Nursing Essay Examples
Writing an essay on the topic "Nursing Essay Examples" can be both challenging and rewarding.
The difficulty lies in the need for a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter, coupled
with the ability to articulate thoughts coherently. Here are some challenges one might face:
1. Research Complexity: Crafting a nursing essay requires in-depth research to gather
relevant and up-to-date information. This involves sifting through academic journals,
textbooks, and reputable online sources to ensure the content is accurate and current.
2. Technical Knowledge: Nursing is a specialized field, and the essay might require a solid
grasp of medical terminology, procedures, and ethical considerations. Translating
technical information into a format that is accessible to a broader audience can be
demanding.
3. Structure and Organization:Like any essay, a nursing essay needs a well-defined
structure. It should have a clear introduction, body paragraphs that present arguments or

Creating More Problems The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 opened on the 18th
of January, with delegations from all over the world attending to lay claim to their
desires, or gain reparations for their sacrifices throughout the greatest war the world
had ever been subject to. The big four countries at the negotiating table were the
British under Lloyd George, the French led by Georges Clemenceau, The Italians
and their prime minister Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, and The United States of
America under President Woodrow Wilson. Each group had their own ideas for a
post war world order, and their own tactics for reaching it. The actions of these

This leads to the British and French skirting around Wilson s goals, meeting secretly
to make decisions about the post war world, and to further their own, often
imperialistic, prerogatives.
The Treaty of Versaillesagreed upon in 1919 set in motion events that would be
direct causes of World War II. According to Robert Cowley, the treaty stripped
Germany of many territories, including Eupen Malmeacutedy, given to Belgium,
Alsace Lorraine to France, large amounts of eastern lands to Poland, the Memel
region to Lithuania, and most of the Schelswig area of the Danish peninsula to
Denmark. Germany lost all of her overseas colonies as well. It also forced Germany
to limit their army to 100,000 men, and forbade them certain types of weapons
common to modern armies. The worst part of all was that Germany was made to
assume all the guilt for the war, and forced them to pay an amount of war reparations
unspecified at first, then set around 33 billion gold marks(Cowley). World War One:
Treaties says that the peace terms imposed upon the defeated countries, Germany,
Austria, Hungary, and Bulgaria, seemed to them to be unfair and unjust punishments.

1.0 Introduction
The purpose of this Extended Experimental Investigation is to present a formal
scientific report on motors after researching, designing and conducting experiments
to investigate how different components of a motor affects its performance
capabilities and how these can be changed to produce a better motor. The
information should be researched and understood to provide evidence for your
knowledge of the task. What is a Motor?
Motors are everywhere, the power almost everything we use, from kitchen supplies
to our automobiles and transport even to kinds toys, they are the essence of
putting an object into motion. Most motors consist of the same various items
needed to for it to work, magnets, coils of wire, and a power supple. Whilst in the
process of discovering what a motor is the desired motor to be used for this
investigation is a simple DC motor were a power supply is used to power the
motor to start to spin unlike some other motors like in cars where they rely on all
other forms of injections for it to power such a large object. An elВectric motor is all
about magnets and magnetism: A motor uses magnets to create motion. Electric
motors involve rotating coils of wire which are driven by the magnetic force exerted
by a magnetic field on an electric current. They transform electrical energy into
mechanical energy (Internet 1). As a simple motor will be created, the design of
how to create this can be seen in figure 1.1.2 to justify how simple this is
Social Welfare Policy Analysis For Social Workers Essay
Plan to Influence Policy
In order to conduct meaningful change and to be effective in influencing policy,
there must be a well thought out plan in place. In the text The Policy Based
Profession: An Introduction to Social Welfare Policy Analysis for Social Workers
by Popple and Leighninger (2015) they argue that For an action strategy to be
effective, it is imperative that the people taking the action have a firm grasp on the
problem they are dealing with and on achievable goals. You must do your
homework before taking action (p. 262). It is crucial that we do our homework when
it comes to influencing policy for medicaid expansion in Texas. This includes having
a better idea on who our coalition partners are, these are individuals and groups who
share a common goal and purpose. This also includes knowing some strategies to
increase public awareness, and as well what potential barriers may lie ahead that
could possibly influence our success. Coalition Partners The state of Texas
currently has a coalition set up solely to help with medicaid expansion in Texas, the
coalition is called Cover Texas Now. Their mission statement states that they are a
coalition of consumer and faith based organizations whose mission is to see the state
of Texas implement a sustainable health care system and provide quality affordable
health coverage to its citizens (Cover Texas Now, 2016, para. 1). The coalition meets
regularly to brainstorm new effective strategies in improving

The Democratic Party and the Republican Party have many differences, but they also
share many similarities. The Democratic Party is the oldest continuing party in the
United States. A new coalition of Westerners, Southerners, and non property owning
white men emerged from the Democratic Republican Party and formed the
Democratic Party. The core beliefs that tie the Democratic Party together are:
Democrats believe that they are greater together than on their own, that the country
succeeds when everyone has an equal opportunity, everyone does their fair share, and
everyone plays by the same rules. The Democratic Party is focused on building an
economy that lifts up all Americans, not just those at the top. For more than two

The Democrats believe that only middle and lower income families should get tax
cuts and that corporations and the wealthy should pay more. The Republicans
believe there should be tax cuts for everyone including corporations. Democrats
are more progressive in their views; they favor abortion and gay marriage, but
favor strict gun control laws that limit ownership. They favor increasing the
minimum wage so that Americans have more money to purchase goods. They
favor trade restrictions to protect American jobs. The Republicans are more
conservative in their views; they oppose gay marriage and promote marriage being
between a man and a woman. They also oppose abortion and promote the right of
gun ownership. They oppose increases to the minimum wage, citing that
businesses need to keep costs low so they can prosper and all Americans have
access to products and services. They favor free trade in order to keep costs low for
consumers and businesses make more profits. Democrats prefer government
regulation and oversight of the health care system making the health care system
accessible to everyone. They believe that government should run social programs
such as welfare, unemployment, SNAP, and Medicaid to support those in need.
Republicans oppose the Affordable Care Act stating that too much government
involvement will cause a rise in costs and have a negative impact on the quality of
care. They believe that social welfare programs should have less funding and tighter
control. The Republicans favor a full military effort to displace regimes that are
totalitarian, detrimental to their own people, and who are threatening others; while
Democrats favor limited use of manpower. Democrats believe in restricting drilling
for oil; Republicans favor expanding drilling operations. Democrats favor progressive
approaches to education, such
A Sunrise On The Veld Poem Analysis
How Two Completely Different Stories Can Have So Many Similarities
The short stories, A Sunrise on the Veld and At the Pitt Rivers , have nothing in
common if you analyze them on a shallow literature level. A Sunrise on the Veld by
Doris Lessing, highlights some of the reasons why life is so valuable. Lessing hints
her readers that this short story is set somewhere in the desert by, ... the flesh of his
soles contracted on the chilled earth, and his legs began to ache with cold... He
slung the shoes over his shoulder... they would be necessary when the ground
became too hot to bear, (Lessing, pg. 1212). Most deserts get heated by the sun by
day, but loses the heat at night. The boy starts hunting, at first, but then is distracted
by a wounded buck. Seeing this buck suffer, depicts him especially sad. A boy is also
the protagonist in At the Pitt Rivers by Penelope Lively. This boy spends his time in
a museum, observing people and writing poems as the time passes. He keeps track of
a couple he sees at the museum. The couple catches his attention because they are not
his ideal of what a couple should look like. If a kindergartener read these two short
stories, he/she would find nothing in common with the stories. But, if the reader has
the ability to analyze the text in more depth, he/she would find that they are more
similar than the kindergartener would think.
As an advanced reader, a comparison that is prevalent in both stories is, society s
thinking of the ideal
A Brief Note On Ford s Autonomous Car
Ford s Autonomous Car Most of the automotive companies believe that the next
generation of cars are going to be autonomous vehicles, but not all of them have the
same opinion about it. Some companies want to bring a fully autonomous car to
reality, which wouldn t need any human interaction to drive the car, while other
ones are interested in driverless cars, which need humans to drive them. Both
autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and
both aim to give more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for
drivers and passengers, but the idea of an autonomous car on the roads raises some
questions about the safety of it and the responsibility over a car like this. A
driverless car can have most of the autonomous features, it just needs someone to
drive it, and then the control would also be from a person that would be more
watchful and take responsibilities over the car. Ford is going to launch an
autonomous car. The company already has a semi autonomous one in market, the
Fusion hybrid, and they say that the car is automated, but by automated they mean
that it is capable of automated operation under the supervision of a human driver.
Ford already have one step in automated driving, and in five years they are going to
bring two new innovative features that are going to be essential for self driving cars;
one is the fully automated parking that allows the vehicle to park itself with no help
from the driver, the driver just have
School Curriculum And Programs For Their Secondary
Education
Every year, bright and brilliant students enter or continue in the Folsom Cordova
Unified School District (FCUSD) for their secondary education. These are students
who are capable of outshining each other with their own unique and various ways.
There are students who simply want to graduate. Then, there are also students who
are unsure and unconfident about their paths however aiming for high educations.
Lastly, there are students who are vigorously passionate and confident aiming for the
pinnacle. FCUSD has done their best to optimize school curriculum and programs
that appeals to all types of students. The current curriculum is able to provide students
proper educationfollowed by the California Curriculum Instruction as well as help
students who are lacking behind better known as accelerated courses. The current
curriculum is working, but is it able to keep up with the fast moving stream of the
reputable colleges? Can FCUSD further aid the vigorously passionate and confident
student aim for their academic career path by improving the curriculum? Yes,
FCUSD is capable of making a different academic acceleration program that
encourages outstanding high schoolstudents to learn academic subject outside
conventional education at a faster rate by means of available resources and/or online
courses. The purpose of this program is to give the opportunity for students who finds
the conventional education too slow and would like to take higher courses like in

