Essay on Conformity and Political Control
The political system in the United States of America is ruled by a two party system that is currently
fighting for control of the economy and government. In the last century the country has been
involved in several conflicts including two world wars and the cold war, which permanently
instilled fear and terror in the American psyche. After the terrorist attacks of September 11th, the
economy was brought to the edge of failure leaving a bi partisan political system with the attitude
that there is either a democratic or republican solution to the many problems Americans face as a
nation. Due to the fact that there is so much at stake, both political parties have resorted to tactics
that prey on the fact that human beings usually conform to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is a generalization of the effect, but this geo political representation can also be shown on a
smaller or larger scale. Residents of small towns usually affiliate with the same political party and
the majority residents of a larger region will usually affiliate with the same party. This is where the
idea of the conservative south or liberal north comes from. The fact that people automatically
conform to those around them has negative repercussions in more than one political arena. The idea
that people conform to political affiliations regionally affects the way the House of Representative
re draws their district lines. This happens so frequently on the state and federal level that that
practice has actually been termed gerrymandering. Unfortunately the practice of gerrymandering
practically undermines the political process in America emphasizing the importance of which party
has the majority in The House of Representatives and taking focus away from their socio
economical principles. The lawmakers of this country utilize the fact that people will automatically
conform to others around them to their advantage creating a political system that is not truly
democratic.
Politicians of both parties also take advantage of the fact that people are likely to conform due to
normative influences. Normative influences lead people to conform due to the fear or backlash of
others (Kassin, 2011, p.258).

The Current Year 2017, Marks The 20Th Anniversary Of The
The current year 2017, marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of Netflix. In today s society,
Netflix and Chill is an actual term used by Millennials, young adults, and adolescents. Netflix
accounts are shared like candy, and a break up results in your ex continuing to use your Netflix
account. It is hard to imagine a time when this was not the norm, when Netflixdid not exist. In order
to live the Netflix obsessed lives society does, what had to happen? What is the history of Netflix?
The Founding of Netflix In 1997, Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph co founded Netflix. The duo
became acquainted through their previous jobs at Pure Atria. Coincidentally Hastings and
Randolph both lived in Santa Cruz, and were in the same little ... Show more content on

This idea was ruled out because of logistical challenges (Xavier) with VHS tapes. However,
around this time DVD s were up and coming, allowing for the resurrection of this otherwise
buried idea. In order to see if shipping would be a problem, Hastings and Randolph mailed a CD
to Reed s house (Xavier). This is one of the founding myth stories that is actually very true
(Xavier). When the CD arrived at Hastings house undamaged the two realized that they may just be
on to something. Following their epiphany was a period of working through the details (Xavier),
where Randolph mainly, worked through things such as cost and how the company would work.
Eventually there was nothing else that could be researched or worked out and the pair had to jump
(Xavier) into their new business. Once the company began, Randolph ran the company as CEO and
Hastings funded it and contributed when he could.
The Growth of Netflix Today only Hastings remains with Netflix, while Randolph left the
company back in 2002, and the company s board of directors in 2004. Leadership is not the only
change Netflix has seen. The Netflix known today bears almost a zero resemblance (Xavier) to
the original concept Hastings and Randolph envisioned for Netflix. The original concept was to
provide a movie rental service without due dates and late fees. However, logistics did not favor
this vision, and instead Netflix s

The choice of Morrisons for me is the uniqueness of its business strategy and steady growth
patterns. With the acquisition of Safeway, Morrisons has been able to consolidate the gains of the
synergy in a slow but progressive manner. This makes the company an interesting case study.
Furthermore, in the current economic climate where businesses are failing and competition is
fierce it is also important to see through its business trend whether Morrisons is prepared for future
challenges. The supermarket chain industry is very dynamic in the UK and there is a continuous
fierce battle for market share. In the light of the fact that the United Kingdom is in a recession it
would be interesting to see how prepared the company is financially and strategically to survive in
these times.
Project Objectives
The project objectives are as follows;
1. To assess the business and financial performance of Morrison s over the three year period to 3rd

2. To review the year on year performance of Morrison s with a view to assess the effectiveness of
its strategies its readiness for the future.
3. To evaluate Morrison s competitive position in the grocery/supermarket industry.
Research Questions
The questions posed by this research are as follows;
1. How effective is Morrison s business and financial strategy over the three year period under

This Is Our Life Poem Comparison
Both of the poems mentioned that because of science fiction we are seeing the world differently.
Instead of seeing the real effects of how we are and what we do we see things to be a fantasy.
Seeing how we re not paying attention to the actual surroundings we don t really think about why
things happen. We just see things as normal because it s something we don t really think about. In
the first poem the opening started out with This is not a fantasy, this is our life. Throughout this
poem it mentions that we are the inventors and that we are the people who make the changes with
our surroundings. Being in charge of this gives us an important role on the things that we hold
together. The second poem just speaks about the negative things about this kind of genrebecause it
denies how things actually are.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

things be how they are. But the way that it is told on us it just makes us not see the reality of the
things and by that we don t really pay attention on what is occurring. The fact that people want to
get rid of the genre is reasonable because it s just like hearing false propaganda. We must be able
to see how the things we can cause and not be told we have nothing to do with everything that is
around us. It s a bad genre and the way it wants to get removed probably won t have a bad effect on
people because then they would need to stop believing the fictional things and start thinking about

How Did Roman Roads Affected Rome
Roads are infrastructure we use every day in conjunction with vehicles to travel around. Roads
affect us daily, just as Roman roads affected the Roman Empire. Roman roads were a crucial part
of Rome because they helped Rome expand their empire, trade easily, and move ideas along. Not
only that, but Roman roads were amazing engineering accomplishments.
Roman roads helped Rome expand and connect the entire empire together. Altogether, Roman roads
stretched about 53,000 miles. The most famous road is the Via Appia. This road is about 38.5
miles long. Most of these roads were military roads that helped armies move quickly to a
destination in order to attack or defend an area. These roads also allowed supply vehicles filled
with food, equipment, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The road consisted of a trench that was filled with stones, pebbles, rough gravel, broken concrete,
shards of rock, shards of pottery, or. This was the foundation. A foundation was important
because a bad foundation would let the road sag. It was filled tightly and smoother gravel was
laid on top. This made it smooth so that the paving stones would not shake. The paving stones
were placed on top and the center of the road was raised to allow for the drainage of water in
rainy weather. Ditches were dug on the sides of the road to take the water and move it away.
Pedestrians would walk on sidewalks, which were about 1 3 meters in width. These sidewalks
were separated from the road by a curb made of stone slabs. Roads were reinforced and perfected
in order for Romans to be able to move quickly. The average road was about 4.2 meters wide,
enough to let two wheeled vehicles pass each other. Because Romans knew that the shortest
distance between two places is a straight line, roads were built in straight lines, only curving when
an obstacle was impossible to pass. To be able to move in a straight line, Romans built bridges,
diverted creeks, cut forests, dug flat areas, drained marshes, cut into mountainsides, and tunneled
through mountains to keep the road straight. Mountain roads sometimes had ridges help people and
animals not slip down the mountain. Other roads might have grooves to guide wheeled

