Predisposition In The News Media
When it comes to politics and media, the left argues that the right is more biased than the left while the
right argues that the left is more biased than the right. Who s right? News media predisposition is real.
It diminishes the nature of news coverage, and it cultivates doubt among peruses and viewers. This is
terrible for the majority rule government. Predisposition in the news media shows itself most capably
not as through and through, deliberate untruths, but rather is frequently an element of what the
correspondents pick not to tell their group of onlookers; for example the truths they intentionally
discard in order to abstain from repudiating the political story they wish to progress. Study after study
has demonstrated that the standard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Presently we should take a gander at a standout amongst the most discussed presidential candidates
Donald Trump. Donald Trump has over and over gone under feedback by numerous significant news
outlets, avid to see him lose leader status in the Republican Party. The reason the liberal media detests
Trump is on account of he is a danger to their liberal philosophy. The news media have no good thing
to say in regards to him ever! They never accentuation how he s going to make occupations and bring
us out of obligation they focus on one remark about Mexicans. Every one of the news media needs to
do is carry division sum individuals with bigotry and religion they are out for their own motivation
and that s it. Hopefuls, for example, Donald Trump, who talk reality, have respectability, and don t
make ludicrous guarantees are normally overlooked, best case scenario or criticized best case scenario
for applicants fitting the liberal belief system. Donald Trump surprisingly has had it more regrettable

Analysis Of They Live
They Live: Timely or Timeless? John Carpenter s 1988 film They Live is cult classic steeped in 1980 s
America milieu. The film follows protagonist John Nada, played by professional wrestler Roddy
Piper. Nada, a hobo of sorts, rides the rails westward in search of work. The first scene of the film
finds our vagabond main character disembarking from his heavily discounted travel arrangements, and
strutting nonchalantly by foot into a nearby metropolis. Nada travels light. All he has to his name is
his pack, and a few changes of clothes, which never stray from, fitted jeans, flannel shirt, and work
boots, which tell you a lot about his line of work. Moreover, if his attire is not a dead giveaway as to
his chosen profession then his stature is. Nada is built like a truck from years of labor intensive work
with his hands, mostly in construction. He is the embodiment of the working poor with an eighties
macho twist. That twist being, on top of being a physical specimen, he is also armed with catchy one
liners, sports breathtaking hair that flirts on mullet dom, and is an expert on every firearm he comes
across. They Live does not stop there; it gives us even more of what we have come to love about
eighties action flicks. Is there a scene where the main character finds a reason to take off his shirt to
show us how ripped he is? Yes. Is there a female love interest who uses too much hair spray? Yes
again. Does the film have countless gunfights where the good guy is shot at a thousand times and is
never hit by a single bullet? Furthermore, does one of those firefights end with a henchman being shot
followed by him awkwardly falling off the roof he was perched upon? It is the eighties, you bet your
sweet neon jacket it does. So, if They Live is flooded with dated camp then why is it so beloved? Well
besides being a film that highlights eighties style and tropes, it also puts a magnifying glass on
eighties America as a society as well. The cultural climate of the United States in the eighties can be
attributed to many factors, but a majority of the responsibility usually falls on one person in this
country the president. The president for the majority of the eighties was Ronald Reagan, the most
famous of the

Dora The Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, And The Simpsons
More than a decade has passed, since the beginning of academic research in regards to the impact of
TV series on small children s development. Evidences collected since that time entail limited
educational or cognitive benefits of commercial TV animated series for young children, especially
when comparing to the information they might learn from live, social interactions (Vaala, 2014). In
spite of this fact, most American toddlers and infants do spend time watching animated educational
TV series with the statistics indicating approximately 60 80 minutes of daily viewing for the average
child (Rideout, 2013). At the time when international viewing rates are not yet available, estimates
that exist now bring forth that children s TV viewing time is increasing (Vaala Hornik, 2014). For
these reasons, coupled with the questions laid down in the paper, I watched one episode each of Dora
the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, and The Simpsons.
(What is there about each type of program that would appeal to preschoolers?)
For the Dora the Explorer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This sets it apart from other children s cartoons. Dora teaches almost every facet of good material to
the children that watch it, from life lessons to the correct ways of behavior and correct attitude to
exhibit in many situations. The way the lessons are taught in Dora the Explorer facilitates significantly
children s processing of information. SpongeBob SquarePants also teaches lessons but is more geared
toward entertainment than education. However, SpongeBob also provides correct attitudes, behaviors,
and ways to understand many different situations that children might be confronted with in their daily
life. For The Simpsons, its whole raison d etre is to entertain. Although sometimes the characters are
taught a lesson during the episodes, they can be perverted to entertain the young adult audience that
the show is primarily geared

Essay On The Red Umbrella
Immigration is a big subject that is talked about a lot today. Many authors us immigration as a subject
in their text to us different techniques. Many articles and novels use different ways to portray
immigration. The red umbrella by Christina Diaz Gonzalez and A band aid for 800 children by eli
saslow, they both portray immigration in many similar and different ways. In The Red Umbrella and A
Band Aid For 800 Children there are many similarities about immigration. One is that using people s

Nuclear Bomb Wrong
Parsa Espandar Stafford, Tapia English/History Right or Wrong A decision is as simple as it is
complex, especially one as influential and impactful as the decision to drop a nuclear bomb on Japan.
The consequences and the never ending debates on the matter ripple through to this day, including the
many alternatives or whether it was a morally acceptable choice. As this is a pretty controversial topic,
I feel the need to put an emphasis on the fact that the decision to bomb Japan was made at a time of
war. We are here, today, at peaceful times, looking upon a heavy decision that was made at a much
more chaotic time. With that said, that decision was not made lightly. The power of a nuclear bomb
was being slowly painted as WWII was nearing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I said, their culture is bound by honor; if, say, the people of Japan started feeling that there was
nothing left for them in that war, they were more likely to make the most out of what remained. They
would fight back until the last man stood. Anything but an unconditional surrender or dropping
nuclear bombs meant risk; the only reason why the latter solution meant a low risk was because of the
scare factor. To be fair, it wasn t as simple as I m putting it. People are complicated, cultures and

We Are Marshall Essay
We Cannot Lose We Are Marshall is a movie based on a real event in which 75 football players,
coaches, and fans from Marshall University died in an airplane crash on November 14, 1970. While
bringing the team home to Huntington, West Virginia, the plane went down just a few miles away
from its destination from unknown causes (Withers). The movie highlights the struggles of rebuilding
a prosperous football program at the college. Jack Lengyel, played by Matthew McConaughey,
becomes the new head coach and takes on the role of inspiring and motivating the new team. During
one scene in the movie, which is historically accurate, he does just that at the final resting place for six
members of the 1970 Thundering Herd (Bige0980). The speech he delivers in this scene gives his
players and coaching staff a sense of inspiration and hope, despite the depressing and challenging
circumstances. Coach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

exactly who you are in here (Bige0980). First, he points to the team in the middle of the line, and then
he beats his hand against his chest at the line s conclusion. It can be interpreted that he is gesturing to
his heart s connection with his players hearts. His eye contact with the entire audience also alludes to
his personal relationship with each individual player, as well as his fellow coaches. These aspects