How To Train Your Dragon Hero s Journey
The movie How to Train your Dragon illustrates the Hero s journey because it has
the same concepts and stages a hero would take on their journey. The important
stages that the movie specifically demonstrates are: Refusal of the Call, The Ordeal,
and The Resurrection. The Refusal of the Call is when the herosenses fear of the
unknown and tries to avoid the dilemma, and it s when they refuse to perform what
they are asked to do for any reason. In the movie, this is when Hiccup does not want
to be a viking because he does not want to kill the night fury Toothless, whom he
has already befriended. This night fury was deadly but still refrained from killing
Hiccup. The next main stage from the Hero s journey is The Ordeal, which is
Kingdom Of Heaven
Kingdom of Heaven is a historical movie based on the second crusade. Although
the movie does have many things that are accurate in this movie. Hollywood has
made some problems with this movie. So why did Hollywood change things? For a
better movie? Maybe they just didn t find all the facts. Maybe Hollywood just
didn t get their facts straight. King Baldwin IV was a real person and he did have
leprosy. He did have a sister who gained the throne in later years as well. The
problem is that Hollywood forgot to mention his five year old nephew having the
throne for a short time before his sister. The article Latin king of Jerusalem Baldwin
IV by Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, 6th Edition, Q2 2016 says he appointed
Guy of Lusignan as his regent, but in the same year he withdrew the commission and

Balian the blacksmith in France. Correctly, it would be Balian the high ranking
knight who knew his father and was from Jerusalem. Balian did know his dad in
fact his father was not named Godfrey it was Balian of D ibelin. Also he never left
Jerusalem with Sibylla. In fact, Helena Schrader says, In 1188 Saladin released
Guy de Lusignan, taken captive at Hattin. He went first to Antioch to be reunited
with his wife, Queen Sibylla. Why did Hollywood change this? Probably to appeal
to the heart tearing side of the story. Why the name change of Balian to Godfrey?
The fact is it would be confusing if you had two people in the movie with the same
name. Kingdom of Heaven is a very well put together movie with some
nonfictional as well as fictional information. The idea of this is to show you that
you should not believe everything you see. So next time you see a movie that is
supposed to be historically correct. Do some digging and you might find gold.
Maybe they are correct and you will find nothing at all. Always question everything.

What Are Emily Dickinson s Accomplishments
The Life, Works, and Achievements of Emily Dickinson
On December 10th, 1830, Emily Norcross Dickinson and Edward Dickinson gave
birth to a beautiful baby girl named Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (Poets). Little did any
of them know that Emily Dickinson would be a famous poet who continues to move
people with her words to this day! Though Emily Dickinson wouldn t receive any
awards for her poetry, she is easily one of the most inspiring and touching poets of all
time. During her life, she wrote almost 1800 poems, but only about 12 were
published. Dickinson s fame only came after her death, but fame never seemed to be
something she wanted anyways (EmilyDickinsonMuseum).

She decided that they had to be published. Lavinia went to Mabel Loomis Todd and
asked her to help her get the poems published. She got Thomas Wentworth
Higginson to be the co editor and together they were able to publish Poems of
Emily Dickinson . They published two more books of poems by Emily Dickinson
before running into a lawsuit with the Dickinson family. This caused Todd to lose
a bit of land and put a stop to Emily s poems being published, but eventually Todd
was back to publishing Emily s poems. Soon enough, Todd had published almost
all of Emily s poems. In 1955, Thomas H. Johnson took Emily Dickinson s poems
put all of them in chronological order and then published it as a complete book of all
her poems known as The Poems of Emily Dickinson . Then, Ralph W. Franklin
published another version of The Poems of Emily Dickinson that had correct

The Shift of Power in Oleanna
Joseph Koltes M. Guista English 101 14 Oct. 2010 Oleanna is a two character
play about a power struggle between a University Professor, John, and a student,
Carol, who accuses John of sexual harassment. The play begins when John, a
condescending University Professor who holds power with his status, expresses
his frustration at Carol s class performance as she deduces that he is buying a
house. He feels she is, in reality, bright but troubled, and she agrees, citing her social
and economic background as impediments to her class performance. John lowers his
guard against Carol in order to find her motives for complaining to him. Carol then
goes on the offensive and bombards John with a flurry of his own actions with

to play the Patriarch in your class. To grant this. To deny that. To embrace your
students. John starts to raise his voice, which hints to the reader that he is no
longer thinking as clearly and intellectually as he was in Act one; Carol starts to
match John at his own game. This sets John behind in the argument and shifts
more power towards Carol because of. At the end of the act there is foreshadowing
of John completely losing himself as he grabs Carol restraining her from leaving.
This was the first threatening mistake John makes in the play which completes the
process of the power shifting from John now to Carol. By act 3, Carol pushes John
completely over the edge. Carol, in contrast to the beginning of the play, is now
completely in control of power over John, and constantly reminds him I didn t have
to come here but her actions state that she chooses to remain in his office. Act three
completely differs from Act one as Carol is now the person speaking
condescendingly towards John constantly interrupting him and not really listening to
what he has to say. John, on the other hand, plays Carol s role at the beginning of the
play. John tries to express his opinions; however, he keeps getting
Daylight Shading Paper
This paper addresses the issue and key considerations behind designing with daylight
as a primary factor from the early stages of design in the architecture. Furthermore, the
paper touches on the subject of some of the most efficient ways to tackle the
implementation of daylight strategies that are thoughtful in terms of projectspecifics
and achieve visual comfort and save on energy costs. As specialists in the building
industry, construction architects, together with architects, engineers, and other
professionals, face difficulties in implementing efficient daylighting strategies that
consider both proper illumination and much needed shading, that causes discomfort
glare and overheating. The main objective of the paper is to observe and... Show more

Moreover, the paper addresses what are the most common considerations in projects
regarding daylight implementation and how certain factors differ from one company
to company or professionals to professionals within the building industry.
The methodology used to investigate involved secondary data acquired from roughly
twenty different sources, such as books, publications, articles, magazines as well as
primary data, presently through personal interpretations and experience.
The benefits of daylighting are not limited to energy saving, but they include plenty
of health related positive aspects, as well as increased productivity and motivation
among users exposed to satisfactory levels of natural light during the day.
Companies should prioritize the spread of knowledge and training of staff in regards
to perceiving daylighting as a very important parameter from the early stages of
design. Working in close connection with consultants and legislators would facilitate
the creation of uniform mind set among professionals of the architectural practice