Sponsorship And Its Associated Rights
Sponsorship and its associated rights have grown in the last three decades to create what is today,
a full time industry. Fundamental to all sporting games and associations, O Sullivan and Murphy,
1998, give an indication into its express ride to the top of the marketing pyramid; The growth of
commercial sponsorship has been perhaps the most striking development in marketing
communications over the last two decades . As the need and competition for sponsorship has
grown and developed, so too has to the need to compete for and secure sponsorship rights (Hoek
and Gendall 2002). This increase in demand and competition gives way for the emergence of what
is collectively known as Ambush Marketing .

who aligned themselves closely with numerous Olympic Athletes including Susie O Neill, Cathy
Freeman and Ian Thorpe. Three of the most talk about members of the team. Qantas developed
advertisement campaigns based around these athletes and their lead up to the Olympic Games.
They also ran Olympic Sales slashing prices for flights to and from Sydney throughout the
Olympic Game period. It was research conducted by Roy Morgan Research that found that 42% of
Australians believed Qantas to be the official airline sponsor compared to that of 15% for Ansett.
Although a number of advertisements had in the fine print that they were not the official sponsor,
Qantas strategically geared their advertisements to detract from Ansett and align that connection
with themselves. Prior to the 2000 Olympics, Qantas rebranded their image and developed the tag
line the Spirit of Austraila which was reminiscent of the Sydney Olympics tagline Share the Spirit
. Share the Spirit was a successful tag line for Qantas and ensured they solidified their name in the
Olympic era. Due to its nature of not directly associated itself with the Olympics, this kind of

Danger Of Symbolic Events Essay
The Dangers of Symbolic Events or Holidays in the United States
Any gathering of people can be a potential target for someone or some group. This is nothing new
however. It has as happened for centuries and will continue to happen. The definition of terrorism is
to use violence and threats to intimidate or to coerce others, particularly for political purposes.
Staying home huddled in fear is not an option. If you are forced to change, because of a threat then
you have been coerced, and you now have lost a certain amount of freedom, but then again survival
is the objective.
The so called lone wolf attack is the hardest one to guard against, because a person can have
intentions that are not disclosed to anyone, and if they are, it is usually to sympathizers that only
encourage the behavior and not deter it. In some cases, there is no trail to pick up, so ... Show more

Becoming drunk in public makes you a target for literally anyone, because you may think you can
deter someone but you cannot.
Soft targets are typically those not guarded well or at all, and so they make easy targets. Attackers
do not want to be fired upon. They do not want anything to slow or to stop their carnage, so they
will choose targets that they suspect or know will not be guarded well, such as malls, outdoor
markets, parades, parties, and any gathering in a public place.
If you have to leave in a hurry do you know which way to go and if the first avenue is blocked do
you have an alternative route mapped in your head. This is the world we all live in today, and we
all have to pay attention to what is happening in our immediate area, and around the world so we
can do threat assessments.
Enjoy life, enjoy celebrations but always have an eye to the trees, to the shadows and always have
an escape route mapped out in your head. Consider the what ifs at all

Christian Dualism Research Paper
Christian theology developed in the very act of responding to pagan objections remarks Gonzalez
(63). As the church grew the practice of theology resulted in many interpretations and threatened
traditions held about the nature of God. Gnosticism made inroads claiming that Christ was a
messenger who carried gnosis so that humanity could return to its spiritual origins (72). It viewed
the physical world as evil so the form of Jesusbody was open to interpretation consistent with the
thought that it wasn t physical like the bodies of other people and couldn t die so it also could not
rise again. Some held that life in the world should discipline our bodies while others held that the
human spirit was inviolable and life in the body should be unrestrained. This duality of physical
and spiritual also gave rise to Marcionism.
Marcion believed that the God of the Old Testament (Yahweh) and of the New Testament (Father
of Christ) were two different gods. Because he viewed Yahweh as the creator, he rejected the
incarnation since it would have made Jesus subject to an inferior god. He established a church that
used the letters of Paul and the Gospel of Luke and explained away Old Testament references by
blaming them on Judaizers (Gonzalez 74). These dualistic viewpoints directly relate to ... Show

Clement of Alexandria identified himself as the true gnostic and urged Christians to accept the truth

Sarah Norman Stereotypes
In the Academy Award winning film Children of a Lesser God, Director Randa Haines
characterizes Sarah Norman (played by Marlee Matlin), as a rambunctious deaf woman without
a purpose trying to find a place to fit in. Sarah deals with a bottled up anger regarding the way
people have treated her throughout her life and uses her beauty and sex as a replacement to fill
the void of the lack of communication with hearing people. In order for Sarah to fit in and to feel
accepted, she uses beauty and sex with boys/men so they would like accept her due to her hearing
disability. Sarah experiences audism, low self esteem, and finally reaches her self actualization. In
fact, Marlee Matlinis a deaf actress who can speak and she does not play the characterof Sarah as
having an ability to speak. Her role in the film shows a person with a disability can only succeed
as a janitor or nail technician. Her attitude displays anger which is clear in the scene when she
throws pots in the school kitchen, leading viewers to think that she has no self control or self
esteem because of her hearing disability. The principal, who is her employer, thinks Sarah cannot