Discussion Solution
1. The 1% saltwater solution was easy to create, however there was a greater amount of this solution

When is it considered appropriate to use class action lawsuits? Anytime a significant amount of people
have been harmed or violated in the same or similar manner by the same individual or group, it is
appropriate to file for class action. The question specifically posed in this case asks if it is appropriate
to use class action lawsuits to challenge automatic phone calls related to elections. In the case of
Hayden Wreyford v. Citizens for Transportation Mobility, plaintiff Hayden is upset that he received
automatic telephone calls from CTM without having expressed any prior consent. The issue here is
that the company has, in the opinion of Mr.Wreyford, violated the Telephone Consumer Protection

Oskar Schindler was as you would call it, the protagonist of the film. He was the man looking to make
a fortune off the German invasion in Poland, he could be considered as callous or greedy. As you are
introduced to Schindler you see him picking out each part of his outfit. The suit, tie, shoes and pants.
Right down to the pin and how much money was in his pocket. This came off to me as being a
narcasist, or pompass. Schindler began as a womanizing and immoral man who only cared about his
personal gain. He was not faithful to his wife and had many mistresses. His wife Emilie did not live
with him for most of their marriage because of it,and when she walked in on him and the mistress she
was very upset and annoyed by Shindler. Schindler, who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Goeth finds a sanctioned outlet for his cruelty in the Nazi military and is representative of the
mindless evil of the Third Reich and its final solution. He views Jews as vermin, creatures unworthy
of possessing basic human rights. He kills often and without hesitation or provocation. Unlike
Schindler, Goeth never strays into goodness. However, the lack of change in his basic nature does not
render him a one dimensional character; Goeth is a complicated and conflicted man, as well. He lusts
after his Jewish maid, Helen Hirsch, and actor Ralph Fiennes skillfully conveys both the strength and
ambivalence of this passion. Goeth attempts to seduce Helen, and when she shows no reaction, he
turns on her, blames her for trying to tempt him, calls her names, and beats her savagely. Later, when
Schindler wants to buy Helen to put her on his list, Goeth refuses. He tells Schindler he will never let
her go, that he wants to bring her back to Vienna and grow old with her. Schindler tells him it can

Abstract
Purpose: This paper investigates the stability and its determinants involving Malaysian Islamic and
conventional banks over the period of 2004 2013.
Design: The study employs the financial ratios and z score index as indicators of bank stability. A
series of parametric and non parametric tests are used to compare the stability of Islamic and
conventional banks. Then, we estimate pooled OLS regression controlling for Islamic banks dummy,
crisis period dummy, bank specific, market structure, and macroeconomic factor to examine the
determinants of bank stability.
Findings: The result reveals that Islamic banks are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keywords: Banking, Stability, Islam, Malaysia 1.0 Introduction
The recent 2007 2009 global financial crisis has led to series of failures of many conventional banks
throughout the world. Furthermore, some empirical researches have evidenced the superiority of
Islamic banks performance over its conventional counterparts during the crisis period (Hasan Dridi
2010; Parashar Venkatesh 2010). These led to increase in global attention towards stability of Islamic
banking system.
Despite of increased attention on Islamic banks, recent studies have evidenced mixed result on the
stability of Islamic banks over its conventional counterparts (Belouafi et al. 2013; Kassim Abd. Majid
2010; Rokhim Gamaginta 2009; Bourkhis Nabi 2013). Thus, indicates that there is non consensus on
the stability of Islamic banks over its conventional counterparts.
Bank stability during the recent 2007 2009 global financial crisis has been studied from various
perspectives; among others are the application of various measures of bank stability, determinants of
bank stability, and impact analysis. Recent studies which examine the impact of crisis on bank
stability have given attention specifically during the crisis period. While it is useful to examine the
degree of bank stability during the period of crisis, it is also important to determine its degree after the
period of crisis. This is vital as the impact of

Inez s Back When All Was Continuous Chuckles : Keeping Innocence in Times of Hardships.
Colette Inez, author of ten poetry books, is known as a writer, reviewer, contest judge and writing
teacher. She has won several awards for her writing and even worked on the governing board of the
Poetry Society of America in 1979 1980. Colette lives in New York, which happens to be the setting of
her poem Back When All was Continuous Chuckles ( Colette Inez. ).
This narrative poem, tells a story about the speaker and her friend Doris riding the Beeline bus

Sometimes we heard moans from the back room and I helped wring out cloths and Doris brought
water in a glass held to her mother s lips (17 22) it is the first time we see the children in a serious
manner as they take care of Doris s mother. While the war may be a faraway thought, Doris s mother
having cancer directly affects the children and they have to deal with reality for a short time.
As soon as Doris s mother can be left alone the children are able to return to their happy little world
apart from the rest: But soon we were flipping through joke books, withering on the floor, war news
shut off, back when we pretended all was continuous chuckles (23 25) . Here the author reveals that
while the title of the poem may have been Back When All Was Continuous Chuckles the children were
only pretending that it was a carefree time by using humor and jokes in everyday life to distract
themselves from the terrible things going on around them.
Inez ends the poem with these powerful lines, and we rode the bus past Greenfield s rise where stones,
trumpeting angels, would bear names we later came to recognize (26 28) . The cemetery is mentioned
again, this time in a graver tone. It is no longer a place they can joke about, now they know people
buried in Greenfield and it would be a very different experience riding by the cemetery

Robert Rowe was born December 27, 1945. He grew up in the small town of Carrollton, IL, along

to serving, Robert graduated high school and went to a trade school. He specialized in drafting and
surveying, which he continued to do during his service and until he retired. Multiple times throughout
our interview Robert became very emotional. He became tied up in the old memories that may not

stayed there for nearly three years. His fourth and final year in California he received his draft papers.
From California he was shipped to Hawaii. From Hawaii he was flown and stationed in Cam Ranh

The Importance Of Italian Immigration To America
No Such Thing
Starting in 1890, Italian immigrants began to travel from their hometowns of Italy to their new world,
America. Known as the New Immigration, the transition became the third largest immigrating wave
from Europe. Records show, that in 1913 that the number of Italians living in America stood at an all
time high. Most of the Italian immigrants coming to the states had stepped onto American soil at Ellis
Island in New York City.
Four of the Italian immigrants that sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from Italy to embark on their
journey to America, existed as my great grandparents. Being a full blooded Italian means that I still
have some family members living in Italy. Having the cultural heritage of an Italian has had a huge
influence on my life due to the fact that I ve stayed surrounded by the culture ever since my
childhood. Some traditions of a normal Italian family consist of food, rituals, religion, affiliations, and
more food.
Baptizing a child in a Roman Catholic church, remains as one of the most important traditions in the
Italian culture. During this ceremony, the parents select a godmother and godfather for the child. As a
child, I experienced baptism and to this day I have my godparents. In the future, I plan on baptizing
my children, and keeping the tradition thriving. Every Italian family loves big meal and very tasty
courses. Every Sunday my entire family, all 15 of us, get together to have a family dinner. At this

