours. Just as with the three men from
before some of her movements are caught in slow motion, at just the perfect time to
see her body contort in different ways. The film ends with the dying man and the
woman in the yellow dress. He is still letting out his substance from his body while
he dies in her arms.
Along with the very powerful visuals from the dancers the music is strong and
reflective. If I close my eyes I can see the story laid out in front of me from the
music alone. It has a haunting tone to it that makes you wonder about your own life
and what your memories would look like if someone created
My Reflection On My Vision
Four A.M. My vision begins to reoccur, in a daze, I glance at my watch and it s
four o three A.M. Oh no, no, no. It can t be that late already. Shaking my friends I
yell, It s 4 in the morning! We have to go and get home before my mom waking up
or I will be grounded for the rest of the summer! They barely comprehend that, so I
grab each one of them by their wrist and drag them to where I find Frank. Frank
agrees that he will find a ride and that he will take care of Circe. Sprinting to the

Blood is dripping my head or is it my nose, as this point, I don t care. The sun is
coming over the horizon and what little I can see all I do see blood everywhere,
thank gosh I decided to buckle. I look over to where my best friend was but she s
not there, an unrecognizable person is sitting upside down in her place. I begin to
sob at the sight of Ana, her face has a thousand cuts from glass and trees, blood
pouring from each cut, a stick is the front of launched in her neck and comes out
the back. I glance and shriek, the only thing left from my friends is blood and a
hand that appears to be Claire s. The flames roar closer and closer, sirens and blue
and red light come from the distance. I unbuckle myself and wobble out of the car.
I stare into the distance where I see parts of my friends who had fallen out of the
car. I fall down and scream. My friends are dead because of me. I crawl over to an
area where shards of glass lay and I slit my wrist, in the process blood pours out of
each cut I make. Ambulances, fire trucks and police car whirl around the corner as
soon as they arrive. I continue to slash my arm until a medic grabs me and yells,
Stop that, you re a survivor! Others follow him, placing me onto a stretcher the

from the car. My eyelids become heavy and I close the so I can join my
The Pros And Cons Of Assistive Technology
Assistive technology has greatly improved in the past years. From computer to
telephones to even Post It notes. The world has advanced quite a way since we only
had sign language and braille. We now have specialized computers that read where
your eyes point so you are able to communicate with the rest of the world through a
computerized voice. Assistive technologyhas improved in a variety of different ways
throughout the years, mostly technologyfor the hearing, seeing impaired as well as
paralyzed people within the world.
Many advancements have been made for the mobility impaired. There has been a
computer made that uses a red dot laser in order to read which way your eyes look
so the words on a computer screen may be said aloud (Filipczak 1). This helps
people because if they happen to have no ability to make the necessary movements
to be able to communicate, they now only have to move their eyes in order to be
able to talk to people. There are also advanced wheelchairs that all the impaired
needs to do is move a stick to be able to move (Filipczak 4). Now people only have
to move their hands in order to move about. Another thing for the mobil impaired is a
keyboard overlay which allows those with limited mobility to type and rest their
hands on the keyboard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are apps that allow the words on a computer screen a lot bigger for the people
who have trouble seeing and/or have blurry vision(Filipczak 2). Also there have
been braille printers made which will help if a blind person needs to read an
article, they can print it out and read it by touching it (Filipczak 3). Something as
little as a magnifying glass can be counted as assistive technology because it helps
the person see the words bigger than they are(Vlasak 1). This helps people who have
a hard time seeing be able to read words on a computer screen or be able to to read an
article that they can t see because they are

Vertigo Scottie Vs Friedman
In the works Thin Blue Line, Capturing the Friedmans, and Vertigo the creation of
reality and the truth brings justice to wrongdoers, and those who have been wronged.
Specifically, the documentaries Thin Blue Line, and Capturing the Friedmans create
a reality that is ambiguous in an effort to show that no one actually know the truthof
the situations in the documentaries. Meanwhile in the film Vertigo Scottie recreates
his past lover, and inadvertently brings the truth out about her death.

