The Carrying Capacity Of A Tourist Resource
.
The carrying caapacity studies began during the 1930 s (O Reilly, 1986; Saveriades, 2000), they were
principally developed in the 1960 s in the national parks of the United States of America (McCool and
Lime, 2001; Manning et al., 2002).The carrying capacity concept is essentially a decision making
framework informed by the regular measurement of agreed indicators of quality. The concept of
carrying capacity was derived in the early 1960 s from range management and was applied to tourism
and hospitality management. It was concluded that carrying capacity is not just one single notion but
an amalgamation of four different carrying capacities which are namely physical, Ecological
psychological and Economical. Ecological carrying capacity relates to the maximum use of a tourist
resource without causing any harm to the environment. Social carrying capacity relates to the reaction
of the local people to the tourist development of the place, which should never be negative,
Psychological carrying capacity relates to the quality of visitors satisfaction with a certain tourist
destination, which is not to be decreased; Economic carrying capacity relates to the level of acceptable
dependence between the local economy and the level of the tourist development of a place, which
should never become too heavy
The carrying capacity of any tourist destination, whether it be an historic building, a beach or a dive
site, is not a single figure that can be calculated and fixed. It is a

Academic Tenure Essay
Typically the role of a professor or a teacher can be distorted or compromised. These issues are
typically not real, or are results of lies or misunderstandings. However at different times they are
proven to be true. Our society taken measures to safeguard professors from bound injustices or false
accusations. Certain ground rules and establishments have been set regarding tenure in the higher
education field have been set in place to offer the best regarding professors today.
Tenure is a type of job security that educators earn once they reach an exact level of expertise. Once a
educator has earned tenure, they need to be able to follow the teaching contract as long as they abide
by the rules set forth in their contracts. It s believed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tenure, in recent years, has become a step of heated rivalry throughout the U.S. higher educational
system like the continual employment of under performing teachers/professors.
In education, tenure is often thought of as a significant issue. There are several pros and cons with
reference to tenure. The primary advantage is that tenure prevents educators from being caught for
inappropriate reasons. Though anti tenure supporters can state that this can be now not applicable, the
actual fact is that before tenure lecturers were usually in trouble for private, political, or different non
teaching connected reasons. Female educators were relinquishing for inappropriate reasons, or being
seen at the incorrect institutions too late in the dark. Different teachers/professors can run into trouble
for teaching disputed subjects like evolution or for arguing with the diversity board or administration.
The second advantage is that irremovable educators can be very troublesome to dismiss. This can be
in all probability the foremost ordinarily detected criticism concerning tenure. Tenure doesn t grant
professors immunity from being fired from their positions, however it will create some issues within
the matter.
Tenure protects professors from false accusations. It offers educators protection from a state of affairs
wherever a teacher is fired, of investigate the matter and work with them through the prolonged legal
method. Dismissing irremovable

Chris Van Allsburg Essay
Chris Van Allsburg
Chris Van Allsburg has been named one of the most intriguing authors and illustrators of children s
books. He has a unique style that captivates children and adults alike. Often, a person s background
and experiences influence their work. Imagination has many roots into the childhood of an individual.
Chris Van Allsburg grew up in a quiet suburban setting in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During the 1950 s,
when he was a child, the town was a place that seemed like a haven for any young boy. There were
open fields that provided places for the children to enjoy a baseball game in the spring. The houses
were not separated by fences, but rather blended together by the yards. The setting in which he grew

His style was that of works that had a narrative feeling to them. The storyteller in him started to
become evident when they became available for display in New York City.
His big break as a children s book writer came as a result of his wife. She was a producer of a
television show and invited one of the show s guests home for dinner on night. After dinner she and
Chris Van Allsburg showed him some of his illustrations as part of a casual after dinner conversation.
He was immediately impressed and gave the number of Walter Lorraine, an editor with Houghton
Mifflin Company, to him and asked him to call him. When he finally contacted Mr. Lorraine, the man
was so impressed with his drawings that he convinced Chris Van Allsburg that he should venture into
children s book writing.
His first book was The Garden of Abdul Gasazi in 1979. He showed the world that he was a talented
storybook writer. The public responded by buying more than a million copies. This book also received
a Caldecott Medal Award. He would follow up with wonderful books such as The Mysteries of Harris
Bur*censored*.
Many people wonder how he gets the ideas for such intriguing tales. Chris Van Allsburg explains this
in many of his interviews. He always starts out with a picture. Then he asks himself questions about
the characters and the events occurring around the characters. What are

Catiline s Conspiracy
There are moments in history that can almost mirror later events. Patterns can be found in the types of
people that obtain power, how they obtain power, and what the circumstances of the state surrounding
their rises to power are. There are also events that can seem entirely different from each other, and yet
when looked at closely show real resemblance in specific ways that power shifts throughout history.
Catiline is an example of failure to secure power. He raised an army of revolutionists who were found
out before they could carry out their plan to murder hundreds of senators. Fidel Castro, who did
achieve power later in his political career, created a plan to attack that Moncada Barracks which
failed, in the end. Catiline s Conspiracy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catiline s was considered a failure as it was never actually executed because Cicero was informed in a
timely notion and took action to prevent it . Many of his followers were captured and executed
without trial, leaving him unable to take up arms against the senators as originally planned. Catiline
was then declared an enemy of the state. Of course, before the Senators could take real action against
Catiline, it needed to be proven to the citizens that he was a threat to Rome and its people. Catiline
gathered up troops to attack after he had fled Rome, but in the end was killed on the battlefield when
fighting against the Roman army . Fidel Castro s plan failed as well, but unlike Catiline, he managed
to at the very least start what he had intended. The 120 men that he recruited began their attack as
scheduled, and fair number of men made it into the Moncada Barracks but there were unplanned
patrol guards in cars and ended up detaining Castro and the rest of his men. Those who escaped went
into the wrong building because they were confused as to which building was the target building, so
rather than the barracks they entered the military hospital which was not the intended target. The men
of Fidel Castro that had made it to the inside of barracks reached their objective (obtaining the
weapons in the weapons depository) but by that point there was too much shooting because back up
had already been called in by the patrol guards who had seen Castro and his army. In the end, Castro
and his men ended retreating, but not before many of his men had died or been captured . Like
Catiline, Castro himself was able to escape from the Cuban government and he was even able to avoid
being put to death because of his relationship with the local Catholic bishop. Instead, he was put on
trial like many of his men (who were also tortured) and was declared guilty with a sentence of 15
years in prison . These two events show an