Contradiction Between Morals in Sophocles Antigone Essay
Antigone: Contradiction Between Morals
In Ancient Greece, new ideals surfaced as answers to life s complicated questions. These new
beliefs were centered on the expanding field of science. Man was focused on more than the Gods
or heavenly concerns. A government that was ruled by the people was suggested as opposed to a
monarchy that had existed for many years. Freedom of religion was encouraged in city states.
These new ideals, though good in intentions, often conflicted with each other creating complex
moral dilemmas. Such was the case in Antigone, a play written by Sophocles during this era of
change. In the play, Antigone and Creon battle a philosophical war exemplifying the conflict
existing in the Greek ideals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important ideal in Ancient Greece was the belief that the government was to have no control in
matters concerning religious beliefs. In Antigone s eyes, Creon betrayed that ideal by not allowing
her to properly bury her brother, Polynices. She believed that the burial was a religious ceremony,
and Creon did not have the power to deny Polynices that right.
Antigone s strong beliefs eventually led her to her death by the hand of Creon. Never, though,
did she stop defending what she thought was right. As Creon ordered her to her death, Antigone
exclaimed, I go, his prisoner, because I honored those things in which honor truly belongs
(Sophocles page #). She is directly humiliating Creon by calling his opinions and decisions weak
and unjust. She also emphasizes his prisoner, which tells us that Creon s decision to capture
Antigone was his own, and was not backed up by the majority of the people. She feels that Creon
is abusing his power as king and dealing with her task to a personal level.
Creon s actions are guided by the ideal that states man is the measure of all things. The chorus
emphasizes this point during the play by stating that There is nothing beyond (man s) power
(Sophocles page #). Creon believes that the good of man comes before the gods. Setting the
example using Polynices body left unburied is a symbol of Creon s belief. No man who is his
country s enemy shall call himself my friend (Sophocles page #).

St. Julian In The Haut MГ©doc Case Study
A RICH LADY IN Bacchus neighborhood was divorcing her husband and had a garage sale of
his large wine collection. Bacchus flew there like a bee towards clover. An older lady had a bottle

the stratosphere, began mid way through the century with 2 nations competing for the right to plant
their flag on the surface of the moon. The lunar space race gave birth to national aerospace

Numerous players have begun to materialize in the field of private space travel. This emerging
market could be the key to success as NASA now set its sights, beyond the moon, towards
neighboring planets. Government outsourcing to the private sector isn t a novel idea; however, in
this case innovations in engineering and manufacturing have introduced new opportunities for
governments and companies alike. SpaceX is one private company vying for an opportunity to
assume the task of delivering astronauts and supplies to the ISS. SpaceX is currently at the
forefront of lowering the cost of space travel by developing reusable rocket technology. Mike
Chafkin, senior writer at INC magazine, reports SpaceX charges $50 million to launch a satellite,
less than half the going rate. (83). Such a substantial reduction in overall cost would enable
organizations like NASA to reorganize spending towards the research and development of new
studies and technologies. Private enterprise may not lead the way to discovering new celestial
bodies but independent companies excel at improving efficiency and value. Companies competing
for government contracts have developed cost effective techniques and materials to edge out the
opposition. James Clay Moltz, professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, points out that private
companies require fewer workplace

Differences Between Arial And Helvetica
Super Normal, from a conceptual point of view, leans on an intentional and extraordinary
ambivalence (Fukasawa Morrison, 2012, p.1). Specifically, based on the terminology, it could be
taken both as an oxymoron that super opposes normal , means beyond ; or a concept of absolute
superlative in which the Super Normal determines the superlative of normal to its greatest degree in
its ontological form. Although the etymology of what is considered to be normal relates to ordinary
with no features, in the context of what Fukusawa and Morrison defined, Super Normal are not

They both are sans serif typefaces that are universally embraced by different communication
platforms. At first glance, they seem very similar. When Arial was released in 1982, it was seen as
a copy of Helvetica of 1957. But if designers examine the characters in each typeface closely, the
differences between them become apparent. Mark Simonson (2001), an American graphic
designer, produced an analysis of this two, showing how much more refined Helvetica is than
Arial. The primary difference is Helvetica is vertically cut, while Arial is slightly angled. For
instance, the tail of the a is gently curved in Helvetica, as is the first connection of the bowl to the
stem, but not in Arial. Similarly, the top of the t and the ends of the strokes in the C and S are
perfectly horizontal in the former, but slightly angled in the latter. In My mind, even though the
distinguishing details are so tiny that can be noticed when they are scrutinized magnified versions
of each character as Simonson did. Yet it is these subtleties that constitute Helvetica a finer
example of design than Arial, especially for professionals. Functionally the two types are roughly
equal, both are admirable clear, but aesthetically Helvetica is

How does Shakespeare present relationship between Men and Women and how might a modern day

During the time of Shakespeare women lived in a male dominated society. Women In this period
had virtually no legal power and lost all right to own all personal property when they married.
Men were expected to be the heads of the households. Once a boy turned eight he no longer was
required to obey his mother. The ideal woman was believed to be a virgin and a faithful wife.
Female honour and social respectability were tied so closely to sexuality that death was often
presented as preferable to the loss of female chastity. The relationships between Men and Women In

Climate Change Policy In Canada Essay
Climate policy in Canada is primarily implemented through information, persuasion and voluntary
action programs. Canadian policymakers have generally been reluctant to use instruments that put
an explicit price on emissions (i.e. tax). This type of attitude towards climate policy stems from
the fear of having a negative impact on their overall economic performance and competitiveness of
the Canadian industry (Bohringer and Rutherford, 2010). However simply using soft measures
such as voluntary programs does not prevent increases of GHG emissions. All in all, the Harper
government had been very clear that it had no intention of imposing the types of policies required
by the Kyoto Protocol, which officially lead to Canada withdrawing from the agreement.
Climate Change Policies under Harper Government This section will examine the Harper
government s approach to climate change, and later contrast it to the current Trudeau government s
approach. Despite the fact that the current Trudeau government has only been in power for a short

General Purpose: Don t burden yourself with the weight of choices. Specific Purpose: By the
end of the speech the audience will: understand that I change my mind from being a logical
decision making machine to more open to mystery and randomness. Central Idea: The movie
Mr. Nobody changed my perspective on how decisions are important yet sometimes are left
better off to chance. Main Idea 1: I used to feel that decisions are better made logically and the
best most efficient way to reap the benefits is to weight your options and choose no matter how
hard it may be being predictable. Supporting idea 1a: Whenever I buy a drink, it s always a
Chocolate Chip Frappe. Because I know how it tastes, I know what I don t like about it. So, was...