unfortunate events sees her jump to her death. However, one day when walking
the streets of the city, he spots a woman,Judy, who likes strikingly similar to his
past lover. After spotting her he impulsively begins to recreate the reality of
Madeline through Judy by forcing her to dye her hair, and wear the same exact
clothes Madeleine wore, and Rothman describes Scottie s refusal to let his love be
lost as the source of these monstrous actions (Rotham 231). However, it is this
inability to let his past go that leads him to recreate a reality and bring forth the
truth. Even so, after he recreates his lover Madeleine, it is not until Judy makes
the mistake of wearing the same neckless his former lover did that sparks
realization for Scottie. After seeing this he is prompted to take Judy to the sight
where Madeleine was killed, and confront her about her involvement in the murder
of Madeline. After overcoming his vertigo, Scottie find himself at the top of the bell
tower with Judy, where she ends up jumping to her death. In doing so, retributive
justice is brought to Madeline seeing that her killer dies the same way she did.
However, none of this would have not been possible without Scottie s effort to
recreate the reality of his lover Madeleine. It is through this recreation that truth
behind Judy s identity, and the cause of Madeline s death is
Free Trade And Trade Agreements
Free Trade
Free trade is a policy in which the government does not interfere against imports or
impedes with exports by applying tariffs (Encyclopedia, 2015). Free trade is about
removing barriers like tariffs, quotas, and other restrictions. Tariffs are taxes that the
countries enforce on imported goods and services, they are set in place to make
trade harder. This ultimately causes the price of goods and services for consumers to
be more expensive. Quotas are a limited quantity countries put on imports and
exports. Barriers to trade is a government limitation on the amount of international
goods and services. Countries decide to put up barriers on trade for the sole purpose
of protecting their own economy and interests. The United States has free trade
agreements with 20 countries, including the North American Free Trade Agreement
(NAFTA), the Tran Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), and the Transatlantic Trade
and Investment Partnership (T TIP). There are many advantages and disadvantages
with free trade agreements. The North American Free Trade Agreement was
implemented in 1994, it consists of three countries; Canada, Mexico, and the United
States. NAFTA is the largest free zone which sets the groundwork for a stronger
economic development as well as the raise in prosperity between this countries
(NAFTA, 2013). For the three countries in the agreement, NAFTA has removed
tariffs and non tariff barriers such as quotas, licensing and other limitations. Before it