Alzheimer s Research Disease Center, department of Psychology, Bioengineering program department
of engineering, at University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, KS, USA. The big question
of this study is to investigate white matter differences to give better understanding of
neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer s disease and Parkinson s disease. It asks specifically
whether individuals with Parkinson s disease dementia will show significant white matter
deterioration when compared to healthy non demented control individuals. The hypothesis of this
study states that cognitive decline and impaired motor control in Parkinson s disease dementia (PDD)
will greatly show deterioration in white matter as compared to groups of healthy individuals control
group (CON), Alzheimer s disease group, and Parkinson s disease group (Perea et al. 2013). It was
known before through many scientific studies that white matter differences are actually associated
with neurodegenerative diseases. Researches few decades ago studied white matter differences using

neural tissue and the integrity of white matter fibers (Perea et al. 2013). One example was mentioned

Inexperience In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is considered one of the greatest works of gothic literature. Frankenstein,
or the Modern Prometheus, tells the story of an ambitious young scientist named Victor Frankenstein.
During his time at university, Dr. Frankenstein decides to take on a daring project, attempting to create
life. After spending months laboring, he finally achieves his goal, but realizes that he has made a grave
mistake. Throughout the rest of the story, Frankenstein s monster terrorizes and murders the rest of
Victor s friends and family until he is left alone in world. Mary Shelley was 19 years old when she
wrote this novel. Though it is, to this day, still considered to be one of the greatest works of gothic

Choice of language is one of the many ways one character can be distinguished from another. If all the
novel s characters speak in the same manner, there won t be many ways to tell them apart. The way a
person speaks can give insight on their personality, upbringing and, even something as simple as age.
Shelley s characters all seem to speak with the same manner of speech. They all sound like they are
from upper class families. It s hard to distinguish one from the other without indicators. The perfect
example in this is found with Frankenstein s monster. He learned to speak from books and listening to
the people who lived in the cottage he hid behind. This family would certainly would not have spoken
in the same fashion the Frankenstein family did. Yet, when the monster speaks he sounds like Victor
Frankenstein, an upper class gentleman. You also find this issue with William Frankenstein, Victor s
younger brother. William is supposed to be six years old. His speech, however, is that of someone
three times his age. William Frankenstein talks like everyone else in the book. Thus, it s hard to
imagine him as a child. This is what makes novels so unique and a character s speech so important.
The only image the reader has of these people is that which is created in their minds. When a young
boy talks like a man, it s hard to see him as a young boy. The image is distorted. Authors who have

white. One giant leap for mankind, the man uttered, as he descended the short flight of stairs down to
ground level, disengaging his fishbowl helmet to the pleased Cut! of the director and the thrilled
clapping of everyone else in the studio. This was Apollo 11 for the moon landing conspiracy theorists,
who will swear by their beliefs despite the standard opinion of the television and the textbook. Minute
details differ, but the foremost claim of the conspiracy theory goes something like this: in 1969, the
United States was unable to perform a manned lunar landing, and therefore staged the Apollo missions
in an attempt to defeat the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the New York Herald in Paris remarked, It is difficult to fly. It is easy to say, We have flown, two
things fueled skepticism in the face of scientific achievement: a disbelief in technological capabilities,
and a lack of demonstrable results. The Apollo missions extinguished both concerns. In terms of
technology, hoax believers frequently mention the Soviets constant lead in the Space Race. They
achieved many firsts, but were never able to send men to the moon; it seems logical, then, that this
feat must have been beyond the Americans as well. But in reality, the United States was never far
behind. In fact, by 1965, it overtook its rival, reaching many milestones that were key to manned lunar
missions (e.g. space rendezvous). NASA, thus, was in a good position to travel to the moon and to the
moon it traveled. As noted in Lunar Rocks and Soils from Apollo Missions, it even brought back some
souvenirs, in the form of 842 pounds of moon rocks. These samples possess unique properties unseen
in any Earth counterparts, and to forge these rocks in such large volumes would have been impossible.
Rocks aside, there are other reasons to believe in the moon landings as well: reflectors left on the lunar
surface, or landing site imagery, to name a few. Surely, the validity of the landings lacks no evidence
in support. Then again, the vast majority of us have never been in space, on the moon,

How To The Secret Annex Persuasive Essay
From what it looks like the secret annex looks a harsh place to stay at especially living with other

What Is The Impact Of Community Gardens In Chicago
With over 100 neighborhoods and around three million people, Chicago is known for its diversity and
culture. But, many communities in Chicago, specifically southern neighborhoods, are food desserts.
These areas where fresh affordable produce is difficult to acquire. Community gardening is an effort
that provides a space to strengthen relationships while simultaneously providing physical aid to food

gardens not only provide aid and allow growth for comminutes, but also help combat climate change
and its negative effects. Socially, the impact of community gardens can be extremely extensive. The
effort can create almost an immediate help in providing healthy and nutritional food to the community
as most food grown is free for those who help. A community based participatory research study shows
that vegetable intake of several times a day for adults increased from 18.2% to 84.8% and children s

Negative Effects On Public Media
Today the data linking violence in the television to violence in society are superior to those linking
cancer and tobacco (Grossman 31). The digital revolution of television symbolizes that the
technological advances have taken the lead of modern society. The relation between children s violent
television viewing and their development is assignable in various ways. Research studies raised some
significant questions about this field and suggest the possible negative consequences that televised
violence could bring to the youth. As the most common and popular public media, television deserved
society s critical attention on its detrimental effects among children. People who is responsible for
major consequences should be attacked by actions such as allowing or profiting inappropriate images
on children s programs, which can cause both physical and psychological problems to the youth
viewers and even lead to criminal behaviors. Violent images on children s television programs should
be discern as the complex interplay that lead to major consequences in children s future development.
Nowadays, under the exposure of television, aggressive images are often shown and even suggested in
children s shows or cartoons. Aggressive actions involving animated characters are easy to caught
youngsters attention. Professor Chris Boyatzis , a member of the Cal State Fullerton Child
Development Department, further proved by expressing that, Violent cartoons have been a staple of