Hip Hop Politics, Class Unity And The Internet
In this essay, the influence of hip hop politics, class unity and the internet will be
explored to discover how the consumer became an active producer of culture. In
the early days of hip hop, particularly from its mainstream origins in the 70 s
(Dimitriadis 2009) up until the 90 s, the underground scene rarely floated into the
mainstream. Despite a good portion of the underground consisting of consumers,
to achieve mainstream success one would need the right connections and musical
equipment. Before these tools became affordable and accessible, the consumer
wasn t integrated as an active producer of culture. Thus the average consumer wasn
t capable of making major waves in the industry. In some respect, the mainstream
producer carried a sense of prestige because there were only a few who garnered
attention in the mainstream such as DJ Premier and Eric B and Rakim (Tom
Terrell, 1998). During the early origins of hip hop, as Josh Kun describes, hip hop
was mainly a facet of African American culture. As a result, many consumers from
other backgrounds weren t majorly included in developing the hip hop culture. This,
however, changed when icons such as Run DMC and Aerosmith broadened the
scope of hip hop and allowed more consumers to play an active role in producing the
culture. The popularity of the internet rose in the early 2000 s and it allowed the
consumer to actively shape the culture. The internet allowed the consumer to create
their own sounds and message and deliver it

Also, the review should capture what is known about the topic. Literature review
helps the reader to connect the dots between what is known, and how this project
can lead to new knowledge in the area of study. There are numerous ways for a
literature review to be completed. For example, chronologically, topically, or by
articles that agree and disagree with the topic. Layout of the literature review is up
to the author. Again, a decent start for literature review is underway. The articles
that are under review from previous course work will more than likely need to be
refined as more skill is developed in the art of literature review, but the work is
started. The completed reviews also bring refinement in further research as new
knowledge is developed with each article reviewed. Not to mention the articles that
are reviewed and rejected. Even though they are ultimately rejected, there is always
knowledge gained by their evaluation. There are 15 more articles to be researched
and analyzed for their inclusion in the capstone project. As mentioned earlier these
articles will help to shed light on the identified problem, and begin to lead the way
for how knowledge gained in these evidence based studies can help pave the way for
new knowledge required to complete the capstone project. 21 days have been allotted
to this aspect of the project. It takes considerable time to find quality studies, analyze,
and synthesize the content, and then summarize this
Plato and Socrates Relentless Question
Socrates knew the trial brought onto him by three citizens of Athens was not just
and the official accusations of corrupting the youth and impiety are not the true
reasons for the trial. He was put to death because of his method of challenging
others in the search for wisdom and knowledge. Socrates was given the opportunity
to defend himself and choose not to beg for his life but praise his life and to honor
his mission. He opposed the charges by a cross examination of the people who put
him on trial to show they had not put enough thought into their claims. Socrates
downfall, was that he made his defense in the same method he spent his life work by
making many wealthy and powerful people reveal their own ignorance and lack of...

Socrates discovered that men of good repute were not wise in their moral values and
were foolish., while those of lesser means were more knowledgeable. The argument
here is that Socrates earned a poor reputation because he publicly exposed the wealthy
men of Athens in their ignorance and lack of knowledge. This inquisition led Socrates
to have many enemies. (Apology, 3) During the trial Socrates referred several times
to the force of truth. He is implying that he wants Athenians to accept logical
conclusions even if they may not want to. Socrates also claims that obsession with
wealth and material things must never take precedence over the care of one s soul.
Socrates challenges their values and asks if they are not ashamed of their eagerness
to possess wealth, honor, and reputation and caring little about wisdom and truth
and enriching their souls? Socrates is attempting to reveal to the jury that the soul
is forever and is more important then physical obsession. Furthermore, he says that
this is the command of God and that my service to you is to show you that I m here
to improve your soul. (Apology, 6) Wealth and prestige, for most Athenians, was
very important and hearing these claims and the commands from god further fueled
the anger against Socrates. Later he identifies himself as a gadfly sent by god to
awaken and arouse the people and to show them the way to enlightment and improve
their soul. To prove his mission that he was given by god, he

Pornography And Its Effect On Society
Pornography is a booming industry which is at its highest peak. With so many
ways to access Porn, it is no wonder how common it is to hear the terms associated
with porn. Porn has changed the perception of sex in an ample amount of ways.
Some would consider porn to be prostitution, the only difference is that it is filmed
and it is legal. Porn is not something that should be lightly tossed around in the
conversation if there is no maturity involved. It is sickening to know that young kid
can see grown sexual acts that portray women to be commodities that can be tossed
around. Pornographyhas made a drastic impact not only in society, but the
perspectives of each exposed individual in a negative way.
The Pornography Industry, according to Columbia Graduate School Professor

Countries such as the U.S. have the resources to build elaborate biogas systems,
including syngas gasification, a much faster process than anaerobic digestion.
However coming up with efficient and inexpensive ways to harvest biogas can be

scarce. This chapter would show examples of innovative digesters being tried out in

Landfills are the third largest source of human related methane emissions in the
United States, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Biogas from landfills is also called landfill gas (LFG), as the digestion process
takes place in the ground rather than in an anaerobic digester. As of March 2015,
there were about 645 operational LFG projects in the United States, according to
EPA. However, most of these projects use biogas to produce electricity rather than
power natural gas vehicles.
Creative use of landfill gas (LFG) includes heating greenhouses, producing electricity
and heat in cogeneration applications, firing brick kilns, supplying high Btu pipeline
quality gas, fueling garbage trucks, and providing fuel to chemical and automobile
manufacturing. Projects range from small scale community driven initiatives to multi
million dollar private investments.

Epigenetic Regulation
Backgrounds
Epigenetic changes can be defined as functional, heritable changes in DNA, that do
not involve a change in the nucleotide sequence[1]. Transcriptional regulation can be
controlled through epigenetic modification and thereby can affect gene expression
(44). Epigenetic modifications are important regulators of numerous biological
processes like spermatogenesis. Nowadays there is a lot of attention to epigenetic
changes as a role in identifying genetic causes of male infertility. In fact epigenetic
regulations play an important role in proper spermatogenesis and fertility
preservation (45).