The Developement of Civilization Essay
The Developement of Civilization
According to Webster s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, civilization is a relatively high level of
cultural and technological development, specifically the stage of cultural development at which
writing and the keeping of written records is attained . Other sources trace the meaning of civilization
to political, economic, military and social structures as well as the heightened intellectual and artistic
aspects of life (Spielvogel, xxxi). Civilization developed as the crises of everyday life necessitated
change. As history progresses, we study our past in search of guidance and other crucial information
to help us along the way. The study of civilization also plays as an agent to defer us from ... Show

It is taken from the fossils of these people that language may well have began in this form of human
(Lerner,8). They had enlarged cavities in the front of the neck. Soon different dialects would run
rampant. These people, the Neanderthals, were also nomadic. They followed the herds along their
migratory patterns and gathered other sustenance consisting mostly of plants and their roots along the
way. It is believed that approximately 400,000 years ago, Homo erectus learned to use fire (Lerner,9).
They also began to travel farther distances, for the earliest evidence of the wheel used in travel was
found to be in 35,000 BCE (Calder,54). There is conflicting information as to when the Homo erectus
began evolving into the Homo sapien. Some say it was in 28,000 BCE (Lerner,9), others say it was
between 18,000 and 13,000 BCE (Spielvogel,3). Facts would point to the earlier years, where the
Sumerian city states, Egyptian Civilization (especially the Old Kingdom), and cuneiform began to
emerge. Groups of people advanced beyond their old hunting grounds at a rate of only two or three
miles per generation (Spielvogel,3). They began making waterproof shelters of their own. With this
new advance in addition to the discovery and use of fire, man was able to move to climates other than
the reasonably comfortable settlements of

How Did The Moonlight Influence Joseph Turner s Work
Joseph William Turner was born on April 23, 1775 and died on December 19, 1851 in London,
England. He was an English Romantic landscape painter that studied expressionistic light, color, and
atmosphere. When Turner was 10 years old, he lived with an uncle at Brentford, Middlesex, where he
attended school. His father sold Turners drawings as early as 1787 because they were so professional.
In 1789, Turner started at the Royal Academy schools where he began creating his watercolors. The
painters at the Royal Academy, were responsible for creating the 18th century with nocturnal subjects.
He spent most of his time touring the country in search of scenery to fill his sketchbooks with
drawings. These drawings would later be used for watercolors. ... Show more content on

This oil painting is a moonlight scene and known as an original mind by contemporary critics. The
strong power of nature is the main theme that brings greatness or sublime that inspires our thoughts.
The moonlight s contrast is delicate to the flickering lantern on the boat. This emphasizes nature s
power over humans and the fishermen s fate. After Fishermen at Sea, in 1799, he was elected an
associate of the Royal Academy at 24 years old; this being the youngest age a person can be elected.
In 1802, Turner had the dignity of signing a collection of large pictures, resulting him to become an
academician. Shortly after, he opened a private gallery to show his latest work. Turner s gallery was
extremely successful that resulted an obvious statement that his career of art was assured. As he was
traveling to search new ideas for art work in Wales, Yorkshire, the Midlands, Scotland, and the
European continent; he crossed the dangerous ocean to Calasis. In his picture, Calais Pier (1802 03),
he left an obvious sense of danger before his arrival. During his tour of France and Switzerland, he
completed more than 400 drawings of scenes that impressed him. In 1807, Turner began publishing

seascape paintings published as prints. This time for Turner has been described as, The pith of all that

Person who runs the business and person who assists and works for that person experience different
emotions and work to do, but both of these jobs have their own cons and pros. Person who assists to
run the business cares only about the wage that he or she gets in the end of the month, while the
businessman cares about the whole organization, including staff, all the property, wages of his

Compediate Reunion
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Huntington Beach, California) According to GroupTravel.org, approximately 66 percent of family
reunions take place during the summer months. More than half of these reunions involve somewhere
between 50 and 149 people, and keeping track of everyone s name can be difficult. This is especially
true when families only get together once a year of less often. Lanyards USA in California
recommends providing attendees with lanyards and name tags, as this helps to ease the introduction
process for those who don t know each other and those who are having trouble remembering names.
Printed Lanyards allow guests to recognize one another when they are in a public place, such as an

If the event is to be restricted to family members only, the lanyard allows those at the door to quickly

lanyards can smooth the reunion, Montrenes continues.
Planning a family reunion involves coordination of multiple details, and there are times when certain
details tend to be overlooked. For those who find they forgot to order lanyards or didn t even consider
making use of these accessories, time may be of the essence. In this situation, in stock lanyards may
offer a better option. For those with more time, however, custom lanyards tend to be preferred.
Consumers turn to use for their family reunion lanyards, as they know we have a large inventory in
stock and can ship right away. Customers who want custom lanyards find these items can be delivered
in as little as five days, thus everyone can select the option that best meets their needs, Montrenes
declares.