Satire In Gulliver s Travels
Authors write in many different forms and use many different elements in their works. One of these
elements that writers use is called satire. This element is used to make fun of something that the author
disapproves of in a comical but hidden way. Widely considered as one of the greatest satirists to ever
live, Jonathan Swift used satire in his works to express his disgust in society and the British Monarchy
during the 18th century. One of the greatest satires ever written by Swift was Gulliver s Travels. In
Gulliver s Travels, satire is evident through Gulliver s voyage to Lilliput, his dialogue with Lilliput s
emperor, and his time spent within the kingdom of Brobdingnag.
First introduced in ancient Greece in 423 B.C., satire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Swift expresses these feelings multiple times in the book in many different ways.
In Gulliver s Travels, Swift expresses his fury towards the British Monarchy and points out the many
faults within the royal court. Swift first states in Gulliver s Travels, when a great office is vacant either
by death or disgrace (which often happens) five or six of those candidates petition the Emperor to
entertain his Majesty and the court with a dance on the rope, and whoever jumps the highest without
falling, succeeds in the office (Swift 44). This statement in the book shows his anger towards how
people get into office. Showing how people will climb over each other to get an office position and
that the monarchy will only let people with a plentiful amount of money and a good name run for
office. Gulliver also notices within the book that all objects on the island of Lilliput are the same size
as the Lilliputians, noticing this he makes the statement, ...but nature hath adapted the eyes of the
Lilliputians to all objects proper for their view: they see with great exactness... (Swift 62). Swift is
satirizing in these lines that the British Monarchy is near sighted to problems outside of their kingdom
and only care about Britain. Swift also brings out a major point later in the book when Gulliver ends
up on the island of Brobdingnag. Since Gulliver is so small compared to the rest of the
Brobdingnagians, he is treated kind of insignificant. Swift is comparing

Disadvantages Of A Negotiation System
3.3. Negotiation Methodology
The goal of entering into the tax treaty is to reach agreement on all important issues. This is made by
way of setting a negotiation procedure, which was previously discussed in the chapter above. The
negotiation itself is something more than just a mere conversation; it is an interaction being held with
a purpose to reach a mutually beneficial agreement, where both parties are ready to establish a
compromise even if altering their initial positions. For parties, the negotiation process is a tool for
solving complex issues and reaching an aimed outcome. Regarding it as a tool, it is important to know
how to use it, since the successful outcome may depend on various factors.
First of all, identifying one s objectives and proper investigation of the particular issues concerned
play a significant role in the negotiation, since a failure of doing so may lead to the disadvantage. For
instance, if the one party has no proper understanding of the problem being discussed it may agree to
the provision which is rather disadvantageous or confuse and react defensive which may affect ...

A Guided Epiphany By Mary Joyce
A Guided Epiphany
In Eveline the main character, Eveline, lives a terrible life with a stern father, a miserable job, and a
dreary home. When she is given the opportunity to leave her awful life and start a new life with her
partner Frank, she rejects the offer and stays in Ireland. Immediately this presents the reader with an
apparent paradox. Why did Eveline stay? Wasn t her life terrible? It is not until the reader digs a little
deeper into Eveline does the paradox solve itself. Joyce uses various literary techniques to justify why
Eveline did not leave with Frank.
In order to solve the paradox of Eveline, Joyce uses sentence structure to show the importance of
various characters to Eveline. The father in Eveline is given a lengthy amount of the story and longer
sentences. Sentences such as He said she used to squander the money, ... he was usually fairly bad on
Saturday night. (Joyce 65 68), and When they were growing up he had never gone for her ... for her
dead mother s sake. (55 58) contain forty words and forty eight words respectfully. Frank at the
beginning is given slightly longer sentences at his first introduction. The third sentence in Frank s
introduction, She was to go away with him by the night boat to be his wife and to live with him in
Buenos Ayres where he had a home waiting for her. (80 82), is thirty words long. As the story
progresses Frank s sentences becoming increasingly shorter and shorter. After Eveline remembers her

Rhetorical Language In Apollo 11
What I will be doing in this essay is using all my knowledge of rhetorical language and analyze four
pieces of literature. Over the past weeks I have learned many skills and what makes up a good
persuasive piece and what doesn t make a good persuasive piece and I will put all my knowledge
about rhetoric language to use. The four pieces I will be analyzing are all related to the Apollo 11
mission, which took place in 1969 which put humans on the moon for the first time,I will discuss the
purpose, how it adjusts to their own audience they are trying to appeal to, how the speaker and subject
affects the text, how it appeals to pathos, ethos, and logos , and finally if it is effective in
accomplishing its purpose.
The first text I will be analyzing is a news article from the Times of London reporting the event. It was
made right after the moon mission on a 5 a.m. edition of the paper. The landing of the shuttle was at
3:39 a.m.and Neil Armstrong took his first steps at 3:56 a.m. so the newspaper was made shortly right
after. It was made for the citizens of London to give more information about the Apollo 11 mission
and moon landing and talked about all the big things that happened. The speaker, occasion, and
subject all effect the text by making it informational and providing the citizens with the big
information that happened. It got into people s emotions by creating hype and making it seem like a
huge deal with starting off with the details and getting more intense with

Analysis Of Grave Of The Fireflies
The film Grave of The Fireflies directed by Isao Takahata is based off true events and is set in Japan
during World War 2, we have seen many movies set in the time of world war two however there are
few movies which are portrayed from the losing side Japan. The movie follows two kids witnessing a
bombing of their home, which subsequently killed their mother due to her being burned by the fire
bombs. The movie is shown through the perspective of the boy s ghost as it follows the life of himself
and his younger sister through hardship and war. We see how the boy must step up to take care of his
sister due to their mother s death and the father who is at war, we see the bond between the brother
and the sister goes beyond this life as the sister s ghost watches over him and waits for him in the
afterlife. I am going to be analysing two scenes in the film which shape the film because they have the
most importance or detail in them. Scene 1 The scene starts with Seita unveiling a bucket and
watching as fireflies disperse into the shelter that him and his sister are living in. We see, as the
fireflies are released and lighting up the shelter and the faces of the kids as this gives them hope and a
distraction of their harsh world that they are both living in. The siblings lie down and watch as the
fireflies disperse throughout the shelter, we then see a different light in the shelter we can see a distinct
difference between this light and the fireflies as they seem to be forming a

From Light Comes Darkness, And From Darkness Essay
Quote 1
From Light comes Darkness, and from Darkness.. Light.
Warcraft
A. In this quote, it tells us that positive and negative go hand in hand. It tells us that whether there is
too much of something and less of the other or less of something and too much of the other, both will
correlate with each other. As life is a spiral of ups and downs, whether it may be good or bad, happy or
sad, opposites will balance each other, for it is the essence of life.
B. Whenever good things surround me, bad things always come around. The most memorable one was
the time when my brother and I graduated college together (my first course before I ladderized it).
Everyone was happy and everything was going well for the family, then a month after the graduation,
the tides quickly turned around and my mother s sickness got worse, she got admitted to the ICU in a
hospital for a month and a half, everything quickly turned around so fast, financial shortcomings came
and everyone was in a state of panic, shock and fear. Then came the month of June, my mother got
well for a few weeks, sense of relief was felt by everyone. I finally got to continue my education
together with my friends, I thought that everything was turning back to normal then while I was at
school fixing my class schedule, my father called me and.. You already know what happened. It left
the whole family feel miserable, mostly my father and our eldest brother who was working abroad. I