Both these question can be answered on the same page. A number of aspects of the
universe can be understood only in the light of more recent unifications theories.
To understand the GUT era or Grand Unification Theory era we need to know that
it occurred when the universe was subject to the force of gravity and GUT force.
The GUT force predicts that the strong force becomes unified with the weak and
electromagnetic forces at energies above 10^14 GeV. The Grand Unified Theory
states that for the three forces to merge together, the temperature of the universe has
to be greater than 10^32 K. The GUT era lasted until the temperature of the universe
dropped to about 10^29 K. at this point the GUT forces separated into
electromagnetic and strong forces. This temperature was reached when the universe
was at the young age of about 10^ 36 of a second. This sudden cooling caused
something called inflation. Inflation was a rapid and sudden expansion of the
universe. Basically the unified theories state that the four forces, strong,
electromagnetic, weak, and gravitational will merge at extremely high temperatures.
Although we have a few assumptions about the GUT, scientist have not been able to
succeed in creating the details that have to do with a supergrand unified theory, also
referred to as the theory of everything.
To help explain how the four forces each play a role in today s universe today we
need to know what they are. Gravity is probably one of the easiest of the four
The Bombing Of The United States Essay
On September 11th, 2012 a United States outpost in Benghazi, Libya, was attacked.
Leaving four Americans killed, Ambassador Chris Stevens, Information Officer Sean
Smith, and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both former Navy
SEALs. Stevens is the first U.S. ambassador killed in an attacksince Adolph Dubs
was killed in 1979. Questions have continued to arise over the role of then Secretary
of State Hillary Clinton in the attack or rather lack of role to do anything to help
these men. Hillary Clinton is essentially who to blame for the heart wrenching deaths
of these four Americans.
To being, I am going to talk about a little bit of background. The attack was
coordinated against two United States government facilities in Benghazi, Libya by
members of the Islamic militant group Ansar al Sharia. (The Atlantic Times, Pg 1,
2016) At 9:40 PM, September 11, members of Ansar al Sharia attacked the American
diplomatic compound in Benghazi (CNN.com pg 1, 2016), resulting in the deaths of
U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and U.S. Foreign Service Information
Management Officer Sean Smith. The timeline shows that at around 4:00 AM on that
day, the group launched a ordinance attack against a CIA annex approximately one
mile away, killing CIA contractors Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty and injuring
ten others. At the Command of the CIA, top U.S. officials initially described the
attacks as the product of a unplanned protest triggered by recently released
Energy Sources Of Energy Source Essay
Energy is a big part of our lives. We are heating our homes with natural gas or
electricity and driving to and from work and any other outdoors activities. Our main
source of the energy people use is fossil fuels and in the future, the availability of
those sources has an end date. As studies show there are renewable resources of fuel
and other equipment used for energy like wind, nuclear powerplants and solar
hydroelectric. There are many pros and cons to all forms of energy source, and they
all have their own merit. Also, the energy sources that people use does have floss and
can cause a negative impact on the environment, and humans. The most important
goal is reducing the overall use of our energy sources.
The main two kinds of energy used in my daily living are electricity, fossil fuel, which
is a type of biomass. The main fuel people use is fossil fuels. This day in age, it is
impossible to function without having a vehicle. The only vehicle that, I drive is
running on gasoline. In a normal week, my commute to my job is 20 miles round
trip, which is in a different town than where I live. Single mom of two children in
the same household consumes around 500.00 per month, it would be impossible to
bring all the food home if, I was to walk. Children have many different needs than
parents have. Single moms have to work and the children go to school. The central
heating in my house does not normally get turned on until its below 55 in the
apartment. With
Jigsaw Movie Comparison
The infamous Saw series just recently added their newest installment Jigsaw .
Jigsaw acts as both a sequel as well as a prequel to the Saw movies. For those who
are not familiar with the series, the movies contain the main character John Kramer
better known as Jigsaw. The most recent movie titled Jigsaw follows the same plot
as the first seven movies. John Kramer a psychopath who is on a mission to show
his victims that they need to appreciate life in order to keep their own. Kramer sets
up a sick and twisted game by putting several individuals in situations in which they
choose their fate. Live or die make your choice. Jigsaw. Some of these games
(pictured below) include buckets being put around their heads and chains attached...

A lot of people argue that John Kramer was not a murderer because he did not lay
hands on these victims resulting in their deaths, and he gave them the option to
live or die. Or at least die trying... Here is where I completely disagree. Though
Kramer did not physically put his hands on these victims and kill them, he still had
to carefully consider every option on how each one of his contraptions and games
would play out. He had to know that these victims could face the punishment of
death in which he decided how they would die in those specific scenarios that he
thought up. Jigsaw purposely instilled fear into his victims and for most he forced
into playing the games because they knew that they re ultimate consequence would
be death if not. John Kramer was in a position of power and though he claimed to
be teaching the lesson on how much a life is actually worth, he was abusing life and

Beowulf From The Old English Class Essay
Leaning by the door of classroom at early 8:00 am, holding Brave New World as
preparing for the first quiz and waiting for my teacher, Mrs. Palmer, dragging her
document box from afar, it was the first impression of my junior English class. As
an international student coming on sophomore year, I was assigned to take ESL
classes, known as the English as Second Language, for the first year. Therefore,
Mrs. Palmer s class was my first bit of the authentic English class. To be honest, I
never liked early classes, especially for English which requires some sophisticated
critical thinking because the tedious lecture seems like a lullaby to me; however, in
fact, Mrs. Palmer has proved my stereotype was totally wrong by her excellent
teaching styles.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Palmer s class. She loves using simple and euphonic phrases to summarize the
seemly hard readings and make easy for everybody to remember. When we were
going to take lectures about Beowulf from the Old English Literature, she stood on
the podium smiling, put down her glass with arm akimbo as if there would be an
important announcement, suddenly and joyfully said Please keep in mind Beowulf
good; Grendel bad. This question will appear on the midterms and final. Indeed, this
line not only showed up in the tests, but also becomes a key to understand the
reading comprehensively. As I read, I found that Beowulf is a true hero traveling
from afar to protect Gest from these supernatural demons. Beowulf is good because
of his loyalty and gallantry; Grendel is bad because of evilness. In addition to that, in
order to demonstrate the positioning between commas and quotes, Mrs. Palmer
composed the song of Comma and Quote with the rhythm of waltz Comma, quote,
comma, quote, comma, quote, quote! . To be honest, it felt a little bit embarrassing
when we stood up and sang the song, but, no doubt, the orders of using quote and
comma has curved in our mind which benefit our writing
Type 1 Diabetes Essay
There are two types of diabetes that occur not due to pregnancy: Type 1 and Type 2.
Type 1, also known as insulin dependent and juvenile diabetes occurs because of a
genetic hiccup in which the pancreas beta cells can t properly create and distribute
insulin, causing the individual to have to take injections. The second type of diabetes,
Type 2, occurs when the body can t make enough insulinfor adequate function of the
body, albeit from age or weight. In this type of diabetes insulin injections are less
common (although can still be prescribed depending), which is why the main focus
and recommendations will be based on Type 1 diabetic mothers.

Using a population based study, researchers used a Medical Birth Registry in
Sweden, gaining data on about 5,000 type 1 diabetic pregnancies. They also used
approximately 1,200,000 pregnancies deemed healthy as a control group. In studying
these births and the health of the children from 1991 to 2003, researchers found a
prominent correlation between type one diabetic mothers and preeclampsia, cesarean
section delivery, . . . still births, perinatal mortality, and major malformations. On top
of these issues, there was a seen increase in preterm births and cases of fetal
macrosomia among the diabetic group (Persson, Norman, Hanson, 2009, p. [Page
#]).(Persson, Norman, Hanson, 2009)
To get even more specific, a study was done about the sole issue of the number of
stillbirths that result in diabetic pregnancies. Using pregnancies from 1990 2000,
researchers analyzed characteristics of the pregnancy: the mother, her control over
her diabetes, the pregnancy itself, and the still born. Looking through 1300 women,
25 stillbirths were found among 22 women. Within those stillbirths, 9 were caused by
poor glycemic control, with the rest due to explainable (smoking, poor environment,
diabetic nephropathy etc) or unexplainable causes.
To further test how insulin boluses change through out pregnancy, a study was
conducted to test the difference between the use of an insulin pump
The Day My Dad Passed Away
May 11th 2001 A.K.A the day my dad passed away. The murderer was Leukemia.
For most people it s easier to lose your dad than your mom but my dad doubled as a
mother figure. My other birth parent walked out on my dad and I for this guy who
was like a hundred years younger than her. Cougar? No extreme cougar. The most
terrible thing about the even was that dad was in love. The feeling, apparently, wasn t
mutual. Anyway, because of the events that have occurred, I have to move in with
my AuntMel and my Uncle Pete. I ve been living with my cousins but they just got a
job opening in China and it s just too much work to have to move and learn a new
language. My aunt and uncle live in New York City which is where I have always
wanted to breathe in. . . . Okay I just need to say one thing. Airports totally suck. I
have to practically get undressed to just get on the plane. Plus there s too many
people so it s super confusing and chaotic. Forget the airport, the plane is even
more worse. My grandma made me watch the whole series of Final Destination at
her nursing home every time I went to visit. Everything in the whole world terrifies
me all because of that series. All that I could think about on the plane was one of
the engines going out and who would come to my funeral. So it turns out New York
lived up to expectations. Buildings so close together, BROADWAY, and even
McDonald was way better! Oh and did
Theodore Roosevelt s First Progressive President
Theodore Roosevelt is considered by many to be America s first progressive
president due to his conservationism, his military prowess, and the natural ease with
which he handled national and worldwide politics. He had a vision for the place he
wanted America to be, a courage that made him admirable, and a jovial attitude that
made people love him. Not only did he take steps to make the office of president
more important than it once was, he tried to do so in ways that were important. One
of these ways was by protecting the natural beauty of America so that it would not be
entirely depleted before it could replenish itself. Another way was by proving his
leadership, his bravery, and his dedication to complete the task at hand in the military.
His struggle for equality in his nation and international peace also show his
determination to make the world better. These points prove that Theodore Roosevelt
had his eyes set on the future and was determined to move toward it.
Conservationism, the preservation and protection of natural resources, is something
that Roosevelt frequently stressed the importance of during his presidency. Roosevelt
believed that the government had a responsibility to take care of the nation s
environment, so he worked to create many parks, agencies, and acts to do so ( The
Theodore Roosevelt Administrations. ). The President even said, ...natural resources
are not limited by the boundary lines which separate nations, and that need for
conserving them upon
National Honor Society Personal Statement
As a freshman at the University of Maryland, I am pursuing a Masters degree in
Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security. I formerly attended the
Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George s Community College, a dual
enrollment program in which I graduated with my High school diploma and an
Associates of Arts degree in General Studies. Having a unique experience by
attending these different school has allowed me to become familiar with technical
communication in a multitude of ways, whether it is in the work place or school
related. Being vice president of the national honor society, being a barista at Peet s
coffee shop, and with being fluent in multiple languages I have used technical
communication to encourage people to take action in a multitude of ways. Whether it
was influencing people to join the national honors society or trying to get customers
to buy a new coffee drink, I have consistently been able to encourage others to take
action with whatever it may be. Over time I have learned the do s and don ts of being
a technical communicator, and I now understand what must be done to accomplish a
task through technical communication.
Being the Vice President of the National Honor Society (NHS), it was of paramount
importance for me to present the benefits of not only being a member of the
National Honor Society but to present all of the opportunities available from being a