Theo s emotional development did compare with his normative development because he demonstrated
a pro social behavior. Since Raymond and Kenta were friends and were playing together, Theo was
cooperating with them and sharing ideas to come up with a game. This means that Theo could be pro
social for many reasons it is targeted at him for self interest such as to make himself look good in front
of the other two boys and to become friends with them (Steinberg, Bornstein, Vandell, Rook, 2011).

Outside View of a Large Distribution Center
Outside view of a large distribution center
A distribution center is a building or multiple buildings, that are primarily used as storage. For goods,
that retailers sell in their shops or online platforms. They store these goods until they are ordered to be
distributed, whether to business s or directly to customers. The main purpose for a distribution center
is to hold stock, until it is needed. These centers can often be shared by several small business s to
reduce overheads or are owned outright by larger companies, who rely on having large amounts of
stock, but do not have a large amount of shop space. They are also heavily relied on by online
companies, who use a digital shop platform.
Traditionally large retail chains such as Amazon own their own distribution centers. This minimizes
their overheads, by cutting out the middle man. You will tend to find that large retail chains have more
than one distribution center. They tend to place them strategically throughout the countries that they
ship to. Small independent retailers however cannot afford the overhead costs of owning their own
distribution centers. This means they have to go to third party centers which charge them a much
smaller overhead in comparison. This is because these third party services tend to serve more than one
small retailer. Meaning that the overhead costs are split between multiple business s rather than just
one.
There are three main area s within a distribution center, which are, the shipping

The Pythagorean Theorem is a2 + b2 = c2. We learnt the history of the pythagorean relationship, like
who made it and how it is made.We also found proofs of the relationship and learned to understand
why this relationship is true. We also learned that there are some rare relationships that exists between
Pythagorean numbers. We are very familiar with the pythagorean theorem and now we can solve
complex questions involving the pythagorean theorem now.

Analysis Of The Book The Principle
Selected lithograph Paper (Edited) The The Principle was lithographed in 1918 by the artist named
Oskar Kokoschka . The Principle is a stationary, bust sculpture like lithograph that depicts a sad
laughing clown. The lithograph seems like it takes place in a large bare room with the clown bust
gazing up and to the right of the room as if is pondering or thinking and has been for a very long time
which gives the bust like lithography life.
The Principle, was published in 1919 on cream, smooth, Japanese woven paper. Was published by
Verlag Gustav Kiepenheuer from Berlin with the theme of death and war with political. The art work
has blood splatter all over it, especially from the mouth the meaning is war with the clown face
showing some type of comic sadness, and sadness is the heart of all comedy.
He was friends with a sculptor and critic named Adolf Loos, which influenced Oskar to turn away
from many of his old ways of decorative ideas and move on an expressive style of painting. 1910 he
was in contact with many expressionist circles in Berlin, one specifically was Herwarth Walden who
pushed and spread his work out to many others. Oskar was in the Great War, he volunteered for the
Austrian Army when the war started, but was heavily wounded in 1915 and left the army. From 1916
to 1931 a fellow named Paul Cassirer who supported and showed many of Oskar works of art in his
gallery and published many of his works, during this time Oskar had moved to Dresden in 1917 and

Thomas Jones Landscape With Dido And Aeneas (Storm
Abstract
This is a visual analysis on the work of 18th century Baroque painter Thomas Jones. This paper
analyses Thomas Jones painting titled Landscape with Dido and Aeneas (Storm). Thomas Jones dates
this painting at 1792 or late Baroque period. The Baroque period in painting emphasized dramatic
scenes, richer colors and textures than in the Renaissance (Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2013). This
paper tries to analyze various formal elements of design, including color, line, and shape. Some
elements that make up the Universal Principles of Design are also considered for Jones s painting,
including proximity, the Rule of Thirds, balance, and composition. The Baroque period makes for
some interesting art and one can see how artworks such as paintings ... Show more content on

Juan Peron Essay
Juan Peron is only half of the story of populism in Argentina. His wife, Eva, played a major role in his
rise and contributed greatly to the maintenance of his power. She was loved by the masses because of
the social work that she pushed for and was responsible for the Peronist Women s Party, she also
played a, important role in attaining the franchise for women in 1947. (Burns 1986, 248)
Throughout the 1950s, Brazil continued to see a great deal of economic growth under President
Juscelino Kubitschek and his vice president Joao Goulart. Goulart had previously been Vargas
Minister of labour and was unpopular with the military because he was viewed as dangerously left
wing. He was on the ticket because of the coalition between the Labour Party and the Social
Democratic Party that had brought Kubitschek to power. (Calvert 1990, 127) Kubitschek unleased a
program of accelerated progress that aimed at fifty years of progress in five, but despite making
Kubitschek a popular leader, even at the end of his term, he left the country with high inflation due to
the debts take on to help industrialize. His successor s attempts to address the situation were hugely
unpopular with the poor and he left office less than a year after election, and he was replaced by
Goulart. (Wiarda 1996, 122 124) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to stress the role that populism played in creating this conflict, or if left right conflict is
deterministic accelerating this conflict. In both Argentina and Brazil it would have been almost
impossible to speak of labour, before populism, effecting any change as a movement. At best labour
movements has been tolerated by governments, although they had won few battles. The rise of labour
was never an independent movement in these countries. (Burns 1986,

The Selma March
Initially, African Americans were brought into America as slaves. As the Civil War between the north
and south broke out, it ended with the creation of amendments that, for the most part, abolished
slavery. The passing of those amendments was the start of change of in american as both the North
and South progressed differently during the reconstruction era. Considering that slaves were freed, did
not mean that society treated them as freed. The south, especially, continued to create laws, such as
Jim Crow or Black Codes, which deprived African Americans of their freedom. African Americans
were the race most affected by the laws. Soon problems arose against the negro community, to the