The Intense Debate Over Cloning
Technology has enabled people to realize many things their ancestors would not have even dreamed
of. Cloning is absolutely one of them. Having identical twins without being born on the same they is
like a dream come true. But what is cloning exactly? Cloning ,particularly in biotechnology, is the
process used to create copies of DNA fragment, cells, or organisms. Attempts at cloning might go
back to much earlier times such as the attempt made by Hans Dreisch in the late 1800 s to clone a sea
urchin, but it was not until 1951, when the first successful clone of frog egg was created, that goal was
finally achieved. Still, the world had to wait for another 44 years before the first mammal was cloned.
It was certainly sensational when the first cloned mammal, a sheep named Dolly was born on 5th July
1996. Since it was a milestone in human story, Dolly gained a world wide fame overnight and took its
place in the front pages of many newspapers and even tabloids next to celebrities. However, there is a
painful twist to this otherwise happy story because the death of Dolly at the age of six brought about
an intense debate particularly about the ethical side of cloning and it has been a controversial issue
ever since. Despite of all the debate it has caused among

A dysfunction family was defined as the characteristics of anorexic families as being enmeshed,
overprotective, rigid and conflict avoidant (Minuchin et al (1978). This has led to family therapists
suggesting that adolescents may develop an ED to gain independence in their family life and hope that
it will unite their family instead of conflict. Oppenheimer et al (1985) has suggested that the onset of
an ED may be as a result of sexual abuse in an individual s past. This model suggests that an ED
develops as a result of a woman rejecting her new body shape in puberty, as she attempts to avoid the
feminine shape. Although, sexual abuse for the onset of an ED doesn t have strong evidence; although

National Literacy Crusade Coordinator, And Valerie Miller...
Fernando Cardenal, serving as the National Literacy Crusade Coordinator, and Valerie Miller, a CNA
advisor, outlined that the literacy campaign would not just eradicate illiteracy, but create an identity of
a new man [and a] new woman for Nicaraguans. Through the CNA, the Sandinistas hoped to
introduce young Nicaraguans to the difficulties and hardship endured by Nicaragua s poor rural
population. For many of the brigadistas who volunteered, the 1980 literacy campaign served as their
first experience with the other side of Nicaragua s population, a side that remained unseen and not
thought of by many under the Somoza regime. The life that brigadistas lived in during the CNA
significantly altered their perspectives on society, both politically and culturally. The Sandinistas did
in fact succeed at redefining the concept of the Nicaraguan experience for its youth.
The Nicaraguan volunteers in the National Literacy Crusade developed a sense of new nationalism for
Nicaragua defined by their experiences with the illiterate Nicaraguan population. The accounts of this
change is most evident from the experiences of brigadistas working in the Nicaragua s poor rural
regions. Brigadistas, the majority of whom came from urban middle class backgrounds, gained an
appreciation for the rural farmers and laborers. The testaments and personal accounts of brigadistas
provide insight on the impact of their time with the long disenfranchised citizens of Nicaragua.

1 to 2 hours after the first trial, the same subject will watch the video again and he or she will also fill
out the survey again and the answers will be rating based upon the accuracy of answer. 3 being the
answer is right and 1 being the answer is wrong.
There are 3 necessary steps/types that are crucial to forming a lasting memory. Step 1: sensory
memory, step 2: short term memory, and step 3: long term memory. These are the three types of
memory that are needed to build a lasting memory. Sensory memory is the shortest memory in the
shortest term memory element. One of the types of memory allows you to remember information
through the 5 senses. The brain will remember anything that happened from 1 second to 60 seconds
using the sensory part of your memory. An example of sensory memory is: I got hit in the head with a
purple yo yo. After sensory memory comes the short term memory. Short term memory acts as a
scratch pad for temporary recall. Short term memory holds small amounts of information. Anything
something that took place in front of your eyes for longer than 60 seconds, the short term memory
section of the brain will remember it. This section of your brain will allow you to recall that
information in the next few hours or days. An example of short term memory is: time on the clock 10
minutes ago. Lastly, comes long term memory. Long term memory, is used to store information of a
set time

Analysis Of Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Freshly...
Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Featuring Lzzy Hail and Freshly Ground s Pot Belly, depict two
different categories of perception: perceptions of oneself and perceptions of others. These perceptions,
though diverse, show a modern day view of how people are characterized and viewed externally. The
latter music video reveals two people and their perceptions of each other; in contrast, the first video
displays one person s view of not only themselves, but also the world around them. Viewed side by
side, both videos show how perceptions shape the tolerance and the understanding people have about
themselves. Together, these videos show that most perceptions are not fully factual, but rather are
often distorted and limited as a result of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, she acts and behaves in this predicted manner; a figure of perfection surrounded by a
glass globe, the stereotype of who she perceives herself to be, but more importantly, by the way she
perceives others view her and expect her to act. While imprisoned in this globe, she feels she cannot
act upon her own volition as she can only reanimate once a key is turned.
As Lindsey Stirling s video continues, it becomes clear that the ballerina is tired and unhappy with this
banal routine. An effective picture is painted of the warped perception she has of herself and,
conversely, her view of the world. This is especially highlighted when she observes light coming from
outside the globe and a spark of hope appears on her face. This, in turn, motivates her to shatter the
glass surrounding her, but she is unsuccessful in this attempt, despite the appearance of cracks in the
glass. Before long, the music stops and she becomes lifeless. Once again, the key is turned, and the
ballerina reanimates and commences with what is expected. At this point in the video, the trapped
ballerina catches a glimpse of a butterfly outside the globe before it morphs back into the bat she has
always seen. This brings the realization that perhaps her view and perceptions are not what they seem
and this galvanizes her. She gathers up

The Symbolism Of Color In The Wizard Of Oz
In the Wizard of Oz color plays a role in the novel through different characters, scenes and scenery.
My opinion of the novel, color is used as a guidance throughout the story to reach the Wizard of Oz.
The first main idea of the story is Dorothy stepping out from her black and white world into the
explosive world of colors. The second main idea is the colors red and green representing different
ideas of the story. The third main idea is Dorothy s ruby red slippers having a power only Dorothy
could use.
Dorothy is surprised and amazed at what she sees when she steps out into the Land of Oz with all its
colorfulness. Even though Dorothy is a little scared at first she is quickly greeted by the beautiful good
witch dressed in white. The good

Freedom Summer Research Paper
In the Summer of 1964, the Mississippi Summer Project, also known as Freedom Summer, was
organized by several Civil Rights organizations such as the Student Nonviolent Coordination
Committee and the Congress on Racial Equality. The event that caused the start of Freedom Summer
were that many African Americans were not registered to vote, this was because the southern states
had implemented literacy tests that were unfair and could be interpreted differently, and Poll Taxes
which were ridiculous amounts to pay ( Freedom Summer ). Other causes include the case of Plessy
Vs. Ferguson, which stated the Separate but Equal clause, and also Racial segregation. Freedom
Summer Volunteers included White Northerners, and the organization was made to focus on the
Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, Voter Registration, Freedom Schools, and Community Centers
( Timeline: Freedom Summer ). There was a need for the Freedom Summer because Many African
American People in the south were being oppressed by Literacy Tests and Poll Taxes. ... Show more