The Swimmer By John Cheever
Shep Davis Mrs. Smith English 102 27 April, 2016 The Swimmer In the short
story The Swimmer John Cheever characterizes Neddy in a selfish and content
manner to illustrate his detachment from society. The swim that Neddy starts in the
beginning of the play seems fun and innocent in nature. He enjoys stopping at all
of his friends and families house drinking every time after he finishes swimming
the pool. The drinking depicts his easy lifestyle, lack of care for the world, and his
detachment from society. The repetition of drinking eventually is what brings him
to his cold and bewildered reality because he has suppressed everyone around him
by only wanting to swim. At the end of the story he is left with no friends to talk
with or family to care for him because he has been self centered. He also is unaware
of what has transpired while he was swimming. This displays his mindsets lack of
care for others he just wants to drink and have a good time. However as he
progresses he goes further into his loop of the pools, and he desires to swim in
more and more. This loop symbolizes his life, and how he is not progressing or
doing anything important with it. He wants to just go around in circles hiding
from reality. The irony is he is left poor and all of his friends leave him. His entire
image of life, and how he wanted to live was based on himself and money. After the
money disappeared so did his companions because he was living a life that did not
value relationship or care.

executed twenty people, fourteen being women. Four explanations that were
discussed in lecture were mass hysteria, fungus in the rye, social control and the
legacy of Indian wars. The mass hysteria theory suggests that the people of the
town became so obsessed and overwhelmed with religious faith motivated purely
by superstitions and rumors. These rumors and superstitions caused the people of
Salem to be fearful of anyone who stepped out of their definition of normalcy. The
fungus in the rye theory suggests that people who consumed the rye ended up
hallucinating because the mold contained similar elements to LSD. The social
control theory states that people of lower income and status started to accuse the
wealthy of witchcraft. This was used as a form of revenge. Lastly the theory of the
Indian war implies that men of political power began utilization of fear as a cover up
for their failure to protect the northern area. Therefore created the idea of witchcraft

The Theme of Ancestry in Alexie s Poem What the Orphan...
If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all
generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is
present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people (Hanh). The
defining of a person begins first from their ancestry. The importance of family is
vital in every person s life and the reason for this is because families are the group
structure the mostly in every cases tries to be and do the best for each other.

characteristics of their ancestry and culture in their inspirational and touching poems.

One hand shades her eyes in case the sun should see the glistening teat that
trembles and slides; from the other hand hangs the pouch filled with names (Rose

memories of her ancestors cause her pain because she feels emptiness since they
are not with her anymore; this supports the idea that the poem is evaluative and
personal. For bringing us the horse we could almost forgive you for bringing us
whisky (Alexie A). This part of the poem is noticeably a metaphor in which the
author describes their conception of useful and useless: they re mostly inclined
towards the wrong stuff, but a good offering will almost overlap the vices, even
though they always come first, just as is usual with some Native American people.
It shows that it is personal and evaluative because they re criticizing their habits and
moral values. Evidently, the importance of ancestors and Indian characteristics such
as tradition, family, language, alcohol (this characteristic is mostly shown only in
Alexie s poem), etc., are shown in both of the poems. On the other hand, Sherman
Alexie tends to describe more about the Indian society in his poems. The poem
What the Orphan Inherits demonstrates the various important aspects of the life of

Equal Employment Opportunity Diversity
Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and Workforce Diversity:
Cases, Laws, Philosophies, Values and their Future

Abstract
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action and Diversity are key
concepts of public human resources management in the United States. Human
Resource Managers must pay careful attention to these concepts and their values in
order to keep their work place compliant, positive and free of controversy. One has to
understand the values, history and laws that have shaped each of these concepts. This
essay will attempt to briefly outline each concept, divulge briefly into their formation

If this level of customer service is adopted by policy in a public agency, it will soon
become evident in the management style and eventually will trickle down into the
hiring. If a public agency can adopt a high level customer service policy, that
constantly seeks feedback from its customers, the tax payer. If this feedback, then
become a factor for evaluation and appraisals, the management and hiring will
become conscious of efficiency and try to mimic the diversity of the population in
their hiring. This aggressive diversity management system coupled with EEO could
be great option for public agencies to be diverse and eliminate Affirmative Action.
While the author understands that there are other complex issues and arguments
surrounding this topic, the concept of the tax payer forcing the public agency to

Class Inequality Impacted Individuals On The Lower End
Of...
Many individuals in the country are struggling to make ends meet on a good day,
so what happens when disaster strikes? They are unprepared, have a harder time
recovering, and their risk and devastation are increased in the disaster. Class
inequality impacts individuals on the lower end of the scale. They have less access
to resources to prepare themselves before the disasterstrikes, and after disaster
strikes they have even less resources to recover with. Lower class individuals are
also at a higher risk of devastation during a disaster because they cannot always
escape before the disaster hits or have the potential to live in areas that are less
likely to be affected. Individuals with less resources are often times unprepared for
disasters because all of their time, money, and energy is spent on what is currently
happening. For many, they cannot afford to pay all of their bills on time and
cannot put money back for emergencies that may or may not happen. A lot of
individuals with lower incomes or no incomes are already living in places that are
unsafe, and many do not own their own homes and do not have renter s insurance
because in their opinion that is an extra unnecessary bill. Some individuals are not
healthy enough to prepare for disasters because they cannot afford health care and
can barely work enough to stay in poverty and out of homelessness. In the case of
homeless individuals, they have no resources whatsoever. If they live in shelters or on
the streets

Impacts of Tourism in Vancouver Essay
Tourism is an endeavour sought by an individual or a party of individuals, which
leads to a movement from one place to another with the idealism of a specific task, to
visit a place or several places with the primary purpose of achieving entertainment and
increasing knowledge of countries, cultures, and their history. The expression largest
industry in the world is universally used with mention to tourism, ensuring its
recognition as the largest generator of wealth (over 11.7% of the global gross
domestic product) and employment (7% of the world s jobs); this shows that tourism
is indeed an important industry that depends on culture and legacy.(Budeanu, 2002)

In Vancouver the impacts of tourism is shown through cultural issues related to
economic growth and through the analysis of social issues. It is how the city of
Vancouver copes with their mistakes and strives for improvement that the world is
able to understand the true importance that tourism can have on any
destinations.Gilbert Keith Chesterton a British journalist, novelist and poet once said,
The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist see what he has come to see , by saying
this it is enforced that tourists come to Vancouver in order to take in the sights of
nature that are around every corner and to delve into the many attractions that
Vancouver has established with the sole purpose of attracting vacationers. With the
appeal of vacationers there is an escalation in occupation spots and which will lead to
a lower unemployment rate (Figure 1), although this is a positive aspect of increasing
tourist population the negative effects are bountiful.
The use of natural resources to attract tourists, if successful, leads to the obligation of
an infrastructure upon nature . Over time, it is the manmade structures that maintain
the desirability of the tourist resort, not the natural features that prompted the

introduced as Orthorexia. Orthorexia is the unhealthy obsession with eating healthy
food (Bratman S. 1996.) Not to be confused with anorexia, orthorexia does not base
itself upon the idea of unhealthy restriction, but instead health and purity. Orthorexia
is a relatively new disorder than compared to its similar counterparts; bulimia,