No matter the situation, the choice must be right. But in Mr. Nobody, Nemo explains that not
all our choices have to be right. That s because we don t know what s right until they happen.
Main Idea 2: The movie Mr. Nobody showed me that knowing your actions or results doesn t
make it easier to live with ourselves. So sometimes when you take the blame off yourself and
put it on mystery, it makes life easier to live. Supporting idea 2a: Nemo had the choice to choose
to leave his mother or leave his father, and after seeing all his outcomes; he chooses none.
Because the burden of choosing one family member over the only raises complexity and conflict
in his mind. Also, running away was the only time his decisions couldn t be judged because he
didn t know what would happen. Supporting Idea 2b: The movie made me realize that the burden
my choices bear keeps me from choosing the choice that s good for me, so applying some
unpredictability to them helps. It may not be the right choice, but I wouldn t know which choice
was the best until I made one. Transition: a quote from the movie says, You have to make the right
choice. As long as you don t choose, everything remains

Health Care Policy Debate
In this paper will discuss the health care policy debate by explaining the current health policy
debate regarding the Affordable Care Act. This paper will showcase the values, markets, and
morals as well as the fairness and availability of care. It will look at who wins and who loses and
discuss equity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Lastly, this paper will show my own experiences
and opinions of the healthcare debate and where I stand on the subject. The Affordable Care Act
(ACA) was enacted in March 2010 the purpose of the act is to help uninsured individuals attain
healthcare coverage at a reasonable price. Critics of the ACA have resurrected doubts about its
cost containment measures and overall fiscal impact. (Orszag Emanuel 2010) Values in Health
Policy When looking at the value of health care policies we have to look at fairness and efficiency,
the term efficiency wears a lot of caps, generally when efficiency suites one person it impacts the
other person. One example is a cost analysis that was done on how much time it took for new
patients to be treated at my current employer. They looked at how much time was used for each
portion of the appointment. The results revealed that if the appointment time were shortened by ten
minutes the facility would show a better profit because more patients would be seen. However, this
frustrated the patients and families because they were being rushed through their appointments and
the patient satisfaction scores were

Evaluation Of A Correlational Study Design Essay
The present study contains a correlational study design as well as a between subject design. A
correlational study design will allow the researchers to adequately answer the first research
question. The correlational study design allows the researchers to identify and interpret any
correlational trends regarding mental health effects and the success of transitioning amongst the
participants. The dependent variable of the first research question includes the success of
transitioning (employment, education, residential status, and communication after high school)
and mental health (depression/anxiety, sleep, obesity, and physical activity). There is no
independent variable in the first research question due to the correlational design. A between
subject design will allow the researchers to effectively answer the second research question. This
type of design matches participants based on a related variable; groups with or without
employment to further examine any differences that may exist between the two groups. The
dependent variable of the second research question is the level of mental health. The independent
variable of this study is the two groups that the researchers are exploring: employment group vs.
non employment group. Participants The present study will include a target goal of 100
individuals with DS between the ages of 17 to 40 years old, and their parent or primary caregiver.

The Benefits of Introducing at-Home Testing for HIV in...
The growth of HIV cases in Indonesia is one of the most rapid ones among the countries in Asia
(UNAIDS 2013). Indonesia s Ministry of Health estimates that more than 500.000 people in
Indonesia will become infected with HIV in 2014 unless there is an acceleration of HIV prevention
programs (UNICEF Indonesia 2012). In Indonesia, the testing of HIVcurrently is done in voluntary
counseling and testing (VCT) clinics in selected hospitals. The patients are required to visit the
clinic to do the testing and counseling. VCT has been shown to have a role in both HIV prevention
and as an entry point to treatment (UNAIDS 2000). This program has been one of the most
important parts of national strategic plan to prevent and control HIV in Indonesia... Show more

Indeed, Wright and Katz (2006) announced that the amounts of suicide cases in the USA were not
increased after the approval of home testing kits by FDA in 1996. On the other hand, some people
feared that notification of negative result in home testing would diminish the chances to educate at
risk individuals to understand their risky behavior. Meanwhile, in VCT setting there are less
concerns about this problem because it has face to face counseling for patients with any results.
However, it is believed that direct counseling services currently provided in clinic based testing are
ineffective because they are too brief and inadequate (Harris 2005). Moreover, according to a study
that interviewed at risk individuals, most of them supported the argument that current face to face
counseling services were not necessarily optimal and also supported the introduction of new
counseling methods like brochures, magazine, and telephone counseling (Spielberg et al. as cited in
Whellams 2008). In fact, it has been demonstrated in a study by Frank et al. (1997) that pre test and
post test telephone counseling provided in anonymous HIV home collection kits offered a safe and
effective substitute to traditional VCT method.
Another drawback of at home testing kit especially OraQuick In Home Test is that it is not as
accurate as HIV blood tests currently used in the clinical setting. Its sensitivity is inferior to
standard HIV blood tests, especially the

The Quality Of Life Of Sumner House
This research project explored the quality of life of Sumner House residents utilizing the capability
approach and addressed these questions: what opportunities residents have to live a life they truly
value and how they perceive their quality of life at Sumner House. Based on six individual
interviews, this study identified a number of key capabilities for qualityof life perceived by Sumner
House residents including being healthy, receiving a high quality of care, being safe, being
independent and autonomous, having a social life, and conducting meaningful activities. The
researchfindings suggested that Sumner House provides residents with a range of opportunities to
achieve lives they have reason to value, especially capabilities for control over life and occupation.
Overall, interviewees expressed positive comments about their quality of life.
Interpretation of findings
Some of the research findings further support those arguments about the quality of life for older
adults in earlier studies. First of all, the value of bodily health is evident from the research. All
participants wish to keep as healthy as they can. Health condition is regarded to be linked to other
valued capabilities such as safety and independence. Therefore, Sumner House should continue to
enhance residents capability for health and delay the decline. Secondly, in accordance with results
of previous research, there is an evidence to show that residents can be taken care of well at

Online Education Vs Traditional Education
In the present world, there are a lot of options for a student to choose for his education. Each and
every student learning technique are different and learn differently and in today s world of
increasing technology, the question will be whether to offer classes or take up classes online, but
rather how to implement them effectively and efficiently. Hence a student must have to weigh a
huge list of pros and cons before they choose one of the two options, since the means of education
for these are different. Students have an opportunity to plan their own study time, if they choose
online classes instead of other way round where the university will decide the class time or
lecture time. Online classes can be taken at their own pace, sitting at their own home or at any
place they feel comfortable, on the contrary students should physically attend classes as per the
time prescribed by the professor, live near to the campus. In the online classes there is more
flexibility than traditional classroom because you can do your coursework any time of the day or
night without having a set schedule when you have to do your coursework. There are so many
people that are choosing to further their education by taking online courses instead of traditional
classroom because of their busy work schedules. Professors teaching online education have set