They refused to move to the segregated spots on the bus once they arrived in a segregated state. The
events that caused the Freedom Riders was the segregation on public transportation. Some groups that
were involved in the Freedom Riders were the Congress on Racial Equality, since the organization
recruited the Freedom Riders, and also the Interstate Commerce Commission, because that
organization was the one to prohibit segregation on busses and trains throughout America in
September 1961( Freedom Riders ). There was a need for the formation of the freedom Riders because
it was clear to many people that segregation on public transportation was not only an outdated
practice, but also racist, it needed to be stopped once and for

The Stark Law Essays
The Stark Law
Some federal statutes address fraud in government health care programs, and many of these laws vary
considerably (Krause 2004). Some of these laws specifically target health care fraud. Example of the
laws that the government direct at inappropriate health care activities includes the Medicare and
Medicaid Anti Kickback Statute and Ethics in Patient Referrals Act (EPRA).
In 1989, Congress enacted the Ethics in Patient Referrals Act. Commonly known as Stark law,
Congress named it in honor of Rep. Pete Stark, a Democrat from California, and original sponsor of
the bill (Sprague 2004). This law places limitations on self referrals by physicians and prohibits
physicians from referring patients to organizations in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Considering the provisions of the Stark law, it is clear that Congress enacted the law to curb the self
referrals that were prevalent among medical practitioners due to the sprawling specialty hospitals and
health facilities (Choudhry, Choudhry, and Brennan 2005). Furthermore, Congress saw the need to
prevent a physician s referral decision that is dependent on a selfish, financial gain. The idea was to
preclude overutilization of certain health care facilities that may arise from objectionable referrals and
the resultant increase in health care cost (Staman 2010).
Congress created the Stark law, which is compiled as Section 1877 of the Social Security Act, as part
of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1989, Public Law 101 239, 103 Stat. 2423 (1989); the
Stark law is codified at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn. In 1993, Congress passed the Omnibus Budget
Reconciliation Act that significantly amended the Stark law, and the amendment is commonly known
as Stark II (Staman 2010). In essence, Stark I and Stark II were not created as stand alone laws but as
provisions in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliations of 1989 and 1993. The Stark law defines a
financial relationship at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn to include either (1) an ownership or investment interest
in the entity or (2) a compensation arrangement between

Corporate Competition, Monopoly, And Monopoly
A firm, an organization which employs resources in order to provide a product or service at a profit,
can be grouped into one of four distinct market structures: perfect competition, monopolistic
competition, oligopoly, and monopoly. Each market structure has its own unique characteristics. Once
a firm is classified, one is able to understand how price and output are determined by a firm. Beval
Saddlery, a firm established in May 1955 by Bev Walter, grew from a shop in a one car garage to a
renowned organization in the equestrian world. Through analysis of the number of firms in the
saddlery industry, the types of products produced by the firms, the ease of entry into the industry, and
the control the individual firms have over the sale price of products, the industry in which Beval
Saddlery operates can be categorized as a monopolistic competition.
To begin with, a monopolistic competition is one of the four major market models. A monopolistic
competition is an industry made up of many producers. The producers in a monopolistic competition
provide differentiated products. Product differentiation includes varied physical characteristics of
products, customer service, and or locational convenience. Differentiation allows firms to be
prominent in the industry. Since goods and or services are differentiated, there is a considerable
amount of emphasis on non price competition, advertising. Although the competition is prevalent in
this market, entry into the industry is

Examples Of Antigone In Dante s Inferno
In the Inferno, Dante sets up the structure of Hell which is shown as nine circles of anguish. Hell is a
place of punishment for those who intentionally chose the sinful way of life, where Heaven is a place
of recompense for those who purposefully chose the virtuous way. Before entering the first circle of
Hell, where people have committed a specific sin, there must be a place for those who neither chose a
side of righteousness or wickedness. Dante created a vestibule of Hell, a circle of Hell that precedes
the first circle of Hell, Limbo. The vestibule is home to those who were uncommitted in life, the
people who never made a decision for themselves. Having not made a decision in life, these souls do
not belong is neither Heaven nor Hell. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The city of suffering, eternal pain, and those that are lost. The fourth line of the inscription, Justice
inspired my exalted Creator. , creates an impression that God constructed Hell for justice, not only to
see the sins of those punished, but also to rewarded those who were moral.
Dante, however, established that this hell is a creation not of the devil but of the Trinity. This is shown
where the inscription mentions I am a creature of the Holiest Power, of Wisdom in the Highest and of
Primal Love , where it represents God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Hell is of God s making, not an
independent city of rebels, but is dependent of those who rebelled against their maker. Although hell is
a place of eternal suffering, it is also a place that serves justice. The basic meaning of the sign is that
of those sinners who did not repent their sins.
Another instance of God s rule is shown with Charon, the one who ferries the souls of the deceased
across the River Acheron. Charon refuses to take Dante on to the boat since he is living. Virgil
declares that Dante s presence is of God s approval, resulting in Charon s change in decision. Charon
accepted that it was God s desire for Dante to continue, hence Charon took orders from God, not
Satan, making God in charge of the