In a situation when the only options to eat are deemed unhealthy , a sufferer would

This can result in edema, which is the inflammation of the liver, which often distends

Complexity And Algorithms That Can Take An Impossible...
Complexity and Tractability
The area of tractability explores problems and algorithms that can take an
impossible amount of computation to solve. Tractable problems can be roughly
defined as problems that can be solved in a reasonable amount of time, while
intractable problems are those which take too long to solve to be useful. Finding
solutions to these problems is a key problem in computer science today and has been
for many years. It is also important for a computer scientist to recognise intractable
problems as it would be a huge waste of time trying to write a program to an
intractable problem. It would be better to recognise this and take a different more
suitable approach that would save time and effort but also would come up with a
valid solution. However there are advantages to making a problem intractable though
as when securing things using intractable codes which cannot be hacked into easily.
Complexity can be simply defined as a rough estimation of amount of time it takes a
particular algorithm to solve a problem. This is not only measured in time but can
be expressed as the number of steps taken in order to solve a problem. It is
important to be able to measure the complexity of a problem as this can help to
indicate how good/effective an algorithm will be and whether it is tractable or
not.One of the most popular intractable problems that has been found is the Traveling
Salesman problem. This problem represents a salesman who wants to find the shortest
Capitalism In Norris s Mcteague, By Frank Norris
In the reading, McTeague, by Frank Norris, a dentist named McTeague watches
the day to day lives of San Francisco s various laborers through the bay window of
his Dental Parlor. McTeague noticed that the street was always occupied by people
with different kinds of people at specific times of the day. Since San Francisco is
described as full of energy because of the people in it, it is inferred that the city has a
personal, tied connection to its inhabitants. Frank Norrisportrayed the city as full of
liveliness and excitement to showcase how San Francisco itself is its own main
character with humanlike characteristics, ultimately suggesting that capitalism
makes a city thrive. First and foremost, the chronological timed schedule in which
the people of San Francisco rely on is shown as a continuous cycle that keeps the
city up and running. The narrator states, A little later, following in the path of the
day laborers, came the clerks and shopgirls [...] always in a hurry, glancing
apprehensively at the powerhouse clock. (155) Not only does this quote show that
the city is a busy area where countless things are happening, but also shows how it
runs on a clock that lets people know where they have to be and when. The
powerhouse clock is a symbol of how San Francisco has a biological clock similar to
what humanshave. Norris writes that the street wakes breakfasts and sleeps in order
to show that the street is comparable to a living organism. Through the usage and

on the famous HMS Beagle and his exploration of the Galapagos Islands. On his
voyage on the Beagle he was instructed to chart stretches of coastlines of South
America, but as he explained that he wasn t any Picasso, his sketches ended up
poorly drawn. As we all know, Darwin has never been the type to enforce rules, and
plus charting coastlines is just the most boring job a person can do. As well as
charting, he shared his strange fascination on his observations of how the
characteristics of plants and animals suits only specific environments in South
America. He explained how plants and animals in similar geographic and climate
zones have a similar resemblance. With great enthusiasm, Charles addressed my half
brother and wife saying, Tom Bradey, 3 time MVP and 4 time super bowl winner, oh
and the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens Ramolia! You must see how my observations and

  • 2. The Paris Peace Conference Of 1919 Owen McManus Mrs. Shandera, Mrs. Swartz English 11 Pd.8, AP History Pd.1 10 February 2017 Creating More Problems The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 opened on the 18th of January, with delegations from all over the world attending to lay claim to their desires, or gain reparations for their sacrifices throughout the greatest war the world had ever been subject to. The big four countries at the negotiating table were the British under Lloyd George, the French led by Georges Clemenceau, The Italians and their prime minister Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, and The United States of America under President Woodrow Wilson. Each group had their own ideas for a post war world order, and their own tactics for reaching it. The actions of these victorious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This leads to the British and French skirting around Wilson s goals, meeting secretly to make decisions about the post war world, and to further their own, often imperialistic, prerogatives. The Treaty of Versaillesagreed upon in 1919 set in motion events that would be direct causes of World War II. According to Robert Cowley, the treaty stripped Germany of many territories, including Eupen Malmeacutedy, given to Belgium, Alsace Lorraine to France, large amounts of eastern lands to Poland, the Memel region to Lithuania, and most of the Schelswig area of the Danish peninsula to Denmark. Germany lost all of her overseas colonies as well. It also forced Germany to limit their army to 100,000 men, and forbade them certain types of weapons common to modern armies. The worst part of all was that Germany was made to assume all the guilt for the war, and forced them to pay an amount of war reparations unspecified at first, then set around 33 billion gold marks(Cowley). World War One: Treaties says that the peace terms imposed upon the defeated countries, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Bulgaria, seemed to them to be unfair and unjust punishments.

Motors are everywhere, the power almost everything we use, from kitchen supplies to our automobiles and transport even to kinds toys, they are the essence of putting an object into motion. • 4. Social Welfare Policy Analysis For Social Workers Essay Plan to Influence Policy In order to conduct meaningful change and to be effective in influencing policy, there must be a well thought out plan in place. In the text The Policy Based Profession: An Introduction to Social Welfare Policy Analysis for Social Workers by Popple and Leighninger (2015) they argue that For an action strategy to be effective, it is imperative that the people taking the action have a firm grasp on the problem they are dealing with and on achievable goals. You must do your homework before taking action (p. 262). It is crucial that we do our homework when it comes to influencing policy for medicaid expansion in Texas. This includes having a better idea on who our coalition partners are, these are individuals and groups who share a common goal and purpose. This also includes knowing some strategies to increase public awareness, and as well what potential barriers may lie ahead that could possibly influence our success. Coalition Partners The state of Texas currently has a coalition set up solely to help with medicaid expansion in Texas, the coalition is called Cover Texas Now. Their mission statement states that they are a coalition of consumer and faith based organizations whose mission is to see the state of Texas implement a sustainable health care system and provide quality affordable health coverage to its citizens (Cover Texas Now, 2016, para. 1). The Democratic Party is the oldest continuing party in the United States. A new coalition of Westerners, Southerners, and non property owning white men emerged from the Democratic Republican Party and formed the Democratic Party. The core beliefs that tie the Democratic Party together are: Democrats believe that they are greater together than on their own, that the country succeeds when everyone has an equal opportunity, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. The Democratic Party is focused on building an economy that lifts up all Americans, not just those at the top. For more than two hundred years,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. A Sunrise On The Veld Poem Analysis How Two Completely Different Stories Can Have So Many Similarities The short stories, A Sunrise on the Veld and At the Pitt Rivers , have nothing in common if you analyze them on a shallow literature level. A Sunrise on the Veld by Doris Lessing, highlights some of the reasons why life is so valuable. Lessing hints her readers that this short story is set somewhere in the desert by, ... the flesh of his soles contracted on the chilled earth, and his legs began to ache with cold... He slung the shoes over his shoulder... they would be necessary when the ground became too hot to bear, (Lessing, pg. 1212). Most deserts get heated by the sun by day, but loses the heat at night. The boy starts hunting, at first, but then is distracted by a wounded buck. Seeing this buck suffer, depicts him especially sad. A boy is also the protagonist in At the Pitt Rivers by Penelope Lively. This boy spends his time in a museum, observing people and writing poems as the time passes. He keeps track of a couple he sees at the museum. The couple catches his attention because they are not his ideal of what a couple should look like. If a kindergartener read these two short stories, he/she would find nothing in common with the stories. But, if the reader has the ability to analyze the text in more depth, he/she would find that they are more similar than the kindergartener would think. As an advanced reader, a comparison that is prevalent in both stories is, society s thinking of the ideal
  • 7. A Brief Note On Ford s Autonomous Car Ford s Autonomous Car Most of the automotive companies believe that the next generation of cars are going to be autonomous vehicles, but not all of them have the same opinion about it. Some companies want to bring a fully autonomous car to reality, which wouldn t need any human interaction to drive the car, while other ones are interested in driverless cars, which need humans to drive them. Both autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and both aim to give more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for drivers and passengers, but the idea of an autonomous car on the roads raises some questions about the safety of it and the responsibility over a car like this. A driverless car can have most of the autonomous features, it just needs someone to drive it, and then the control would also be from a person that would be more watchful and take responsibilities over the car. Ford is going to launch an autonomous car. The company already has a semi autonomous one in market, the Fusion hybrid, and they say that the car is automated, but by automated they mean that it is capable of automated operation under the supervision of a human driver. Ford already have one step in automated driving, and in five years they are going to bring two new innovative features that are going to be essential for self driving cars; one is the fully automated parking that allows the vehicle to park itself with no help from the driver, the driver just have