Return To Nature, Wedge s Stop And Think, By Kath Walker
Kath Walker s Return to Nature, Wedge s Stop and Think, and my book cover all relate to the
title of Back to Land through the message of retiring back to the natural world where it once was
or still is a happier place than human civilisation. Walker writes in her poem, Lover of my happy
past / Soothe my weariness with warm embrace. Turn not from me ... Am I strayed too long and
now forsaken? With the assistance of personification, we can see the narrator is attempting to return
to their romantic relationship with Mother Nature( lover of my happy past ), who is unforgiving
towards the narrator s actions. This emphasises the narrator s despair and guilt when pursuing the
renewal of their relationship. Meanwhile, Wedge s Stop and Think applies colour connotations
through stunning tones. The juxtaposition of the vibrant natural earth (symbol of life) against the

In this poem, the narrator says, My tear stained eyes, open now to see, your enemy and mine is
civilised me. Through the use of visual imagery, we can see both the narrator and the earth are
distraught at the destruction and replacement of land for living purposes. Outside the poem, we
know that humans are also capable of living outside of cities, so this is what the angry earth may
be meaning, thinking that civilised me could have been avoided, but yet the narrator (a human)
betrayed the earth and is now their enemy . Likewise, my book cover exhibits signs of influence
from this poem through its red background, not only being the colour of the cave wall but also
connoting a similar anger. This would symbolise the anger and betrayal of the earth against the
human hand, a main feature of the cover. The poem Return to Nature has had an impact on my

Poverty in Less Developed Countries Essay
Poverty in Developing and Less Developed Countries
The world includes less developed countries and developing countries. Less developed countries
are countries considered to be poor and often contain many people who are in absolute poverty.
Developing countries are countries like India, which are gaining in wealth.
There are two types of poverty within the world. Absolute poverty is where people don t have
enough money to provide standard living conditions for themselves and characteristics of
substandard lives are disease, malnutrition, and low life expectancy. Relative poverty is where a
person is considered poor in relation to the average wealth held in their society.

The disasters cause poverty because these countries are often weak financially and cannot afford
to restore their country after extensive damage. Therefore due to lack of resources the situation
gets worse. It affects their inhabitant s lives causing a lack of production leading to being unable
to provide for citizens. In turn leading to poverty, as they cannot even provide substances to trade
and lose money. Other factors that affect the lives of citizens are lack of clean water and standard
education. Lack of medical aid also affects the country badly. An ill and uneducated workforce
forms the basis of a weak, demoralised nation. These factors also lead to poverty.
Frequently, when a country in the developing world is struggling economically they appeal for aid
from organisations like the international monetary fund or the World Bank. They are issued loans
from developed countries like the USA and England at a high rate of interest. They are required
to pay over time, but the interest rates are so high that the country often finds itself in further debt
than before the loan. This problem is defined as world debt. Suggestions made recently have been
that all debt to be paid by the developing world should be written off and a fresh start made.
However the problem

Major influence on the steepness of SRATC curve at output level below point Q* is determined
by the fixed component of total cost. Then bigger/smaller fixed cost is then SRATC curve will be

Variable labour cost also has influence on the steepness of the SRATC curve especially when a

Understand The Relationship Between Health And Leisure...
Everyone in society partakes in leisure. Leisure may be in the form of watching TV, gardening,
fishing or playing a sport. The reasoning behind leisure participation also varies, individuals may
partake in leisure for health benefits, because of their friends are or simply, because they enjoy the
activity. It is important for leisurepractitioners too not only understand the health benefits leisure
provides an individual, but to also understand what motivates individuals to partake in leisure and
what types of barriers and constraints they may have to overcome for successful leisure
participation to occur. For the purpose of this essay the concepts extrinsic and intrinsic motivation,
self efficacy and learned helplessness will be explored.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An external stimulus results in individual s partaking in activities because there are rewards if
they partake or there is a punishment if they do not (Recours, Souville Griffet, 2004, p. 3). Rather
than doing something voluntarily for their enjoyment there is a reason they partake in the activity,
for example sporting activities may offer trophies and rewards (Iso Ahola, 1989,p. 255). This
extrinsic reward may motivate individuals to join sporting teams to receive a trophy or reward.
Extrinsic rewards can therefore undermine intrinsic motivation by rewarding individuals for
something they enjoy doing (Iso Ahola, 1999, p. 43). Extrinsic motivation can result in the feeling
of being controlled and restricted (Iso Ahola, 1999, p.43). The rewards and sanctions can also
affect behaviour, cognitive abilities, creativity and emotions (Iso Ahola, 1999, p. 43).
In the Mr Mathews case study, he assists at the nursing home and this is an example of being
intrinsically motivated. After the death of his wife he no longer visits the nursing home, and an
example of extrinsic motivation would be if the nursing home offered Mr Mathews a monetary
reward for assisting (Harvey, 2015). In this sense there would be a reward for Mr Mathews to
return to the nursing home and assist with the activities, in the form of money. The money would

Socrates Death Argument Analysis

Philosophy 100 M/W 8 9:15

Socrates Death Arguments Socrates was an ancient philosopher set in Athens, Greece. Socrates,
being known for stirring up arguments amongst the city s wisest men, grew widely unpopular in the
community. This unpopularity, and many other troubles led Socratesto be accused and sentenced to
trial for corrupting the youth, and of not believing in the Gods of the city. During Socrates trial, he
brings up arguments about why we should not fear death, just as he does not. In this essay I will
cover Socrates two arguments about death, their inconsistencies, and explain why Socrates changed
his position about death towards the end of the trial. While Socrates is being held ... Show more