What Is Cultural Relativism
1. Cultural relativism relies on social ideals to dictate whether or not something is morally right or
wrong while ethical subjectivism that truth moral standard are dictated by each individual. These
forms of moral skepticism are completely inconsistent with ethical objectivism since it views moral as
something completely untouched by any beliefs, desires, and will.
3. Ethical subjectivism makes us morally infallible by making morality in the eye of the beholder,
which pretty much would lead us to believe that every individual is morally right. But this is simply
cannot be true since that would mean that an individual s thinking could be based off bias, prejudice,
ignorance, etc. and still not be mistaken.
5. Some would say that ethical subjectivism would generate contradictions and they would be correct.
Two individuals could agree and disagree respectively on whether or not New Jersey is on the east
coast, but then those theories would be inconsistent and contradict each other. But luckily for the
subjectivist, they found the perfect comeback for this critique, making it morally impossible to
disagree with anyone in the process. A subjectivist can say that they personally do ... Show more

There are two types of moral nihilism: error theory and expressivism. Error theory is the theory where
our moral judgement are wrong, that they re pretty much a sham. This theory could be compared to
atheism in a manner, especially since atheists and error theorist go against widely viewed ideals (a.e.
God and moral respectively). Expressivism might seem similar to error theory, but they differ in a
large way. They do not believe that any moral are true or false or have any moral value whatsoever.
Expressivists also believe that while moral judgement might look like they are moral facts, but really
those judgements are just us expressing emotions, showing our approval or disapproval in something.
But in the end, both error theory and expressivism both believe morals to be a

My Life Is My School
I was born May 28, 2003 in Dubuque, IA. And a major thing in my life is my schools. So, let me tell
you about those. The first school I ever went to was Early Learners where I learned the basics. But of
course in preschool you don t really get graded or anything. After all, it is pre school. But the second
school I went to was Table Mound. Over by Casey s and all those places. Table Mound was definitely
a big place for me. Back then anyways, I looked at it like it was a huge school. There I also had to
move because I was outside the school district, and we moved into a trailer. And the trailer was really
nice on the inside, and it had 2 bathrooms so I didn t really care. Next I went to Audubon, where I
moved back to my old house, where I still live now. Then I went to Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
And I like this place a lot. I like how we don t have to stay in one class, and I also like how we can
have our phones out at lunch. And I think I don t get as mad in class because if I get frustrated with a
teacher, I don t have to stay with them the whole day. And that s why I like middle school the most.
Most of my friends think I m funny but that s because they re easy to make laugh. And so am I, I
guess, but I think it s a good thing. In the future I want to be a computer programmer, like a person
that makes games. Or an electrician, but that s really only because it pays well, and a lot of my family
members were electricians too. Computer programmer because I play a

The Success Of Southwest Airline Company Essay
This week s case study is regarding the success of Southwest Airline Company. It was interesting to
read and see the success of Southwest uncovered. Reading these case studies it brings a different
approach to management. With this case, it shows how we have to be brave enough to step out of the
normal and go with our passion and calling in life. Herbert Kelleher was not your typical CEO. It was
fun, outgoing, witty and goofy.
1.
a. Airline customers are segmented in different groups: airlines must use the following criteria in order
to target their specific customers: identifiability, size, accessibility, growth potential, and absence of
vulnerability to competition:
i. Visit friends traveler ii. Independent traveler iii. Senior Traveler iv. Business
b. Southwest would try to market to all of them. However, would not appeal to the bigger business
owners. I would assume your higher companies they would want prefer first class with extended
options.
2. The decision to increase expansion on long hauls I think was a great idea. It not only open the door
to become profitable but also help keep their customers happy. Not everyone needed to fly short
distance. The only drawback I see is that the flights are uncomfortable and no food after five hours can
cause passengers to get cranky. However, if it is at half the price than you know what you are signing
up for.

Odysseus Heroic Qualities
A man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities is the
dictionary definition of a hero, but the qualities that make one a hero can differ drastically. In the
Odyssey, Odysseus plays the role of the heroic character. He is brave, able to overcome fear,
intelligent, cunning, and much more. Many characters in the Iliad could be perceived as the hero.
Personally, I think it was Patrocolus who took on that role, who was willing to sacrifice himself for the
better of his people. Heroes in the modern day are everywhere, but with much less recognition than
those in the Odyssey and Iliad. In addition to that, they don t have to take a 10 year journey facing sea
monsters and cyclops just to get home to be considered a hero. ... Show more content on

Some may argue that he isn t a hero at all, but I think that his heroic qualities, like bravery and
honesty, outweigh his not so heroic ones. Odysseus is brave because of the way he overcame a fear of
his for the benefit of his crew. When Odysseus and his crew landed on the island of Circe, she turned
Odysseus crew into swine, or pigs. Odysseus eventually persuades her to turn his crew back into men;
but when she does so, they were under a trance that she would only diminish if Odysseus went to the
Underworld. Odysseus was terrified, to say the least, but he chose to face his fear for the welfare of
his crew. This also made Odysseus selfless, which is a very important characteristic of a