The important stages that the movie specifically demonstrates are: Refusal of the Call, The Ordeal, and The Resurrection. The Refusal of the Call is when the herosenses fear of the unknown and tries to avoid the dilemma, and it s when they refuse to perform what they are asked to do for any reason. Hollywood has made some problems with this movie. So why did Hollywood change things? For a better movie? Maybe they just didn t find all the facts. Maybe Hollywood just didn t get their facts straight. King Baldwin IV was a real person and he did have leprosy. He did have a sister who gained the throne in later years as well. The problem is that Hollywood forgot to mention his five year old nephew having the throne for a short time before his sister. In fact, Helena Schrader says, In 1188 Saladin released Guy de Lusignan, taken captive at Hattin. He went first to Antioch to be reunited with his wife, Queen Sibylla. Why did Hollywood change this? Probably to appeal to the heart tearing side of the story. Why the name change of Balian to Godfrey? The fact is it would be confusing if you had two people in the movie with the same name. Kingdom of Heaven is a very well put together movie with some nonfictional as well as fictional information. The idea of this is to show you that you should not believe everything you see. Guista English 101 14 Oct. 2010 Oleanna is a two character play about a power struggle between a University Professor, John, and a student, Carol, who accuses John of sexual harassment. The play begins when John, a condescending University Professor who holds power with his status, expresses his frustration at Carol s class performance as she deduces that he is buying a house. He feels she is, in reality, bright but troubled, and she agrees, citing her social and economic background as impediments to her class performance. • 14. Hip Hop Politics, Class Unity And The Internet In this essay, the influence of hip hop politics, class unity and the internet will be explored to discover how the consumer became an active producer of culture. In the early days of hip hop, particularly from its mainstream origins in the 70 s (Dimitriadis 2009) up until the 90 s, the underground scene rarely floated into the mainstream. Despite a good portion of the underground consisting of consumers, to achieve mainstream success one would need the right connections and musical equipment. Before these tools became affordable and accessible, the consumer wasn t integrated as an active producer of culture. Thus the average consumer wasn t capable of making major waves in the industry. In some respect, the mainstream producer carried a sense of prestige because there were only a few who garnered attention in the mainstream such as DJ Premier and Eric B and Rakim (Tom Terrell, 1998). During the early origins of hip hop, as Josh Kun describes, hip hop was mainly a facet of African American culture. As a result, many consumers from other backgrounds weren t majorly included in developing the hip hop culture. This, however, changed when icons such as Run DMC and Aerosmith broadened the scope of hip hop and allowed more consumers to play an active role in producing the culture. The popularity of the internet rose in the early 2000 s and it allowed the consumer to actively shape the culture. The internet allowed the consumer to create their own sounds and message and deliver it

This inquisition led Socrates to have many enemies. (Apology, 3) During the trial Socrates referred several times to the force of truth. He is implying that he wants Athenians to accept logical conclusions even if they may not want to. Socrates also claims that obsession with wealth and material things must never take precedence over the care of one s soul. Socrates challenges their values and asks if they are not ashamed of their eagerness to possess wealth, honor, and reputation and caring little about wisdom and truth and enriching their souls? Socrates is attempting to reveal to the jury that the soul is forever and is more important then physical obsession. Furthermore, he says that this is the command of God and that my service to you is to show you that I m here to improve your soul. A number of aspects of the universe can be understood only in the light of more recent unifications theories. To understand the GUT era or Grand Unification Theory era we need to know that it occurred when the universe was subject to the force of gravity and GUT force. The GUT force predicts that the strong force becomes unified with the weak and electromagnetic forces at energies above 10^14 GeV. The Grand Unified Theory states that for the three forces to merge together, the temperature of the universe has to be greater than 10^32 K. The GUT era lasted until the temperature of the universe dropped to about 10^29 K. at this point the GUT forces separated into electromagnetic and strong forces. This temperature was reached when the universe was at the young age of about 10^ 36 of a second. This sudden cooling caused something called inflation. Inflation was a rapid and sudden expansion of the universe. Basically the unified theories state that the four forces, strong, electromagnetic, weak, and gravitational will merge at extremely high temperatures. Although we have a few assumptions about the GUT, scientist have not been able to succeed in creating the details that have to do with a supergrand unified theory, also referred to as the theory of everything. To help explain how the four forces each play a role in today s universe today we need to know what they are. Gravity is probably one of the easiest of the four

At the end of the story he is left with no friends to talk with or family to care for him because he has been self centered. He also is unaware of what has transpired while he was swimming. This displays his mindsets lack of care for others he just wants to drink and have a good time. However as he progresses he goes further into his loop of the pools, and he desires to swim in more and more. This loop symbolizes his life, and how he is not progressing or doing anything important with it. He wants to just go around in circles hiding from reality. The irony is he is left poor and all of his friends leave him. His entire image of life, and how he wanted to live was based on himself and money. After the money disappeared so did his companions because he was living a life that did not value relationship or care.

Unredeemed Captive Dbq Question 1: Historical interpretation, 8 points The Unredeemed Captive affects our understandings of relationships between the colonists and the Native Americans by exploring the Native culture. After a raid by the French and Native Americans, seven year old Eunice was taken into captivity along with one hundred more people. Eunice s father, who was also captured, eventually returned home and went on a mission to get back his family. He received every one of his children except for Eunice. She had adopted the culture and religion of the Natives and they refused to free her. This appalled the colonists and those back in Britain. They did not understand why Eunice would want to take on such a savage lifestyle. In document 3.3 Committee of the Massachusetts Bay General Court, A... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These trials have brought up multiple theories to explain why the town of Salem executed twenty people, fourteen being women. Four explanations that were discussed in lecture were mass hysteria, fungus in the rye, social control and the legacy of Indian wars. The mass hysteria theory suggests that the people of the town became so obsessed and overwhelmed with religious faith motivated purely by superstitions and rumors. These rumors and superstitions caused the people of Salem to be fearful of anyone who stepped out of their definition of normalcy. The fungus in the rye theory suggests that people who consumed the rye ended up hallucinating because the mold contained similar elements to LSD. The social control theory states that people of lower income and status started to accuse the wealthy of witchcraft. This was used as a form of revenge. Lastly the theory of the Indian war implies that men of political power began utilization of fear as a cover up for their failure to protect the northern area. Therefore created the idea of witchcraft and started accusations in order to distract from their

All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people (Hanh). The defining of a person begins first from their ancestry. The importance of family is vital in every person s life and the reason for this is because families are the group structure the mostly in every cases tries to be and do the best for each other. Sherman Alexie and Wendy Rose are both poets that have expressed the characteristics of their ancestry and culture in their inspirational and touching poems. One hand shades her eyes in case the sun should see the glistening teat that trembles and slides; from the other hand hangs the pouch filled with names (Rose C). In this part of the poem it is very obvious that Wendy Rose describes how her memories of her ancestors cause her pain because she feels emptiness since they are not with her anymore; this supports the idea that the poem is evaluative and personal. For bringing us the horse we could almost forgive you for bringing us whisky (Alexie A). This part of the poem is noticeably a metaphor in which the author describes their conception of useful and useless: they re mostly inclined towards the wrong stuff, but a good offering will almost overlap the vices, even though they always come first, just as is usual with some Native American people. It shows that it is personal and evaluative because they re criticizing their habits and moral values. Evidently, the importance of ancestors and Indian characteristics such as tradition, family, language, alcohol (this characteristic is mostly shown only in Alexie s poem), etc., are shown in both of the poems. On the other hand, Sherman Alexie tends to describe more about the Indian society in his poems. The poem What the Orphan Inherits demonstrates the various important aspects of the life of an Indian. He describes how language, names, alcohol, time, and tradition are viewed in a general society, or in other words in every part of the world. To accomplish a