Essay About Crimes

  • 1. Essay About Crimes Writing an essay on the topic of crimes can be an intricate and challenging task, demanding a delicate balance between objectivity and empathy. The subject matter itself is broad and multifaceted, encompassing various types of offenses, their causes, societal impacts, and potential solutions. The complexity lies in navigating through this intricate web of information to construct a coherent and insightful essay. To begin with, the sheer diversity of crimes presents a daunting challenge. From white-collar crimes to violent offenses, each category requires a unique approach and understanding. Researching and comprehending the nuanced aspects of different criminal activities demands time and patience. Moreover, delving into the sociological, psychological, and economic factors that contribute to criminal behavior adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. Another hurdle is maintaining a balanced perspective. It is crucial to present a fair and unbiased view while discussing crimes and their repercussions. Striking the right chord between empathy for the victims and understanding the circumstances that lead to criminal actions can be a delicate task. Tackling sensitive issues without falling into the trap of oversimplification or generalization requires finesse and a nuanced approach. The task is further complicated by the ever-evolving nature of crime in society. Staying abreast of the latest trends, technological advancements, and legislative changes is essential to provide an up-to-date and relevant analysis. This dynamic aspect of the subject demands constant revision and adjustment of the essay's content to ensure its accuracy and timeliness. In addition, crafting a compelling narrative that engages the reader and maintains their interest throughout is no easy feat. It requires a skillful use of language, an effective structure, and a coherent flow of ideas. Balancing the gravity of the topic with an accessible writing style is a challenge that demands careful consideration. In conclusion, writing an essay on crimes involves navigating through a complex landscape of information, maintaining objectivity, and addressing the dynamic nature of the subject. It requires a blend of research skills, empathy, and effective communication. Despite the difficulties, it is an endeavor worth undertaking to contribute to a better understanding of this critical societal issue. • 2. Examples Of Extrinsic Motivation Topic: What is intrinsic motivation? With people so used to monetary rewards and other extrinsic motivation, how do managers use intrinsic motivation methods to motivate staff? Introduction Work motivation can be defined as the psychological forces within a person that determine an employee s behavior in an organization, effort level, and persistence in the face of obstacles (Kanfer, 1990). In simple words, motivation determines why an employee acts a certain way. Most managers agree that employee motivation can be subdivided into intrinsic and extrinsic motivation (Staw, 1976). Per Amabile (1993), an employee is said to be intrinsically motivated when they seek enjoyment, interest, satisfaction of curiosity, self expression, or personal challenge in the work. While employees are extrinsically motivated when they engage in the work to obtain some goal that is apart from the work itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For a long time, managers have been known to focus on the use of financial rewards aspect of extrinsic motivation to motivate their employees, but this method seems to be failing, as only 13% of employees worldwide are engaged at work , as per Gallup s study on 142 countries, (Crabtree, 2013). This report aims to study how extrinsic motivation methods are less relevant and instead, managers must focus on intrinsic motivation methods. This is done by largely studying The Google Way of managing employees, and study the effectiveness of these
  • 3. Have You Ever Thought About Any Of The Main People In The Have you ever thought about any of the main people in the Renaissance? Is there any that stood out to you for their hard work? There were many successful and inspiring people during the Renaissance of 1400 s and 1500 s. This paper will show how Isabella D Este earned her name and is now recognized as one of the most famous patron of the arts from the Renaissance. Isabella D Este was born on May 18, 1474 into a ruling family which was when it all began. She was married at the age of sixteen to Francesco Gonzaga and was just as intelligent as him. Marrying Francesco got her into the part of her life when she really started to spark. Due to her marrying him she was seen as an upper official from the start and people began to look up to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Isabella grew in the field of politics, she became a very influential person. She began to make wiser, more intelligent and deeper decisions than she would ve made before she was known as one of the greatest patrons today. With all those great characteristics, Isabella left a huge image for people to look up to as long as today. Isabella D Este is known for all her efforts to help others improve the Renaissance with anything she could do to help. The activities of Isabella d Este (1474 1539), Marchesa of Mantua, speak differently to different generations of scholars, whose many responses to her patronage and collecting of art have ranged from hero worship to scorn (Cockram, 606). She brought energy, intelligence and judgement to literature while mastering two different languages and following in the steps of ancient scholars who made a big impact. As a result of this, she promoted many works of literature and changed the way of writing back then. Many of Isabella s ideas were very unique only because she was one of the First Lady s to speak out her opinion. Many of the women were too afraid and Isabella took a stand and stayed true to her thoughts and dreams. In light of the instability of female power in sixteenth century courts, women who collected works of art, like Isabella, needed to tread carefully in their collecting practices by engaging in patronage activities that demonstrated the cultivation of their court, but in a manner that remained unthreatening to

She was made Minister and responsible for the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. During her time as Deputy Prime Minister she worked together with the US secretary of education on education reform and also introduced a law called Fair Work Australia . Julia Gillard challenged Kevin Rudd for the leadership of the Prime Minister position. During the challenge, the Labor Party resulted in a hung parliament where no party had the majority of seats. Julia formed a partnership with the Green Party and other parties in order to establish a working government and made history by becoming the first female Prime Minister of