Impact Of The Stono And Nat Turner s Rebellions
Matthew Howard Impact of the Stono and Nat Turner s Rebellions: Which was Worse Slavery was an
important economic factor, in the South, from colonial time through the early years of the United
States to the end of the Civil War. The methods used by the slaveholder, who owned large scale
plantations, in the south were harsh on the slave. Slaves were viewed as material properties used for to
be used for economic gain. One large scale plantation owner named John R. Williams wrote to another
slave , in a letter, ...Africans do seem to be made to be slaves. Their coarse manners and slow wits
show that they need outlet guidance... 1* Masters would do what was necessary to keep the slave
obedient and productive. This meant slaves that misbehaved would be physically punished, lose
privileges, or maybe even sold, separating them from their families. For these reasons slave often didn
t misbehave, but tension that builds up will be released in often violent ways. This is the reason for
frequent slave revolts. The these revolts were often led by a person or a group of people. They would
gather the unhappy slaves and lead them to rebel. Large slave rebellions were quickly dealt with by
state militias. After the revolts started, a militia would gather and quickly break up the groups. Whites
outnumbered Blacks in the south, so militias could not only use their better access to weapons, but
also their number to stop slave revolts. After rebellions a fear of more revolts would come

19th Century American Imperialism
Industrial revolution motivated European powers like France, Germany, and Britain to expand their
imperial rule in the 19th century. They believed imperial expansion and colonial domination were
necessary for their survival of their states and societies. Modern imperialism allowed European
powers to profit from subject societies and influence their affairs without having to apply direct
political control. Modern colonialism further allowed European powers to control the subject s lands

White colonizers believed that they had to impose their civilization on the distant lands because the
natives are uncivilized. It is the greatest possible mistake to suppose that a European can acquire a
greater influence by adopting the mode of life of the natives. In effect, it is to lower himself to their
plane, instead of elevating them to his (Capt. F.D. Lugard, 3). Imperialists viewed their beliefs as the
superior culture and if they were to adopt another culture rather than spread their, it would be a
downgrade for Europeans rather than help save the natives. Missionaries seek to introduce Christianity
to converts and other Europeans help civilized natives in political order and social stability.
Missionaries also have other benefits besides spreading Christianity. Missionaries help make
communication between imperialist and subject peoples easier, sometime provide information to
European officials on how to maintain control of oversea colonies, and their settlements also served as
a convenient meeting place for European overseas and as a distribution centers for European

Descriptive Essay On Halloween
My perfect Halloween would be a night of just chilling and watching a marathon of halloween movies
and eating sweets. the party s I would have will at mossy have 2 5 close friends and we would
probably just play video games if there is more than 3 people there. But costume wise if I did go
outside and walk around with my dogs I think I would just put on a onesie and show off my dressed
up pups. If I did buy candy I would just get an assortment of different kinds. But let s go into more
detail about these three ideal halloween must haves.
A perfect party for someone like me contains just a few friends or just even one close one just chilling
on a bean bag watching scary movies for hours on end wile eating our favorite halloween snacks. But
most importantly you need people that will just sit and talk because who dosent like to talk about
scary stories or ghost encounters. Like friends that commit to watching scary movies with you are real
friends because they show you their scared side unless there are stone and barely have any fears at all.
Halloween parties are fun with a lot of people but with a few close people you can do so much more
activities big crowds could t do. for instance hide and seek in a small house, video games that can only
handle two players at a time, and the price of just enough pizza for 2 or 3 compared to 15 or 20 is a
big difference.
If i got bored of that a perfect halloween costume would be a shark onesie and my dog on a leash and

from experience, my mother is 20 years younger than my father and they are always viewed as non
equals. Then the shot gets cut to Phil and Claire trying to juggle ten things at once while dealing with
their three children the stereotype that we observed is how families like that are always hectic and how
the dad of a teenager tries to be cool. Lastly we get to see Mitchell and Cam in an airplane on the way

Examples Of Briony Tallis In Atonement
Falsely accusing someone of a crime is no joke and it is also considered as a crime. But what happens
if the accuser strongly believed the individual they are accusing really committed the sinful act?
Briony Tallis, the main character of the novel Atonement by Ian McEwan, was exactly in this position
when she was thirteen. She had witness a sexual tension between her sister, Cecilia, and their
housemaid s son, Robbie through a series of events Briony misunderstood. McEwan then revealed that
the narrator for part three is no one else but Briony. While some are shocked about it, others are well

greatly she was mistaken and is compensating for her fallacious testimonies that ruined Cecilia and

accusing Robbie. This gives the sense that the novel is about Briony and not really the couple. It is

Sympathy verses Judgment in Carol Ann Duffy s poem Salome
The poem Salome by Carol Ann Duffy is written from the perspective of Salome, a promiscuous
woman who is retelling her drunken night. Although it is unclear whom Salome is speaking to, she
tells her story using informal, colloquial language, as if conversing to a group of friends. Duffy uses
Biblical allusions, which suggest that the speaker can be considered a reflection of the Biblical
character Salome, who appears in the New Testament and is infamous for demanding the head of John
the Baptist. Although Duffy seems to be retelling the traditional story of Salome, she depicts Salome
as a modern figure. The following analysis will explore the Biblical allusions in Duffy s poem, which
help to determine what the poem is about, and moreover will explore how Duffy uses the dramatic
monologue to provoke the reader to have sympathy for Salome. I thus contend that Duffy takes the
reader into the mind of Salome, a character that has traditionally been portrayed as an evil, amoral
woman, in order for the reader to view her from a perspective of sympathy rather than judgment.
As stated, rather than depicting Salome as a completely wicked and cynical character, Duffy provides
indications that the reader is meant to sympathize with her. This is hinted at in the language that Duffy
uses and the different tones in each stanza, proposing that Salome s thoughts are changing

Essay on Napoleon at Waterloo
The battle of Waterloo is universally associated with the last stand of Napoleon. It is (for all intents
and purposes) the most significant blow to Napoleons final attempt at a return to power, Napoleons
loss sealed his fate and consequently lost his empire (once and for all). However was it truly Napoleon
s faults that resulted in the loss at Waterloo? Or as many have stated was it more accurately Marshal
Ney s inability to follow Napoleons orders and command his troops in a custom that Napoleon not
only expected but had spent years refining. Before the battle of Waterloo Napoleon ordered 30 000
troops under the command of Marshal Grouchy to separate from the main force, splitting off in order