He starts to talk about how this penalty of death is actually a good thing for him, and he is not
angry for it. Socrates then clearly says that he has proof that death is good. He starts to say that
death is a blessing and there are either two different scenarios of death. The first scenario of
death is having no perception of anything at all and having your soul relocated, like a great
dreamless sleep, which in Socrates eyes is truly a blessing. The second is in which your soul is
relocated elsewhere, you are able to talk to others that have passed like great figures from the past.
The alleged inconstancy is clear between these two arguments. The first argument Socrates states
that he does not fear death because he has no clue what lies beyond. He cannot fear what he does
not know of. With both arguments he is very confident in what he is saying, especially with the
second argument claiming that he has proof that death is good. In the second argument Socrates
says that death can be two things and then proceeds to explain what death is. In that argument, by
stating what death is, he is clearly saying that he has some knowledge about death and is
completely contradicting his first

The Sociological Imagination Summary
C. Wright Mills The Sociological Imagination brings forth a way of thinking where in order to
understand the biography of a distinct individual or the overall history of society, the two entities
must be understood as one reciprocal relationship. He states that one cannot be understand without
the other, and it is a thought that emphasizes how interlaced and dependent an individual is of
society, and a society is of the individuals that compose it. As a result, readers are invited in
moments of self evaluation of their own respective lives, their roles in society, and how society has
shaped them, through a new way of thinking. At first, the idea seems a bit overwhelming, especially

The Handsomest Drowned Man In The World Essay
Life, a series of transformations. Each small shift building off of one another, perpetually propelling
the cyclical existence that is nature. Some manifest as small changes, summer to fall, ice to water;
others a grand metamorphosis. Humans the center of this cycle, find themselves changing every
day, biologically, developmentally, ideologically, etcetera. Gabriel Garcia Marquez s The
Handsomest Drowned Man In The World, and Carson McCuller s Sucker are both excellent
examples of short stories that, despite having undeniably different plots, feature the overarching
theme of transformation: the propellant through life. Transitions come in many forms, physical

It is seen in Marquez s literately work when the preparations are made for the Drowned mans
funeral. Villagers care for this drowned man like no other, orchestrating a grandiose funeral
bringing people from neighboring villages, and decorating him with charms and tailored
clothing. They select people to act as his family in the funeral and then they release the
Drowned man back into the water, without an anchor so that he could come back if he wished
and whenever he wished (Marquez). This all ostensibly unusual for a funeral in this area,
especially for the funeral of a drowned stranger. Villagers great this filthy piece of cold meat with
a warmth greater than that for a fallen kinsman. Change in actions is also evident in McCuller s
text when discussing the changes seen in sucker after Pete yells at him. Sucker begins spending
time with friends, inviting people over to the house, taking up more of the bed, acting tough, and
avoiding conversation with Pete who says I don t even want to call him sucker anymore
(McCuller). Sucker s actions have become apparently contradictory to the past, to the point where
Pete doesn t even find it appropriate to use his previous name. Then similar to Garcia s story, the
change in practice is emblematic of other change found around the story, specifically more rooted
mental change. Transformation of the psyche, whether entirely or compartmentally, would

Incident Between The City Of Auburn, County Of King,...
This incident occurred in the City of Auburn, County of King, Washington;
On 10 21 2016 at about 1000 hrs I was in the south parking lot of Isaac Evans
Park at 30700 Green River RD SE, when I noticed an older silver Honda sedan,
WA/BBJ3053, reversed in to a parking shall. At the time, the vehicle had two people sitting in it, a
female in the passenger seat and a male in the driver seat. The vehicle was not running at the time.
I know from several previous contacts at the park that stolen vehicles are often dropped off in the
parking lot as it is away from any busy roads and out of sight from any buildings. At the time the
vehicle was the only one in the area.
I drove over and parked my fully marked patrol vehicle next to the Honda and walked over to the
driver s side of the vehicle. As I walked over the male started to exit the vehicle.
I walked over to the male and asked him what he was doing in the area and if he was willing to
provide his name. The male quickly stated that he had a DOC felony warrant for his arrest. I placed
the male in handcuffs, per my training, and advised him of his Miranda Rights. The male stated
that he did not have ID on him, but provided his name as Garrett Brown. I checked Brown, via
radio, through WACIC/NCIC/DOL and dispatch confirmed that he had a DOC Escape Community
Custody warrant for his arrest, #2714104794. Additionally, dispatch advised that he had an DV no

Character Analysis Of Detective Spade
Throughout the novel, nothing is told about Detective spade or his private life. Unlike
Detective Marlowe the reader learns that he once was an F.B investigator that was fired.
Detective Spade s past life is untold and unknown. Depending and trusting no one but himself
with no individual from his past to vouch for his credibility trust by the people put with him. Has
never displayed a weakness or has shown vulnerability toward any force of nature or human
being. He is viewed as a stone cold individual that holds no emotions. Due to unknown
information of Detective Spade, the people view him as a mysterious individual. He is
mysterious in his own way and that creates fear in people when approaching him. Unable to
figure out who he truly is as an individual. Detective Spade engages in a conversation with
Mrs.Haven, No, we lived in Seattle the first year and then came here. San Francisco all the time?
No, we lived in Seattle the first year and then came here He from Seattle? She shook her head.
Someplace in Delaware. What Place? I don t know. Spade drew his thickish brows together a
little Where are you from? She said sweetly, You re not hunting for me. You act like it, he
grumbled. Well, who are his friends? Don t ask me! He made an impatient grimace. You know
some of them he insisted. (Hammett, 2). Detective Shade has no interest in Mrs.Havens feelings or
emotions about her husband Eli Haven missing. He is speaking to a woman who is unable to
locate her husband and shows simply no remorse or sympathy. He is interested in learning about
the company he keeps around him friend or acquaintance which will benefit his investigation.
Insofar as it mirrors the world, literature reflects the prevalent social attitude toward women; and
since this attitude so often values men and masculine pursuits over women and feminine hobbies,
women s concerns seem devalued. (Griffin pg 1). What Griffin states is exactly what has taken
place during the conversation between Mrs.Haven and Detective Spade. Mrs.Haven during this
conversation is being portrayed as being women that are being questioned beyond her power,
knowledge, and ability. When Detective Spade is asking her questions she doesn t have