  • 6. Essay on New Billing Business Network Proposal New Billing Business Network Proposal David Moser Strayer University CIS 175 Introduction to Networking My neighbor comes to me about a small startup billing business, he requires an information technology design specification that will meet a tight budget $5000.00. Included in the business requirements are two workstations, Internet access, one printer, multiple email addresses, basic security, and a maintenance cost ceiling of $200.00 per month. I have made the following proposal to my neighbor to meet his IT needs. To ensure maximum flexibility and reliability I recommend that the network be configured as a wireless only network. The number of devices is relatively small; two workstations, one printer and one router ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Microsoft Office 2007 is recommended for compatibility with other businesses, as Microsoft Office is the business standard for office document formats. For the same reason Adobe Acrobat is recommended for all documents that will be published as read only or as forms with active fields. Norton Internet Security is recommended with a 3 year subscription for updates to protect against malware. A UPS (one for each workstation) will protect both hardware and software from the common occurrence of power dips and surges that can cause damage and require maintenance and repair. The cost for each workstation with all the items I have discussed is $1500.00 U.S. In order to save on monthly expenses and decrease maintenance costs I recommend sourcing both of these requirements from the same vendor. An ADSL premium service will meet the needs of the new business while also staying below the monthly budget constraints. It will provide Internet access at a bandwidth of 6 Mbps download and 768 Kbps upload which will cover the needs of a small business that uses the Internet for primarily email. This service includes a main email account and up to 10 sub accounts however I recommend adding the Business Email service from AT T which features 25 email addresses and a domain name for the business that will properly identify the new business to existing and future customers
  • 7. Jonathan Edwards In the 1740s the Puritan faith experienced mass revival. A major pillar in said revival was the sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards. It was a message so frightening, hysteria was reported amongst its audience. Besides being the trope maker of fire and brimstone sermons, what made it so effective? Three things: the delivery of the message, the analogies and examples throughout the speech, and Edwards use of human psychology to sway his audience to his goal. One of the causes of this sermon s effectiveness was Edwards deliverance. He is said to have delivered his message in a calm, level manner and did not employ drama techniques to stir up his audience. Obviously his message did not suffer from employing this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edwards prevented this outcome by using gripping analogies and clear examples. The analogies used painted a picture of God s wrath in a way the audience could understand it and the hopelessness of continued sin without repentance ( Spider s web to fallen rock , wrath compared to heavy storm clouds , great waters and floodgates , etc.). His examples used to make the fears realer by supplying evidence (the sudden ruin of neighbors, Sodom) and proof of repentance goodness (various neighbors, countrymen). These examples and analogies showcase Edwards manipulative strength: the final pillar. Edwards weaponized an understanding of the human mind and spirituality to breach his congregation s mind and heart for God. He knew that his audiences behaviors and attitudes and brought them to the light using guilt held for self righteousness and sin, human demand for justice you shall not suffer beyond what strict justice requires , and the bandwagon technique ( a day wherein many are flocking to him and many... now in happy state ). Edwards successfully exploited human doubt of situation and fear of hell. This fear brutal self examination of the audience, which is what made the sermon so

Moreover, the city is very compact and the transportation makes it very easy to travel around. Because of its diverse environment, Geneva is the most ideal place to open an international food restaurant such as Irish restaurant. Moreover, it is easier to operate an Irish restaurant in Geneva than other cities in Switzerland. Employees in the city are also used to working with people from distinct backgrounds. Another benefit is that people in Geneva tend to equally accept other national customs as the local s. It will be less difficult to promote international food in such city than those which are hardly exposed to multi cultures. In fact, more than 1,200 cuisines are from all over the world (Republic and State of Geneva: Department of Economy and Health, 2009). Not only does Geneva have high potential demand due to its high traffic, but also it consists of many groups of people whom the Restaurant can penetrate. The demand of the Restaurant can be categorized into two groups, the locals and the tourists. To clarify each group, the locals are people who reside in Switzerland and the tourists are those who travel from other countries. Among the locals are many Irish people. Number of Irish associations, for instance the Geneva Irish Association and the Irish Folk, indicates that there are specific or direct groups of demand for the Restaurant. • 9. School In New Zealand, children are required, by law, to attend school from ages six to sixteen. In these ten compulsory years, children are crammed full of knowledge. Learning Mathematics, Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages, and Arts is a daily occurrence; a parent looking at this curriculum might think their child is receiving a well rounded and varied education. But is schoolreally preparing students for real life? After ten years at school (or sometimes less if granted an exception) our little wonders are released into the world to get jobs, own houses, and raise families of their own. Clearly, New Zealand s Education Department believes that, in just ten short years, students are completely equipped with all the skills and knowledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What about classes that teach our students how to be mentally healthy and remain positive? Even if we did have these classes it wouldn t benefit our kids because they re not attending school. Every single day across the country in 2016, around 76,000 students were absent from class and according to OECD statistics, enrollment rates are going down and 7% of fifteen to nineteen year olds are not enrolled in any form of education, training, or employment. This is not good. We, as a nation, are losing our motivation to learn. In New Zealand, there are many various programs set up to help high school dropouts and many apprenticeships advertised through schools for those who are struggling academically. And whilst this is still necessary if we want to continue to fight unemployment and homelessness, perhaps New Zealand needs to develop a love of learning. Perhaps these programs offer a cushion for failure. So if our culture doesn t offer the opportunity for success, how can we make a change? I looked towards two successful schooling systems Finland and South Korea. In Finland, teachers are highly trained and highly respected. To become a primary school teacher, you must complete a five year master s degree and are given complete freedom to use all the knowledge they have acquired over those five years. Also, high quality schools and teachers are offered to all students, regardless of ability or financial status. Teachers are respected as
  • 10. Why Should Kids Become Adults At 18 Why should kids become adults at 18? Well at that age they are starting to make the choices of an adult, so the should be known as one. we should be known as an adult at this age because we can make the decisions of an adult. We are mature enough to be an adult. At 18 we are showing that we are mature enough to make the decisions of an adult. Julie Beck wrote the mature age of an adult is 18, science has proven that. What she means is that science has shown that we can be mature adults at 18. This paragraph proves my point on the FACT that we are mature enough at 18 to become an adult. 18 is definitely old enough to vote. At 18 we start paying more attention to the world around us, including politics. We should be able to vote at 18.