Taking a Look at Surfactant Protein-D
Surfactant protein D (SP D) is a C type lectin which is synthesized in various parts of the body. SP D
plays a key role in the auto immune disorders, lung infections and also helpful in the postnatal
pregnancy. This also plays an active role in the host defense mechanisms. In the host defense
mechanism SP D binds with various micro organisms and other particles that enter the human body
and act against them. In our present study we targeted on the interactions of surfactant protein D with
the lipid molecules where their interaction plays an important role in the defense mechanism. In our
study lipid molecules were docked against the SP D protein and interaction studies were carried out.
Mutations were generated at sites F335G and R343V and interactions of the lipids with the mutated
protein molecules were studied. Among the wild and the mutant protein molecules, mutant protein
F335G showed highest interaction with the lipid molecule distearoylphosphatidylcholine with
cDocker energy of 94.726. These studied showed that mutant molecules are showing highest binding
with the lipid molecules when compared to the wild protein molecule. Among all ligand molecules
chosen, distearoylphosphatidylcholine showed highest interaction followed by

  • 2. The Carrying Capacity Of A Tourist Resource . The carrying caapacity studies began during the 1930 s (O Reilly, 1986; Saveriades, 2000), they were principally developed in the 1960 s in the national parks of the United States of America (McCool and Lime, 2001; Manning et al., 2002).The carrying capacity concept is essentially a decision making framework informed by the regular measurement of agreed indicators of quality. The concept of carrying capacity was derived in the early 1960 s from range management and was applied to tourism and hospitality management. It was concluded that carrying capacity is not just one single notion but an amalgamation of four different carrying capacities which are namely physical, Ecological psychological and Economical. Ecological carrying capacity relates to the maximum use of a tourist resource without causing any harm to the environment. Social carrying capacity relates to the reaction of the local people to the tourist development of the place, which should never be negative, Psychological carrying capacity relates to the quality of visitors satisfaction with a certain tourist destination, which is not to be decreased; Economic carrying capacity relates to the level of acceptable dependence between the local economy and the level of the tourist development of a place, which should never become too heavy The carrying capacity of any tourist destination, whether it be an historic building, a beach or a dive site, is not a single figure that can be calculated and fixed. Certain ground rules and establishments have been set regarding tenure in the higher education field have been set in place to offer the best regarding professors today. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tenure, in recent years, has become a step of heated rivalry throughout the U.S. higher educational system like the continual employment of under performing teachers/professors. In education, tenure is often thought of as a significant issue. There are several pros and cons with reference to tenure. The primary advantage is that tenure prevents educators from being caught for inappropriate reasons. Though anti tenure supporters can state that this can be now not applicable, the actual fact is that before tenure lecturers were usually in trouble for private, political, or different non teaching connected reasons. Female educators were relinquishing for inappropriate reasons, or being seen at the incorrect institutions too late in the dark. Different teachers/professors can run into trouble for teaching disputed subjects like evolution or for arguing with the diversity board or administration. The second advantage is that irremovable educators can be very troublesome to dismiss. This can be in all probability the foremost ordinarily detected criticism concerning tenure. Tenure doesn t grant professors immunity from being fired from their positions, however it will create some issues within the matter. Tenure protects professors from false accusations. It offers educators protection from a state of affairs wherever a teacher is fired, of investigate the matter and work with them through the prolonged legal method. Dismissing irremovable ... He has a unique style that captivates children and adults alike. Often, a person s background and experiences influence their work. Imagination has many roots into the childhood of an individual. Chris Van Allsburg grew up in a quiet suburban setting in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During the 1950 s, when he was a child, the town was a place that seemed like a haven for any young boy. There were open fields that provided places for the children to enjoy a baseball game in the spring. The houses were not separated by fences, but rather blended together by the yards. The setting in which he grew up provided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His style was that of works that had a narrative feeling to them. The storyteller in him started to become evident when they became available for display in New York City. His big break as a children s book writer came as a result of his wife. She was a producer of a television show and invited one of the show s guests home for dinner on night. After dinner she and Chris Van Allsburg showed him some of his illustrations as part of a casual after dinner conversation. He was immediately impressed and gave the number of Walter Lorraine, an editor with Houghton Mifflin Company, to him and asked him to call him. When he finally contacted Mr. Lorraine, the man was so impressed with his drawings that he convinced Chris Van Allsburg that he should venture into children s book writing. His first book was The Garden of Abdul Gasazi in 1979. He showed the world that he was a talented storybook writer. The public responded by buying more than a million copies. This book also received a Caldecott Medal Award. He would follow up with wonderful books such as The Mysteries of Harris Bur*censored*. Many people wonder how he gets the ideas for such intriguing tales. Chris Van Allsburg explains this in many of his interviews. He always starts out with a picture. • 5. Catiline s Conspiracy There are moments in history that can almost mirror later events. Patterns can be found in the types of people that obtain power, how they obtain power, and what the circumstances of the state surrounding their rises to power are. There are also events that can seem entirely different from each other, and yet when looked at closely show real resemblance in specific ways that power shifts throughout history. Catiline is an example of failure to secure power. He raised an army of revolutionists who were found out before they could carry out their plan to murder hundreds of senators. Fidel Castro, who did achieve power later in his political career, created a plan to attack that Moncada Barracks which failed, in the end. Catiline s Conspiracy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catiline s was considered a failure as it was never actually executed because Cicero was informed in a timely notion and took action to prevent it . Many of his