High School Law
How would teenagers react to a law that states that one must receive a high school diploma in
order to obtain a driver s license? I, for one, would not be a jolly camper, as I rely on the ability
to drive for functions similar to school or work. I also see countless young adults would oppose
this law for the same reasons. In this essay, I will dive into the effects of this law, including the
hidden obscurities that would have those effects tied to them. One effect would be the availability
for teenagers to work. Firstly, if teens cannot work, then they might not be able to support their
families. Families that exist on welfare need as much money as they can acquire, and a child not
pulling his or her share of the work would cripple the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, the entire reason many teens receive driver s licenses is for the reason that they can be
free. Taking the freedom from a teen is identical to imprisoning them. The statement is true since
neither situation allows them to leave at their own whim. Secondly, teens obtain driver s licenses
for the reason that one might desire to clear their head, or remove themselves from an abusive
family. Being able to escape is needed in one s life, lest they wish to be trapped in their own
regrets and shame. Escaping an abusive family is an absolute must, for the simple reason that is
isn t ethical to force them to stay. Finally, teens enjoy hanging out with friends. It s a natural part
of society to aspire to be with other people than their family from time to time. Parties remain an
example of a piece of society that would be demolished if driver s licenses were retrieved from
teenagers until the completion of high school. This, along with the other two factors, stands the key
reasons teens should retain their licenses once they obtain it at age

Descriptive Essay On My Dream Car
Whether it s a lifted truck running a hemi or a suped up WRX, your dream car embodies what you
desire, the life you d like to live, and the kind of person you d like to be. Your real car embodies
what you have, the life you live, and the kind of person you are.
The search for your dream car entails spending months combing over different makes and models
of car, seeing which has the most horsepower, the fastest, the best for mudding or the best for
racing. Pondering what it would be like to own such a masterpiece of vehicular perfection.
The time spent imagining what your friends would think if you were to pull up to school in a
Rolls Royce, stepping out like a lavish Bill Gates. The flock of people crowding around the new
wheels just to catch a glimpse.
Instead, people walk briskly past your car to distance themselves from the smell of burning oil and
the squeaking the tranny makes anytime you shift to park.
But back to the dream car, the embodiment of fancy, adorning a leather interior, unnecessary interior
lights, top of the line dash clusters and head unit gadgets.
You look down and see your car is outfitted with an interior resembling a 1640 s tavern. Seats
stuffed with a frightening combination of feathers and hay, interior lights so dim you can t see
the pedals in the dark and worst of all, the dash. The tachometer, idling dangerously close to 3,
spikes randomly if you go over 45. As we move over, we meet the fuel gage, hovering ever so
close to the dreaded E. Does your car know what a full tank of gas is like or only what $5 gets
you? But hey, I m sure that s enough to get to school, right? Next we find the temperature gage,
where even in park the daring arrow continues to inch it s way closer and closer to H. Then we
glance over to the ominous but impending doom of the dash lights. You know what light that is,
but if you don t look maybe it will go away. A strange box with the word CHECK inside. It could
be anything from a faulty light, to a blown head gasket, but that s not important cause you re not
fixing it regardless.
Last but not least, we reach the coup de gras of your dash, the odometer. Dust covers the numbers,
protecting your eyes from the abomination that is the mileage.