  • 12. How Hunger Can Be Reduced in the United States Essay How can hunger be reduced in the United States? In order to reduce hunger, every possible cause must be addressed. Climate changes, natural disasters, wars, and lack of aid are just a few causes of hunger and food insecurity. These issues can be dealt with nationally and locally. Nationally, there need to be programs and policies in place that give access to resources and the ability to sustain those efforts. To reduce hunger in local communities, more support needs to be given to farmers and markets, and there always needs to be access to food and aid. A lot of people think that because SNAP is fairly generous with the benefit it gives, that it gives some people no incentive to work. Contrary to popular belief, though, SNAP does not give enough aid for someone to live comfortable without having a job. To many, SNAP is a temporary help when the income for the household is low ( HUNGER ). More than 1 billion people in the world right now are suffering from hunger. Food security is the access by all people at all times to the food needed for a healthy life, as defined by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. There are four points to food security, which are availability, access, utilization, and stability. When one or even all these points are missing, it is described as food insecurity. The rise of food prices in 2008 shocked and affected millions of people, many of whom were very poor. Because of the rise of food prices, there were protests and hunger was put at the top of the list, although it did not stay there. Science has to understand how to deal with hunger as the problem grows. Using scientific research and changing policies can have a huge impact on the issue of hunger. Population is
  • 13. Theme Of Alienation In A Thousand Splendid Suns In A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini, and Master Harold ...and the boys, by Athol Fugard, alienation is definitely one of the most apparent themes because in both books the main characters are always told that they are different like when Mariam is called harami and when Sam and Willy are discriminated by Hally. In both of these texts, the main characters are alienated in a way that made them feel so different to the point where it affected their lives because they always felt like they are incapable. In A Thousand Splendid Suns, after Mariam was always called a harami, meaning bastard in Arabic, by Nana, she always thought that this small thing somehow made her incapable of going to school and other simple things in life. In Master Harold ...and the boys, Sam and Willie, mainly Sam, was always being discriminated by Hally. Due to this, Hally made Sam feel like he was incapable of doing certain things, like winning a dance competition. These examples of alienation and much more are evident in both texts and actually change the meaning of the story because it influences the way the characters act and live their lives. This depends on how the characters are treated, and what they are made to feel like they can not do. Starting off with A Thousand Splendid Suns, Mariam was always called a Harami by her mother. After constantly hearing this while growing up, Mariam thought that it was a big deal because that is the reason she is unable to live with or see