followers were captured and executed without trial, leaving him unable to take up arms against the senators as originally planned. Catiline was then declared an enemy of the state. Of course, before the Senators could take real action against Catiline, it needed to be proven to the citizens that he was a threat to Rome and its people. Catiline gathered up troops to attack after he had fled Rome, but in the end was killed on the battlefield when fighting against the Roman army . Fidel Castro s plan failed as well, but unlike Catiline, he managed to at the very least start what he had intended. The 120 men that he recruited began their attack as scheduled, and fair number of men made it into the Moncada Barracks but there were unplanned patrol guards in cars and ended up detaining Castro and the rest of his men. Those who escaped went into the wrong building because they were confused as to which building was the target building, so rather than the barracks they entered the military hospital which was not the intended target. The men of Fidel Castro that had made it to the inside of barracks reached their objective (obtaining the weapons in the weapons depository) but by that point there was too much shooting because back up had already been called in by the patrol guards who had seen Castro and his army. In the end, Castro and his men ended retreating, but not before many of his men had died or been captured . Like Catiline, Castro himself was able to escape from the Cuban government and he was even able to avoid being put to death because of his relationship with the local Catholic bishop. Instead, he was put on trial like many of his men (who were also tortured) and was declared guilty with a sentence of 15 years in prison . These two events show an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Developement of Civilization Essay The Developement of Civilization According to Webster s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, civilization is a relatively high level of cultural and technological development, specifically the stage of cultural development at which writing and the keeping of written records is attained . Other sources trace the meaning of civilization to political, economic, military and social structures as well as the heightened intellectual and artistic aspects of life (Spielvogel, xxxi). They followed the herds along their migratory patterns and gathered other sustenance consisting mostly of plants and their roots along the way. It is believed that approximately 400,000 years ago, Homo erectus learned to use fire (Lerner,9). They also began to travel farther distances, for the earliest evidence of the wheel used in travel was found to be in 35,000 BCE (Calder,54). Some say it was in 28,000 BCE (Lerner,9), others say it was between 18,000 and 13,000 BCE (Spielvogel,3). Facts would point to the earlier years, where the Sumerian city states, Egyptian Civilization (especially the Old Kingdom), and cuneiform began to emerge. Groups of people advanced beyond their old hunting grounds at a rate of only two or three miles per generation (Spielvogel,3). They began making waterproof shelters of their own. He was an English Romantic landscape painter that studied expressionistic light, color, and atmosphere. When Turner was 10 years old, he lived with an uncle at Brentford, Middlesex, where he attended school. His father sold Turners drawings as early as 1787 because they were so professional. The strong power of nature is the main theme that brings greatness or sublime that inspires our thoughts. The moonlight s contrast is delicate to the flickering lantern on the boat. This emphasizes nature s power over humans and the fishermen s fate. After Fishermen at Sea, in 1799, he was elected an associate of the Royal Academy at 24 years old; this being the youngest age a person can be elected. In 1802, Turner had the dignity of signing a collection of large pictures, resulting him to become an academician. Shortly after, he opened a private gallery to show his latest work. As he was traveling to search new ideas for art work in Wales, Yorkshire, the Midlands, Scotland, and the European continent; he crossed the dangerous ocean to Calasis. In his picture, Calais Pier (1802 03), he left an obvious sense of danger before his arrival. During his tour of France and Switzerland, he completed more than 400 drawings of scenes that impressed him. For goods, that retailers sell in their shops or online platforms. They store these goods until they are ordered to be distributed, whether to business s or directly to customers. The main purpose for a distribution center is to hold stock, until it is needed. These centers can often be shared by several small business s to reduce overheads or are owned outright by larger companies, who rely on having large amounts of stock, but do not have a large amount of shop space. They are also heavily relied on by online companies, who use a digital shop platform. Traditionally large retail chains such as Amazon own their own distribution centers. This minimizes their overheads, by cutting out the middle man. You will tend to find that large retail chains have more than one distribution center. They tend to place them strategically throughout the countries that they ship to. Small independent retailers however cannot afford the overhead costs of owning their own distribution centers. This means they have to go to third party centers which charge them a much smaller overhead in comparison. This is because these third party services tend to serve more than one small retailer. Meaning that the overhead costs are split between multiple business s rather than just one. There are three main area s within a distribution center, which are, the shipping ... White colonizers believed that they had to impose their civilization on the distant lands because the natives are uncivilized. It is the greatest possible mistake to suppose that a European can acquire a greater influence by adopting the mode of life of the natives. In effect, it is to lower himself to their plane, instead of elevating them to his (Capt. F.D. Lugard, 3). Imperialists viewed their beliefs as the superior culture and if they were to adopt another culture rather than spread their, it would be a downgrade for Europeans rather than help save the natives. Missionaries seek to introduce Christianity to converts and other Europeans help civilized natives in political order and social stability. Missionaries also have other benefits besides spreading Christianity. Missionaries help make communication between imperialist and subject peoples easier, sometime provide information to European officials on how to maintain control of oversea colonies, and their settlements also served as a convenient meeting place for European overseas and as a distribution centers for European manufactured ... Vioxx was taken off the market in 2004 when people became sick and died after taking the drug. The company s reputation suffered after allegations that Merck asked doctors to sign Merck written research studies for Vioxx. Merck disputes the allegation, but more than 9,200 lawsuits were filed against the company. Vioxx had generated $2.5 billion in annual sales. A turnaround strategy needs to address the following: a suffered reputation, lost patent protection on several drugs, a slowing pipeline, and a decreasing stock price. • 