  • 2. Essay on Conformity and Political Control The political system in the United States of America is ruled by a two party system that is currently fighting for control of the economy and government. In the last century the country has been involved in several conflicts including two world wars and the cold war, which permanently instilled fear and terror in the American psyche. After the terrorist attacks of September 11th, the economy was brought to the edge of failure leaving a bi partisan political system with the attitude that there is either a democratic or republican solution to the many problems Americans face as a nation. Due to the fact that there is so much at stake, both political parties have resorted to tactics that prey on the fact that human beings usually conform to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a generalization of the effect, but this geo political representation can also be shown on a smaller or larger scale. Residents of small towns usually affiliate with the same political party and the majority residents of a larger region will usually affiliate with the same party. This is where the idea of the conservative south or liberal north comes from. The fact that people automatically conform to those around them has negative repercussions in more than one political arena. The idea that people conform to political affiliations regionally affects the way the House of Representative re draws their district lines. This happens so frequently on the state and federal level that that practice has actually been termed gerrymandering. Unfortunately the practice of gerrymandering practically undermines the political process in America emphasizing the importance of which party has the majority in The House of Representatives and taking focus away from their socio economical principles. The lawmakers of this country utilize the fact that people will automatically conform to others around them to their advantage creating a political system that is not truly democratic. Politicians of both parties also take advantage of the fact that people are likely to conform due to normative influences. Normative influences lead people to conform due to the fear or backlash of others (Kassin, 2011, p.258). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Current Year 2017, Marks The 20Th Anniversary Of The The current year 2017, marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of Netflix. In today s society, Netflix and Chill is an actual term used by Millennials, young adults, and adolescents. Netflix accounts are shared like candy, and a break up results in your ex continuing to use your Netflix account. It is hard to imagine a time when this was not the norm, when Netflixdid not exist. In order to live the Netflix obsessed lives society does, what had to happen? What is the history of Netflix? The Founding of Netflix In 1997, Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph co founded Netflix. The duo became acquainted through their previous jobs at Pure Atria. Coincidentally Hastings and Randolph both lived in Santa Cruz, and were in the same little ... However, around this time DVD s were up and coming, allowing for the resurrection of this otherwise buried idea. In order to see if shipping would be a problem, Hastings and Randolph mailed a CD to Reed s house (Xavier). This is one of the founding myth stories that is actually very true (Xavier). When the CD arrived at Hastings house undamaged the two realized that they may just be on to something. Following their epiphany was a period of working through the details (Xavier), where Randolph mainly, worked through things such as cost and how the company would work. Eventually there was nothing else that could be researched or worked out and the pair had to jump (Xavier) into their new business. Once the company began, Randolph ran the company as CEO and Hastings funded it and contributed when he could. The Growth of Netflix Today only Hastings remains with Netflix, while Randolph left the company back in 2002, and the company s board of directors in 2004. Leadership is not the only change Netflix has seen. The Netflix known today bears almost a zero resemblance (Xavier) to the original concept Hastings and Randolph envisioned for Netflix. The original concept was to provide a movie rental service without due dates and late fees. However, logistics did not favor this vision, and instead Netflix s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead of seeing the real effects of how we are and what we do we see things to be a fantasy. Roman roads were a crucial part of Rome because they helped Rome expand their empire, trade easily, and move ideas along. Not only that, but Roman roads were amazing engineering accomplishments. Roman roads helped Rome expand and connect the entire empire together. Altogether, Roman roads stretched about 53,000 miles. The most famous road is the Via Appia. This road is about 38.5 miles long. The paving stones were placed on top and the center of the road was raised to allow for the drainage of water in rainy weather. Ditches were dug on the sides of the road to take the water and move it away. Pedestrians would walk on sidewalks, which were about 1 3 meters in width. These sidewalks were separated from the road by a curb made of stone slabs. Roads were reinforced and perfected in order for Romans to be able to move quickly. The average road was about 4.2 meters wide, enough to let two wheeled vehicles pass each other. Because Romans knew that the shortest distance between two places is a straight line, roads were built in straight lines, only curving when an obstacle was impossible to pass. To be able to move in a straight line, Romans built bridges, diverted creeks, cut forests, dug flat areas, drained marshes, cut into mountainsides, and tunneled through mountains to keep the road straight. As the church grew the practice of theology resulted in many interpretations and threatened traditions held about the nature of God. Gnosticism made inroads claiming that Christ was a messenger who carried gnosis so that humanity could return to its spiritual origins (72). It viewed the physical world as evil so the form of Jesusbody was open to interpretation consistent with the thought that it wasn t physical like the bodies of other people and couldn t die so it also could not rise again. Some held that life in the world should discipline our bodies while others held that the human spirit was inviolable and life in the body should be unrestrained. This duality of physical and spiritual also gave rise to Marcionism. Marcion believed that the God of the Old Testament (Yahweh) and of the New Testament (Father of Christ) were two different gods. Because he viewed Yahweh as the creator, he rejected the incarnation since it would have made Jesus subject to an inferior god. These new beliefs were centered on the expanding field of science. Man was focused on more than the Gods or heavenly concerns. A government that was ruled by the people was suggested as opposed to a monarchy that had existed for many years. Freedom of religion was encouraged in city states. These new ideals, though good in intentions, often conflicted with each other creating complex moral dilemmas. Such was the case in Antigone, a play written by Sophocles during this era of change. An important ideal in Ancient Greece was the belief that the government was to have no control in matters concerning religious beliefs. In Antigone s eyes, Creon betrayed that ideal by not allowing her to properly bury her brother, Polynices. She believed that the burial was a religious ceremony, and Creon did not have the power to deny Polynices that right. Antigone s strong beliefs eventually led her to her death by the hand of Creon. Never, though, did she stop defending what she thought was right. As Creon ordered her to her death, Antigone exclaimed, I go, his prisoner, because I honored those things in which honor truly belongs (Sophocles page #). She is directly humiliating Creon by calling his opinions and decisions weak and unjust. She also emphasizes his prisoner, which tells us that Creon s decision to capture Antigone was his own, and was not backed up by the majority of the people. She feels that Creon is abusing his power as king and dealing with her task to a personal level. Creon s actions are guided by the ideal that states man is the measure of all things. The chorus emphasizes this point during the play by stating that There is nothing beyond (man s) power (Sophocles page #). Creon believes that the good of man comes before the gods. Setting the example using Polynices body left unburied is a symbol of Creon s belief. No man who is his country s enemy shall call himself my friend (Sophocles page #). ... The primary difference is Helvetica is vertically cut, while Arial is slightly angled. For instance, the tail of the a is gently curved in Helvetica, as is the first connection of the bowl to the stem, but not in Arial. The patients are required to visit the clinic to do the testing and counseling. VCT has been shown to have a role in both HIV prevention and as an entry point to treatment (UNAIDS 2000). Indeed, Wright and Katz (2006) announced that the amounts of suicide cases in the USA were not increased after the approval of home testing kits by FDA in 1996. On the other hand, some people feared that notification of negative result in home testing would diminish the chances to educate at risk individuals to understand their risky behavior. Meanwhile, in VCT setting there are less concerns about this problem because it has face to face counseling for patients with any results. However, it is believed that direct counseling services currently provided in clinic based testing are ineffective because they are too brief and inadequate (Harris 2005). Moreover, according to a study that interviewed at risk individuals, most of them supported the argument that current face to face counseling services were not necessarily optimal and also supported the introduction of new counseling methods like brochures, magazine, and telephone counseling (Spielberg et al. as cited in Whellams 2008). In fact, it has been demonstrated in a study by Frank et al. (1997) that pre test and post test telephone counseling provided in anonymous HIV home collection kits offered a safe and effective substitute to traditional VCT method. Return To Nature, Wedge s Stop And Think, By Kath Walker Kath Walker s Return to Nature, Wedge s Stop and Think, and my book cover all relate to the title of Back to Land through the message of retiring back to the natural world where it once was or still is a happier place than human civilisation. Walker writes in her poem, Lover of my happy past / Soothe my weariness with warm embrace. Turn not from me ... Am I strayed too long and now forsaken? With the assistance of personification, we can see the narrator is attempting to return to their romantic relationship with Mother Nature( lover of my happy past ), who is unforgiving towards the narrator s actions. Likewise, my book cover exhibits signs of influence from this poem through its red background, not only being the colour of the cave wall but also connoting a similar anger. It is important for leisurepractitioners too not only understand the health benefits leisure provides an individual, but to also understand what motivates individuals to partake in leisure and what types of barriers and constraints they may have to overcome for successful leisure participation to occur. An external stimulus results in individual s partaking in activities because there are rewards if they partake or there is a punishment if they do not (Recours, Souville Griffet, 2004, p. 3). Rather than doing something voluntarily for their enjoyment there is a reason they partake in the activity, for example sporting activities may offer trophies and rewards (Iso Ahola, 1989,p. 255). This extrinsic reward may motivate individuals to join sporting teams to receive a trophy or reward. Extrinsic rewards can therefore undermine intrinsic motivation by rewarding individuals for something they enjoy doing (Iso Ahola, 1999, p. 43). Extrinsic motivation can result in the feeling of being controlled and restricted (Iso Ahola, 1999, p.43). The rewards and sanctions can also affect behaviour, cognitive abilities, creativity and emotions (Iso Ahola, 1999, p. 43). In the Mr Mathews case study, he assists at the nursing home and this is an example of being intrinsically motivated. After the death of his wife he no longer visits the nursing home, and an example of extrinsic motivation would be if the nursing home offered Mr Mathews a monetary reward for assisting (Harvey, 2015). The second is in which your soul is relocated elsewhere, you are able to talk to others that have passed like great figures from the past. The alleged inconstancy is clear between these two arguments. The first argument Socrates states that he does not fear death because he has no clue what lies beyond. He cannot fear what he does not know of. With both arguments he is very confident in what he is saying, especially with the second argument claiming that he has proof that death is good.