Until 1920, they could not participate fully in the so called democratic organization of this country by way of voting, and even then, it was considered improper for females to be involved or interested in politics. In years past, females were discouraged from entering certain professions, as the general consensus was that jobs that required intense levels of higher training were male only jobs. Similarly, the place for females was considered to be at home taking careof the children, rather than attending university or going to work. Today, however, things are different. As things stand now, females, a group constituting approximately half of our nation, are unable to achieve such ends because the educational system puts them at a disadvantage by marginalizing them and placing their needs in learning below those of males. Granted, this is not the case in every school. Many females grow to become very successful individuals and receive the luxury of having teachers who care about their education, who see all in the classroom as equally important to the learning process. However, in a growing number of schools, some form of discrimination, no matter how subtle, exists. If we want to grow as a nation, we need to address this problem and allow all to have an equal chance at success. Perhaps women in our society have it much better than in earlier generations. Perhaps they indeed are afforded more opportunities to receive an education, and a whole new world of job opportunities is open to them that had not existed previously. But by allowing such discrimination to continue to exist, in any form, we convey the message that as a society, we still somehow wish to retain some sense of separateness between the capabilities of the two genders. In researching this topic, I incorporated information not only from print sources, but also from primary sources such as a focus group, interviews, and
  • 17. The Role Of Oxidative Stress On A Free Radicals The role of oxidative stress is the imbalance of detoxified free radicals. When the body fails to detoxify free radicals, the free radicals take an electron from another molecule. As a result, the molecule is no longer stable. An unstable molecule can lead to damage within the cell and cause the cell to function improperly. Therefore, preventing oxidative stress is very important for the cell to maintain its proper function. If the cell does not function properly, an increase in antioxidants can help to repair the cell. Antioxidants are produced by the cell but increasing antioxidants for example in ones diet can reduce the amount of free radicals in the body that cause harm and as a result lead to oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress is an imbalance between the manifestation of reactive oxygen species and the bodies ability to detoxify the reactive intermediates, the free radicals, or to repair the damage resulting from the free radicals. Free radicals are uncharged molecules that have unpaired electrons. Free radicals floating in the cell are dangerous because free radical will take and or steal electrons from other molecules in the cell. When a molecule does not have the correct amount of electrons that specific molecule cannot function properly. When one molecule does not function correctly is can cause other cells to function improperly and cause damage to the cell and other parts. Free radicals in the body can interacts with different cell components such

John Locke was an English writer, and his writings were based on the events that took place during the Glorious Revolution in England in 1689, when the people of England overthrew King James II. John Locke was interestingly enough, brought up in a loyalist and Evangelical family. He was born to a very wealthy family, and received much prestige in Oxford for his connections to the higher ups. Locke presented his ideas of rebellion during the English civil war which took place in the mid 1600s, in favor of the revolts against the King s rule in England at the time. John Locke graduated with a degree in medicine from Oxford University. He spent his entire life living in England until he was exiled to Holland, after the English government found his writings on the freedom from religion to be defiant of the king s authority. The main idea that Locke was trying to establish was that rebellions against tyrannical governments should be viewed in a respected eye from the rest of the world. He used the Treatises of Government to differentiate the rule of a civil government and an uncivil government. Without the influence of a rebellious Englishman there may never have been the United States of America. Some of the founding fathers have been firm believers in the ideas posed in John Locke s Second Treatise of Government . The one idea that can be seen quite clearly is the complete dissenting stance taken by Locke on the thought of monarchy in civil government. Absolute monarchy,
  • 20. Freedom And Freedom In Hobbes s Leviathan Freedom and liberty are both somewhat irrelevant concepts in Hobbes s Leviathan. Although he would argue that the type of regime in power has no real effect whatsoever on the freedom of its populace, his focus in writing Leviathan is not to create a form of government that allows its people to be most free. Rather, he intends to create a government which would most fully provide for the safety of those ruled by it. As such, freedom and liberty in the conventional sense do not appear in his text and he instead focuses on security and fear. Hobbes s first definition of freedom is interesting in that it is a very literal interpretation thereof. He states that Liberty, or Freedom, signifieth (properly) the absence of opposition (by opposition,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The regime is not what determines liberty, but rather the laws that that regime enacts. For Hobbes, every regime has one sovereign that is able to rule with unlimited power. Even in a democracy, Hobbes argues that the electorate combines to create one single sovereign and that power is not split equally among each voter. As aforementioned, Hobbes does not argue that a regime can never infringe upon the liberty of its citizens. He concedes that if a sovereign begins to enact an excess of laws then there are some scenarios within which the overloading of laws could infringe upon the citizens liberty. It is important to note, however, that no matter what laws the sovereign establishes, nor how intruding upon one s liberty they appear to be, they will never be unjust. As Hobbes says nothing the sovereign representative can do to a subject, on what pretence soever, can properly be called injustice, or injury, because every subject is author of every act the sovereign doth, (138). This ties back to the original covenant that all citizens agree upon at the inception of the Commonwealth, where they all authorize the sovereign to perform every action the sovereign deems