Human Resource Managers must pay careful attention to these concepts and their values in order to keep their work place compliant, positive and free of controversy. One has to understand the values, history and laws that have shaped each of these concepts. If this level of customer service is adopted by policy in a public agency, it will soon become evident in the management style and eventually will trickle down into the hiring. If a public agency can adopt a high level customer service policy, that constantly seeks feedback from its customers, the tax payer. If this feedback, then become a factor for evaluation and appraisals, the management and hiring will become conscious of efficiency and try to mimic the diversity of the population in their hiring. This aggressive diversity management system coupled with EEO could be great option for public agencies to be diverse and eliminate Affirmative Action. While the author understands that there are other complex issues and arguments surrounding this topic, the concept of the tax payer forcing the public agency to diversity, just as a the customers force a business to diversity is an appealing process to the
  • 35. Class Inequality Impacted Individuals On The Lower End Of... Many individuals in the country are struggling to make ends meet on a good day, so what happens when disaster strikes? They are unprepared, have a harder time recovering, and their risk and devastation are increased in the disaster. Class inequality impacts individuals on the lower end of the scale. They have less access to resources to prepare themselves before the disasterstrikes, and after disaster strikes they have even less resources to recover with. Lower class individuals are also at a higher risk of devastation during a disaster because they cannot always escape before the disaster hits or have the potential to live in areas that are less likely to be affected. Individuals with less resources are often times unprepared for disasters because all of their time, money, and energy is spent on what is currently happening. For many, they cannot afford to pay all of their bills on time and cannot put money back for emergencies that may or may not happen. A lot of individuals with lower incomes or no incomes are already living in places that are unsafe, and many do not own their own homes and do not have renter s insurance because in their opinion that is an extra unnecessary bill. Some individuals are not healthy enough to prepare for disasters because they cannot afford health care and can barely work enough to stay in poverty and out of homelessness. In the case of homeless individuals, they have no resources whatsoever. If they live in shelters or on the streets

Impacts of Tourism in Vancouver Essay Tourism is an endeavour sought by an individual or a party of individuals, which leads to a movement from one place to another with the idealism of a specific task, to visit a place or several places with the primary purpose of achieving entertainment and increasing knowledge of countries, cultures, and their history. The expression largest industry in the world is universally used with mention to tourism, ensuring its recognition as the largest generator of wealth (over 11.7% of the global gross domestic product) and employment (7% of the world s jobs); this shows that tourism is indeed an important industry that depends on culture and legacy.(Budeanu, 2002) Vancouveris feasibly one of the most prevalent tourist destinations in Canada... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Vancouver the impacts of tourism is shown through cultural issues related to economic growth and through the analysis of social issues. It is how the city of Vancouver copes with their mistakes and strives for improvement that the world is able to understand the true importance that tourism can have on any destinations.Gilbert Keith Chesterton a British journalist, novelist and poet once said, The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist see what he has come to see , by saying this it is enforced that tourists come to Vancouver in order to take in the sights of nature that are around every corner and to delve into the many attractions that Vancouver has established with the sole purpose of attracting vacationers. With the appeal of vacationers there is an escalation in occupation spots and which will lead to a lower unemployment rate (Figure 1), although this is a positive aspect of increasing tourist population the negative effects are bountiful. The use of natural resources to attract tourists, if successful, leads to the obligation of an infrastructure upon nature . Over time, it is the manmade structures that maintain the desirability of the tourist resort, not the natural features that prompted the original.(Ryan, 1991) Thus by focusing too much on attracting tourists

Orthorexia is the unhealthy obsession with eating healthy food (Bratman S. 1996.) Not to be confused with anorexia, orthorexia does not base itself upon the idea of unhealthy restriction, but instead health and purity. Marasmus occurs from a lack of energy, typically from a protein and/or calories. Body weight will reach an all time low and infections will be common. Kwashiorkor occurs in children as a result of a protein energy deficiency. This can result in edema, which is the inflammation of the liver, which often distends the belly, giving the illusion that the starving children are well fed ( How your body fights to keep you alive when you re starving, 2012.) Homeostasis cannot be maintained during starvation. During the final stages of starvation, death is mainly caused by cardiac arrhythmia or heart attacks. These are most often caused by either extreme tissue degradation brought about by autophagy, or severe electrolyte imbalances (Weiss T. 2016, Starvation and Death, para.
  • 39. Complexity And Algorithms That Can Take An Impossible... Complexity and Tractability The area of tractability explores problems and algorithms that can take an impossible amount of computation to solve. Tractable problems can be roughly defined as problems that can be solved in a reasonable amount of time, while intractable problems are those which take too long to solve to be useful. Finding solutions to these problems is a key problem in computer science today and has been for many years. It is also important for a computer scientist to recognise intractable problems as it would be a huge waste of time trying to write a program to an intractable problem. It would be better to recognise this and take a different more suitable approach that would save time and effort but also would come up with a valid solution. However there are advantages to making a problem intractable though as when securing things using intractable codes which cannot be hacked into easily. Complexity can be simply defined as a rough estimation of amount of time it takes a particular algorithm to solve a problem. This is not only measured in time but can be expressed as the number of steps taken in order to solve a problem. It is important to be able to measure the complexity of a problem as this can help to indicate how good/effective an algorithm will be and whether it is tractable or not.One of the most popular intractable problems that has been found is the Traveling Salesman problem. This problem represents a salesman who wants to find the shortest

Capitalism In Norris s Mcteague, By Frank Norris In the reading, McTeague, by Frank Norris, a dentist named McTeague watches the day to day lives of San Francisco s various laborers through the bay window of his Dental Parlor. McTeague noticed that the street was always occupied by people with different kinds of people at specific times of the day. Since San Francisco is described as full of energy because of the people in it, it is inferred that the city has a personal, tied connection to its inhabitants. Frank Norrisportrayed the city as full of liveliness and excitement to showcase how San Francisco itself is its own main character with humanlike characteristics, ultimately suggesting that capitalism makes a city thrive. First and foremost, the chronological timed schedule in which the people of San Francisco rely on is shown as a continuous cycle that keeps the city up and running. The narrator states, A little later, following in the path of the day laborers, came the clerks and shopgirls [...] always in a hurry, glancing apprehensively at the powerhouse clock. (155) Not only does this quote show that the city is a busy area where countless things are happening, but also shows how it runs on a clock that lets people know where they have to be and when. The powerhouse clock is a symbol of how San Francisco has a biological clock similar to what humanshave. Norris writes that the street wakes breakfasts and sleeps in order to show that the street is comparable to a living organism. Through the usage and

Today was the day I would finally get all my answers on the theory of evolution, from the master himself, or should I say father . As I opened the door, a mysterious old figure stood with a tortoise by his side: it was Charles Darwin. Quickly and eagerly he went into the dining room and eagerly cried, Guys! I am very glad to see you all! I need to tell you all everything, everything that I had found out about! Before my family had fully sat on their seats, he shared fascinating stories about his adventures and voyages. He began explaining his tails on the famous HMS Beagle and his exploration of the Galapagos Islands. On his voyage on the Beagle he was instructed to chart stretches of coastlines of South America, but as he explained that he wasn t any Picasso, his sketches ended up poorly drawn. As we all know, Darwin has never been the type to enforce rules, and plus charting coastlines is just the most boring job a person can do. As well as charting, he shared his strange fascination on his observations of how the characteristics of plants and animals suits only specific environments in South America. He explained how plants and animals in similar geographic and climate zones have a similar resemblance. With great enthusiasm, Charles addressed my half brother and wife saying, Tom Bradey, 3 time MVP and 4 time super bowl winner, oh and the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens Ramolia! You must see how my observations and these fossils have similar