35. Descriptive Essay On Halloween My perfect Halloween would be a night of just chilling and watching a marathon of halloween movies and eating sweets. the party s I would have will at mossy have 2 5 close friends and we would probably just play video games if there is more than 3 people there. But costume wise if I did go outside and walk around with my dogs I think I would just put on a onesie and show off my dressed up pups. If I did buy candy I would just get an assortment of different kinds. But let s go into more detail about these three ideal halloween must haves. A perfect party for someone like me contains just a few friends or just even one close one just chilling on a bean bag watching scary movies for hours on end wile eating our favorite halloween snacks. But most importantly you need people that will just sit and talk because who dosent like to talk about scary stories or ghost encounters. Like friends that commit to watching scary movies with you are real friends because they show you their scared side unless there are stone and barely have any fears at all. Halloween parties are fun with a lot of people but with a few close people you can do so much more activities big crowds could t do. for instance hide and seek in a small house, video games that can only handle two players at a time, and the price of just enough pizza for 2 or 3 compared to 15 or 20 is a big difference. If i got bored of that a perfect halloween costume would be a shark onesie and my dog on a leash and wearing a fish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Speaking from experience, my mother is 20 years younger than my father and they are always viewed as non equals. Then the shot gets cut to Phil and Claire trying to juggle ten things at once while dealing with their three children the stereotype that we observed is how families like that are always hectic and how the dad of a teenager tries to be cool. Lastly we get to see Mitchell and Cam in an airplane on the way home with their newly adopted daughter. An old lady says, She s an angel. You and you re wife must be thrilled! • 38. Examples Of Briony Tallis In Atonement Falsely accusing someone of a crime is no joke and it is also considered as a crime. But what happens if the accuser strongly believed the individual they are accusing really committed the sinful act? Briony Tallis, the main character of the novel Atonement by Ian McEwan, was exactly in this position when she was thirteen. She had witness a sexual tension between her sister, Cecilia, and their housemaid s son, Robbie through a series of events Briony misunderstood. McEwan then revealed that the narrator for part three is no one else but Briony. While some are shocked about it, others are well prepared about the big revelation at the end. McEwan prepared them by making sure the readers know how Briony aspires to be a great writer when she was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The way McEwan made Briony acts around Cecilia and Robbie when she supposedly met them at the apartment, vividly shows her guilt of what she has done. She is scared just by the presence of Robbie, and the way Cecilia sarcastically laughs made her afraid questioning what she has done to her sister. McEwan displayed the difference in their relationship between now and then. Briony s confident character at the beginning is gone and she now seems more fragile and weak. • 39. Carol Ann Duffy Allusions Katelyn Nowocin Dr. Plamondon ENGL 3487 7 November 2017 Sympathy verses Judgment in Carol Ann Duffy s poem Salome The poem Salome by Carol Ann Duffy is written from the perspective of Salome, a promiscuous woman who is retelling her drunken night. Although it is unclear whom Salome is speaking to, she tells her story using informal, colloquial language, as if conversing to a group of friends. Duffy uses Biblical allusions, which suggest that the speaker can be considered a reflection of the Biblical character Salome, who appears in the New Testament and is infamous for demanding the head of John the Baptist. Although Duffy seems to be retelling the traditional story of Salome, she depicts Salome as a modern figure. The following analysis will explore the Biblical allusions in Duffy s poem, which help to determine what the poem is about, and moreover will explore how Duffy uses the dramatic monologue to provoke the reader to have sympathy for Salome. I thus contend that Duffy takes the reader into the mind of Salome, a character that has traditionally been portrayed as an evil, amoral woman, in order for the reader to view her from a perspective of sympathy rather than judgment. As stated, rather than depicting Salome as a completely wicked and cynical character, Duffy provides indications that the reader is meant to sympathize with her. This is hinted at in the language that Duffy uses and the different tones in each stanza, proposing that Salome s thoughts are changing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Essay on Napoleon at Waterloo The battle of Waterloo is universally associated with the last stand of Napoleon. It is (for all intents and purposes) the most significant blow to Napoleons final attempt at a return to power, Napoleons loss sealed his fate and consequently lost his empire (once and for all). However was it truly Napoleon s faults that resulted in the loss at Waterloo? Or as many have stated was it more accurately Marshal Ney s inability to follow Napoleons orders and command his troops in a custom that Napoleon not only expected but had spent years refining. Before the battle of Waterloo Napoleon ordered 30 000 troops under the command of Marshal Grouchy to separate from the main force, splitting off in order to (in theory) catch and eliminate the ... Marshal Ney s First mistake is seen in the exemption of ordering infantry attacks along with his cavalry, this though a forgivable mistake was compounded once his other mistakes are made. • 41. Taking a Look at Surfactant Protein-D Surfactant protein D (SP D) is a C type lectin which is synthesized in various parts of the body. SP D plays a key role in the auto immune disorders, lung infections and also helpful in the postnatal pregnancy. This also plays an active role in the host defense mechanisms. In the host defense mechanism SP D binds with various micro organisms and other particles that enter the human body and act against them. In our present study we targeted on the interactions of surfactant protein D with the lipid molecules where their interaction plays an important role in the defense mechanism. In our study lipid molecules were docked against the SP D protein and interaction studies were carried out. Mutations were generated at sites F335G and R343V and interactions of the lipids with the mutated protein molecules were studied. Among the wild and the mutant protein molecules, mutant protein F335G showed highest interaction with the lipid molecule distearoylphosphatidylcholine with cDocker energy of 94.726. These studied showed that mutant molecules are showing highest binding with the lipid molecules when compared to the wild protein molecule. Among all ligand molecules chosen, distearoylphosphatidylcholine showed highest interaction followed by dilaurylphosphatidylcholine, dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine with tocopherol showing the least binding affinity with both wild and the mutant protein molecules.