David Cheng Ms. Chappell AP English 15 November 2015 The Effect of Structure on Purpose in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn follows a Russian prison inmate, Shukhov, through a standard day in the gulag system. The novel displays Shukhov s struggle to survive through inhumane conditions and how he deals and tolerates his suppressive and endless lifestyle. The novel provides insight into the differing ideals and philosophical views that the very diverse groups of prisoners hold. By using tools such as perspective and time, Solzhenitsyn provides a platform from which he can bring multiple levels of meaning to an otherwise monotonous and uneventful account. Time plays an important role in the structure on One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. The lack of chapters, sections, or parts in the book keep the narration continuous, creating the effect of an elongated day that drags on. In the following passage, Shukhov reveals the how time is perceived in the camp: No zek ever lays eyes on a clock or watch... All a zek needs to know is how soon is reveille? How long till work parade? Till dinnertime? (171) . The effect of time elongation is done with the lack of specific times; events are only described chronologically and specific times are rarely used. Personal time is a precious resource for the prisoners, or zeks. To the zeks, time in the prison camp is a contradiction because there is too much of

Conclusion: Fresh Orange juice contains the highest amount of vitamin C as it is lease oxidised. Discussion : Oxidation is defined as the interaction between oxygen molecules and all the different substances they may contact, from metal to living tissue. However, with the discovery of electrons, oxidation came to be more precisely defined as the loss of at least one electron when two or more substances interact. Those substances may or may not include oxygen. Not all materials which interact with oxygen molecules actually disintegrate into rust. Oxidation can be destructive, such as the rusting of an automobile or the spoiling a fresh fruit. Sometimes it is not such a bad thing, as in the formation of super durable anodized aluminium. All the fruits will oxidise except for citrus fruits. So, sliced fruits can be soaked in the orange juice for a few second so that it won t be easily oxidised. In order to keep sliced fruit fresh overnight, we can put it in water. As it keeps the oxygen in place so that it won t loose and electrons. This is because the loss of an electron will begin the process oxidation. Theoretically, kiwi has higher vitamin C than orange but because the juice are being oxidised easily.

But, in this masterpiece of a character study, Nabokov is able to build Pnin throughout the book, despite there not being any goal he is working towards and having the scenes be strung together without a connection, simply throwing the reader headfirst into various snapshots of this character s life. Usually in a book the character receives some of his characterizations through his experiences and the change that happens naturally as they progress to some sort of climax, but Pnin does not have this shift because there is no climax, there is no personality shift or lesson learned from him that provides the reader with a resolved image of Pnin, instead we figure Pnin out through the small tidbits of life and actions we are given, along with the unconventional writing style of Nabokov. He is able to portray this awkward protagonist, even uses a narrator to break the third wall, making fun of Pnin, making the reader feel for him and connect to his situation because he comes across as a kind hearted man, who struggles with social situations and language because of his past and his culture of being and knowing Russian as his first language. Brave New World Promiscuity Analysis Introduction: Promiscuity was satirized in Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, and as much as we would like to believe our society is not nearing the vulgar actions of the New World State, we should not believe in such unrealistic concepts. Some of the same struggles that were faced in the book are being seen more and more in our world today. Even though there is some uncertainty and minute resilience in the novel, promiscuity is an ongoing battle in the New World State and on the Reservation; likewise, current society is showing that the intimacy shared between two people could be replaced by a rising acceptance of promiscuity. • 37. Requirements Of Requirements And Requirements Question 1: When writing a requirements document, it is important to understand what it is that you re writing. Requirements documents must be hierarchical, and also must be consistent. Consistency is important, because one must be able to follow for whom he is defining requirements. System requirements vary significantly from stakeholder requirements. As the requirements are written, it is also important to maintain order along with consistency. If requirements are not ordered very specifically, it will be easy to lose place of which requirements have already been defined. When writing requirements statements and sets of requirements statements, one must maintain uniqueness among each set. Consistency is not enough to disallow requirements from becoming redundant. One may remain consistent with the hierarchy of the requirements statements, however it is important to maintain uniqueness. The concept of hierarchy allows for a level of inheritance to be developed. If a systems engineer finds that he or she is writing redundant requirements, it is important that the SE evaluates the levels of inheritance. Repeating requirements can be detrimental in a requirements document for multiple reasons. These requirements take up time and space for one. This document can be lengthy, but it must be easy to follow and as concise as possible while being thorough. Also, the level of redundancy in a document predetermines the difficulty of understanding by its reader. As an extension to