  • 2. Predisposition In The News Media When it comes to politics and media, the left argues that the right is more biased than the left while the right argues that the left is more biased than the right. Who s right? News media predisposition is real. It diminishes the nature of news coverage, and it cultivates doubt among peruses and viewers. This is terrible for the majority rule government. Predisposition in the news media shows itself most capably not as through and through, deliberate untruths, but rather is frequently an element of what the correspondents pick not to tell their group of onlookers; for example the truths they intentionally discard in order to abstain from repudiating the political story they wish to progress. • 3. Analysis Of They Live They Live: Timely or Timeless? John Carpenter s 1988 film They Live is cult classic steeped in 1980 s America milieu. The film follows protagonist John Nada, played by professional wrestler Roddy Piper. Nada, a hobo of sorts, rides the rails westward in search of work. The first scene of the film finds our vagabond main character disembarking from his heavily discounted travel arrangements, and strutting nonchalantly by foot into a nearby metropolis. Nada travels light. All he has to his name is his pack, and a few changes of clothes, which never stray from, fitted jeans, flannel shirt, and work boots, which tell you a lot about his line of work. Moreover, if his attire is not a dead giveaway as to his chosen profession then his stature is. Nada is built like a truck from years of labor intensive work with his hands, mostly in construction. He is the embodiment of the working poor with an eighties macho twist. That twist being, on top of being a physical specimen, he is also armed with catchy one liners, sports breathtaking hair that flirts on mullet dom, and is an expert on every firearm he comes across. They Live does not stop there; it gives us even more of what we have come to love about eighties action flicks. Is there a scene where the main character finds a reason to take off his shirt to show us how ripped he is? Yes. Is there a female love interest who uses too much hair spray? Yes again. Does the film have countless gunfights where the good guy is shot at a thousand times and is never hit by a single bullet? Furthermore, does one of those firefights end with a henchman being shot followed by him awkwardly falling off the roof he was perched upon? It is the eighties, you bet your sweet neon jacket it does. So, if They Live is flooded with dated camp then why is it so beloved? Well besides being a film that highlights eighties style and tropes, it also puts a magnifying glass on eighties America as a society as well. The cultural climate of the United States in the eighties can be attributed to many factors, but a majority of the responsibility usually falls on one person in this country the president. The president for the majority of the eighties was Ronald Reagan, the most famous of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Dora The Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, And The Simpsons More than a decade has passed, since the beginning of academic research in regards to the impact of TV series on small children s development. Evidences collected since that time entail limited educational or cognitive benefits of commercial TV animated series for young children, especially when comparing to the information they might learn from live, social interactions (Vaala, 2014). In spite of this fact, most American toddlers and infants do spend time watching animated educational TV series with the statistics indicating approximately 60 80 minutes of daily viewing for the average child (Rideout, 2013). At the time when international viewing rates are not yet available, estimates that exist now bring forth that children s TV viewing time is increasing (Vaala Hornik, 2014). SpongeBob SquarePants also teaches lessons but is more geared toward entertainment than education. However, SpongeBob also provides correct attitudes, behaviors, and ways to understand many different situations that children might be confronted with in their daily life. The consequences and the never ending debates on the matter ripple through to this day, including the many alternatives or whether it was a morally acceptable choice. As this is a pretty controversial topic, I feel the need to put an emphasis on the fact that the decision to bomb Japan was made at a time of war. The big question of this study is to investigate white matter differences to give better understanding of neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer s disease and Parkinson s disease. If all the novel s characters speak in the same manner, there won t be many ways to tell them apart. The way a person speaks can give insight on their personality, upbringing and, even something as simple as age. Shelley s characters all seem to speak with the same manner of speech. They all sound like they are from upper class families. It s hard to distinguish one from the other without indicators. The perfect example in this is found with Frankenstein s monster. He learned to speak from books and listening to the people who lived in the cottage he hid behind. This family would certainly would not have spoken in the same fashion the Frankenstein family did. Yet, when the monster speaks he sounds like Victor Frankenstein, an upper class gentleman. You also find this issue with William Frankenstein, Victor s younger brother. William is supposed to be six years old. His speech, however, is that of someone three times his age. William Frankenstein talks like everyone else in the book. Thus, it s hard to imagine him as a child. This is what makes novels so unique and a character s speech so important. The only image the reader has of these people is that which is created in their minds. When a young boy talks like a man, it s hard to see him as a young boy. The image is distorted. This was Apollo 11 for the moon landing conspiracy theorists, who will swear by their beliefs despite the standard opinion of the television and the textbook. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the New York Herald in Paris remarked, It is difficult to fly. It is easy to say, We have flown, two things fueled skepticism in the face of scientific achievement: a disbelief in technological capabilities, and a lack of demonstrable results. The Apollo missions extinguished both concerns. In terms of technology, hoax believers frequently mention the Soviets constant lead in the Space Race. They achieved many firsts, but were never able to send men to the moon; it seems logical, then, that this feat must have been beyond the Americans as well. But in reality, the United States was never far behind. In fact, by 1965, it overtook its rival, reaching many milestones that were key to manned lunar missions (e.g. space rendezvous). NASA, thus, was in a good position to travel to the moon and to the moon it traveled. As noted in Lunar Rocks and Soils from Apollo Missions, it even brought back some souvenirs, in the form of 842 pounds of moon rocks. These samples possess unique properties unseen in any Earth counterparts, and to forge these rocks in such large volumes would have been impossible. Rocks aside, there are other reasons to believe in the moon landings as well: reflectors left on the lunar surface, or landing site imagery, to name a few. Surely, the validity of the landings lacks no evidence in support. Then again, the vast majority of us have never been in space, on the moon, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This element is used to make fun of something that the author disapproves of in a comical but hidden way. Widely considered as one of the greatest satirists to ever live, Jonathan Swift used satire in his works to express his disgust in society and the British Monarchy during the 18th century. One of the greatest satires ever written by Swift was Gulliver s Travels. In Gulliver s Travels, Swift expresses his fury towards the British Monarchy and points out the many faults within the royal court. Swift first states in Gulliver s Travels, when a great office is vacant either by death or disgrace (which often happens) five or six of those candidates petition the Emperor to entertain his Majesty and the court with a dance on the rope, and whoever jumps the highest without falling, succeeds in the office (Swift 44). This statement in the book shows his anger towards how people get into office. Showing how people will climb over each other to get an office position and that the monarchy will only let people with a plentiful amount of money and a good name run for office. Gulliver also notices within the book that all objects on the island of Lilliput are the same size as the Lilliputians, noticing this he makes the statement, ...but nature hath adapted the eyes of the Lilliputians to all objects proper for their view: they see with great exactness... (Swift 62). Swift is satirizing in these lines that the British Monarchy is near sighted to problems outside of their kingdom and only care about Britain. Attempts at cloning might go back to much earlier times such as the attempt made by Hans Dreisch in the late 1800 s to clone a sea urchin, but it was not until 1951, when the first successful clone of frog egg was created, that goal was finally achieved. Still, the world had to wait for another 44 years before the first mammal was cloned. It was certainly sensational when the first cloned mammal, a sheep named Dolly was born on 5th July 1996. Since it was a milestone in human story, Dolly gained a world wide fame overnight and took its place in the front pages of many newspapers and even tabloids next to celebrities. Fernando Cardenal, serving as the National Literacy Crusade Coordinator, and Valerie Miller, a CNA advisor, outlined that the literacy campaign would not just eradicate illiteracy, but create an identity of a new man [and a] new woman for Nicaraguans. Through the CNA, the Sandinistas hoped to introduce young Nicaraguans to the difficulties and hardship endured by Nicaragua s poor rural population. For many of the brigadistas who volunteered, the 1980 literacy campaign served as their first experience with the other side of Nicaragua s population, a side that remained unseen and not thought of by many under the Somoza regime. The life that brigadistas lived in during the CNA significantly altered their perspectives on society, both politically and culturally. The Sandinistas did in fact succeed at redefining the concept of the Nicaraguan experience for its youth. The Nicaraguan volunteers in the National Literacy Crusade developed a sense of new nationalism for Nicaragua defined by their experiences with the illiterate Nicaraguan population. The accounts of this change is most evident from the experiences of brigadistas working in the Nicaragua s poor rural regions. Sensory memory is the shortest memory in the shortest term memory element. One of the types of memory allows you to remember information through the 5 senses. The brain will remember anything that happened from 1 second to 60 seconds using the sensory part of your memory. An example of sensory memory is: I got hit in the head with a purple yo yo. • 43. Analysis Of Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Freshly... Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Featuring Lzzy Hail and Freshly Ground s Pot Belly, depict two different categories of perception: perceptions of oneself and perceptions of others. These perceptions, though diverse, show a modern day view of how people are characterized and viewed externally. The latter music video reveals two people and their perceptions of each other; in contrast, the first video displays one person s view of not only themselves, but also the world around them. Viewed side by side, both videos show how perceptions shape the tolerance and the understanding people have about themselves. Together, these videos show that most perceptions are not fully factual, but rather are often distorted and limited as a result of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consequently, she acts and behaves in this predicted manner; a figure of perfection surrounded by a glass globe, the stereotype of who she perceives herself to be, but more importantly, by the way she perceives others view her and expect her to act. While imprisoned in this globe, she feels she cannot act upon her own volition as she can only reanimate once a key is turned. As Lindsey Stirling s video continues, it becomes clear that the ballerina is tired and unhappy with this banal routine. An effective picture is painted of the warped perception she has of herself and, conversely, her view of the world. This is especially highlighted when she observes light coming from outside the globe and a spark of hope appears on her face. This, in turn, motivates her to shatter the glass surrounding her, but she is unsuccessful in this attempt, despite the appearance of cracks in the glass. Before long, the music stops and she becomes lifeless. Once again, the key is turned, and the ballerina reanimates and commences with what is expected. At this point in the video, the trapped ballerina catches a glimpse of a butterfly outside the globe before it morphs back into the bat she has always seen. This brings the realization that perhaps her view and perceptions are not what they seem and this galvanizes her. She gathers up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Symbolism Of Color In The Wizard Of Oz In the Wizard of Oz color plays a role in the novel through different characters, scenes and scenery. My opinion of the novel, color is used as a guidance throughout the story to reach the Wizard of Oz. The first main idea of the story is Dorothy stepping out from her black and white world into the explosive world of colors. The second main idea is the colors red and green representing different ideas of the story. The third main idea is Dorothy s ruby red slippers having a power only Dorothy could use. Dorothy is surprised and amazed at what she sees when she steps out into the Land of Oz with all its colorfulness. Even though Dorothy is a little scared at first she is quickly greeted by the beautiful good witch dressed in white. The good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Freedom Summer Volunteers included White Northerners, and the organization was made to focus on the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, Voter Registration, Freedom Schools, and Community Centers ( Timeline: Freedom Summer ). • 46. The Stark Law Essays The Stark Law Some federal statutes address fraud in government health care programs, and many of these laws vary considerably (Krause 2004). Some of these laws specifically target health care fraud. Example of the laws that the government direct at inappropriate health care activities includes the Medicare and Medicaid Anti Kickback Statute and Ethics in Patient Referrals Act (EPRA). In 1989, Congress enacted the Ethics in Patient Referrals Act. Commonly known as Stark law, Congress named it in honor of Rep. Pete Stark, a Democrat from California, and original sponsor of the bill (Sprague 2004). This law places limitations on self referrals by physicians and prohibits physicians from referring patients to organizations in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Considering the provisions of the Stark law, it is clear that Congress enacted the law to curb the self referrals that were prevalent among medical practitioners due to the sprawling specialty hospitals and health facilities (Choudhry, Choudhry, and Brennan 2005). Furthermore, Congress saw the need to prevent a physician s referral decision that is dependent on a selfish, financial gain. The idea was to preclude overutilization of certain health care facilities that may arise from objectionable referrals and the resultant increase in health care cost (Staman 2010). Congress created the Stark law, which is compiled as Section 1877 of the Social Security Act, as part of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1989, Public Law 101 239, 103 Stat. 2423 (1989); the Stark law is codified at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn. In 1993, Congress passed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act that significantly amended the Stark law, and the amendment is commonly known as Stark II (Staman 2010). In essence, Stark I and Stark II were not created as stand alone laws but as provisions in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliations of 1989 and 1993. The Stark law defines a financial relationship at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn to include either (1) an ownership or investment interest in the entity or (2) a compensation arrangement between ... • 47. Corporate Competition, Monopoly, And Monopoly A firm, an organization which employs resources in order to provide a product or service at a profit, can be grouped into one of four distinct market structures: perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly. Each market structure has its own unique characteristics. Once a firm is classified, one is able to understand how price and output are determined by a firm. Beval Saddlery, a firm established in May 1955 by Bev Walter, grew from a shop in a one car garage to a renowned organization in the equestrian world. Through analysis of the number of firms in the saddlery industry, the types of products produced by the firms, the ease of entry into the industry, and the control the individual firms have over the sale price of products, the industry in which Beval Saddlery operates can be categorized as a monopolistic competition. To begin with, a monopolistic competition is one of the four major market models. A monopolistic competition is an industry made up of many producers. The producers in a monopolistic competition provide differentiated products. Product differentiation includes varied physical characteristics of products, customer service, and or locational convenience. Differentiation allows firms to be prominent in the industry. Since goods and or services are differentiated, there is a considerable amount of emphasis on non price competition, advertising. Although the competition is prevalent in this market, entry into the industry is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Examples Of Antigone In Dante s Inferno In the Inferno, Dante sets up the structure of Hell which is shown as nine circles of anguish. Hell is a place of punishment for those who intentionally chose the sinful way of life, where Heaven is a place of recompense for those who purposefully chose the virtuous way. Before entering the first circle of Hell, where people have committed a specific sin, there must be a place for those who neither chose a side of righteousness or wickedness. Dante created a vestibule of Hell, a circle of Hell that precedes the first circle of Hell, Limbo. The vestibule is home to those who were uncommitted in life, the people who never made a decision for themselves. Having not made a decision in life, these souls do not belong is neither Heaven nor Hell. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The city of suffering, eternal pain, and those that are lost. The fourth line of the inscription, Justice inspired my exalted Creator. , creates an impression that God constructed Hell for justice, not only to see the sins of those punished, but also to rewarded those who were moral. Dante, however, established that this hell is a creation not of the devil but of the Trinity. This is shown where the inscription mentions I am a creature of the Holiest Power, of Wisdom in the Highest and of Primal Love , where it represents God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Hell is of God s making, not an independent city of rebels, but is dependent of those who rebelled against their maker. Although hell is a place of eternal suffering, it is also a place that serves justice. The basic meaning of the sign is that of those sinners who did not repent their sins. Another instance of God s rule is shown with Charon, the one who ferries the souls of the deceased across the River Acheron. Charon refuses to take Dante on to the boat since he is living. Virgil declares that Dante s presence is of God s approval, resulting in Charon s change in decision. Charon accepted that it was God s desire for Dante to continue, hence Charon took orders from God, not Satan, making God in charge of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
